Your gripes in tied up scenes

Postby Jay Feely » Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:25 am

- One for me is people tying hands and feet too loosely
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

Biggest gripe has to be when people get their hands tied in front of them and get gagged and left on their own. Like... what even is that? xD

I agree with Kauron. My other gripe is when someone is not gagged.

Why is that?
For me, without a gag a tie-up isn‘t completed.
Obey and say 'Yes Master'.

cause I enjoy being tickled and being gagged makes it hard to hear my laugher.

also when they don't tie full the captured. only the hands aren't enough!
Love bound and gagged girls, feet, socks and more :tied: :gag:

For people who have been captured, and tied up, a gag is a must :gag:

People who have been tied and gagged should struggle to get free, instead of just sitting, or lying there :tied:

Also some moaning through a gag, can make the scene better

You would be amazed at the number of times where someone is supposed to be tied up, but the tied hands are never shown, and the actor is not tied at all. He just holds his hands behind his back, usually grasping a wrist with a hand. When the tied hands are shown, usually the tie is so bad, a five year old could escape.

C'mon, Rusty! You need a knife to get out of THAT? Give me a break!

Geez, Israel! My 86 year old grandmother could get out of that!

Israel might not have been tied well, but he does hold a gag well.

As opposed to Rusty, who could give a speech through this "gag."

TV and movies always have terrible gags and bonds. One reason I think is that the actors and actresses don't like the pain of proper bindings and gags.
love cooking, panty/knicker gags, nappies, handicapped.

That's the famous "Hollywood Tie", usually used on the big-breasted blonde.

The most ridiculous part of it is the "gag": some piece of cloth tied before - not into - her mouth.

A bad tie ruins a scene even if you aren't into bondage though. Why would a bad guy be nice about how he ties someone up? "I might kill you if you try to escape but.. let me make this ropes are comfy and as loose as possible there" xD. I also hate when they intend to keep someone from escaping but don't tie up their feet or their legs? C'mon

I also despise "loosies." We need more of our own kind in hollywood.

I have a feeling that so often the director and props managers are either not acquainted with tying and gagging people or they are and don't want to give the impression they are into this stuff. There is also the comfort of the actress / actor to consider in this situation. A loose gag and a loose tie is easier to remove for a drink of water or a trip to the bathroom.
To tie or be tied? I'm not one to care as long as there are gags!

I have read that it is indeed often for the comfort of the actors, but not necessarily for letting them go to the bathroom. Filming often takes much longer than the amount of time that you see in the movie. There is an issue in filming called continuity. The filming of a five-minute scene might actually take hours for various reasons - retakes, technical issues, etc. As an extreme example, for the film "Whispers in the Dark", Annabella Sciorra says she was bound and gagged for twelve hours. Yet the appearance of the bonds and gag at the end of the scene must be the same as it was at the beginning. The easiest way to achieve that is: don't release and retie. Being tightly tied and gagged for five minutes is one thing. Enduring it for three hours is quite another. A second consideration: time is money. Even if they could exactly duplicate the appearance of the bonds and gag, doing so takes time - and there are a whole lot of people on the clock while that's going on.

there are rare actors and actresses who know how to have a secure binding and gagging and accept it. Gemma Arterton in The Disappearance of Alice Creed is one of them. Good young damsel scene can be found in Flashpoint Through a Looking Glass Darkly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFXO78N_WSo

Except that her hands are taped in front yet she waits till she cuts the tape on her wrists to remove the tape from her mouth. Why don’t bad guys tape hands behind the backs?

Back in 2006, I met this guy off Recon. He said he was into tight bondage and had practiced a lot, and had photos. But they were not his (I found out later).

He tried to tie me up with CUT UP T-SHIRTS and tried to GAG me with MASKING TAPE.....

MASKING TAPE....

Bless his heart. That scene only lasted thirty minutes.

Even worse is when the captor threatens to gag the person but does not do so.

Well that is a reason why you should not meet him again.

IIRC, Gemma Arterton was handcuffed, chained spreadeagled and gagged with a small-to-medium ballgag. Very secure bondage, but much more comfortable than a secure rope tie. In the Flashpoint scene, one of the two had hands taped behind. But the other was in front, and the gag for both was a simple and easily-escaped single strip of duct tape over the mouth.

The logic of the scenario in Alice Creed allowed the more comfortable yet secure bondage. It was a well-prepared kidnaping. Chair ties/tapings can also be secure yet comfortable for the long haul. But in a scenario where those don't apply - e.g., the Flashpoint scene where the bound victims need to be moved around - it gets trickier to restrain someone securely yet tolerably for what might be several hours of shooting. Some people can take it. But even experienced bondage enthusiasts can find their circulation starting to go after an hour or two of wrists tied tightly behind.

Not muffling into the gag is a big one for me.
