Go read up stuff from people like Joseph Stiglitz and Ha-Joon Chang. No country has progressed with actual free trade and market only policy.

If I was able to vote in the USA it would be for the Democrats, I can not support a party that thinks that gay people are scum. Just look at what the republican candidate for governor of New York said on the weekend.

This is of course one of the greatest weaknesses of the two-party system. Especially lately, the two parties have been getting more and more extreme in their views (and growing furether apart) with no room for moderates, which most everyday people generally tend to be (at least those I know here in Maine). As far as I know though, Maine is the only state that actually has a viable middle-ground third (Independent) party. At least, I never heard of such a party winning the governorship in any other state or sending people to Congress. I think it's time that changed, as I think both Dem and Republican politicians alike are out of touch with everyday people and their concerns.

If you don't mind my asking, what is it about Tea Party candidates that specifically appeals to you?
