Tape

What is the difference between duct tape and Gaffer tape? Is one more sticky than the other, I've read that gaffer tape doesn't leave residue. Is there a better tape for gagging than these 2?

I believe that gaffer tape is probably the English form of duct tape.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

From my research, gaffer tape is used in the music and theatre industry for taping down cords and such to hide them and is matte finish so the light will not reflect off of it and doesn't leave residue when removed. I'm wondering more about the adhesion properties. Still doesn't mean you are not correct though.

You could be correct!! Tape and its adhesive properties is an interesting subject too. Personally I find it rather useless for a gag other than securing a hakie(or even panties) into the mouth. As for fastening up someone- well it does not really work and rope is the better. try this one- gag with a hakie and secure with a scarf or something. Place over the victims head a stocking(or tights leg) and then over this wrap as much tape over the stocking so securing the scraf in the mouth. The advantages are- that a lot of tape can be used and tight as it does not stick to the hair and it is effective. I used brown parcel tape as the stuff i buy is really strong and sticky(see my pic below). I understand that tape on the legs is not too bad but I am basically a rope person - of course if anyone can make a good case form tape then I an quite happy to listen and try .

I got a huge roll of gaffer tape for christmas and I noticed straight away that it was much stickier than duct tape and it had more closely weaved fabric backing.
