We were all sitting on the living room couch, chatting more about our experiences over the past school year to pass the time. Every once in awhile, I would see Anita stretching her arms in the air and moving her body about, probably to loosen some of the kinks of being tied up for a decent amount of time.
After about 15 minutes, I had thought up a game for us to play.
"Okay, I've thought up a game. Here's the rules: We'll split up into two teams. Me and Anita will be one team (we'll be Team A), and Jenny and Mabel will be the other (you guys will be Team B). One team will hide a bomb, hold on for a second...," I said making my way over to the living room closet to pull out a small cardboard box.
"This'll be the bomb. So one team hides the bomb while the other team waits outside. Once the bomb is hidden, the team that hid the bomb will text the team waiting outside to come in to try to find it. The team that was waiting outside has 30 minutes to find the bomb or else they lose."
"Ok, that's the basic rules of the game. Here's the fun part: The team that hid the bomb has to avoid being captured by the other team before the 30 minutes is up. If anyone from the team that hid the bomb is spotted by someone from the other team, they have to allow themselves to be tied up. However, anyone from the team waiting outside can be captured as well if they are snuck up on from behind. Once you're captured, you can't yell out anything that can give away your location." (This was totally possible as all the floors were carpeted, except the basement, which had tiled flooring.)
"So, the team that hid the bomb can win by capturing the other team or by holding out for 30 minutes. The team that's searching for the bomb can win if they can find the bomb within 30 minutes or by capturing the other team. Any questions?"
(For those who haven't figured out what this game refers to, it refers to one of my favorite FPS games, Counterstrike.)
"So, which team gets to hide the bomb first?"
"We can flip a coin to decide," I said, pulling a quarter from my pocket.
"If it's heads, we get to hide the bomb first. Tails, then it's you guys who get to hide it."
I flipped the coin up in the air and it came up tails.
"Looks like me and Anita get to wait outside while you two hide the bomb."
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Lemme go grab some materials for us to use."
I came back to the living room holding a large handful of ropes and scarves to use. (I figured the scarves could be used as blindfolds or gags.) So each person was equipped with about 3 long pieces of rope, 2 scarves, and a small pair of scissors to cut off lengths. Anita, Jenny, and Mabel were able to stuff these items into their handbags, while I decided to grab a backpack to stuff my items into. Anita and I then slipped on our shoes and headed outside to wait while Jenny and Mabel hid the bomb. After about 5 minutes, I received a text from Jenny that the bomb was hidden and that we could come back inside now. We went back inside and kicked off our shoes, and decided to split up to look for the bomb to avoid both of us being surprised at once by Jenny or Mabel. I decided to search downstairs while Anita searched upstairs.
(I should probably describe the layout of the house. The first floor had a kitchen, a living room, a storage closet, and a bathroom, with a set of stairs leading to the basement where we stored items no longer used and a set of stairs leading upstairs. The second floor had 4 bedrooms, each with a closet, a desk, a wardrobe, and of course, a bed. There was another bathroom, along with a set of stairs that you could pull down to head to the attic, where more storage crap was put.)
I tiptoed my way about downstairs, looking under the couch in the living room, looking in the cupboard in the kitchen, and going through the closet and bathroom. While I was searching, I heard a loud sneeze come from somewhere. I guessed that it had come from upstairs, since the basement was closer to the first floor than the second floor was. When I headed down to the basement, I decided to check behind the pile of boxes and sure enough, I came across Mabel, who was curled up into a ball. She sheepishly looked up at me.
"It's so dusty down here, I couldn't help from sneezing."
"Yeah, it's not a very good place to hide," I said. "Gimme your rope and scarves."
"Why?"
"So that I still have something to use for when I catch Jenny, silly."
"Oh, okay. I guess that makes sense..." she said with a puzzled look as she reached into her handbag for her rope and scarves.
"Okay, now turn around and put your hands behind your back." She complied with my orders as I took the first length of rope and began to tie her wrists behind her. After wrapping the rope about 3 times horizontally and 3 times vertically, I cinched off the rope and tied the knot.
I then had her sit upright with her feet placed in front of her. Wow, was my basement floor dusty. I noticed that Mabel had collected some of the dust on the soles of her feet as I tied her feet in a similar way to how I tied her hands. I then placed her on her stomach and began to tie a rope to ankle bindings...
"Hey, can you not tie me up on the floor? It's kinda cold."
"Oh, sorry about that," I said and helped her sit upright again. She had a lot of exposed skin; I forgot she was only wearing a sleeveless shirt and her knee length pants.
"Okay, now we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Where's the bomb?"
Mabel just shrugged her shoulders.
"Okay...you asked for it." I began to tickle her soles. She started to squirm a little bit, but made no notion of telling me where the bomb was. I decided to go for her weak spot, her stomach. I quickly pounced on her stomach and tickled her there, occasionally moving onto her sides for good measure. This got way more reaction from when I tickled her feet.
"I...hehe...dunno...I dunno...hehe...where it is...Jenny hid it!"
"Damn, you didn't see where Jenny hid it?"
"No, I have no idea."
"*sigh*...Guess I gotta find Jenny then...but before I go..."
I took one of the scarves and had her bite down on it, as I tied off the gag behind her neck. I then took the final scarf and placed it over her eyes, tying the knot off behind her head to complete the blindfold. There, now Mabel was bound hand and foot, with a gag and blindfold to boot.
Now to find Jenny... (it's more fun tying someone up than to find a cardboard box ; ))
