Prisoner in the Cellar - A 3D comicbook

Postby Jason Toddman » Sun Aug 21, 2011 8:47 pm

And now for something completely different (and what else would you expect from me, anyway?): A Tug story in a 3D comic book.
These are the first ten pages of a story I have been developing using new 3D software I have been experimenting with all this month.
TBC if there is sufficient interest.

Edit: for the unfamiliar with attachments here, these are merely thumbnails. Click on the attachment to get a full sized image.
Further edit: Some have said the pages come out too large. Although I can click on the images twice to make the page fit the screen size and/or use a zoom in/out function, apparently other viewers cannot. So I have posted the pages in a smaller format a bit further down; scroll down and you'll see a later post with the same pages but with smaller fullview sizes.
I have now created a poll to ask which size looks better to you.

It looks very good. I´d like to see more of this.
That the boys are a bit ax crazy is also nice. They remind me of the two guys in the movie "Funny Games", even though the two in the comic seem to enjoy the situation a lot more.

What you are seeing are basically just large thumbnails; not the full-sized images. They're not meant to be viewed themeselves but clicked on to get full sized pics.
If you click directly on the attachment images, they become much larger and easier to read. A second click and the images literally fill my screen!!! So much so that I have to scroll around the page, and evenI can read the words without my glasses, and I am VERY nearsighted!!!

Is it just me or does anyone else get only HUGE and subsequently indistinct results when they click on the thumbnais?
I ask because it woud be a pity if people were put off reading Jason's work.

I second that!!!
My computer/browser can give me two sizes for the image; and that's without the zoom feature my browser uses (which can give me whatever size I want between 1% to over 1000% in one step or in as small as 1% increments if I wish). If other people are having trouble reading these because the're too large and don't have zoom in/out fnctions, I'll bump down the resolution so that the images become smaller. But since my browser shows an intermediate size anyway if I click a second time, I hadn't thought there was a problem.

Edit: does this size work better for people?

Okay. Let's try this again. I've damped down the file sizes to make the pages smaller, but rather than replace the earlier ones I have reposted them here.
Remember, click on the attachment to bring the picture up to full size.
Please everyone tell me which picture size looks better to you - this or the larger ones from earlier - and I'll stick with the winning format from here on.

the first size worked perfectly for me. I viewed it on my tablet and all the big ones fit the screen just right. I needed to scroll up and down but that is how it should be

WOW! WOW! Did I mention WOW? I prefer the larger size. If I were to print them out the woukd be much better, as they would if I viewed them on my 47 inch TV, which I probably will.

Yes. You have to go with the majority.

Anyone else who has the same problem (pages too wide for screen) can always catch up on Jason's DeviantArt page where he writes as Magnaman1234.

Well, I guess there's no point trying to continue *this* thread... or any others where I post pictures. What's the point when they get deleted every time they archive files? :-(
Edit: Zanev says he fixed it so that new pictures can be pllaced here, even if the old ones don't show up. So I'll test this.
Nope. Still no good.
Latewr edit: Ah! Ther, that's better. Now I can rock on.

Here is the rest of it. Had hoped for more feedback but I guess archiving screwed things up. Oh well.
This includes five alternate endings.

Not to be a critic or anything but it's just too violent and I didn't like it for several reasons one is because u put DEATH in the story

Only as an alternate ending; not my own particular preference either.
Don't worry though; most of my stories don't get *that* violent; I'm no great fan of that myself. It was requested by a reader at the other site where I posted this first.
