Intro -

This fictional story was one that was came to my mind recently.
I'm sure it's a similar situation for many stories on here, but I wanted to do my own spin on it.

Basically, a thief breaks into a home with the intent of looting the place.
He is unaware that a young girl and her friends are at home.
And he is also unaware that the girls are more capable than they look.

Part 2 -

Lily was content.

She had been planning this sleepover for weeks.
Her best friends, shy Sara and feisty Frances, were round.
Her family were all out, leaving the girls alone.
The bed was piled with snacks and makeup supplies and films.
Everything the girls needed for a fun night was present.

Everything except boys, which Lily wouldn't have minded.
But you can't have everything you want, as Lily told herself.
So she settled down for a night of fun with her friends.

They began by changing into their bedclothes.
It was a hot night, and the girls wanted to be cool, so they wore little.
Lily wore just her underwear, panties and a bra.
Sara was more conservative, and wore a nightgown with socks.
Finally, Frances wore a shirt over her underwear.

Once they were comfortable, they began to gossip.
They were just in the middle of a fantastic story about the hottest boy in their class, when there was a loud crash downstairs.
The three girls froze.

Part 3 -

Michael couldn't believe his sheer, dumb luck.
He hadn't even been planning to rob any houses that night.
But as he passed the massive house on his way home from work, he noticed two adults leaving the house and getting into a car.
Regardless of where they were going, if they were driving they would have to be gone for at least twenty minutes.

Plenty of time, for what he needed to do.

He had noticed a light on in the upstairs of the house and had panicked slightly.
But he remembered that he knew of this family - he passed them on his way to work every day, after all - and they had a young daughter, not even in her teens.
Michael smiled.
If she was the only one home, he would be able to easily intimidate her into keeping silent.

It was like stealing from a baby.
Almost literally, in fact.

So he hadn't been very subtle in making his entrance.
He had simply smashed the window on the lower floor and climbed in.
The fools had disabled their alarm system!
It got better and better.

Part 4 -

The three girls looked at each other, terrified.
"Someone's in the house," Frances whispered.
"What do we do?" Sara whimpered, on the verge of tears.
Part of Lily wanted to hide.
Part of her wanted to run.
But she knew what she had to do.

"We fight," she said determinedly. "There are three of us. We all know how to fight. Let's lay a trap for them."

Her friends stared at her.
"We don't know how many there are!" Sara hissed.
"You really think we can fight?" Frances said with disbelief.

Lily hushed them.
"We can do it, guys, I know we can! Look, I'll go and have a look. I'll see who's here."

And before her friends could stop her, Lily crawled out of the room.
