Peta and Bdsm

Postby smtape » Thu Jul 29, 2010 3:46 pm

Peta started a new campaign based around the slogan "whips and chains belong in the bedroom not in the circus"
I believe this can be posted because its an ad.... and im assuming peta wants as many people to see it as possible but if not then please take it down.

What has this to do with BDSM or Tugs? They only use a common stereotype about another minority to further their own agenda...

PETA kinda has a kinky side to them, haha. I actually saw something similar before by them, I was outside a grocery store, and they were on the corner with megaphones and signs protesting something, and they had a small dog cage, and inside the cage was a beautiful girl wearing a wool dog suit without the mask, so you could see how beautifl her face was.

I was pretty happy to see that, because like I said she was hot, but at the same time, it was the middle of summer, and just to get their point across they made her wear a big wool suit, and on top of that, the cage was pad-locked, so she was confined there. I didn't have a camera phone at the time but if I had, I would have taken a bunch of pictures.

Arguably this could have been better posted under Pictures, but the point was the political message so I can see why you put it here instead.
After all, who says you can't make your point with visual aids?!
And here is as good a place as any to do that!
Regardless of where it belongs - great pic! :big: :big: :big: :big: :big:

It was under pictures but I moved it here, it really didn't have much to do with bondage as much as a political statement. Don't get me wrong, I love to see a cute girl chained up but their message wasn't to arouse people to go to their local adult shop and buy ropes and chains.

And reminisce of those palmy days
I moon o'er you, Inis Mona
As long as I breathe
I'll call you my home

Oh! That explains Fesselfan's comment then. I'd wondered about that.
I can sort of understand PETA's point though - to an extent. As a kid I saw oxen being whipped at a carnival as they were pulling a load of logs or something and I thought it was about the cruelest thing I ever saw. I remember that it even upset my dad. I never did like circuses or closed cage zoos (open-air zoos like Busch Gardens in Tampa are a different matter) partially for their treatment of animals; though I think PETA's drive to make all of us veggens is pushing it way too far. I'm a dedicated meat eater and always will be. But I can agree with the sentiment of this ad well enough I think. I always thought animal-taming acts were cruel; and bullfights are utterly barbaric(matadors don't just wave capoes after all; they are essentially torturing an animal before it is put to death by the sword).
And I'm ranting again, aren't I? Okay, I'm finished.
