o
South Africa launches operations against Zimbabwe
o
Zimbabwe pass on the policy mistakes?
{1
The Zimbabwe army has invaded S.Africa across the
border and has been accused by the international
community. In recent years, Zimbabwe has deepened
it's isolation, especially from the U.K., the
former rulership country. It's because they have
plundered and confiscated white farms forcibly
seized and distributed to the black citizens.
{2
The farmland that was subdivided by the white
banishment policy stopped the irrigation
function and hindered agricultural production.
It was also badly attacked by drought. Crops
such as tobacco, which is the main export
agricultural product, continued to fail. The
people and the government was on the verge of
{3
collapse, with hunger and a large balance of
payments deficit. The Zimbabwe government turned
its attention to an economically rich neighboring
area, South Africa, to divert the public's eyes
from the failure of domestic affairs. "This is a
rebellious act against the black people."
Originally South Africa has possessed the most
powerful and mechanized modern army on the
{4
African continent. However, the South African
government has shrunk the defense army because
of the political stability of southern Africa.
Further, many troops of the defense army are
constantly monitoring borders for illegal
immigrants and supporting police in urban areas
where security is deteriorating. Therefore,
{5
even if an armed conflict occurs, the South
African Defense Force has few mobilities to
mobilize, and the Zimbabwean government and
the military have determined that Zimbabwe, which
is inferior in equipment, also has a chance. The
Zimbabwean government forced the white farmers
and poor people who took up farmland in the
country to be expelled to South Africa as
{6
refugees, but it seems that special forces and
guerrillas were mixed in it. The South African
Defense Force Intelligence Department believes
that the conflicts currently occurring in South
Africa and Lesotho are the instigation of these
operatives. However, the Zimbabwe government
denies no involvement.

Operation name: Rainbow
{1
The Zimbabwe army infiltrates guerrillas and special forces mainly in
Transvaal. Their tactics are very similar to what the current
administration has done against the Rhodesian government during the ZANU
(Zimbabwe African National Alliance). The South African Defense Army has
more sophisticated equipment and experience than this time for this type
of war. Unlike apartheid era, there is also a backing of the
{2
international community. Now, your mission is
to quickly advance into Zimbabwe territory and
take over the capital. Unlike the Rhodesian
liberation era, neighboring countries have also
clarified that they will not support Zimbabwe's
guerrillas or special forces. Therefore, if the
capital is conquered and the current government
is pursued, the situation seems to be heading
{3
for recovery. In our air force, the first squadron of the latest
state-of-the-art Gripen fighter has just been formed, and air control
right can be easily secured. In addition, since the enemy's anti-aircraft
weapons are poor, sufficient ground support is possible with the newly
introduced Hawk training aircraft. You will join the mechanized unit that
ended in the vicinity of the capital Pretoria with the air force cover
{4
and the army battle school
instructor close to the Zimbabwe border.
Control the enemy at once. Please note
that there are still many enemy
guerrillas lurking within our territory. I
understand the operation name is "Rainbow,"
but it was named after the "Rainbow Nation"
of South Africa.

1) Destroy the headquarters in the suburbs of Harare
2) In addition, capture or destroy the capital Harare
