Snowstorm f/M

Postby lasse672000 » Wed Dec 26, 2012 3:26 am

The thermometer showed double digits below zero, and a blizzard was howling. 14 year old Susanna huddled behind a rock trying to find as much shelter as she could.
She was above average height for her age-group, but below average-weight for her height, in other words, she was quite tall, but skinny. She was dressed in a red, one-piece snow-suit, with a furry collar, and brown leather boots, with furry insides to keep the feet warm. She wore her grey, knitted hat so low on her fore-head it almost covered her eyes, and her long, knitted grey scarf, she had pulled all the way up over her nose. Although she wore white knitted mittens, he hands were by now as cold as ice, as were her legs, despite her wearing jeans, long-johns, woolly pantyhose and knitted socks, besides the boots.
“I have to find shelter somewhere soon!” she desperately thought. “Otherwise I’m going to freeze to death! Oh! It’s so COLD!” She stomped her feet, in an effort to get the blood flowing a bit faster. It actually worked; for a second or two.
Suddenly she saw a flickering light she could have sworn hadn’t been there one minute earlier. She stumbled towards it, and soon found herself pressing her body against a grey timber-framed cottage. After having fumbled around for a while, she found the door and pounded on it.

The door opened, and an elderly man peered out at her.
“Who are you and what are you doing in the forest in this weather?” he asked in a creaky old-man’s voice.
“Please, sir! My name is Susanna, and I think I’m lost! I was on my way home when the blizzard came and surprised me! Would you mind terribly, if I came inside for a while, before moving on: just to warm up a bit?”
“Oh, my dear girl, yes of course you can! Come in, come in, and sit by the fire! I’ll get you something warm to drink.”
Susanna stepped inside, took her snow-suit off, and sat down in the chair the old man pointed at. He gave her a cup of hot cocoa, which she gladly accepted.

Soon she felt the warmth spread throughout her body, and she began to doze off. To stay awake, she began looking around the cottage. It had only one room, which was fairly cluttered by cages in all sizes, and the walls were covered in coils of rope and chains. The old man saw she looked at the walls, and told her he had been a trapper in his younger days.
He took one of the coils of rope from the wall, handed it to her, and asked her what she thought of it.
“I’ve made it myself!” he proudly stated. “I even made my own chains and locks, back in the days. It is way stronger and smoother than anything you could buy, even in a top-end store, that’s for sure.”

When he saw the sceptical look on her face, he took the rope from her hands.
“Here, let me prove it to you.” he said and grabbed her hands from behind. Despite her protests, he began winding the rope around her wrists, and knotted it off between them, where she wasn’t likely to get at it.
“See?” he asked, as Susanna frantically started trying to get free. “I was right, wasn’t I? It is very smooth and strong.”
“Yes. Yes, that it is.” she huffed. “Now, could you please untie me? I’d like to go home now, if you don’t mind.”
He put up a puzzled look. “Untie you? Let you go home? I most certainly will not! You came here by your own, free will, so you’re here to stay, and that’s that!” He took another coil, bent down with surprising agility, and tied her ankles together. A third rope around her waist, firmly secured her to the chair.

Although being only 14, and severely panic-stricken, Susanna began questioning the old man’s sanity.
“I’d better try to calm down, and stay calm. If I can’t reason with him, the next best thing to do I guess, is to play along in whatever game he’s playing. Sooner or later I’ll get my chance, and then I’ll be out of here quicker than next month’s pay-check.” She took a couple of deep breaths to steady her nerves, and asked him why he had done this.
He turned around, took her snow-suit which she had hung on a nail on the wall, put it in a cupboard, and locked it.
“Why? Because I have no one to keep me company. That’s why. You can’t even begin to comprehend how lonely it can get out here. So when I saw you standing outside my door, I thought you were the perfect answer to all my prayers.”
“M-hm, I see,” Susanna nodded. “And how are you going to keep me from running away? Or are you going to keep me tied to this chair forever?”
“Oh, Goodness, no!” he said and chuckled. “Most of the time I will, but sometimes I’ll put a chain around your waist so you can go outside, provided the weather is suitable, of course.”
“M-hm, I see!” Susanna again nodded. “What about at night? Am I supposed to sleep tied to this chair, which will be very uncomfortable, or do you have something like a spare bed I could use? And before you offer to share your bed, let me tell you I refuse to!”
“Share my bed with you? Are you quite mad, girl? I’ve always slept alone, and intend to do so, until the day I die! No, I will of course arrange an appropriate bed for you, don’t you worry.”
“By the looks of you, the day you die doesn’t seem to be that far away!” Susanna thought. “OK, O.K.” she said, shrugging as best she could, “just asking!”

The days dragged on, with an eerie feeling of being one and the same. Susanna’s bed was an old, narrow four-poster bed, and at night when she laid in it, the old man tied a piece of rope around one of her wrists and to the posts, and for most of the day she was tied to a chair. Whenever she needed to go outside, he let her put on her snow-suit, and wound a heavy chain around her waist, locking it in place with a heavy-duty padlock. She waited and waited for an opportunity to escape that never came, and she became more and more desperate. She so wanted to get home.

One day, around mid-day, he told her to get her snow-suit, hat and scarf on, tied her hands behind her back, gagged and blindfolded her, grabbed her arm and led her out of the cottage. He led her to a car, pushed her into the back-seat, got into the driver’s seat and drove off. After having driven for a while, he stopped and yanked her outside again. She could hear they weren’t in the forest anymore; but where were they? There were sounds of cars, and people all around.
After having walked a few steps, he told her there were some steps ahead of her, and that he needed to be careful, so she wouldn’t trip on them. She counted, and there were seven steps in all, then there was a flat surface again. She could feel him rummaging around in her pocket, where she kept her keys and take them out. What was this? Was she at home? Had he suddenly decided to let her go?
She could hear him fumble around with them, but eventually get a key in the lock. He pushed her inside, and without letting her take her snow-suit off or even remove the blindfold or gag, into a room. He pushed her down on a bed, and tied her wrists to the top end of it, and her feet to the bottom end, so she lay like an “X”.

“So,” he hissed in her ear, “for now we go our separate ways. Good bye, my dear! Tell your parents, I said ‘Hello’, won’t you? I called them earlier, and told them you’d be home around two o’clock. It is now a little after half past twelve, so I’m afraid you’ll have to lie there for a while. I hope you don’t mind?”
Susanna shook her head, and the old man left, leaving her keys on the bedside table.
When she heard the door shut, she sighed, pulled at ropes a couple of times, just to make sure she was safely tied to the bed, and relaxed. It would be a long wait, and her grandfather had done a great job tying her to the bed.
‘All in all’, she thought as she lay there waiting, ‘these past few days hadn’t been too bad. Sure the old man had improvised a couple of times, and ‘gone a little bit off script’ so to speak, but he had pretty much kept his end of the deal, as she had kept hers’.
Whazzzz up!.
