Looking for Gear?

Postby snobound » Thu Jan 27, 2011 7:24 am

Anyone who's read my stories knows that I have a bit of a leather obsession. Okay.... a huge leather obsession. For a while now, I have been searching for a set of leather restraints that I'm unable to ruin with moderate thrashing/pulling. I've found that most leather restraints fail where the D-ring is anchored to the actual "cuff". Usually a rivet will pop, or I'll just tear the leather.

Well, my problem has been solved since last summer when I was tied up in genuine Humane Restraints. These are the sort made for institutions and the military. The military must have ordered literally thousands of sets of Humane Restraints (and other types) in the last decade or so, because TONS of them have been up for sale on ebay as military surplus NOS (new old stock). These sets contain two ankle restraints, two wrist restraints, and two locking belts- one that's 51" and one that's 30". These restraints and belts are THICK and STRONG! Highest quality that I've seen- and I'm a true gear afficionado.

If you're at all interested, check in at the ebay site daily. Search for: Humane Restraints, military restraints, leather restraints, etc... you'll really have to search, but they're there. These sets originally retailed for over $100.... and are well worth it at THAT price. However, on Ebay, I've managed to pick up four sets ranging in price for $19 to $37.... an absolute steal.

A note of caution... two companies manufactured these sets for the military... Humane Restraint and King's Point. The restraints made by King's point are shit- thinner, shorter, and narrower than those made by Humane Restraint. However, the belts that accompany the restraints seem to be of the same high quality, regardless of manufacturer.

These things pop up and get snatched up quickly by those like us..... check in often, and you'll almost certainly find a pair. I'll post some pics below so you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'll even show the Humane Restraint vs. the King's Point versions. Happy shopping....

Below are a few images of the Humane Restraints that I recommended. The wrist and ankle restraints can be secured with either a padlock or the locking belts that come with the set. When I mean locking belts, I mean they lock with a key.... very unique. These are the real deal.

Here are a couple of pics of the crappy King's Point brand. The second compares the Humane wrist restraint to the one from King's Point. Note the strange orientation of the metal "staple" vs the traditional design of the Humane Restraint version...

From the same seller that I bought from..... he must have a ton of these. Get one while they're still there. No restraints purchased from a bdsm manufacturer will compare. Twenty bucks?? You can't go wrong. I promise.

Here's a link to the specific listing on ebay..... GET ONE!!!

EDIT: Crap! This one got taken up already.... hopefully by a board member. This guy will relist in a day or so- keep checking.

LOL

I only wish I knew his source. Everyone needs a set, and then they need to get on here and describe how they put them to use!

I just can't believe how inexpensive they are. I've spent an embarrassing amount of money on gear, and know how cheaply most stuff is made. Even the top of the line stuff from sites like Mr. S doesn't hold up well under "heavy use". These things were made to subdue crazies and POWs....

Oh- and check out that link. Look at how this dude misspelled "restraint". He put in "restaint" in the title. That's one of the tricks to finding cheap stuff on ebay- search for common misspellings of items that you're looking for. I'll type in a search phrase like "leather restaint" and find auctions that are just about to end... with no bids... because most searches wont find the item.

Anyway- add to your collections!
