Poll - Future Storylines may be affected by results

Postby AlexUSA » Wed Jan 06, 2016 6:28 pm

The reason for this poll is for my "Winter/Autumn/Summer of Love" story. I get little to no feedback ever on this story despite the beyond imoressive number of readers (per chapter, it is one of the largest serial readerships on this site). But to spur ideas for future plots, I need you, the reader, to weigh in.

Who is your favorite major character in the stories?

Hello Alex,

I have some experience on here when it comes to readership and feedback, so there are a few things I should point out.
The viewership count on your story is relatively good, but the fact that there are no details on the title of the story can be very misleading.

Right now your story has a lot of views because there are no specifications about the genders involved in the story. To give you an example, users (like myself) who are only interested in M/M stuff, might open the story but step back upon realising that this is mainly an F/F story.

Those of us who decide not to place our stories in gender-specified sub-sections, often chose to include gender details in the story title.
This way the views you're getting are much more representative of the number of people who are actually reading and enjoying.
You get a smaller, more targeted audience.

When you don't give any specification, you'll get more views, but also a lot of people who'll just click "back" when they realise the type of story this is.

The other thing I have to tell you is that your Poll isn't functioning for me and it wasn't functioning on your story either.
Even if I was following your story, I wouldn't have been able to vote. Even now, I don't get the option to vote.
Check your poll settings.

Feedback has always been somewhat of a problem. It is discouraging to see 200 views or more, then getting less than ten comments on your work.

We all lament the lack of feedback, so much so that, in my case, I have seriously thought of giving up on the site. However, as KP Presents has written elsewhere, we probably have other reasons than responses for wanting to share our writings. Bondagefreak makes some good points and, in my opinion, you should write what YOU want to write; you will then be more committed to it and will write better. Another snag with asking for suggestions is that you will get the same predictable suggestions from the same (only too predictable) correspondents.

Personally, I am trying to make sure that I always leave at least two comments a day (seems like a small target but it should be achievable) not related to being a mod. That will be at least two members who might not think they are being ignored.

For me, I was hoping to gauge which characters in the story are developed. I like to try to spread the "attention" on my different characters here.
