I would generally put my work more with styles like Miura's, murata's, Shirow masamune's and tetsuo hara, with over the top men, and women that are either more close to life or even slightly boyish. I'm exclusively talking about stylistic choices, I have much to learn. I think it's worth stating, arrogance looks good on no one.
I made a chart a while back showing a rough idea of how I draw my men and my women in comparison...

>>56003 It's just a bias. Most western artists tend to mix western influences into their work because that's their preference. They aren't interested in trying to draw "legit" anime at all. If they really wanted appear eastern they can do it without problem. There are plenty of anime artists that you can't tell they are western until they start speaking english. The ones that come to mind right now are pretty small so I won't name them.

>>57423 Yes, drawing is a very mental task. Anyone can get rusty. It's kind of like competitive gaming, haha. You won't forget everything if you haven't done it in a while, but if you don't keep in good shape you're going to underperform.
Artists also sometimes get a mental block that makes you straight up forget how to draw, like a stroke. I think it tends to happen more often if you don't draw frequently. It's no joke. Even good artists have one of those bad days once in a while.
