Kidnapping...

Postby just4fun » Tue Oct 11, 2011 6:32 pm

Has anyone ever heard a story about someone being kidnapped and tortured on the news or something and then kinda felt guilty for likeing TUGs cause we do it for fun- but others are forced into bondage.....just curious your thoughts

To me the two things are entirely unrelated so no i don't feel guilty about it.

You raise an issue that I have not totally resolved in my own mind.
Like Chris, I don’t feel guilt because of the huge difference between consensual and non-consensual/forced bondage and torture. At the risk of being incredibly trite and insensitive, I could liken it to the difference between being on a strict diet and seeing news images of starving children.
However, I confess that sometimes I get “turned on” when I read or see a bondage story. It’s a natural, emotional reflex that’s very hard to suppress, and it resonates with the darker fantasies that most of us have. Mostly, however, it will be a story like this:

Maybe this will help.....

I'm really interested in getting tied up by a boyfriend, either for romance or just goofing off. But what I would NEVER want is to be kidnapped for real, by someone planning to do something really bad to me. There's nothing fun or sexy about that, just scary. I'd go along with a fake kidnapping by a bf, but that's totally different. In one case, I trust the guy, and I'm playing alone. In the other, I'm scared, unhappy, and in real trouble.

Getting a bit off topic for a moment, if I can refer to the newspaper article offered up by Sarobah, I think the suspension was a little harsh. The principal should have warned the students not to do something like that again, both for safety reasons and the fact that it was disruptive. The teacher said it was a free period, but they were supposed to be studying quietly. Didn't happen.
Also, the teachers should have been scolded by the principal for allowing the disturption, and going along with something that could have proved dangerous. It could have had sexual overtones for the students tying the female teacher, and that probably would not sit well with the parents. They might even have opened up the school system to a lawsuit.

However, the students shouldn't have been suspended, and other than getting a lecture, no action should have been taken against the teachers (and I know none were, at least according to the story).

Continuing the digression...
I assume the suspension was for leaving the teacher alone tied up and gagged, rather than for what happened during the lesson. If nothing else, they should get a stern lecture on TUGs safe practice.

A great question and discussion! I know what you're asking, but I'm not bothered by it. Because for me, fantasy and reality are clearly separated. This is kind of a stretch, but maybe it's similar to feeling guilty about drinking a beer when you hear about someone killed by a drunk driver. Since you're deciding to not get behind the wheel, you shouldn't feel too guilty about making a better decision than the drunk driver. If you're not kidnapping and terrorizing people for real, then I don't think you should feel too bad about playing, fantasy, etc. And clearly, none of us is alone in harboring these kinds of fantasies and ideas!

i dont feel bad abduction and tugs r intirely differrent. we just like tie ups but kidnappers r evil and want money or other stuff. the two r oppisisties as some kidnappings don't even include being tied

There's a big difference between tie-up games and somebody being kidnapped for real.

I would've loved to pull that off in school, though here it probably would've gotten me expelled and the teacher arrested for some kind of sexual harassment charges if they thought she really went along with it.

I wonder what made her go along with it in the first place.

How do you guys feel about reenactments? Like Americas most wanted or what not where they usually have a actress get tied up and what not. Remember whatever happens in the reenactment, happened in real life.

I guess this is one of those threads where we're all just agreeing with each other. I will say this though: I've read a few stories on this board (and I'm not going to cite any in particular), all in the fictional section, where the line between fantasy and reality is somewhat questionable. They usually have a female protagonist who's home is invaded or they're kidnapped or something of the like and get sexually excited by the situation. Which is absurd. If a guy invades your house and plans to take advantage of you, that isn't going to turn you on. What it's going to do is scare the hell out of you and probably damage you psychologically.

It isn't a huge deal, these are just stories, I appreciate that. But reading stuff like that, I do find somewhat... Distasteful.
There's a permanent tension in music isn't there? On one hand you have three chords, you know, four four and three chords. Then there's the people like me, who say "Well, why don't we add a fourth chord and put it in five four?" - Bill Bruford
