PHP error's and Avast giving me virus warnings.

Postby notlongerhere » Mon Mar 11, 2013 3:43 am

Ever since the last crash I sometimes get a php error when accessing the site (before logging in).

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/functions.php on line 4692: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at [ROOT]/includes/hooks/index.php:273)

So far I didn't payed any attention to it but since this weekend my avast Anti virus is giving me a website warning whenever I open TUG's for the first time (and before logging in).

So I'm wondering are there more people who're getting this errors and warnings from their Anti Virus?

Edit: The error seems to come up at random moments for me and I've seen them on multiple pc's.

Get the message when logging on sometimes but no anti-virus warning yet.

Using my two Macs over the past six years, I have never experienced an anti-virus message.

The virus warning seems to be displayed by my avast only.
I'm now behind a pc with avira anti virus and that doesn't give me the virus warning while getting the php error's.

The same has happened to me. Running Norton antivirus. Maybe we could get some word from an admin?

I'm running Mcafee and see nothing. I'll take the board down this weekend and reinstall it all. I'll save the posts.

Thanks Zanev and I'll try it again on a pc that runs Avast (perhaps Avast is being paranoid).
I'll see if I can make a screenshot from the viruswarning perhaps that will help.
The error doesn't scare me but it also messes the site up (as it blocks the connection but as I refresh the site it all the sudden reloads like nothing happened).

Edit: hmm I'm now behind a pc with Avast, I did get the PHP error's but no virus warning so perhaps Avast was a bit messed up.
But I'll check it on my laptop (which first gave me the virus warning to double check it).

Hey Andrew,

I know it's just Avast but I run it on most of my pc's and I don't want to reinstall the AV software on my computers because of this weird error.

I emailed Daniel who runs the site, he cant find a virus but will check the backend of the server and let me know. I also fixed the board errors.

Thanks Zanev you might have fixed the viruswarning then too as I only got them when I get the php error.
So I think it's over but incase I get another warning I'll let you know (but I don't think I'll get them anyore).

Edit: Got it again, again with the php error's but when clicking more details it sents me to a webpage that says.
"You should upgrade Avast for maximum protection".
So it could be Avast acting like a scumbag.

It probably is avast, because no one else not using avast or avg is reporting this. That and we scanned the database and it came up clear. As for the php errors im working on it

I am not using avast, and I did get the same message, mine on Norton. But they have gone away for me as well.
