“I know! Let’s get on our bikes, and find a nice spot to have a picnic. I know just the spot,†one of my friends said yesterday.
“Sure, why not. It’s not like we’ve got tons of things to do, anyway.†I said, mildly interested.
We got some things packed in a bag and hopped on our bikes. After having ridden our bikes through the woods for a while, we got to a secluded clearing, where we stopped, took off our bike-helmets and unpacked. We ate, drank and enjoyed the sunshine. All of a sudden she said:â€If you look in the bag, there is some stuff left. Be a good boy and bring it over here, will you.†I went over and looked in the bag, and found a tangle of rope. I held it up and asked:†What are these for?â€
“What do you think there for, silly? It’s for tying you up, of course! Bring it here and sit down with your back to me! There’s a good boy!†Bewildered, I did as she said. She brought my hands together behind my back, and started winding the one of the ropes around my wrists. After a couple of turns, she tied it off in the middle. Then she made me shuffle around, facing her. She took another piece of rope and tied my feet together, once again tying it off in the middle. Confident in having done a good job, she even challenged me and said:â€How about, if you get out of that, I’ll let you tie me up? I’ll even give you as much as 15 minutes to get your hands free. What do you say? Do we have a deal?†Not being the one to turn down a bet, I agreed, and got to work.
15 minutes later, I had to give up, though. I hadn’t been able to loosen the knot, even the slightest bit, however hard I tried. She untied my hands only to tie them in front of me. We continued enjoying the sun for a little while longer before she said:â€I’ve had enough of this! Let’s go home!†She untied my feet, and with her help, I got up and we walked over to our bikes. I had to lead my bike through the woods, with my hands tied, but as soon as we got on level ground and could start cycling safely again, she untied them and we went home.
