Do you ever Wonder?

Postby myself1931 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 6:22 pm

Has anyone else ever wondered if someone they know might be on this site, without your knowing? Lately, I have been thinking about this a lot, and wondered if anyone else has had the same thought?
Finally got out of that small town, I now live in Toronto. Anyone nearby feel free to hit me up.

Believe it or not, my ex-wife reads these posts---she's the one who told me about this place, in fact. I'm pretty sure she's not a member, though. She found out about it from a mutual friend of ours, and one of our (adult) daughters is aware of it, though I don't know if she even visited.

With 2261 members out of a world population of 6.97 billion, I imagine the odds would be rather slim.
On the other hand, when I first started posting my stories, I had a suspicion (later confirmed) that my brother was a member. Since I hadn’t told him about the site, he had either found it on his own or hacked my computer. Although the latter is a possibility, it’s more likely that with a shared interest in TUGs and a limited number of (good) websites, it was almost inevitable that our paths would converge here.

What first raised your suspicion he was here?

Two things:
(1) He was referring (not so obliquely) to incidents described in the stories I had written.
(2) I read a couple of stories that sounded familiar and other posts that resembled my brother’s style.
Of course, we could have just told each other about this site, but that would have been too easy :o)

I have wondered many a times that one of my friends or natalie or her friends are on this site but agreeing with sarobah on how many people use this site compared to the world population.

But you can't forget how many of those people 1. don't speak english and 2. don't have a computer.

I'm vaguely curious, but most people I know are quite vanilla, so I seriously doubt any of them would show up here, unfortunately.
They used to tie you up!

I think It's not impossible. I've thought about it too and I believe that if there are 2600 members there must be at least as many regular guests, thus making 5200 people on this site. Put into that that we know about 200 people and out of that must be really into bondage and if they go hunting on the internet for bondage stuff it's practically inevitable that your paths meet.
You've seen the best and now your gonna see the rest!

It would be pretty cool, but the way people are, they would probably just smile and walk by and not bring it up. I live in So Cal and there's a lot of people here, most of which are in pretty good shape. Statistically-speaking, there's got to be quite a few people in this area, but whether they found this site or not, who knows.

Alt.com is a good place to find those that are hard core enough that they want to share and seek others, but this site has a certain anonymity to it, meaning most people come here to hide who they are or pretend they're someone else.
Walk the mile first... then have the fun!
