They have no mouths, but they can speak;
They have no eyes, but they can see;
They have no ears, but they can hear;
They have no noses, but they can smell.

Hello Kimmi

I'm surprised that no one has responded to your Doctor Who comment. I have seen every episode going back to the start in 1967 and don't recall any faceless monsters. Maybe you're thinking of when Rose lost her face in The Idiots Lantern episode?

There is an old episode from 1970 in which the aliens animated plastic and made mannequins come to life. Their faces are quite smooth but they are not really faceless.

I tried to get both of my daughters to watch the Doctor when they were your age and they weren't interested. Now that they are older they are both big fans. You are ahead of your time!

You Sir, have just committed heresy: the Doctor's adventures started in 1963 with "An Unearthly Child".

It's a mistake I make all the time. Here in Canada I did not see my first episode until 1967. It took a while for the boat to bring them here.

my apologies;

If I saw something like that, I would think I was delusional, in the Twilight Zone, or in Hell.

Hello Jason

You said "we didn't start seeing them in my neck of the woods until 1984!"

Would you be referring to when PBS started running Doctor Who late on Saturday evenings? I slept in many Sunday mornings after staying up late to watch them.

No, actually they ran here on Saturday afternoons starting at about 1 or 2 o'clock. They stayed in that time frame for nearly ten years. i remember i used to go for walks late Saturday mornings and come back home just in time to start watching Doctor Who. They started with the first season of the fourth doctor and eventually showed all the episodes of all the doctors for which they still had complete sets. Saw the early doctors pretty much in reverse order, then all the later ones right up to the end of Sylvester McCoy's run as well.
Never really liked the episodes from the last season of Tom Baker on though; too damned hard to follow and pretty dull much of the time. Too much exposition, too little action, and I never dug Colin Baker's version of the doctor at all (always seemed kind of psychotic to me). So to this day i barely remember any other than the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker episodes, even though i saw them all.
They eventually ran some segments late on Saturday nights, but that was years later and wasn't a steady thing.
At least, not on the stations I caught it on.
I've never saw the ones that started in 2005 or so at all.
