Installation

To play this product, it is necessary to install the game program and data stored on the CD-ROM on the hard disk. Please proceed according to the following explanation.

Installation operations

1. Turn on the peripheral device and then the PC, and start Windows XP / Me / 2000/98/95. At this time, if there are other running applications or resident programs, close them.
    2. Set the CD-ROM of this package in the CD-ROM drive connected to the machine. When set, the setup program is automatically started by the auto-run function.
* The setup program may not start automatically depending on your machine or its environment. In such a case, open the CD-ROM drive icon from the desktop or Explorer and double-click AutoRun.exe to execute it.
    3. When the startup screen appears, click [Install Game]. The setup screen is displayed.
    4. Read the contents of the screen carefully, and click [Next (N)]. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    5. When the files are copied from the CD-ROM to the hard disk, the program folder and icons are created according to the settings made so far. Click [OK] when a message is displayed informing you that setup is complete. The installation is now complete.

DirectX8 setup

If DirectX8 is not installed, follow the steps below to install DirectX8.
     1. Insert the CD-ROM of this package into the CD-ROM drive connected to the machine and start the setup program.
     2. When the startup screen appears, click [DirectX Setup]. The machine settings are analyzed and installation starts as necessary.
     3. When the installation is complete, restart your computer when prompted.

About DirectX8

DirectX8 is additional function software for WindowsXP / Me / 2000/98/95 developed by Microsoft.
By using DirectX8, it is possible to use high-speed screen drawing functions and network-based battle functions on Windows XP / Me / 2000/98/95, and to make the most of the performance of various sound sources. (Of the multiple functions of DirectX8, which function is used depends on the product).

Notes on using DirectX8

For information on DirectX8 compatibility and support for your PC and peripherals, and how to obtain DirectX8 compatible device drivers, contact the manufacturer of each device.
* The device driver is a program for operating the PC and peripheral devices, and is supplied from the manufacturer of each device. DirectX8 compatible devices and device drivers are required for DirectX8 to function correctly.
    • DirectX8 compatible device drivers for major models are included with this product. However, the device driver corresponding to the device you are using may not be attached, or the latest device driver may be newly provided by the manufacturer. Check with the manufacturer in advance.
Especially for display device drivers, use the latest DirectX8 compatible device driver as much as possible because the driver greatly affects the drawing speed.
    • If you are using a device driver that does not support DirectX8, installing DirectX8 may cause the following symptoms. Be sure to use a device driver that supports DirectX8.

Uninstallation

Uninstalling means deleting an application that was copied to the hard disk during installation. However, if the directory name is changed after installation, uninstallation will not be performed normally. be careful. The following explains how to uninstall “Great Strategy”.

Uninstall operation

1. Click the [Start] button and point to [Settings]. Next, click [Control Panel].
    2. Double-click [Add / Remove Programs] in [Control Panel] to display [Add / Remove Properties].
    3. A list of applications that can be automatically deleted is displayed at the bottom of the [Setup and deletion] column. From there, select "Large Strategy" and then click Add / Remove.
    4. A dialog box to confirm file deletion is displayed. Click [Yes].
    5. A window with [Delete Program from Computer] will be displayed, and the “Big Strategy” will be automatically uninstalled. Click [OK] when you are notified that the uninstallation is complete.
This will delete all files related to “Big Strategy” from the hard disk.

Launching the game

Use the following procedure to start “Great Strategy”.
    1. Close programs that are always displayed on the screen, such as Japanese input tools, system agents, and resident programs, and programs that generate interrupts internally.
    2. Set the CD-ROM of this package in the CD-ROM drive connected to the machine. When set, the setup program is automatically started by the auto-run function.

* A product CD-ROM is required to start this product.
    3. When the start screen is displayed, click [Start Game].
    4. The game starts and the opening movie starts. Click the mouse during playback to skip the movie playback.
    5. The initial screen will continue to appear on the opening screen.

Notes when playing

    • Do not display the IME (Japanese input program) toolbar.
    • Do not use the mouse pointer animation function.
    • Do not switch applications using shortcut keys.
    • Set the screen saver and power saving functions so that they do not function.
    • Do not use simultaneously with other applications.
