NOTE: Well, "only" 5 months after the previous chapter, after which I'm sure many had presumed I had given up, I have finally had the time and willpower to write the next chapter. Hopefully, I should have more time now to post updates more frequently. Anyway, part 3...
Part 3 - The Woman
Jay thought about calling the police, but decided she needed some clothing first, to protect her modesty if anything. Luckily, Simon's house was not far away, and decided that Claire wouldn't mind if he gave this woman some of her clothes, given the circumstances, and set off for Simon and Jay's house. Jay meanwhile tried to get some information from her - name, age, more importantly how she found herself in this state. She was quiet, and still scared, but Jay seemed to get the feeling that she was willing to trust this stranger, perhaps more because she didn't really have any other choice.
J: We're going to my brother's house, okay? I can find you some clothes there, I'll call the police soon after.
The woman nodded. Jay accepted this response, he realised he wasn't going to get a vocal response.
A short journey later, they arrived at the house. Jay knew where the spare key was hidden, and quickly assisted the woman into the house. He showed her up to Claire's room, and told her to get dressed. She was still too scared to talk, but showed her appreciation and thanks to Jay through her eyes.
Jay then realised he needed to ring the police, but thought it wouldn't do any harm if he fed the woman first - oh how he would come to regret this decision eventually. He went down to the kitchen, closed the door (don't ask, some weird policy that Simon and Claire asked all their guests to abide by, so Jay thought he should abide by them) and make a snack for them both. Once he had finished preparing, he picked up the phone in the kitchen, intending to phone the police once he had checked up on the woman. He left the kitchen and walked upstairs to Claire's room, and was shocked at what he saw, and dropped the phone.
There was the woman, hogtied and gagged, looking up at him. And yet no one else was in sight. Bemused at first, Jay soon realised she had a stare of fear. Jay quickly ungagged her, before undoing the ropes hogtying her.
J: What's going on?
She seemed even more scared, but answered anyway to explain.
W(Woman): Your brother ...
J: Simon?
W: Yes .. him. He ... he did ... this.
J: What are you talking about?
W: Him, his company ... kidnap me .. try to torture me .... but I run away. I hide for .... many hours. Then you find me.
Jay was visibly shocked. He was still trying to process this information, and the fact that he didn't even realise Simon was about. Then he saw her face light up in terror. He turned around, and there was Simon, visibly angry.
J: What the hell is going on Simon?
S: [quietly, but with anger in his voice] I just need a little word with this lady here ...
J: Bullshit Si, what is REALLY going on? Is this why you've been so stressed out recently?
At this point, the woman used this opportunity to zoom past the brothers, and try to escape to freedom before she was captured again. She rushed down the stairs, with both brothers following her. Jay quickly went back upstairs to retrieve the phone. She got to the door handle, but her hand slipped off the handle, which gave Simon enough time to grab her back from the door. Simon was behind her, with one hand gagging her and had his other hand around her waist, securely holding her. They were now standing so they could see the door, when Jay appeared in front of them, phone in hand. Then there was silence, both brothers working what to do next.
J: I dunno what the hell is going on, but you'd better explain before I call the police ..
S: Stay out of this Jay, this is none of you business ...
J: It IS my business to help a stranger when she is trouble. Give it up Si.
S: As I said, stay out of this Jay, this is between me and her. Oh, and if you do attempt to call the police, I WILL stop you.
J: I'd like to see you try.
With that, Jay's finger slid down towards the 9. Just as he was about to press it, Si produced a pocketknife towards the lady's neck. This stopped Jay pressing the 9.
S: It seems you were serious Jay. Well, so am I. Press that number, knife into neck. Your choice Jay.
Jay reluctantly stopped, but kept hold of the phone.
S: OK then, since everything is back under control, I'm just going to go back upstairs with her, and restrain her. You meanwhile, Jay, will help, since I can't trust you to not be where I can't see you, and then we will talk. Oh, and give me the phone Jay.
Jay was about to argue again with his brother, but with the knife still held across her neck, he thought better than to do that, and complied.
They all walked up the stairs, and walked into Claire's room. Simon then managed, with the help of his (un)willing brother, to hogtie his captive with ropes, and gag her with a rolled up bandana and tape. Whilst this was ongoing, Jay was racking his mind, wondering how on earth he had got himself into this position - this position being he was unwillingly helping his brother tie up this still unknown stranger, for reasons he still does not know, whilst wondering how his brother could have turned into the character he seemed to have become. And what did this stranger say about his company? Was this to do with his stressful time he had been having at work recently?
When all was done, he signalled for Jay to go downstairs to discuss. Jay decided to have one last chance to convince Simon to change his mind, then things would get serious.
J: I dunno what the hell is going on Simon, but this is not on - this is your final warning Si, ...
S: Oh shut up little brother. You wouldn't believe it if I told you. Now, if you'll just excuse me ...
J: No, Jay I will not excuse you, this has gone far enough.
That response had convinced Jay that whatever he said, it wasn't going to change Si's mind, so he went on the offensive. He ran over to the phone by Jay, and attempted to pick it up. Si worked out what he was about to do, and they both ended up fighting over the phone. It turned out bad for Jay however- Simon pushed onto him, which meant Jay lost grip of the phone, fell backwards and hit his head on the banister. Very quickly, Jay's world went black as his encounter with the banister knocked him out, and his world would never be the same after this .....
