Part 2 -
Sara and her friends were selling cookies when the new boys arrived.
They had set up a stall outside her house, and had baked the cookies together.
Some Girl Scout troops bought cookies, but Sara, Holly and Zoe cooked them by themselves.
And they were all the more popular because of it.
That said, Zoe was a poor chef. She mainly just gathered ingredients.
But they all had fun doing it, and that was the important part.
Today they had already sold three boxes and five individual cookies.
It was a good day indeed.
So naturally it had to be ruined.
Sara saw three boys walk along the pavement towards the stall.
They came to a halt opposite them.
The centre boy, obviously the leader, had an arrogant smirk on his face.
The boy to his right was younger but almost an identical replica of the first boy. A little brother, Sara supposed.
The final boy looked nervous, but he was cute and had a kind face.
Sara glanced to her right and saw Holly looking at the third boy with awe and smiled. It seemed like someone was smitten.
When she looked back to the boy, it seemed that the feeling was mutual.
But then Sara was rocked back to the present when the middle boy slammed his fist on the table.
"Selling cookies, huh?" he snarled.
Sara nodded and crossed her arms. "So what?"
The boy growled. "My name is Jeff. This is my friend Alfie and my little bro Greg. We're part of the new Boy Scout troop. And we're taking over cookie sales in this area."
"Says who?" Zoe countered.
"Says me. Boys are better than girls, so Boy Scouts are better than Girl Scouts."
Sara felt anger in her chest, and she saw Zoe's rage on her face too.
The kind boy, Alfie, held up his hands. "Come on, Jeff, this isn't right. They have as much right to sell cookies as we do. It's not right to steal them."
Jeff grinned. "Steal them? Oh, no..."
Then he kicked the stall hard, causing it to fall over and dump the girls' cookies, a whole afternoon's work, onto the grass.
"Whoops," Jeff said with a smirk, then turned on his heel.
His little brother followed him, but Alfie stayed to help them pick the cookies up.
"Sorry about him," he said with a sigh. "He's very territorial."
"You don't say," Sara replied dryly.
She turned to Zoe. "We need to get revenge."
Zoe grinned. "You bet we do. And I have a plan. But first, we need to know more about our opponents."
"How do we do that?"
As one, the girls turned their eyes to Alfie, and to Holly, who was staring at him with wide, adoring eyes.
"Bingo," they said together.
