Serious question

Postby Stef » Tue Aug 05, 2014 2:27 am

I have a serious question.. Does anyone of you know if fetishes, sexual desires etc. run in your blood?

And by that i mean, is it more than possible that someone else in your family have the same?

Do you "inherit" it from someone or you just happen to like it?

I think it can be genetic. I have a half sister and we grew up seperately but she's also into TUGs. I'm not sure if she sees it on te sexual level like I do though.

My sister likes it too, not sure to the extent that I do. And my brother enjoyed tying us up, but I think that may have been as much just enjoying tormenting his sisters than any love of tie up games. But I would say it's just a personal preference, it just doesn't seem like something that would be passed genetically. Maybe if someone had experiences with their parents or family members that they enjoyed they would feel that way, but I don't think it would actually be inborn. Just my 2 cents on it!

We know surprisingly little about all the genes and DNA in our bodies, even after mapped the genome. As such, who can really know yet? They want to say 85% of our DNA is "junk". I submit we need a lot more research into genetics before declaring that, much less a tendency toward life choices and conduct. It seems likely that there's some genetic component to preferences and likes, just like there are trends toward intelligence, autism, weight, cancer, and so on. Let's see where it leads, our knowledge. I'm interested in knowing...
Is it any different to be tied up vs being tied down? One of the great things about English, its flexibility :p

Hallo, would say have a fetish could have genetic component, I know for family it only differ for what. On other side I not know if I like if thy find out witch gene/s real responsible for it, because then can some try to find a therapy to cure it or declare as a case where induced abortion is permitted.

For me, I don't think my parents are into this sort of thing at all. In fact, I have no idea how I got into tugs in the first place. When I found this site, I was honestly still wondering if I was the only one in the world who enjoyed this kind of thing, especially as a teen. Needless to say, that question has been answered :) But no, I don't think tugging runs through my blood.

I know my sister read all of the 50 shades of grey series. I don't know what that means, if anything. I haven't spoken to her about it.

My brother was into it; he tied me up all the time. Come to find long after he'd died that my father had been into it too. Some cousins from my father's side of the family (not the ones I've often written about, who were on my mom's side of the family) also turned out to be into it though inexperienced compared to myself at their age. So I'd say definitely yes. Those who say they have no relatives into it may simply not know as much about their relatives as they think; after all, it's not often brought up in conversation and most people would likely deny it if asked casually. As I said, my dad had been into it and I didn't know that until I was in my 40s; I was blown away when I found that out as I'd never suspected.
As for the cousins I *have* written so much about turns out their dad had been into it too; and he'd been a cop! Which leads me to think it's also a lot more common than people think!

The less I know about my family's fetishes, the better.

Good point.
I always felt the reverse too; the less they (or at least my folks) knew of mine, the better. :big:

Well, the newest surveys on fetishism are causing the serious consideration of formerly removing a list of them as mental disorders. When something is more prevalent than absent, this is normally the case. I believe that judgmental views of what most people practice secretly has receded recently, and that we are simply getting more accurate reporting in personal habits.

Simply put, so many people engage in these thoughts and behaviors that it may be part of average human behavior that has just been suppressed by religious authority.

Yes, I would agree with this one too.

technically no but it can be easily passed down through generations

No, it's all a product of your environment and what you're exposed to that your brain reacts to. Good example, me: Nobody else in my family had any interest in bondage or TUGs, I happened to walk into the family room when my older sister was watching a gangster movie and saw a woman with her hands tied overhead to a headboard, her mouth gagged with adhesive tape, mewing and trying to plead with the 3 men looking down at her. When I started to develop an interest in girls, I would imagine them tied up and gagged. When I realized I was too shy to talk to girls, let alone too embarrassed to admit to the idea of wanting to tie them up, my brain came up with the idea all on it's own that I should be the girl and tie myself up. Later on that led to meeting others and playing TUGs.

It's all a question of how you experienced the idea in the first place. I once met a girl later on who had never been tied up before, after experiencing it from me she fell in love with being tied up and gagged.

So, no, you can't inherit that.

Well, I don't think anyone said if one person in a family is into TUGs then all of them have to be into it, or even any of them.
I think it's more correct to say that it happens that way more often than not; just not ALL the time.
Starting with the cousins I lived with for a year, I knew many kids who were into TUGs when i was a teenager, and in every case (but one involving an older sister) where they had siblings, the siblings were into it too. Of course, like me they might have literally been roped into it! :big:

Well, for example me and my brother both have a foot fetish..! And we both like tugs.. I'm quite passionate abut it, while he "just like" such stuff. But still, it can't just be a coincidence..!

Also, my father isn't into that stuff, neither bondage nor foot fetish and i only know this because i accidentally discovered his porn folder one time..

It isn't crazy to believe that some people have the same ideas derived from separate experiences. Look at building techniques and written languages, created in separate sides of the world to similar effect.

I have 2 younger cousins who are 18 and 15 as of yesterday, both of those girls love spending weekends and time during the summer at the family cabin, nothing sexual; but they love for me to tie them up hoping one day they can escape my ties.So i would lean towards it being inherited.
