Dont move quickly in the rope, when you are untied/untie yourself then dont quickly pull it over your skin, try to move it slowly and life it of your skin instead of drag it across your skin. Apart from that i cant think of much else.
Oh, a TUG! Do I have to play alone?

Put on light gloves. Well make the victim put them on. Certain kinds of rope dont cause noticeable burns.

Using the proper ropes for tying up helps a lot.
Rule of thumb: close your hand around the rope and pull it through your fist. If your skin does not get overly warmed, the rope is ok.
For starters, propably the best choics is cotton rope here.

I also wear sweatbands on my wrists if I know I'm going to be tied for a long amount of time so that my wrists are protected. Looks hot too.
