Sex Offenders

There was a small article in the April issue of the libertarian magazine, Reason, that said the Adam Walsh Act of 2006 requires states to register as sex offenders those people convicted of false imprisonment of a minor. They gave as an example a 17 year old boy who "imprisoned" another 17 year old boy in order to make a drug deal--in other words, he made him go along with him against his will. As a result the first boy is now considered a sex offender for life. I imagine you can see where this could easily be made applicable to anyone on this site who says "yes" one minute and then "no" the next.

Just shows you how the law is perverted.

I've heard of a case where a 13/14-year-old kid took nude pictures of himself and then posted them online on a blog to impress some girl. He was arrested (and, I understand, convicted) for distribution of child porn. I don't know if this is true or not but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was.
A person can be arrested and tried as a sex offender simply for downloading certain pictures from certain blogs that are no more explicit than Michealangelo's statue of David.
This is becoming a very paranoid culture we're living in. Kids used to be taught to respect people. Now they're taught to be wary of strangers. So much so that many are actively rude to anyone they meet. So much for a civil society. I liked it much better in the 1960s and 1970s, when people could actually trust one another!
Dare to be different... and make a difference.
To boldly go where no one in their right mind has gone before...
