ALEX AND SAM
Secrets of the Sea Chest
Alex showed no sign of going to bed any time soon and even encouraged Sam to struggle because his parents had gone out to dinner and were due to stay overnight to avoid drinking and driving. Besides, all the while he could hear his "little tie-up toy", he wouldn't have to keep checking on him and, even if Sam did manage to free himself of all the ropes, the chest was strong and he'd still be trapped inside it The stream of nonsense kept on unabated even while Alex was playing on his x-box. He congratulated himself on having his sucker of a cousin exactly where he wanted him and even, by contrast, on the way he had deceived his mother. Yes, he was the real Machiavelli. Shame he never knew when to shut up.
By the time Alex thumped on the side of the chest and told his cousin that he was ready for bed and that, if Sam's struggling kept him awake, he would send a certain sound file to a certain uncle of his before breakfast, Sam was free but he did have the sense to pull the knotted fabric back into his mouth before swearing at his cousin.
It was a long night.

Alex got up early again. He needed to get breakfast ready and eaten before his parents returned and saw Sam's rope and gag marks (or so he thought). When he'd brought the first consignment of food and tableware up to his loft, unlocked the chest and noticed that Sam was free, he simply said that it was "played for" so that his superbly prepared breakfast would not have to wait while he untied the loser-kid.
Sam had had all night to hatch a plan. He'd even got Plans B through D in reserve in case Plan A went awry. He heard freedom calling him. He might even be able to get some measure of revenge on the cousin who was so sure that he had him where he wanted him that he had become careless. Not only careless about what he said but also about what he was doing - or, rather, not doing.
Alex's smugness had left him without the sense he was born with. So, instead of making Sam go down to the kitchen and bring the rest of the repast up to the loft, he went himself. Sam DID still have not only the sense he was born with but much, so much more. This was already going better than he could have hoped.
Sam made a guess about the nature of the documents Alex had removed from the chest and just thought he would take a peek at one or two. Having ascertained that they were the damning evidence he required, Sam put on his best innocent look and closed the drawer.
Breakfast and the self-congratulatory chef reappeared and both boys settled to dining. At least poor Sam's battered eardrums got a bit of a rest all the while his cousin was eating.

Once he had finished his own breakfast, Alex announced that he was going to take a shower before his nasty, sweaty little captive could do so. He then stripped to his boxers, took a clean pair from his drawer and made for his en-suite.
Bingo! Alex had simply dropped his clothing on the floor and left it where it fell. That included Sam's phone. Sam knew he would not need to "persuade" his erstwhile captor to give him access to his phone because his stream of bullshit had previously included a running commentary on the way he was clearing any photographs and that sound file from it and transferring them to his computer for inclusion in his masterpiece of the cinematographer's art. After all, he would then have more room for any further embarrassing photographs of his "poor bound-up little cousin", wouldn't he? Blah, blah, blah . . .
All the while Sam could hear Alex's voice singing 'We Are the Champions' and 'Another One Bites the Dust' customised to make paeans to himself and, "Here's one for the loser boy, 'I Want to Break Free'", he could go about photographing the incriminating documents and e-mailing them to himself. He never did like Queen's music.
As Alex commenced his reprise of 'Another One Bites the Dust', Sam prepared his morning surprise and, by the time the singer emerged into the main room once more, he was ready for him.
Alex emerged from the en-suite wearing his clean boxers and towelling his hair off. Sam knew he would have to work quickly. He had taken the belts from both of their jeans and Alex simply didn't see him where he was flattened against the wall by the door through which he emerged. Sam slipped his over-long belt over Alex's shoulders and pulled it tight round his upper arms before tripping him. He didn't take much care over whether his tormentor was likely to hit his head or not. Alex was probably glad of that thick-pile carpet.
Alex offered his opinion that his cousin had been ill-advised in his course of action as he struggled ineffectually underneath him. Sam suggested that he had a lot to learn if that's what he thought. He then took his weight off Alex's back and used the strap round his body to drag him across to where he could reach the other belt. Sam said that he expected that Alex's mother wouldn't be able to think where he got that language from.
Once Sam had seated himself once more, it was too late for Alex to prevent his legs from being pinned together and his ankles were soon secured by two rounds of his own leather belt. Sam took a breather - and a couple of photos with his phone. "No, shut up a minute, I'm just sending these somewhere safe."
Alex was really telling Sam's fortune now so Sam picked up his discarded boxers and absent-mindedly folded and rolled them unseen by his prone victim. "It's a good job you don't wear big ones."
"What the f . . ."
Sam turned Alex over and, let's face it, he could hardly miss his target. The boxers still protruded somewhat from Alex's mouth once he'd clamped his jaws down on them in surprise. Sam clapped his hand over Alex's mouth and explained one or two things to him. He was a bit quieter afterwards. "Now, I'm just going over there. Coming?" Alex found himself being dragged over to where he had dumped his clothing without Sam ever having let go of his mouth.
Sam pointed out the advantages of not spitting out his underpants, among which he listed the fact that he had not yet got any photos of Alex without any clothing at all. Even Alex wasn't too dense to miss the implication of that statement especially as the back of his boxers had been dragged half way down his bum as he was taken across the carpet. A few more entertaining photos showed Alex frantically trying to reinstate his underwear where it was supposed to be with his considerably constricted arms. He did, however, mange to retain his other underpants.
The muffled howl as Alex saw Sam tearing his discarded t-shirt was quite heart-rending really. But never mind. Alex twirled the recently created rag and presented it to Alex's mouth. Was that a sigh of defeat? Yesterday's undies were soon secured in place well enough for Sam's liking so that he could get some peace and quiet for the forthcoming "negotiations". Now all he had to do was to stop his cousin using those really annoying hands to try to escape.
"Oh, look, someone's left some ropes in this old chest. I wonder what they were used for?" Alex wheezed again. Sam checked and noticed that Alex's hands could not touch but he decided that he wouldn't loosen the belt to allow him to force them together. Sam was almost whistling while he worked. On his way back to where he had deposited his host, he picked up his discarded socks and "asked him nicely" to allow him to slip them onto his hands. The happy binder soon had his cousin sitting on the floor with the socks tied onto his hands and his hands bound to his waist. There was plenty of rope left over so, "just for the sake of tidiness" Sam brought it from Alex's left wrist, fed it through both layers of the belt securing his ankles and back up to his right wrist where he tied it off. Alex was now seated on the floor of his own bedroom, bound, gagged and incapable of straightening his legs.
Sam's smug-count exceeded even Alex's at its zenith. He sat back on Alex's chair and started to expunge the pictures and videos (and that sound file) from the computer which Alex had not bothered to power down. He was humming happily to himself. Alex wasn't.

OK, so the boys were in a state of mutually assured destruction but Sam thought that he could at least get some retaliation in before his auntie and uncle returned. Then Alex's phone went. Sam got it.
"No, not at the minute, Auntie Jean." - - - - "Yes, I'll tell him. Take your time, we'll be OK. Bye."
Sam could hardly speak for laughing. "That was your mum. Your folks won't be back until this evening. They said that you had enough money to get some chips. Now, what do you think we ought to do until they come home?" Alex groaned again.
