personal page

Postby ana-tie91 » Sun Sep 09, 2012 10:25 am

i want to make one, i don't know,a weblog or something like that.
honestly i don't know much about sites and blogs so i'm asking u:
_first it must be a personal page for personal stuff, something like my own notebook!
_i don't want something professional, just somewhere i can put writings, and maybe photos.
_and simple enough cus never had one, i have no idea about http language or whatever so i just want to write an article, then post it there and then maybe add a photo, and i should be able to edit it in future...umm...and i can have separated pages for different articles
_and preferably good looking page,u know somewhere i can set a background or chose a theme or...i don't know just want it looking good,

so any idea where should i do that? not so lame not so complex , something popular and easy-use if so..
so pls help i need it soon
thnx and take care

Try Googling either blogspot or wordpress; they're the two biggest blog sites and I believe they are free.
Never used blogs myself; I don't trust the power-that-be-on-the-internet that much.
My advice: Never post anything TOO intensely personal (especially anything that identifies who you are) in one; it could be a big mistake.
Dare to be different... and make a difference.
To boldly go where no one in their right mind has gone before...

With blogspot, there is the option that you can control the readers who see it.

So you can even allow no people to read it, if you so wish.

Blogspot also allows you to label your blog as Adult, so it puts up a warning page first. Skybird, me, Sacha from Danger Theatre, all of us use the system reasonably well.

This would be the worst move possible for you here, because when I was listening to CNBC radio a few weeks ago, they said that no matter what, there is always a legal and free way for roamers to find your personal stuff, and even if you delete it, it WILL stay in Google's database for approximately two years.

DeviantART is good, but only if you are okay with people seeing it-check it out, because i have my own page.

DeviantART only costs money if you want complex stuff, which, from what you have said, you would rather not have, but if you do want it, it is quite easy to switch and costs not a lot ($4.95 a month.)

thnx for all ur kind helpful advices,

Jason i tried wordpress. right now trying to figure out it's features and see if it works for me and maybe i check blogspot as well...about personal matters; no i don't want to put any information of myself it's just about some personal notes which i hardly think ppl want to read, that's why i'v said "personal" so it's ok i guess.

Skybird i will try blogspot, and in case i have some questions can i ask u for a little help? well u if u have time of course

KP, u think it's necessarily for a personal page ? do they delete it if i don't label it adult?

Burner, i thought DVart is for ...for Art works right?! i just want to put my writings. and pics just for background or for decoration of the page, so u think that works?

also thnx to dear Shoxlover for his kind help.
thnx again...take care

DeviantART is not only for art work (even though that was the original idea,) but if you you do end up using it, a tip that took me long enough to figure out, is that you don't need a picture that is an actual picture cover for your article, you can just type words or create art for it.

CRAP!! I just remembered the BEST sight ever to publish work (even for money) which requires no big information unless you charge which is basically designed specifically and exactly for people just like you-the name of it is Scribd-here is the link.

www.scribd.com

You can even read about it there-even I use it!

It is also connected with Facebook and Twitter-optional and not really helpful, but hey?
