Death to Facebook!

Postby Chase Ricks » Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:46 am

I am personally going to murder Facebook with my own imagination! Their newest security protocol requires you to give them the first six numbers of your debit card just so you have proof nmo one else is using your account but you. Then the site sends a chat message to all your friends as you saying they need to register their accounts to avoid them being deleted forever!

It is just one step after this to paying for usage of Facebook!

I have Facebook and I have not received such message. How could they anyway? Majority of teenagers who use it don't have debit accounts.

It's a scam. Come on, use common sense here.

Two things to keep in mind:
(1) If anyone anywhere anytime asks for your credit/debit card number unsolicited, it is a scam.
(2) Facebook gets its revenue from advertising. Why would it kill the goose that lays the golden egg by chasing away users?

Pros of Facebook
  • Communicate a message to all your friends quickly
  • share photos, videos, urls easily
  • asking for help from the general public. (you don't know how many times I've asked a homework question over Facebook and gotten a quick answer from a classmate)
  • self expression

Cons of Facebook
  • Privacy. If you don't have your privacy settings set right, any stranger can see everything.
  • Jobs and colleges sometimes look at what you post to see what you're like in your downtime
  • It's easy to forget who is able to see what you post and get in trouble for a post.
  • Addiction. There is actually a medically defined addiction to Facebook
