That photo really reminds me of this photo for some reason:

To anyone wondering, the woman in the photo is the famous actress Summer Glau. (One of my favorite actresses too.)
If you want some information about her, here is a link to her Wikipedia page: Summer Glau

Woot! Glad to know there's another Browncoat on here. I could literally watch that scene from Terminator for hours and not get tired of watching it. Summer's dancing puts me in a trance. She's such an excellent dancer!

Having always been a big lumbering clod my entire life i've always admired (and envied) people who are able to do professional dance; just for their agility and athleticism rather than any actual interest in dance per se. It takes a lot of skill and even more work to be a professional dancer. in fact, anyone who thinks that any guy into ballet is a pansy is a complete idiot; those guys are effing strong!!

I hope he doesn't mind being considered one of the girls... or are boys less sexist and more enlightened these days than I thought? Those would have been considered fighting words when I was growing up - a long, long time ago in what sometimes seems like another world to me now!

They could always sign up to join.
Might make Conner feel better than he wasn't the only boy. Well, it'd make me feel better if i were him... not that this proves anything.
I actually gave up a dance course in college but walked away right from the first class when i discovered i was the only guy in it. And i was 19 at the time!
Well, people looked at such things differently back then. And i was never a Casanova by any stretch of the imagination.
Ever see the movie Billy Elliot? It felt like that, except i wasn't all that determined (or that good at it) and feared ridicule.

Completely unrelated but your title "Why Do I Dance?" reminded me of some lyrics to Hotel California: "Some dance to remember, I dance to forget."

I've never seen the movie but I'm always up for a new one. Conner, well if we had to pick a movie for him, it's be Perks of Being a Wallflower!

"This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive, and you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song and that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment I swear, we are infinite."

1. As long as he's happy with what he is doing, that's the only thing that should matter. No one who can do ballet can be a wimp; it's too physically demanding from what I've heard.
2. You and he might both like the movie Billy Elliot. It's a British movie about a boy whose father wants him to learn boxing but he's more interested in ballet, which makes many people (including himself) question his manliness and even his sexuality. It's well worth seeing. I'm not sure but i think it's supposed to be based on a true story.
