I have always been of the opinion that Murphy's Law applies, especially in TUG's. "If anything can go wrong, it WILL go wrong, usually at the worst possible moment." I also believe that Murphy was an optimist.
It's very easy to be unable to get sufficient air, when your hands and feet are tied or taped, and an open shoe is taped or tied over your mouth and nose. Yeah, I know it's exciting and thrilling, but it's something you do, only when someone is with you at all times, and you have a signal, like three taps on the floor with your feet, if you need to be untied.
If you are going to err, do it on the side of caution.
