I will try to give you a rough rundown of costs for an "average" bondage shoot. As some may know, several years ago I did some shootings myself. Of course, prices vary very much- so you should see the values I give as a very very rough estimate.
I am talking about a professional shooting with hired models- hobby shootings (e.g. with boundgal

) are usually less expensive. However, if you want to run a bondage site, usually you have to show a new model at least twice a year, preferably more often- so you don't get around hiring someone. Besides, issues like taxation usually make it better to make real contracts with the models.
All prices I give are in euros.
Model(s): an "avergae" Bondage model earns between 50 to 150 per shoot- if it's a very prominent one (e.g. ahsley reene, jasmine sinclair etc) propably much more. Often you will need two or more models.
Equipment: you need a professional photo and lightning equipment. Of course, that is not pruchased new every time- but it costs several thousand euros. To have a rough number here, I calculate 20 euros per shooting as rate for that (which assumes a rather high number of shootings)
Location: a lot of shootings are done in the producers (or someone elses) home and are free. However, often enough a separate location is needed (people usually don't want 100 shootings of the same model on the same couch). So you have to spend time in finding new locations- and some cash in renting it.
Aditional persons: depends on the shooting, sometimes you just need someone to lend a hand. Drive people, carry things around...or making the video while you shoot the photos. This usually is anwhere from 0 to 100 euros.
"Toys": you need good (and good looking) equipment. Ropes, gags, blindfolds, whatever else. This stuff doesn't come fro free. Plus, with time it will degrade...ropes don't look so good anymore if used too often etc. This stuff is usually costly- and customers want new stuff often- let's assume 30 euros per shoot.
Overhead costs: People need to travel to the shooting site. Perhaps they need a hotel. Models need makeup. Everyone needs something to drink and eat. Zillion small things which are not expensive- but in total amount to a lot of cash. To my experience, this can easily be as much as any of the above- let's assume 150 euros.
So in total (assuming avergae figures):
1 model - 100 euro
Equipment -20 euro
Location -20 euro
Help -50 euro
Toys -30 euro
Overhead -150 euro
-----------------------
370 euro
And that's for a shooting which is in no way great or special. Often, you need two or more models, driving the cost through the roof. Plus, the figures are on the low site.
High quality shootings with big names, like on the two afforementioned sites, will propably be more than triple the costs.
On the income side...you are lucky if you get one euro from each person for each shoot, in average. So you need to have at least 370 people pay for your shoot to just break even. And I can tell you, you don't sell every shoot millions of times, like with "normal" p0rn.
That's a rough idea why I loathe people who want it "all for free"....
Cheers
