So, this is kind of awkward, but I guess I'm in good company to explain my situation here.
For those of you who don't know, there's this awesome site called Belle Bound that uploads DID scenes from movies and TV in full blue-ray quality. I'll link it at the bottom.
Anyway, I got a bit carried away and downloaded a dozen+ videos off of there. Because of the size of the files and the quantity of which I was downloading, I recently got a popup from our internet service provider saying that we'd exceeded our limit for downloading for the month that we have on our plan (this is home internet, not a smartphone plan). It also said that any additional downloads would be charged as extra.
At first I thought it was just spam, so I closed out of it and continue on my merry way. But then I looked into it, and it turns out that this is legit. I've just never downloaded so much to have this notice come up before now.
I got that popup about 4 days ago, and since then I've done my best to cease all downloading, trying to make it until the end of the month. I consulted the internet, and the bill does not show what specifically was downloaded, just the megabyte usage. But I'm still afraid that my mom is going to get the bill soon, see the extreme amount of downloading, and come looking at me (I'm the only other one in the house).
So, my question is this: should the situation arise, how do I explain my profound amount of downloading to my mom? We have a pretty high limit and no amount of casual downloading could ever possibly exceed that. I'm 18, so she might immediately suspect porn or the like. I thought about claiming to have downloaded some blue ray movies (after all, that is the truth), but if she thought I was torrenting, that wouldn't end well either.
Maybe nothing will even happen. But she'll be getting her bill soon, and I'd like to be prepared if she comes asking. I could really use some help with this and I'd appreciate any advise or ideas.
Thanks.
