“Some date this turned out to be!” 15 year old Alana thought, as her date, Nathan, also 15, tied her to a chair. She was dressed in a black, long-sleeved, ankle-length, satin dress with multiple, cream-coloured petticoats and black, thick pantyhose. On her feet she had black, patent-leather shoes. Her blonde hair hung freely, ending somewhere between her shoulders and her waist. At least until he tied a scarf around her head, holding the balled up napkin in her mouth in place.
He had already tied her wrists behind her back, a rope around her waist making sure they were well anchored to the back of the chair. Now, he was in the process of tying her legs to the legs of the chair. She looked at Nathan, just as he stood up. He was dressed in a black tuxedo, also with black, patent-leather shoes. He wore a white scarf around his neck.
“Are you satisfied?” he asked the man, standing behind him. He walked around the chair, carefully inspecting each and every knot. “Looks OK,” he said. “Now, it’s your turn.”
Ten minutes later, the unlucky couple sat snugly tied to chairs, facing each other. Both were gagged with balled up napkins, scarves and duct tape. The intruder took what he came for, and left.
Earlier that night:
Alana and Nathan met a couple of months earlier at a disco held by her school. She had worn the same type of clothes as tonight, and he said he liked them. By the end of the night, it was as if they had always been together. The next morning, he had called her and said he preferred her being dressed in pantyhose and the ankle-length dresses and skirts she was to be wearing from now on, had to have multiple petticoats. In other words, from now on, she could almost have been a poster-child of the 50’s, as far as the clothes were concerned. Her hair, which already had the length he liked, had to hang loose, maybe a couple of hair-pins, keeping the fringe out of her eyes. Being head over heels in love she, without questioning, accepted the arrangement, and ever since then had stayed true to what he had dictated in that phone-call.
Now, she had been invited to Nathans’ house for dinner, as his parents were out for the night. She, with the help of her parents, had dressed carefully the way she knew he wanted.
When she got there, he had set the table real nicely; with candles, flowers, crystal glasses and the finest table-ware and silver-ware. She could instantly tell, he had really made an effort to impress, and he sure had succeeded.
“I’ve got a surprise for you, later on tonight!” he told her, looking very pleased, you could even say smug. No matter how many times she asked, he always gave the same answer: “Don’t you worry, you will find out!”
They had a lovely dinner, consisting of steak, French fries and soda, enjoying each others’ company.
About an hour later, there was a loud knock on the door. Nathan opened, and a masked man stormed in. He demanded to know where all the valuables were, and as he waved what looked like a gun around, Nathan had no choice but to tell him. The intruder then asked for ropes and gagging material, and promptly got it.
Present:
Alana wiggled around in her chair, trying to find as comfortable a position as possible. She could hear faint grunts coming from Nathan, and his chair creaking, as he tried to break free. The intruder, however, had made too good of a job of tying him to it, so he soon gave up and just sat there, panting.
They both could see the hands of the clock on the mantle-piece move, ever so slowly. They had been sitting there about fifteen minutes, when another intruder burst in. This one, however, had a key.
“Ha, ha! Where are your valuables?” the new intruder hollered. “What the...” he went on, horrified. He quickly freed Nathan and asked him what had happened. Nathan gave him a quick résumé, and hurried to call the police. Only then, he seemed to remember Alana sitting tied to a chair in front of him.
“There’s no time to free you right now, love.” he told Alana. “I’m afraid you just have to wait until the police are gone. If that’s OK with you?” he asked. When she first shrugged, then nodded, the two boys simply picked up the chair and put it in a closet and, just before the police arrived, closed and locked the door.
She sat there, listening to what went on outside, wondering what the hell was going on! Obviously, Nathan had planned some sort of fake break in, and to tie her to a chair, but something must have gone very wrong.
“Boys, and their weird sense of humour!” she thought, shaking her head at the situation.
Another hour, maybe an hour and a half, passed before the cops went away. Shortly thereafter, the door to the closet opened, and Nathan and his friend, Robin, lifted her out again. While Robin had the difficult task of untying her from the chair (she had been moving around so much, the knots had tightened further) Nathan explained everything.
Robin was, as she suspected, supposed to play an intruder, kidnapping Nathan and tying her to a chair. They were to leave her tied up for a couple of minutes, then he’d come back, saying the intruder/kidnapper had been caught by the police.
Before leaving, Alana promised Nathan, she’d not break up their relationship. She kissed him on the tip of his nose and went home.
