Sailor's Daughter: Spring Break (Complete.)

Part 1: In this part, Jeff has a cure for Katie's anxiety

A little over a month had passed since my first date with Logan. I'd seen him two more times since then. Once was during another training session. The other was during the Officer's graduation from the Academy. I had invited him over to my house for a visit several times as well, but our two respective schedules seemed to clash every time. (I had school, and he had Bowling along with Karate.)

Thankfully that was about to change, since Spring Break was coming up, and that meant I had a full week free. A full week in which we can relax a bit after the daily grind of school. It's also a full week without Roslyn and her cronies.

Thanks to the wondrous site known as Facebook, Logan had also met my friends as well, although he still had yet to meet them in person. I was hoping to change that in the near future. Logan and I were finally able to arrange a Tuesday in which he could come over, and hang out.

* * * *

My friends and I decided to spend our Monday hosting a Comedy Movie Marathon at my house. The current movie playing was Monty Python and the Holy Grail when the phone rang.

“Oh, could you pause it please?” I asked, and got up off the couch to answer the phone. “Hello,” I answered.

“Hi Katie, you wanted to talk to me?” Logan asked.

“Yes I did,” I said. “I was just wondering if you were still coming over tomorrow.”

“I should still be able to," He said, in his usual flat, but innocent voice.

“Sounds perfect,” I stated, cheerfully. “Also, Sam, Lucy, and maybe Linda will be joining us as well. Is that okay with you?” I then asked. I figured it was only right to let him know.

“Yeah, I haven't met them in person yet, and I'd like to,” He said. I cracked a smile. I didn't have to mention it. Perfect. “Do you all like movies?” He then asked.

“Um, yes, we like movies,” I answered.

“Okay, I'll bring a funny movie with me,” He said. I just grinned.

“What time should we expect you?” I asked.

“Likely early afternoon,” He responded.

“Alright, I look foreword to seeing you,” I said.

“See ya,” He said back, and we both hung up.

“Was that Logan?” My Dad asked, now joining us. I turned to see him leaning on the doorway.

“Yep, he'll be over in the early afternoon,” I stated. Dad then nodded.

“You all coming too?” He then asked my friends.

“I'd like too,” Linda answered.

“I know you two will,” Dad said. “I hope he doesn't get overwhelmed.”

“It's just the five of us,” I said.

“Six, you're Uncle's coming over at around four,” Dad stated.

“Oh boy, is he in for a shock,” Lucy said. Dad then shifted his attention to the TV.

“Monty Python?” He asked.

“Yep,” I said.

“In that case, I'll stick around,” He said, and sat down in the vacant recliner. I just shrugged, and started up the movie again. I was now worried that we may have gone a bit too far with this. Oh well, it was too late to turn back now. I was now hoping I didn't chase Logan away. Little did I know, he had a heck of a surprise of his own.

* * * *

Next morning, I went through my usual morning routine of breakfast, shower, and getting dressed. I decided to go a with a pair navy skirted leggings, and a black polo shirt with white tipping on the collar and cuffs.

I then put my hair into a ponytail, and checked myself in the mirror. Satisfied with my appearance, I went down stairs.

Dad and I went through a quick cleaning job on the house after dinner yesterday, and I was now checking things over to make sure it stayed that way. Once we were done with lunch though. my heart was starting to race a bit, as I was now starting to get a bit excited.

“Katie, is something wrong?” Dad asked me, as he left the kitchen. I just shrugged.

“I was just double checking the house again,” I said.

“Katie, you've double checked the house at least three times already now,” dad said, and he looked like he was about to start laughing. I just sighed.

“I'm just a bit over excited I guess,” I confessed. Dad smiled, walked over to me, and held me by my shoulders.

“Just take a deep breath, and calm down,” He insisted. I nodded, and closed my eyes. I took in a deep breath, and let it out slowly. “Better?” He then asked.

“I think so,” I said. He smiled, and let go of me.

“How about a quick tie up round to take your mind off things,” He then suggested.

“Oh, okay,” I chirped. He smiled knowing his suggestion had cheered me up.

I headed back to my room to fetch a couple linen strips, and my black headband gag. I then went back down to the living room, and gave my supplies to him.

“Okay, why don't you put that on first, since you know more about how you like it,” He said, pointing at the headband.

“There's not much to it really,” I said, as I wadded up the sock that was sewn onto it. I then pushed the soft wadded up sock into my mouth with the headband covering it OTM style as usual. I lifted my ponytail up, and let the headband snap in place behind my head.

With my gag in place I turned my back to Dad so he could start up on my hands. He took hold of both my wrists, and pulled them behind my back where they were bound together with a linen strip. Once that was done, I sat down on the couch, so that Dad could then bind my feet together as well.

“Alright, comfortable?” He asked me.

“Mmm Hmm,” I hummed.

“Okay, I'll be right back. I need to bring my laptop down here since I don't want to leave you unattended like this,” He then insisted. Normally he does his work related things on his desktop computer in his office, so I understood his reasoning for doing it on his laptop down here with me.

An hour later...

I took in another deep breath through my nose, and let it out slowly. Being bound and gagged always helps me to relax, as that's always what occupied my thoughts. (If I'm in a friendly environment that is.) I'd look behind me every so often to check the bonds on my wrists. I'd wiggle and tug on them occasionally, but they held tight. My gag muffled any attempts to talk, and unfortunately, I always instinctively felt the need to remove it. Every time I tried though, the bonds on my hands reminded me that it was impossible.

"I'm glad my hands are tied behind my back," I thought to myself. I could escape from my bonds, but that was a lot less tempting. I didn't think about any other troubles I may have had.

I looked over to Dad who was still working at his computer. Just then, the door bell rang. I felt my blood run cold. I didn't want Logan to see me like this. (well, not yet anyways.) Dad walked up to the door from his computer, and peeked through the eye hole.

“It's Sam,” He told me, and I breathed a sigh of relief. It was someone who was accustomed to seeing me bound and gagged. “Hi Sam,” dad greeted, as he opened the door for her. She was dressed in a pair of skinny blue jeans and her T-shirt that featured Ike from Fire Emblem. I also saw that she had her 3DS case attached to her belt.

“Hello Mr. Narrows,” she greeted. She then saw me. “Katie, have you been naughty?” she then asked, with a smirk on her face. I shook my head no.

“No, she just needed some help to take her mind off things,” Dad answered.

“Well, to each their own,” Sam said with a shrug.

“You can untie her if you want,” Dad offered, as he went back to his laptop. Sam looked thoughtful for a minute.

“Nah, I think she looks much better like this,” She then taunted. I just glared at her.

"Hh shhf uhf," I demanded. She just chuckled, as she then sat down beside me, and pulled out her 3DS. “In all seriousness though, I have a few extra Pokémon that I been breeding, and I'd like to know if you wanted any of them,” She then said. I nodded yes, and with that, both of us had our attentions on her game screen.

Oh, I didn't even notice the last series had ended. Whoops.

Either way, I'm very much looking forward to this latest installment.

Yeah, I'm hoping that this one will be longer then the last one. Mysterious Ways was only 4 parts, (although two of them were huge.) Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the first step of this little tale, and I'm already working on the next part.

Part 2: In this part, Logan meets the rest of the Team, and happens to know one of them in person already.

Sam scanned over her box of Pokémon, and as she scrolled over each one, she'd look to me to see my reaction. I'd shake my head no if I wasn't interested, and nod yes if I was. Each Pokémon I picked was moved into a different box.

“Okay, that's the last of um,” She said. I nodded, and looked at her. “What?” She asked me.

“Cnn yhh nntuh mm nnw, sh h cnn ggh mh Thrrdhsh?” I asked her. Sam blinked at me.

“I'm sorry, what?” She asked me. I rolled my eyes, and then looked back at her.

“Cnn yhh pllshh nn-tuh mm nnw, sh h cnn ggh mh Thrr-dh-sh?” I tried to say through my gag, and wiggled my bonds at her. Or at least, I tried to.

“You want to be untied, so we can do the trade?” Sam asked, and I nodded yes. “Why do we have to do it now? We can wait till later,” She then suggested. Dad just snickered. I let out a heavy sigh.

“Pllshh?” I pleaded. She just smiled at me.

“Show me your hands,” She instructed. I shifted on the couch, and offered my hands to her. I then felt the bonds loosening, and soon my hands were free at last. I was able to do the rest now.

“Thank you Sam,” I said, once the gag was out of my mouth. I set it on the floor while I untied my feet. “I'll be right back,” I said, as I picked up my stuff. “I need to put this stuff in my dirty clothes, and get my 3DS,” I then explained.

“I'll be right here,” Sam said back.

I went back to my room, and depositing the linen strips and my gag in my hamper. I then got my 3DS, and went back down to rejoin Sam on the couch. I turned on my game, and we began our trades. Soon the door bell rung again.

“Ah, that must be Lucy,” I said, and went to the door to answer it. I was actually surprised to see Logan standing in the doorway. He was dressed a lot like Dad. He had on blue jeans, a red T-shirt, and a plaid shirt over it. His T-shirt would make Uncle Robert proud. It had this phrase on it: “People who say they're perfect annoy those of us who are.” I also saw that he had arrived in the same truck he drove me home in.

“Oh, hi Logan,” I greeted, sounding surprised, since he wasn't due here for another forty minutes or so.

“Hi Katie, sorry I'm early. I hope it's okay,” He said.

“Yeah, it's fine. Come on in,” I said, and allowed him entry. He then looked over to see Sam who smiled at him.

“Oh, you must be Sam,” He greeted, and shook her hand.

“How'd you know I'm Sam?” She asked him.

“Well, Katie has two friends who's hair resembles hers, and you don't have a metal leg,” Logan answered. He was quite right of course. Only Sam and Kelsey have hair colors close to mine, and Kelsey has the metal leg, as he put it.

“That certainly narrows it down,” Sam admitted.

“How you doing Logan?” Dad then greeted, he still had his eyes on his computer. “Forgive me, but I'm in the middle of work related stuff right now.”

“I'm not upset. I'm doing okay,” Logan answered. Sam kinda blinked at him. She was now starting to realize what I meant by his speech pattern. Logan then turned his attention back to me. “By the way Katie. I like your outfit. I think it's really cute,” He complimented.

“Oh, thank you,” I said, with a smile, as I clasped my hands behind my back. “anyways. Logan, if you don't mind me being forward, what movie did you bring?” I then asked. He blinked a bit.

“Oh, I left it in the truck,” He said, and then left to go get it. Sam and I both watched as he did so.

“Wow, I see what you mean,” She said. I looked at her. “About the way he talks,” She then elaborated.

“Yeah, it's a bit awkward at first,” I said. She then eyed me.

“Does he know about our games yet?” She asked, with a hint of seriousness in her voice. I shook my head no. “Not yet,” I answered, as he was now on his way back again. I also saw that he bumped into Lucy as well. Lucy had on her Fire Emblem T-shirt and a pair of gray sweatpants. They both shook hands, and walked back to my house together.

“How long before we should let him know?” Sam asked.

“I don't know just yet, but I'll let you all know when I decide to,” I told her. I then opened the door for the two of them.

“Well, nice to see you two met up,” Sam stated.

“Yeah, we did,” Logan responded. The rest of us blinked. We weren't sure how to continue off of that.

“Right, so,” I said, now changing the subject. “What movie did you bring?” I asked.

“It's called Top Secret. I think it's funny,” Logan said, and handed me the DVD case. One look at the cover, and I could tell that I was likely to find this funny as well. I started cracking up a bit once I saw it, and handed it to Sam, so that she could see it.

“Oh, it was made by the same people who made Airplane,” Sam stated.

“Is it really,” I said, and looked at the case again. She was right of course.

“What's Airplane?” Logan asked.

“It's another really funny movie,” I answered. I thought that speaking in his own terms would be easier for him to understand.

“Oh, okay,” He said.

“Would you like to see Airplane before we watch this one?” I then asked.

“Yeah, sure,” Logan said, with a smile.

We all had adjured to the TV room. Well, everyone but Dad. He was still doing his work stuff. I set up the movie while my friends all claimed seats.

“Do you play video games Logan?” Lucy then asked. Logan, much to my surprise shook his head.

“I'm not really into video games,” He answered. “I like to watch though.”

“We tend to play them a lot,” I said, as I set the movie to play. Dad then entered the room, and claimed his spot at the end of the couch. I then sat down beside him, and Logan occupied the other spot next to me. Lucy and Sam sat down in the recliners respectively.

1 hour later...

After about an hour, all of us were just shy of stitches. The ring of the Doorbell again however brought us back to reality. We set the movie to pause, and I walked over to the door to see my hulking Uncle standing on the porch.

“Hey Princess,” He greeted, and gave me a hug, and he walked inside. Dad greeted him next, and my friends all followed. What happened next shocked me quite a bit.

“Hi Gunny Narrows,” Logan greeted.

“Logan Buckley!” My Uncle greeted back, in a bit of surprise himself. “How'd you end up over here?"

“Wait a minute. You know each other?!” I asked, with wide eyes.

“Yeah, I was his math tutor a few years ago when the teachers at his school refused to work with him properly,” Uncle Robert answered.

“Well, how about that,” Dad said.

“So, how are ya Kid?” My Uncle asked, forgetting his first question.

“I'm doing okay. Katie became a friend of mine about a month ago, and I'm meeting her other friends today,” He answered. My Uncle nodded.

“How'd you two meet?” He then asked.

“She punched me in the face,” Logan stated. I felt myself blushing so heavily, and buried my face into my hands. Everyone else just laughed. Actually, to be fair, I laughed too.

“Technically...that is true,” I said, once I had the courage to show my face again. Dad, Logan, and I then went over the tale with him.

“That's quite a story,” My Uncle Complimented. “So, what are you up to now?”

“We were showing Logan Airplane,” I said.

“Oh, I love that movie,” Uncle Robert said, and with that we all headed back to the TV room.

We all occupied our former spots, although a few changes had to be made. Dad brought his computer chair from his office down, and sat down in it. Uncle Robert took Dad's former spot on the couch. I was about to sit down when the phone rang. I walked over to it, and spotted Linda's number on the caller ID. I grinned, and answered the phone.

“Hey Linda,” I greeted.

“Hello Kate, just letting you know I'm on my way now,” Linda told me.

“Okay,” I said. We said a quick good-bye, and I set the phone down.

“Was that Linda?” Dad asked, and I nodded yes.

“Alright then,” I stated, as I started the movie back up again.

20 minutes later...

The sound of the doorbell signified the arrival of our final guest. I paused the movie, and headed to the front door.

“Hey Linda,” I greeted, as she stepped through. I noticed also that Mrs. Trotter had given us a wave from her car before she finally left.

“Mum has quite a few errands to run,” Linda explained. “How are you?”

“I'm doing good. Pretty much everyone's here today,” I said, as I clasped my hands behind my back again. Linda had on a T-shirt which is very unusual for her, as I think I mentioned before. It was green, and she paired it with a blue, mid length skirt.

“Hi Linda,” Dad then greeted. Everyone else followed in there own way.

“And you must be Logan,” She said, as she extended her hand.

“I am,” Logan said, as he shook her hand.

“It's nice to finally meet you in person,” Linda said. Logan nodded to her. “So, what have I missed out on?” She then asked.

“We were finishing up Airplane in the TV room,” Uncle Robert said.

“Logan brought over another Movie made by the same people called Top Secret,” Sam then said.

“Oh, sounds like fun,” Linda said, and we all headed back to the TV room again. That's pretty much how the day went. What we talked about after this is stuff I've already talked about with you guys. Logan did bring up something interesting, but I'll explain that...a bit later.

Author's note: If you haven't seen Airplane or Top Secret, I highly recommend giving them a watch or twelve. They are both hilarious.

Having watched both, I agree, they're both great comedies.
Good to see Logan doesn't mind all of Katie's friends being there. Hopefully everything else goes alright between them.
Excellent update all around.

Most people with Logan's...eh...I'll say "condition", would prefer not to be around large groups. The thing is, Bowling on a team involves being around a lot of people. (I know because I was able to watch a tournament qualifying round recently.) So he's more accustomed to being in a crowd. Although, the reason I had Robert visiting was to include another guy, and not have him almost entirely alone with the girls. This part was primarily a formal intro for Logan and Katie's friends, although, as mentioned before, they did know each other somewhat before this moment.

As a sneak peak clue for the next part: The shoe will be on the other foot.

That all being said, thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Part 3: In this part, Katie meets Logan's Team.

After the movies, we pretty much just sat around and chatted up until dinner time. Pretty much everything that we talked about has already been covered in the previous installments. I just don't think you want to here me ramble on about them again. (If you want me to then I will.) We did however leave out the tying up bits...at least, for now.

Everyone was present for dinner as well, and soon it was time for our guests to head home. Linda was the first to leave, followed by Uncle Robert, and then Lucy and Sam shortly after. As Logan grabbed the keys to his truck, he turned to me.

“Thanks for having me over,” He said.

“Your welcome,” I chirped, as I clasped my hands behind my back. He then paused, as if he had a thought. “Something wrong?” I asked, as I had noticed.

“Katie, my team is playing a qualifying round at Sunset Lanes this Thursday,” Logan said. “Would you like to come watch?”

“I'd like to, but I need to check with Dad first,” I said.

“What are we checking with Dad first about?” Dad asked, now joining us from the upstairs restroom.

“Logan's team is playing a qualifying round at Sunset Lanes this Thursday, and he was wondering if we'd like to watch,” I explained to him.

“I was told they don't allow audiences for those,” Dad responded.

“I don't know where you heard that,” Logan stated. “There's a seating area for people watching behind the lanes.”

“What time does it start?” Dad then asked.

“Two thirty,” Logan answered. That was a bit of an uh oh. You see, Thursday was also our grocery shopping day.

“Thursday is our grocery shopping day, so if we do make it, we'll likely be a bit late,” Dad said. Logan just shrugged.

“That's fine. I won't be upset if you don't make it,” He stated.

“I'll text you if we can't,” I then chimed in.

“Okay,” Logan said, flatly. “Bye for now.”

“Good-bye,” Dad, and I both said, and with that, Logan left for home.

As the door closed, I walked over to the window, to watch as he left. He got into his truck, and I could see him give me a wave. I gave him a wave back as he left.

“What do you think?” I asked Dad, as he stood beside me.

“I think he's a good kid,” He told me.

“When do you think I should tell him about my obscure hobby?” I asked.

“I'm afraid I can't really answer that. You'll have to judge that one for yourself,” He explained.

“Maybe just a bit longer,” I responded.

Thursday, 3:00 PM...

Grocery shopping went better then we had expected, but never the less, we arrived a bit late to the Bowling Ally. With the aid of the mirror in the passenger side sun visor, I finger combed my hair back a bit more, and then got out. I also decided to dress a bit more casually today with an unbuttoned plaid shirt over a white tank top, a pair of skinny jeans, and my riding boots.

We entered the building, and I could already hear the sound of Bowling taking place. As we continued to the lanes, I saw several teams taking respective turns throwing balls down the lanes to knock down the pins.

It didn't take me long to find Logan's team, as they were all wearing the same blue Jersey that Logan had on during our first...I'll say outing. I don't know if it was a date per-say. We also saw that he was being supported by his parents, and Mr. Peterson.

“Hey Deputy, Hey Dale,” Dad greeted to them both.

“Oh, Jeff, I'm glad you both could make it,” Mr. Peterson greeted, He shook Dad's hand, and then mine.

“Hey Jeff,” Deputy Chief Buckley then greeted, and they shook hands as well. “Oh, this is my Wife Holly,” He then introduced.

“Good to meet you Holly,” Dad greeted, and She smiled as they shook hands. She looked to be Native American, as She had reddish tan skin, and jet black hair that was tied into a long braid. She was in great shape as well. Logan was of Indian descent, and not Hispanic as I had originally thought.

“Nice to meet you as well,” She greeted back,” Although my tribe name is Red Sparrow,” She then added. “And you must be Kaitlin,” She then greeted to me.

“Yep,” I chirped, and shook her hand as well.

“Logan's told me a lot about you,” Mrs. Buckley then said.

“All good I trust,” I stated. She just grinned. I smiled back, and turned my attention to the game. Logan was up, and threw a strike for his team. As he turned, he saw Dad and me. He didn't say anything, but he waved when he saw me. I knew it was best that I didn't distract him from his game play, and just waved back.

Logan's team was actually quite diverse. Some of the player looked to be about his age, but the man who was up next actually looked to be about in his early thirties. The next man up actually threw the ball with two hands rather then one.

I sat down at the table next to the Buckleys behind Logan's lane while Dad walked up to the counter to get us some coffee.

“Do you Bowl Katie?” Mr. Buckley then asked me.

“Not very well,” I answered, a bit nervously. “Logan tried to teach me a while back, and while I did improve, He is in a league beyond mine.”

“No doubt about that,” Mr. Buckley stated. “He's consistently winning almost as much money as I'm making.”

“Are you serious?” I asked him. That was rather surprising. He just nodded. “Is he a pro?” I then asked.

“He's a semi pro right now, but he's looking to make it into the pro circuit,” The Deputy told me. I just mouthed a “wow.”

“What's up?” Dad asked, as he returned with two cups of coffee.

“I just learned that Logan's in fact a semi pro, and consistently winning as much money as his Dad earns,” I answered.

“Oh jeez,” Dad responded, in a rather surprised tone.

“This is the last qualifying round, and Logan's team is in third place right now,” Officer Peterson then chimed in.

“I hope they can maintain it, or better yet, climb higher,” I stated.

“Indeed,” Mrs. Buckley added.

* * * *

“Okay, we're taking a break right now! Everyone meet back here at Three Thirty please!” A lady's voice called over the P.A. System. Everyone Bowler let out a sigh of relief, and calmed down. While most of them walked off to get some food, or a drink, Logan grabbed a water bottle, and walked over to us.

“Hi Katie, Hi Mr. Narrows. I'm glad you could make it,” Logan greeted to us.

“You're looking very good out there,” I said back. Logan just nodded.

“Is this her Logan,” A young blonde kid from Logan's team asked, as he walked over.

“Yeah, this is Katie, and her Dad,” Logan answered, and turned back to us. “This is Kyle. He's on my team,” He then introduced.

“So I see,” I commented, as I shook his hand. The fact that Kyle was wearing the same team jersey kinda gave it away, but I knew it was just his way of expressing himself.

“Good to meet you Katie, you too Her Dad,” Kyle then greeted to us. Dad laughed at Kyle's little jape.

“Nice to meet you as well,” I greeted back.

“I'm Jeff by the way,” Dad then greeted, as they shook hands as well. Kyle then nodded, and then noticed as someone was trying to get his attention.

“Sorry to leave so soon, but my Girlfriend's calling me over,” Kyle explained.

“You better not keep her waiting,” Dad mentioned. Kyle nodded, and walked off.

“So, who's the older guy?” I asked, as the man was performing some stretches, and taking a sip of water every so often.

“That's Ben. He's the Team Captain,” Logan answered. “And that's Billy over there,” He then said, and gestured over to an African American man who was maybe a bit older than Logan was. He was also the same person who I saw bowling with the two handed style. “He usually goes by his nickname Blackie though,” He then added. That sounded like an unpleasant racial slur to me.

“And who came up with that?” I asked, sounding a bit offended.

“He did,” Logan answered. I blinked for a second.

“Why?” I asked.

“From what he told me, he was picked on a lot in school, and that's what most of the kids there called him,” Logan then explained. I rolled my eyes in disgust. “Billy however decided not to be upset about it, and instead responded cheerfully to it in order to make them upset instead, and the name sorta stuck with him.”

“That's...not quite how it happened,” Billy then said, as he looked over at us from his seat.

“If you don't mind me asking, how did it happen?” I then asked him.

“Well, the thing is, the school I went to had it's fair share of bullies, and mine was no exception,” Billy began. I knew what he meant to, as my mind began flooding with images of Roslyn picking on my friends. “Anyways, there were other Black kids around, but there was one group that always seemed to single me out, and they would call me things like Black Face, and Black Kid, and things like that,” Billy explained.

“That's disgusting,” I retorted. Billy then held up his finger.

“Ah, but that's where I had the last laugh,” He pointed out. “They greeted me with one of their chosen slurs, and I said to them: Why don't you just say Blackie. It's easier,” He stated. I blinked at him. “They were so taken aback by my response that they just left.”

“Seriously?” I asked.

“Yep, and so eventually the name Blackie kinda stuck with me, as I managed to turn something negative into something positive,” Billy explained.

“Instead of a brand, it became a badge,” Dad then mentioned.

“Exactly,” Billy said. “There were other groups like the one I just mentioned around the school too. Some of them were Black, and called other types of people nasty racial names as well.”

“Dear God,” I groaned, in response.

“Yeah, some of them asked me to join them, and I told um no,” Billy stated. “It doesn't matter what the color of your skin is. Racism is wrong. Period.”

“Amen to that,” Officer Peterson chimed in.

“I like the way you think Billy,” I said, with a grin. Logan nodded his agreement as well.
“Everyone please meet back at the lanes. The next round is about to begin!” The Lady over the P.A. Then announced.

“Oh, excuse me. I have to go play now,” Logan said.

“I'll be cheering for you,” I said back, and with that, Logan rejoined his team, and they resumed the game.

After the remaining games were played out, Logan's Team moved into second place which was very nice indeed. We said our good-byes, and Dad and I then headed home.

“It's a shame you can't really see him that often,” Dad commented on the way back home.

“Actually, I like the fact that I don't see him that often right now,” I said back.

“Why would you say that?” Dad asked, with a tone of bewilderment.

“It means the times we are able to see each other will mean a little more,” I answered. Dad then nodded.

“I know what you mean now,” He said. “Now that you mention it. I didn't get to see your Mom that often at first when I was still in the Navy, but those few times we did still hold a special spot in my heart,” He then explained, and I thought I saw him tear up a little. He just gave me a smile. I smiled back. Things were looking up for me right for now, but life is full of surprises.

Author's note: Sorry this took so long. I got a bit distracted. I hope this part turned out okay.

Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you liked it, as I kinda rushed through it. I did revise a few things involving Billy's story though. I went into more detail with him, because He's going to be popping up again from time to time. Not foreshadowing anything at all of course.

Part 4: In this part, Jeff, Katie, and Mr. Peterson get caught in a rather unpleasant affair between a man, and his one true love.

Well, next Saturday started out like any other day. The weather was sunny, but still a bit chilly due to the time of year. I took my shower, and then got dressed. I just went with a pair of black leggings, and a blue T-shirt that reads: “I'll stop being sarcastic when you stop being stupid.”

After putting my hair into a ponytail, I went downstairs to have breakfast. Dad is usually in the kitchen with his coffee, but he wasn't here today, as he had some work stuff to deal with. Once I was done, I went back upstairs to see him heading out of his office.

“Hey Katie, I need to run a few errands. Care to join me?” He asked. I blinked at him. I really didn't have anything planned for today.

“Yeah, sure,” I chirped. Every so often I like to get out of the house, and go places. Dad gave me a nod, and headed down stairs himself. I went back to my room, and put on socks, shoes, and my hoodie jacket. I then grabbed my phone, and with that, I was no ready to go.

I went back down stairs to join Dad who was also ready to go, as he now had on his jacket, and was holding the keys to the truck. We left the house, got in the truck, and headed to our first stop.

“So, any word from Logan on Facebook?” Dad asked. I grinned.

“Yes actually,” I responded. “He and I chatted for a bit last night, and he also sent me a few pictures of the place where his tournament is taking place.”

“Oh, I'd like to see them if I may,” Dad said, now sounding interested.

“Sure,” I said back. “The tournament is also going to be broadcast on TV, and he gave me the channel it was going to air on,” I stated.

“Oh nice, we'll need to tune into that if we can,” Dad said, now sounding about as surprised as I was when I first found out.

Our first stop was the grocery store to pick up a few items that were missed on our last outing. Next stop was our bank. B.C.T. Is a private bank that is actually quite exclusive. It's also quite large. The first floor almost resembled that of a typical skyscraper, and had nicely polished granite flooring.

Dad and I walked up to the receptionist, and while Dad did his business, I looked around, and saw a familiar face. He was sittting on a nearby bench against the wall. I then walked over to him.

“Hello Mr. Peterson,” I greeted to him. The Officer, who's attention was on the front door for some reason, jerked his attention when he saw me.

“Oh, hi Katie,” He greeted. He didn't look as though he was on duty today at least, as he didn't have his uniform on.

“Any particular reason you're looking at the door?” I asked him.

“Yep, I'm waiting for someone,” Mr. Peterson replied.

“Hey Dale,” Dad then greeted, as he had finished, and walked over.

“Hi Jeff,” Mr. Peterson greeted to my Dad, he shook his hand, but his attention was still on the front for some reason.

“You seem distracted,” Dad pointed out, as he had noticed as well.

“No, I'm on duty though,” The Officer said. So, he's on duty, and not wearing his uniform. That means only one thing: He's under cover.

“Oh, I'm sorry, should we leave?” Dad then asked, sounding as though he hoped he wasn't disrupting anything.

“No no, it's fine,” Officer Peterson then stated. “If anything else, talking to a few friends will help make me look a bit less conspicuous,” He then added. This, of course begged the obvious question.

“What's going on?” I asked him, as Dad sat down beside him. I sat down by Dad.

“Well, it seems as though the Bank Manager is being hounded by a man wanting to be her Boyfriend or something,” The Officer answered.

“Oh, so it's a love affair,” Dad pointed out.

“I wouldn't call it that exactly,” Officer Peterson said. “Apparently they met in the coffee shop she always goes to during her lunch time. Ever since then, he'd been showing up there everyday. Apparently they started getting to know each other, but he then started asking a lot of suspicious questions.”

“Like what?” I asked.

“Like when her shift starts and ends, what the bank hours are, things like that,” He answered. “When she refused to answer, he started becoming a bit more forceful.”

“Has the Manager stopped going there?” Dad asked.

“Yes, she did,” Officer Peterson answered. “Apparently this man was quite vexed to find out she wasn't there at her usual time, and actually came into the bank, and demanded to know why she didn't show up.”

“She's not at his beck and call,” I spat. Dad looked quite angry at this too.

“Anyways, just yesterday, he told her that today would be the last time she would ever see him, and he had a threatening tone in his voice when he said it. She then called the police, and here I am today,” Mr. Peterson explained.

It was at this point a Lady in her early thirties or so ran up to us. She was wearing a nice suit with an open necked blouse, and her hair was tied back into a ponytail. She looked quite frightened.

“OFFICER!” She called, as she ran up to us, and then pointed at the door. “That's him. That's the man who's been stalking me!” She called out, but in a hushed voice so as not to alarm her customers.

The three of us looked over at the front of the bank to see a nice looking gentleman wearing a slick suit and tie approaching the front door. He was carrying a pistol with a silencer on it. What's more. He also brought along a few friends as well. At least six of them to be exact. They were carrying large duffle bags, or guns, or both.

“Oh boy,” I groaned.

“That is not a stalker,” Dad groaned.

“No,” Officer Peterson groaned. Once all of the men were inside, the man leading the pack made an announcement.

“This...is a robbery!” He declared. (If you all were wondering where all the bad guys had gone...well...we found some.)

Part 5: In this part, The Boss lays down the law, and Jeff responds accordingly...by breaking it.

Gasps filled the room, as the people inside started backing away. They were almost all completely swarmed by the team, who started barking orders for them to stop.

“Everyone stay still, and listen up!” the Leader yelled. He then reached into a bag, and pulled out some sort of device. “Your cell phones...are now useless!” He announced, now dissolving any hopes of calling for help. “Just pull them out, and leave them on the floor!” He ordered. No one dared to argue. Not when they had guns pointed at them.

Dad, Mr. Peterson and I pulled out our phones, and I noticed that dad left his under the bench we were sitting on. I decided to do the smart thing, and follow suit. Officer Peterson also did the same. “So far, so good!” The Boss barked. “Now everyone get your butts upstairs!” He then barked. I saw that everyone now looked to panicked to move, and that could prove dangerous. With a sigh, the Man in charge pointed his gun upwards, and fired it. “NOW!!” He bellowed.

Soon everyone was being marched upstairs by the goon squad. Dad, Mr. Peterson, and I all huffed a bit, and got up. We then followed everyone else upstairs, and through the banks hallways. Along the way, more people joined us, as they were pulled into the group. Some had their phones smashed as they tried to dial for help.

Within a few minutes we were all caroled into a fairly large room. Once we were inside, The Boss nodded his satisfaction, and left briefly. I'm guessing he was checking the proceedings with the rest of his team.

“Do you think we could take down a couple of them, and stop this before it gets any worse?” Mr. Peterson asked Dad. “We only need a couple of guns to level the playing field.”

“Don't you have a gun with you?” I whispered back to him.

“I do, but I don't think your Dad does, and I'm not drawing mine until I know these people are safe,” Mr. Peterson whispered back to me.

“Which brings us to the problem,” Dad whispered, and gestured to the other people in the room with us. They all looked really terrified. “We make a move now, and a good handful of these people are likely to get shot. No, we need to put ourselves in a position of power first.”

“How are we going to do that?” I asked, in a hushed, but annoyed voice. Position-of-power my foot.

“I'm working on that,” Dad answered back, in the same hushed voice. He then turned his attention back to the crowd. “Everyone please remain calm, and please don't-” He paused as he noticed one man pressed flat against the wall next to the door. “Hey!” Dad spat, trying to get his attention. He took one look at my Dad with fear in his eyes, and shook his head no.

He waited, and then jumped at his chance to escape. We heard a yell from a few feet down the hall, and saw him dragged back in by The Boss, and one of his goons.

“That is quite enough of that!” The Boss barked, as they both threw him to the ground. He then turned his attention to the rest of us. “Alright everyone. Welcome to my retirement party,” He announced. “Let me just lay down a couple of ground rules for you. Rule number one: No one leaves the party room! Rule number 2: No assaulting your hosts. Finally, no cops allowed,” He told us.

I felt my blood temperature drop a bit on hearing that last part. I looked over at Mr. Peterson. I noticed he looked a bit more nervous now. I just really hoped he wouldn't go flashing his badge or gun around any time soon. The Boss then continued with his speech.

“Now then, follow my rules, and you all walk out of here when we're done. Break one of my rules, and you get punished,” He stated. He then pointed his gun at the man he threw to the ground, and fired a round into his shoulder.

The man let out a scream of pain while everyone else gasped. I cupped my hands to my mouth with wide eyes. Now I knew that these guys were not bluffing. Dad and Officer Peterson then approached the man. “Uh uh, back away,” He told them.

“Sir, I'm an EMT,” Dad said.

“As am I” Mr. Peterson chimed in, playing along. Ah, Dad and his usual scheming.

“I don't care if you're the King of England, now move away,” The Boss ordered.

“We need to attend to this man's wound, or he could die,” Dad tried to explain. I could tell by his tone of voice that he was trying to sound sympathetic.

“Too bad for him I guess,” The Boss snarled. I frowned at how uncaring he was. Dad just sighed.

“Sir, you have at least a couple dozen people in this room, and right now, in they are in a very bad emotional state. You have just proved you will use your weapons on them. If they believe they are going to die, then they will panic, and they will start fighting back. I don't want a bloodbath here any more then you do,” Dad said to him. “Now, may I please attend to this man's wound?”

“Fine, whatever,” The Boss snarled, and walked over to one of his goons. “Make sure they stay put,” He said to him.

“You Son of a Bitch!” The Bank Manager spat at him. He then walked up to her, and held his gun right under her chin.

“You really think I gave a damn about you?” He asked her. The Manager was half terrified, and half furious. “I don't need you anymore, so don't piss me off,” He stated, and then walked out of the room. I don't know where he went, but we weren't going anywhere since he left one of his guys behind at the nearby elevator to insure we didn't try anything else. He was however...a bit too late on that front.

“Now I hope you don't try another stunt like that again,” Dad stated firmly to the man he was attending.

“I don't think...I can...I can take this,” The man said, in between wincing due to the pain.

“Well, you're going to have to find a way, and as long as you do as this man and I say, you shouldn't have another problem like this,” Officer Peterson chimed in. Dad briefly turned to face the Bank Manager.

“Who is that guy?” Dad then asked Her.

“His name is Scott Remington,” she told us, with venom in her voice. She then relayed her story of how they met.

“Yeah, Dale told me how you two met,” Dad clarified. He then turned to me. “Katie, can you apply some pressure right there please?” He asked.

“Yeah,” I said, as I walked around, and held onto a cloth over the wound, and pressed down.

“Officer, why did you say you were an EMT when you're clearly a police officer?” Another person in the room asked. Officer Peterson smirked at him.

“Because when Jeff says something like that, it's best to just play along,” He answered.

“What does that mean?” Another Lady asked.

“I'm not an EMT, I'm a former Navy SEAL,” Dad said, in a hushed tone. “I know a few things about surgery, and posing as an EMT may just get us out of here.”

“I'm not quite following,” The Manager said, sounding confused. I was grinning now. Trust Dad to go to the well, and come up with the most bizarre solutions to a problem.

“I see our Hosts needing a Doctor in their near future as well,” Dad explained. One man then reacted to this in a way that was quite rational.

“Whoa whoa, you heard what that guy said,” the man stated. “If you attack him or his guys, he's gonna start shooting people,” He told my Dad. Dad smiled at him.

“I'm not going to attack them. I'm just going to throw a few banana peals in front of them to slip on,” He said, with a sick smile.

“Karma, thy name is Jeffery Narrows,” Mr. Peterson said, and the two bumped fists.

“I think the position of power is about to take a big shift real soon,” I added.

For too long have we seen the girl get kidnapped, and have to find out why. Then it's a hunt and a chase to find who the bad guy is, and where he is. So I thought, "How about we have the bad guy walk right up to them, and make his intentions perfectly clear."

Part 6: In this part, The Boss goes out of his way to humiliate Katie.

Dad looked the man over, and shook his head no.

“No, this isn't gonna work,” He said allowed. He sounded as though he wanted the guard by the elevator to hear him. Dad then walked over to the door, and motioned him over with a look of concern on his face. The guard let out a huff, and walked over.

“What do you want?” He asked, in a gruff tone.

“I need more supplies. What we have right now isn't working,” Dad told him.

“Not a chance. No one is to leave the room,” The guard insisted. Dad glared at him.

“Do you want him to die in there? Where you not listening to what your Boss and I discussed?” Dad asked him. The man let out another huff, and took hold of his radio.

“Rem, one of those Medic Guys wants to talk to you,” The guard told him.

“Gimmie a sec,” Mr. Remington replied.

Within a minute or so, we heard the elevator ding, and the doors opened up to reveal Mr. Remington inside. He seemed to look more annoyed than anything else as he walked over. Everyone in the room flinched when they saw him again.

“What's so important?” He asked.

“I need access to a med kit or something, what we have here isn't enough,” Dad explained to him. Much to my surprise Mr. Remington grinned.

“As long as Greg here goes with ya,” He said. He seemed surprisingly reasonable all of a sudden. He then looked around the room, and finally saw me. My body temperature dropped another few degrees when his eyes fell on me. I also saw Dad tensing up, as he walked over. I stood my ground.

“What do you want with me?” I asked, getting to the point, and not beating around the bush.

“It'll be a while before we get the safe open, and I'm quite attracted to shiny objects,” He told me. My eyes flared with anger, as did Dad's. “Why don't you come down stairs, and keep me company,” He then suggested.

“Excuse me?” Dad inquired. Mr. Remington gave him a sick smile.

“You think I didn't see the way you looked at her?” He asked him. Dad could only blink. “I need her to make sure you don't do anything stupid,” Mr. Remington told him. He then gestured for me to leave ahead of him. I looked back at Dad briefly who now looked very worried, but still nodded slightly. I nodded back. I sighed, and gave the man a glare as I passed him.

One of his buddies then grabbed me, and marched me downstairs to the safe where a piece of drilling equipment was being set up by another man. The Goon holding me then threw me down to the floor, and against a wall.

“You Jerk!” I yelled at him. He just snarled at me, and left. I knew fighting was a big no-no. Not just for myself, but for a lot of other people as well. This was going to be a rough one. Normally we're the only ones we needed to be worried about. This time we had a whole bunch of other bystanders to worry about as well.

“Now then my dear,” The Boss said, as he came down to join me. I quickly rose to my feet. “Hey hey, no need for that,” He then said, as he surprisingly held his gun up, and away from me. I calmed myself a bit. “How about we get to know each other just a bit better, huh?”

“I'll pass, thanks,” I retorted back.

“That's quite rude you know,” He snarled back, with his gun pointed at me. I'll admit, I was scared, but I was determined not to show it. “How about we just exchange names then. You may call me Mr. Remington,” the Boss said.

“Okay,” I said, flatly.

“You gonna tell me your name, or do I have to pry it outta ya?” He asked. I sighed.

“Katie,” I mumbled.

“Katie huh, nice name,” He said, he then looked at me with a look of slight confusion. “What does that say?” He then asked. I looked to see that he was talking about my T-shirt. My Jacket was halfway zipped up, and he was able to make out a bit of it. I unzipped my jacket all the way, and showed him the phrase on my shirt. “Huh, you think that's funny do ya?” He asked me. I just shrugged.

“I thought it was amusing,” I said. He glared at me.

“I don't find it very amusing,” He spat back.

“Well, I'm sorry you feel that way,” I snarled. Then it happened.

“Take that shirt off,” He demanded. My eyes went wide enough to pop out.

“Excuse me?!” I almost shrieked. He then put his gun right on my forehead.

“You hard-a-hearing? I said take it off,” He then growled at me. I glared right back at him, but it was either remove my shirt, or he removes my life. I then started to unzip my jacket. Thankfully he stood back a bit to give me some room. (Or maybe it was to get a better view.)

I took my jacket off, and then I very cautiously removed my T-shirt to reveal my white bra underneath. (By the way, just saying this now: No, it doesn't go further then this.) I saw him take in a breathe, and nod in an approving manner.

“Very lovely,” He said. I felt my face turning red from embarrassment. I folded my arms in front of me to try to look somewhat casual about this, but to also preserve what dignity I still had left. “Uh uh, there's no need for that,” He stated.

“No need for what?” I asked, through clenched teeth.

“Clark, if you would assist the lady,” He said.

“What?” I asked. The only other person I saw with us right now was the guy working the drill for the safe. Apparently I was wrong as I felt a pair of hands on my arms. “Wha-get off me!” I demanded, as I struggled to break free.

“Don't!” Mr. Remington said. I stopped struggling, and glared at him. The Man holding me, Clark I guess, took hold of both my wrists, and yanked them behind my back. He then bound them together with what felt like duct tape. I winced, as it seemed that Clark was going out of his way to make it as painful as he could.

“You Bastard!” I barked, with nothing but loathing in my eyes.

“I don't think that's very lady like at all Dearie,” Mr. Remington said, clearly enjoying what he was seeing.

“Ask m-hhh mph h cmmr,” I tried to snap, but Clark had placed a piece of tape on my mouth. He then wrapped more tape around my head, and over my mouth, until he was satisfied that I was thoroughly gagged. He at least had the decency to hold onto my ponytail as he did his work.

Once he was done, he then pushed me to the ground on my knees. I gave him a quick glare, and then turned my glare up to Mr. Remington. I had never felt so humiliated.

“That's much better,” He said, and then started walked towards me. I instinctively started crawling backwards as well as my bound hands would allow me.

I crawled until I hit a wall. All I could do now was pray. I was completely at his mercy, and already knew he had very little. He knelt down right in front of me. I brought my knees up to my chest in a defensive manner. I was breathing very heavily now, and now my eyes had a flicker of fear in them as well as fury.

"Dnnt ymm dmmr!" I snarled at him, as my eyes flared over my gag. I was equal parts furious and embarrassed. Mr. Remington humphed a bit, and stood up.

“Why don't I give you a minute to cool off, and then we can have a nice talk,” He suggested, and then walked away to have a chat with the guy at the drill. Deep down I swore to myself I was going to make that Son of a Bitch pay for this humiliation. Dad's side of things went much better for him. [Oh, there you are.]

[Yeah, I'll take over for now.]

Thank you for the feedback. Truth be told, I intended this scenario to be it's own story, but "Spring break" was kinda short, and I didn't know how to extended it, so I thought I'd tack this on here.

Part 7: In this part, Domino's fall down.

---- Jeff ----

So, yeah, as you can imagine, I was pretty upset about Katie being taken away from me. Mr. Remington gave me a smirk, before heading down stairs as well. The idea of My Daughter being alone with that troll made my skin crawl. That only left Greg. He had a gun in one hand, and a beer in the other. That was something I could work with.

“Well, come on, let's get this over with,” He snarled, and motioned me forward with his gun.

The two of us searched down a couple hallways until we found a sink area, and a bathroom. I then began opening some drawers.

“Ah, here we go,” I said, and pulled out a small med kit. I opened it, and began searching through it. I then sighed, and shook my head. A motion that most people are drawn to.

“What is it?” The Goon asked me, right on que.

“This kit doesn't have any gauze in it,” I stated. “Can you help me search the other drawers?” I then asked. The man let out a huff.

“Fine,” He grumbled. He then set his beer down on the counter, and opened a cupboard door. He was now focused on finding gauze, and not on what I was doing. With his head buried in the drawer he was oblivious to the fact that I had just enough time to slip a pain killer into his beer. We all know what that does, right? It wasn't a heavy dose, so he wouldn't be in severe danger, but it was enough to spark a reaction.

Once that was done, I pulled out the gauze that was in fact in the kit, and opened another drawer to look through it.

“Ah, here we go,” I said, as I had pretended to pull the gauze out. “Let's head back now,” I then added. Greg nodded, grabbed his drink, and took a gulp on our way back to the Party Room, as Mr. Remington called it.

“Okay, Dale, I need you to apply pressure right here,” I told him, and he did so. I took some gauze off the roll, and applied some rubbing alcohol to it. “This is gonna hurt,” I said firmly to the man. He nodded, and braced himself. He then let out several cries of pain, as I applied the dampened gauze to the wound.

“Let me reposition myself here,” Dale then said, and adjusted accordingly. I then pulled out some tweezers that were in the kit. After a little fiddling, and some more yelling, I was able to remove the bullet.

“Success,” I said aloud, and set the bullet in a small container. No doubt Dale would want that for evidence later. Everyone in the room gave us a small round of applause.

“We're not done yet,” Dale then said. I nodded at him, and we started up the next part: Patching him up.

* * * *

Dale and I spent the next thrifty minutes or so trying to invent a makeshift bandage for our patient. We knew we'd need to get him to a hospital soon though. That's when we heard this from the hallway,

“What the hell?!” A man yelled.

“First domino down,” I mumbled, and Dale smiled at me. We then saw another man race into the room.

“You two! Out here, now!” He barked. Dale and I both shrugged, and followed him out of the room, and over to the elevator. Greg was sitting up against the wall, and looked like someone who had just been hit with a fever.

“What happened?” I asked, in a firm tone, trying to convey sympathy.

“I don't know. I found him like this,” The man told us. “I tried to talk to him, but I only got out a few mumbles.”

“Dale, get the kit,” I ordered.

“Right,” Dale replied, and went back to get the kit. I then pretended to look Greg over while waiting. He arrived back quickly enough.

“Okay, you take his temperature while I check his pulse,” I instructed. I then realized I needed help. Help that only Greg's partner could provide.

“Mr. I need your help,” I stated, and gave him a pleading look. He hesitated. I then applied some pressure. “Either help me, or find me someone who will,” I insisted. The man got on his knees with me, and set his gun down.

“What do you need?” He asked.

“I need you to grip his wrist as tight as you can,” I instructed. I turned to grab the Blood Pressure Monitor from the med kit, and I saw Dale pulling a dirty trick of his own. Once he saw me looking, he motioned for me to keep making noise. You see, he was actually swapping out the clip on his gun with the one in the Goon's gun. Now then Class, let me ask you a question. What do you think will happen when you fire a gun that's loaded with the wrong ammo?

“Okay, I hope this thing doesn't take too long!” I said, rather loudly. I was trying keep up the sense of urgency, and also mask the noise Dale would likely make when performing his trick.

“I just need to check a few more things!” I said, loudly again. His partner hovering over me, while Dale now inserted the thermometer.

“Those things do not cooperate,” He grunted, as he inserted it into Greg's mouth. We then waited for a bit.

“Anything?” The man asked us, a few minutes later.

“Near as I can tell, he has some liver problems,” I stated. I then motioned to his beer. Greg's Partner picked up his gun, and the beer.

"I told him to lay off of this stuff!" He growled. He then took the beer to the sink to dump it out. A few minutes later however, he came out with an angry look on his face.

“What is this?” He asked, as he was holding up the half dissolved pill.

“How should I know?” I asked. Greg then pointed his gun at me.

“You think I'm stupid? You think I don't know sabotage when I see it?” He asked. With as much malice as he could muster, he pulled the trigger, and the gun blew up in his hand. He let out a scream in pain, and Dale and I knew what we had to do. We went over to him, to patch up his hand.

A minute or so later, we heard the elevator door ring, and open to reveal our next victim. He saw that we had already removed the pieces of his gun from his hand, and had bandaged it up.

“So that's why they hadn't reported,” He stated. “What happened?”

“He thinks we sabotaged his friend here, and then tried to shoot us,” I explained.

“He had in fact loaded his gun with the wrong ammo,” Dale then added in. The New Man then walked over to Dale, given that he was closer.

“And how do I know this isn't a lie?” he asked. Unfortunately for him, we'd finally leveled the playing field enough that we could break our cover. With a swift motion, I swatted his gun out of his hand, knocked him to the ground, and applied pressure to his neck to knock him out.

“That went well,” Dale complimented.

“Where did you learn to be so sneaky and underhanded?” I asked him. Dale snorted.

“From you and Robert. It's the soul area in which the two of you excel,” My Friend answered.

“You're too kind,” I said back. We both grinned, grabbed the guns, and made our way back to the Party Room.

“Alright everyone. Good news,” I announced. “We've taken down three of them, and that should be enough for us to get you all out of here.”

“Oh thank God,” The Manager said.

“Dale will escort you out,” I then said.

“What about you?” One man asked me.

“I have to go find My Daughter,” I replied.

“Alright, everyone listen up!” Dale stated, as I left the room. I was now praying for Katie's safety. Speaking of Katie, I need to turn this back over to her now. Until next time everyone.

I really can't wait to see what's going to happen next. As always great continuation.

The parts involving Jeff and Dale are always my favourite, so thanks for this. Excellent update, can't wait for the next one.

My goal with Jeff, Robert, and Dale was to have a few Good Guys with a bag full of dirty tricks, and I have had a lot of fun writing his parts. "Loose Ends" still has my personal favorites.

I'll give you a clue as to what is going to happen next: I'm going to combine two highly favored elements into one scene.

Part 8: in this part, Katie beats an opponent with both hands tied behind her back...literally.

----Katie----

So yeah, Mr. Remington left me bound and gagged up against the wall while he left to go talk to his guy at the drill. I couldn't really make out what they were saying, but it must have been good news, since Mr. Remington gave him a nod. He then looked around some of the offices for a bit.

While my bonds were something I could easily escape from, I didn't want to risk Him, or the Drill guy spotting me. I thought about using the noise of the drill as cover, but it seemed every time he'd start it up, Mr. Remington was back to watch over things. I just sighed at my situation. I was hoping Dad was having better luck than I was.

My thoughts had to be put on hold, as Mr. Remington lost interest in the drill, and reacquired interest in me. As he walked over, I held my knees up to my chest.

“Now, are you ready to be nice?” He asked me, as he took a knee beside me. I glared at him.

“Fnnn,” I sighed, with a nod. “Mvnn thmmm ymm dnnt dmsrmm mh.”

“I knew you'd warm up to me,” He mocked, and then began removing the tape from my mouth. Once it was off, I rubbed my lips against my knee. “What, not a single thank you?” He asked.

“Thanks,” I mumbled, in response.

“I suppose it could have been worse,” He mumbled back. He then looked me over. “Put your knees down,” He then requested. With a heavy huff, I let my knees slump down. He then nodded at me in an approving manner. This actually made me feel worse, cause I knew what he was looking at.

“You have a lovely-”

“Hey Boss!” The Drill Guy interrupted.

“You better be through!” Mr. Remington growled, as he got up, and then walked over to the safe. Sure enough, the Drill guy opened up the door to the safe to reveal it's contents. He looked very pleased with the outcome of this.

“We'll need everyone down here,” Mr. Remington said.

“What about the Hostages?” The Drill Guy questioned. Mr. Remington smirked at him.

“They're coming down too, as they are going into the safe once we're ready to leave,” He answered. I felt my blood boiling now.

“Are you sure that's a good idea?” The Drill Guy asked. Evidently he had some small spark of morality.

“They've seen our faces. They die!” Mr. Remington barked. I couldn't believe it. Granted I actually should have expected it. I was so angry that I could barely think straight. We should have fought back in the first place.

“Please Dad,” I mumbled to myself, as I was praying he was successful. Mr. Remington then pulled out his radio.

“Greg,” He said into it. He then waited. There was no response. “Greg, Martin,” He then said. Again, no response. My spirit was lifting again. No response could mean only one thing. I was now trying to suppress a smile. “Go upstairs, and find out what those idiots are up to,” Mr. Remington ordered. He then turned to me again.

“If you think I'm going in that safe, you can forget it,” I stated firmly. Much to my surprise, Mr. Remington snickered a bit.

“I'm not putting you in the safe, Love,” He told me. I blinked at him. “You're a lovely young Bird, and you'll need a good new home,” He then explained. My eyes were now wide.

“You wouldn't!” I snarled. Mr. Remington pointed his gun at me.

“Stand up!” He ordered. I sighed, and did my best to stand up given that my hands being bound behind my back, and all that. I had to use the wall to support myself. “Good, now come over to me like a good little Pet,” He demanded.

That was it for me. I wasn't going to take it anymore. I was now looking around the area. I noticed that the door to the room was still open, so that was my target. I took my time reaching him. I had nothing but cold fury in my eyes, and he had nothing but smugness in his. That was about to change in a big hurry.

As I walked towards him, I readied myself. If I messed this up, I was in very deep trouble. I continued to walk, and once I was in range, I let loose my plan. I very swiftly kicked his gun hand, and it fell to the floor. Before he could react, I thrust my foot into his chest, and sent him to the floor as well. I knew he'd be back up in second or two, so I took that time to kick the gun through the open door, and out of the room.

“You'll pay for that!” Mr. Remington growled at me.

“Come get some you Son of a Bitch!” I growled back. Now then, a few of my breathing exorcises involve me holding my hands behind my back, so that was the stance I took as he approached me. The tape on my wrists continuously reminded me that I only had my feet to work with.

Mr. Remington threw a punch at my face. I dodged to the side, and used my momentum to spin, and catch him on the side of his face with the back of my right heel. He didn't go down, but he knew he was no longer dealing with an ordinary hostage.

Mr. Remington actually did take note of this. He was taking his time before he approached me again. I kept him at a safe distance, so that if he made a mistake, I'd get in a good hit. He threw a quick punch which I kicked away. He then feinted with a punch, which made me flinch a bit. I ducked out of the way, and swung another kick at his face. Unfortunately, he caught me this time.

“Gotcha!” He stated proudly, as he held a firm grip on my leg. His victory was short lived however, as I sprung off my other foot, and clocked him on the side of his head again. Both of us went to the floor this time. In my attempt to get back to my feet, I took another swing at his chin.

Mr. Remington appeared to be quite rattled, as he was now stumbling to get back to his feet. His face looked pretty bruised too. Once he was on his feet, he stood in a fighting position. He looked about as furious as I was. He was now swinging a bit more wildly. I just dodged out of the way, and let him wear himself out a bit.

He took another swing which I dodged, and then punished with a kick to his hand. I then kicked his other hand away for good measure with my other foot. I finished my combo with a thrust to his chest again. He groaned in pain, as he dropped to his knees, and held onto his chest and face. He then looked up at me.

I tried to come up with some witty one-liner, but I was too upset to think of one, so I just finished the job. I gave him one more kick to his face, and he fell to the floor. He was still breathing, but he was in very bad shape.

“Oh my,” A voice behind me said. I spun around to see Dad, and Officer Peterson standing in the doorway with guns in their hands. I now had a look of relief on my face, although I was still panting heavily. Dad then noticed my shirt on the floor. He then looked back at me with his eyebrows raised.

“Katie?” He asked me. I glared at him.

“It wasn't my idea!” I snapped at him. He just nodded, and walked over to me. He undid the tape on my wrists, and once my hands were free, the first thing I did was put my shirt back on.

“Katie, did you-?” Dad now asked, with a grin, as he was examining what was left of Mr. Remington.

“Yeah, I beat him with both hands tied behind my back,” I stated proudly. Dad tossed his gun away, and clapped his hands, as he walked over to me. He then embraced me in a hug. A new sound flooded the room, as several Police Men had entered, and were now peeling Mr. Remington off the floor. Officer Peterson then pulled out his badge.

“You had one with you the whole time, Pal,” He proudly stated, before slapping the cuffs on him, and reading off his Miranda Rights.

Heh, I had a feeling that Katie wouldn't let anyone call her a "pet" and get away with it. Thanks for proving me right.

Yeah, I really wanted a scene where Katie would be tied up, but also kick the snot out of someone at the same time. I made Mr. Remington a Slime Ball to make it all the more satisfying. Also, one more note. This Robbery was actually supposed to be it's own story, but Spring Break was a bit too short for my liking, so I decided to tack it on here.
