Pick a color (Ideally one not present on the map already), A name for your country, and the number of the tile you wish to inhabit. If you want to describe your country (capital, culture, anything of note, etc.), but you don’t have to. Feel free to name geographical stuff around you as well.

This is not a super rigid game; you can really do what you want so long as it’s fun and interesting for other players as well as yourself. Build up your nation, expand, do diplomacy, rp, and what have you. My goal as QM is to make sure it’s interesting and enjoyable for everybody involved.

Feel free to join in once we’ve already started, so long as there is some sort of vacant land for you. I'll go out of my way to integrate you into the story.

Long ago a great flood engulfed the earth, the wrath of the gods for man’s evil ways.
The tarnian were the descendent of those who drowned in the great flood. Who fled from the waters to the land now named tarnput. They now dedicate themselves to the gods. And are zealous for devotion to them.

The imazeeb are a nomadic desert tribebesmen organized in a loose confederation between clans and the few permanent villages centered around the precious water supplies of the area. The current leader of the imazeeb is being decided so for the moment it is diarchy between clan's moclume's leader shalun and the prince of house thulun Sadiq. There is no capital but a strict culture of laws keep the imazeeb a cohesive culture as well as the occasional sanctioned assassin duels prevent all out civil war from breaking out. Also they huff a lot of desert hash which is just weed that can grow in the desert

Gnome Kingdom (capital Gnomewater bordering the southern lake)
This is the land of the Gnomes. By devoting the entire economy to maintaining a border wall surrounding the country, we've managed to hold this land for thousands of years without any expansion or contraction. This insular race prefers not to wander beyond the wall, although if provoked, will not hesitate to do whatever it takes to preserve itself. A strict royal family has ruled the Kingdom with an iron fist for 12 generations, quelling any dissent and consolidating power every decade. When not working on the wall the Gnomes enjoy stockpiling mushrooms, riding snails, collecting trinkets, and playing tiny instruments.

The Copernican Artificers are a race of dexterous, tall four-armed humanoids that possess great skill in craftsmanship. The Artificers are loosely organized, as they do not care much for petty politics.

This is the land of magically uplifted penguins that overthrew the previous wizard kingdom that ruled here. They've managed to band together and form a government to rule themselves and use the magical items and structures to retain power over the tundra and ice beasts of their land. Their main structure of power is a large Wizards tower from which the most powerful and intelligent of the penguins rule and distribute orders.

Being naturally adept in the ways of the water a tarnput blubmin (the priest caste of tarnput) has his boat swam to the island of the parznip. For it is said in the ancient writings that a great mountain once lay where parznip now lies. Other delegates were sent out to other lands and coasts but found nothing.
The blubmin beings gifts of gold trinkets dredged up from their drowned home.
He then asks to have a tour of the cities of the land. And looks to see if the parznip worships the gods as tarnput does…
Does he find a land that reveres the gods?
>>
>>5563975
The tarnput colonize (the tile to the) north. For it is similar in climate to the one they already dwell in.
As well they erect a great temple in their homeland.
>>
>>5563883
Avg. Lifespan: 10 years (1,000 years in Parznip time)
Avg. Height: 4ft. 2in. (7ft. 6in., including the flamboyant, rigid and fragrant hairstalks at the top of their head - a delicacy to some predators)
Avg. Weight: 80lbs.
Special Talents: Hibernation, underwater breathing, night vision, fluency in Pig Latin
Proclivities: Slave trading, sport hunting, producing music videos
Leader: Shavvo Parznippian, who unilaterally makes all the country's sociopolitical and economic decisions.

The pallid (but inexplicably sometimes purple) root creatures known as the Parznippians are a noble but savage culture of tribesmen. All Parznippians are genetically identical, as they are all hydroponically grown in biogenic Znip pods in the heart of the forest, in the holy Lake Parznip: namesake, birthplace and sole breeding grounds of the country and race.

The Parznippians' true origin is unknown to themselves, they have no clue how long they've inhabited the island or how they came to inhabit it, they simply tend the Znip pods and take care of their other biological needs instinctively. They aren't very tolerant of outsiders, but they're also not very adept at technology. They have very little contact with the world outside of what comes to the island. There always seems to be many visitors on the island for some reason, but they primarily stay in the more hospitable south side of the island, which leaves the north side's resources entirely uncontested. Only rarely do foolish adventurers enter the north side, against the warnings of wiser heads.

Seeing the gifts the Fishmen have brought them, the Parznippians lower their dull pitchforks and rusty letter openers, and welcome the foreigners cautiously. Manners have not yet evolved in Parznip, so no gifts are given in exchange, but Shavvo reflexively feels that his people should reward good behavior with good behavior, before resorting to eating them alive if deemed necessary later on.

Shavvo informs the Tarnians that they may make themselves comfortable on the coastal village they docked in, and tour the wilds and other Parznippian settlements as long as they are with a Parznippian escort. Shavvo says he's never seen or heard of any great mountain, but there are small hills all across the island, and the Fishmen are free to take a look.

Shavvo tells the blubmin that Parznippians worship only the holy lake that births and provides for them. The same lake that the Tarnians are told they are forbidden from going near. Shavvo doesn't mention any interest in the spiritual beliefs of the Fishmen.

If they aren't, we will have to take a rain check on the ships.

Actual "lore"
LIFESPAN: 555 is the maximum after exposure to the Pink Light but on average, most live for 75 years
HEIGHT: 6'2" for men, 5'8 for women.
AVG. WEIGHT: 205 pounds for men, 155 pounds for women.
SPECIAL TALENTS: Exposure to the pink light has given them mild magical abilities involving light, smoke, or information manipulation (determined through genetic bloodlines and/or exposure). Despite their schizophrenic nature, they're remarkably good at remembering and recording information.
FAVORITE ACTIVITIES/HOBBIES: Religious worship, mass entertainment through stories and literature, experimenting with the Pink Light, exploration.
LEADER: THE BIG HONCHO, a very reclusive figure who is descended from the bloodline who first found the Pink Light and has spiritual authority because of it.

A few travelers from long, distant lands arrived here to try building a settlement. The exact details of who they were have been lost to history but what is known is the discovery of a "Pink Light" or "Pink Vortex". An aberration in the world that linked somewhere far, far beyond regular understanding.

Exposure to this light twisted regular people, objects, and ideals into dream like anomalies. Most people who live in the Fifth Kingdom try their best to live their version of a "normal life" (due to the light, this has been twisted into a parody of regular cultures). They see the outside world as something to admire and to explore, if only because the people have long since forgotten what it used to be.

Those who visit the Kingdom have to keep a straight head on, for prolonged exposure to the changed lands might stick with you.

with something as simple as this you don't have to roll, as it affects diplomacy and rp more than it does gameplay.

My goal with the rolling is to prevent someone from sort of unfairly beating up other players or doing the "I shoot you with my death laser" "nuh uh I dodged it" type

Though personally, id say the slaves you'd catch on the south of the island would more than likely be of your own species, just of some nonintegrated tribe.

Enlightned delegates of the Fifth Kingdom, Shilaria would love to trade you our supplies such as things like paper for you to transcribe your holy texts on. Sadly though we keep being threatened by heretics in Parzsnip that we better not tell you their misdeeds of cursing the pink light. If you could protect us from such non-believers Shillaria would be happy to help you in the ways of commerce.
>>
For a non-diplomacy action Shillaria is going to go try to claim the two islands in the middle of the sea for optimal control of trade routes and the resources and other findings that dwell within them.
>>

The imazeeb quietly expand to the surrounding regions adjacent to their home desert. They create small trading outposts for all imazeeb caravans to use though preferential treatment are given to the caravans aligned to the clan or house that established the outpost. The moclume create the lions share of the outpost to the west while the eastern outposts are mainly dominated by the thulun outposts both attempt to woo or subjugate the locals of the region to their side. Meanwhile a small house does the unthinkable and tries to cross the sea towards the famed lands of shillaria to trade spices and gems for literature and steel.

SHILLARIA LORE:
Even when considered "normal" by the rest of the world's standards, Shillaria still has interesting quirks. For one: 90% of Shillarians have no Religion or Faith. Only a few claim to believe in a higher power or a god(s) and even then half of them could be lieing. Shillarians are notorious for saying anything to get what they want. However, this does not mean all Shillarians are atheists, merely that they are so consumed by such worldly matters that they are not bothered or concerned with such things as an afterlife. Technology wise, the are on the curb of a Renaissance. Currently they are trying to perfect transport such as their carts and ships to maximize trade efficiency. Shillarians are ruled by an Oligarchy controlled by two halves. one by the wickest Shillarians who pulled any trick in the book they could and the other half wanting to go a more moral route, but only because they think there would be better profit long-term. Resources-wise they are mostly a jack of all trades. (For specifics, think of Renaissance Italy, they would have it Shillarians probably would too.) They tend to try specialize in anything they can get a monopoly on. For military they primarily hirely mercenaries or use diplomacy to get other countries to help them. They do have an Army of their own which are treated surprisingly well. mostly because they are the iron fist of the Shillarians and are not hesitant to use on the domestic population to enforce law. Besides their love of currency and commodities they do like Technology, besides the previously mentioned transport focus there is a small population trying wild things to become the next Shillaro DeGoyim.

The great clans and houses of the imazeeb continue to expand their influence within their continent however the Clan Mesa and house altare have merged creating House Altare Mesa. The Altare Mesans have begun their foray into ship building and overseas trade creating several outposts on the mainland where they trade with locals not affiliated with any country though they seem to prefer the business of the copernican artificers for their technological expertise. in terms of colonization it appears that the moclumans due to their nomadic tendencies have increased their land and influence at break neck place compared to the thuluns, this has made them rather popular with the clans who are now starting to flock to their banners. Meanwhile the arbiters, upholders of the law within the imazeeb are sensing change and are now deciding which house or clan to back, the altare mesans? The Thuluns? or The Moclumans?

Parznip completes the deals laid out with Gnome Kingdom and Tarnput.

In exchange for exactly half of the 1,000 acquired Gnome slaves, Tarnput teaches Parznip how to build and manipulate watercraft.

As a sign of good faith, we wish to teach the Gnome Kingdom these skills as well, and set sail to Territory 9, to establish a land force to more closely guard and commence commerce with our allies. Unless we attempt to take Znip pods out of Lake Parznip and across the ocean, we'll have no chance of reproducing on the mainland - but that's okay, Parznippians are plentiful on the island.

>>5564473
One of the watercraft destined for Territory 9 gets swept away by a mighty storm, and a boatload of Parznippians are washed ashore in a foreign desert. They are saved and shown hospitality by representatives of the House Moclume, who take the lost Parznippians to the leader of their (cursed?) Clan...

Meanwhile, back with Shavvo Parznippian on the main island...

Inspired by the grandiosity and sophistication of Tarnian structures, like their boats, Parznip decides to step up it's game... But doesn't really know how. Instead of a grand hall or tower, several shanty towns of tetanus-laced scrap metal houses are erected around Parznip's coastline.
>>
>>5564579
Shalun greets the parznippians as they were guest treating them to what meager comforts the nomadic clan can muster. Once sure that they were well and could travel the parznippians were escorted by the warriors of clan moclume to the burgeoning port village of altare mesa to hopefully get them a ship back home though the law requires something must be given in exchange for the ship and the mesans ask for any books or any mote of knowledge the parznippians hold.

On the otherside of the imazeeb's territory thulun begins mustering their forces for they fear that there's another great power rising in their continent.

The blubmin brings gifts of pepper. A rare plant these days that only grows in a small part of tarnput.

Update 5 (they aren't so much turns as much as just map updates)

A strong push by the imazeeb into Qudar takes back their initial losses and more, and an uninspired naval invasion by the shills fails to make any more ground. The Copernicans Road Network spreads from Shillaria to Tarnput allowing spices to flow. A coup in the Evil Gnome Kingdom leads to a New Sixth Kingdom, led by Fifthist Sympathizers, that fundamentally misunderstand the fifthist church concept. Parznipan "industrialization" has led to a massive amount of seabound pollution heading to the lands of Waynakhia, waging a war against an uninterested Copernicans.

Parzippian dung, while toxic, still contains many poorly understood secrets and qualities.

The Parznippians continue disturbing nature with their messes both artificial and biological. The once sparkling-clear waters around the country turn completely opaque from all the trash being dumped. The surrounding body of water once called the Eastern Sea becomes known as the Gray Sea.

On top of this, there seems to be a giant patch of garbage floating in the area between Parznip and the mainland, on a collision course to the straits of Territories 10 and 13. If nothing is done soon, this garbage very well may clog and dam up the natural waterway. On top of that, the trash deposits are piling up and threatening to disturb the mining operations of northern Tarnput.

Under Shavvo's orders, a boatload of Znip pods and their owners board the garbage patch, create a man-made Lake Parznip II, and attempt to reproduce in the newly acquired trash-itory.

>>5565100
>>5565203
During the journey, a few stray Parznippians fell overboard, and were swallowed by the sea and washed ashore once again. Normally, Parznippians would be able to breathe underwater and swim for hours, but riptides and whirlpools harried them relentlessly, until only their preserved, bloated corpses wash up on the beaches of Copernica and Waynakhia - hairstalks intact.

Update 6

The war continues to drag on in the lands of Qedar, as the Imazeebs continue to expand southwards unhampered by a weak Qedari Defense. A new canal built by Great Leader Prius of the Gnome Kingdom promises to connect the hermit kingdom to outside trade. The evil Gnome counterparts use their evil gnome cunning to convince settlers of the 5th kingdom to join their 6th kingdom, with many even Larping as gnomes!

The increasing amounts of waste produced by the Parzippians continue to pollute the great eastern sea, and a massive toxic dung island has begun to form, moving at a worryingly fast rate towards the Waynakhian River. This potential clogging along with the current blockade of the southern seaway threatens to bring all global trade to a sudden halt.

With no end in sight to the feces and garbage dumping, and no outside proactive action to stop the contamination, all waterways between Parznip and Waynakhia are now hopelessly polluted forever, wildlife dying and floating to the surface, only to be covered in filth and consumed by bacteria, and Parznippians.

If nothing is done immediately, the dung & trash island will collide with and get stuck in the mouth of the strait, damming off the ocean, and sealing the passage. (see pictured projection in image)

Luckily, our allies' gnome-made river is upstream and cannot be contaminated so easily. Though in the advent of sealing the strait with garbage, the Gnomes would have to sail all the way around Waynakhia and the Copernicans just to do trade. Shavvo apologizes for the inconvenience, but humbly asks that his floating island of filth not be harmed.

Shavvo, happy with the environmental changes he's brought to the world so far, decides to continue the streak. Perhaps there are new things to learn from new environments, like the desert.

>>5565853
Shavvo sends oodles of boats across the ocean, all equipped with Znip pods. On the nautical trip to Territory 33, several more Parznippians fall overboard and wash up, this time in Qedar. What became of those men is a mystery.

Once his biologically identical men land in the desolate expanses on the coast of Territory 33, nearly 90% succumb to the harsh heat and sandy winds, and are defeated. The remaining men, using the dead bodies and the materials from decommissioned boats, construct a shining shanty town, named Shrivelstump, in memory of their fallen brothers.

Once the Znip pods were established and reproduction was found to be viable, Shrivelstump's garbage and dung output were at the levels of any other Parznippian shanty.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Because the climate is unforgiving to Parznippians, they built Shrivelstump wider and taller every week, until what now housed them shot hundreds of feet in the sky, and miles in diameter. True, the building is in a constant state of disrepair, and is nearly hazardous itself as the weather is, but with the Znip pods in overdrive, the losses are deemed acceptable.

Shavvo Parznippian, now near the end of his life, has already appointed a new leader to his nation of savages, who will reign Parznip the moment that Shavvo passes away. The young Serrj Parznippian fills those shoes (well, Parznippians don't actually wear or see the need for footwear, but you understand).

A dual event, Serrj's coronation/Shavvo's remembrance celebration, is being held soon on the main, original island (next turn). All nations may attend.

Bajookieland, 36
Bajookieland is a powerful fascist nation built on coastal fishing and the rich resources that lie beneath the arid plains. The people of Bajookieland are unique in that they possess the ability to control the vast magical reserviors that encapsulate the planet. This makes them incredibly powerful and skilled in hand-to-hand combat. They are feared and respected by other nations. The nation is ruled by Bajookie Jones, the most powerful person in Bajookieland. Bajookie Jones rules with an iron fist, with strict laws, a powerful military and police force, and stringent regulations. The people of Bajookieland are prosperous, but paranoid, as the police force is unforgiving and cruel. The fishing industry is a major foodsource for those in Bajookieland, therefore, most citizens live near or on the coast. The deserts themselves are rich in minerals, oil, and precious metals, which are used to fuel the nation's plentiful exports. In terms of education and culture, scholars in Bajookieland place a strong emphasis on magical skill and power development for children. Youth in Bajookieland are taught to harness and control their powers from a near infantile age, and the use of magic is an integral aspect of daily life. The arts and sciences are devalued, as they are seen as wastes of time, resulting in Bajookieland being primitive compared to neighboring nations. Despite this, Bajookieland is a powerful and prosperous nation, as magic is used in insdustry, compensating their lack of technological prowess in favor of intricate and deeply layered magical techniques.

Actually, I could do one tonight so here it is!

The trash island has fully wedged itself into the mouth of the inland sea, blocking it off, stopping all its natural water flow, but also the inflow of waste. The seas have gone completely fallow in most areas ravaged by the waste, preventing even plankton to grow. What is left of the locals now refer to what was once the parznip sea as the dead sea. The ships sent out in search of a new desert to call home never do find land, sailing off into the seemingly infinitely flat seas surrounding what is the known world.

A fantastic Imazeeb Assault is hampered by a valiant last stand by united tribal groups standing for Qedar after a failed peace talk. The Imazeeb leadership is beginning to reconsider their doctrine of being the sole power on the continent, as more nations begin to arise around them. The newly risen nation of Bogu Bogu has fallen into a civil war between the more aggressive expansionist south and Pen State Aligned north, The south has reached out to the Gnome Kingdom for political support but has not yet received an answer from the hermit kingdom. New Nations Arise in the lands between the Copernicans and the Shillarians and in the unsettled desert.

As the Tarnput Priests establish their temple on the north coast in order to attempt to appease the gods for the natural disaster happening to their north, the head priest in the midst of his sermon is shocked as all the torches and pyres in the temple go out at once.

Dr. Bright: Welcome back, scouting party. Hopefully you found something we can use.

Scout party leader Bob: We did. We found numerous sources of iron and copper, also found an alien civilization here [points to Shillaria].

Dr. Bright: Interesting ... I think we should go over there and say hi. :D

Bob: ok ... but uhh, why? And what things don't work out? They could attack us on sight. We don't know anything about them, the don't know anything about us ...

Dr. Bright: I was thinking we could learn more about this world from them, maybe trade with them too. Also, if they try to attack us, rob us, or make fun of my tie ... (takes out chainsaw cannon) those lucky to escape alive will live to regret it. >:)
Everyone in the scouting party, you're all going to that city, empire, or whatever it is. This time, I'm going with you!

Having disrupted their ecosystems, the Parznippians find themselves starving. They look to enter a technological renaissance, but lack the means to do so. Shavvo Parznippian perishes with his nation's positive image of him, and is removed from the upcoming celebration.

At Serrj Parznippian's somber coronation ceremony, with delegates from all nations in attendance, Serrj cries out, "Won't any nation help us? My people are starving, and our lands are becoming uninhabitable! We'll take any charity you can muster. Please, my people need you!"

Gauland wishes to join the international trade. however, our people is neither well trained in sailing nor aspires to be as of now. for this reason it would be desirable to have a road coming Shillaria to the edge of tile 29, at the passage way where a dedicated port would sit.
since your people specialize in trading, you must already see that its in your best interest too to be the state which connects Gauland to the rest of the world.
for this reason i propose we share the costs. Gauland erects a port settlement with many markets, while Shillaria finances the road construction.

A fishmen barge arrives on the shores of Parznip. The blubmin who came before wore many trinkets of precious gold and stones. But this one comes clothed in pearly blue. Simple robes dyed in the color of mourning.
He comes preaching the solution to this great disaster. He comes preaching devotion to the gods and to the spirits of the land long neglected.
He preaches that this great calamity is due to the hubris of the parzip. That they have not properly attended the attentions of the gods.
He comes with many other such preachers. Who wander the lands near the coast bringing barrels of rice and bread to those who might listen.
On their way they encourage the errection of temples and idols. Discirning the different spirits who dwell in the land.
They offer as well the hand of salvation to the leadership of parznip. Offering food and gifts in return for adopting right devotion.

The Parznippians adopt the religious customs of the Tarnputian Fishmen.

At first lured in solely by the nutritional factor, the savage peoples of Parznip begin to purposefully flock to the blubmins for spiritual nourishment, as well. It doesn't come naturally to the savages, but they begin carving idols and erecting humble monuments in nature when and where they feel the spiritual call to do so. Lacking in non-garbage resources, the Parznippians carve their idols in their own likeness out of their own hardened dung heaps, and form sanctuaries of worship out of garbage pig iron scrap metal, wood splinters and rubber.
>>
>>5566865
Confused as to why the Yeti Gub was harvesting all of our shit, and misinterpreting his intentions, Gub is eaten alive by a swarm of ravenous, starving Parznippians, albeit Gub took a few down with him on the way down.

The Parznippians develop a taste for Yeti meat, and absence only makes the heart grow fonder...

Unsanctioned by the ruler, Serrj, rebel splinter groups break off and sail the world in search of Yeti flesh. The only problem is that they suck at sailing.

at first everything seems fine. a hill not that far from the previous border is chosen for the settlement. fields are selected, cattle is fenced, building are erected. on paper social rule is amended amongst the newfound neighbours who were strangers just yesterday.
yet in reality, there is a growing tension between people based on their city state of origin. before too long it erupts in a fabricated slave revolt. history already forgot what party is responsible as everyone is only pointing fingers, however it also matters little after it quickly escalate out of control.
while a lone Gaulandian can overpower many slaves, they are not fire resistant and unlike their traditional stone homes, the hastily created log houses burn quite well. neither are they used to the cold which is awaiting them after the ashes cool.
further aid arrives along with a legion lead by General Aklon and martial law is declared. after hunting down any guerrilla rebellers that escaped to the near by forests, everything is restarted with a new, more militaristic stance. it was assumed that the General would step down and return to the main lands when order is reestablished, but it seems he has different plans. the place is soon transformed into a fort.
so far the project has proved to be a giant sink of resources, over half of the original settlers are dead and it damaged internal politics too.

Update 8!!!

The war continues raging in the southern deserts, escalating to scorched earth tactics done by the Imazeeb, salting the earth reducing what was once semi-fertile arid land to uninhabitable scorched desert. A successful Qedari attack and fumbled Shillarian defense of the coast led to Shillarians being pushed from Qedari lands.

The Parznippian ecological crisis continues as International aid flows to the country. A successful conversion of the inhabitants has led to an end to the spiritual starving of the people, as they now follow the traditional beliefs of the Fishmen of Tarnput. They have succeeded in constructing a giant temple out of a former shantytown and trash heaps. The fifth kingdom built a giant tower in the center of their land, on the site of their Vortex, While Gualand reaches out to the world.

Immediately, Parznip's religion devolves into a vain self-worship, all constructed idols looking like Serrj, despite the ruler's shown indifference to religion.

After the blubmin left, Parznip went right back to polluting the oceans, including the somewhat clean eastern waters that the Yeti, Gub, tried to show us how to fish. Every fish surrounding the island has bellied up, and with the generous Fishmen's rice barrels running thin, Parznip is once again only steps away from mass starvation.

Meanwhile on the trash and dung island/dam portion of Parznip, a massive firestorm breaks out, due to all the volatile lingering fumes catching flame from a spark of unknown origin. The raging fire engulfs the entirety of the land, and starts spreading to Territories 10 & 13. There are no Parznippian survivors, but the river remains dammed. Luckily, the waters do not catch fire.

Fed up with the lack of food, and dazzled by stories of delicious Yeti meat, all Parznippian citizens metaphorically abandon ship and take to the high seas, continuing to search for creatures to eat. Even Serrj is forced to leave his homeland and make for Territory 9, where the waters are only moderately polluted, and his people prosper as they did in the heyday of Shavvo.

Clusters of struggling rebel seafarers are strewn about on the mighty waves, having no clue how to navigate their rudimentary boats. What is to become of them? Will they simply perish on the waves?

Only a few religious hardliners stayed behind to tend to the original Znip pods at Lake Parznip, and the new religious shrine they have just built, which is also Parznip's greatest architectural achievement of all time. Though they subsist on roaches and mud cookies, they are happy to maintain their home and heritage. Due to their diet, they begin developing astonishingly deep hues of purple skin, never seen before.

The original main island of Parznip is now nearly completely abandoned, and the trash dam is still on fire to this day. The only true colony of Parznippians is on the coast of Territory 9, where Serrj resides.

The race is in steep decline, Znip pod birthrates unable to keep up with the changing world.

The calamity is then seen as judgement on them, and the garbage seen in the same light as the righteous few said to have been swallowed up in the flood of old. Yet another example of the righteous being punished alongside the wicked.

A war expidition is launched into the parznip homeland. Conqeuring the purple parznips by force. These ones are then considered as marked by the gods. And are forced to adopt proper fishmen ways. With a permenant residence of lower born Blubmin to guard their spiritual practice.

Update 9

The crisis in Parznip continues as the ecological damage in some regions causes massive forest fires claiming the lives of thousands, with starvation claiming even more. Large regions of their home island are now largely devoid of life, now resembling scorched dumps rather than former inhabitable forestland. The large number of makeshift rafts attempting to leave the island are caught up in newly forming "trashburgs" stranding them and even sinking them. To add to their trouble a Fishmen Fleet has landed a force onto the island to find their sacred pond, catching the defenders off guard.

The Tower in the Fifth Kingdom continues to build higher and higher, with the inhabitants now building from the tower higher from the base, something once thought to be impossible. The Shillarians build up massive walls around their borders and begin making planned economies on their two island colonies. The War in Qedar sees an Imazeeb victory as they now occupy coastal villages along the southern ocean. Prospects aren't totally bleak for the Qedari nation though, as they may have found a new patron in the form of Tarnput.

As the war continues to rage the imazeeb seems to get stronger and stronger as they sacrifice captured qedarians and take their memories for themselves. Meanwhile their refineries begin to expand as they import steel from other countries though it is not as good as the steel taken from the transient veins of the desert.

in short:
>Capture qedarians and steal their memories to become even stronger
>continue taking their land

Putrescent purple Parznippian priests import terrifying creatures from the Hasdurn Highlands, and manage to tame them surprisingly quickly.

Vegetabloid savages mount and ride insectoid behemoths into battle, attempting to repel the Fishmen from their sacred lake once again. (dice roll)

We'd send over boatloads of super-helpful dung like we did for Qedar, but our fleet has been destroyed and scattered on the waves long ago. Sorry!

Meanwhile on the more-prosperous mainland, Serrj Parznippian grows lonely, and sickened by the activities of his fellow countrymen and countrywomen. He writes secret love letters under an alias, and sends them worldwide looking for a mate.

anticipating a siege, the rogue general erects a line of defense towers behind what he judges to be his border. in spite of this there is no official declaration of independence nor any restrictions regarding the few merchants who dare to visit. however this relationship is asymmetric: no settler is allowed to leave.

scouts are sent further east exploring the details of the terrain and looking for potential resources. the work is slow but steady, no step is taken deeper into the continent until every square kilometer is visited. with it a network of small outposts and camps are established. i will roll for results next.

-Ikannam is an arid desert, filled with deadly wildlife, and mountainous highlands. Despite their harsh environment, the people of Ikannam have prospered. Civilization dots the landscape from the oasis city of Nanket in the midwest, the diverse tribes of the Sotak mountains in the north, and the capital city of Kine-Ret on the eastern coast right on the delta of the Talenk river that stretches across the land. In Ikannams infancy, there were only nomadic tribes and there seemed to be no clear indication of unification. Within the last century, seemingly out of nowhere, the tribes centralized and developed at a spectacular rate. The people of Ikannam have harnessed the power of technology and most Ikannamites still don't quite understand how. Floating pyramids, Telekinetic abilities, and incredible strength are believed to be the gods channeling their will through the world around them. their prosperity and strength are unwavering.

With very few Fishmen still occupying the purple island, it is nigh impossible to capture any slaves. We do, however, secure one high-ranking blubmin, still dressed in elegant red robes of a conqueror. We torture him day in and day out for information about resources or our enemies, but he won't talk.

...

The ruler of the Parznippians instructs his most trusted vassal to tend to the matters of his people (not like he could really fuck it up worse than it already is, right?) Serrj secretly sets to sea with only a handful of battle-seasoned, expert sailors.
>>
Parznip x Hasdurn >>5568091
First stop is the coronation of King A. Nellsechs. Serrj notices many beautiful potential mates at the event, but they are all visibly disgusted whenever they set eyes on his literally twisted and pallid form. One foreign princess even calls Serrj a lanky manlet. Serrj tries modestly explaining that if you include his hairstalk, he's actually the tallest ruler in the room, probably the entire planet. The haughty princess scoffs and calls him a Parzlet and walks away.

While his ego was hurt, Serrj's heart was never engaged. The whole time, all he could think about was his love letter correspondent in Gauland.

Serrj snaps out of his love daze once the crown is placed on Nellsechs's head, and the room roars to a cheer. After the regal affair, Serrj approaches the King and asks him if he needs any help causing ruckus and general mayhem. Parznippians would be happy to help.

Parznip x Gauland >>5568042
After the Hasdurnite coronation, Serrj sails as quickly as possible to the foreign Gauland, where he instructs his sailors to stay with his boat, so he can meet with the lady in private. The sailors disobey their rulers command, saying that if he were to be hurt or captured, it would be on their heads. They live for Serrj and cannot bear to see him walk into the unknown.

Seeing the sailors' resolution to protect, Serrj stops arguing after an hour and insists "just don't tell her I'm a royal, I want her to respect and love me for who I am as a Parzn. I don't want to be loved for my comprehensive Lego Star Wars collection and towering piles of dung and fearsome reputation as a war cannibal. I want her to love me. She will be my queen, if I can see she has a heart of gold." After minutes of silently walking on the beach cliffs of Gauland, Serrj adds, "if she doesn't accept my hand in marriage, we will eat her. Just wait for the signal, though."

Approaching the arranged meeting spot, Serrj slicks his hairstalk back and asks a sailor how his breath smells.

"Like shit."

"Perfect!"

Time for the grand reveal and the first in-Parzn meeting of the lovey dovey pen pals!

There she is! Serrj's heart flutters and his eyes fill with tears, she's more beautiful than ever thought! A 500 lb. landwhale of a woman, Serrj runs full sprint, jumps and lunges at her, and hugs her tightly.

Was Egtikia expecting a Parznippian? Is she happy? Will she marry Serrj? Was that fat lady actually Egtikia? How does Gauland react to this? Does anyone recognize Serrj?

the poor civilian woman is both surprised and terrified by Serrjs action. after a pathetic attempt to get out of his grip she yells for the guards. a few words are exchanged and the misunderstanding is soon discovered: the woman is in fact not Egtikia. the guards take minutes to reflect on the situation, their heart tells them to immediately banish this disturbing looking assembly of men, which they are clueless on that it has the Parznippian leader. however in fear of upsetting their higher ups by starting an international incident they agree to escort them to Egtikias residence partly because they dont want them to walk the streets unobserved.
the road is not short, but comfortably traversable by foot. on the way every men and woman they encounter stares at them in silence. practically no Gaulandian has ever seen a Parznippian before and the handful that did prefers to not mention it. a young man vomits himself on sight too.
Egtikias house is a lawful, multi story building plastered perfectly white. a guard asks the group to stay put while he fetches the lady. she comes down with a wide smile that quickly faints to a poker face. Serrj takes a mental note of how she is not a landwhale. a few lines of introductionary small talk is exchanged when Egtikia excuses herself for a but. for the next 20 minutes what sounds like crying, breaking furniture and cursing the Gods can be heard. it abruptly stops then she comes back. what happened is that she remembered a folk tale where rich and handsome hero seduces the princess in beggars clothing to test her character. surely -she thinks- this is the only plausible explanation, this man wouldnt DARE to be asking for her hand otherwise.
to the greatest surprise of anyone witnessing, she says that wishes to get to know Serrj better before marriage, in the meanwhile whatever he has planned shes is onboard.

Hi guys, I've got update 11 here. Sorry if I'm missing your turns, I've got to read through seas of lore to find what I've got to do. If I could ask you to try to keep the stuff separate (lore vs move) or add a tldr for me that would be really cool. (also these low dice rolls are killing me, why does luck hate you guys so much)

The Imazeeb are now fighting a war on two fronts, as they have officially begun a military incursion into the Hasdurn Highlands, galvanized after an incredibly botched raid on their shores. The highlanders also attempt to open up a new front on the dormant Copernicans, however, the assault is so botched the Copernicans do not even notice. Qedar reclaims land in the north and begins to evacuate parts of their country across the sea to 17. The amount of deaths on both sides of the conflict is becoming untenable for both parties, as the already small populations have been devastated by years of prolonged warfare, but both parties stand to loose to much to just stop fighting.

As the Parznip homeland continues to become more and more unlivable, the monarchy officially claims all of 9, making the former colonial backwater the new national center stage. The amount of pollution produced at this point is unbelievable. Gauland sees a detente in the civil disruption in their nation, and the fifth build a pretty cool bridge : )

Serrj wants to impress Egtikia, but he's still reluctant to share his status. Sure, he could reveal to her a dung mountain a hundred times taller than her head, or have a statue carved out of your own royal dung, but where is the honesty in that? Where's the thrill of the hunt? Any woman in the world would fall to their knees at the sight of such things. Hmm...

Serrj hatches a brilliant idea! His great friend, King A Nellsechs, has invited him to travel through his countryside's highlands anytime he pleases! Egtikia will have to be stunned by the beauty!

Egtikia questions to herself why all of Serrj's ill-behaved friends are tagging along. The Gaulandese guards follow the same credo of the Parznippian sailors, following along Egtikia's journey on the principle that if anything were to happen to her, the Gaulandese people would punish them for dereliction of duty.

Road trip!!

On the sea voyage, Serrj keeps trying to sneak a smooch from the aristocrat's daughter, and failing. He is met by the stout Gaulandese guards, the extremely loud, colorful jeers from the sailors, and even a woman's slap quickly followed with a sincere apology.

Egtikia, the only woman on the sea for hundreds of miles, can't wait to get off the boat full of burly guards and foreign scoundrels. and touch shore in Hasdurn. What was she thinking?

The boat touches down in the Hasdurn Highlands, much to everyone's comfort. Serrj doesn't know what to do, so the group just meanders inland as sightseers.

Serrj tries proving his manhood and worthiness to Egtikia by climbing a cliff face, but he falls over after just a few feet of progress. He tries to lift a heavy stone, and craps himself, then angrily orders his sailor "friend" to save the dung. He picks a fight with the weakest looking Gaulandese guard, and loses miserably with a bloody nose.

Before long, the Gaulandese guards speak up for Egtikia and imply to Serrj that the hike, and the date along with it, is almost over; so whatever he has planned, he ought to get it over with.

Before ALL his charm wears off, Serrj drops the act and pulls every stop to impress Lady Egtikia, including disclosing that he is in fact the ruler of Parznip.

First roll is to charm Egtikia and the Gaulandese guards.
Second roll is to demonstrate Serrj's manliness in case ANYONE tries to test his mettle in the Hasdurn Highlands!

Gauland is still inclined to join the international trade they start experimenting with ship building. they have had row boats from the start of time and knew the principles behind basic sailing, but never bothered to better the technology. now however the goal is absolute perfection!
good news as it turns out it has a lot to do with mathematics, in which they are good at, bad news is, it requires expert craftsmanship in many fields, which they are not. the destination seems promising, but the road seems bumpy.

The Copernican Artificers have been busy…

Shorty before the sudden hostility at the north border by the “Waknakeens” (their language was evidently not very intelligible to the few that heard it spoken), there was a lone artificer prospecting for minerals. The artificer misstepped as he was scrounging around at the mouth of a rabbit hole on the face of a long-inactive volcano. He fell down through the rabbit hole to find a sprawling system of caves littered with red gems and black vines, geodes of blue surrounded by rough black rock and ribbons of gold.

Deeper in the caves he found channels of magma lined with a peculiarly volatile mineral. The artificer eventually fashioned an exit to the caves and would return to consistently for a few weeks, until the other artificers began to notice his habit for disappearing, and tailed him to the caves. From then on, word of the mineral-rich caves with the volcano spread throughout the land and soon enough, artificers all around the land began to trek to the volcano in droves, setting up brand new workshops and communities. The singular task of conquering the volcano and the riches within manifested an unprecedented, focused effort amongst the Copernican Artificers, leading to the development of their first city, “Copernica”. The city lay in the center of the land and, in the center of the city itself lay the basin of the volcano, which has since been converted into a massive fortress serving as the administrative center of the city. The slope of the volcano itself is now a sprawl of buildings that have been carefully carved from the rock, and the molten innards of the volcano have been worked into a grandiose mega-forge.

The Copernican Artificers emerging from the caves again recall that there is an outside world.
Many in Copernica have been tinkering with their shiny new minerals, and it has been discovered that the volatile mineral within the volcano is explosive when combined with powdered charcoal…

While Serrj is out having a ball, his vassal Jahn decides it's time to pay the original homeland a visit. When he sees a tribe of dung-smeared, deep purple priests in what is still Parznip's tallest building, he is met with hostility rather than brotherhood. To appease the island savages, he names the island "Parznip", and the continental part of the nation "Parznipia". Yahn returns home with no support from the island, or the true ruler of the empire, but he decides
>further conquest of Territory 9
ought to please him.

After venturing further into and
>conquering more of Territory 12
the purple Parznippians recreate boats from ancient/recent Fishman technology, and find more dumping grounds for all of their untameable mountains of dung.
>Parznip further pollutesbthe world, namely itself, Qedar, Imazeeb, and also the newcomer Ikannam
>Bonus to pollution action for being prolific dung creators and litterers?

Update 12!!! Thank you everyone for the TLDR it made this a lot faster to do. Now that everyone is getting settled in I'm going to start to create some more events to make this more interesting for everyone ( myself >:) )

The war in the south continent continues (we need a name for the continents already lol). The Imazeeb continue to make gains in Qedar, at this point only because of the international support they have gotten. Everything is not bright for the nation as Highlanders have landed their own forces on the northern coast, threatening the heart of Imazeeb. On top of that, the tribal nation continues to spread itself thin, expanding faster than its limited "bureaucracy" can. The Highlanders have had a massive shock as their northern neighbor, the shillarians started a military campaign against them to great success, capturing their coast and the Copernican-made roads.

Speaking of the Copernicans, it has appeared they have awoken from their slumber, possibly with new weaponry? The fifth build a dope church, and in Parznip the never-ending civil disorder continues (along with even more shit).

The whole world is at war, i wish there was a word for that... huh...

As the world continues to polarize factions of like-minded powers begin to appear, as well as many calls for peace within the people among the cries for war.

People, please make names for continents oceans, etc. I'll choose the coolest ones or ones with the most legitimacy (feel free to continue using your own endonyms for it but the chosen ones will be lingua franca)I

Facility Guard Bob "the Builder" Parker: Dr. Bright, i've found this book a few feet beyond our border! It seems like it was left there on purpose! It might be important!
Dr. Bright: Let me see. Star Signals ... (flips a page) The Light ... (flips a few pages) the Fifth Kindgom ...(flips a few more pages) looks like this book is referring to an anamolous object or entity ... and it says that this world may be doomed by the Fifth Kingdom if we don't contain it soon. Research Team 2, learn as much about this anomaly as we can! Send some spies into the Fifth Kingdom if you can ... after you find out where it is. Or we could kidnap one of their citizens, brainwash him so that he's loyal only to us, and send him back to the Fifth Kingdom as a sleeper agent. We got the equipment here to do that, right?
Researcher Jeff: We do, sir.
Dr. Bright: Alright, we're going with the sleeper agent option.

Name: UnderHive
Number: 34

Long slumbering in a cavern beneath the Imzahaaaran desert, an ancient queen from a forgotten age has stirred. Trying to find out what the fuck is going on the Hive Queen sends out some scouts in the dead of night to find out what's going on only to find out that due to a strange shift in the workings of the world, she cannot command her drones to the corners of the world as she once did. As such she spawns a new type of drone, a Synapse Drone, capable of carrying a link back to her and controlling a swarm in her stead as an arm controls a hand. The realization the she was near a nation of powerful mages and of a severe ecological event chills her to the bone and she begins to wake up the rest of her brood to prepare fortifications and begin the spawning of new drones.

Number of Nobles: 4
-Queen (Awake, Hive Mind Nexus)
-Lord (Much broader Range and Strength)
-Princess (Faster reproduction and better variety)
-Chief (Drones are much harder to kill)
Units
>All units can share certain traits with others in close proximity. Nobles don't get these traits. If the giver of the trait is killed the entire squad loses the trait and is shit out of luck.
-Workers
>Basic bitch units
>Can barely defend themselves
>Thank fuck they can harvest resources and build shit or they'd be worthless

-Warriors
>Kinda weak desu
>Look like a big twin-tailed snake with a crested face place and a single scythe blade on an arm
>Scary in big numbers
>Almost harmless in small numbers
>Quick reflexes, but no real armor besides head and arm before scythe
Tech level: Starting from mostly scratch again, makes new types of drones to overcome obstacles and in place of some technologies. Hive can't into computers but can into big brains.
Diplomatic Stance: Guarded but willing to Cooperate as long as territory isn't threatened.
Needs:
>To find the other Nobles somewhere else in the desert
>To build synapse towers to expand hive range (at least until Lord is found)
>To find more resources to build shit
>To build up defenses and army for defense
>To make new drones that aren't just slightly smarter or extensions of the hive will
>To try and stop the world from getting completely FUCKED again

>>5572608
More like modified Slivers from Magic. The Sliver Queen was sentient and capable of reasoning so I bumped up her intelligence, but the range on the sliver sharing ability wasn't too well explained in the lore and neither was the connection to the hive mind so I tweaked it to not be stupidly broken and at least at the start need infrastructure and special units to actually maintain it. Also added in a caste system because that shit's cool yo.
If anything they're slightly closer to Book Arachnids than Movie Bugs but still solidly within the terrifying hive mind trope.

Our search parties come across a couple weak veins of ore (mostly tin and zinc) that are just barely big enough to be called veins, a few minor caverns that could make passable breeding and mining locations for stone, and some good locations to set up fortifications albeit ones with little actual strategic significance. Great.
Maybe we'll have some luck in making diplomat drones capable of speaking to others as my last action this turn. We're gonna need some trade and allies if we're going to survive

A lot of war and diplomacy for update 13

The global war has spread its tentacles to more nations as now Parznip has invaded Ikanaam, over their threats to intervene for the health of the oceans. The Shillarians are smashed back to their border wall in the center of the highlands by a fantastic offensive, while the Imazeeb makes slight headway in the south. As for Imazeeb, they lose land to the Hasdurn and gain land against the Qedari, who continue their flight eastward onto Erdia. A new nation has joined the fray in Imzahaaara, an insection hive of some sort on the far-off Big Sea coast, bordering the declining Bajookieland. The northern uninvolved-in-war nations continue their quiet expansion, and someone finally noticed Teeni Esle moving around lol.

As for the planet's lore, it isn't a planet. I had in my mind it was an infinite flat world, like Minecraft, it goes down and up but you could literally walk east forever and never have to stop. And its name is 4chan Island Quest 8. (and the colors on the name map just indicate continent)

Let's start building fortifications and Synapse Towers, so I can more effectively search for the other Nobles and hopefully find out how much has changed about the area's climate since we went into hibernation. Also going to attempt another try at making a diplomat caste without the princess. We'll see how well that goes.

>>5572997
You're probably gonna either lose some guys, risk outside influence, or open yourself up for direct diplomacy without us needing diplomat drones.
>>
>>5573417
Would you be open to merging our hiveminds? if not the imazeeb welcome the direct diplomacy
>>
>>5573417
Oh wow that went so much better than I expected. We now have earthwork fortifications scattered across our territory and a fairly small, but broadly connected web of synapse towers stretching out across the desert within our borders that only has a few minor dead zones. Should probably start looking to see if there's another Noble in this tile or not and make some roads but that's for next turn to deal with.
Additionally, my attempts at making a diplomat drone are broadly successful.

-New Caste: Diplomat Drone
>Bigger than the others (around the size of a medium-sized dog)
>Can speak
>Cannot give other drones capability to speak
>Accidentally screwed up and gave them weird pedipalp-like feelers near their beak, but it doesn't interfere so I don't care
>Otherwise looks like a Worker

>>5573425
I wouldn't be opposed to direct diplomacy, but a merger would be out of the question. Can't risk another getting direct control over the swarm. Plus I don't know if it'd end up with a dissolution of others into the hive (see what happened with the Hivestone)
>>
>>5573430
A hasdurnite explorer goes out....exploring, and finds several Underhive Drones out in the desert

z.tldr : we know about you now
>>
>>5573433
We send out a diplomat drone to greet you and attempt to ascertain whether you are hostile. We also send a few workers bringing gifts of fungus and meat as a token of hospitality with a small cadre of warriors hidden behind some nearby fortifications in case anything bad happens.
Should things go well, we ask of the location of your settlements and if you know of any caverns with the other parts of the desert large enough for a sleeping hive to be within.
>>
>>5573521
Yes, there are great caverns, yet they are already occupied by our Myrmidonts, but as we are kind i will gladly let you see the caverns. yet i warn you, do not venture deep into the deeps tunnels, or intrude upon the Nectorium.
>>
>>5573531
We understand, and will gladly send a slither with a Synapse, some workers, and a diplomat to see if we can find any resources for you within these caverns (and communicate our finds to you), but we were more wondering about those parts closer to us as we are searching for our other Noble Parts. Our Queen is merely one of the four Noble Parts who command the hive, though she is the strongest and has the most sway. We are hoping you may know of the locations of the others or could help us in finding them should you stumble across them?
Also what is a... Neck-tory-um?
>>
>>5573558
A Nectorium, the heart of the hive, where the ancient gaurdian patrols, and where the larvae are born and mature
>>
>>5573430
Fair enough direct diplomacy it is. Currently we're in a very tense point in the world at the moment.

>>5573307
The imazeeb will send envoys to the ikannan and possibly offer assistance with possible hasdurnite attacks and whether or not they would be interested in joinng the WSA
>>
>>5573560
I see, so this Nectorium is similar to our Noble and Brood Chambers. Good to know and thank you for the warning. If you wouldn't mind one more question before we send our slither with you, what other lands and peoples might there be? We know of a land of mages to our east and you, but we sense severe ecological disruption and we don't believe you are the cause so we are interested in learning about others.

>I really wish Princess was here, flyers and swimmers would be great right about now...
>>
>>5573602
The imazeeb offers the underhivers the memory of swimming to see if they can learn from it?
>>
>>5572893
The state of affairs in the world right now is nothing short of dumbfounding to the Copernican Artificers, however we must remind ourselves to stay grounded in our core beliefs.

The Copernican Artificers revere those who take pride in their ability to create -- and in that regard, the Copernican Artificers would like to extend special acknowledgement to the Hasdurn Highlands, Qedar and Parznip...

...for their unparalleled pride in their ability to create **enemies***...

*If it is enemies they choose to create, who are we to deny them?*

>Create military academies in the cities of Copernica and Galilei to raise a professional army
>Open Copernican borders to all members of the WSA
>Offer aide to all members of the WSA, Ikannam included, should they agree to membership...
>Raise a department of alchemists to specialize in the cultivation of the "brimstone" that was originally found in the city of Copernica
>>
>>5573642
The hive senses the extended will of the Imazeeb neural network and sends a small slither consisting of workers, a synapse, a diplomat, and a small cadre of warriors to investigate the strange feeling and possibly find the source of it. While we have no way of absorbing memories ourselves, we would welcome them should the Imazeeb be able to give them to us, though direct contact would undoubtedly allow for direct contact from mind to mind later on. That being said, we do not know if the memory would help in our efforts without the Princess.

Update 14

A lot of decisive attacks this time around, as the Hasdurn push deep into the Imazeeb heartland, and the Ikannamis push the Parnzip polluters out of their own heartland. The Qedari nation yet again pulls off a fantastic defense in an ever more impossible situation. Parznip continues its polluting streak, this time bringing it to all new heights, polluting coasts across the world, in an absurd act of bioterrorism (destroying my pretty map with poop streaks everywhere). The fifth kingdom has managed to make a boat entirely out of the color pink (and cloth sails) and is now making it the flagship of their navy, likely soon to name it something along the lines of "BARF BRIDGE ROCKET UNSINK FLOAT MACHINE". The hive builds a series of fleshy towers and primitive defenses around them, as they continue to get a read on this new surface world. The Shillarians begin to retake some of the lands they previously occupied in Hasdurn, and the Copernicans build up their military infrastructure while sitting on the sidelines judging all around them.

I made the map using ms paint and a template I found on google, I saved it years ago for a different project, so I don't know where it's from, I think a paradox game. >>5574058

"Wake up, fellow ruler, your services are needed once more."

Rolling to see which Noble is reawakened:
1-Lord
2-Princess

>>
I think at the moment, size, development (buildings and whatnot), and numbers are how war is determined. I also take into account how spread thin a nation would be and how multiple fronts would affect things, like if you are being invaded 6 ways in your homeland and you are actively colonizing a new territory and invading a place, everything will be spread thin, and weaker. That sort has been how I've been approaching things. Even if you as the player rolled six 17s, if you were invading six different areas around the map expansions into those new territories would be super slow, and easier to defend against as well.
>>
>>5575033
This isn't to say you can't have a lot of things going on and still be successful, I just keep all of this in mind. Go on and add as many fronts as you can to these wars as you can, it's interesting for me lel

The Lord stirs and groggily demands to be left alone before I inform him that it's been literal ages, he hasn't eaten since before the current era, and the Singletons are fucking up the world again. He mentally sighs and quells his guardians, allowing our workers to breach the cavern and release him and his swarm from his vault. One down two to go.

With the return of the Lord, the range of the mind is significantly wider, capable of covering our entire current territory with merely 4 towers. given the abundance of towers there is effectively 0 latency and we begin colonizing into 35. I attempt to make a swimming drone and the Lord begins coordinating the drones to make their actions more efficient and their buildings less ramshackle.

A major success on my front, as a Shifting drone has been created.
-New Drone: Shifting
>Ampbibious and capable of breathing underwater
>Capable of swimming and diving to great depths
>Covered in swirls that break up silhouette and make it much harder to actually attack
>Can grant minor disruptive camouflage and amphibious swimming to nearby drones allowing them to be a bit harder to hit and capable of both swimming and breathing underwater
>Can't fight too well, but can see perfectly in water as though it was clear air
>Can't see shit on the surface though
On further testing something seemed... off about these drones so I sent them to the coast and let them investigate things. They ate a wide assortment of animals, shells, and plants, which was expected, then one sniffed and recoiled at the strange dung that washed up onto the shore. It sniffed it a few more times and nibbled it. Soon it and the others began tearing into the beached shit and cleaning up the beaches.
>Can digest Parznipian refuse with no ill effects
>Cannot taste the refuse either thankfully for the rest of us
That's a wonderful accident!

The Lord though... is still rusty from having just woken up and not doing anything in forever. He attempts to organize the drones but doesn't really manage anything

"Serrj! I'm sorry! I thought it would make other nations like us more if we continued giving them gifts and offering what we had unto nature, as the late Shavvo had done."

"Well, to be fair, no one ever really looked into the properties of it, everyone just thinks its refuse." -Yahn

"Shut up, woman," Serrj interrupts. "I've just had an idea, Yahn. Why don't we have a team of scientists investigate the properties of the dung!"

After weeks of eating the shit that washed up on our shores many of our Shifting drones are beginning to complain of minor intestinal distress similar to constipation. Eventually one of them manages to pass whatever was causing the distress. A small round nugget of some unidentifiable, indigestible metallic material passed put of the cloaca of the drone. Apparently it was filtered out of the refuse, but we have no idea what it can be used for yet. Thankfully we seem to have a near unlimited source of its "ore" on our beaches. Also, Serrj has been breeding Egtikia A LOT. They've made dozens and dozens of hybrid mutant children together already. They're uglier than the average Parznippian. They look like pygmy Gaulandians in every aspect except their lavender skin tones and massive, erect hairstalks. Their genitals are also gnarled like a Parznippian, allowing them to continue reproducing when they mature, but only with Parznippians or other hybrid mutants.

--Kine-Ret is satisfied, for his pyramid has finished construction! more must be built; in the name of the other gods, but we are one step closer...with these pyramids--perpetually mobile and completely distinct for a far as the eye can see--the people will be reminded of the gods power and influence...

a lot of icebergs but one could sail across it, so long as they don't sink in the process.

The tides of war keep shifting around our little world here, as the Hasdurn are pushed back in Imzahaaara while defending their homeland from the Shillarians. The Qedari yet again pull a great offense out of a bad situation, pushing Imazeeb away from their southern coast, all the while increasing the size of their frontline by moving into 41. The Parznip Kingdom begins to batten down the hatches, improvising defense waste in preparation for the global community's incoming invasion. The Fifth kingdom botches a stealth attack on the Sixth kingdom, managing to take only several coastal communities.

We colonize as many cavern systems within our territory as we can, each will be ramping up our growth and food production by a massive degree through breeding chambers and fungus farms. We continue to clean up the pollution on our shores through the use of our Shifting drones and have begun to amass a large stockpile of the strange material.
The Lord will be sending worker squads to probe as deep as we can into the caverns to see if there's anything interesting or valuable inside of them as well. He will also be sending multiple amphibious slithers (2 shifters, a few workers workers, a diplomat, a synapse, and a cadre of warriors) around the coasts to attempt to meet other lands and see how bad the world and water are.
I will be sending workers to create lairs for each of the Nobles within the hive, build an aboveground complex to welcome visitors and envoys, and roads between the hive and the larger caverns with many of the smaller caverns also being connected by virtue of being on the way.

Rolling to see how well the experiments with the material go, out slithers navigate, and if our surveyors find anything.
Also OP, we started to colonize into tile 35 last turn, I don't know how far we got so I just used the map from this turn.

It appears our workers don't have the necessary means to work with or do much with the material at all. We shall return to this at a later date.
Our slithers get lost multiple times due to the pollution but barely manage to make it to meet almost everyone but seeing the state of the Pashitfic Ocean has filled the entire hive with a deep, burning rage we could not hope to quell with such a low roll. The Parznip had better have a good explanation...
Our surveyors find some multiple veins of high quality copper, iron, silver, gold, zinc, bismuth, and many many more. We also find the entrance to multiple massive cavern complexes forming a sort of Underdark-like world which we can easily use for fortification and breeding. We also manage to find out that one of these cavern houses another Noble as our mind briefly touches their hibernating psyche. I reach out and awaken them.

The attack against the qedari
>>
Serrj Parznippian is entombed in a great shit pyramid with his living wife Egtikia. Much like his father before him, Serrj is reviled and hated across the world as he is put to rest. Unlike Serrj, however, the coronation of the new Parznippian ruler was not attended or even announced to other nations.

Serrj saw the dangerous and disgusting ways of his tribesmen, and genuinely enjoyed it for the most part, and realized this was because of his DNA. Still, Serrj understood the errors of his peoples' ways, and looked to right them. Thus, Serrj coronated his own hybrid mutant son he birthed with the Gaulandese Egtikia.

With a divided populace and with travel by sea now impossible, The new ruler, Daring Parznippian, knows what he must do to unite his people:

"5 more miiiiinuteeeeesss" the Princess hisses groggily. I roll my mind's eye and send her the info on the Pashitfic Ocean, the Lord's awakening, the state of the world, and the vast swarm we now have under our control. She perks up at first then simmers with anger and quells her swarm, allowing us to open her chamber and return her to the hive. A few moments go by before I nearly smack her.
"Oh? Queenie managed to make Swimmers and Speakers? I'm so proud of youuuuu~" says the Princess through the link
"Don't patronize me. I did the best I could on the Diplomats and needed help from an outside source on the Swimmers. Not you were around to help."
The Princess titters and slithers off to her lair to begin experimenting with new types of drones after asking the Lord to find specimens for her to research: animal, mineral, and vegetable. She has a few ideas and needs both some practical examples andthings to experiment on. The Parznipian material catches her eye as well, but she puts it aside for now as there are other things she wants to fo first.

The Shillarians would be very cagey, bordering almost hostile if you meet at the mainland. They would encourage any interactions diplomatic or otherwise to be at their trade island that's a little further south.
Other than the counterattack, Shillarians would like to start putting those factories to work and build a giant ballista codenamed "Pin Point".

On the shores of the Qedari, the Copernican, the Gauland, and the Ikannamis the same thing is seen. A small slither of serpentine drones with swirling patterns, some with a single scythe-tipped arm and some with two, and a crested faceplate with a beak emerges from the tide onto the shore. As of this moment we have no alliances.
We have begun exploring the idea of trading with the Shillarians for access to exotic plants, animals, and materials, but have not actually done anything towards it. Otherwise we do not have enough information on them to form an opinion other than they are very nice and flattering. Enough to be suspicious.
We are Cordial with the Hadrunites for the moment, though future information may shift that.
We are Cordial with the Imazeeb for the moment, though they have granted us a memory gift a short while ago and we have direct diplomacy with their leaders, and as such our stance is to wait for further certified information before changing our stance with them.
We are in the beginning stages of diplomacy with the Qedari and as such have no opinion of them yet.

We have not met any other peoples directly yet, but have heard of the Parznips. We have heard two versions of the story behind their ecological disruption and do not know which to believe: That they had no other choice and that they were guided into doing so by the Hasdurians. We do not have enough information to pass judgement on them yet, but as our scouts have made it into the Pashitfic Ocean we have seen first-hand the damage they have caused and unless given sufficient reason will want to wipe their stain from the land before cleaning up their mess and setting things right. The damage they have caused has given us a deep, burning sense of righteous indignation and offense close to becoming hatred should the extent be greater than we know and the reasoning insufficient.

We are willing to be peaceful to those who do not harm or endanger us. The Parznips have done that. We would like to know where you stand, what your alliegances are, what could be offered in trade as we have substantial material wealth and only desire exotic plants, animals, and materials, and whether you would be a threat or not.

>8 arms and two tentacles tipped with pesudopod-like semipermiable membranes capable of deep analysis of substances, tails are prehensile
>4 arms end in grasping claws for fine manipulation, the others in the usual scythes
>Smaller scales that fluoresce in sunlight and are iridescent, meant to disorient attackers
>5 heads, only one has a mouth and the rest are mostly brain and specialized sensory organs
>Capable of casually crushing a bus in tails
>Can take on aspects of any drone in the hive but does not share them to those around her or need them close

the Gaulandians are enraged by the behaviour of the Parznipians. their disgusting ways can no longer be ignored. and while a larger fleet would be ideal, there is no time to waste. our existing vessels travel down THE FIFTH SEA, following the river. on the way they stop on Copernican shores (>>5576131), telling them about our mission to stop the greatest evil on this world and ask them to support us by refilling our supplies. afterwards they continue to Erdian lake, where on the northern shore (tile 10) a camp is set up. the Tarnput (>>5576131) is asked to coordinate with our military efforts.

meanwhile in the home lands everybody prepares for war even tho as it stands the quantity of Gualandian ships is a bottleneck on mobilization. men start training, while many women asks for impregnation as a possible last gift from their husbands.

In recent times the tarnput have become isolated from global affairs. This is due to a civil war which errupted between its northern and southern temples. Now the northern temple, the more xenophobic faction, has won. And a revitalized fishmen nation now looks outside to new enemies...

>Invasion of the parznip colony
Fishmen soldiers, fresh from the combat of the civil war flood into the land border with the parznippan colony. Massacreing parznipans they come across and spreading fires to cleanse the land of unholy filth.

>Invocation of skyfire
The Tarnput have now learned to channel their worship of the gods towards a single one. Known as Ahsra, who gifts her priests with the ability to call down rains of fire from heaven.

It appears she had overlooked some fundamentals of flight. The edges of wings are not simply for drag but also give finer control. Additionally, the musculature has some finer details that she had overlooked. There may be more interaction with the air and water as well than meets the eye.
Her experiments with the material she has preliminarily dubbed Parznipite have gone fantastically. Rolling for number of special properties.

The material has the following qualities:
>Easy to work
>Extremely hard

>Very dense

>Blades made are obsidian sharp
>Highly durable
>Glides through stone like Adamantine
>Resistant to Magic
>Resistant to Psionics
>Biocompatible and actively works against implant rejection
>Has a minor sterilizing quality similar to silver but does not affect implant host
>Strands made are soft and capable of being worn as clothing with the qualities of armor

no, it was "somethin somethin digital knight". i dont remember the exact name and i cant find the copy i have loitering somewhere on one of my hard drives, but it was about a knight in a computer game progressing through areas of a tile based island map, trying to stop a wizard and save a princess.
i dont think you or for that matter anyone will remember it, because the way it ended was that i was the only remaining player still posting in the end game and when i had to leave for a weekend the QM decided to slap a very depressing ending on it.

also, while i never liked con/qst/ threads because they seemed to strict with the rules (technically i dont know because i never got really into them), but the gameplay in this qst is genious, exactly what i would love to QM, so sooner or later im making my own too

the Imazeeb has successfully banished a nation from THEIR continent, for now anyways.
the Qudari seems to be trying to compensate for their lost land by scattering to a new.
unless a miracle happens, it seems that The Sixth Kingdom will fall soon.
the Parznipian are creating the both largest and grossest bridge in history, mostly from trash held together by dung of course.
the UnderHive is gaining great powers, but so far it is uncertain for what cause.
the Ikanaam are having an inner age of prosperity, which they use to grow stronger by the day.
the Hasdurn home lands become worryingly short as Shillaria pushes deeper into them.
in the meanwhile the Gaulandinians are having an identity crisis over whether their continued existence are justified.

Stealth drones would be too weak and slow to actually do anything on a battlefield so I was purely going to use them for information gathering with a flyer and/or swimmer to get them out of Dodge should things turn sour and they can hopefully escape. Besides, there's a difference between good camouflage and invisibility. One can still be seen and the other is bullshit.))
Princess has, through exploration of Shiftinf drones, acquired some cephalopods and attempts to glean some information from them in the ways of stealth. Rolling for research, but not expecting a breakthrough.
We're going to once again expand into tile 35 as our population is growing large enough to make it a worthwhile endeavor.
We're also going to send a slither with a Winged, a few workers, a few warriors, a synapse, and a diplomat drone to the nations we did not have access to via the seaways (Bugu Bugu, Free Tribes, and Gnome Kingdom).
The Lord is going to attempt to increase the coordination of our drones again, as now he believes it may be even more worth our while due to the number of expeditions sent out and the number of teams we have working. Rolling for success.
The Queen will attempt to search out the last Noble to see if he is within our territory, if not then we will have to search out into the desert for him. Rolling for success.
>>
>>5579671
The research went much better than expected, but is still a long ways off. The study of the chromatophores has interesting and gave a better idea of how adaptive camouflage works, but texture changes are still a bit of a mystery as are the ways the specialized cells actually work. This is going to be awhile...
The coordination efforts went far better than last time. Where before they were organized chaos, slithering over each other and bumping into each other constantly, now it's almost like those synchronized walking competitions within the worker teams. Outside of those areas though, it's still pretty rough.
The Queen cannot locate the last Noble within our territory. Unlike with the Princess, there is no chance of him being within our lands due to the amount of exploration done. We will have to search elsewhere. Assuming he is still alive and in torpor after all this time.

its turn 20, we are near the bump limit (tho we are long past the permasage deadline) and most of the nations are abandoned. im thinking about a soft reboot of some sort in a new thread and open for ideas.
should some states be removed?
should i use a new map - a similar mock up of the american super continent perhaps?
maybe i could have a clean map, but "import" those states who show up, give them a similar starting size and copy their icons?
or i could disallow making new counties, but give a comprehensive list of existing one for players to choose from.
any input is appreciated.

with such a wide frontline you should be specifying whether you are attacking the north or the south of it

A soft reboot would be cool, though you'd probably want to choose one of the americas instead of the entire super continent. If this map was the entire World Island that is the combined African and Eurasian continents we'd be here for 3 years and no one would contact each other for the first half of year 1.
That said, if we do reboot I'll switch it up and not go hive. I have other ideas that would be just as weird or dumb as the ones I had planned for this one.

We are going to send out a search party for the final Noble to see if they are nesting within our colonized territory or just outside of it.

Nope, didn't find him.
Oh well, Princess is going to try to make spies after all the research she's done.
Lord is going to see if he can develop his mental strength more and cut down on how many towers we need in the future.
Queen is going to speed up reproduction within our colonies again, we might need warriors. But probably not.
We are also going to get some roads started above ground between our synapse towers so we can more easily repair them if needed.

Literally everything we did goes bad.
The Princess' attempts go wrong. Ranging from not being able to control their pigmentation to giving everything around them epileptic fits. Weirdly enough, the texture shifting did work perfectly though. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
The Lord almost gives himself an aneurysm but manages to stop before anything too bad happens to him.
The Queen fucks up badly and accidentally hampers general reproduction due to a misjudge of hormone releases.

The imazeeb would be willing to help if you let them?

You can't help on the drone front. That's purely a bio-manipulation failure, not really something that can be helped. Like making a firework with all the research but none of the skill or that single day you accidentally put a bit too much gunpowder and didn't think right and put on your steel tips. The Lord was just a bad roll though.

The imazeeb make a beeline for the cities to break qedari resistance! NO MERCY!

Doft reboot would be cool, you can also set up some sort of mechanic where instead of declaring an attack and rolling a d20 you can have people build armies and thet get that many dice to roll when attacking someone. Really just stops the whole declaring an attack kinda deal and making sure people just don't go full perma war

>have people build armies
yeah i guess, ill think it over
>>
>>5583327
with naval warfare its kinda obvious: 2 ships > 1 ship
so i might as well do the same on armies: they are quantifiable and represented on the map. each one gives you +1d20 and they have to be made explicitly
Shillarian style battle bonuses are also cool.
