Karma's a Bitch

Postby drawscore » Sat Nov 19, 2016 9:32 am

Back in 2013, when the Democrats controlled the Senate, Harry Reid, the majority leader, arbitrarily changed the rules of the Senate, to prevent Republican filibusters of Obama appointments, especially judicial appointments, except for Supreme Court justices. Appointees would get a straight up or down vote. 51 votes confirmed.

Now, the Democrats are bitching and moaning over Trump's appointees to his cabinet, but tough crap! The Democrats changed the rules, and now, they have to live with the changes they made. They won't be able to filibuster any of Trump's cabinet and sub cabinet appointments, no matter how much they whine, bitch, piss, and moan.

I love it when karma comes back to bite them in the ass.

I think that is because most people have no idea who most of Trump's picks are or the ideals they represent.
The real bitch about karma is still in the future, when it gradually sinks into the public's mind what a horrible mistake it has made.

Electing Hillary Clinton would have been an even worse mistake.

We were pretty much screwed either way. This election was lost months ago in the primaries. But it's not exactly the first time one party did something while they were in power they started bitching about when the other party gained control.

Always be careful what power you give yourself--the other party will regain control at some point.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU ARE AN ARROGANT F@!$ AND I WAS GUNNA ARGUE A FEW POINTS BEFORE I READ THIS, BUT NOW, MY GOD, ITS NOT EVEN WORTH THE EFFORT IT TOOK TO TYPE THIS! Careful about that, drawscore might be an ignorant and incompetent chauvenist, who, just like Trump and his other supporters, mistakes his opinion and true facts. Arguring or reasoning with him is useless, but it's still no option to wish him anything bad.
Maybe Trumps supporters and eventually drawscore himself will realize that electing a loudmouth with zero political experience, who think he can change everything by himself, isn't a good idea at all.

My friend, he baited you into this reaction. This is exactly the type of reaction he loves to get. Don't give him the satisfaction.

Don't sweat it. He revels in this kind of thing. I see you are a pretty new member so you haven't been around to see him do this countless other times!

Looks like I forgot that facetiousness (fa-SEE-shus-ness) and sarcasm are for face to face conversations, and do not translate well into the written word.

Still, sometimes the reactions are . . . . . more than one expected. :-D

Oh, and tapeandrope666: That's Mister ******** to you. But then, I forgot. Most of those on the far left revel in insults and name calling. The more moderate leftists are a bit more reserved and courteous, and can make their points without resorting to such childish tactics.

DS - you'd make a Quaker want to become a murderer. For some reason you like to bring out the worst in people, and it's getting old.
It's one thing to make a point people might disagree with. It's another thing altogether to mock them. So kindly scale back the so-called sarcasm or I'm going to delete this thread too and maybe check others more carefully for deliberate attempts to egg people on. Am I making myself clear?

Given who you voted for, you can shut up about this forever. You don't get to pull the lever for a rapist who repeatedly called any woman he didn't like a "pig" among other idiotic insults and then call for civility.

No, Jason. I state a position or opinion. Some disagree, and that's fine. Others bring out the worst in themselves.

>>>It's one thing to make a point people might disagree with. It's another thing altogether to mock them.<<<

So I should just let someone call me a dickhead in a public forum, and let it pass? Would you?

You play the offended party well. But in reality, I have the greater claim to being offended. And you know it.

I agree that the response to your joke about being king was a gross overreaction, but that's not what I was referring to here. It's your tendency to make blanket statements about groups and not back them up that sets off some people (including me).
Example: Most of those on the far left revel in insults and name calling.
This is something i see just as (if not more) often from people on the far right. Or in the middle too. Trump himself revels in insults and name calling. That's how he became famous, for good or bad. So you don't really have a leg to stand on here.

drawscore wrote: So I should just let someone call me a dickhead in a public forum, and let it pass? Would you?

Normally, no. But you've called some people here names just as bad; that's why I let it slide.
But fine, after I post this comment I shall edit out all such references that I find in this thread. Except this one, so people reading this later do not get confused about what all the fuss is about.
But if you want people to stop insulting you, kindly quit insulting the rest of us as well.

I know no such thing, and I have just explained why.
One wonders if your frequent jokes about making you king is more indicative of Trump-levels of narcissism rather than a dry sense of humor. Not an insult mind you; just a question/observation.

And... thread canned... I was going to let it continue after Jason's sensible post, but tapeandrope666 has just continued the BS.

Rule of thumb: if you need to swear in an argument, your argument has no merit. Likewise, a person who is upset about being sworn at is *usually* 100% in the right, and responses like the one above mine are, similarly, weightless and have no merit. This and drawscore's (he drew first cuss blood) show nothing but immaturity and inability to convincingly frame an intelligent argument.

TL;DR it is better to shut up and appear a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I rite on a tabblit, so speling errurs will hap pin free quintly.
