It's another late night within Gardenview, and that means another long editing night for Mona. Unlike times of eld, she seems propelled on by a jet of brilliant, almost limitless passion, even if it keeps her away from her beloved for a little while longer than she'd like. Hundreds of images flash before the interlinked editing monitors, with Mona seemingly viewing all of them at the same time, what with the cursor darting around at an almost impossible rate. Soft house music fills the air, setting a pleasant ambiance to help keep Mona focused at the task at hand. The door behind her creaks open a little bit, and one of Vee's eyes peeks from behind it, watching as the screens go from filled with footage to fading to black as the editing process on each clip gets finished up, with new tapes piling up on a handcart for final review tomorrow. More and more screens grow dark until there are four left, with Mona tapping a finger to her lips as she looks more attentively at the clips. Vee slowly slips past the door, letting it close quietly behind herself to look over Mona's shoulder. The four clips are of different toons. One of Bobette's show, where she's showing the other toons on set how to prepare their woodworking projects for staining and varnishing. Another clip is of Teagan, who is having a discussion with Shelly about needlepoint, while the pair of them show off their recent works in progress. The third clip is of Mona's own show. One that doesn't make it outside of Gardenview at her own request, as she doesn't wish to be known outside of the place, which puzzles Vee a little bit, as Mona says herself that she wants it to look as close to 'public access' as possible. In the clip, Mona is sitting in a chair, and Vee pulls out a prop gun, shooting Mona 6 times before reloading it, and then shooting her a further 8 after. And though the sound from the clips are only heard inside Mona's head, Vee remembers clearly hearing Mona groan, before shouting out, "Hey Vee... Look at me, Vee... Bitch!" The smaller monitor head gives a healthy laugh at this, before playing around in a Midi editor for a few minutes, and putting the resulting song in along with a "We'll be Right Back!" text art. The final clip is of Vee's own show... a very rare episode where Vee is the one behind the contestant stand, and Scraps is the one posing the questions for the day, as a 7th anniversary episode. Mona's chair creaks as she leans back into it, with a rattling of a panel being lifted up, and the sound of wires being checked on and rewired, before Mona murmurs, "Oh.. Vee..." with a tone of voice bordering on longing. Vee takes this moment to.. completely fumble a step closer to Mona, snapping her out of her 'flow' with a shrill 'eeep!' The sitting monitor doesn't bother to close the panel on her side, and just looks at Vee in surprise. "H-how long have you been standing there, dummy!" Mona pouts, crossing her arms underneath her dress clad chest. Vee seems to stare at the markedly more curved form Mona has on display as opposed to when she's wearing her stuffy suit for a bit too long, shaking her head for a moment afterwards. "Gh... only for a few minutes! You work yourself to the bone, y'know! What would Bobette say if she saw you awake this late at night?" Vee reaches over the chair to punch Mona on the shoulder gently, before looking at the wires hanging out of Mona's side with green pixels filling in her cheeks. Mona doesn't cotton on to what Vee is staring at for the longest time, before she puffs, digital lips pursed together. "I'm sure my dear Snow Angel will be understanding as to what keeps me. It is an essential part of our work, even now that we do not have nearly as strict of a timetable since we're working for ourselves instead of Delilah." She looks Vee up and down, picking up on the dress that she *also* is wearing, before giving a mischievous grin. "Something tells me you have something more than something you wanted to ask me, what with that getup." Mona closes her eyes for a moment, and puts the finishing touches on the clips behind her, closing out the remaining screens, before the whole setup flicks on to display a 20## New Year cityscape testcard, fireworks exploding in the distance under the gentle light of the moon, before turning her chair to face Vee. Vee sputters as Mona lets her just stare at her open wires, fidgeting at a panel on her side before pulling it open, revealing Vee's various cables to Mona as well, biting down hard on her digital lips before getting out in a rush, "IwantyoutoconnectwithmesoIcantellyousomethingimportantokay?" Vee stamps her metal heels down at a flustered pace, eyes closing as she awaits Mona's response. Mona blinks, before softening her grin to a warm smile. "If you're sure, then... please hold still." Mona stands up, running a finger along Vee's wires before gently disconnecting the sense wire to splice a board in, connecting both of their sense cables into it. The effect is almost immediate, with Mona becoming acutely aware of every breath Vee takes, every beat of their hearts, every slight twinge and urge to move building up in her 'muscles'. The pair gaze at each other, and seem to be thinking the same thing. Both mechanical Toons reach out to each other, Vee putting her hands on Mona's hips, while Mona places hers upon Vee's upper and middle back, the sensations of touch making them both shiver. "Gggh... I meant just a connection between our minds, not.. ugh!" Vee exclaims, looking exasperated. However, the both of them can feel the rush of a pleased feeling spreading down Vee's body, and a lesser one from Mona's own. "I just figured.. if it's that important, we can... break down the barriers between each other entirely." Mona murmured, clicking on a rather *fitting* tune, before starting to move with Vee, resting her head against their chest. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYe-Z7PSkPE) The pair of mechanical toons begin to dance to the tune. Mona allowing Vee to lead, the pair relishing in the shared sensations and the sound of the music for a while, all while the test card acts as a suitable backdrop, the digital moon growing a little brighter to shine down upon them. The pair gaze at it together, a slightly wistfulness filling the pair. They murmur at the same time, "I wish it were real." before locking eyes and smiling, a positive buzzing filling their bodies. Vee lifts Mona up to spin her around, before pulling her tight against herself, snaking her mic tail up to rest under Mona's chin with a teasing, soothing brush. Mona gives it a jolt by brushing her monitor against it, before twirling out to arm's length on Vee, swinging her cables around the taller toon to scoop her up, giving her the sensation of floating on air before stretching back to allow her to come to a rest laying across her. Mona's eyes look into Vee's, and before Vee can say anything, Mona bumps her monitor against Vee's, a series of static snaps leaping between their screens while their hands grasp upon the other's back, leaving them both tingling. Eventually, the sensations become a bit too much to bear for both parties, and they stagger onto their feet with a little less grace than Mona wanted, but given the surge of bubbly feelings coming from Vee, she can't help but feel a little proud at her attempt to be suave. Mona lets Vee twirl her close again, before the pair settle into Mona's chair, with Mona being once again wrapped up in Vee's microphone tail, a sense of safety filling them. As they finish settling, another rather well fitting song starts to come on. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3SM5wFgAkI) "Mona... I've... been kinda torn as of late. The way we've been getting at each other has been fun, but... ugh..." Vee lets out a sigh, trying to find the words to convey, before she just squeezes the smaller woman. "Look. I know you want more of me.. and I'd be.. lying if I said I didn't want to get more of you to see what made you tick... but a part of me still feels resistant. Like you are trying to lead me on." The pangs of pain that come from Mona betray the smile on her face, before fading into a buzzing warmth, as Mona cups Vee's screen, so they're looking into each other's eyes. "Vee... I do genuinely admire you. Outside the usual reasons why almost anyone here clashes with you, I think you put on a very good gameshow. I think your ability to take and hold stage presence is a marvel that I only wish I had the bravery and capability to do on my own.. even *with* the caveat I have placed on my involvement with being on screen with most shows. I value your attempts to get others around you to improve, so that all of us can be better in our day to day.. even if you fall short with how you deliver the criticism. If I ever made you feel let on, I apologize, for it was not my intention." Mona eventually falls silent after this, feeling slightly overwhelmed again at the feelings of guilt, bubbly warmth and the swelling of the heart. "Rrgh.. You don't need to be so sappy, y'know! A simple 'I'm not leading you on' would do!" Vee retorts, trying to save face, but with the both of them connected, knowing full well it's going to be seen through as just a bit of bravado. Vee eventually rotates Mona so they rest stomach to stomach, eyes gazing happily upon one another as the clock on the test card ticks by. Eventually, Vee takes a tentative hand and rubs Mona's antenna, inadvertently leaving the both of them a little brain fuzzy from the overwhelming pleasant sensations that shoot out of Mona when it's stroked. They bask in the fuzziness for another hour, before eventually disconnecting the board that allowed them to share their sensations with one another. Mona puts the board away in a safe drawer before clicking off the monitors to walk Vee back to her room, with the last thing heard is the clunk of the door behind them.
