Plane crashes above Ukraine.

Last Thursday a plane from Amsterdam to Malaysia crashed in eastern Ukraine. none of the 289 passengers and crew members have survived. The casualties include over 150 Dutchmen, 40 Indonesians, 24 Australians and many more. A famous activist against Aids is also among the casualties.

While there are still some other theories out there by now its 99% confirmed the plain didn't ''just'' crash but was shot out of the skies when flying over Ukraine.

Its equally likely that the ones who shot it down were the pro Russian separatists who already had a conversation listened into were they where freaking out over it and who conveniently sabotage any investigator visiting the crash site and who are disgustingly messing, occasionally looting from the crash site. They don't seem to have done it on purpose though, it was a terrible mistake.

Title should be Plane crashes in rebel-held area of Ukraine.

That's kind of self evident isn't it?

I notice that the USA seems to be subdued about what has happened, which is nothing to be surprised about.

After all, you do not want to draw attention to 'The elephant in the room' when its twenty-six year old twin brother is standing next to it.

That seems to be an odd fact to just throw in there.

Anyway, I really don't understand why they shot this thing down. What did they think they were going to gain from doing it? Any sympathy for the rebels in Ukraine just went down the drain.

I may be a tad too young to get it but why fly over a war zone?

Sometimes it's a massive detour, plus in both instances people thought that the commanders with their fingers on the button would be so stupid as to end up shooting down a civilian airliner. Hopefully the Airline Companies realise after this one that you are not safe.

...and fuel savings. Either way, not sure why they didn't learn from Iran Air or Korean Airlines.

I bet it'll cost them a lot more now.

A man deticated his life to help his fellow man gets shot down by them, i think thats pretty noteworthy.

Just because they shot the plane down doesn't mean they wanted to, its probably incompetence rather then malice. With them being merely armed amateurs and extremists rather then proffesionals, and with this severly hurting their cause incompetance is the most logical explanstion.

Whether it was deliberate or not, it was a human tragedy. Innocent people, including young children , have lost their lives. Their families will be devastated. They were innocent victims, who got caught up in a stupid domestic argument. I notice Mr Putin has gone very quiet, since the plane was shot down.

Remember, that a generation ago the United States military blasted an airliner, killing even more men women children than have been killed in this instance by the Ukraine rebels. That was another horrible 'mistake'. Putin is rightly perceived as the person to blame this time, and he has lost a lot of respect of the people worldwide, but he will survive. The civil war will continue.

So many senseless deaths of innocent people from nations around the globe. I watched CNN's complete coverage of the National Day of Morning for the dead, and the handling of the receiving of the remains in the Netherlands. From beginning to end it was presented with great dignity and sensitivity. The people of Holland deserve a lot of praise for the way they handled the sad moment in their history. I share in their mourning.
