Fate has an unusual way of making you regret or rejoice in a decision you have made or that has been made for you.
I was drowing my sorrows at the nearby pub, recently becoming unemployed due to an argument at the house where i used to work. Im a gardener by trade, not the best but it pays the bills for now. The large country house i used to work for had one female owner and i was the only employee she felt required to keep after purchasing the house. She felt she could manage the cleaning and maintenance inside the property, the garden however was left to me effectively. She was still adjusting to the house she had bought a few weeks previously, something which made me a little uneasy.
Suddenly my phone rang and as i glanced at the ID panel in the centre of the phone, i immediately saw it had lit up with the woman's name; Zara.
"Hello" i answered politely, yet with a stern tone to my voice that could suggest to the other end of the phone call i wasnt happy.
"Hi, look i know you are probably pissed off with me and the way i spoke to you but i just got locked out and left my keys inside. Would it be possible for you to let me back in?"
"Whats in it for me?" I asked, playing hard to get.
"In it for you? We might be able to talk about your old job and getting it back."
"So let me get this straight, you are locked out of the house unsure of the emergency unlock code and without a key. You are unable to access the house without me...doesnt this put me in the driving seat here?" I chuckled to myself as she nervously breathed on the other end of the phone.
"What is it you want? Cant we work this out? Come on please? Its getting late and im only in this skimpy brown bikini." Zara moaned and pleaded on the other end, but with the poor attitude she was known for i was finally convinced and ready to take a chance on her misfortune.
"Okay, you want access to your house again, here is what you are going to do, you know, to prove how much you want it." I chuckled down the line as my head filled with ideas. She truly was in a desperate scenario, it was time to take advantage.
