Perception

How do most people perceive the idea of tying someone up, whether it be for a game or for different reasons?

When I bring up the topic of someone being tied up, they remark, "ooh, kinky." Then, I get too embarrased to say anymore because I know that at that point, they're not on the same wavelength as I am.

Many people that I believe WOULD have an interest are usually uncertain with the whole thing. Some people even perceive it as an act that only homosexuals would commit...

However, this board stands as a testament against that assumption. So, why is this? Why do most people now see TUGs as a bad, or, unaccepted act in today's society? I'm pretty sure that a few decades ago, people were more comfortable when a friend asked if they could tie them up (Again, board stories can verify this).

Today, it feels as if it's impossible to find fellow TUGgers who are just in it for the fun (well, mostly fun, they can have their fetishes if they want).

Well, any thoughts on this?
Tie me up, put a sock in my mouth, I promise I won't struggle~

Finding aura is a difficult task

I think you hit that one out of the ballpark there. Especially with the times changing

I think part of it is most people really do immediately think of bondage in a sexual context. Let's face it, that's not exactly a rare thing. While I think most people are here because of the fun aspect if you look closely enough even the majority of people here at least hint at some aspects of sexuality. People don't generally discuss things of that nature with others. And really, I can see why some people would think it's weird to be into it.

BDSM activities these days seem very common in my perception. You even can't watch a crime series without seeing such things now and then.
And honestly...I don't find it that hard to find a partner for Tugs. Well...if you stop when someone says "oh kinky", it's only a small surprise for me that you find it impossible...

I haven't talked about tie ups to much with people but the few times it came up they usually said somthing about it being weird or something so thats why i dont bring it up I guess.

Well...Imagine someone would bring up something unexpected in a conversation with you. The usual reply is..."it's weird". This does not- at least automatically- mean they are uninterested if approached correctly and the matter is explained patiently. In fact, I had some of my best TUGs with girls who initially found this all "weird and kinky" and would "never do something like that" themselves. :tied:
