Foreign language selection:
Family Guy - I'm amazed how much filth, left-wing satire and political incorrectness they get past the Fox organisation. Favourite quote: Math (sic) is the lesbian sister of biology. Bloody hilarious in context and great when I, as a maths teacher, shared it with a lesbian colleague who missed the show. Admittedly, certain of our Xian colleagues were a bit po-faced!
Malcolm in the Middle - More than just one-thread plots. Dewey rules! What an evil little £$%^!
And, in the English Language:
Doctor Who - even if they do have a child playing the Doctor and are making the plots far too complex. What happened to good story telling with the occasional shock? Who is old enough to remember the "Death of Time" when Sarah Kingdom got it? Those primitive FX's gave us a scene well ahead of what should have been acceptable at the time. And the greatest ham-fest of all: when Adrick died. I played a festival gig following that weekend wearing what I told the audience were my e-space mourning beads. Christ, I'm old! Good gig, though.
Sherlock - superb update of Conan-Doyle's characters. That's from someone who hates the Adrian C-D stories. I wonder if the excellent writers have been too clever for their own good. No. Of course not.
