Where to buy 'toys' and such

Postby josh » Fri Oct 01, 2010 11:45 pm

So living under a strict mom who has no idea about what i'm into and like, gathering toys and even rope for that matter is difficult to do, let alone find it.

this post is for people to share where they get supplies they have
so people like me might actually have a chance at getting some 'under the mom radar'

Most 'toys' like ropes, tape, attachment points and chains you can find at any hardware store. Believe it or not, you can (or at least could years ago) buy genuine handcuffs (not police quality perhaps but usable, and without the safety catches) at Toys 'R' Us. At least, *I* did back in the lates 1980's to early 1990's; this may have changed now though. With a little inventiveness you can create your own bondage toys out of ordinary hardware goods (like spreader bars made from brooms and duct tape if you're not too fussy). When I was an adolescent I had a friend who turned an ordinary sleeping bag into a crude but reasonably effective sleepsack and hand-made his own bondage devices from ordinary building supplies! of course, those might be a trifle difficult to hide unless you have your own reasonably private treehouse like he did!

As for the mom radar, that's a different matter and differs from person to person. If you live in your own house in the suburbs or the country (as opposed to a rented apartment unit crowded inside a building with a bunch of others inside a city) you can probably hide your stuff in your own backyard or somewhere nearby where no one else (least of all your mom) ever goes (a situation I was fortunate enough to have as a teenager). Any hiding place outside the house but close enough to be readily accessible to you would probably do; hidden by a tree or behind some bushes perhaps (at least in good weather). Of course it helps if you know your mom's (and dad's and siblings too) habits enough to know where they go or never go; no one else can likely help you in more than a general way as far as hiding stuff is concerned - whether it's Tugs supplies or pot or something else. Just pick a spot that cannot be traced back to *you*, so even if they're found by someone else you're in the clear.

If you get handcuffs that have the safety latch a good way to make them feel more real is to duct tape the latch to wear you cant click it to release yourself or whoever you cuffed up.

I know that at some places like rite aid, they have a small toy section, i always see a pair of cuffs on the rack there with the safety clips, usually about $8 and you can file or sand off the safety buttons, as for mom, they are pretty small, if you have a closet, put it all the way in the back, or in the pocket of a coat she never takes down

For Haloguy, i bought a pair at a CVS pharmacy and i used the wire cutters so cut off the latches, it has worked for me so far pretty well. maybe try that, its easy and effective.

And for finding rope which is what i have the hardest time getting, at places i see rope its like boat rope so it comes in like 200 ft strands. and cutting it will make it unravel over time so i am looking for a place to buy shorter strands.

If anyone knows plz let me know. thanks for the ideas Jason.

Most hardware stores will be able to cut you any length of rope you want. I would buy a hundred feet or so and then cut it into a number of more manageable lengths. You can even buy clothesline at most grocery stores. When I was younger I found a length of chain and a few padlocks to be very versatile. I hate to admit it, but I swiped the chains from two swings at a local park when I was about 13 or so.

You can buy clothesline a mere quarter inch thick in 50 or 100 foot coils at many supermarkets; I used to do so. Probably most pharmacies too. Just look in the sections where they display non-food items like batteries and flashlights or office supplies; that's usually where they are. One place near where I live sells clothesline right beside the laundry detergent.

To stop the rope fraying either bind the end with twine or melt it. Even very small cable ties can be used and then cut off.

to follow up on Snowbound, you can get chains at any local hardware store too. and, you can ask them to cut them in the lengths you want. the padlocks you can get there or at a drug store. as for rope, you can prevent the fraying by using duct tape and wrapping it around the ends. duct tape can be purchased anywhere....and bandannas can be found at Target or K-Mart.

you might also check out Spencers gifts in any shopping Mall. they have cuffs and things too. as for hiding it out of the way of the parental unit, a corner of your closet or the top shelf of the closet or if you have ceiling tiles in your basement, you can hide it up above in one of them. or maybe in the attic above the garage in a corner again where no one really looks.

good luck!

another word from me, if you want to buy something from a store, do not be nervous about what the people at the register will think of you (unless you know them). because they most likely do not know you, and it is their job to sell you things, I had a summer job working at a general store in my town, and people were buying the strangest of things, and some embarrassing things, I never thought any less of them

Thanks guys for the all the help thus far.
I am a big ducttape guy and make alot of
things out of ducttape including wallets.
i am ashamed i never thought to use it to hold
the rope bindings together.
So thank you Danny for that idea.

I've looked at spencers and got fuzzy cuffs
there, unfortunetly they were of extremely
poor quality so i ended up buying a five dollar
pair form the drug store in the toy section
and just putting the fuzzies on those and its
worked out amazing so far.

So now i can just buy long strands of rope and
not be afraid to cut it myself. I also hagve a
few bandanas that if i can find will come in
handy (their burried in my closet somewhere as
i am sure we all have something that is)

Well well, this threat has tunred out mighty
handy. Thank you all very much for all the
help with this.

Now i just have 1 last thing i need...
SOMEONE TO TIE UP!! lol

You and me both pal! I haven't have a good Tug in almost as many years as you've been alive, if your profile is correct.
I'd volunteer to tie you if you'd do the same for me, except you live about as far away from me as it is possible to while living in the Continental US! You're in California and I'm in Maine - the very farthest state away from *any* part of California save (I believe) Hawaii.
Hopefully you can find a good Tug Buddy closer to your area (and closer to your age too). Good luck with that.

Hmmm.... I don't know, Anjell. Ordinary rope is cheaper than a jump rope would be, and they aren't going to look at you funny if you buy ordinary rope anywhere. But a GUY buying a JUMP ROPE?... There is a definite giggle factor in THAT one!

Just saying if he wanted to hide it, a jump rope do not stand out as much as a pile of random rope.

Damn 8$? Ive never seen toy cuffs more than 5 bucks and that was at a halloween store. And usually there 3 bucks.

Please don't take this as belittling Anjell, because it isn't meant to be, but... a jumprope? In a guy's closet? Are you serious?!
He might be able to explain away a normal rope (I'm learning to tie knots like a boy scout, mom! It's for an arts and crafts project at school that got cancelled, mom!) if found with it, but a jump rope?! That'd be a good idea for a girl, but a teenaged boy? No way!!! Not unless it was one of those types sports jocks occasionally use, and not unless Josh happens to be one himself (he ain't gonna fool his own mom for a second if he isn't - especially if asked to use it to jump!). I'd much sooner take a chance with regular clothesline, which is easier to hide (less garish color than most jumpropes *I've* seen), easier to explain if found, and lots cheaper anyway!
Incidentally Josh, if you have any interest in arts and crafts at all, learn at least the basics of how to make things involving rope. That way you improve your rope tying/weaving skills, and your mom won't question why the hell you have rope around if you're seen with it! You wouldn't even have to hide it then! You'd accomplish two worthwhile Tugs goals at the same time! For instance, by age 16 I developed a sudden interest in making rope baskets for hanging potted plants. It fooled *my* mom completely!

LOL see now that the type of thinking that works. You want to get things that would be normal for you to have (what would be normal is different for every one). For me i had lodes of jump ropes growing up (seemed every easter some people would give me one or more) even thou i never had a normal use for them no one ever asked questions. I never worry about hiding any thing. For example my handcuffs are hanging on the wall next to my door, i hang my keys on them. I even used thumb cuffs for a key chain for a wile.

I like the jump rope idea as it can probably be found in multiple lengths. Ok so maybe a guy having a jumprope in his closet sounds a little funny but if you honestly use it (for its intended uses) on a atleast weekly basis its cleared as an excuse.

Thumbcuffs for a keychain?!? i like that idea!!

although the best i can get for those are the little kid verzions that police hand out for fun when they do a booth at a convetnion or whatever.

now a single peice authentic pair of thumb/toe cuffs.. i'll work on getting those later. haha
thanks for the offers to jason and dany, i've only done girls befoire and prefere them but its the sentiment that counts right? so thanks guy.

and ya, i havent seen $8 handcuffs yet, i live in California and tax here isnt the worst but it is bad.
and here they kid ones in a pharmacy store are only $5.

How old are you?

If you are 12-18, your best bet is to go to Toys R US and get toy handcuffs, or go to appliances store, and find some duct tape, rope, and other accessories. When you turn 18+, the world is avaliable to you. You could go to Spencer's, which sells sex toys, but also handcuffs, and other restraining implements. You could order online with a personal credit card or check.

As far as your mom is concerned, you can have the orders sent to someone else house, and get them to meet up with you to hang out, and practice tying each other up with torture. Your mom is not going to be with you forever, so you need to improvise until you are older and more mature to be able to move out, and do these things in secrecy. Good Luck.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

if you read the forum, you would see that I told him that he can go to a toy store or drug store and bought a pair and cut the safety clips off, and he already said that he got some things at spencers, and that they were complete crap
