Memories of a camp

I’ve just been to the most extraordinary youth-camp. It all started, really, even before the camp started. When I read through the introduction-papers, I noticed that all the campers were required to wear a leotard or a swimsuit at all times. What’s more, we were required to wear it when we boarded the buses, the first day. The name of the camp was peculiar too; Camp Tie-up.
So when the day came for my departure to the camp, I put on one of my leotards (a white one with thin, vertical, multi-coloured stripes). I also packed a couple more in different colours and patterns and went to the pick-up place outside my school. I was one of the last one’s to arrive, even though I live quite close to school.
When we arrived at the camp, we were told to put our bags in the dormitories, and assemble on the yard. At roll-call, there were the usual instructions about behaviour and where was and so on. Then the camp-leader said something odd: “Now to explain the name of the camp. I will now issue you with bags. You can carry these bags around your waist, and must do so at all times. They contain a piece of rope. This is so you can tie each other’s hands at all times. The rule is that when asked, everyone must let his or her hands be tied either at the back or in front of you, at least once a day anything from five minutes up to the entire day. If you don’t want to wait for someone to ask, you can ask someone to tie your hands yourself. However, refusal to do so is not an option. If you haven’t had your hands tied before, I suggest you start at five minutes and work your way up. Occasionally, you can even be asked to have your feet tied together, as well. Extra rope can be found in the shed over there.” He pointed in the general direction of a shed standing in the corner of the field. This is a 24/7 rule, which means you can be asked by somebody day or night. For obvious reasons, you can never be asked when you are near or in the lake. That’s about it, I guess. One more thing! Enjoy yourselves!”
With that, he started distributing the bags, and soon we all had one. Within five minutes, the first people had their hands tied.
Over the course of the three weeks the camp lasted, I got tied up many times a day, sometimes with and sometimes without my feet being tied together. There seemed to be a “tied-hands”-frenzy at night, when we sat by the campfire. A couple of memorable nights, I even slept with my hands tied together in front of me and with my knees and ankles tied together.
Whazzzz up!.
