Tourettes/Muscle Tic Disorders

Postby Scottstud94 » Sat May 15, 2010 8:15 pm

I know for a fact I have some sort of Tic disorder, and I think it may be Tourettes but I'm not sure, does anyone have something like that or know anything that could help me?

I think you're not likely to get anything better than info you could wiki yourself or to hear stories similar to yours on this forum. If you think it is serious, the only RELIABLE way to know what it is is to consult a doctor. Anything else would be - in the end - mere guesswork. There are a number of things it could be; even a mild form of epilepsy.
Unless you experience other more serious symptoms than muscle tics though (or unless they are painful), I would not worry too much about it.

are you saying that you have vulgar outbursts? because that is what tourettes is

No Haloguy, that isn't the offical definiton anymore. Most people with Tourette's exhibit no such symptom, and it is apparently more common than once believed. It's chief feature as the conditon is considered now ARE muscle tics.
I have included a link to the wiki for Toureetes here for anyone who wants to learn more about it:

I still say though that self-diagnosis of any serious symptom is dangerous. Only a doctor should really be trying to answer Scottstud94's question, especially if it is painful or debilitating in any way (if so, it should be checked outr ASAP).

Only severe cases of Tourettes have those outbursts (caligula?) I would have a milder case if I do have it. And I figured I'd check. It's not paiful just a bit annoying

I'm glad your condition is not painful, at least. I know what it's like to have an annoying condition too, believe me. I have Asperger's Syndrome; a form of autism with ther delightful symptom of throwing your social skills right into the shredder! It's been causing me all sorts of problems this weekend right on this Tugsite too!!!
I wish you luck with your condition, whatever it is and whatever you decide to do about it. Unlike my condition, yours is easily and fully treatable if it IS Toureete's. Mine is rather harder to deal with and several other complications are involved as well.

Asbergers has nothing to do with ur little flame wars. Some ppl think they're better than everybody else. I don't post here anymore because I'm sick of it. It's worse than Craigslist man.

That is rather unfair. I never said I thought I was better than anyone. If anything, I have an INFERIORITY complex.
But you ARE entitled to your opinion.
As for the flame wars, I am trying to put an end to it. I can't help it if the others won't.

I misunderstood; a frequent fault of mine. I apologize. :gag:
