My personal favorite is probably a handgag. You can have complete control over the person and their mouth, and have a free hand to do whatever else you want.

As far as material gags go, definitely a tape gag.

Ballgag, bitgag, or ring gag are usually my favorites. However, my fiancee doesn't seem to go for gagging, so I am at a loss.

To actually keep my lady quiet, duct tape and a fuzzy sock are, as others have pointed out, my favorite effective gag.

However, usually a big over the mouth gag of cloth and or tape are what i find cutest.

Mine is a wool sock in the mouth cleave gagged with its mate, or held in my mouth by a long winter scarf!

My favorite has always been a rag in the mouth with duct tape wrapped around the head multiple times.

There's something about handgags which I love, especially when my hands are already tied up and I'd be easy to gag otherwise.

I just love the feeling of someone's palm clamping over my mouth to keep me quiet while the other hand does whatever it wants ;)

And there's something really personal about it, since usually when being handgagged (at least for me) the other person has a tendency to hold you really close and tight.

It's also the best "OTM" gag out there. One size fits all and creates an air-tight seal. Anybody being properly handgagged will never be able to get out a peep (and if you disagree then I'd love to prove you wrong ;) )

^what happens when they want to use both of their hands on you/ what if your lady is a biter? Handgags are nice and personal, but not very convenient.

Meh they can bite away. I can take it ;)

And if they want to use both hands then w00t. I don't need to be gagged. I'll be having a good time regardless.

But one hand is enough for a loooooooot of things.....

my favourite type of gag is a cleave gag with a silk scarf, mostly because it doesn't hurt and can be left in for hour. However the most effective gag i've used and has been used on me is:
a sock in the mouth, followed by a tight cleave gag, and finnished off by wrapping a thick scarf round the mouth a couple of times.
Making use of three gags at once works wonders.
Bound, gagged and blindfolded, all with silk scarves

Duct tape over the mouth with a cloth stuffed in the mouth. Just be careful you don't choke, as it's a possibility here.

Man I am on a roll with the posts tonight.

What about medical tape ? Can I wrap it around the head ? Is it better that duct tape ? How can I remove it without damaging the hair ?

Silk scarves are my fave too Katie, they're soft and comfortable and much more easy to carry in your pocket as a kidnapper. Carrying a scarf and a pair of gloves is nice and innocent.

Same, though to keep the tape from ripping out hair I prefer using a ponytal and being careful or massive taping over an OTM (preferably a few strips of tape under it to hold the lips better)

One way is to put plastic wrap between the duct tape and the hair. It doesn't need to stick in back; wrapping it around the head is just to make it harder to work the tape off the mouth. Even with mouth stuffing, I can usually be out of strips over the mouth and able to speak in a minute or two. There is an extra-sticky brand called "Gorilla Tape" that I tried with multiple strips (including diagonals) over a cloth mouth stuffing that was as big as I could possibly manage. It held the stuffing in after five minutes of trying to work it off. Within the first half minute, however, the air seal around the mouth was completely gone, meaning I could make as much unintelligible noise as I could with an ordinary cloth gag.

The plastic wrap also makes it easy to cut the tape in back (preferably with a bandage scissors or other scissors with blunt ends) in the event of emergency. You should have a cutting implement handy. With the mouth completely sealed by tape, if the nose plugs up for any reason, you have a problem. Therefore someone who is tied and tape-gagged with a full snug wrap around the head should NEVER be left alone for more than a few moments.

Another way to do it is to put strips of duct tape over the mouth, touching only skin. Then wrap a less sticky tape around the head such as the clear parcel sealing tape you get at office supply stores. Even if you only use it on skin, duct tape leaves a sticky residue. You could actually use the clear parcel tape over something stuffed in the mouth. I've also found a plastic tape that's between parcel tape and duct tape in stickiness without the residue problem. It can be wrapped around the head without feeling as if you're pulling your hair out when you take it off, yet it sticks pretty well over the mouth.
