He could barely see, but could make out her small form huddled against a rock wall, her knees tucked to her chest. The air felt hot, humid and stifled, and it was difficult to breath. He thought he could smell sulphur. He made to stand, but his knees felt shaky and his legs unsteady. Where were they? How did they get here? He limped over to nine year old Abigail and gently touched her shoulder. She yelped before looking up to see him, and sprang to her feet, crying into his chest. Isaac looked around. "Where are we, Abby?" He asked, but she only shook her head and wept. Isaac realized his clothes were torn in places and he felt dreadfully tired. His sister needed him though, so he slapped his cheeks lightly with his hands and forced a smile as he pat her head. He took her by the hand. "Stop crying, Abby, we'll be okay... Come on. Let's look for a way out of here." He took his young sister by the hand and together they walked through the darkness. They walked for a long time, and Isaac could hear Abigail sniffling as he guided her through the rocky caverns. He couldn't remember how they could have possibly gotten down here. Did they fall down some hole on the surface? It didn't make sense. Isaac thought that he could faintly hear the sound of screaming echoing down the halls, and this made him shaky and afraid, though he told himself it was his imagination. After some time they saw an opening in the rock wall ahead and to the right of them. Red light seemed to pour into the cavern from it, and something about it terrified Isaac, though he couldn't say why. He left his sister for a moment by the rock wall, telling her to stay still and be quiet, before creeping up to the hole which issued out cold air and peering through it. He saw a massive monster, half-frozen in ice from the waist down, with three faces and bat-like wings. It seemed trapped there, its hulking form immobilized as its three faces gnawed on something, crunching and gnashing it between its razor sharp teeth. Isaac stood horrified as he stared through the opening, and realized those were legs poking out from the monsters three jaws. He could hear men's screaming issuing from the monsters mouth, and the screaming would not stop. The monster seemed to not notice Isaac, but its many eyes were looking around ceaselessly, and as one passed over the hole he stared out of, Isaac dropped down and pressed his back against the stone wall. He could not process what he just saw. Was that Satan? What did he just see? He didn't realize it until he looked over at his young sister, but he had begun hyperventilating and crying. "What's wrong?" She asked, near tears seeing the state he was in. He could not let her see this. He reached down, and pulled a strip of thick cloth from his torn sleeve, and wrapped it around her eyes. "What are you doing?" She asked quietly, shaking. Isaac hugged her and said, "Do not take that off, Abigail. Whatever you do, do you understand? Keep that blindfold on until I tell you. Take my hand, okay?" Abigail nodded, terrified, and Isaac took his blindfolded sister by the hand. He crouched low to avoid the hole in the cavern wall and guided his sister towards the end of the cavern, where a stone staircase was carved. He absolutely must get Abigail out of here, no matter the cost. With a grim look of determination, he squeezed Abigail's hand reassuringly, and began walking with her slowly up to the next level of the Underground. As he reached the top of the stairwell to the next level, he saw
