gay tv shows/movies

Postby mikeybound » Sun May 09, 2010 1:47 am

i noticed a lot of people on this site are out. how about we all share our favorite tv shows and movies centered around homosexuals and their lives. feel free to share.
Favorite show - Queer as Folk. this is a great show for the GLBT community! it's like a soap opera, only they sucked out all the dramatic cheesyness and made it sexy! don't be fooled, thouh. it has some deep and relevant storylines.
Favorite movie - Latter Days. this is a great example of gay movies (not those kind, you dirty pigs  ) a Mormen named Aaron meets a gay party boy named Christopher boy who lives off one night stands. he saves his soul not through god, but by making him fall in love. and despite his faith and church, he returns this love. it's sad and romantic and kinda funny. scenes like when Chris beats a couple of bigots in two on two basketball make the movie awesome!

There is an older movie with River Phoenix and Keanu Reeve called "My Private Idaho" that you may like if you're looking for gay movies. Here is a link to its wiki:

"Billy Elliot" is a good movie too (if not actually a gay movie per se) about a boy who wants to get into ballet but has fears of his sexuality; especially as he has a gay peer-age friend. Here is it's wiki link:

Some of you may not believe me but I have NO right to judge. I may not like something but if it is not violent; peaceful; and based in love, it must be good - again, I have NO, "right" to judge. Bless all loving, non-violent, peaceful peoples.

I just saw an awesome German movie called "Summer Storm". It had English subtitles, which is only annoying for the first ten minutes or so. There's no gay sex or anything, but the guys are HOT! You can get it through Netflix.

Strictly hetero here but hey, if it works for you :-) Besides, one of my cousins is gay - what will I do, not love him? Of course not!

You would never be in any danger of being struck or hit by me. There's no excuse for violence! You're safe with me and, if you wish to believe it, also safe from lots of other straight men. We love you and accept you, just the way you are :-) Just the way you are!

This is surprising. As long as someone's posting again, I found out Brothers and Sisters has a good romance too.

Never watched Rumpole of the Bailey so know little about it, but I am fairly sure there was nothing overtly gay about Columbo - unless you're either engaging in some kind of stereotype or meant to post this in the favorite TV show thread instead.

You all should try "The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV-Zzasrky8
And here is the full movie.

This lovely film explore and emphases a lot of gay stereotypes but the force of this movie is that it do not show gays as sinners or deviants. It does not make them martyrs without any flaws like in "Philadelphia", but teaches that gays are just people like others.
And the OST just rocks !
