Part 1: In this part, Sam's family is held hostage by the greatest trick-or-treaters ever.

Friday, October 30th. 8:00pm...

----Katie----

(Oh boy, here we go.)

It was the night before Halloween. The sky was clear, and the moon was shining brightly over the house that loomed in the darkness. The wind whistled through the bushes that surrounded it's base. The house was dark with the exception of one light. All of a sudden, a screech echoed from inside.

Within the walls of the house a ghoulish creature stalked it's halls. It was moving ever closer to the source of the light.

“What are you all doing?” Sam's Mother asked.

“We're playing Fatal Frame,” Sam answered.

Hi everybody. So yeah, it was the night before Halloween, and Sam was hosting a sleepover for Lucy and me. Linda was invited, but she was helping her family make final preparations for tomorrow's big Halloween party, so she wasn't able to make it. Lucy however decided to help us get into the spirit of things, and brought over a few horror themed games for us to scare ourselves with. (Oh, and I should mention that Sam's Mother is NOT ghoulish.)

It was eight O’clock, and we had just finished dinner, and we were now playing what is considered one of the best horror games ever made: Fatal Frame, and we were doing it at night no less. Sam was currently playing while Amy, Lauren, Lucy, and I were providing feedback about the story, and other means of support whenever we could. Although if one of us gets a game over, we pass the controller along to someone else.

All five of us were already dressed in our pajamas. Lucy had on a pink one piece sleeper. Sam had on a two-piece micro fleece pajama set that consisted of pants, and a shirt that buttoned up into a notch collar. They were dark blue with light blue polka-dots.

The Twins had on the same type of pajamas as their big sister, but these ones were black with white snowflakes on them. Amy decided to wear a white T-shirt while Lauren was wearing the shirt that came with the set. As for me, during the colder months I go with a pair of fuzzy pink pajama pants, and a red plaid flannel shirt with long sleeves.

“Okay, so where do we go from here?” Sam asked. Her mother was now leaning over the couch watching us.

“I think you need to head back down to the basement,” Amy answered.

“Don't forget there’s a mask upstairs too,” I stated.

“Yeah, but we can't reach it yet,” Lucy said to me. I then nodded.

“Oh, yeah. That's right,” I said back. Sam then went back down stairs, and entered the next room. We then saw the ghost meter flickering.

“Oh, where is it?” Lucy asked, as Sam flipped out her camera. There was no ghost to be seen however.

“I'm not seeing it,” Sam said. She panned the camera around a bit more, and we all got a VERY up close look at the ghost's face, as it took away a fair amount of Miku's health.

All of us jumped out of our skins, and let out screams. There were also a few “Oh jeez!”s, and “Oh my god!”s thrown in as well. Sam fumbled for the pause button, and we all took a second to calm down. We all then started laughing at what had just happened. Once the shock had worn off, Sam unpaused, and prepared for battle.

“Remember Sam, you need to let it fill all the way before you snap the-Whoa Nelly!” Lucy was interrupted by the ghost quickly rushing at Miku again.

“Lucy I don't think I'll have time for that,” Sam said, as she went back to the camera to try again. This time she let the gauge fill a little bit, and then snapped a photo that did some decent damage.

“Sam, you better move,” I suggested. “If that ghost hits you again, it's lights out.”

“I know that,” Sam said, trying to sound calm, but I could tell her voice was getting a little bit frantic. She set herself up for the next picture, and let the gauge fill just a bit too long. The ghost rushed her, and unfortunately, she didn't react fast enough. “Oh Dammit,” Sam moaned.

“Oh dear,” Mrs. Parker said, sympathetically. Sam then turned to Lucy.

“Well, I guess it's your turn now,” She sighed, and handed Lucy the controller. We then heard the doorbell ring.

“Oh boy,” Mrs. Parker said, as she went to answer the door. We then heard...this.

“Trick-or-treat,” A few deep voices said.

“What the hell?” Sam's Mother responded. It's a little early for trick-or-treating. Don't you think so too? Suffice to say we all kinda had “Uh oh” looks on our faces. We then saw Mrs. Parker walk back into the room with her hands raised. We all yelped when we saw the two men behind her.

They were both dressed in thick coats and pants. Both of them looked to be about average height, and average build. One of them had on a Dracula mask while the other one had on a Mickey Mouse mask. Dracula had a gym bag while Mickey a gun, and it was pointed right at Sam's Mother.

“Uh, move to the couch,” One of them instructed. I didn't know which one it was due to the mask, but it may have been Drakula. Mrs. Parker did as she was told, and sat down on the couch beside Amy and Lauren who both looked quite terrified. I'll admit I was pretty scared too given my more resent experiences, but I was holding on.

“So uh, what do we do now?” Mickey asked his partner. He sounded as though he may be a cup short of a full gallon.

“I-uh-I don't know,” Dracuala answered. I didn't know about my friends, but a large amount of my fear vanished once I heard this. These two didn't have a single clue, so I thought it would be a good idea to give them one.

“Um, you can turn around, and leave peacefully,” I suggested.

“Um, we can't do that. We need money, and you guys have it,” Mickey said. He then looked over at Mrs. Parker. “You do have money right?” He then asked. I was stunned. I looked over at my friends, and I could tell even they didn't look as frightened anymore. That's when I saw the cherry on the top of this ridiculous sundae.

I got just the right view of Mickeys gun, and saw something very bad. Well, actually it wasn't what I saw. It was what I didn't see.

“What are you snickering about?” Lauren asked me, as she still seemed a bit uneasy.

“I'll tell you in a little bit,” I whispered back to her.

“Hey. No talking,” Dracula requested. It wasn't even a snap, or a bark. It was strangely nonchalant. I was now trying hard not to laugh.

“You know, these girls might be a problem for us,” Mickey then said. I had a feeling I knew where this was going, but given the lack of brain voltage between these two, I wasn't counting on anything for sure.

“Do you think we could...tie them up? Like in the movies?” Dracula asked.

“Oh please no,” Amy begged.

“Hey, I said no talking,” Dracula insisted, although it sounded more like whining. I'd also like to point out that it is the guy without the gun giving the orders here. Amy just sighed. Dracula then turned back to Mickey.

“Do you have anything to tie them with?” He asked.

“Uh, no,” Mickey answered. Dracua looked at a loss, and so he turned to Sam's mother for guidance

“Uh, Lady? Do you have anything we can tie you with?” He then asked. Sam's Mother looked at us. I was still trying to keep a straight face, because I knew the big secret in all of this. Amy and Lauren still looked kinda worried. She then looked at Sam.

“It's okay Mom,” She said, in a reassuring tone.

“As long as we do what they say, I'm sure they won't hurt us,” I added, although it was more to help me not laugh. Mrs. Parker then nodded, and turned back to the (snicker) robbers.

“We have some duct tape in the garage,” She said.

“Oh, okay, can you please go get it?” Mickey asked, and rather politely I might add. Mrs. Parker rolled her eyes, and got up off the couch to go fetch the tape.

I would hate to be the guy to claim to be your biggest fan, so I'll settle for saying just how much I love your stories. I also hope to eventually write dialogue as well as you do.

Part 2: In this part, a few secrets are revealed all at once.

Mrs. Parker returned with the tape in hand. Dracula stretched out his hand to take it from her. She placed it in his hand, and she then sat back down on the couch again.

“Well, I guess you should go first,” Dracula said to her. “Could you put your hands behind your back please?” He then asked. Mrs. Parker did as she was instructed. The bad guy then taped her hands up real tight. It was a very professional job, and-okay I'm lying. He did like one loop around her wrists, and called it good. Given the amount of time that Sam, Lucy, and I had worked on this craft, it was kinda insulting to watch. His next victim was Lauren.

“It's okay Lauren, be brave,” Her mother insisted. Lauren nodded yes, and put her hands behind her back. Dracula gave her the same treatment as her mother. Next came Amy, then Sam, then Lucy, and finally me. That was it. No tape to our ankles, and no gags either.

“Well, I guess that should do it,” Dracula said. I then decided to see just how stupid these two really were.

“Hold on a second, aren't you going to leave the tape here?” I asked.

“Why?” Mickey asked back.

“Well, if we get loose you'll want the tape close by to tie us back up again,” I stated. “Right?”

“Yeah, okay,” Mickey said. “You're smart, I like you.”

“Aw, you're so sweet,” I said, with innocent eyes. I also thought I heard Sam and Lucy trying to hold back laughs now. Now that both robbers were satisfied, they both left us to loot the house. Once they rounded the corner, I started laughing to myself.

“Katie, what is so funny?” Mrs. Parker asked.

“Well, first of all...” I started, and then gave Lucy, and Sam a nod. All three of us then slipped our bound hands out from under our legs, and back in front. We then used our teeth to remove the tape entirely. Sam's bonds actually broke loose halfway under her knees which made her laugh.

“What the-” Mrs. Parker said, clearly surprised at how automatic our response was. Sam, and Lucy untied Amy and Lauren while I untied Mrs. Parker. “Katie, you realize if they come down here, and catch us, they may shoot one of us,” Mrs. Parker said, with a hint of fear.

“No they won't,” I said, confidently.

“And how do you know this?” Lucy asked me, in an intrigued tone.

“Did you see the gun?” I asked her.

“Yeah, what about it?” Lucy asked back. I then revealed the big secret.

“The clip is missing. It's not loaded,” I revealed. Everyone blinked at me. “This whole thing is all a bluff.”

All fear was instantly drained from the room.

“You're kidding me, and I fell for it?” Mrs. Parker asked out loud, and sounded clearly annoyed.“Alright, Girls? We need to just leave the house, and call the police,” She then insisted. “Katie, is your Dad still up?”

“Yeah, he should be up,” He answered.

“Okay, we'll head over to his house,” Mrs. Parker suggested.

We all nodded, and took our routes out of the room. We didn't even make it halfway out, as it sounded as though Dumb and Dumber were coming back this way. I could hear them talking to each other. We all kinda just held our positions while I just folded my arms in front of me.

“I still can't believe they fell for it,” One of the robbers said. The sound of his voice suggested that he just gained a whole lot of brain cells in a very short time.

“Come on, it's always worked for us before,” The other man said. All of a sudden, they didn't seem so stupid.

“So, I'm guessing the whole brain-dead gimmick was just to throw us off?” I asked, as they passed by the opening. They both jumped a bit, and surveyed the scene.

“How did you all get loose?” Dracula asked me. I snorted.

“Easy, you're the one who tied us,” I taunted. Mrs. Parker looked quite startled at the audacity I was showing, but I had nothing to fear at this point. Mickey pointed the gun at me, but I showed no fear. Besides, it's hard to be afraid of a gun when the guy carrying it is wearing Mickey's smiling face.

“And I suppose you could do better,” He grumbled.

“As a matter of fact I could,” I stated proudly.

“Katie, please stop,” Mrs. Parker insisted. Mickey walked over to me, and put the gun right to my face. Again, I just grinned.

“Then perhaps you can show us how it's done you little bitch,” He snarled. I just chuckled.

“Haha, uh, no,” I responded.

“Tie them up, or I'll shoot you,” Mickey demanded.

“With an unloaded gun?” I questioned. I saw Mickey's face twitch over to his gun. He must have known that I saw it. Well, the secret was out now. Mickey tried to club me over the head with the gun, but I ducked under it, and kicked him over the back of his head. It had been a while since Dad and I had done our exorcises, and these two morons would be perfect sparing dummies.

Dracula lunged at me, but all I had to do to stop him was side step with my foot outstretched. He tripped over my foot, and landed nose first onto the floor. Thankfully, he narrowly missed the back of the couch. He yelled in pain, as his partner got back up.

Mickey and I stared each other down for a little bit. I then quirked my eyebrows at him a couple times in an attempt to get him to do something stupid. He swung a punch at me, and missed wildly. I barely had to avoid it. I kicked him three times, and he was back on the floor again.

Dracula, who had now recovered a bit decided to plant his foot into my back, and send me to the floor next. I don't know what he was about to do next, because he never had the chance. Sam had jumped on him from behind. I then Saw that Lucy and the twins all ganged up on Mickey while he was down.

“Sam, let go of him,” I demanded. Sam let go, and ducked out of the way. Dracula aimed one more punch before I kicked his hand away, and aimed two more kicks to his face that finally subdued him. Thankfully, nothing was damaged in the fight. (Well, nothing that belonged to the Parker Family at least.) It was only now that I noticed that someone was missing.

“Sam, where's your mom?” I asked.

“I was calling the police,” She said, as she had now rejoined us. “I have to say I'm impressed.”

“Oh thank you,” I said. I then turned my attention elsewhere. “Sam? Lucy? Shall we gift wrap them for the police?” I asked. Lucy and Sam revealed two things. The roll of tape, and a pair of nauseating smirks.

All Mrs. Parker and the twins could do was stare dumbfounded as the three of us did our work. We tied their hands behind their backs, (with more then one loop of tape,) and we also remembered to tie their ankles as well.

“Katie? Where did you learn all of this?” Mrs. Parker finally asked. “You three instantly freed yourselves as though it was instinct, and now your tying them up as if you've done it before,” She said. She then turned to her other daughter. “Sam?” She asked, expecting an explanation. Sam looked at me.

“Well, we knew it would happen sooner or later,” I sighed. “It all started back at the beginning of summer time,” I started, until a moaning voice cut me off.

“You're hurting me,” Dracula groaned. I snapped my fingers at Lucy who then tossed me the tape. I lifted the mans mask up. I tore off a piece of tape, and taped his mouth shut.

“Would you please not interrupt me while I'm telling a story?” I asked, in an insistent tone. After that was done, we told her the entire tale. From that first time playing smash at my house, to when we helped Linda with the house cleaning.

“And you're saying that you did this all just for fun?” Amy asked. The three of us nodded.

“And your Father helped you with a few of these?” Mrs. Parker then asked.

“Well, yeah,” I told her.

“And Linda's family was helping as well?” Sam's Mother asked.

“Yep. She used to do this sort of thing growing up with her cousin,” Lucy said. Mrs. Parker just shook her head and smiled.

“Wow Mom, you're taking this better then I thought you would,” Sam said, as she folded her arms.

“Well, you know I met your father in the scouts, right?” Mrs. Parker asked. Sam nodded. “He and I may have spent some time alone with a piece of rope...or two,” She said. Sam's eyes widened.

“You're joking,” She said. Mrs. Parker nodded.

“Well, it wasn't anything to write home about, and we only did it once or twice,” She said, in a dismissive tone. “As long as you girls keep it fun and safe, I'm okay with it. I'm I clear?” She then asked.

“Of course,” All three of us said. Amy and Lauren also looked quite puzzled and intrigued by this. (Perhaps a sign of things to come? Hehe.)

* * * *

The police showed up pretty quick. The two morons were put into the back of the cars, and we all gave our statements.

“Is there anything else you'd like me to add?” the officer talking to me asked.

“Um yes, could you make sure their cell mates know that they got beaten up by five teenaged girls wearing their pajamas?” I asked. This made the officer chuckle. It wasn't long before my Dad came outside to see what was going on.

“Oh, Hi Jeff,” The Officer taking my statement greeted.

“Hey Rich,” Dad greeted, back before turning his attention to Sam's Mother.

“So Martha, did you get a few early trick-or-treaters wanting more than their fair share?” Dad asked. Mrs. Parker rolled her eyes.

“Pretty much, but thankfully Katie, Lucy, and my daughter have proven quite efficient at restraining people,” Mrs. Parker answered, as she gave my dad the I-know-your-secret look. Dad looked over at me.

“It's out?” He asked me.

“It's out,” I answered.

So yeah, the night went on fairly normally from there. Although you can imagine Mr. Parker's reaction upon coming home from work to see everyone in his driveway. We all then told him what happened.

“I'm just glad no one was hurt,” He said. He then looked at the two goons in the car. “Except for them of course,” He added, and we all chuckled.

“I'm also glad to know that haven't gotten rusty with your exorcises,” Dad told me. This made me smile.

We were a little shaken up, but it wasn't nearly as bad as that first robbery. It was actually quite comical. Between the Robber's alleged stupidity, and the gun being unloaded, we were able to laugh about it. With that thrill over, we still had time before bed to help take our mind off things. We knew the perfect way to do it too: resuming Fatal Frame of course.

Part 3: In this part, Katie, Jeff, and Linda disguise themselves.

The next morning...

So yeah, following last night's hilarious events all five of us camped out in the living room with lots of blankets for warmth. I woke up to see Amy and Lauren playing Pokemon on their 3DSes. At least I amused it was pokemon. Sam and Lucy were both watching.

“Oh, hi Katie,” Sam said, as I sat up, and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.

“We didn't wake you, did we?” Lauren asked me.

“Nope,” I said. Mrs. Parker then entered the room.

“Alright Katie! It's-Oh! You're up,” She stated. My friends then giggled. “Anyways, I'm just letting you know that breakfast is almost ready,” Mrs. Parker then mentioned, and went back to the kitchen.

“Okay, let's go ahead, and save here,” Amy suggested. A minute or so later, they turned their games off, and went back upstairs to put them away.

I decided to head to the kitchen to see what Mrs. Parker had made for breakfast. I could hear the sound of a couple of guys having a good laugh. When I entered the kitchen, I noticed that my Dad had dropped by for a visit as well.

“Hey! Sleeping Beauty's finally awake,” He called, as soon as he saw me. I just gave him my groggy morning scowl which made him and Mr. Parker both laugh.

“So Mom, what's for breakfast?” Sam asked, as she and Lucy followed behind me.

“Food,” My Dad answered.

“I'd say that's a fairly accurate guess,” Mr. Parker added, with a nod.

“Jeff, are you sure you don't want any?” Mrs. Parker asked, as she began spooning out scrambled eggs onto several plates. Dad shook his head no.

“Nah, I'm good,” He said. Mrs. Parker nodded, and finished plating the food.

“So, any news on what The Trotters planned for tonight?” Mrs. Parker asked as we ate. We shook our heads no.

“She's been pretty tight lipped so far,” Lucy said.

“All she said it's a traditional Halloween party with a twist later on,” I said.

“Do you all have your costumes picked out?” Mr. Parker then asked.

“Yep,” We all said instantly. My costume was very simple. The only problem was that it may not be very practical given the usual temperature around this time of year. Never the less...it was iconic.

7:00 pm...

It was getting dark outside, and I was back at home playing a few online games with Sam and Lucy. By the time seven O'clock hit thought, it was time for me to call it quits. We all said our good-byes even though we'd be meeting back up again within the hour. I closed out the game, and the skype call. Now it was time for me to put my Halloween costume on.

I put on a turquoise tank top, and a pair of short mossy green cargo shorts. I then put on a pair of black, calf high combat boots. You can probably see where this is going now. With my boots on, I tied my hair back into a pony tail, and headed down stairs for my last two accessories.

I entered the living room to see Dad waiting for me. I have to say I was kinda stunned when I saw him. He was dressed in his navy field uniform with a tactical vest slung over his shoulder. (He wasn't going to wear it while driving.) Oh, and this wasn't costume material either. This was the real deal from when he was in the navy.

“Oh my,” I said, after starring for a second or two. Dad just smirked at me.

“I'm kinda surprised this stuff still fits,” He told me.

“It's times like this I wish you weren't my Dad,” I sighed. Dad blinked at me.

“I'm sorry?” He asked.

“If you weren't my Dad right now, I think I could, as the British say...fancy you,” I explained. Dad chuckled, which made me crack a smile.

“Well, I'm flattered...Lara,” He said, and we both laughed. He then picked up the remaining piece of my costume off the back of the couch, and handed it to me. It was a belt holding two Glock 40s,(unloaded.)

“I think I'll put this on after we get to the house,” I said. Dad nodded, and we walked to the truck.

* * * *

Linda's house looked all decked out for Halloween. Cobwebs were strung around a few posts. A couple Jack-O-Lanterns were positioned at either side of the door. This only made me wonder what the inside looked like. I could also tell by the small collection of cars parked within the property that several guests were already here.

Once Dad parked the truck I got out, and then put my belt on around my waist with the two pistols secured in their holsters at each hip. At the same time Dad donned his vest, (which looked very cool I might add.) With that, we walked up to the door, and I rang the door bell.

Much to my surprise, the door was not answered by Linda, or any member of the Trotter family. Instead I was greeted by an oriental lady who was about Linda's height with raven colored hair tied into a bun, and had gorgeous brown eyes.

She was dressed in a very decorative sapphire blue cheongsam dress with a high mandarin collar, and a flower and leaf pattern on it. The dress had short sleeves that almost reached her elbows, and a skirt that fell right to her knees.

“Ello?” She greeted us. I blinked for a minute. Even Dad looked a bit puzzled.

“Um, hi. Is Linda here?” I asked, with a bit of a weak tone in my voice. The girl smiled at me.

“You're looking at her,” Linda answered. My eyes grew wide. I didn't recognize her at all in that outfit.

“Oh my God!” I exclaimed.

“Holy cow Linda!” Dad added. Linda just laughed.

“You like it?” She asked, as she allowed us into the house.

“It's beautiful,” I said, as I examined every inch of it. It was obvious that she dyed her hair, but it was her eyes that had me stumped. “The only thing that puzzles me is how did you change your eye color?” I asked her, as her normal eye color is blue.

“Oh, It's just contacts,” Linda scoffed.

“Well Linda, I think you look gorgeous,” Dad complimented.

“Thank you both,” Linda said, with a smile. “Oh and Kate. What exactly happened with Sam, Lucy, and you last night?” She then asked. I snorted a bit.

“Lucy and Sam didn't tell you?” I asked.

“They gave me an overview, but no details,” Linda answered. I just grinned.

“I would be more then happy to tell you all about it,” I said, as we walked into the living room where an assortment of people were engaged in many conversations. Most of them were Mr. Trotters employees and co-workers, but I saw a few friends as well. Namely the Petersons. (They were dressed as policemen of course.)

The house itself was dimly lit to fit the spirit of the season, and had cobwebs, a few ghosts, and many other Halloween type decorations adorning the rooms. I then told Linda about the events of last night.

“So even once they stopped being brain-dead, they...” Linda started.

“...They were still brain-dead,” I finished, as I explained that they didn't even load the gun. Linda and I both were laughing.

“It was about as harmless as these,” I said, pointing at the two guns on my hips.

“Are those real?” Linda asked.

“Yes, but...” I said, and then pulled one out to show her that it didn't have a clip in it. “Now about you, where did you get that dress?” I asked, as I was still memorized by it.

“I got this about a year back or so from an online source,” Linda said.

“You know, I've always wanted a dress like that, but Dad said he wanted to wait until I was older,” I confessed. Linda sneered at me.

“Do I detect a hint of jealousy?” She asked. I then gave her a “tiny bit” gesture with my fingers.

Author's note: This is Linda's dress...

Part 4: In this part, It's Light's Out for one of the guests.

“So, where's your Mom and Dad?” I asked.

“Well, Dad's right over there,” Linda said, as she pointed him out. Linda's Father was dressed as Sherlock Holmes. His outfit was complete with a very well crafted pipe as well. He was talking to my Dad, and someone else who I'd never met before. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was dressed as a butler.

“Is that guy a Butler?” I asked Linda.

“That's what he was going for,” Linda answered. “He actually does a good English accent too,” She added. That's when we were approached by a woman how might have been a Medium or...something like that. She had on a loose robe, her hair was a mess, and she held a large crystal like ball in her hands.

“Beware my children, for the spirits in this house have been disturbed. They will be upon us very soon,” She told us. She was obviously acting in character. Linda blinked briefly.

Spirits being disturbed. That must mean that Mum's in the kitchen opening the champagne early,” Linda guessed, and we both giggled. The woman walked off, all the while pointing the ball at paintings, people, and I could only guess what else.

“That was weird,” I said flatly. Thankfully we were interrupted by the doorbell. Mr. Trotter walked over to the door, and opened it.

“Ah, Robert, I'm glad you could make it,” He said, as my Uncle walked inside. Uncle Robert was dressed as a Biker. I know. To me, this is just him being him, but it fit the mood of the party, so it worked. Add in his huge stature, and you can imagine he turned quite a few heads.

“Hey Ted?” My Uncle asked, as Mr. Trotter was walking back towards the kitchen.

“Yes?” Mr. Trotter answered back.

“You may want to camp by the door,” Uncle Robert suggested. “The Parkers and the Wolffs were right behind me. They should be pulling in any second.” Mr. Trotter shrugged, and walked back to the door. My Uncle then turned to me.

“Hi Uncle Robert,” I greeted. My Uncle blinked at me.

“I'm sorry Lara, but I am not your Uncle,” He stated. I just glared at him while Linda and he both laughed. “How you doin Kiddo?” He asked.

“I'm doing good,” I said.

“Who's your new friend?” He then asked, looking over at Linda. Evidently he didn't spot her either. Linda smartly clasped her hands behind her back, and smiled.

“I'm not as new as you might think I am,” She said.

“Whoa, you've outdone Linda,” Uncle Robert said, now catching on.

“Thanks,” Linda chirped back. Uncle Robert then walked off to go see my Dad. Sure enough, the doorbell rang again. This had to be either Sam or Lucy. Mr. Trotter opened the door to reveal Sam's family. So, onto the costumes...

Sam's Father was dressed as a Dwarf from Lord of the Rings, or something like that. It was fitting given how short he was. The fake beard he was wearing though was actually very well made.

Sam's Sisters, much like me, went with simple and iconic. They decided to go as the Twins from The Shining.

Mrs. Parker was dressed up as a witch with a dark robe, and a large pointy hat. Sam had in fact dyed her hair black to become Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7. We all then shared our greetings.

“Hey Martha, you forgot to paint your face green,” Uncle Robert called.

“Very funny Robert,” Mrs. Parker called back.

“Hi Katie,” Sam greeted, as she walked up to Linda and me. “Hi, lady-who-I'm-assuming-is-Linda.”

“Hello Sam,” Linda greeted back. We barely made it past the hellos when the doorbell rang again. Mr. Trotter was now allowing Lucy's family entry. Unfortunately, Darren couldn't make it due to the fact that he was having a party with some of his college classmates. (I hope I don't have to explain how those usually end.)

Mrs. Wolff was dressed as Black Widow from The Avengers. Lucy's Father was portraying the roll of George Washington. (Wrap your mind around that.) Then there was Lucy. Both of her parents parted to reveal her standing stoically behind them. Lucy was dressed as a Nightingale from Skyrim. We were stunned.

“Walk with the shadows,” She told us, in a soft tone of voice.

“Lucy, I am impressed,” I stated, almost completely flabbergasted.

“Lucy, how long did that take you to make?” Linda then asked.

“Between school, and spending time with you all, it took me about two months with Mom's help,” Lucy answered.

“I'd say it was worth it,” Sam said. We all just smiled, and exchanged some high fives. That was when Linda's Mother finally came out from the kitchen. She didn't have on a costume per-say. She was dressed in a long flowing ball gown with her hair done up rather similar to Linda's.

“So Linda, when's that-” I started, but the Psycho Woman from before was at it again, only this time she was much louder.

“The spirits are here!” She yelled, and everyone turned to look. “There will be no escape! THEY'VE COME!! THEY'RE HERE!!!” It was at this point that all the lights in the house went out leaving it completely dark. The woman then let out a blood curdling scream. I felt my blood run cold.

“Get these lights on!” Someone yelled. I'm not going to lie, I was quite startled at this point.

“What...the hell,” I heard Lucy say softly. Eventually the lights did come back on, and we were left with a frightening sight. The woman was face down on the floor with what looked to be blood on her back. The blood however didn't look too real thankfully, so now I knew this was part of a game, or something like that.

“Oh my god,” Sam said, clearly sounding shocked.

“Perhaps this is the surprise Linda mentioned," Lucy whispered to me. I looked over to Linda to see her reaction, only to see that she was nowhere to be found.

“Where is Linda?” I asked. My friends and I all looked around, but she wasn't here.

“She was standing right there before the lights went out,” Lucy stated.

“I know,” I said back. Mrs. Trotter knelt down over the woman. She then stood back up.

“It would seem that we have a murder mystery on our hands,” Mrs. Trotter stated in a hinting tone.

“Ah, so this is the surprise you mentioned,” One of the other guests stated, with a sly smile. Linda's mother nodded yes.

"So, who would like to participate?" She asked all of us.

Part 5: In this part, the rules are laid out, and the game begins.

“I'm in,” I chirped instantly. Pretty much everyone else said something similar as well.

“I'll be right back then,” Mrs. Trotter said, as she went back to the kitchen. She returned a second or two later with a few rolls of paper in her hands. Why she had them in the kitchen is anyone's guess. It was at this time the “dead” lady rolled over.

“Can I get up now?” She asked. Mrs. Trotter frowned at her.

“Of course you can, Margret,” Mrs. Trotter groaned, and we all kinda laughed a bit. Margret got up off the floor, and brushed herself off.

“Well, I hope I played my part well enough for you all,” She said, with a grin.

“I'm not going to lie. That kinda freaked me out a bit,” Dad said. Mrs. Trotter was now spreading out the rolls of paper on the coffee table in the middle of the living room to reveal two maps of the house: The first floor, and the second floor. “As you can all see,” Mrs. Trotter stated. “This is a map of the house, and these are all of the rooms down here,” She said, and showcased the fact that each location was listed at the bottom.

At this point, Mr. Trotter finally rejoined us. I starting to think that he was the one who had in fact killed the lights. He was also carrying a plastic bag with him.

“Ah, good timing Ted,” Mrs. Trotter said, and gave the floor to her Husband.

“Alright everyone. Here are the rules of the game,” He stated...

Okay, I don't remember all that was said during this time, so I'll just give you my version. Everyone was handed a small piece of paper to indicate our roll in the game. Mine had the word “Innocent” printed on it. As you can imagine, it was very likely that one, (or maybe more,) of these had the word “Killer”, or something like that, written on it as well.

Mr. Trotter then pulled out a note pad from the plastic bag along with a pencil. The game would be played in five minute rounds. For each round, we would all write down our names, and the room we were visiting on one of the pages for Mr. Trotter to carry for that round. Naturally, the rooms we visit would be kept secret from the other players.

In each room, we have a chance of finding a clue to the Killer's identity, or a trap, or some other secret, etc. (Mr. Trotter would be roaming around to help with that. That's why he needs to know where everyone is going.) Once the room has been searched, that player must return to the living room with whatever they find. The round, as I mentioned before ends after five minutes. Oh yeah, and it's one room per round.

If the Killer enters the same room as you, then you are killed, and any clues and whatnot you have found can no longer be used. The goal is for the players to find enough clues to declare a trial for someone who they believe is the killer. If that player is found guilty by the majority of the crowd, they are executed, and their role is revealed. If the executed player is innocent, then the accusing player “can no longer be trusted”, and cannot use any new clues.

The game ends once the killer is executed, or if the killer kills everyone. If two people are left at the end, and one of them is the killer, then the killer wins. Did you get all that? Okay, good. Back to the story.

“How will we know when five minutes is up?” Dad asked.

“Ah, very good question,” Mrs. Trotter answered. “The lights will black out again briefly when it's time to return to the living room,” Mrs. Trotter explained, to which Dad nodded.

"What happens if the Killer enters a room with more then one person?" Mrs. Wolff then asked.

"Then all of the other players in that room die," Mrs. Trotter answered.

"Ouch!" My Dad responded, and Mrs. Trotter nodded in agreement.

“Now then, I trust everyone has their rolls?” Mrs. Trotter then asked. We all said yes, or nodded accordingly. “And no asking people to turn out their pockets for their roles,” She added.

“Well, there goes my game plan,” Uncle Robert sighed, which earned him some snorts and chuckles here and there.

“By the way Mrs. Trotter, where's Linda at?” I then asked, now that I had an opening. Linda's Mother smirked at me.

“That is a very good question isn't it,” She responded, in a tone that told me it was part of the game, and that we were going to have to figure it out. “Alright then, everyone, I'm turning it over to Ted now,” Mrs. Trotter said.

“Thank you Debra,” He said, with a nod, and then turned to us. “So, I'll need you all to write your names, and your intended destination,” He requested.

Everyone took their turns in an orderly fashion. Once my turn came around, I wrote my name, along with “Playroom” on my piece of paper on the pad.

“Okay, I hope that's everyone,” Mr. Trotter said. “Your timer starts...now!”

Okay, so it wasn't a mad dash or anything like that. We had five minutes to search any one room, so we had plenty of time. Once I got to the playroom, I soon realized that I wasn't alone, as the guy portraying the Butler followed me into the room, along with Uncle Robert.

“I don't suppose you're the killer,” Uncle Robert inquired.

“What makes you say that?” The man asked.

“You're a Butler. The Butler always does it,” He said. The man just sighed while I laughed.

“I really can't think of an answer for that,” The man sighed weakly, and we laughed again. “I'm Fred by the way,” He then said.

“I'm Katie,” I stated, and shook his hand.

“I'm Robert,” Uncle Robert added, and shook his hand as well.

* * * *

“Anything yet?” Fred asked. We had searched the room for a while, but if there was something here, we weren't finding it.

“I'm drawing a blank on this one,” Uncle Robert said. I wasn't doing too well either. I didn't have a chance to give my answer before the lights went out, and a yell echoed through the house. When the lights came back on, the three of us rushed out of the room to see where it came from.

“Where was it?” Uncle Robert asked Mrs. Trotter, who was still in the living room. She was reading a book to pass the time.

“It was up stairs,” She said. Uncle Robert, Fred, and I went upstairs to see my Dad laying on the floor. He was the first one down. This was bad considering how good my Dad is at this sort of thing. Mr. Trotter was standing over him.

“Was he killed the same way as the Lady from before?” Sam asked him.

“Yes, he was stabbed, and I'm afraid he is dead now,” Mr. Trotter explained. Dad then decided to imitate a classic line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

“I'm not dead,” He insisted, in an Old Man's voice, and everyone laughed.

“Ugh, it always sucks to die on round one,” Dad said, as he got up off the floor. My eyes then narrowed.

“So the killer takes out my Dad first. This is personal now,” I snarled, which made a few people chuckle.

We all met up in the living room again where Mrs. Trotter was eagerly awaiting the results of the first round. Other then Dad dying of course.

“So, what did you all find?” She asked.

“Well, we may have a motive,” Sam's Mother stated. "Lucy, Dale, and I found this," She explained. She then pulled out a piece of paper that looked to be torn in half. It had this scrolled on it...

Rufus,

He refuses to sell the company. I have made the best offer I can, but it seems that this is not enough. I will have to take matters into my own hands. The best time for you to do this is on Halloween. With everyone wearing costumes, it will be impossible for them to recognize you...

The letter ends there...(By the way, a Tie Up is coming.)

Part 6: In this part Katie finds Linda...but at a price.

“Well, it would seem that the obvious question now is: Who's Rufus?” Mr. Wolff mentioned. We all kinda nodded our agreement. It would seem at this time that this was the name of the killer. We just needed to know who he, (or she,) was.

“Alright then,” Uncle Robert mumbled. “Anyone here named Rufus!” He then bellowed. Everyone shook their heads no of course. “Thought it was worth a try,” Uncle Robert moaned somewhat. That's when I thought of something else that might help.

“Did anyone witness who went into the same room as my Dad?” I asked the crowd.

“Oh, good catch Katie,” Lucy stated. Unfortunately, this was answered with a whole lot head shaking as well. “Nuts,” I grumbled.

“That was a good question though,” Mrs. Trotter said. “Now then, anyone going to host a trial?” She then asked.

“I don't think we have enough to work with yet,” Mrs. Parker sighed.

“Alright then, let's begin round two,” She said.

I decided to head to the guestroom at the end of the hall this time. This time I also kept an eye on who was going into what room as I passed them by. I could very quickly rat out the killer if he's the sole survivor in a room. Come to think of it, I also thought about mentioning that to Mrs. Trotter as a possible flaw in the game's formula. Never-the-less, I headed to the guest room.

“Oh, I see you're here as well,” Sam said, as she walked inside. It was at this time we both got a visit from our friendly Game Master, Mr. Trotter.

“Alright you two, I'll need you to do a round of rock/paper/scissors with me,” He said.

“What's it for?” Sam asked.

“You'll know if you win,” Mr. Trotter stated, which seemed fair enough to me. Sam went first. They both played out a few draws before Mr. Trotter's paper beat her rock.

“Oh, dammit,” Sam groaned. Mr. Trotter then moved to me. We did one draw before my scissors but his paper.

“Ah ha, very good,” Mr. Trotter complimented, which earned him a smile from me. “First of all Sam, I can now inform you that this room is empty, so I need you to head back to the living room now,” He then told Sam.

“Oh, okay,” Sam said, with a shrug, and left the room. Mr. Trotter then turned to me.

“Kaitlin, you notice that this dresser is blocking a hidden passageway,” He said, rather proudly. I looked over at the dresser.

“Is their really?” I asked. Mr. Trotter snorted.

“No, not really, It's just for the game,” He said, and we both chuckled. “When you open the door, you see some stairs that lead presumably to a basement,” He then explained.

“Oh, okay, cool,” I said. “I'm guessing we now take the real route to the basement?”

“Correct,” Mr. Trotter said, and we both left the room.

The real passageway to the basement was actually close by. All we had to do was turn right, and open the door at the end of the hallway. I couldn't help but notice that it was very dark with the exception of some dim lights near the bottom.

“Mind your step,” Mr. Trotter warned, as we made our way down towards the only source of light that I could see.

The Trotter's basement was also decorated for the game. A couple of tables were turned over to simulate torture racks, or something like that. A couple others had red splotches on them to simulate blood. the room was dimly lit by a few electric candles. I understood why almost instantly.

In the middle of the floor were a few chairs, and Linda was sitting in one of them. Her hands were tied behind her back, and she was gagged with a blue bandana. She was sitting in front of what looked like a crossbow with the bolt aimed right at her. There was another crossbow aimed at another other chair. Naturally they were both unloaded. (Gee, I wonder what was about to happen next?)

“Kttee, bbhhnd yhh!” Linda yelled through her gag. I looked behind me to see nothing. I was a bit puzzled. Fortunately Mr. Trotter was there to help me out.

“Alright now Kaitlin, let me elaborate for you,” He said. “The killer has caught you snooping around, and has knocked you out,” He then explained. “I need you to sit in this chair.”

“I thought you'd never ask,” I said, which made Linda giggle. “This is my first time being tied to a chair,” I then mentioned, as I sat down in the chair.

“Oh, really?” Mr. Trotter then asked, as Linda giggled a bit more. Once I had taken my seat, Linda's Father pulled a small length of rope from his pocket, and used it to tie my hands behind my back. It wasn't really that great, but it got the point across, so that's what counted. He used the remainder of it to secure the tie to the back of the chair.

“So what do we do now?” I asked.

“Ah, I'm glad you asked,” Mr. Trotter said, as he pulled out another bandana from another pocket. “The other players have two rounds to find you, and save you,” He stated, he then pointed at the crossbows. “If no one finds you within that time, then you are both declared dead. Now, if they do find you, then Linda will reveal a big clue for you,” Linda's Father then explained.

“Ah, gotcha,” I said, as Mr. Trotter held the center of the bandana to my lips. I opened my mouth, and allowed him to push the bandana inside. I then bit down, as Mr. Trotter knotted the gag off behind my head. With my bindings complete, he then looked at his watch.

“Oh shoot, it's almost five minutes!” He snapped.

“Yhh bbttrr ggt pp thhrr,” Linda snapped back. Mr. Trotter raced up the stairs, and back into the house. He then closed the door behind him. Within a few seconds, Linda and I heard a lot of screams this time. We both looked at each other kinda worried. That was the sound of a bloodbath taking place.

“Thht wwsnt ggdd,” She said to me.

“Thht ssnnddhd llkk h bblld bbth,” I said back, and she nodded to me.

* * * *

So, with that glorious round done, Linda and I were both kinda stuck here for possibly two more rounds. Naturally my disappearance would raise some questions for everyone. (Assuming anyone was left after that last round.)

“Ss, hhvv yyh bbnn ttdd pp thsh whhll ttmm?” I asked her. I was just trying to pass the time now. Linda looked back over at me.

“Hmm?” She asked.

“Hhvv yyh bbnn ttdd pp thsh whhll ttmm?” I asked again. Much like Sam, Linda seemed good at understanding gag-talk.

“Yyp,” She chirped, with a twinkle in her eye. I just shrugged.

“Wwll, you llkk rrlly pprrty bbnnd n ghggdd nn thtt oufftt,” I complimented. I saw Linda's mouth form a smile.

“Oh, thnnkkyhh,” She chimed.

“Ss, dd yyh thnnk thhll ffnd ush?” I then asked. Linda smirked at me.

“Yhh fnndd mh, dhdnt you?” she asked back.

“Alrrtt, stppdd qussshnn,” I admitted. I didn't know what else to talk about, and there wasn't much either of us could do until we were saved, or until we were classified as dead, at which point Mr. Trotter would likely come back down to release us.

* * * *

Thankfully, we only had to endure one round of sitting here bound and gagged. We heard the door open, and saw Mr. Trotter leading someone inside. It was Uncle Robert and Mrs. Wolff. (Okay, two someones.) I won't lie, I was kinda curious on how she would take this.

“Oh good lord,” Uncle Robert sighed, once he saw us, and he started laughing.

“What in the world?” Mrs. Wolff asked. She looked kinda shocked, but also kinda amused at what she was seeing.

Re: Sailor's Daughter: Murder Mystery (Part 7 posted.)

Part 7: In this part, the killer is revealed.

“Did you two allow this to happen to you?” Mrs. Wolff asked Linda and me. We both giggled, and nodded yes. The poor woman just shook her head. Uncle Robert was still laughing, but he also had the presence of mind to walk over and untie us.

“How did you find us?” I asked, once my gag had been removed.

“Well, I remembered what you said about seeing people entering certain rooms, and it just so happened that I saw you enter that particular guestroom,” Uncle Robert explained, and he wasn't done there. “So when the round was over, you were nowhere to be seen, and you also weren't declared dead, so I knew something else must have happened.”

“That reminds me, how many people did we loose in that round?” I asked, remembering the “bloodbath” as it were.

“We lost Lucy, Albert, Martha, Amanda, (Amanda is Officer Peterson's Wife,) and Mr. Trotter's Company Vice President,” Lucy's Mother answered. Holy cow. Five people down in one round. That's really bad.

"Anyways,” Uncle Robert continued, now that that had been cleared up. “I entered the room, and Louise here decided to join me, along with Ted. I put Ted in a headlock, and he coughed up your location,” Uncle Robert then finished. Somehow I had a feeling that last part wasn't true.

“Well, you're half right,” Mr. Trotter sighed, at my Uncle's very terrible lie.

“He didn't put him in a headlock,” Mrs. Wolff stated, and then scowled at my uncle.

“I already figured that,” I said. With Linda and me untied, it was time for us to head back to the living room. “By the way Linda. What's that big clue you have for us?” I asked, as we went up the stairs back into the house.

“A big clue?” My Uncle then asked.

“I'll reveal that once we get to the living room,” Linda declared. I just shrugged. It seemed fair to me.

* * * *

Another black out, and another scream later, we were all back in the living room. The unfortunate victim this time was...I think it was Lauren. I always get those two mixed up. Suffice to say, her sisters were very distraught over her “death”.

“The killer will pay for this,” Sam growled, as she stood up from her “fallen” sister.

“Hey, how do you think I feel?” I asked her.

“Oh, Katie, nice to see you're still around,” She said. “And I see you found Linda too.”

“Yeah, that was an interesting, and...fun story,” I said weakly. On our way back to the living room I told her all about it as well.

“I guess it's good that your uncle showed up when he did,” Sam said.

“Well, we still had another round, but yeah,” I responded. “Anyways, I believe Linda here has a clue for us,” I then said aloud.

“Yes I do,” Linda spoke. “Has anyone heard of a person named Rufus?” She then asked.

“Yeah, before my Mom was removed from play, she found a note with that name on it. It looked like someone was trying to buy Mr. Trotter's Company, but he was rejected, and he sent someone named Rufus to deal with it,” Sam explained.

“I know who Rufus is,” Linda declared. Oh yeah, that was a big clue alright. Everyone was looking around at everyone else. We were all anticipating the big reveal. Linda then pointed her finger at Mr. Parker. “Hello Rufus,” She then greeted.

“You killed my Dad, your own daughter, and your wife?” I asked Sam's Father. He looked a bit stumped.

“And to think I loved you all this time, but no, you had to get greedy,” Sam snarled, although she couldn't keep a straight face, and started laughing after she said it. We all kinda got a chuckle out of it as well.

“All you have is that note, and a name,” Mr. Parker insisted. “It doesn't prove that I killed anyone.”

“I hate to say this, but he has a point there,” I mentioned.

“Does anyone want to host a trial?” Mrs. Trotter then asked. I could see that quite a few people were itching for one, but what we had wasn't fully concrete.

“I'm willing to go one more round,” I said. Everyone else kinda grudgingly agreed. We all then selected our rooms, and headed for them.

I decided to head up another family type room. It had a fire place, and a window looking out into the front yard, and the street. I wasn't alone either.

“Oh boy. Hello Katie,” A voice from behind me said. I turned slowly to see Mr. Parker had in fact joined me in this room.

“It's you isn't it,” I sighed. Much to my displeasure, Mr. Parker nodded yes. I too nodded with him. (And you all thought I was going to be the hero, didn't you.)

“If it makes you feel any better, I'm likely to lose here pretty soon anyway,” He said. I smiled at him.

“Nah, it's fine,” I said.

“I wish you could have been there for your Dad's reaction on that first round,” Mr. Parker told me, as we both sat down on the vacant couch.

“What did he say?” I asked.

“He told me: Seriously? You're very lucky this isn't real life Shorty,” He answered, and we were both laughing.

A few minutes later...

“I take it you gave her the bad news?” Mr. Trotter asked, as he entered the room. I nodded yes. “Okay, cause I'm hitting the lights now,” He then told me.

“GG I guess,” I said.

“It was fun,” Mr. Parker said back. He then got up off the couch, and left the room. The lights went out, and it was now my turn to scream. I then laid on my back with one leg up on the seat of the couch, and my eyes closed. It wasn't long before everyone rushed into the room to see me laying there.

“Ah dammit,” I heard Sam say.

“Tis a flesh wound,” I then said. Yes, I made my own Monty Python quote which got a laugh from everyone.

“It's game over anyway,” Uncle Robert said. “I have the final piece to the puzzle.”

We all went back into the living room where my Uncle would reveal what he had found.

“So Mr. Narrows, what did you find?” Sam asked.

“This,” My Uncle said, and pulled out what looked like a sheath for a knife, or a dagger. “It also has a note inside that said it had traces of red hair on it. It can't be Lucy, because she's dead. It could be Louise too, but I think we already know who it is,” My Uncle stated, and looked over at Mr. Parker. The beard he was wearing was a reddish color.

“Are you hosting a trail?” Mrs. Trotter then asked.

“Yep, I'm hosting a trial against Mr. Parker,” Uncle Robert declared.

“All in favor of execution?” Mrs. Trotter asked. Everyone still “alive” raised their hands. “Alright then. What is your role Samuel?” She then asked him. Sam's Father pulled out his piece of paper, and sure enough, it had the word, Killer, printed on it. We had won the game. Uncle Robert then looked over to Officer Peterson.

“Dale, would you mind arresting this man for murder?” He requested. Officer Peterson snorted.

“Sorry Robert, I left the cuffs at home,” He said, with a shrug, and we all laughed.

Overall, it was a fun game. I knew I'd have to pitch a few ideas on how to improve it, as I did notice a few flaws with it. But I'm not going to knock it too much. We all had a great time. For me however, the wasn't quite over...

Part 8: In conclussion, Katie decides to make a bit of fun at her Dad's expense.

Once the game was over. Mrs. Trotter got out some Halloween treats for everyone. These included Popcorn Balls, Apples, Candy Corn, and many other things.

“So how long did it take your family to throw this whole thing together?” I asked Linda, as I took a bite out of an apple.

“My family's been doing this since before I was born. It's a Halloween tradition,” Linda told me. That was kinda neat to learn. “We've had to tweak it here and there over the years though.”

“Yeah, I did notice one big problem for anyone being the killer,” I mentioned, now that the subject had been brought up.

“What's that?” Linda asked.

“If anyone sees the killer go into a room, and he's the survivor, then his cover's blown,” I explained.

“That's a good point. I'll bring that up to Mum later,” Linda said.

Halloween was definitely for fun this year then it was last year. I looked around me at everyone having their own conversations and such. That's when something caught my eye. One of the plastic spiders had fallen off of it's web. I then walked over to pick it up. That's when I got an idea. An awful idea.

“Linda, do you mind if I borrow this?” I asked, and showed her the black spider.

“What for?” She asked.

“Dad's terrified of spiders. I was going to put this in his bed when we get home,” I explained, with a giggle. Linda's eyes narrowed.

“You're evil,” She said, and then grinned. “Do it,” She added, which made me grin.

* * * *

Like all fun things in life, the party had to come to an end at some point. I had the spider safely tucked away in my pocket. Once we got home, I pulled the spider out of my pocket, and hid it under my pillow. I didn't want Dad to see it yet, if he decided to come see me. I then changed into my pajamas, grabbed the spider, and crept over to my Dad's bedroom.

I opened the door, and I heard what sounded like him brushing his teeth in his bathroom. Thankfully he had the bathroom door closed. I stalked over to his bed, and set the spider on the bed, and covered it with the blankets. Boy was he in for a surprise. I was trying so hard not to laugh, as I sneaked back out of the room again. I then waited in the hall for it to happen. I waited...and waited....

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!”

That yell was followed by a lot of bad language. I instantly burst out laughing. I opened the door to his room to see him up against the wall breathing very heavily.

“Katie!?” He yelled at me. This only made me laugh harder. “Katie, I did not find that funny!” He then roared.

“Oh, come on. It was a harmless prank,” I moaned. I could tell by the look on his face however, that maybe I had gone a bit too far. “I'm sorry,” I said, in a shameful tone. Dad was taking his time with a response, since he needed to calm down from the shock.

“Katie, you know I hate spiders,” He insisted. I nodded my head in shame.

“I know,” I moaned, but then grinned. “But your reaction was great.”

“I'm sure it was,” Dad snarled. He then looked me dead in the eye. “There will be retribution for this,” He profoundly stated. I knew he was serious too. I just smiled.

“I'm sure I'll deserve it,” I said. Dad then motioned me over. I helped pull him back to his feet, and he gave me a hug.

“It's nice to see that your uncle has been a rotten influence on you,” He said, which made me laugh.

I actually remember playing a game similar to that a few years back, and it had the same issues with people seeing others enter rooms. Regardless, very well written, as always.

Yeah, I kinda just threw it together, and hoped it would work. Thankfully it did to some extent. It was only after I had written a few parts that I had noticed the flaw in it, but instead of scrapping it, and trying again, I decided to incorporate it into the story for the characters to reference. I thought of a way to fix it a little bit ago. Also, I based this game off of another game called Town of Salem. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the tale. I'm currently working on the next one.

Yes, I too played a lot of Town of Salem for a bit. I guess it's much easier to simulate murdering people in an online game as opposed to real life. Still, it was certainly an entertaining idea.
