There are a few with real tie up scenes in them...but basically I agree with you.

Always fun to see that magical peace of thin cloth, which- when tied betweeen the teeth of someone- magically prevent them to make any sound.

Whoa run on sentences for the loss!

I agree, though, as well as for television shows! The one exception is 24 in my opinion. As far as I remember, when someone was tied up in that show, they were TIED UP! :D

You can type and leave messages on here from an Ipod? I learned something new tonight.

A lot of Hollywood actors and actresses are pampered and probably would refuse to be tied up too tightly. To give one example, I knew a guy who was an extra in a movie with some actress who I can't quite remember and the scene involved a swimming pool. She had to have the temperature just right before she would even set foot in the pool, and it was some insane temperature, I think ninety-something degrees. It took over an hour just to get the water temperature right for her. I'm sure not every actor or actress is like this, but a lot probably are, and if they're this picky over water temperature, I can't believe they'd be any better about being bound and gagged.

Yes, 24 usually has at least one good scene every season, and they usually look pretty real. That's the best show on TV with or without the bondage, but it always helps, of course.

Not that it really matters if it is fake or not on the television. The fact is that is it fake even if they really are tied up. How often is someone tied up for recreation on television shows anyway? You might get that in a movie every so often, but not television unless it's one of those special episodes of CSI.

Yep. When Elisha Cuthbert was taped up, I believed she was. Her struggling was superb, and so sexy.

The most annoying thing is when someone has their hands tied in front of them, and could easily remove the gag from their mouth, but somehow never does.

For the children actors, it is highly probably that they are never tied with real knots, even if they asked playfully to. The ropes or the handcuffs must be loose so they can slip off it as easily as they want.
It is also possible that they often just hid their hands behind their backs without anything around.

I wonder if it is because they are afraid of the danger of tying them up to restricting. You know, blood circulation, rope marks, and whatever. and gags, they have to be minimal if anything happened so they could get it off quickly.

Personally, they should practice those scenes until they can be tied up and gagged properly before filming haha.

Most things are not portrayed properly in mainstream movies and/or television. This is not limited to tie up scenes.
Example: How many people really beleive that a car explodes in a huge ball of fire when it burns?
Most "facts" from movies don't stand a reality check...

Hmmm, interesting that you should mention "The Ref". I've seen that movie a few times too, and have it on VHS tape. The young actor who played that role was Robert J. Steinmiller Jr., who was in another movie in which he was bound and gagged in a few scenes, called "Bingo." That was when he was about 12 years old, so it was a few years before "The Ref." It's a typical "kids" movie, but still, fun to watch anyway, what with those scenes in it. But, it was from my rather idle curiosity about what had ever happened to Robert's acting career, that eventually led me to this site. Back around 2002, I was wondering whatever happened to him, and I did a search on his name. The search brought the usual stuff from the Internet Movie Database, of course, and one site that I landed on was something called "Bandannagag." Some time later, Bandannagag led into, quite by accident, Boundit, which most folks on here know about. But, back in 2004, while looking at the user forum on Boundit, there was a thread about the kid in the movie "Benji" being cleave-gagged by his kidnapper in that movie. I had never seen or read that term before. Even though I kind of knew what it meant, I did a search on that phrase anyway to see if my assumptions were correct, and amongst the search results, I came upon the Website by the great Doug R., and his stories. And, I think there was some kind of link from his Website to the original Canuck Website. So, one thing led to another, as the saying goes. But, if I had never, out of curiosity, wondered about the acting career of Robert Steinmiller, whatever happened to him after The Ref, I probably never would have come upon Canuck's site, or this one. Destiny, I suppose......
