Hooray for New York!!

I'm proud of my home state's progressive politics, especially when it comes to fair and equal treatment for gays and lesbians. FINALLY, New York has followed suit by leagalizing gay marriage. Way to go! Another defeat for bigots and haters hiding behind the thin veil of "protecting traditional family values."

And.... now we can add Little Rhody to the list. Civil unions aren't a perfect option, but it's a step in the right direction. Yay! Haters are dropping like flies!

It's a shame my own state dropped the ball on this one a couple of years ago. Hopefully now the tide is finally turning for *real* civil rights.

I suspect that Maine will take the plunge eventually.... it's just a bit more conservative than the rest of New England.
