High Heels

Postby Kyle » Sun Jun 03, 2012 4:59 pm

Inspired by the posts in another thread...

Why do women wear high heels if they complain about them?

Re: High Heels

Postby sarobah » Sun Jun 03, 2012 5:41 pm

Oh, very, very good question. And if I could respond to it without compromising my belief that we females are logical, rational, rational creatures I would.
But the short answer is – they look good.
As an example on a similar issue, when asked why I was wearing a miniskirt on a cold, windy day, my reply was “You don’t mind the cold when you look hot.”

I really don't think high heels make women look better very much, but I'm not sure a lot of guys would agree with me.

Actually, I rarely wear them.
They make the leg look longer and sleeker. Heels are supposed to be empowering, but I think they do the opposite.

The reason High heels exist it because it gives the illusion of having really long legs which transfers to height a lot of people find that very attractive. It does hurt if worn for too long though.

They look hard to walk in.

I like the way I look in them, very simple.
Plus, they (at least somehow) compensate my lack of height :big:

Highe heels make women look taller. As height and looking up or down on peaople has a significant psychological effect it is quite an effective way to boost your ego. They make legs look longer which many men (and women) think is good. They also straighten out the heel, making your leg look straighter (see my last point)

And if they do hurt you can always take them off at the end of the day and give your feet a nice hoot soak, or walka round barefooted and be sooo decadent.

I think heels complete with the short skirt/white blouse combination can look incredibly attractive on a woman. Not quite as hot as leather boots though.

As another shortie, I’m the opposite. I like to use shortness (shortage? shortitude?) to my advantage – it makes people underestimate me. Or at least it gives me an excuse to wear flats.

I was about to say “Typical male, likes his womenfolk to suffer to look pretty.” But men wear neckties, and that I do not get.

Sarobah, you stole my thunder. I was about to ask "What is the function of neckties?" Well, on this site I'm sure some wags will say they make good gags and blindfolds! :gag: :blindfold:

I'll be honest, I'm pretty shallow. All I see is how good the womanfolk look. I don't think much of the suffering.

I'd imagine a girl with flat feet couldn't wear them. Truh be told, I've seen some girl with heels so high, I seriously wonder why they hate their feet.

Let’s compromise. If I’m silly enough that I will suffer to look sexy, people have my permission to be shallow.

Here’s another personal gripe – again somewhat off-topic. I tutor a class of undergrad students in physics. Once when I wore a short skirt, one of the guys spent the entire session looking at my legs. That didn’t bother me, but at the end of the class he said something like “A chick as hot as you shouldn’t be teaching physics.” He meant it as a compliment, and maybe he was going to add “You should be teaching physiology.” Instead, I gave him heat. He later had the cheek to ask me out.
My point (as you’re probably wondering) is that guys shouldn’t expect to have it both ways – perv on a woman for the way she dresses and then denigrate her for it.
Which no guys here would do, of course :o)

I have read of injuries and even deaths. Now that is crazy!

It can't be too bad if women are wearing it.

I do have to admit, while I don't really think heels make women look better much of the time (maybe on occasion) I do like the clicking sound they make for some reason. I do like high-heeled knee-high boots on women. That's probably the closest to any shoe fetish I have.

High heels are fantastic.

A lot of people complain that they're hard to walk in or are uncomfortable - but in my experience, a little bit of practice is all you need. Sure, they hurt a bit at first, but if you wear them enough they're easy to get used to. Once your feet have gone numb it's difficult to tell anyway. . .

Besides, the pain in definitely worth it. It's like wearing a super-tight dress to go out in - you know you have to suck in your stomach all night, not eat anything and probably come near to passing out - but you do it anyway! Why? Because it looks awesome.

Heel make be sexy on some women but I am 1 guy who would
rather see great legs in stockings or sheer hose.Add a seam
or a nice pattern to the hosiery and I will worship her legs
and feet.

Heels need to be well built and fit well. They are not that uncomfortable then as some guys think.
Of course, this may rule out the cheap shoes for five euros.

Personally, all I have to say is that in my Personal Opinion, I despise high heels.. When I see a woman wearing them it just makes me grimace. Not to mention, that even if I liked them, some of the designs are just revolting anyway. I hate them. Full stop. :)

It makes me very happy to see a girl/woman in a nice pair of flats, or basically any sensible shoe that doesn't have them wobbling 2 inches off the ground! Not to mention I find it quite attractive (sensible shoes/flats/and the like), whereas I utterly and immediately find heels distasteful, repulsive, and just downright cringe-worthy.

Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone here, as I said, it is purely my personal, humble opinion! :)

The fact is, some people like to wear high heels, thats up to them, its their choice.

If they feel comfortable wearing them I don't see a problem :)

Oh right, sorry, I must have missed the memo that mentioned how the word of a twelve year old girl holds dominion over all opinions stated on this forum. . .

If you think high heels suck, then good for you. But in my personal opinion, they're fantastic. I feel sexy when I wear them, my fiance finds me sexy when I wear them and I feel a million dollars in them. People have different opinions on things - and noone else has the right to dictate them. So, as you so eloquently put it, "End of discussion, babe". . .

Sorry, sorry, haha. I've had a long day and I'm clearly a little worse for wear because of it. I apologise for my momentary grouching :P

Bookl0ver - I'm sorry that my post in reply to you was so snappy. I hope you didn't take any offence by it and hopefully this has been nipped in the bud before the thread devolves into off-topic bickering! I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree where heels are concerned, huh? :P

I like high heels in the context of bondage. Being forced to wear something uncomfortable all day is only more fun if it hurts and reminds out it's there with every single step you take!
Also I suppose with some outfit they look naturally good, but everything above a low heel I think of more as a bondage toy. If no one else made you wear then it's just softcore self bondage!

Yes I have. Even funnier is seeing three uncles and one grandfather dress up as ladies for a family reunion talent show skit. For the sake of my aunts and grandmother in attendance, I did not laugh because I felt it would ruin their concentration.
