Self Bondage Straitjacket plan / Advice?

Postby Amagi420 » Thu Jul 14, 2016 12:21 pm

Hello all, I have a plan for a self bondage straitjacket. I am wondering A)If anyone has ever attempted anything like this and if so what they learned and B) if anyone has any ideas or tips.

I recently purchased a Posey Strait jacket and it is now in the mail arriving at the end of the month. I also purchased a timed magnetic lock (Basically just a powerful electromagnet powered by a single 9v battery, it releases when the battery runs out of juice, about 1.5 hours for a cheeper battery)

My plan is to cut the strap on one of the arms and then connect the two parts with the timed lock. I have found a few videos on Youtube and the web about getting into a Straitjacket by yourself, so the plan would be to do that as tightly as possible and then wait of the magnet to run out of juice releasing my arms and freeing me.

The lock has a metal ring on each end and is about the same in construction as an ice lock. I was thinking about putting a rivet in each side of the canvas strap and then timing that off to each side of the lock. The lock can be left on while disconnected and will snap into place when the two sides get near each other.

As a safety/backup I will keep a folding knife in the sleeve of the straitjacket so I could cut my way out if necessary, tho not much can go wrong with the magnet.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I just ordered (today) this leotard straitjacket off of Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1166761295), planning on sleeping in it on a nightly basis. They also have an upgraded version that has a vertical arm strap too, https://www.etsy.com/listing/398853873/ ... otard-with

Will update you guys on when it arrives and how it feels

Nice! I got the self bondage box tie from her, it was pretty good if maybe a little steep but it was also a custom order so fair. It's great.

Yeah it'll be fun to see how it works

The difference with what I'm planning will be the timed release, I always find with sb that it feels a bit pointless when you can easily get out at any time, with this there is the chance of being able to get out by struggling but also the option to give up and just wait it out. which I think will make for a better experience.

I plan on eventually doing an electromagnetic ankle cuff set up for my bed so once I tie myself in the SJ I'll be able to be locked onto my bed for a specific amount of time, however this being my first real self bondage I'm starting off slow

I have messed with some electromagnets for selfbondage and have worked/are working on different doodads for them. Do be careful with the strength that you get and how you use them. In the video linked by bookboy15, the magnets are only rated for 30kg holding force. Our muscles can produce quite a bit of force depending on how we use them and 30 kg can be broken if you struggle too much. You may end up hurting yourself if you pull very hard and then suddenly it gives and you go flying across the room. I have some 50kg magnets and they work alright for basic stuff but if I was really struggling, I can break the hold.

(hopefully) All of us who do self-bondage can somewhat easily get out in case of an emergency. That sometimes takes away from the bondage aspect as we can ultimately get out whenever. When you introduce other devices like electronic locks to take away your control, do keep in mind that safety becomes important. If there is a fire and you are alone, you might be a little screwed. Be sure to have alternative methods of escape and redundant safety measures. Also be sure that whatever you are sticking the magnet to, that it's made from a material that doesn't have magnetic memory; otherwise that piece of metal will become a permanent magnet after long term exposure to the electromagnet and even without any power, will be stuck together.

I've been also working on an arduino program that integrates a smoke, carbon monoxide, and even possibly something with pulling severe weather warnings (like tornado warnings) from the internet for your local area.

This doesn't completely cover you as uncalled for things can happen, but certainly reduces the risk

Personally I prefer a low tech safety, something that can't have a syntax error or run out of batteries, for this setup I plan to just keep a folding knife in the sleeve of the jacket, If a real emergency came up I could cut myself out in a min or two but would ruin a $400 straitjacket so I won't be tempted to use said escape unless it truly is an emergency.
