Tsarnaev trial: charge to jury

Blogs today, as the Judge charged the jury (page 2) shows the full many page form each juror must complete and attest in rendering their verdict.

Death? Or, life in prison?
It ain't easy. I would not want to be one of those jurors.

So how you you guys feel about his getting the death penalty... assuming they actually enforce it before he dies of old age?

It certainly isn't undeserved. As someone who doesn't quite buy that putting terrorist to death is stooping to their level i think its the right call. There is no question about his guild and he killed people for insane motives. I'm not seeing anything of value being lost.

While he may deserve the death penalty I still believe that he should be sentenced to life in prison instead. We should show him we are better than him and we should not stoop to his level, I do admit I am against it for moral reasons.

The way things are in this country he might live for decades before being executed anyway.
And that's assuming some fellow inmate doesn't kill him because part of his conviction involves the death of an 8-year-old child. People who have killed children face an especially brutal time in prison and a greatly heightened risk of dying unexpectedly and violently. LIkely he will kept in solitary to protect him from this, or getting his young butt raped as well.

Just to piss off all the anti death penalty types, I'd say "Stick a copper rod up his ass, wrap his willy with bare copper wire, then plug them in to the nearest electrical outlet. Oh,and hang a pig carcass around his neck.

Put it on Pay Per View, and use the money generated, to help the victims of the bomb he and his brother set off. Hell, I'd spend $10 to watch it.

I'm not usually a fan of the death penalty, but if there's ever a time to use it, this is that time.

You lose the right to pass judgement on anyone for being a psychopath once you start openly fantasizing about paying to watch someone get their dick electrocuted.

I agree with you both, Kyle and Misterg792000. Executions should me only for the most heinous of crimes with a 100% certainty the convicted is the guilty party, and be conducted as swiftly and as humanely as possible.

Why should we be so kind? There was nothing humane about the way his bomb killed and maimed innocent people.

Once again as I have said before to show him we are better than him, if we go out and kill him the way you described then we are no better than him we need to hold the moral high ground and lead by example. Even if we do kill him we need to at least be humane about it, we kill him the way you described we should then guess what, we are no better than our enemies.

The Saudis on the other head behead people. There are tales of their deliberately using a dull blade that require numerous chops to do the job. whether that is true or not, I prefer not to live in a country that deliberately brutalizes even the condemned thank you very much.

And yet here you are publicly fantasizing about killing and maiming someone while claiming the moral high ground. The only thing that separates you from such sociopaths is laziness.

I am not anti-death penalty, but there is a line between state executions and torturing people
