You could probably have gotten your answer more quickly and easily with less contention by simply checking the Wiki on the subject.
Being less evasive than some who have answered this post without answering your question, and because it makes no difference to me, I'll tell you that I am circumcised. Most (not all) males in my generation in this country were (I am 53). Most people of previous generations in this country were not; it became a common practice only in the 1900'S and prevalent in the 40's in the US (the rest of the world is a different matter). As the notion that health issues were involved became discredited, circumcision for non-religious reasons became less common again by the 1980's or 90's. Circumcision rates are now about 50% to 60%, but that is far less than it used to be (it was once about 90%). It is however greater than any time in US history before about 1940.
