Who knew you could actually get arrested for it?

Postby markusthe1st » Tue Feb 21, 2012 10:19 am

A couple in Oregon had a little kidnap roleplay and actually got arrested for having her bound and gagged, naked, in the back seat.

Check out the story here (thanks to Danger Theatre):

I'd like to party with them!

Let's see, bound, gagged, and naked in public. Yep, I'd say that'll get the cops called every time.

Yeah, that's a bit over the top. The local constabulary would, and rightly so, frown upon such activity. :-) What you do in your own home, is nobody's damn business, but you take it out in public, and it "disturbs or offends" the community standards, then you might rightly expect a visit from police, sheriffs, or state or federal law enforcement.

Don't do dumb shit. (Or, if you do, do it in the privacy of your home or your partner's home.) If you do it in public, don't be surprised if it comes back and bites you in the ass.

What don't you understand about the police's reaction? A naked woman wrapped in duct tape in public...it's a wonder they didn't just shoot the guy thinking he was a real kidnapper. At the very least you have public nudity here. I certainly have no problem with people doing things like this but the whole world doesn't need to know about it. Keep it behind closed doors out of public view.

Well they both explained to the police what it was about. I get the police if it was a real kidnapping and she was in total denial but she was in total agreement in fact it was her idea. that's what I don't understand - a tad over reacting. It shoulda been a slap on the wrist if that, fine you wanna spout the nudity in public thing. I mean obviously am against the real thing - but this was play and they both copped to it - pardon the pun. Gosh no one was hurt or in danger. So much for freedom of expression. Yeah a tad overraction on the police.

I can understand police reaction. If she hadn't been naked would it have been defferent. If she'd been handcuffed and walking smiling and chatting it may have been different.

I wonder if they'll post their pics on facebook

Maybe blindfold, maybe gagged, always barefoot

Remember reading something similar from Becca of www.super-becca.com

She was in the middle of shooting for her website, which had her being tied up and gagged and put in the back of a car down an alley way when the cops stopped her and the photographer. Luckily they managed to convince the cop it was for a website.

He didn't get arrested for kidnapping though. If he had I would be with the rest of you here. They got cited for various minor infractions which they should have.

I think the only real reason they were cited was because of all the ruckus - all the cop cars, the visibility of the whole thing. If it had been a single cop and dispatch hadn't escalated it, my guess is that most cops would smile and walk away.

So, the lesson here is if you have to go out in public, the back of an SUV or trunk is the only safe alternative. That was one hell of a roleplay, though!

Yes an SUV or tinted windows is a must...and he coulda covered her with a blanket until they arrived as well.

heck, what was she doing naked in public? if he's thrown a blanket on her or she was not naked, that would have been different.

I had a similar close call one time, in that my partner had handcuffs on - hands in front - and was sitting in the front passenger seat. This was in the days before cell phones with GPS, and we were on our way to a vacation cabin in the country. I stopped on the side of the road to look at a map, and damn if a state trooper didn't pull in behind me like a minute later!

Long-story-short, when he saw the handcuffs, he pulled me over to the front of his car and asked what was going on. I told him we "were roleplaying" and I had stopped to look at the map. All he did was walk over and ask her if she was okay. Satisfied with her answer, he told me how to find the cabins (apparently this had happened before) and I was on my way.

Of course, she was fully dressed (Fall in New England), not gagged, and only had her wrists and ankles bound (he couldn't see her ankles). Personally, I wonder why this guy not only had her fully naked, but why would he stop at a store like that with her uncovered in the back seat? He was looking for trouble!

For the record, after that happened, we were very careful afterwards. It got real fun when we had a minivan, though!

I've heard the story and, no, the police were not overreacting. If I saw a man hauling off a tied up, naked woman, I'd call the police ASAP! How would you know it was just roleplaying? Since this was a staged act in open public, the woman could have been charged with indecent exposure, a sexual felony in my state, meaning that the woman would have to register as a sex offender. This was an act that went too far.

On the other hand, if you want to talk about cops overreacting, there was a man in Texas who was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping because he was walking home with his black grandchild. The man, who is, of course, white, was stopped and questioned by police when he was walking with his grandchild. The police officer let him go, but as the man and the child neared his home several police officers intercepted them and arrested the man. It took the man's daughter, who is also the child's mother, over an hour at the police station to convince the police that the man was her father, the child hers, and that he was not kidnapping the child. Now, that's the authorities going overboard.

Really! Usually when they catch someone driving with a passenger not wearing a seat belt, they just issue a ticket. :)
