Hillary Off the Hook

Postby drawscore » Wed Jul 06, 2016 1:12 am

The FBI came out and said it would not recommend criminal charges be filed against Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified material on her private server. As expected, the Republicans are more than a little upset.

One other group is upset, as well. Bernie Sanders supporters. Nice to see that, on some things, the far left, and the right wing, can agree on something.

Yeah, with her out of the way Bernie Sanders would have the shot at the Presidency crooked Hillary virtually stole from him.
It's weird though that the GOP should be so upset. In many ways Hillary falls in line with their goals more than their own nominee Trump does!

Speaking as someone who voted for Bernie, boy I'm tired of Bernie supporters pretending they were cheated out of a win. Also, LOL at the American right's notion of "far left".

Oh, Hillary would likely have won anyway even had she not done everything in her power to cheat. But the fact that she did cheat in so many ways, and is these days more of a left-wing Republican than she is a Democrat, disgusts me about her. But then, there has probably never been an election in US history where there wasn't a lot of cheating and chicanery going on anyway.

I voted for Bernie, too, and he did carry Rhode Island heavily. There is nothing compelling to me about Hillary. Except, of course, the fact that she did not put the country thru any greater embarrassment during the Lewinski affair.

Maybe, just maybe, we need to play the Trump card. The man is smart even tho he speaks from the hip. He says he is going to control immigration, that he just wants to KNOW who is coming into our country. Whats wrong with that? Shouldn't we really know? Immigrants who came here 100 years ago were known or sent back where they came from.

No, he isn't. He went bankrupt with a casino *twice*.

Nice fallacy of omission; he says he is going to "control immigration" with a complete unworkable, unrealistic, cost-prohibitive "solution" that will never happen. He's doing it based on the false assumption that everyone who crosses the border is some sort of rapist or other criminal (and if it's THOSE PEOPLE (tm) TAKIN YER JOBS you're worried about: if someone with no support system who doesn't speak the language beats you out for a job, you weren't a great candidate to begin with)...all with the added economic bonus of alienating the US's third-largest trading partner. That's quite a bit different from the spin you're trying to put on it.

You're basically saying the equivalent of "Hitler just wanted a strong, united Germany free from the humiliation of the first world war, what's wrong with that?"

Just heard that she may not be completely free. There seems to be a lesser known investigation into the financial dealings of the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation. Something about the foundation receiving funds in the millions of dollars from foreign governments, then using the foundation to funnel that money to Hillary's campaign.

If they're going to do something concerning legal charges, I hope they do it before the election; and preferably before the democratic convention. If they wait until afterward and she wins the presidency, it's really going to add badly to the already crippling paralysis afflicting the federal government. Nothing will get done, and everyone but the rich will suffer badly for it.

It's no worse than anything you've ever used as a source here, as far as I can tell... and it's probably better than many, if not most.
There's really no such thing as an objective news source anymore these days anyway. But I'd trust Huffington Post far more than i would sources that dyed-in-the-wool conservatives like you favor, such as Fox News.
Anyway, did you even bother to read the article or listen to the video? He did say precisely what the story says he did; i just think he did so more because of political expediency rather than because he actually believed it. The man is wise enough to choose his own battles, and saying that Hillary cheated (however accurate I may think that is) is probably going to lose him more support than he'd gain from this point on. People would just accuse him of 'sour grapes'... as in fact many people have been already.

Most of them have political axes to grind. Probably the most objective source, is BBC America. It leans left, too, but not nearly as far left as much of the American media.

Oh, and I would also take with a grain of salt, anything from World Net Daily and Newsmax

Yawn. Twenty years of the noise machine's manufactroversies is leaving them looking like the boy who cried wolf.

Nope. When even Bernie concedes that she won it fair and square, maybe you need to look at your assumptions.

American media is stunningly pro-corporate and "leans left" only in the fevered imaginings of the right-wing echo chamber, whose only criteria seems to be "if it says I'm wrong, it's biased". Not that I expect you to ever recognize your own confirmation bias.

As I already said, sometimes even an honest man like Bernie has to use diplomacy instead of the truth if he wants to accomplish his goals. I still stand by what i said; not that it makes any difference now. I'll still support her over a dangerous buffoon like Trump any day, But I don't like many of her policies such as her proclivities to vote for war or her supporting corporate interests over those of average citizens and likely I never will.
