Ask the host(ess) about it. It helps that you know and trust at least a few of the people who will be there---especially the host.
If you're going into this "blind", you should take somebody with you. If not, let somebody know exactly where you're going, and check in when you arrive, at certain times thereafter, and when you leave. Have a codeword that appears to say things are okay, but in reality tells your friend that you're in trouble. If you don't call or use the distress codeword, your friend investigates, preferably with others.
Yeah, I know I sound unduly cautious, but I've heard of a few of these "parties" that turned out badly. Unless they're organized by somebody who's experienced and has a reputation for safety, you're taking a chance. Be safe, and be sure somebody has your back.
