This is adapted from the Night's Edge Homefront, where a vampire 'embraced' a child from an abusive family situation to help him kill his father with a handgun. I don't know why being a vampire was required. 

In my version the crew meets a kid who is the leader of a local yogang the crew met before and liked, but unlike those orphans he actually has a family. But it's not a good situation as his father is an abusive drunk eurosolo who happens to work for David Ling Po (the local triad connection, this can be changed for your game). 

tl;dr someone who hates David wants to take out his security manager, so sets up the security manager's son to kill him. They do this by soulkilling the kid, putting him in a child-sized drone, and when his dad is beating his mom the kid hulks out and fucks the dad up, then runs away because he's a fucking (copy) of a child and can't comprehend what he's done. Yes this is probably way more expensive and stupid than it should be, but the motherfucker in question was the rival of an Arasaka medtech player who loved to go the distance to ruin lives. Like an opposite of the hypocratic oath. 

So the crew learns about this as a murder of the eurosolo and say the wife is in shock and the kid is missing, and are asked to find the kid. This might come from the NCPD and if your crew is friendly with them they might link up for a while. Bonuses on skill rolls or auto-successes if the crew is bad at investigating.

The crew gets to the high rise where the eurosolo's family was and can ask around, or go to the Little China hospital and interview the wife. This is where things get interesting.

You can have the kid just have a pop-up VH handgun and a cyberarm. That could easily assassinate a surprised drunk eurosolo. Hell if you want the kid can still be alive and not a ChatGPT rp clone! But you could also have the kid be a drone body (like a child gemini) with the pop-up gun he shot his dad with. But you can also do what I did, where the 'drone body' is more like a disgusting meat slime monster like Parysyte; The Maxim and the kid didn't shoot his father but cut him to pieces before fleeing.

Now it's up to the crew to hunt down the kid by making local knowledge/survival checks, whatever works to track him. Maybe even find some of his friends. My final location was a nightclub that the kid also set on fire for added drama. The crew has to find him, isolate him, then figure out what to do.

And now this was one of my greatest moments as a game master. I had 5 players and not one had the same idea what to do with him.

The medtech said that he might be an engram copy but he was still a person, and it was his body so fuck off. Also she knew her rival was involved and hated his guts.
The fixer nun just wanted his drone body to sell off. 
The NCPD lawman had his own AI buddy, and wanted to remove the kid to do whatever but give his AI buddy a body.
The solo wanted to help the kid but get him out of that murdering body and get him therapy.
The media wanted to kill him because he was a disgusting AI, not even caring he was cloned from a human (who is now long dead).

It was great shit. I think the argument almost went on for 2 hours before the medtech said she'd never heal anyone ever again if they took the kid's body away and they submitted. 

Ultimately it's a fucked job. The kid's been dead for weeks before his engram piloting a drone killed his dad and mind broke his mom. There is no positive outcome for this story. It's more about trying to pick up the pieces afterwards, or just taking the best parts and running away. 

It also works towards another one of my jobs (The Golden Dragon Heist now that David Ling Po's top security goon is dead).
