As a Canadian, let me assure you that the Canadian media cares just as much as the American media. CBC, Global, CTV... All the big Canadian networks are covering the royal wedding like its the second coming of Christ. It's just as annoying for us as it is for everybody.
On the other hand, perhaps it isn't such a bad thing that so many people all over the world are unified in an event like this. The royal wedding is going to be watched by millions of people all over the world. Maybe its good that for one day, so many different people from different places and different cultures all over the world will be watching the same thing on TV... Could be good for world peace... or something like that... I don't know where I'm going with this!
There's a permanent tension in music isn't there? On one hand you have three chords, you know, four four and three chords. Then there's the people like me, who say "Well, why don't we add a fourth chord and put it in five four?" - Bill Bruford
