Leg cramp

Postby Terry » Fri Dec 04, 2015 7:30 am

How do I stop myself from getting leg cramp if tied up on the floor? I tried experimenting this a while ago with someone and I ended up with leg cramp very quickly. Yet if I am on the bed, I do not get leg cramp. Anyway I can get over this?

Is the floor cold? That might cause the cramp

There are various reasons for muscle cramps, which include the position you find yourself in; engaging in strenuous activity too soon after eating, or sometimes, for apparently no reason at all. About the only things that can be done, are relax, and rub some relaxing agent in, like Mentholatum, or Absorbine Jr.

If you get cramp on the floor but not on the bed (in the same position) the most logical reasons are that the floor is either cold and/or to hard. Both problems might be solved by laying on a carpet instead of the floor itself.

I'd suggest to do more leg exercises if you don't do any atm and be more active, i had this allot of times but it is gone now since i go to the gym allot more (at least 3times/week). If you do that already then i probably don't know how to solve this :)

I don't know. It could be the position I am in. It seems to start from a few seconds or so that I am on the floor. Could be the coldness or the fact that the floor is hard.

What's relaxing agent? I don't know what those are.

It was on a carpet. A carpet on the floor.

Mentholatum and Absorbine Jr. are almost universally available in what we call "drug stores" in the US. They are considered "topical relaxing agents," since they are rubbed into the affected ares, and not taken in pill form. They are called "relaxing agents" because (Duh!) they relax muscles.

I am prone to leg cramps myself. You may need more potassium. A good source of that are bananas.
