Is there a type of handcuff that can change from front to behind without taking them off.

Depends on if you can swing your arms under your bottom or not

If the chain isn't extremely short and you have decent flexibility you can step over the chain and get your hands to your other side. Otherwise you have to take them off and put them back on again.

Yes there is; the ones with detachable chains; aka cheap plastic toy handcuffs. Of course, once you do that the handcuffs stay on but they won't connect to each other any more!
Okay, seriously; they DO make real steel handcuffs with detachable chains - which are connected to the cuffs by padlocks. Of course, you still have to unlock the padlock and then re-lock it, but hey - unless you're Houdini or Plastic Man that's the best you can hope for!
Here's a link to one site I found offering the things. But the site offers a wide selection of cuffs that detach. You can search for other selections from this page.

Warning; some selections show people using them who are NOT clothed very much (I chose one that shows no nudity however)!
I'm just the messenger though; I can't attest to to the reliability of their products; I've never used them.
