An Imaginary Situation...

Postby ebascoray » Wed Mar 30, 2011 6:53 pm

OK, Folks, here's the imaginary, science-fiction situation...News has just broken, all around the world, that scientists have determined that a huge---and I do mean HUGE---asteroid is hurtling towards Earth. It will impact with our planet in about 7 days. And, when that happens, it'll be "lights out"..."that's all folks"..."final curtain call" for Earth and its inhabitants. Earth will be blown to smithereens, with billions of pieces of the planet exploding and flinging out all over the Cosmos. Sooooo, having that knowledge, is there anyone, ANYONE, who you have had a secret fantasy about introducing TUGs to, and would like too, but never built up the courage to, before it all ends in 7 days? Of course, you don't want to force them into a TUG against their will, but, then again maybe...But, now, just 7 days remain for everyone. Anyone that you have in mind to introduce to TUGs...friend, classmate, team mate, neighbor, work associate?

Me? Well, a lot of people come to mind. But, it's a good thing that there isn't a huge asteroid coming towards the Earth right now...

Not to burst your bubble or anythig (this is a scenario as imaginative as it is - thankfully - unlikely), but I doubt anyone with any sanity at all would be thinking about TUGs at a time like that.
Even if *I* was (which I doubt), I doubt anyone not already into it would even give me the time of day should I even attempt to bring the subject up.
Most people not praying to God for deliverance from evil would probably be looting and rioting anyway, in which case there'd be too much chaos for anyone to feel safe about being tied up for even a moment - even me!

Anyway, hopefully it doen't take the end of the world to get someone interested in having Tugs with you; perhaps a less apocalyptic setting and a more relaxed atmosphere would do better.
For example; you're getting a really geat job but it requires you to move out of the country for the rest of your life. Before you go though, etc., etc., That way, no one else is going to be distracted from their own routine lives but you, and you're more likely to get somewhere. :D
BTW, sorry for being an old stick in the mud.

Oh, no, no, no, Mr. Toddman, think nothing of it. You just brought up some things that I had never even THOUGHT about. I guess it just took someone who is from my own generation to present those thoughts to me. If I've read your history correctly in the stories that you have written, you and I are separated in age by about 3 years (I'm older) So, we are probably both proverbial "sticks in the mud". Bubble not burst at all! Feels great to be a stick! (But, I'm not as light as a stick; just need more excercise!)

Gee Ebascoray; I guess I'm not the only over-literal spoiler around here. :D
