Overview

CALIO (also referred to as C.A.L.I.O — Compliance Analytics Layer for Insurance Operations) is a browser extension that helps you review public U.S. SEC EDGAR filings. Filing contents are processed on your device. We do not operate a filing storage server and we do not sell personal data.

Data we process

• Public filing text: requested from sec.gov, data.sec.gov, and related SEC hosts when you search companies or extract a document. Processed locally in your browser / extension. Not uploaded to CALIO servers.
• Local preferences: settings such as optional account email, product-update opt-in, mail client choice, sidebar state, and usage counters — stored in Chrome extension storage on your computer.
• Extract history & watchlist: stored locally so you can reopen recent extracts and monitor companies you choose. You can clear this data from Preferences or the app sidebar.
• Optional email: only if you enter and save an email. Product updates are sent only if you also opt in. You can remove the email and clear local data at any time.
• Usage counters: local monthly/hourly extract counts to respect SEC fair-access guidelines and product limits.

What we do not collect

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not run advertising trackers inside the extension for third-party ads.
• We do not require a CALIO account for core extract, compare, or export features.

Permissions

• storage — preferences, history, watchlist, usage (on your device).
• tabs / windows / scripting — open the app and run extract on EDGAR pages.
• downloads — Excel and PDF files you request.
• alarms / notifications — optional watchlist monitoring.
• Host access to sec.gov, data.sec.gov, and efts.sec.gov — public EDGAR data only.

Third parties

When you use CALIO, your browser contacts SEC systems (for example data.sec.gov) to retrieve public filings you request. That traffic is subject to the SEC’s systems and policies. CALIO does not control SEC servers.

If you open a share or mail draft, your chosen mail client handles the message. We do not operate that mail service.

Data retention & deletion

Local data remains on your device until you clear it in Preferences, remove the extension, or clear site/extension data in Chrome. Optional email is not required; remove it anytime.

Children

CALIO is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the product if you are under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
