The Gods Have a Sense of Humor and Irony

I just saw on the news, that the Tampa Bay Rays are honoring the victims of the Orlando shooting. Tropicana Field is sold out; tickets were $5, and all proceeds went to the victims.

Oddly, and ironically, the Rays' opponents are from the most gay-friendly city in the US, San Francisco. At this posting, the Giants were leading, 4-0 in the 4th inning.

From what I've heard, opening day is usually a sellout, and when the Rays played the Phillies in the World Series a few years back, the games at the Trop were sold out. Other than that, the Rays have a dismal attendance record. It is said that the fans come disguised as empty seats.

Oh, and the Giants won the game, 5-1. Today, the Rays are leading 3-2 in the 6th Inning.
