PASSENGERS

It’s a bit of a shame really. But the Professor and his colleagues from the university’s school of art couldn’t tolerate it any longer. There was so much plagiarism on what was supposed to be recreational TUG stories sites that the loyal contributors were either departing in droves or merely spending their time bitching at one another.

Just sitting there with a few old friends from before the internet days, he formulated a plan.

Paul and Ben, being in on the ground floor, understood computer systems inside out and Mark and Keith were very useful thugs.

They formed a policy:
• Using the university’s powerful search engine, following fair comparison any plagiarist would be put on their hit list, hunted down and required to read the collected works of Barbara Cartland.
• Anybody clogging up someone else’s thread with stupid arguments irrelevant to the thread would be forced to read all the James Bond novels and then sit a strict exam proving that they can differentiate between them.
• People who pressure authors to write without making their own contributions must expect a visit from the Professor’s associates.
• Once all the irritating people and the thieves had been dealt with, they could start hunting down the authors of the stories that they didn’t enjoy.

Does this sound like a manifesto?
