Sailor's Daughter: False Front (Final Part posted.)

Postby Chaos846 » Thu Sep 01, 2016 12:54 pm

Part 1: In this part, The girls get a huge shock. Also, Katie has a meaning full evening with her Dad.

Sunday, November 12th.

----Katie----

Okay, so what I'm about to talk about really doesn't have any relevance to the tale I'm about to tell you, but I could not in good conscience leave this out.

It was Thursday on November twelfth, and My friends and I were gathered in Lucy's room to watch the Nintendo Direct broadcast on her computer.

“That new fire Emblem game looks like it's gonna be fun,” Sam said, as we watched the reveal of Fire Emblem: Fates. As we continued to watch the broadcast, we then saw something that all of us got excited for.

“Hyrule Warriors on 3DS!? I exclaimed. Out of all the games we love to play, there are some that we're good at, and some we aren't that good at. Hyrule Warriors, however, is a game we all love and are good at. As you can imagine, we were all really excited for this to come out.

“It looks like we're getting some new characters too,” Lucy added, as we continued to watch the presentation. All in all, it looked like twenty sixteen was going to be a good year for us as far as our games go. At the end, The Nintendo Representative said his final piece.

Thanks for watching today. We'll leave you with one final update. I sense a new trailer approaching,” He stated. Lucy called it instantly.

“Oh, we got something for Smash. What is it?” She asked, and then the scene played out. The stars scanned past the screen. We then saw the Smash 4 Logo appear on the screen.

“Well, you were right about it being Smash Lucy,” I said. All of us were tensed up in anticipation. We then saw the X. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. Let me tell you, when we saw that Final Fantasy Seven Logo hit the screen, we were flabbergasted.

“WHHHAAAATTTT!?!?! OOOHHH MMMYY GGOODD!!!” We all shrieked, or something to that extent. Along with quite a bit of screaming and squealing.

“Did they really!? Did they really!?" Linda was asking. We then saw the man take those steps onto the stage. This was followed by a shot of the Buster Sword.

“CLOUD'S IN SMASH!! CLOUD'S IN SMASH!!” Sam screamed. We then finally saw on the screen: Cloud Strife storms into battle.

We were beyond ecstatic. In fact, we were all so loud that Lucy's Mother came up to the room to see what was going on.

“What's going on here?” She asked, from the doorway.

“Oh, sorry Mom,” Lucy answered. “Um, Cloud from Final Fantasy was just revealed for Smash.”

“That's fine, but try to keep it down please,” She requested. She didn't seem too upset which was good. We all then turned our attention back to the screen. It looked like the trailer was over, but nope.

“They have his Limit Break!?” Sam asked aloud. We then saw the actions being presented.

“That is very cool,” I complimented. We then saw a new stage being revealed as well.

“Yes! They're bring Midgar as the stage,” Sam stated.

“My question is: Is it a legal stage?” Lucy asked. We then saw the stage being played out.

“Lucy, I don't think that stage is legal,” I said flatly, and Lucy nodded her agreement. She frowned a bit when she saw that Ike was chosen as the victim of the Omnislash attack, but the overall presentation had us very excited.

“I think Sam's going to be switching to a new Main character pretty soon,” Linda said. Sam's hands were over her mouth in shock. She just nodded yes to Linda's statement with wide eyes fixed on the computer screen. final Fantasy Seven has been her favorite game for a long time, and to see her boy, Cloud, in Smash was almost enough to give her a heart attack.

Anyways, I just want to say that Cloud being revealed as a character for Smash was huge, and I wanted to share our reactions as well. Now that I've cleared that up, I'll skip to the following Monday...

* * * *

Now, let me ask all of you a question. How many of you have been kidnapped? It can be real, or fantasy. Let me see a show of hands please....That many? Okay then. Now, was being kidnapped ever required for another rescue to work?...Uh huh. That's actually what was about to happen to me.

Monday, evening...

Dad and I had just finished up with dinner, and I was sitting at my computer desk looking over a few Christmas gift ideas on Amazon. Dad and I like to plan ahead when it comes to Christmas, so we start preparing our lists at the beginning of November. I was still dressed in my school uniform by the way.

I was leaning my left cheek up against my left hand while I browsed the website. I looked at Amiibos, games, and all sorts of other things that I don't remember for my friends at first. I then started looking for things for me to put on my list. After looking at a few Amiibos, games, and a few other things that I don't remember, I decided to look at apparel type items.

I looked at a few witty T-shirts, along with a couple standard type polo shirts. One can never have too many uniform shirts after all. But, there was one page that I just kept revisiting. It featured a polo shirt that looked very cool. I'll post the link right here...

https://www.amazon.com/Ariat-Womens-Sho ... ariat+polo

The one I was looking at particularly was the Navy colored one. I just happened to stumble upon this shirt right around the beginning of the month, and one look was all it took for me to put it at the top of my Wish List. (Sure, call me silly all you want.) I was really hoping to get one of these for my birthday which was coming up, But I also put it on my Christmas list just in case as well.

“Katie, may I come in?” Dad asked, from behind my door.

“Yeah,” I chirped. He came in and saw me at my computer.

“What are you looking at here?” He asked, and looked at my computer screen. “Is this the shirt that's on your Christmas list?”

“Yeah, I'm hoping that if I can't get it for my birthday, then at least I have a shot at getting one for Christmas,” I sighed. Dad nodded.

“Well, I already have something planned for your birthday, but I'll get Santa on the phone, and I'll see what we can arrange,” He told me. I chuckled a bit. At least that relieved my anxiety. I then looked back at the page one last time, and closed my browser.

“Are you ready for us to head down stairs?” I asked.

“Yep,” He said. He then left my room.

I removed my uniform, and put my clothes into my dirty laundry hamper. I buttoned my shirt back up before I put it in hamper though. I then got dressed in my black gym shorts, and my matching sports bra. Next, I dawned a couple sweat bands, and got out my MMA gloves. The last thing I did was tie my hair back into a pony tail. I then grabbed a hand towel, and headed down stairs.

“It feels so good to be doing this again,” I told my Dad, once we were in the basement. Yep, I was back to doing my karate and aikido exercises again.

“Let's see if you still have it,” Dad declared, and within seconds, the fists and feet started flying. I ducked under a few kicks from Dad while he blocked a few of mine with his arms. I could tell he was going slow though. He wanted to ease me back into my rhythm, and not push things too fast. I performed a back handspring, and got a little distance. We then paused for a second.

“Come on Slowpoke, step it up,” I challenged. Dad snorted.

“You asked for it,” He snarled, and the limbs started flying again. Dad was much faster this time. He let me be the aggressor though, and took a defensive stance. I tried a thrusting kick at his chest, but he caught it, and pushed me onto my back.

I kipped back up, and raised my arms to block a roundhouse kick from him. I then swatted a punch away, and aimed one of my own at his face. This was a mistake, and I knew it just after I had thrown it. I knew he was going to catch it, and he did.

With one very swift move, Dad caught my wrist, and with a twirling motion, he was behind me with my hand behind my back. I did the one thing I could think of to escape it. With my other arm, I aimed my elbow at his face. He had that scouted as well, and yanked my other hand behind my back as well.

“I knew that was a bad idea,” I said, as I was panting rather heavily.

“It wasn't a bad idea, but it was a bit obvious given the position I had put myself in prior too,” Dad explained. “I am however glad that you're not second guessing yourself as much.”

“Thanks,” I said. “Can you let me go now?” I then asked, as Dad still had hold of my wrists.

“What's the magic word?” He asked back, in a sly tone.

“Please,” I moaned. I then felt Dad release his grip. It was a good full hour lesson, but by the time it was over, I was ready to hit the sack. I brushed my teeth, and got out of my sports gear. I then got dressed my pajamas, I let my hair back out, and went to bed for the night.

Note from Katie: I'm just wondering, should I mention whether or not a tie up is going to occur in any given part?

Ah yes, a new series to enjoy. Oh goodie.
One thing i noticed, when Katie mentioned her school uniform. Back in "Summer Home Stretch" they talked about removing uniforms and adding a dress code in its place. Was that idea scrapped after the story?

Besides that, very much looking forward to this.

Note from Katie: No, it is a dress code. I just still call it my uniform for convenience. I can call it my outfit instead if that helps.

Author's note: That's right. No forth walls here.

Just letting people know that part 2 is ready, but I need to make sure that my dates are correct.

Part 2: In this part, we learn a bit more about Kelsey at school. Also, Katie has an interesting Math session with Linda's Mother.

So yeah, it was another typical school day. After I got about halfway through my classes, I was very happy when lunchtime rolled around. I sat down at an empty table, and enjoyed my food. Within a few minutes, my friends soon followed.

I had on a pair of black leggings along with a khaki skater skirt. (One of my favorite combos.) Linda had on a plaid skirt. Lucy was wearing a pleated black skirt, and Sam had on a pair of skinny jeans. As for our shirts, we all decided it would be fun to wear matching polo shirts. They were all dark green with short sleeves. It was rather chilly inside, so we all had our jackets on as well.

“Oh I know that look,” Lucy said to me, once she saw the expression on my face.

“It's been a bit grueling for us too,” Sam said, as she sat down next to me. Linda nodded in agreement. I then saw Kelsey walking over. She was wearing a white polo shirt with a blue sweater over it, and for the first time since I had met her, She was wearing a skirt - A gray one in fact. This meant I was able to see her prosthetic leg much more clearly. She must have lost her leg above the knee, because the artificial leg had it's own knee.

“Getting a good look?” She asked us, seeing that my eyes were pointed at her leg.

“Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out how it works,” I said.

“It's actually quite simple. When I put pressure on it, the knee joint locks in place,” She said, and then demonstrated for us. “Try and move it,” She requested. I reached out my hand, and tried to bend the knee, but she was right. It held firm.

“Those things are so cool,” I said, which made Kelsey smile.

“So, how are your classes going Kelsey?” Sam then asked her.

“Meh,” Kelsey responded, with a shrug.

“Yep, that's about what I was expecting,” I groaned, which got a chuckle from my friends. Linda looked thoughtful for a minute, and then proposed an idea.

“Hey Kelsey, would you like to join us at my house for our homework session today?” She asked. I perked up upon hearing that. I thought it was a great idea.

“Oh, um, I appreciate the offer, but I'm starting up some yoga classes right after school today,” Kelsey answered.

“You do yoga?” Lucy asked.

“Well, not yet. As I said, I'm starting today. There's a new place that just opened up near where I live, and my folks and I agreed that it would be a good thing for me to try out,” Kelsey explained.

“I think it'll be great for you. It'll keep that leg active, so that it doesn't deteriorate,” I chimed.

“You got it,” Kelsey said back.

“Ah well, perhaps another time then?” Linda asked.

“I'd love to,” Kelsey said, with a smile.

After School...

We were having our usual group homework session at Linda's house today. Unlike most weekdays, Mr. Trotter wasn't at work today, as he had taken the day off. The reason is simple. My Dad visiting in order to help him build a new, more powerful computer. Now, you might be wondering: "Why isn't your Dad at work either?" My Dad's work schedule is four days on, and four days off. So it doesn't really follow a week in the usual way. This is day off number one for him this week.

Dad and Mr. Trotter were upstairs in the office whereas we were seated at the table in the playroom. Linda's house was also a lot warmer then the school buildings, so our jackets were hanging from the backs of our respective chairs.

“I think that's all of it,” Linda said, as we finished up our homework. Sam, Lucy, and I looked things over, and nodded in agreement. Linda's mother then rounded the corner into the room. She then smiled.

“You four look so much like Company Executives right now,” She stated. We all chuckled.

“It was Linda's idea that we all wear the same shirt,” Sam claimed. Linda looked at her mother, and just shrugged.

“Did you need something Mum?” She then asked.

“Yes, I need Kaitlin actually,” Mrs. Trotter answered. I looked over at her.

“What's up?” I asked.

“I need to see you in private,” Mrs. Trotter said. I blinked at her. I then looked at my friends with a slightly worried look on my face. They looked just as confused as I was.

“Did I do something wrong?” I asked.

“Oh, heavens no. I just need to see you alone in one of the guest rooms,” Mrs. Trotter stated. I blinked a bit. At least I wasn't in trouble, or anything like that, but my worries weren't quite resolved yet.

“Um...okay,” I said, and followed her upstairs.

We passed by the room that Mr. Trotter and Dad were in, and continued into the guest room. Mrs. Trotter allowed me in first, and I noticed a couple of unusual things sitting on the bed: A Measurement Tape, along with a pencil, and a note pad. Linda's Mother then closed the door behind her.

“So, what's this about?” I asked, as I clasped my hands behind me.

“It just so happens that there is a particular gift that your Father wants to get you for your birthday,” Mrs. Trotter explained. “However, before he can do this, he needs a particular set of measurements that require you to partially undress.”

“Oh. That explains a lot,” I said, now understanding the reason for this. Dad always took my measurements when I was younger, but I'm now at an age where a man, (even if it is my Dad,) doing this would be considered...not okay. Remember Dad's reaction a while back when he bumped into me while I was wearing just a towel?

“If you don't feel comfortable with doing this, I won't force it upon you,” Mrs. Trotter insisted.

“No, it's fine,” I said. “Besides, you've already seen me in my swimsuit, and this isn't much different,” I then stated.

"That's true," Mrs. Trotter stated.

“I guess it's fairly obvious that he's getting me some type of clothing, but now I'm very curious as to what type,” I said, as I took off my shirt. My skirt and leggings soon followed.

“You'll see soon enough,” Mrs. Trotter said, with a sly nod. I felt a bit awkward standing there in front of Mrs. Trotter in just my undergarments, but she didn't even bat an eyelash at it. "I need you to relax your arms," She then requested.

"Okay," I said, and let my arms go limp. Mrs. Trotter then picked up the tape, and went to work.

Based on the way she was holding it, I was guessing that she was measuring in centimeters. She did the usual suspects such as the waist and chest, but a few confused me. I don't remember what they were, but I do remember the last one being around the base of my neck of all places.

“There we are. All done,” she said, as she wrote down the last number.

“That's it?” I asked.

“That's it,” Mrs. Trotter chimed.

"Okay then," I said, and then put my clothes back on. Mrs. Trotter had what she needed, so with that, we both then left the room.

I rejoined my friends in the playroom to see them sitting on the couch with the Wii U had been turned on. Hyrule Warriors was the game of choice.

“Did I miss anything?” I asked.

“No, we just started,” Sam answered.

“Hey Katie, what happened with you and Mrs. Trotter?” Lucy asked.

“Oh, It was about something for my birthday,” I answered. I figured that the details weren't important.

“Oh, Okay,” Lucy responded, with a shrug.

I was still wondering why Dad asked Linda's Mother, of all people, to take my measurements. My only guess is because he knew the both he and I would be here, and because she was an adult, as well as a woman. It also made sense in the fact that she could give him the measurements as soon as he and Mr. Trotter were done with the computer.

Sam and I watched as Lucy and Linda attempted to get the Hard Mode Skulltulas throughout the Free Play Missions on two player. With each mission being completed, Linda and Lucy would hand the controllers to Sam and me, and we'd take a crack at the next one.

Yep, this was a pretty good Tuesday. It was tomorrow where things went a bit south. Not for me though, but for someone else.

Part 3: In this part, Suspicions rise over a vanishing act.

I woke up a bit late the next morning. I grabbed a towel from my dresser, and took a shower. After my shower, I dried and combed my hair. I then got dressed for the day. I chose to wear a dark red oxford shirt with a gray sweater over it, a pair of blue jeans, and my black trainers. I then went down stairs to get some breakfast.

Dad was seated at his usual spot in the kitchen with his coffee.

“Morning Sunshine,” He greeted.

“Mornin,” I greeted back. I then poured myself some instant oatmeal. We didn't really talk much. I just ate my breakfast. As soon as I was done eating though it was time for us to go. I had just enough time to rinse my bowl out, before I raced upstairs to grab my backpack, so that we could leave.

* * * *

The classes today were much more forgiving then they were yesterday. Anyways, it was lunch time again. I saw Lucy, Sam, and Linda sitting at a table next to the window, and I walked over to join them. The all had worried looks on their faces.

“It just doesn't make sense to me,” I heard Lucy say.

“What doesn't make sense?” I asked.

“Kelsey isn't at school today,” Linda said. She was right, that was kinda strange considering she hasn't missed a day yet.

“Maybe she got sick,” I suggested.

“No, I talked to every School Official I bumped into, and they told me she never called or anything,” Lucy insisted. I blinked a bit. This was indeed a mystery. Kelsey didn't strike me as the kind of person who would just skip a day of school. I had also thought that maybe if she was feeling sick that maybe she forgot to call, or simply couldn't. I ruled that out given the fact that someone would have called for her. That is unless she was alone which I highly doubted.

“Well, I'm sure there's an explanation,” I said. “And I hope She's okay,” I then added.

“So do we,” Sam said.

* * * *

So, I'd like to take this time to apologize for all the cuts taking place. It's just nothing you'd find interesting is happening in them, other then stuff I've already mentioned before. Anyways. Homework took place at my house today, and my friends all left for home just before dinner time.

Dad had decided to get a pizza for dinner this evening. As I ate, my mind was still on Kelsey not showing up today. My friends were right, it just didn't make sense. I thought about bringing it up to Dad, but I didn't think it was worth it yet. I wanted to wait and see if something came up first. I didn't have to wait very long.

I was in the middle of loading the dishwasher while Dad was in the restroom when I heard the doorbell ring. I washed my hands, and left the kitchen to answer the door. I was greeted by Officer Peterson. He was dressed casually which told me that he wasn't on duty at this time.

“Hello Mr. Peterson,” I greeted.

“Hey Katie,” He greeted back, in a rather dejected tone. I could tell something was wrong.

“Is something wrong?” I asked, as I allowed him inside.

“Yes actually,” He responded. (Uh oh.) “Is your Dad here?” He then asked.

“Yeah, but he's in the restroom though,” I said, looking back into the house.

“Was in the restroom,” My Dad said, as he entered the living room. “Hey Dale, how are ya?” Dad then greeted, and both men shook hands.

“Not too well,” He said. He sounded pretty upset.

“What's wrong? What happened?” Dad inquired as we all sat down. Officer Peterson chose a recliner while Dad and I sat on the couch.

“Well, it's one of my friends who lives on the same street as me,” the Officer explained. “Her Daughter was kidnapped yesterday.”

“Oh no,” Dad and I both said.

“Who was it?” I asked, already having a hunch on who the victim was. I was just hoping I was wrong.

“A young girl by the name of Kelsey Ryan,” Officer Peterson sighed. I felt my body temperature drop by a few degrees upon hearing that.

“Raven hair? Prosthetic leg?” I inquired.

“You know her?” The Officer asked me.

“Yeah...We met right at the beginning of the school semester, and she's been a pretty good friend to me so far,” I said, and then let out a loud sigh. “Now I know why she wasn't at school today.”

“Katie, if you know anything about this, then please tell me,” Officer Peterson pleaded.

“I'm sorry. I only know she was missing from school earlier today,” I said. “She told me that she was taking up yoga yesterday, and that's the last time I had heard from her.”

“Unfortunately, that's not much for me to work with,” Officer Peterson sighed. I was now starting to have bad flashbacks of last summer's little event. I was trying to push those awful memories from my mind, but in light of this, they all started flooding back again.

“I take it the investigation isn't going too well,” Dad guessed.

“No, I'm drawing blanks here,” Officer Peterson said. “I went through all the usual methods, but we always seem to end up back at square one again.”

“So, try some unusual methods,” Dad suggested.

“That's why I'm here Jeff,” Officer Peterson groaned. “This is one of those call-the-police-and-she-dies kinda things.”

“I take it you're asking for my help?” Dad asked.

“Yes I am,” Officer Peterson sighed. I was happy to see Dad grinning.

“I'm always up for a chance to outsmart a bad guy. You know that,” Dad said.

“You're in?” the Officer asked, with a glimmer hope crossing his face.

“For one of Katie's new friends? You bet I'm in,” Dad declared. “What do you need from me first?”

“I need you to take a trip with me out to the Ryan's place,” Officer Peterson instructed.

“Just give me a minute to get ready,” Dad requested. “Oh, and Katie?”

“I'm already calling Sam,” I said. I needed to see if I could spend some time over at either her house, or at Lucy's while Dad was gone.

“Hello,” Sam greeted.

“Hey Sam, it's Katie,” I greeted.

“Something up?” Sam asked.

“Yeah, Dad's going out with Mr. Peterson, I was wondering if I could hang with you while they're gone,” I requested.

“Yeah, sure,” Sam answered.

“Great, I'll see you in a bit,” I said.

“Hold on a sec,” Sam then said, before I could hang up. “Have you heard any news on Kelsey yet by any chance?” She asked. I paused for a second. Do I lie, or do I tell her the truth? I opted for option B.

“Yeah, I did, but I'll tell you when I get there,” I said. “See you in a bit.”

“Okay, bye then,” I said. With that done, I'm going to let Dad take over, and tell you his story, as it explains things a lot better.

Part 4: In this part, Kelsey's Mother does some explaining.

----Jeff----

Yes, I'm back again. So, yeah, Dale and I were on the road for about a good twenty minutes when we stopped at a two story house that was in very good shape. The lawn was cut short. The bushes looked nicely trimmed. I followed Dale up the stairs, and he knocked on the door.

The door was answered by a woman who was about the same age as Lucy's Mother. She was average height, with very long brunette hair. She had a round face, and a pair of brown sad eyes.

“Please tell me you've found something Dale,” She pleaded.

“Unfortunately not, and that's why I've brought a friend with me,” Dale answered, and he then looked over to me. “Madison, meet another good friend of mine: Jeffery Narrows,” Dale then said proudly. Kelsey's Mother and I then shook hands.

“I've heard of you. Dale told me about what happened with you and your daughter,” Madison said. I also noticed a hopeful look in her eyes.

“Yes, and I empathize fully with what you're currently going through,” I said, and we walked inside. Dale and I sat down in a couple of chairs in the living room while Mrs. Ryan got all of us some water. She then sat down across from me.

“Anyways. Madison? Why don't you tell Jeff what you told me,” Dale had suggested. I could tell that the poor lady was having trouble gathering the courage to speak about it again. I just sat patiently. Reciting things like this is never easy.

“It was like any other day,” She finally spoke. “After school I took Kelsey to her yoga class. The place had just opened up, and we decided it would be a good exorcise routine for her given her current condition.”

“Yeah, Katie told me about that,” I said.

“Katie?” She then asked.

“She's my daughter,” I explained. Madison then nodded in understanding.

“Anyways, I dropped her off, and headed home to check my stock investments, and do some house work,” Madison continued. “It hasn't been easy with Mark gone.”

“I'm guessing he's your husband?” I asked, and she nodded yes. “Where is he?”

“He's in the Marine Corps, and he's been overseas for almost a year now,” She then told me. That was all I needed to hear to know he was a good man.

“Have you told him what happened yet?” I asked, and she shook her head no.

“No, among other things, he doesn't always have the internet access to talk to me,” Madison said. I decided this would be a good time to get back on the topic at hand.

“Anyways, you said that you were doing house work,” I said, trying to ease her back to the original conversation.

“Yes, and I was halfway through the vacuuming when it was time for me to go pick Kelsey back up,” Madison said. “When I got there, she was nowhere to be found. I asked the receptionist where she was, and she told me that she went across the street to get a coffee,” Madison then explained, and she started sobbing.

“Easy, easy,” Dale urged. Madison nodded, and tried to calm down.

“I went to the coffee shop, only she wasn't there either. I then spent the next two hours looking for her before it got too dark for me to continue,” Madison said.

“By any chance, did you get a ransom demand, or anything like that?” I asked.

“Yes,” Both Dale and Madison said at the same time.

“I had just called Dale over to tell him what happened, and then I got the call,” Madison explained.

“I was hear when the call was made,” Dale added.

“Do you have it recorded? I'll need to hear it,” I insisted.

“Please...I-I can't,” Madison pleaded through teary eyes.

“I'll play it for you Jeff,” Dale said, as he stood up, and walked over to the phone. Madison got up, and left the room. I guess she couldn't bare hearing it again. Dale then hit the play button.

“Hello?” Madison's voice asked.

“Hello Mrs. Ryan,” A Woman's voice greeted.

“Who are you?” Madison then asked.

“All you need to know is that we have your daughter, and if you do as we say, you will be reunited with her very soon,” The Woman stated.

“Please-please don't hurt her,” Madison pleaded.

“Ma'am, believe us. We don't want to, but the choice you make next will determine what happens to her,” The Mystery Lady said firmly.

“What do you want?” Mrs. Ryan asked, with a bit of stammering.

“As you know, all great businesses have to start somewhere, and it just so happens that your daughter is our first client,” The Lady explained. “I think you'll find a fee of fifty grand to be a very reasonable price for your daughter's release.”

“Fifty thousand dollars?!” Madison shrieked.

“Do not shout at me!” the woman barked back. “Now then, you have until Sunday to gather the money. We will call you Sunday morning, and you don't pay up, well, we know people who would pay even more for her, so I’d advise you to take that into consideration.”

“Please-please don't do this,” Madison begged.

“Mrs. Ryan, I can tell you love your daughter very much, and I know you'll do the right thing. For her, and for you,” The Woman said, now sounding much less demanding. “Before I leave, I need to clarify one more rule. Any calls to the police or the news will have fatal consequences for the young lady. Do you understand?”

“Yes...I understand,” Madison sobbed. With that, the phone was hung up.

“It's over Maddie!” Dale then called, and about a minute later, Kelsey's Mother had rejoined us. “What do you think Jeff?”

“Did you trace the call by any chance?” I asked.

“I didn't have the equipment,” Dale sighed. I however nodded my head.

“That witch did give me one clue,” I said.

“What?” Madison said, looking very hopeful.

“She said all great businesses have to start somewhere,” I stated. I then looked over to Madison with a sly look on my face. “Didn't you say that the yoga facility that Kelsey was going to had just opened?” I then asked. Dale put his hand into his face.

“Oh my god, how did I not see that?” He asked, clearly upset with himself.

“What is it?” Madison asked.

“I think that yoga place may be a front,” I explained. “I'll need pay them a visit tomorrow.”

“The thing is Jeff, I already spoke to the receptionist, and she gave me the same story that she told Madison,” Dale told me.

“I’m not going to ask her what happened. I'm going to tell her I have a daughter who wants to sign up,” I explained, as I held my fingers in quotation mark symbols for that last part.

“You want to see how the receptionist reacts,” Dale guessed, and I nodded yes. He then turned to Mrs. Ryan. “I think we've got something here Madison,” He then told her.

“I don't know how to thank you,” she said, as she wiped away more tears.

“No need to,” Dale said back. “This is my job, and Jeff used to do things like this a lot. You're in good hands. Just try and get some rest right now. I'll try to keep you up to speed on what's happening,” Dale told her. She nodded, and with that we left her house. “Jeff, this is for you,” Dale then told me, as he handed me a piece of paper. It had what looked like directions on it.

“Is this the Yoga Loft's address?” I asked. He then nodded. At least we now had something to work with.

I always did enjoy the scenes that show off Jeff's investigative skills. Eagerly awaiting what comes next.

Part 5: In this part, Jeff considers signing his daughter up for yoga without her consent.

My drive home wasn't very pleasant given the situation at hand, and the fact that the traffic was full of idiots. One person almost changed lanes into me while another thought he didn't need to obey a red light. (Some people, I tell ya.) Anyways, once I made it home, I parked the truck, and went inside to put my keys and wallet away. I then walked over to the Parker's house.

I rang the door bell, and it was answered by Martha. The look on her face told me that Katie had informed them of what was going on.

“Hi Jeff, come on in,” She sighed. I walked inside, and rounded the corner only for Sam and Katie both to almost walk right smack dab into me.

“Whoa there!” I demanded.

“Sorry,” Sam said. “Is it true?” She then asked, with a frantic look.

“I'm afraid so,” I sighed.

“Oh no,” Sam moaned.

“Is there anything we can do?” Martha asked me.

“Yes there is. We need to make sure as few people know about this as possible,” I insisted. “I've talked things over with Kelsey's Mother, as well as Dale. I have an idea on what to do about it for now, but we need to keep this quiet.”

“Can we tell Linda and Lucy at least? They're Kelsey's friends too,” Katie begged. I thought about this for a second or two.

“Yes, I would say the deserve to know in that regard, and I will inform them myself. Under no circumstances is this to be discussed out in the open, or it could end badly if the wrong person hears it,” I stated. “Have I made myself clear?”

“Yes, perfectly clear,” Katie said. She then looked at Sam. “I should probably head home now.”

“It's fine, I'll see you at school tomorrow,” Sam told her.

“Take care you two,” Martha said, and with that we left.

Once we got back to my house, I changed into a pair of pajama pants, along with a loose T-shirt, and headed to the TV room. Katie soon joined me. She was dressed for bed as well.

“So, do you trust me knowing the whole story?” She asked me. I then told her about everything that happened at Mrs. Ryan's house. From her story, to the recording, to my theory.

“So yeah, I'll be paying that Yoga Loft a visit after I drop you off at school tomorrow,” I stated. Katie shook her head.

“A Yoga place isn't what comes to my mind when I think of a criminal front,” She said. I looked over at her.

“Actually, it made some sense to me,” I responded.

“How?” She asked.

“Well, think about it. You get to scout out the perfect targets by having them walk right up to you,” I explained. Katie nodded her head.

“Yeah, that would make sense,” She said. I then got up off the couch, as I had some business to take care of.

“Where are you going?” Katie asked me.

“I'm calling the Trotters and the Wolffs,” I answered.

“Oh, okay,” Katie said, and turned her attention back to the TV screen. I made a pair of phone calls to the Trotters, and the Wolffs explaining everything. They seemed to take it very well all things considered. Once I was done, I rejoined Katie on the couch. We watched TV until about ten, and we both headed upstairs for bed. I knew I had one heck of a morning ahead of me.

* * * *

I usually wake up earlier then Katie does. I took a quick shower, and got dressed. I wanted to look like someone who might be rich and feels important. I decided to go with a black suit, and a white shirt. I then gave my hair a quick comb, and put on some nicely polished shoes. With that done, I headed for the kitchen for some breakfast, coffee, and newspaper reading.

Katie came downstairs about an hour or so later. She was dressed for school in one of her usual winter time outfits. When she saw me, her face beamed.

“Well, look at you Handsome,” She greeted. I grinned at her.

“I thought I'd look the part of some rich guy,” I insisted.

“Oh, you look the part alright,” She stated, and then got herself some breakfast.

“So, what did you tell Lucy and Linda yesterday?” Katie asked me, as she ate her breakfast.

“Pretty much the same thing I told you,” Dad said. “Remember, don't say anything at school.”

“I know,” Katie said, with a nod.

Once breakfast was over, we dealt with the dishes, and it was then time for us to hit the road. I dropped Katie off at her usual spot, and then I left. Now it was time for me to see just what that yoga place was up to. Using the directions that Dale had given me last night, I drove down the road.

It took me a little while, but it seemed as though I had made it to the right place. It was about a ten minute drive from Katie's School, but soon enough I was turning into the parking lot in font of Eternal flow Institute. The slogan underneath it read: Become one with your spiritual self.

“Yeah, while we become one with your extra cash if we like your daughter,” I mumbled, in reference to what was happening to one of their “clients.” I entered the building, and saw that the reception hall was in very nice shape. The wood floors were nicely polished, as was the front desk. I saw a woman who looked maybe in her mid thirties sitting in front of the desk at a computer. I tried not to smirk, and walked over to her.

“Hello Sir, may I help you?” She greeted. Little did she know, she already had. I have an ear for voices that I guess Dale doesn't. She was the lady who made the ransom call to Kelsey's Mother. Never-the-less, I still played the unsuspecting Father.

“Yes hello, I have a daughter who has been wanting to try out yoga, and a friend referred me here,” I lied. The Lady smiled warmly at me.

“Yes, you are indeed in the right place Mr...”

“Coachmen, Richard Coachmen,” I lied again, and I shook her hand.

“Nice to meet you Mr. Coachman,” She greeted.

“Nice to meet you too...Tara,” I greeted back, after having looked at the name badge on her chest. “So, what does your program include?” I then asked.

“Oh, where do I begin?” She asked aloud. “Our exorcises increase health, build stamina, and reduce stress. I could go on and on all day, but I don't think you want to wait that long,” She said, and we both shared a laugh. I know mine was fake, but I think her's was too.

“Yeah, that sounds like just what my Katie needs,” I said, and then looked to see how she reacted. She seemed to look very hopeful that I would go through with it. A little too hopeful perhaps. Yep, this was the spot. “How do we sign her up?” I then asked, trying to look hopeful myself.

“Well, we'll need to see her in person, so that she can sign a few forms,” Tara explained. I continued her statement in the back of my mind.

"Because we totally don't need to see if your daughter looks worth kidnapping first, or anything silly like that," I thought to myself, before I smiled at Tara. “Well, she's in school right now, and she has homework, but if we can't make it today, we'll be in tomorrow,” I then said. The Receptionist nodded her head.

“Not a problem. Return when ever is convenient for you,” She said to me. I then remembered something else.

“Oh yeah, before I leave I have one more question. How does payment work?” I asked.

“Payment is easy. It's twenty dollars for a week, and that includes all benefits,” Tara told me.

“Well, thank you for your time Tara, I'm sure Katie will enjoy herself here,” I stated. We shook hands one more time, and then I left. Once I was back on the road, I gave Dale a call.

“Hey Jeff, you got something?” He answered.

“Yeah, Eternal Flow Institute is where the kidnapping took place for sure,” I declared.

“How do you know?” My friend asked me.

“The receptionist is the same lady who made the ransom call,” I told him. There was a pause for a few seconds.

“I thought I recognized her voice at first, but I didn't want to guess, and be wrong about it,” The Officer mentioned, and I considered taking back my previous statement about him.

“Well now you have a second opinion. I picked up the tone almost right away,” I said. “Also when I mentioned my daughter, she looked ready to start drooling.”

“What are you going to do now?” Dale asked me.

“That depends, how soon can you meet me at Madison's house?” I asked.

“I'll be there in about forty minutes or so,” Dale answered.

“Sounds good,” I said. I hung up the phone, and drove out to her place. Right now, I have to head out to Robert's house, so hopefully Katie can fill in a few blanks for you. [Katie! It's back to you again.]

Part 6: In this part, Katie decides to make peace with a few ghosts from her past.

----Katie----

So yeah, I was pretty miserable at school this time around. In fact, at lunch time my friends and I all agreed it would be better for us to sit at separate tables, so that we wouldn't be tempted to talk about what was happening. Anyways, once the bell sounded, we all packed up our bags, and waited outside for Dad's truck. I think I've mentioned this before, but any one of our parents will usually pick all four of us up from school given how we all live right next to each other. Well, Linda doesn't, but her house is on the road we take back.

Once Dad pulled up, we all got in, and closed the doors.

“So, anything new?” Sam asked.

“Yep, I can tell you all for sure that Eternal Flow Institute is indeed where Kelsey was taken from,” Dad said, as we pulled out of the parking lot.

“How do you know?” I asked.

“The receptionist there is the same person who made the ransom demand,” He answered.

“That would do it,” Linda said, as her eye brows quirked.

“Do you know what you're doing next?” Lucy then asked.

“Dale and I talked to Kelsey's Mother, and we weighed up our options,” Dad explained. “This is where things get tough.”

“What's wrong?” I asked him.

“Given our current evidence, Dale can get a warrant to search the place, but if she isn't there, we're screwed, because at that point, we've shown our hand,” Dad explained.

“Surely there must be something else,” I stated, hoping that wasn't all of it.

“There is,” Dad said. “We can also take Tara the Receptionist in for questioning, but if She doesn't talk, then we have the same problem as before.”

“You could always take her, and interrogate her,” My Daughter threw out. “It worked last time.”

“I did think of that, but unlike last time, the police are already involved with this, and I can't say that I kidnapped someone to get information about another kidnapping,” Dad explained.

“You're right. This is looking rather tough,” Linda said. Dad then presented a forth option.

“Or we could find a fifteen year old girl who will volunteer to wear a GPS tracker of some kind, and let them kidnap her,” He then suggested, although I could tell he meant it as a joke by his tone. “And I don't see that happening.”

“What are you going to do?” I asked. Dad let out a sigh.

“If Dale or I can't think of anything by tomorrow morning, then the best option will likely be for police to take Tara in, question her, and pray she coughs up Kelsey's location,” Dad answered.

* * * *

So yeah, homework was done at my house again. I was having a little difficulty concentrating though, as what Dad had said earlier was weighing on my mind.

“Katie!?” Lucy snapped, trying to get my attention.

“Oh, sorry,” I said. “I guess I spaced out for a second.”

“I've already done that twice in class, so don't feel bad,” Lucy said, and we started comparing notes, and things like that.

I was remembering what Dad had told me after I was kidnapped by Mr. Bennett. He said that no one should ever have to endure what Linda and I went through. I couldn't help but think of what Kelsey was going through as well. The images of my own kidnapping where starting to haunt me again.

My mind then trickled back to Dad joke earlier. The one he made about someone being kidnapped and tracked, so that we could find where Kelsey was being held. The thing is, it was actually a good idea. I thought about mentioning it, but I thought it was best not to bring it up until it was just the two of us.

My friends joined Dad and I for dinner today. We had KFC, and tried to talk about other things to help take our minds of the tragedy. Thanks to a little invention known as paper plates, all we had to worry about was garbage.

Linda had to go home at around eight o'clock, and Lucy and Sam got called back about thirty minutes later. We said our good-byes respectively, and then I joined Dad in the TV room again. I was still trying to work out how to tell him how I felt.

“Dad?” I asked, and he turned his attention to me. “I-I need to talk to you about something,” I said.

“Okay,” He said, and I sat down on the couch beside him. “What's on your mind?”

“Well, I've been thinking about what you said earlier in the truck,” I stated. Dad blinked at me.

“Which part?” He asked.

“The part when you said we find someone willing to be kidnapped, so that we can find the people who took Kelsey,” I sighed. Dad snorted.

“Katie, that was a joke, and I'll admit that it probably wasn't very appropriate at the time,” He said.

“I know you meant it as a joke, but I've been thinking,” I insisted. “What if we actually tried it?” I then suggested. Dad looked at me as if I had sprouted a tail with antlers on it.

“Katie. Don't tell me you're actually thinking of volunteering for something like that,” Dad said, with wide eyes.

“As a matter of fact, I was,” I said, finally letting it out.

“I asked you not to tell me that,” Dad moaned. “My answer is absolutely not!” He then barked.

“But Dad,” I pushed.

“Katie, how could you think of doing something like that after what happened last summer? After what I went through? After what you and Linda went through?” He asked. But I wasn't giving up.

“Dad, it's because of what happened last summer that I want to do this,” I insisted. Dad just shook his head.

“Katie, I'm starting to regret ever telling you about anything past what you knew already,” Dad stated.

“Will you please hear me out!?” I then barked. I was worried for a second that Dad may punish me for raising my voice at him, but to my surprise, he sighed, and calmed himself.

“Alright, I'm listening,” He said, softly.

“Do you Remember what you told me after I was kidnapped?” I asked.

“I told you a lot of things,” Dad mentioned. I decided to be a bit more precise.

“You told me that no one should have to go through what Linda and I went through,” I answered. Dad then nodded his head.

“Yes that's true, and now you want to willing go through it again?” He asked me.

“Dad this may be Kelsey's best shot at being rescued, and quite frankly, the other options are shaky at best,” I stated. Dad kinda nodded at that. “But if we allow them to kidnap me while I'm being tracked as you said, then it is highly likely that they will take me to the same place as Kelsey.”

“Katie, I understand that you want to help. What I don't understand how you would want to do this after what happened to you last summer,” Dad sighed.

“Dad, the images of that horrific event have been haunting me again ever since we learned that Kelsey had been kidnapped. I was thinking that maybe if I do this willingly, then maybe I can finally make peace with my own ghosts as well,” I explained. Dad finally smiled, and nodded. I think he understood now.

“Katie, do you know who you remind me of right now?” He asked me.

“Who?” I asked.

“Me,” Dad answered. He then held out his arms to give me a hug. One that I gladly accepted. “Alright Katie. If you want to go through with this, then I'll allow it, but under protest,” Dad told me. “If I don't like how things are going at any point, I'll have you pulled out. Understand?”

“I understand,” I said, softly.

“Alright, well, I guess I need to make a phone call,” Dad said, as he got up, and walked over to the phone. Dad then dialed a number.

“Hey Dale! We may have a third option. Albeit, it's not one I'm too happy about,” Dad said. I heard the faint voice of Officer Peterson through the phone.

“What is it?” He asked.

“A Fishing Trip,” Dad answered.

Part 7: In this part, Katie prepares for her first Black Ops mission.

Well, to put it mildly, Officer Peterson wasn't too happy with what I'd come up with either. He called my idea, and I quote: “Stupid, outrageous, and out right insane...therefore it may just work.” At least we finally had a plan. Believe it or not, just knowing that was enough for me to get a better night's sleep.

The next morning, I got up, took a shower, and got dressed for school. I met Dad down in the kitchen as usual.

“Hey Baby Girl,” Dad greeted. I scowled at him as usual, which made him smirk.

“So, what's the plan after school?” I asked him.

“I'll need to take you down to the yoga place to sign up,” He answered. “You may want to let your friends know that your homework collaboration will either be late, or the next day.”

“Yeah, I kinda figured that,” I said, in agreement. “Do you think I should tell them what I'm doing?” I then asked. Dad looked thoughtful for a minute.

“That's up to you,” Dad said. “Just don't lie to them,” He then suggested, to which I nodded.

* * * *

So my friends were seated at separate tables as usual, so as to avoid the forbidden conversation. Never-the-less, I still needed to inform them of what was happening later once school was over. I gathered them up one by one, and we sat down at a an empty table off in the corner of the Café.

“What's this about Kate?” Linda asked.

“I just wanted to let you know that Dad needs my help with something once school is over,” I explained. “So we'll have to do our homework either a little later on, or we'll have to do it tomorrow.”

“Does this have to do with-?” She stopped there, knowing it was enough. I nodded my head yes.

“Yes it does,” I said.

“Well, what is it?” Lucy asked.

“I can't tell you now. I'll explain later today once Dad and I are done,” I told them. My friends looked at each other with confused looks on their faces. Thankfully they didn't push.

“Okay,” Lucy said. “We'll host our homework session at my house. Just call us when you're back. Sound good?”

“Sounds perfect,” I said. After that we all separated to different tables. That went a lot better then I thought it would.

* * * *

School was finally over, and Dad arrived right on time to pick me up. I got into the passenger seat of the truck, and we headed home briefly. Sam, Lucy, and Linda were able to catch a ride with Sam's Mother.

“Did you tell them?” Dad asked.

“Just what they needed to know for now,” I told him, and Dad nodded back.

Once we got home, I changed out of my school outfit, and into a pair of black yoga pants, and a blue tank top with thin straps. I also threw on a hoodie due to the fact that it was quite chilly outside. Just like Dad, I wanted to look the part going in. Dad had changed back into his “rich guy” outfit as well. It was time. I breathed deeply. This was it.

The drive out to the Yoga Place was hassle free. Soon we pulled up into the parking lot of Eternal Flow Institute. I was about to get out, but Dad stopped me.

“There's something I need to tell you Katie,” Dad stated. I looked at him. “They know me as Richard Coachman which means-”

“I'm Miss Coachman,” I said, with a grin, and Dad nodded. With that, we got out of the truck, and went inside.

“Ah, Mr. Coachman,” The receptionist greeted. At last, the face behind this whole thing. She then turned to me. “And you must be Miss Coachman,” She then said to me.

“That's me,” I said, with a smile. “I've been looking foreword to this for a while now.”

“I'm glad to see that you're enthusiastic,” The Receptionist stated, with a smile. I couldn't help but notice she was eying me over. It was almost like she was scanning me, or something.

“Anyways,” Dad then said. “You said we have paperwork to fill out?”

“Ah yes indeed,” Tara the Receptionist said, with a rather gleeful tone in her voice. Again, it made me feel a bit nervous, but the fact that I was kinda expecting it made it easier to deal with. Tara pulled out a few papers, and then handed me a pen. “Just sign here, and here,” She then instructed.

“And then I'm in?” I asked.

“And then you're in?” She said, again with her eyes looking me over. I don't remember what the paper's said, because I didn't care. We had our own motives for signing them, so that's what I did. I almost signed them with my real last name, but I caught myself, and corrected it before it was too obvious.

“Alright, when's the next class?” I asked eagerly. Tara looked at her computer.

“I can include you in tomorrow's class at around ten in the morning,” She answered.

“That's perfect,” Dad said.

“We'll see you tomorrow then,” Tara stated. Dad and I both shook hands with Tara, and that was it. We got back into the truck, and headed for home.

“I'm still trying to believe we're doing this,” Dad said aloud.

“Me too,” I said. “Did you see the way she was looking at me?” I then asked.

“Oh yes,” Dad said back firmly. That was when I had another bright idea.

“Hey Dad? I had an idea,” I said. Dad snorted.

“I think I've heard just about enough of your brilliant ideas for right now,” He grumbled.

“No no. Just listen,” I insisted. “I was thinking that maybe you could hold me hostage at some random point today. It might help me develop a better mind set going into tomorrow,” I suggested. Dad seemed to look intrigued at this.

“That might not actually be a bad idea,” He said. “Lord knows you deserve it right now,” He then grumbled. I just chuckled at that, and smiled. With phase one complete, I had homework to do. Not to mention some explaining to do as well.

* * * *

Once we got home, Dad headed upstairs. He was likely changing back into his usual jeans and T-shirt. I didn't bother to change, and instead called Lucy, and let her know I was on the way over. I grabbed my books and papers, and then headed for her house. I was let inside by Lucy, and we both headed into the living room where Sam and Linda were present. We all had our books and papers with us, so it was time for us to start.

“Alright Katie, what gives?” Lucy asked me. How do I say this?

“Dad and I have come up with a plan to rescue Kelsey tomorrow,” I stated. All my friends perked up.

“That's great!” Linda cheered.

“I'm betting there's a catch though,” Sam said, and I nodded yes.

“I'm just going to say that you may not approve of this, but it's the only option that we have right now, so we're going with it,” I explained. Lucy just sighed.

“Katie, just tell us,” She sighed.

“Well, remember when Dad joked about a volunteer kidnap victim?” I asked. All my friends instantly frowned. That was all I had to say for them to put the pieces together.

“Oh my god, you aren't,” Linda stated.

“Yes. Yes I am,” I said.

“You're offering yourself as bait?” Lucy asked, clearly stunned.

“If you have any better ideas, I'm open to them,” I suggested.

“Katie, this could seriously backfire,” Sam stated.

“I know that,” I said, and I then told them the same thing I had told Dad as well. “If it means getting Kelsey out of there, then I'm willing to do it.”

“Katie, the fact that you are willing to do something this insane to rescue a friend truly makes you a friend and a half,” Sam said, with a strange smile.

“You're right in the respect that I don't approve of it, but you have my full support,” Linda said, with a nod. I looked at Lucy to see how She'd react.

“All I can say is: Best of Luck to you,” She said, and we all shared a friendly hug. (My friends everybody.)

We had to cut homework short a little bit, as dinner time had rolled around right in the middle of it. Mrs. Wolff was kind enough to allow all of us to stay for dinner as well. We didn't talk about what had happened in the living room, and thought it was best that we keep it to ourselves for now.

Once dinner was over, we helped with the dishes, and the garbage. We then finished our homework up.

Is that all of it?” Linda asked.

“Yep, that's all of it,” Lucy said, and soon it was time for us to leave. I picked up my books and papers, I said my good-byes, and I left for home.

“Dad, I'm home!” I called, as I closed the front door behind me. I got no answer from him which is very odd. Perhaps he didn't hear me. I went upstairs to put my school stuff away, and take my hoodie off. I then headed back downstairs. “Dad!?” I called again. This was strange. I heard that the TV was on, so maybe he was in the TV room.

I walked down the hall, and when I reached the opening into the TV room I had myself quite a shock. A very strong arm wrapped around my arms and chest. I let out an mmph as another hand clamped over my mouth.

“Don't move. Don't scream,” A voice demanded. I actually calmed down a bit, because the voice belonged to my Dad. He was obviously in character, so naturally I did the same. I nodded yes, and he removed his hand from my mouth.

“Please don't hurt me,” I begged, trying to sound afraid. “Just tell me what you want.”

“Right now I want you to cross your wrists behind your back,” Dad instructed. I put my hands behind my back, as he had requested. He began binding them with rope. He either has his own now, or he stole it from my room. He then pulled out what looked like a large dish cloth, and twirled it around into a twist.

“Oh no, please don't gag me,” I pleaded.

“Shut up, and open your mouth,” Dad snarled at me. I did my best to form some fake tears, and then obeyed his command. Dad shoved the center of the cloth into my mouth, and knotted it behind my head. “Now take me upstairs,” Dad then demanded. I nodded, and lead the way.

I walked upstairs with Dad right behind me. He then forcefully turned me to the direction of my room. He opened the door, and pushed me inside. He then grabbed me by both shoulders, and shoved me onto my bed. All the while, I was moaning into my gag.

“Pllshh ddn't hrrp mm,” I sobbed.

“You know something,” Dad asked, as he leered over me. He then smiled. “You're a pretty darn good actress,” He then complimented, as he broke character. I instantly started laughing.

“I llrnndd ffrm thh bsht,” I said. Dad frowned a bit.

“Who? Me? Impossilbe. I'm not an actress,” Dad pointed out. I glared at him.

“Yhh knww whht ih mmnn,” I snarled. Dad just laughed.

“Alright, let's get you untied,” He said, as he then untied the gag from my mouth. “That should give you a taste of what to expect tomorrow,” He then told me.

“I think I can deal with that,” I said confidently, as Dad untied my hands. We both then hugged each other, and then played some Perfect Dark on co-op before we both headed upstairs for bed.

I don't think this series gets as much attention as it deserves. Either way, very well written, I eagerly await the next update.

Truth be told, I've almost finished this one, but I have some other things going on right now, so it'll be a little bit before the rest get's posted. Also, I like to give people a little time to enjoy the recent post before posting the next part as well.

Part 8: In this part, our heroes enact their villainous plan.

I'm not going to lie. I found it pretty difficult to get to sleep last night. On the one hand, I was worried about the precarious position I had put myself in. If something went wrong, then I was in big trouble. On the other hand, I was also feeling a bit excited. Just knowing that this was all a play. I was finally understanding why gambling is such a draw to some people. There is a certain thrill to it.

“Katie, you need to wake up,” I heard Dad telling me.

“What time is it?” I groaned, as I tried to rub the sleep out of my eyes. I saw Dad was dressed in a T-shirt, jeans, hoodie, and baseball cap today.

“It's about eight forty five. I let you sleep for about as long as I could afford to,” Dad answered. I just nodded my head yes.

“Alright,” I groaned again.

“I'll let you get ready,” He said, and with that, Dad left the room.

I took a quick shower, and then got dressed into a pair of black leggings, and a matching tank top. I then put my hair into a ponytail before heading down stairs.

“Having second thoughts?” Dad asked, getting a good look at my face, as I entered the kitchen. I just sighed.

“I'd be lying if I said I wasn't,” I admitted. “But it's too late to worry about that now.”

“Yes it is,” Dad said, but then he grinned at me. “But somehow I believe you'll pull this off.”

“I truly hope so,” I sighed, and got myself some breakfast.

* * * *

Once nine thirty rolled around, it was time for us to hit the road. Dad and I got into the truck and headed for...not the yoga place, as there was a slight detour we had to make. We drove down to one of the local gas stations where Officer Peterson and Uncle Robert where waiting for us. Uncle Robert smiled at me as I got out of the truck.

“Katie, you are indeed family for trying a stunt like this,” He claimed proudly, and gave me a hug.

“Robert!” Dad scolded. Officer Peterson snorted.

“Hey, she learned from the best,” He said, with a smirk. Dad just rolled his eyes. “Now you know how it feels to be me,” The Officer added.

“Guys, please don't make me feel worse about this than I already do,” Dad moaned.

“Sorry,” Uncle Robert said. “Officer Peterson then addressed me.

“Alright then Katie, I have something for you,” He told me, and pulled out a nice looking silver watch. “This has a GPS tracker in it,” He explained, and then handed it to me.

“I'm surprised you're on board with this Mr. Peterson,” I said, as I put my new watch on. The Officer just shrugged.

“This is too stupid and crazy to work, and therefore, I suspect it will,” He said. I just laughed.

“Katie, could you hand me your phone?” Dad asked. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and handed to him. “I'm going to activate the GPS tracker in this as well,” He said.

“Having a plan B is always good,” I said.

“And as a plan C, we're going to alternate following the kidnap vehicle if for whatever reason the GPS devices fail,” Uncle Robert said. I just grinned.

“Guys, I just want to say: Thanks for your support in all of this,” I said.

“You're most welcome,” Uncle Robert stated.

“Once we have the location, I'll have a team of cops there in minutes. You won't have wait long,” Officer Peterson said. We all then exchanged a few high-fives, and set about our task at hand.

“We're coming Kelsey,” I thought to myself.

Once we arrived at the yoga place, and Dad dropped me off at the front door, and then drove off down the road. No doubt he'd be making a U-turn to a location nearby so he could watch what was about to happen. I then opened the glass door, and met up with Tara again.

“Hello Tara,” I greeted. She then looked up from her computer, and smiled warmly at me.

“Ah hello Miss Coachman,” She greeted. We then shook hands. “Are you ready for your first lesson?”

“Very much so,” I said.

“Well then let's get you set up with a locker,” She stated, and came around from behind the desk. “Just follow me,” She then requested. I began bracing myself. This had to be it. I was expecting someone to point a gun at me while one or two more tie me up, or something like that. Overall, I was getting myself ready for what I knew was coming.

Tara opened the door to the locker room, and allowed me in ahead of her. I saw two guys who looked like janitors cleaning the floors and the lockers. They both looked to be in their early twenties. Both actually looked really nice. A cart with cleaning supplies was placed in between them.

“Uh oh, should we leave?” One of them asked.

“Oh no, she's our newest client,” Tara told them. Dad told me about how they referred to Kelsey as their client. Yep, here it comes. Both men stopped what they were doing. It was almost as if what Tara had said triggered a compulsive response. One of them started walking over to me while the other one walked over to the cart, and pulled out a roll of duct tape. Now it was time for me to put on my act. I turned to face Tara.

“Um, Tara?” I asked, with wide eyes.

“Get ready for a little road trip foolish girl,” Tara snarled, with a smirk. Before I could react, (Well, I could have, but I chose not to,) I felt a first Man's arms engulf me, and pin my arms to my sides. I was then turned around to face the other man.

“What are you doing!? Get off me!!” I shrieked, and that was all I got out before a piece of tape was pressed against my lips. “MMMmmmmp mmmmph mmmpp!” I then tried to yell. The man who had a hold of me then pushed me to the floor where he yanked my hands behind my back. His partner then wrapped tape around my wrists. With my hands bound behind me, they then taped my ankles together as well. I struggled as hard as I could, but I knew I couldn't win this fight. I was bound, gagged, and outnumbered.

“I'm sure Daddy will pay a very hefty price for you,” Tara said, with a sneer, as I was then lifted to my feet. I tried to lung at her, but the two men held me back.

“Wmmmm mmmuu bnnnnnph!” I retorted through my gag, as I glared at her. Tara just laughed. One of the janitors then reached into my pants pocket, and pulled out my phone. He then handed it to Tara.

“Get her to the house,” She ordered. “I have to head back to the counter,” She then said, and left the room.

Both men dragged me, as I struggled against them. I made sure that my struggle was convincing without being too difficult for them to deal with. They hauled me out a back door, and through a graveled area with a utility van parked just a few feet away. As I was dragged to the van, I looked around, and I saw Uncle Robert's car parked on the side of the road. His back was to us, but I knew he was watching.

The van doors were opened up, and I was heaved inside. I gave both men a few choice words through my gag, but they just laughed at my muffled defiance, and shut the doors. Once the doors were closed however, I started giggling to myself. Phase two was complete.

* * * *

I don't remember how long we were on the road. It was about twenty minutes at least. I was also now very grateful for the invention known as the seat belt. I was hoping I would never have to ride in the back of a utility van ever again.

Once then van came to a stop, the doors were thrown open, and I was greeted by both men again. One of them stepped inside, and took hold of me. I once again started to struggle.

“Stop fighting, or I'll make you regret it!” He ordered. I then sighed, and calmed down. “That's better,” He then complimented. I was sort of half marched half carried in between them to the front doors of a modest house with a stone wall surrounding the yard. An iron gate closed off the driveway where the van was now parked. The grass had seen better days, and the house could have done with a new paint job, but other then that, it didn't look to bad.

The door was answered by A man who looked maybe about thirty years old. He had shoulder length hair, and was dressed in nice suit and tie.

“So you're our newest client eh?” He greeted. I glared at him. “My my, if looks could kill.”

“Mmmu wmmp gmmt awwmm wmm phmmph!” I snarled.

“She's a feisty one,” One of the Janitors told him, and he had a sick grin on his face too I might add. All three men just laughed at me. I didn't let it bother me too much, as I knew I'd be having the last laugh in the end.

“Put her upstairs with the other one,” Mr. Suit ordered. I tried not to show it, but I was almost ecstatic. The other one could only be Kelsey. It was all worth it. We had found her.

I was dragged past a living room in which two more men were sitting on a couch, and were watching what may have been UFC or something like that. My captors then carried me by my arms and feet upstairs to a door.

I was stood up in front of the door, and held onto by the Janitor behind me. The other man opened the door into what seemed to be a bedroom. There on the bed was a very old looking woman who had short white hair, wrinkled skin, and almost all of her teeth missing...I'm kidding, of course it was Kelsey.

She was dressed in a similar fashion to me with a pair of gray yoga shorts, and a blue tank top. She even had her hands taped behind her back just like me. She, however, was fortunate enough to not have her mouth taped shut. I also noticed that her legs weren't bound either. In order to immobilize someone like Kelsey, one only needs to take away her prosthesis...and that's what her captors did.

Kelsey jumped a bit when the door was flung open.

“What the-” She started, and sounded a bit frightened.

“Why don't you two get to know each other!” The man who was behind me suggested, and then pushed me to the floor inside. I let out a yelp into my gag, and winced a bit, but it wasn't too painful. Both men laughed, and shut the door. I then heard the sound of it being locked.

I've a feeling, from reading your past stories, that I'm going to thoroughly enjoy the next bit of this. Well done so far.

Part 9: In this part, a mouse tries to ambush a cat, and pays for it.

I looked at the room around me briefly. There was a window, but given the fact that Kelsey only had one leg to work with at this time, I wasn't too surprised that she didn't try to escape. I then saw her peer over the bed at me.

“Katie? how did they get you?” She asked.

“Hmmld nnn h snnnk,” I said. I then squirmed, and wriggled myself over to the bed. Using at a support, I did my best to get back to my feet. Once I was in an upright position, I was able to flop down onto the bed with her. “Cnn ymm tnnk thh tmmp mph mh mmwph?” I then asked.

“What?” Kelsey then asked. Now, there is one issue when using duct tape to gag someone: One strip of tape usually isn't enough to hold. The only reason why I put up with it for this long was to sell my role. I tried to pull my lips apart, and slowly, but surely, the tape was loose enough that I could talk again.

“Can you take the tape from my mouth?” I asked her. The tape was still kinda stuck to my upper lip, but that was all I needed for her to understand me again.

“Oh, yeah, sure,” Kelsey said, and turned her back to me. She fumbled around with her bound hands, and tried to remove it. I then winced a bit.

“Kelsey, that was my nose,” I said, as She had inadvertently put one of her fingers up my nose.

“Sorry,” She said, and tried again. This time she tried to look behind her as she worked, and she was finally able to pull the tape off of my mouth completely.

“Thanks,” I said, and then sighed a bit.

“Katie, how did they get you?” Kelsey asked again. I grinned at her.

“What if I were to tell you that I let them grab me?” I asked her back. She blinked at me.

“Come again?” Kelsey asked back, not quite understanding. I then turned a bit.

“See this watch?” I asked her. She then nodded yes. I then leaned into her ear. “It has a GPS tracker in it that the police are following,” I whispered. Kelsey gawked at me.

“You mean to say-” She started, now putting the pieces together.

“Yep. Help is on the way. We just need to sit tight,” I told her. Kelsey looked quite pleased to hear the good news.

“I-I don't believe it,” She said, now clearly awestruck.

“Shh. Keep it down, and don't look too excited, or you might blow my cover,” I explained. She then nodded. I then cast a look over to what remained of her right leg. It was only a few inches longer then the length of her shorts, and was covered by what looked like a big sock. It was so grim looking, and yet...so strangely adorable too.

“So that's what's left of it huh?” I asked her, as she noticed me looking at it.

“Yeah,” She sorta half sighed, and half moaned. “They didn't have to tie me feet like they did with you. They just stole my leg,” She explained. It was at that point we heard the sound of foot steps coming our way.

“It would seem our hosts have something for us,” I then said softly.

The door was opened by one of the men I recognized from down stairs in front of the TV. He was about as tall as me, and looked a bit scrawny, but not by too much. He had a nicely trimmed beard, and a rather pleasant face.

“So, how are you both doing,” He asked.

“Oh, just peachy,” I chirped, with a grin. He didn't seem to concerned that the tape had been removed from my mouth, and likely just assumed Kelsey had helped me.

“I just wanted to let you know that we have some good news for you,” He said, looking at Kelsey.

“What?” She asked, sounding nervous.

“We just got off the phone with your Mother, and it turns out that she has the money all set,” He told her. “You'll be on your way home tomorrow morning.”

“Damn leech,” Kelsey spat. He just scoffed at her remark, and turned to me.

“As for you, We'll be calling your Daddy tonight, and we'll be telling him to secure fifty thousand dollars for your release as well,” He stated. “You better hope he's as cooperative as her mother.”

“Why are you doing this?” Kelsey asked.

“Because it's a very high paying profession!” Our Host snapped.

“You won't get away with this!” I snarled, as I glared at him. “The police will find us!” The man just laughed. He then leaned in rather close to me. I leaned back a bit in response.

“The police would need a miracle to find us,” He said softly, with a sneer. The timing could not have been better. As soon as he finished his bad guy one-liner, we heard a loud crash from down stairs, followed by a lot of shouting for people to get down on the ground. Our captor turned to face the direction of the noise. Now it was my turn to sneer.

“Miracles do happen every once in a while,” I said, now smirking. The man turned to me with a glare. He raced to the nearby closet, and pulled out a briefcase. With the briefcase in hand, he stood up against the wall next to the door. No doubt intending to hit the first person to come through it with the briefcase.

Kelsey and I remained quiet during this. We then heard loud footsteps coming upstairs, and over to this room. Our captor was poised and ready. He wasn't going down without a fight. The door then opened, and someone walked through it. The man then made his attack to strike the back of the intruder's head. Unfortunately for him, the man he struck was my Uncle Robert.

As we already know, Uncle Robert stands at about seven feet tall, so he was struck on the shoulder instead. The captor looked horrified at what he had done. Uncle Robert was barely phased, as he starred down his attacker like a cat. A Thirty Eight Special was in his right hand.

The look on Kelsey's face was pure gold as well. I was trying so hard not to laugh. The man backed away from my uncle with the briefcase in front of him like a shield.

“I'm warning you Mister. Back away!” The man commanded, but I could tell by his tone that he was terrified. My Uncle chuckled, and put his gun back in it's holster.

“Said the Mouse to the Cat,” He growled, with a gleeful tone. My uncle approached, and the briefcase wielding man made one more strike. My Uncle swatted it away, and hooked him by his arms. He then lifted the man to his level.

“P-please,” The man begged, once he was eye to eye with my Uncle. “I'm-I'm sorry,” He squeaked.

“Katie?” My Uncle asked.

“Yeah?” I asked back.

“Did you and your friend ask to be tied up like that?” He then asked me. I looked thoughtful for a moment.

“Not...that I remember,” I answered, in a mocking tone. Uncle Robert then turned his attention back to The Mouse.

“You know, it's really rude to tie girls up without their consent,” He stated. “Right?” He then asked him, with a sick grin.

“Y-yes,” The Mouse Squeaked. My Uncle then nodded yes with him. He then put his serious face back on.

“Head down stairs, and turn yourself in you little shit,” He growled. He then let the man go. As you can imagine, he raced out of the room. My Uncle then turned to the two of us.

“So, you must be Kelsey,” My Uncle greeted, as he started to undo the tape around her wrists.

“Um, yes,” She said, with a slight stammer in her tone. I just snorted, as I set about freeing myself as well.

“Robert Narrows,” He introduced. “I'm Katie's Uncle.”

“Nice to meet you,” Kelsey greeted back, still sounding a bit nervous Once her hands were free, she shook my Uncle's hand. Kelsey then looked over at me, and saw that I already had my hands in front of me, and was undoing the tape around my feet. “How did you-?” She then asked.

“She's had lots of practice,” Uncle Robert said, with a nod. I smiled at her.

“I'll tell you later,” I said to her.

Part 10: In this part, Everyone clears the air a bit. Also, the girls come up with a name for one of their toys.

“So where's Dad at?” I asked.

“Oh, he was looking down stairs while I was looking up here,” Uncle Robert answered.

“Hey Robert?!” I then heard my Dad call from down stairs.

“Yeah! They're up here Jeff!” My Uncle called back. We then heard some foot steps, and my Dad entered the room. He was also carrying something that was very important: Kelsey's Prosthetic Leg.

“I believe this is yours,” Dad told her.

“Yes it is. Thank you so much,” She said, and then began putting it back on. “And, you are?” She asked.

“Jeffery Narrows,” Dad greeted.

“Or in my case: Dad,” I added.

“Or in my case: An Annoyance,” Uncle Robert said, and we all laughed. Kelsey briefly looked like she was at a loss for words.

“I-I really don't know what to say about all of this,” She said. Dad just smiled.

“Let's just get out of here. Your Mom's waiting for you,” He told her. Kelsey then nodded, and we left the room.

“Katie, I can't thank you enough for this,” Kelsey told me. I just shrugged.

“I'm not asking you too,” I said. “I had a few of my own ghosts to put to rest as well.”

“What do you mean?” Kelsey asked me.

“By any chance did you see the news last summer about the kidnapping?” I asked back. Kelsey looked thoughtful for a moment, and then her eyes grew wide.

“I knew I had seen you from somewhere, but I couldn't place it!” She squealed.

“Jeff and I had a hand in that one too,” Uncle Robert said, as he then helped her down the stairs. Kelsey nodded her head.

“That actually explains a lot right there,” She said.

Once we got outside, we could see the police going through their usual routine. A minute or so later we then saw Officer Peterson with Kelsey's Mother.

“Kelsey!” She screamed, and both Her, and the Officer rushed over. Kelsey hobbled towards her mother, and they both met with a big hug. “Kelsey, I'm so glad you're okay!” Her Mother yelled, through teary eyes. Kelsey looked like she was crying a bit herself as well.

“I have her to thank for this,” Kelsey said, and then gestured to me. I had the biggest grin on my face. This whole thing actually worked. “Mom, this is Katie.”

“Nice to meet you,” I greeted, and we shook hands. Kelsey's Mother was at a loss for words. Officer Peterson then spoke up.

“So, we traced a few of the calls made to this house to a cell phone,” He told us. “Guess who that cell phone is registered too.”

“The Receptionist,” I stated, with a smirk.

“You got it,” The Officer stated back. “I have a few guys picking her up now.”

“Well, this is another one for my diary,” Dad said, as he walked over. “How you doing?”

“I think we'll be okay now,” Kelsey's Mother said.

* * * *

In spite of the fact that Kelsey wasn't injured in any way, everyone agreed that she sees a doctor just to be on the safe side. Since I didn't have my phone with me at the time, (it was still in Tara's possession,) Dad took the liberty of calling Lucy, Linda and Sam, and telling them what was happening.

Once Kelsey had things situated, we were finally allowed to go in and see her. She was laying down in a bed, and her prosthesis was leaning against it. From the looks of things when we entered, it looked as though She'd be staying overnight.

“Are they keeping you overnight?” I asked her.

“Yeah, they want to be on the safe side,” She explained. “Katie, Mr. Narrows, I really don't know what else to say other then thank you.”

“You're welcome Kelsey,” Dad said, with a smile. It was at that time, we saw Sam, Lucy, Linda, and their families join us. At which point, everyone greeted each other accordingly.

“I'm just glad you're okay,” Sam said to Kelsey.

“I'm doing alright thanks to our friend here,” Kelsey said, gesturing to me.

“Kaitlin, you are absolutely mad,” Linda told me, shaking her head in disbelief.

“She learned from the best,” Officer Peterson said, now entering the room as well. Dad just smirked at him. “Oh, by the way-” He then started, and reached into his pocket. “I believe these are yours,” He said, and pulled out My cell phone, as well as Kelsey's.

“Oh, thank you,” We both said, and claimed our phones.

“So, what did those Goofs have to say for themselves?” Uncle Robert then asked.

“Well, they all made a full confession,” The Officer answered. “None of them were armed at all. One guy had a multi-tool with a tiny knife in it, but that was all they had going for them.”

“What about the threat to send her to someone that would pay for her?” Kelsey's Mother then asked. Mr. Peterson just snorted.

“That was nothing more then a sleazy scare tactic,” He said. “The only danger she was in was getting cramps in her shoulders.”

“That reminds me,” Kelsey then said. “How did you slip your hands in front of you Katie?” All eyes, (and giggles for some,) turned to me.

“Oh boy,” Mr. Trotter sighed, and started laughing a bit. I just grinned.

“I don't think I should tell you that here,” I explained. “If you can come by for a visit at my house tomorrow, I'll explain that in further detail,” I said. Kelsey nodded her understanding, although I could tell she was curious. Perhaps we'd have another member to our secret society.

"Well Mom?" She then asked her Mother.

"Of course you can," She said, with a smile.

* * * *

Eventually we had to leave, so we said our good-byes, and headed for home. I changed out of my yoga outfit, and into a loose sweater, and a pair of sweatpants. I then heard the doorbell ring, and went back down stairs to open it.

“Oh, come on in,” I said, as I allowed Linda, Sam, and Lucy inside. Linda had on her usual outfit: An oxford shirt under a sweater, and she paired that with a knee length skirt. Lucy had on her Final Fantasy 7 shirt, and a pair of gray leggings. Sam went with a hooded sweat shirt, and a pair of jeans. “Uh, Linda? What's in the bag?” I then asked, seeing that she had a small plastic bag with her. It looked as though it had a few cloths in it.

“Oh,” she said, and pulled one out. I recognized it instantly. It was one of the sock and headband gags from a month ago.

“I should have guessed,” I said, rolling my eyes. Then I paused for a second. “Actually, what should we call those?” I then asked.

“Hmmm, that's a good question,” Linda said, with a similar expression to mine.

“I'm sure we'll think of something later,” Lucy said, in a dismissive tone.

“Hey girls,” Dad greeted, now leaving the kitchen with a glass of water in his hand.

“Hello Mr. Narrows,” My friends greeted. Dad then headed upstairs. He and my Uncle were playing some GTA V which was a game that I wanted to play, but wasn't old enough to play yet.

After some idle chit chat, we all headed up to my room to watch some Youtube videos involving our favorite gamers. We were all getting in our laughs, but the laughing for me stopped slightly when I felt a hand clamp over my mouth.

“I've got you now,” I heard Sam say. At which point I started giggling into her hand. She then let go.

“What are you going to do?” I asked her, trying to sound scared.

“Uh, where do you keep your rope?” Sam then asked, completely killing the mood.

“Epic Fail Sam,” I said, with a laugh. “It's in the bottom drawer,” I told her, as I made myself comfortable on my bed. Sam then came around behind me, and started to bind my hands behind my back with a double column tie.

“I think I'll have to gag you since you have a very big mouth,” Sam threatened, as she finished the tie.

“Oh, please do,” I insisted, as she pulled out another rope to bind my ankles together as well. Linda and Lucy had paused the video they were watching, and were now watching us.

Once she was done, she pulled out one of the unnamed gags, and folded the sock over itself to form a wad. Sam then held the wad in front of my mouth. I opened my mouth to receive it. With the front of the band covering my mouth OTM style, (my favorite,) Sam then pulled the headband back behind my head, and let it snap into place.

“I really like how these just slip on and off so easily,” Sam stated. That's when the light clicked on in my brain.

“Thhtsh ih!” I snapped. Everyone blinked.

“What?” Lucy asked me.

“Ww'll ccll ih h shlp-hn ghg,” I told them.

“Come again?” Linda asked me.

“H shlp-hn ghg,” I repeated.

“A Slip-On Gag?” Sam asked. I then nodded yes. Good ol' Sam. Our champion of deciphering gag talk.

“Hey, that's actually really good Kate,” Linda complimented. “We'll call them Slip-On Gags.”

“It fits perfectly,” Lucy stated, and we all kinda snickered. “In more then one sense,” She added. Sam then pulled out another piece of rope. Who would her next victim be?

“So, who wants to tie me up now?” She asked. Okay, the next victim was herself.

“With pleasure,” Linda said, with a sneer. Sam then allowed herself to be bound and gagged in much the same manner as me.

So yeah, we all kinda took turns tying each other, and also experimenting with our newly named Slip-On gags as well. I could only imagine how Kelsey was going to react to this tomorrow.

Part 11: In conclusion, Kelsey is introduced to a secret society.

Sunday, Noon...

So yeah, the morning was kinda the same old stuff with Dad now having to go to work again. Normally this is where I'd head over to either Sam or Lucy's House, but with Kelsey coming over, they decided to visit me today instead. Linda was on a shopping trip with her Mother, so unfortunately, they wouldn’t be able to join us today.

It was a pretty chilly, so I went with something warm and comfortable. I decided that a red plaid flannel shirt with long sleeves would be just perfect. My shirt was tucked into a pair of blue denim cut-offs over a pair of black leggings. As for my hair, I had my side bangs pulled into an ornamental pony tail. Lucy likes to call it my Winter-Daisy-Duke Outfit.

Sam was dressed for cold weather as well in a pair of gray sweatpants, and a green hooded sweatshirt. Her hair was left loose. Lucy went with a zip hoodie over her Fire Emblem T-shirt that she paired with some cargo pants.

As twelve o'clock rolled around, we were all sharing a nice lunch of Mac n Cheese with crab meat mixed in. All three of us were looking forward to seeing how Kelsey was doing after the kidnapping.

“So, do you know when Kelsey's arriving?” Lucy asked me. I shook my head no.

“Not really,” I answered, after finishing a bite of my lunch. “She said She'd call me when she was on her way,” I then explained. We continued eating our lunch until we all heard the phone ring. We all then rushed to the living room. I picked up the phone, and answered it.

“Hello,” I said.

“Hi Katie, I'm glad I got the number right,” Kelsey said back.

“How are you doing?” I asked.

“I'm doing great. I just wanted to let you know that we'll be over shortly,” Kelsey stated.

“Great, we look forward to seeing you,” I said.

“See ya soon,” Kelsey then said. We both said our good-byes, and I hung up the phone.

“She's on her way,” I told my friends, as I put the phone down.

“Great,” Lucy said. We then went back to the kitchen to finish our lunch.

* * * *

Once we were done with lunch, my friends and I rinsed off the dishes, and put them into the dishwasher. All we had to do now, was just sit back, and wait for Kelsey to arrive.

For a while we played some Pokémon on our 3Dses until we heard the doorbell ring. We all smiled. I got up off the couch, and answered it. Kelsey was standing there with a smile on her face. She was wearing a blue plaid shirt that was left unbuttoned over a white T-shirt, as well as a white skirt. Her hair was kept in a ponytail with a blue scrunchie.

“Hey Kelsey,” I greeted.

“Hello Katie,” She greeted back. She then turned to her Mother who was parked on the side of the road, and gave her a wave good-bye. I gave her a wave as well. Her Mother waved back, and then left.

“Did you have any trouble getting here?” I asked her, as I closed the door behind her.

“Nope,” Kelsey said. She then turned her attention to Sam and Lucy.

“Hey Sam. Hi Lucy,” She greeted.

“It's good to see you Kelsey,” Sam greeted back.

“It's also good to see that you weren't too shaken up by yesterday's little event,” Lucy then added. To my surprise, Kelsey snorted.

“Truth be told, I found it more boring then scary,” She said. “I'm not going to lie, it was scary at first, but they never really bothered me that much except to give me food.”

“Plus given the fact that they were unarmed must have made it easier to cope as well,” I stated.

“I didn't know that until Mr. Peterson brought it up, but yeah,” Kelsey said. “The worst thing they did was steal my leg.”

“You should add that to the list of charges: Grand Theft Leg,” Sam suggested, and we all laughed.

“They didn't have to tie her feet like they did with me,” I added, and that's when Kelsey turned to me with her eyes narrowed.

“That reminds me, you never did tell me how you got your hands in front of you,” She stated. I just grinned at her.

“Well, I could tell you, but I think it would be more fun if I showed you,” I told her. Kelsey just blinked at me.

“I'm sorry, what?” she asked.

“Excuse me for a moment,” I said, and got up off the couch.

I went upstairs to my bedroom, and got out one of my ten foot pieces of rope. I then went back downstairs, and handed the rope to Sam.

“Oh my god, you're actually doing this,” Kelsey said. She looked like she was about to start laughing.

“You want in on a little secret?” I asked her, as I put my hands behind my back, so that Sam could tie them together.

“Uh, sure,” Kelsey answered, although she sounded a bit unsure. Curiosity was getting the better of her though.

“My friends and I have been doing this sort of thing for fun for several months now,” I told her, with a smile. I then felt a knot being tightened, so I knew Sam was done.

“What tying each other up?” Kelsey asked, clearly stunned.

“You'd be surprised how much fun it is when you're doing it with friends,” Lucy said.

“Um, I'll take your word for it I guess, but I'll need to think on it for a bit,” Kelsey said. She seemed to be taking it very well. “Anyways, let's see your trick,” She then told me. I smiled at her, and did my routine. I leaned back onto my shoulders, slid my hands across my legs, and brought them in front of me. I then undid the knot with my teeth.

“Nothing to it,” I said.

“That's it?” Kelsey asked.

“That's it,” I answered. Kelsey just shrugged, and left it at that.

“So, shall we watch a movie?” Sam then suggested.

“Sure,” I said.

“Sounds good to me,” Kelsey added. My friends adjourned to the TV room while I went back up to my room to put the rope away. I then went back down to see my friends sitting on the couch while Lucy chose to sit in one of the recliners. Kelsey had also removed her prosthetic leg, and set it down beside the couch armrest.

“By the way Katie, I heard from Mr. Peterson that your Dad is a former SEAL. Is this true?” She then asked. Sam, Lucy and I all nodded.

“Yep, and my Uncle is a former Gunny from the Marine Corps as well,” I told her. Kelsey looked quite stunned.

“Oh my lord, my Dad's also in the Marines,” She said.

“Oh cool,” I said.

“What movie are you putting in?” Lucy asked me, as I went to the shelf that had our DVDs.

“Top Secret,” I said.

“Oh good grief,” Lucy said, and started laughing.

“Have you seen Top Secret Kelsey?” I asked her. She looked thoughtful for a moment.

“No, I don't think I have,” She said.

“You'll love it,” Sam said, as I hit play.

And that Ladies and Gentlemen is how a kidnapping leads to a rescue. Kelsey actually took it in great strides. Although her captors were much more forgiving then mine. That being said, I was pleased with the fact that I finally had the peace of mind I was looking for as well. Join me next time for my birthday.
