Dogs or Cats?

You rather own a dog or cat and why?
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

You don't own a cat. The cat lives with, and tolerates you.

The upside, is that a cat is a "low maintenance" pet, particularly if it is an "outside" cat.

Having a dog is essentially like having a child, except that child can't and will never be able to: talk, or do anything relevant/useful, or make any kind of meaningful contribution. But it still costs money, and requires attention and exercise on a daily basis. Oh and uses your floors as a toilet...and eats your stuff. Man's best friend indeed

Cats? They just chill, eat, go do *something* for like 8 hours, keep to themselves. No problem. Though they probably do also piss on your floor and wreck your stuff from time to time.

I'd personally have neither but if you made me choose then cat wins every day.

Hi, I personally like dogs better, but my last pet was a cat.
Yes I would dog though the two I had were pretty loyal and fun to be around.

For most of my life I considered myself a dog person.

Shortly after moving into an apartment with my now-wife, she pretty much demanded we get a cat to keep her company while I work rotating 12 hour shifts (my night shifts were especially lonely for her). Not only did she demand a cat, but she was also set on a specific breed, the Devonshire Rex. I was a little pensive at first, but man are these cats cool. Much more social than normal cats, and very playful. I have since become a cat person. The low-maintenance factor is also quite favor able for our lifestyle.

What do you do about the living wildlife that the cat brings in as rent?

A real cutie but imagine the adult that was newly replete and about to spew on the carpet.

I was really pleased to see this one with his/her tail entire.
Sorry, I can't post the pics directly due to a computer crash.

Add to the list a collared dove (How the hell did he get that through the cat flap?), several field mice, a black rat (no, I don't care if it is an endangered species) and a hen sparrow who appeared to be incontinent.

Anybody want a cat?

Ratbag must really love you. Cats were once worshiped as gods. My two still think it is their due.

Ratbag thinks it's good enough of him to let us share his house.

As do mine. Except they have no compassion for "sleeping in" past their self appointed meal time. I'll just feel this velvet paw against my face or nose and the a slight introduction of 5 pointed reasons not to ignore the reminder any further. even pulling the blankets over my head doesn't keep these self appointed messengers of doom from following my breathing hole with a long paw for a repeat performance.
