Where to get the game: CN -> https://blhx.biligame.com JP -> https://apkpure.com/アズールレーン/com.YoStarJP.AzurLane KR -> https://www.apkfollow.com/app/byeogramhangro/kr.txwy.and.blhx/ EN -> https://apkpure.com/azur-lane/com.YoStarEN.AzurLane (or app store) EN status: Currently EN is pretty much in sync in terms of new and old content, all thats missing is a mini-event and some war archives. The old translations were bad but for the last year or so the translations have been acceptable besides some spelling/grammatical errors + the occasional meme. BIND YOUR FUCKING ACCOUNT. IT TAKES 30 SECONDS TO BIND YOUR ACCOUNT TO TWITTER OR TO GENERATE A BIND CODE. EVERY TIME THE APP UPDATES SOMEONE SEEMS TO LOSE THEIR ACCOUNT BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING LAZY AND/OR STUPID. DON'T BE THAT GUY. Binding on JP server https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Account_Binding#Binding_by_Twitter https://i.imgur.com/WW0OTBI.jpg Binding on CN server https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Getting_Started ENGLISH WIKI https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Azur_Lane_Wiki For the most part up to date and accurate, usually takes a few days to add new boats but is the best place to look first if you have a question regarding a boat or how to get them CHINESE WIKI https://wiki.biligame.com/blhx/首? It's better than the english wiki but it's in Chinese, only really use it for equipment recommendations for specific boats and even then you can just ask /alg/ /ALG/ WIKI (OUTDATED) https://alg-wiki.com/shiplist Has animation viewers for L2D skins and the Chibis but isn't maintained anymore. --- BEGINNER INFO --- NEWFAG QUICKSTART GUIDE - https://files.catbox.moe/s565cm.png This guide is intended for newfags and gives advice on ships and equipment that are easy to get and are good. Do note that this is for permanently available and easy to get boats/equipment and not necessarily the BEST equipment Q: Do I start on EN, JP, or CN? A: Since all the servers are on parity content wise, it's mostly a matter of translations/knowing the language. If you know English play on EN, if you know Japanese and are picky about translations than play on JP. CN now requires a Chinese ID to play so JP is recommended over CN. Q: Will I need to have a translations tab open all the time if I want to play on JP/CN? Do I need to know the language to play it? A: You'll need the wiki during your first days to know what's what and possibly somewhere to ask questions but you really shouldn't need the wiki after your first week (or less) of playing because its very easy to figure out what button is what. Buttons have English text on them ( https://i.imgur.com/bylBc2Z.jpg ) or a helpful icon that tells you what you're going to get if you tap it so its very easy to get around the game even if you don't know a single Japanese/Chinese symbol. Q: Can I use an emulator? A: Yes. The current recommended emulators are Bluestacks and Nox, note that default Nox is a mess so you want to debloat it. If you want to transfer from playing on your phone to an emulator you just log in to whatever method you binded your account to while in the emulator and select the same server bluestacks - https://www.bluestacks.com/download.html nox and how to debloat - https://gist.github.com/Log1x/12d330ef7685d6fbc611d1d57efb5c29 Q: Which starter do I pick? Which ever one you like the most. AL is fairly easy and the starters are all good, but if you really care then Ayanami>Laffey=Z23>Javelin. On EN you get Ayanami from Max Limit Breaking all the starters while on JP Ayanami is available at the beginning and instead Z23 is the reward from MLBing the starters. Q: Should I reroll? A: Rerolling isn't really recommended since the game is easy and can be beaten with pretty much any boats + the game gives out lots of cubes to roll with so you're never really hurting for good ships with the 7% SSR rate and occasional free picks. Q: I don't want to fuck up as a newfag, what are some important things to keep in mind as I'm starting out? -Gems are best spent on dock space and 4-5 dorm slots, the 150 dock limit is crushing after a few months and the dorm space helps level your boats. -Only spend cubes on event banners, outside of events just roll once in light construction, it pays for itself due to the daily mission to do 1 roll and gives 1 cube. -If you don't want a boat or already max limit break'd one and have extra copies, retire them for medals which can be used to purchase SSRs, gold bulins, and other goodies in the medal exchange under the build menu -don't forget to enhance your boats with common fodder, it provides a nice boost in power. -you can combine t1 white and t2 blue boxes up a rarity to T3 purple boxes, do this since white and blue gear is trash and purple is usually when gear becomes decent enough. -upgrade your gear to +3 or +6 early on, but don't go further since purple plates are hard to get when your new and you're going to be replacing that crappy gear with better gold gear later. -unless you're 3 starring a map, just head straight for the boss everytime it appears, you gain nothing from killing more mob nodes than needed -For events, hard mode is unlocked from the start so if you feel your boats can handle the hard mode maps, you can do them without needing to clear the normal event maps first. Q: Help, I can't beat , what should I do? A: Limit Breaking your boats gives huge boosts to power, if you're having trouble early on then limit break your boats and try grinding some levels on a lower map since you get +2% damage and defense for ever level higher your boat is compared to the enemy, so a boat 20 levels higher has an extra +40% damage and defense against the enemy in addition to the stats from leveling up. Q: What fleet composition should I be using? A: Early on, it doesn't really matter and you can use whoever you want since level difference + limit breaking determines how strong you are, not composition. You only really need to start thinking about fleet composition in world 12 and 13 but they then you'll know what you're doing. You also do not need to have a full fleet, as you get stronger you'll find yourself able to use less boats in a fleet and do just as fine, this is recommended since the less boats you use in a fleet the less oil you're using. Q: Does ship order matter? Yes. The leftmost (in the formation screen) frontliner is the lead and the boat that will be taking the majority of the damage and is therefore the tank. The rightmost (in the formation screen) frontliner is in the back and takes the 2nd most damage, usually not in too much danger but don't try and stick a glass cannon here. the frontliner in the middle is the safest and where you would put your squishiest boat. The only slot that matters in the back is the middle which is the "flagship", if the flagship dies then you instantly lose + some boats have skills or barrages that require or want the flagship central position. Q: What's affection? A: Affection is how much a bote wants the shikicock. Real answer though, once you get to 90 affection a ship will receive a +3% bonus to her stats. Once at 100 affection, she will have a +6% bonus, and she will then become ringable. Post-marriage, she will have a 9% bonus to stats and raises the affection cap to 200 - which, once you hit 200 affection, she gets a full total of +12% bonus to stats. Q: How does one get affection? A: Several ways. You can make them your secretary, and she will gain 1 affection every 6 hours, until she hits 90 affection(in which case she will gain no more from secretary), you can put her in your back yard and she will proc hearts that will give affection, or you can actively use them in battles. Each S rank completed battle gives a ship 0.06 affection points, if they MVP they will receive 0.12 affection, instead. Q: What's the difference in ammo types? A: Each class type of gun will have different multipliers for different ammo types against different armor types. Check this chart for more info: https://i.imgur.com/MncgH2O.png Check the wiki to see which botes have what armor ratings. But as a general rule, DDs and CLs have light armor, CAs and CVs have medium armor, and BBs have heavy armor. --- SPECIFIC QUESTIONS AND GUIDES --- Equipment Info: Q: What does [stat] on the equipment screen mean? A: Read this: http://himeuta.org/showthread.php?11455-Azur-Lane-Equipment-Basics-Guide Q: What's the best equipment for [ship]? A: The Chinese wiki has a section for specific recommended equipment on the page of each boat. If you don't want to use the wiki or it's out of date, this is the generally best equipment to use https://files.catbox.moe/doi3r0.png Q: What is clearing mode? A: When you 3-star a map and bring the threat level down to safe, you unlock clearing mode for that map which gives you free movement, eliminates ambushes, and enables fleet lock (fleet lock lets you instantly enter battles rather than get a fleet formation screen when you enter a node). Currently every single map and event except for world 13 has clearing mode. Note that for daily hard mode (NOT event hard modes) it lets you skip straight to the boss, no mob nodes appear. Q: How does anti-air work? What's this "backline" AA and "frontline" AA thing I've heard about? A: The range and fire rate of your AA is the average taken from all the boats in the fleet, so if you have 3 fast firing long range AA guns and 3 slow firing short range AA guns it averages out to a middling speed and range. The AA of your individual backline ships affects the damage they take when an enemy plane reaches them. Q: How does air power work? Why are some CVs better than others? A: Read this: http://himeuta.org/showthread.php?11487-Azur-Lane-The-Ultimate-Guide-to-CVs-and-Air-Combat Not all CVs are good at the same thing. For example, one of the best CVs in the game, Unicorn, has mediocre/bad offensive capabilities but amazing support skills that give more reload to the frontline and heals them when she launches airstrikes. Q: What is air superiority? each map has a recommended airspace superiority (ACV) value shown at the top right of the fleet selection box before you enter a map, you gain ACV with carriers, the higher the level the more they give + some carriers naturally give more than others. Having ACV higher than the recommended value increase the damage your carriers do, decreases the damage your boats take from enemy planes, increases accuracy, and decrease the ambush rate. Having lower than the ACV does the opposite, you do less damage plane damage, take more plane damage, have lower accuracy, and get ambushed more. Not a huge deal on lower level maps but it's still good to have + almost necessary on world 12 and 13 https://files.catbox.moe/nhtr7r.png - chart which gives ACV values of carriers. Tierlists: Q: What ships are the best for PvP/PvE? https://files.catbox.moe/c2agzo.png the resource section of the OP usually has the latest tierlists for both equipment and boats. While for the most part these tierlists are fine, they do have bias and sometimes wrong information so if you're ever unsure or unclear about how good a ship is just ask in the /alg/ thread. Leveling and Dorm: Q: How do I level boats quickly? A: Dorm + 10 hour commission is the best way to level up passively, however you can't use boats that are on commission so generally you put boats you want to use later on commission rather than ones you're using now. For manually leveling boats, 12-4 gives the best XP while still being easy enough. Q: How do I get food? A: medal exchange, shops, missions, and rewards. If you ever run out you can click the + and buy some with oil. NOTE - you should only buy curry or whatever the current equivalent is, curry is the only food that can be bought with oil that also gives an XP boost, the royal gourmet and full meal also give an XP boost but cost gems. Q: Okay but what's comfort level? A: Comfort is generated by furniture, which you buy using furniture coins. It's pretty complicated, so just read the details here and keep in mind that you do NOT need to place furniture to get it's benefits, as long as you bought it, it's giving a bonus: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Living_Area#Comfort Q: How do I get furniture coins? A: Run those commissions and tap your boats. It's a slow process and not really something to worry about. However if you NEED some furniture coins right now for a limited set you HAVE to have, then pay a visit to akashi. Farming guides: Q: Where do I find [equipment] or boats A: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Equipment_Drop_Table https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Ship_Drop_Table NOTE - some equipment can not be gotten from map drops or equipment boxes, referred to as PR equipment, see "PR and Research" below Q: What is the best way to farm equipment and boats A: boat drop rate is equally on ALL nodes including the boss, the only thing the boss node affects is that it guarantees a boat drop if you S rank it. Equipment Blueprint rarity IS affected by the boss and elite/siren nodes though, elites and bosses have a higher chance of giving higher rarity blueprints. In addition, try to use fleets with as the lowest amount of boats possible since the less boats you use the less oil you use, letting you farm for longer. 1 backliner and 1 frontliner is the most oil efficient. Q: My ships have a green/orange/red face icon on them in the sortie screen/dock, what does this mean? A: Their morale has gone down from you using them too much, this affects their affection and XP gain. It comes back over time and putting them in the dorm or marrying them speeds up the recovery rate. Crafting guide: Q: How do I craft [ship]? A: Check the wiki: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Building - if the ship you want isn't listed she may be drop only. This link also has all the crafting timers, so you know how long a ship will take to craft. Q: [Ship] was a time limited craft, will she ever come back? A: Most likely. After events are ran and reran, they get archived and the boats are put into permanent construction, although this can take a year or more to happen after the rerun. The only boats that most likely are not going to be re-obtainable are from the collabs like neptunia, underwater ray romano, and Hololive however collab boats do not affect collection %. Boxes: Q: I got a box, what's inside of it? A: It has equipment for your boats in it. Read up on the details here: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Equipment#Equipment_Boxes Remember that you can combine 5 boxes of one quality into 1 of the next quality up to tier 3 (purple.) If you no longer need tier 1 (pink) boxes, upgrade them to tier 2 (blue) and the same goes for blue boxes if you no longer need blue equipment. Q: How do I level skills? A: Go to the tactical classroom and feed skill books. Try to always use books that have the same color as the skill since you get a 50% bonus to it. You can only level two boats' skill at once, unless you pay up for a third slot. Resources: Q: What are these blue/purple/gold icons that have ships on pieces of paper? A: Blueprints. They're for retrofitting. On applicable ships that have retrofits, on their character screen there will be a new and foreign button of an upward pointing arrow with swirly bits around it. That's the retrofit screen. Bonus note: You can combine 6 blue blueprints into 1 purple blueprint of the same type. Q: How do I get retrofit blueprints? A: They only drop upon clearing boss nodes in hard mode maps. Some points to remember: - You can only do 3 hard mode runs per day. - You get 2 retrofit BPs per clear. - the map affects what type of retroprints appear, X-1 gives destroyer prints, X-2 cruisers, x-3 Battleships, and X-4 carriers. - You get core data from clearing hard mode runs. - If you've 3-starred the map and maxed out the defense buff, only the boss node will spawn. - For more info, check this page: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Combat#Hard_Mode -San Diego and Warspite require an event-limited item to complete their retrofits, while not unusable without them, they really want to be completely retrofitted to become excellent. Q: I'm running low on oil, what do I do? A: Your fleet consumes too much oil. Oil consumption is determined by 3 things and 3 things only: ship rarity, how many limit breaks the ship has, and the ship type itself. The higher the quality and the more limit breaks, the higher the fuel cost. In terms of fuel cost per ship type, BBs are the most expensive, then CVs, then CAs, then CLs, then DDs. The difference is huge between a maxed SSR BB and a LB0 normal DD. You don't need to field a full fleet to combat if it's overkill. You can remove ships and save oil, but obviously in turn your fleet is weaker. Balance the two out and consider what ships to use for what mission. Q: How do I get more money/oil? A: Oil and gold can be passively generated by your buildings. Upgrade them if you haven't already. Read more here: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Academy If you're impatient and don't mind whaling you can also just buy diamonds then convert them to more oil and gold in the jewcat's store. Lecture Hall: Q: How does this thing work? A: Exp that your boats get once they're fully limit broken will be stored in the Lecture Halls's exp bar. The stored exp can then be divided between up to five boats in the lecture hall to help them level up. Do take note that boats that are in the lecture hall cannot be in the dorm as well. Q: Wait, why can't I put this boat in here? A: The lecture hall has a schedule for the classes held in there. Each day a different boat type can be put into the lecture hall. Repair ships can go to the class on the same day as Cruisers and Destroyers. Classes are not held on Sundays, instead you get 2x exp gain for the lecture hall. See the schedule and other details here: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Living_Area#Lecture_Hall Cats/Offinyaa/Meowfficer: GENERAL MEOWFFICER GUIDE - https://imgur.com/a/F017dvu Q: How does this work? A: You buy cat boxes from the Jewcat for 1500 gold a pop. The first cat box that you buy each day is free and you can only buy 15 cat boxes per day. There are three types of cat boxes: R, SR, and SSR, which give out R, SR, and SSR cats respectively. Once you have a cat box, you can choose to unbox it and wait however long it's needed to unbox. Once that's done, you have a cat. Q: What do they do? A: Each cat has a unique skill and at least one randomly generated ability that give small buffs to the fleet that they're attached to. Cats gain exp when the fleet that they're attached to wins a sortie and every 5 level they get a cat paw that can be used to either upgrade an ability that they already have or generate a new ability. You can also feed other cats to them to help them level up. Q: How do I level up a cat's skill? A: You need to feed them dupes of themselves. Level 1 to 2 takes one dupe, while level 2 to 3 takes 3 dupes. Skills are maxed out at level 3. Q: Is there a tierlist for cat abilities? A: https://files.catbox.moe/aor4as.png Q: Is there a tierlist for cats? A: Cats that buff your favorite fleet composition > Cats that don't. Q: Is there a list of all the cats available and their skills and abilities? A: https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Meowficer#Cat_House PR and Research: Q: What's this research thing? A: You spend gold/cubes/plates/do the listed task and wait until the research is done. Once it's done you get PR Blueprints for your PR boats as well as blueprints for equipment. Note that thare are 3 SETS OF RESEARCH (noted by the roman numeral on the top left of the research) which are based off the 3 sets of PRs. If you want neptune prints then you would want to research PR1 researches while if you want Mainz prints you would want to research PR3 researches. PR blueprints can also be acquired from event point shops, these prints can be converted into prints for any of the PRs. Q: What are PR boats and how do I get them? A: Paper boats. They all have high stats but require a special mini task chain of their own to construct. Once they're constructed instead of improving them through limit breaking like normal boats you use your blueprints to increase their development level. https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/Research Q: Whats the difference between PR1, PR2, and PR3? A: PRs are broken up into sets but you can freely choose and research any of them in any order you want as long as you have the necessary fleet tech/# of boats to unlock them. The only difference is that when your researching a research from a specific set, you have the chance to get blueprints for only the PRs of that set. Q: What are PR equipments A: along with each set of PR boats there were gold/rainbow equipments released which can only be gotten through getting equipment blueprints from research. Here is a guide for what equipment is in what set of PR and which ones are good - https://files.catbox.moe/pzmwkn.png Submarines: Q: What are subs? A: A separate third fleet that automatically acts as support for your main fleets, both in and out of combat. You unlock them once you clear 3-4. They'll damage enemy nodes in range and you can call them into battle if they're in range, if you want to move the sub fleet itself either because theres no enemies nearby or you want them for a boss battle, you can manually move them for oil. Q: How do I get subs and sub gear A: Subs are in special and sometimes event construction. Sub gear is gotten through the sub weekly + doing SOS missions. Q: SOS missions? A: Basically normal missions but with the addition of enemy subs. Enemy subs will never appear outside of these sub missions or the occasional event boss. You can get these missions by launching a sonar scan from the map selection menu. At first you only get one map per scan, but as you finish more sub missions, you'll get more per scan. Scans are time limited so you can't just scan continuously. Q: How do I fight enemy subs A: Submerged subs can only be hit with the depth charge and hedgehog. All CLs and DDs have a built in sonar and depth charges that detect and hit enemy subs, but you'll want to equip better depth charges or the hedgehog if you want to deal lots of damage to them. NOTE - sub bosses that appear in events do not require ASW equipment, they automatically surface after a minute and are then hittable by your standard weapons and planes. Q: Anything else to know?
