Please do not leak this as it's a work in progress and may have slight differences in its iterations meaning that i will be able to know if it was leaked from a chat or this server. Gameplan Summary Disclaimer: EXE’s lore is heavily unfinished and there’s not much at all to fill the blanks. Most of the gifs are definitely outdated by now and a few were not canon to begin with. However, one has to work with all he can and with such limited material, there isn't much that can be done. This is merely an attempt at making a somewhat faithful game that is to be interpreted as a Sonic.exe 2011 remake. [Intro Cutscene] A user that claimed to be involved with Revie at one point said that the game was supposed to show EXE's origins. To explain this, it's better if we have a cutscene that plays when the game is started where X makes a brief appearance, exiles EXE and then the scene switches to him confining his form in the Sonic 1 rom inside the disc. Screen fades to black, showing a brief shot of each of the Harbingers in the shadows with their respective victims. (The only one we currently know about is Lucas, whose soul was stolen by Max and well Kyle found the disc instead. The rest we will have to think about but for Jake, i'd specifically like to have him killed by EXE directly for a reason. So his image will be the last one to show up and will show a static filled red screen with EXE's eyes peaking from it. What brough me to choosing so is the fact that Revie has clarified that unlike the rest, he is more "put together mentally". As cryptic as that sounds, to me it implies that he is aware of the horrors of EXE's realm and has been around it for a while. Perhaps he obtained his scarf from a previous Robotnik victim vessel or something like that.) Anyways, after the screen goes all red, it's barely visible but EXE's ethereal form slowly crawls out of the monitor. The static calms down into a single red tint which then spirals into EXE's disc. Camera zooms out revealing that the disc is on the tray of the same laptop you see in the GAME OVER video. Perspective changes to infront of the screen and then tray closes automatically, you can hear the disc spinning. Seconds after, the camera slowly zooms in on the device's screen and the SEGA text appears fullscreen. Cutscene ends as it fades in the dark, the actual game finally starts. [Title Screen] Revie's gif remastered, that's all. Save/character select screen needs a little more work to get right: following the canon, sometimes there would be no vessels, so no game to play and EXE would instantly kill the player. Not sure if this is worth recreating but if we were to, there would need to be RNG with a very low chance of it happening. An extremely rare randomized jumpscare that will play at this screen before crashing the game. Most of the times though, the game will start just fine with all of the vessels. That's when the series of gifs comes into play, they all need to be redone as well but roughly what happens now is that Tails is choosen, the background changes and then EXE's laugh plays before it fades to black. (If you have not seen them, basically what happens is that between each of the characters stages, the background will slowly change while the save icon will show the previously murdered victim. Gary is the last one and his background clearly shows EXE's face looking at you from behind the reddish atmosphere.) Now it's time for the actual gameplay and the mechanics that need to come into play. [Tails/Lucas] Hill - The stage we know the most on how it looks (thanks to Joe's concept art and the sketches that were then redrawn for FNF) and we know that during the level exe was not supposed to show up till the end, where the level would have had the mountainous scenary from Black Sun Gameplay is mostly gonna be the player adapting to the new more human physics and avoiding the shellblights by finding ways to get past them or to stop them Hide And Seek - The world under the influence of the Black Sun, looks like the city concept (Tails is supposed to hide/outrun EXE who will take a few seconds to transform giving him time to hide inside a door building, one of the doors will contain a shellblight with a jumpscare that's gonna take away his tails) Hill should be a relatively long stage with multiple paths you can take to clear it while Hide And Seek won't last nowhere near as long. Tails obviously gets killed in the end (multiple possible deaths other than the one in the gif, the old one with the branch spike and some from Divide's concept art as a tribute) and it's onto the next selection screen with Knuckles. [Knuckles/Kyle] Lost - introduction level for Knuckles, could not find many details sadly What we are gonna have here is the level starting with a cutscene of him looking from top of Scrap Brain at what's happening down the island The animation has to be synced with the bass, every time the bass segment plays, Knuckles watches somewhere else First seeing the burning Hill (hence the cackling in the audio), then the mountains and then last the Black sun slowly revealing itself like an Eclipse In this first area the player will have to deal with the low visibility as the shadows, pollution and mist will creep in after the cutscene Enemies are still shellblights that need to be avoided but Knuckles can punch to defend himself from the small ones, not kill them though No longer being able to glide, his climbing will also be much, much slower and leaving him open to enemy attacks Only at the end EXE will appear in a corridor section that Knuckles can't reach and will wag his finger at the player You Can't Run - Scrap Brain zone, main level for Knuckles, the visibility here is much worse than the previous one There aren't many shellblights but rather more obstacles like sawblades and gas/flames from busted tubes or stuff like that Found You - EXE finally finds Knuckles, cue "FOUND YOU" image and then EXE using the atmosphere to trick him, also trapping him in the fight (We all know EXE cannot teleport but he is able to use the smoke in the area to his advantage because of his form blending in) Multiple possible deaths here as well and Knuckles actually falls down crying for a reason as he has been badly hurt by EXE's claws (That's because he will stand no chance in the fight with the multiple ethereal shadow illusions which will blend in the smoke EXE's hand will be moving the clones like puppets from the background and the attacks will make a slash in the smoke revealing EXE's face like the in that one image) Needless to say, he is killed and the game moves onto the next selection, Alice's levels which are definitely the most inaccurate ones due to little info remaining. [Amy/Alice] Sadly, very little information was made public on this part of the story. One of the people who previously interacted with Revie, said that her route would've had "Alice in Wonderland" vibes Clearly related to the tone of the atmosphere and the looks of the shellblights Special Stage - Unclear how it's supposed to go but considering that most of her section was a tribute to Sally, it might've been similar No mention of "Not Perfect" though, perhaps it just wasn't counted as a named stage but still played out the same More than likely this was the stage in which the old gif of her being trick killed by EXE happened Night - The soundcloud tags said "Starlight Zone", so it's confirmed to be that but not much else is known KINDANDFAIR - An expert of EXE's lore from back when Revie posted on Twitter is confident that this was in "Spring Yard Zone", might've played in a similar way to the original Perhaps Alice trying to run away from EXE, ending up in spikes and triggering the "ARE YOU EVEN TRYING ANYMORE?" screen Doubt - Unknown, possibly Alice breaking down after the many times she has died, starting to question her own existence Trees - Possibly the stage in which the official soundcloud upload had an image of Amy's silhouette being hanged on a red bg 8-8-8 - Nothing is clear about this stage, could be the stage in which it's clear that Amy is in the Black Sun (Hence why she keeps on coming back from her death, plus the bg track kinda sounds fitting for the mysterious city maze setting) ___ - Act 9 from Sally as a tribute but made more interesting, possibly something with Amy being slowly crushed by the same ethereal hands that EXE uses against Knuckles in "Found You" and all of this plays out while synced to the music track, finishing Alice once and for all Now i know what you are thinking, "there is no way Alice falls for EXE thinking that it's Sonic when he killed her and brought her into literal hell" Well you see, as i said earlier, most of these victims were brought in by the Harbingers rather than EXE himself She is one of them and upon seeing her favorite videogame hero, she gets close to him thinking that she found salvation from the crooked realm she's in Anyways, after this it's Jake's turn and unlike Alice, he's well aware of what he is dealing with [Metal/Jake] Let's keep in mind that the relation between Gary and him has never been explained While Metal is usually seen serving Robotnik, Jake was never stated to follow this behaviour The gif of him saving Gary is probably not to be taken as implying anything Chasing Shadows - Metal's turn begins, intro of him wagging his finger and clearly showing his scarf design, level takes place in Scrap Brain Act 3 (music seems to fit that the most) He is attacked by the shellblights (more specifically he encounters the ones from the wiki images rather than the other sketches) and EXE's shadow clones that creep out from the dark spots of the caves Marco Polo - He reaches Final Zone where the first thing that happens is a cutscene The camera moves to EXE about to kill Robotnik like in the old gif and Jake jumps in to knock him away momentairly He then points to the other direction as a way to tell Gary to get out but in the meantime he lets his guard down The "I KNOW YOU" gif plays out (as we know that Jake is the victim with the most experience and knows EXE much more than the rest) EXE jumps back at him trying to crush him but Jake manages to free himself by activating Metal's electric attack (the one he has in Sonic CD) Jake slides backwards because of the shock but manages to get back on his feet nonetheless, he starts sparking and that's when the music starts playing Best guess is that the song was named Marco Polo because of EXE and his illusions following Jake everywhere during the fight no matter where he goes The other thing about Marco Polo is that Revie said "an horrible truth is revealed" during this section That might possibly mean that he comes to the realization of EXE's immortality, that there is no escape and that he can't win no matter what And well, that's exactly what happens here as he is seemingly defeated by EXE, causing an error The game though simply returns to the selection for one last time [Robotnik/Gary] ... - Marble Zone Catacombs or whatever you wanna call them Gary wanders around, poor lighting level so it's difficult to see At one point during the level, EXE's laughter is heard and the torches run out That's when Gary decides to grab one from the wall to light it back up He manages to do so, however as soon as he does, he finds out that EXE has arrived and is right behind him Unexpectedly, Jake who seemed to have been eliminated actually comes back for one last time, with his chapter 5 design He essentially accepts his fate with one last desperate fight, his sacrifice wether done voluntairly to help Gary or not, gives the player time to run GET BACK HERE - Optional chase sequence, you can wait for EXE to be done with Jake and not play this part If you proceed, Robotnik descends deeper in the zone, where the walls are of a deep crimson red After hiding behind statues of himself, Robotnik is relieved to have found the eggmobile, so turns off the torch as he's ready to get on the vehicle He thinks that he has been able to fool EXE but before he can get in, the situations turns out to be the opposite EXE's hands come crawling out of the now pitch dark background to tear Robotnik's limbs apart However we don't get to see the execution as the screen glitches into static (maybe with an illegal instruction?) Only letting us hear his agonizing scream with a powerful tunnel echo, that slowly fades out The static runs out and EXE's face comes out of the shadows, covering the entire screen A few seconds of silence and the DEAR PANDORA section with the poem begins When the loud section of the song plays, that's when the "I AM GOD" part comes in He then fully opens his mouth, emitting red static and shaking violently (exactly like in the gif or the Black Sun game over) [Ending] After a few seconds of silence, the Game Over video plays out as the game over text appears and the track starts As soon as it ends, EXE's eyes flash through the red static and his ethereal form grabs you in from the screen of the laptop, reclaiming your soul If you didn't collect the red rings (which are just gonna be hidden since there are no details to make out their stages nor songs), then the game will just end there and close itself as EXE has killed you, nothing more will happen as that will be it (the whole procedure has played out) If you did however collect the rings, incomprehensible images of EXE's lore (such as the weird greek text) will start flashing over the screen The audio will be static but then, at one point the images will stop and it will slowly dissolve as "Confronting Yourself" will start playing The secret Sonic level will play similarly to the original one, with a few differences The player will see the mutilated corpses of the characters that have been brutally murdered by EXE Each time a new one is on screen, the respective image of the character's face will flash on the screen When the player finally passes through all of them and reaches the end, the "you've gone too far" image will static in and then loudly static out The game will close and then the last cutscene will play out (Yes im aware that this ending is just kind of like the original Sonic.exe game but there isn't enough info to get the conclusions that Revie had in mind correctly and besides, EXE is meant to be a take on original X so in the end, i guess this will somewhat do.) Wether you played this last level or not, the ending cutscene will be seen A brief video of the laptop turning off and opening the disc tray with the X disc on it The door of them room the device is in, will then open and reveal a shadow on the floor Wether it's Tilen in specific or a member of the cult in general doesn't matter Cutscene will end with players only being able to see the hand getting the disc back from the tray and closing the door Cue credits or just crash the game i guess
