Prologue:

Twenty years before the Bernese War of Aggresion, the continent of Elibe was griped by the terror of an invisible enemy. The sorcerer Nergal used the Black Fang criminal syndicate to weaken the foundations of modern civilization, but Eliwood, son of Elbert, the Marquiss of Pherae set out to stop him.

Our tale falls upon two of his soldiers, a skilled mage named Erk and a talented archer named Wil, and their unique side to this little-known tale.

Twenty years prior to the Bernese War of Aggression, strange things were happening in the Confederacy of Lycia. The second-most powerful Marquiss, Elbert of Pherae, had gone missing, a group of assassins and mercenaries called the Black Fang appeared all over the country and a large number of nobles were also acting strangely. One of those nobles was Marquiss Darin of the powerful Laus territory. Lord Darin had always been unpleasant and arrogant but his dedication to both Laus and the League were without doubt. Things started to change however, when Darin's arrogance increased to the point of becoming a warhawk and his personality became unstable. In this state. he allowed a mild attraction toward a traveling young noblewoman to turn into an obsession and to that end, he forbade her from leaving Laus until she agreed to become his wife.

The girl's escort, a young mage named Erk, decided that for his employee's safety they couldn't stay in Laus and made an attempt to escape. Marquiss Darin discovered the plan however which enraged him. He ordered his knights led by his son Eric to march out and capture the two, while he started a plan to gain the deciding power in Lycia...

Erk, and his charge, a young, noble-born healer named Priscilla, were hiding in a small fishing village in the territory, hoping not to be caught. "Erk, Darin won't hurt me, but what about you?", Priscilla asked. "I don't want to see you die for my sake", she told him. ''Lady Priscilla, my teacher entrusted you in my care'', Erk said. ''Besides, all arrangement are already made, I just need to strike the final deal and then you can leave this place'', he further said. Erk planned to make a deal with some local fishermen and escape to Caelin with their help. ''I'll take my leave now, but I'll be back within the hour'', as the mage left to bribe the fishermen, unaware of the knights had moved out in all local villages such as that. "Okay, please be careful", Priscilla said in a concerned tone as Erk left. ''I will my lady'', Erk nodded and left the village. He chose to travel trough forests and small roads to remain hidden.

Elsewhere, in Caelin, Darin was leading the assault on the castle, in an attempt to conquer it, and the surprise attack devastated Caelin's troops. It's Lady, the nomadic princess Lyn, her personal cavalry knights Sain and Kent, her pegasus knight friend Florina, the skilled archer Wil, a wandering mercenary hired by Marquiss Hausten named Raven and his light magic-using companion Lucius, were the strongest among the defenders, but repelling Darin's army seemed impossible. So, on the orders of Lyn, Wil was sent to find Eliwood, Marquiss Elbert's son and a friend and ally of Lyn, to tell him of the news and he managed to escape the castle and was heading for Pherae, before he heard the news that Eliwood was creating a small, but powerful force, and decided to head for them.

Eliwood's forces had heard something was going on in Laus and were making their way there although it would be some time before they arrived. "Have to hurry! No time to lose!", Wil repeated to himself, as he went on Eliwood's trail, not stopping for any rest, if he could. As Eliwood headed for Laus, and Wil for Eliwood, back in Caelin, Darin's forces had seized the castle, and captured Lyn and her forces. ''So, this is the famed Sacaen lady?''. Darin asked unimpressed his as soldiers brought the bound Lyn before him. "And you must be the Marquiss Darin", Lyn said equally unimpressed. "You know the other heads of the Lycian League won't stand for this", she told him. ''Don't you worry about that lass'', Darin said. ''My minion Ephidel has it covered'', he added with a smug, but also slightly maniacal grin. Lyn noticed a strange figure, gaunt and pale, covered in a purple robe and she cocked an eyebrow at this. ''My lord, it might be a good idea to spare the girl'', the cloaked figure said. ''Marquiss Hausten should get a lot more...cooperate if you do'', he explained. Lyn could quickly see this cloaked individual was the real power and mind behind Darin. She gritted her teeth as she waited for Wil to meet Eliwood and bring troops to rescue her and the castle.

''Ah, finally the fishermen! Wait...what?!?'', Erk said as he approached and saw Eric and a squad of horsemen ride toward his location. "Spread out and find him! He's a young, purple-haired mage! Now go!", Erik commanded. ''This will be troublesome'', Erk thought, as he could no longer contact the fishermen because it would put them in danger. Erk disappeared into the forest once more but once he came out however, he saw Eric and his soldiers waiting for him .''Out of the way, cur!'', Erk said and readied his thunder tome. Eric himself was not a skilled fighter by any means, often preferring to flaunt his not-even-that-good looks over training. However, he did wield a powerful silver lance and was surrounded by his soldiers which would make things difficult for Erk. "Welcome to Laus", Eric said, as his soldiers started to surround Erk. "Why not be a good boy, and just tell me where the girl is, and you can walk away, no questions asked", he told him. ''Sorry, I'm not much of a talker'', as a lightning bolt struck before Eric's horse. ''Now, why don't you be a good man-child and walk away from this before I destroy you, it will keep your dignity in tact'', Erk boasted. However, a throng of knights pointed their lances at Erk, blocking him from further use of magic.

"Oh, you just made a mistake, boy", Eric said as other knights started to come with rope to bind Erk. Erk gave a glare of defiance but there wasn't much else he could do at the moment. A bit humiliating considering his earlier boast. The knights bound Erk's hands and feet together, and firmly tied a cloth over his mouth. One placed the captive mage over his saddle. "All right, let's make an example of this boy. Bring him to the castle town!", Eric commanded. ''Mmphhh gghhmm!'', Erk struggled along the ride, giving Eric an angry look. "We'll take this brat and present him in the town square, and make an ultimatum to the girl that if she doesn't come, he dies", Eric told his head knight. Erk's eyes went wide from shock. ''MMPHHHHHHHH!'', the boy groaned and started struggling and shaking his head. He was Priscilla's's escort, he couldn't allow himself to be used like this.

Close to Wil's location, a pink-haired girl in a robe was gathering firewood. ''This isn't fair! How can Lord Hector order a sweet, innocent and dare I say beautiful girl to do this sweaty work?!?'', she grumbled to herself. The girl was the Cleric, Serra. Wil was exhausted, but kept going as he could see a camp nearby. Trudging along, he saw the pink-haired cleric grumbling about something. "H-Hello!", he said. ''Huh, is that?'', Serra blinked. ''Scruffy clothes, unkempt hair, outdated fashion sense.....IT'S WILL!'', she yelled cheerfully. "N-Nice to see you too, Serra", Wil said. "Please, can you tell Lord Eliwood that a messenger of Caelin brings dire news? I'll stay here to loosen up my leg muscles and catch my breath", as he been cross-countrying for several miles. ''Okay just follow me, Wil'', Serra cheerfully pulled him with her. ''But you know, we can't do much with just dire news, we need to know whats going on, so start talking'', she explained. "Yes, ma'am. Marquiss Darin launched a surprise attack on Caelin. He's completely surrounded the castle. I fear for Marquiss Hausten and Lady Lyndis", Wil said. '

'Lyn's in trouble? Now that's something dire indeed'', Serra said a little unsettled. ''All right! I'll take you to Lord Eliwood and Lord Hector! I have them both eating out my hand so getting their help shouldn't be a problem!'', she smiled. "Thanks", Wil said, He never was sure what to make of Serra, but she hoped she could do what she promised.

It wasn't too long before they troops arrived back at the main town of Laus. Eric's' troops took Erk to the proclaiming square, adjusted his tie to he was now bound to a pole. "Send word to all the villages of Laus so that Lady Priscilla hears this. If she does not willingly come to here to surrender soon, this boy's life is forfeit", Eric told them. ''Mmphhhhh HHHHHMPHHHHH!'', Erk struggled fiercely and made all kind of signals she shouldn't come. It wasn't too long before the envoy came to the village where Priscilla was hiding. "Oh no!", she said to herself. While she knew Erk sacrificed himself for her sake, her conscience couldn't accept someone dying for her, so she made up her mind to ride to Laus to do what she was told.

After a few hours passed, there was no sign of Priscilla. ''Okay she isn't coming!'', a Laus soldier said impatiently. ''You two! Hang the boy!'', he ordered. Erk was untied from the pole only to have his hands bound behind him again. ''Now move it you brat!'', as the captive Erk was roughly being pushed toward a whole different kind of ''pole'' just as Priscilla entered the town. ''Mmphhhhh!'', Erk groaned and tried to resist as best he could. ''MMPHHHHHHH!'', as suddenly he could see Priscilla riding towards them. "Wait!", Priscilla said. "Lord Eric, I am here, please do not harm Erk!", she pleaded. ''Well since your nice enough to show up....I don't see why we need that boy anymore'', Eric smiled as two of his men grabbed Priscilla. ''Carry on with the hanging!'', he ordered, but luckily for Erk, the men of Laus were not complete scum like Eric was and talked their lord out of it. ''Fine. Just lock both up until my father gets back'', he ordered.

Hector and Eliwood were in the main tent discussing where to look for Eliwood's dad next as Serra then came in. ''Oooooooh, my lordships!'', Serra sang. ''This here is Will! He's got bad news from Caelin!'', she said. Wil then repeated what he said earlier. "Hmm, this is truly dire news", Eliwood said. "Yeah, and Laus is closer to us then Caelin", Hector added. "Oh yes, apparently while Darin is off in Caelin, his son Eric is hunting for some Etrurian noblewoman passing by", Wil then told them. ''Where to go first Eliwood?'', Hector asked, as he suspected Eliwood would first go to Laus to talk his very one-sided friend Eric out of this. "If we can capture the fief of Laus, we might be able to cut Darin's support from under him", Eliwood reasoned. ''And Eric?'', Hector asked. ''Would it be fine if I...put that punk out of his misery?'', as Eric had always hated Hectors guts and it was completely mutual. "If it comes to that", Eliwood said. "Now, we must starting mobilizing", he said. Eliwood then summoned his deputy Marcus, and soon the forces began to gear up.

Priscilla and Erk were marched inside a cell. Both were forced to sit down, and both of their hands were tied behind their backs, rope bound their arms and stomachs together, then their thighs and ankles were individually tied, and finally Priscilla was gagged with a cloth, as Erk was still muzzled. ''Ngghh mgh mhhhhp!'', Erk struggled. He was lucky they were tied back-to-back since he couldn't look her in the eyes for the moment, as he felt quite ashamed about this. Priscilla gently held Erk's hand as a way to show she was sorry and to help him feel better. ''Mgha mmphyo mghkay?'', Erk asked if she was all right. Considering how tight their bonds was and how dark their cell was, he highly doubted it and cursed his inexperience even more for it. Priscilla nodded her head in hopes Erk could feel it. She wasn't too scared as she knew eventually Etruria would demand her and hopefully Erk's release, she just hoped no bloodshed came from it.

Erk was a LOT more pessimistic about it. He had heard from his master that Priscilla left home without permission, and he didn't know her adoptive parents so he just assumed the worst of them, it was ''easier'' that way. So, he thought that either they would hold off their demands for a while to scare their daughter into never doing this again or they could agree to Darin's demands so they could gain a powerful son-in-law. Erk was completely wrong about this since Priscilla's parents really loved her, but he was pessimistic by nature, and either way he didn't expect a demand would be made for his freedom by those nobles. Of course his master would pay for him...but that only made Erk feel worse. ''Mmphhhhh ngh hhhmph!'', as after a while Erk started struggling again, he knew it would inconvenience Priscilla at the moment but if he just managed to get loose, it would be worth it.

''Hey, you!'', Hector called. ''Yes my lord?''. Serra answered giggly. ''Not you! Him!'', Hector roughly blew her off. ''What are your plans for now? Will you return to Caelin or fight with us?'', he asked Wil. "If Caelin is still are surrounded last I left, there wouldn't be much I could do alone", Wil said. "So, I suppose I must fight with you", he added. ''Sounds fine to me'', Hector said. ''And what was your name again?'', he asked "Wil, sir", the archer said. ''Yes, Matthew mentioned you in his report'', Hector said. ''Let's hope you bow is as good as he claims'', he told him. Thank you sir", Wil said. ''Yeah, keep your thanks as I haven't exactly complimented you yet'', Hector said. ''Now let's go!'', he ordered.

Meanwhile, back in Caelin, Lyn was marched back to the cell containing her personal knights Sain and Kent, her best friend Florina, and two others, the mercenary who was wandering near when the attack came named Raven, and his blonde, androgynous-looking monk friend called Lucius. Lyn's feet were lashed together, then she was kicked in as the cell door was locked. ''Lyndis, are you all right?'', Lucius asked, he was shackled hands and feet against the wall but was not gagged yet. ''I know how you might feel in this terrible situation but please don't lose hope'', he said. "Yeah, I'm fine", Lyn told him.

Raven, the monk's friend, kept silent and sullen, before giving Lucius a "Really?", kind of look. "Urgh, cowardly fiends!", Sain started. "If my trusty lance were in hand, these devils would crumple before us", he said angrily. "Sain, that's not helping", Kent said. As with Lucius, Raven's hands were raised above his head and two manacles coming from the wall kept him locked down while two from the bottom did the same to his feet and he was shackled next to Lucius, while Sain and Kent were tied similarly to Priscilla and Erk, and Florina was hogtied on the floor and also gagged as her usual shy manner irritated one of the guards enough. Lucius glanced toward Raven. He was fully prepared for ending up this way when he insisted they helped Lyn, but felt guilty for dragging his master down with him. ''Raven, you know Marquiss Laus right? Is he the kind of men who would...dispose of Lyn when her grandfather isn't useful anymore?'' he asked worriedly. "...Maybe. Depends on how quick the other Marquisses respond to this", Raven sternly said. Florina was wiggling on the ground, and whimpering, but she was trying to put on a brave face for Lyn.

Soon, Eliwood's force was making rapid speed towards Laus. ''So then, that maggot Eliwood is coming to Laus'', Eric was sitting on his fathers throne as a messenger came before him to tell his report. ''Perfect! I always wanted to crush him and his pathetic morality beneath my boots! Ready the cavalry!'', he ordered as he began to arm himself and ride out. ''And there they come'', Hector said as he saw the Lausian troops rush out of the castle. ''And like always, Eric isn't fighting in front and is hiding in the back", he noted. "Probably securing the entrance to the main keep, sire", Oswin replied to Hector. "Be that as it may, Laus' main force will be Cavaliers! Fighters and Knights up front, Archers and Mages behind!", Eliwood commanded to make a force that would decimate the Lausian Knights. Marcus and Oswin would serve as the leaders of the vanguard since they were the strongest members with Serra and Wil being the leaders at the back of the force and Eliwood, Hector and the two axefighters named Bartre and Dorcas would be commanders at the center.

Eric wasn't too concerned, as even if Eliwood managed to defeat his troops thanks to some miracle, he could always threaten to toss the prisoners off the wall if he didn't stop his advance. Right on time, the knights came charging in, and the axemen cut down the lancers and the knights impaled the swordwielders while a flurry of arrows and magic hit the horsemen the back. Hector broke from the center and joined Oswin and Marcus in decimating the front lines while the lance knight Lowen rode toward the Laus flank for a counter-cavalry charge.

"This....This can't be happening!", Eric said as he began to lose his confidence. and he could see Eliwood riding towards him, Rapier in hand. Eliwood's first strike distracted Eric long enough for him to fail to notice Hector trudging behind Eliwood and for him to strike at him with his mighty axe. Eric's silver lance broke from the attack. ''Still without a hint of skill, I see''. Hector mocked him. "No! Impossible!", Erik stammered. "Eric, you always did care more about appearances than ability. If you'd had even a hint of skill, perhaps you'd not be in this mess'' Hector said as he raised his Axe, but Eric fainted in fear as Hector did so. ''Well this was not completely unexpected'', Hector said to Eliwood. Eliwood's troops began to bind then carry away Eric as the rest of Laus' troops were defeated.

''Mmphh?'', as Erk heard two soldiers discussing the battle. Was there a battle going? Against who?", he thought to himself. Priscilla also was curious. "Whhmpt cmmmg thmmpgh bemmmpgh?", she asked. ''Mmphhhh!'', Erk groaned into the direction of the door. ''Shut your traps, you two!'', their guards said in a annoyed tone. ''We clashed with some ignorant nobles who passed by, it's nothing you brats need to concern yourselves with...unless they do too well of course'', one added with a smile. ''Nghhhh'', Erk groaned as he knew all to well what he meant by that. Elsewhere, Wil managed to sneak into the castle while the battle raged, but he felt like he wasn't alone as he turned around, arrow cocked. ''Eeeeeeeeeek! Wil!'', Serra screamed....which alarmed the few guards. ''Mmphhh!'', Erk groaned as his face turned a white when he heard a familiar scream, surely he misheard it...surely!

"What's wrong with you, Serra? You can't sneak up behind me like that!", Wil said to her. "Now stay close to me and keep your eyes open!". ''I was NOT sneaking up on you!'', Serra pouted. ''I just thought you needed help, that's all!'', she added. "Okay, okay!", Wil said calming her down. "Let's scour the dungeons for the Etrurian noblewoman!", he said. Erk then heard a loud yell as an arrow impaled the guard before their cell. ''Mmpphh hhmph!'', the young mage grunted, trying to ask what was going on. "All right, I'll cover you", Wil said to a key-holding Serra. "Okay!", as she opened the door. "Why...Hello? It can't be", she began to say. ''MPPHHHHHHH!'', as much to Erk's shame he let out a scream of horror when he saw Serra. While he should be rejoicing about Priscilla being rescued, but seeing Serra was bad enough for poor Erk, and her seeing him in this state made it so much worse. "ERK! What's a guy like you doing here?", Serra asked as she ungagged both.

"Why, it's been so long since we last met! And now I'm your knight in shining armor!", she giggled. "Uh...Miss? Can you untie us please?, Priscilla nicely asked. Erk growled, as the annoying cleric was right but Serra being his ''knight in shining armor'' really was the worst possible outcome that could have happened. ''Serra'', Erk said curtly.''You are the last person I want t-....grrr thank you'', as he realized that what he was about to say was extremely rude considering the circumstance and begrudgingly had her have her moment. "Uh, not to interrupt this happy reunion", Wil said as Serra began to untie both. "But, I'm actually the one who slew the guards and am guarding her so she can untie the prisoners", he added. "Hmph!", Serra pouted as Priscilla helped Erk back up. ''Ah, thank you Lady Priscilla and I'm sorry for letting you down'', as Erk made a short bow and turned to Wil, thankful that he didn't owe this all completely to Serra, as Priscilla curtsied as a response to Erk's apology. ". ''Me and my lady are much abliged....mmm....Wil right?'', he asked. "Yup, that's me and it's no big deal", Wil said. "Now, let's get you both to safety. Come, Serra", he beckoned. ''He just haaaaad to speak up didn't he?'' Serra said, annoyed. ''This was my chance to get Erk all in my debt!'', he pouted once more. "Shush", Wil said to her.

The two travelers were escorted to Eliwood. "Thank you, my lords, for your help in rescuing us", Priscilla said. ''Yes, you have my gratitude'', Erk said politely. ''I'll see to it that you'll be rewarded'', he added. "I believe we have met before", Eliwood said to Erk. "But you, my lady, I am not familiar with. Can I ask your name", he asked Priscilla. ''I am Priscilla'', she said as she bowed. ''I'm the adoptive daughter oe one of the great houses of Eturia'', while Erk wasn't sure about having meet Eliwood before. Catching a glimpse of each other was more accurate. "Nice to meet you", Eliwood said. "Now then, we are going to Caelin to save it from Marquiss Darin, so I am afraid, we must ask you both to stay with us for a little while", he added. ''Must?'', Erk asked distrustfully. ''Lady Priscilla is on an important mission of her own, and as a noble you should know better then to drag a girl into your mess'', he said, but that being said Erk had no problem with it if Priscilla wanted to join.

"Erk, please", Priscilla said. "These two men and their forces almost certainly saved our lives, we can help them back for a while", she added. ''I don't feel right with you joining an army but..if that's your wish then just say the word'', Erk said. "It's true I'm not a fighter, but I can use my magic to heal the wounded", Priscilla said. "And you will still protect me, right, Erk?", she asked. ''Of course Lady Priscilla'', Erk said before she even finished talking. Priscilla smiled at this. "All right, we can make it to Caelin soon enough", Hector said. "We should scout it out, so I'll send Matthew to handle that", he added. ''While you make your preparations, is there a place Lady Priscilla and I can rest?'', Erk asked. ''She has had a difficult day, now I believe you requested separate rooms, right Lady Priscilla?'', he asked. "It would be nice, but if you could only spare one, I understand", Priscilla said. 'Yes, we'll take whatever you have available for us'', Erk added. "Right, we have two available for other's use. Lady Priscilla can have one, but it looks like Erk must share with the new archer, Wil. Is that acceptable?", Hector said. ''I have no objection. Wil?'', Erk asked. "Sure, no problem", Wil replied.

It wasn't too long before an envoy from Laus caught up with Darin to tell him the bad news. "WHAT? My son is taken?", Darin began to rage. If Eliwood was coming, he couldn't hurt Lyn now. "Calm yourself, Marquiss", the strange figure called Ephidel said. "As long as Hausten and Lyndis are ours, your son is safe. In fact, may I make a suggestion that you take her and her guards when the battle starts near the castle, tied to poles and ready to execute as a show of force?", he suggested. ''Yes...yes that's a fine idea'', as like always Darin's own plans and opinions washed away whenever Ephidel spoke. ''And once Eliwood arrives, we force him to hand over Eric or the prisoners die!'', he said. ''About that, my lord. I think it's time we alter our plans to the exclusion of the boy'', as Ephidel noticed his manipulation had taken such deep roots that Darin would abandon his son after a little push. ''Your son has failed you which was something we expected when we left him, we could get so much more out of Eliwood if we focus on gaining other things from him, as the crown of the whole united nation is worth that sacrifice, yes?'', he slimily asked Darin. ''Yes....yes it is!'' Darin said, fulfilling his role as Ephidel's puppet well. Some of the guards there looked a bit disgusted by this, but said nothing. Ephidel smiled. ''I will report your good judgment to Lord Nergal''.

Eliwood's forces would rest the night before sending off for Caelin the following morning. Erk followed Wil to their room. He wasn't sure what to say actually, as the two had traveled together in the past but socializing wasn't exactly Erk's strong suit and during his travels with Lyn, he was usually lost in his books when not in battle so he realized he didn't really know the archer at all. "So, come on in, don't be bashful", Wil said. "Might as well be relaxed tonight, for tomorrow is a big day", he added. Erk entered the room and sat down at a desk and then took a book out to read. ''I thank you for your hospitality Wil'', he said as he started reading, If not stopped. he would continue to do so until daybreak. "No, it's all right, Erk", Wil said, as he sat down on his bed, looking troubled and sighing. ''Ah, that's good'', Erk said, oblivious to the sound Will just made. Wil then stated to mumble something to himself that Erk eventually began to notice. ''What was that?'', Erk asked. ''Do you have something to say?''.

"Huh? Oh, I'm sorry, I was repeating something back to myself. I heard that in the next battle, if we can capture some high-ranking enemies, they could be used to guarantee the safety of others, but obviously since you can't just tell them to stay there, you must bind them, but I've never tied anyone up before", Wil explained. ''Well that's not something I can help you with Wil'', Erk said, as being a practise dummy for Will didn't cross Erk's mind yet. "I know, I know", Wil said. "Still, I don't know if I can ask anybody 'Hey, for tomorrow's battle I need some experience on learning how to restrain someone, so can I tie you up', can I?", he asked. ''I think everyone would refuse such a thi-are you asking me?'', Erk asked. ''This is a jest right?''. "Huh? Did you just suggest yourself?", Wil asked. "I mean, I've had a little training on how to restrain animals in my village when I was young, but not on humans", he said. ''No, I did not'', Erk said. ''I merely thought you implied I should''. "Yeah, but it sounded to me like you were, which kinda surprised me, since I didn't think you would let me do so", Wil said, getting what was fact and reality confused.

''N-no I did not and I won't let you do that! This is just a misunderstanding'', Erk said. "Well, make up your mind, Erk!", Wil said as he accidentally felt something with his foot under the bed while saying that. "Wait, hang on a second", as he went down to collect what it was, which was several coils of rope and some cloth. "Who put this here?", he asked. ''Me!? It really looked like you were asking me'', Erk protested. ''And this is your room, so didn't you?''. "How could I?", Wil asked. "We just arrived here a few moments ago", as he then checked the rope. "Hmm, this is some lightweight, yet firm, stuff. Doesn't look like it's for much, animal-related", he noted. ''Maybe that Eric guy used it on his girlfriend'', Erk shrugged it off. "Eugh, creepy stuff", Wil said. He then made a lasso and tried it out. "Hey, this stuff works pretty good", he noted. Erk was decided he was annoyed now and went back to his book, unaware that the lasso could be used on him.

Wil started to smile just a bit, and started to "innocently" whistle. "After all, it would unlikely a captive in battle would allow themselves to be restrained willingly...", he said out loud. ''I thought we dropped this'', Erk sighed. ''Yeah there is no chance of that happening in battle''. "Agreed. They must try to struggle and resist, plus I heard there might be a few mages in Darin's force. Sheesh, I'd hate for them to light a fireball in my face if I wasn't prepared", Wil slyly said. ''What exactly are you getting at Wil?'', an annoyed Erk looked up from his book. He knew the answer of course but he didn't expect the true meaning. "Oh, nothing, nothing", Wil said as he hid the lasso behind his back and rocked on his heels while whistling, but the intent was obvious, plus his mischievous grin. ''Grrr, like I said Wil, it's not happening'', Erk said sternly although now that he didn't have a spellbook on hand there wasn't much he could do to stop it. "Why, Erk. I have no clue on what you are trying to say", Wil said although the fact that the sounds of the lasso being swung in the air, plus Erk being able to see it probably wasn't helping his lie. ''Wait, Wil are you!?'', Erk tried to say as the lasso wrapped itself around Erk's ankles and with a quick pull, Wil dragged the mage from his chair. ''Wil!'', Erk yelled.

"Sorry if the fall from the chair hurt", Wil said as he began to tie the lasso around Erk's ankles into a proper binding. ''W-wil, what are you doing?! Let me go!'', Erk said as he struggled. ''If this is a jest, I fail to see the humor!''. "Don't you worry one bit, Erk", Wil said as the other end of the lasso rope was bound around Erk's wrists, hogtying him. "You'll be let go soon enough". ''I'm tied up on the ground and you are telling me not to worry?!''. Erk protested angrily. ''I demand you untie me now!''. "Don't worry, I'm very gentle", Wil said. "Oh, by the way, sorry for this, but there's a chance I might need to do it on a unruly prisoner of war", as he grabbed a cloth and tied it inbetween Erk's teeth. ''Stop! I am not a prisonemmpghhhh!'', as Erk's protest were silenced by the cloth between his teeth. ''Mmphhhh NGHHHHPMH!''. Erk screamed and angrily glared at Wil. "Okay then, remembering the factor of disarming them as they probably wouldn't be very happy about this, I'd say I got it down", Wil said. "Say Erk, could be a pal and struggle around for a few minutes and see if the knots hold? Wouldn't be much good if they could wiggle out", he asked. 'Hhhmph! Nghhh mmpphhh!'', Erk did struggle fiercely but not for the reason Wil said. ''Hhhhhpmh nhph!'', he grunted while he looked rather grumpy. After several couple dozen minutes passed by, Wil knelt down near Erk. "Well, I'm convinced I got it down. Thanks for being such a good sport, Erk", he said as he began to untie him. Erk just glared at Wil...very intensely. "Aww, don't be so mad", Wil said as he finished untying and ungagging Erk. "Hey, I'll tell you what. Since we are such good buddies, and since you didn't make too much of a fuss, while it's unlikely you probably will need to restrain someone in the field, why don't I let you tie me up as some payback?", he offered. ''Not to be rude but I wouldn't claim we are good buddies'', Erk said. ''But...well that's fair I guess''. "I think we are", as Wil tossed Erk some rope. "Okay, all yours". Erk made a sign that Wil should sit on a chair where he would tie him too, which Wil then did so as told.

Erk pulled Will's hands behind the chair and bound them, he then tied his feet together and wrapped some rope around his chest, binding it and him to the chair. "So, is this the first time you have ever tied someone up?", Wil asked. ''Yes, it's not something I ever needed to do before'', Erk said. "Not a bad job, Erk", Wil said. He didn't want to say anything, but his statement earlier about roping only stray horses was a lie. He remembered his childhood friends, Dan and Rebecca, and the mischief they would get into, kind of like this. Erk shrugged it off, not exactly feeling flattered. ''During the last journey with you I noticed you could be rather.....well, so I think we have to shut that mouth for the evening'', as Erk took a scarf. Erk tied the scarf around Wil's mouth. He had half a mind to leave Wil like this for the rest of the night because of what he did before. As Erk went to find another chair so he could get back to reading, Wil began to struggle and noticed that Erk's knots had a bit of give to them. Not much, and it would take a while for him to free himself, but enough. Once Erk got another chair, he started reading again, occasionally looking over to the bound Wil to see if he was all right. About 10-15 minutes after that passed before Wil finally managed to wiggle his hands free of the rope and removed his gag. ''Huh?'', Erk looked backwards. ''So you got out huh?'', he asked.

"Yeah", Wil said as he started to remove the chest and ankle bindings. "They weren't bad, but the knot for the hands was a bit too close to my fingers. Still, not too bad for a first-timer". ''You seem to know a lot about it'', Erk noted. ''Tying up horses and people are two entirely different things right?'', he asked. "All right, fair is fair, you caught the lie", Wil noted. "But, those times were for fun with my old friend and his sister". ''Hmmm, all right then'', Erk said. ''It's rather late, so I propose we go to bed''. "Yes, no tricks, scout's honor", Wil said. ''Uh, pardon?'' Erk asked confused and not getting that. "Oh, uh, it's a thing that means if I make a pledge, I can't break it, so I'll leave you alone now", Wil explained. ''Uh, yeah...do that'', as it sounded a bit weird to Erk but he agreed. Wil smiled a bit at Erk's confusion, but he took his armor, gloves and boots off and went to bed. Erk removed his robe and took place in another bed. "Good night, Erk", Wil said.

When Erk woke up, Eliwood and Hector had already began preparations to move out. "Finally up, Erk?", Wil said, all armed once more. ''Are we already starting the march?'', Erk asked and quickly put on his robe. "Yes, we are", Wil said as he readied his quiver, a regular bow, then a crossbow. Wil was very serious and stoic-sounding, unlike his behavior last night, as it was time for battle. Erk hurriedly dressed back in his robes and took two spell tomes. A lightning and a fire tome. ''Laus is a powerful territory'', Erk said. ''I have a feeling that this siege of Caelin will be a lot harder then the last one'', referring when Lyn had to liberate it one year prior from her evil, now-dead, great-uncle Lundgren. "Perhaps, but with their powerbase cut out from under them, it might be Darin might get cold feet now that he has nowhere to run", Wil said. ''Quite the opposite, it will make him more dangerous'', Erk said. ''He has nothing to lose now, after all''. "True", Wil said as the army moved out. Darin had heard from his scouts that Eliwood's army had left Laus. ''Fetch the girl and her knights!'', he ordered to his soldiers. Soon, the guards brought Lyn, Sain, Kent and Florina to Darin, while Raven and Lucius stayed in the dungeon. ''Seems that fool Eliwood is actually coming'', Darin said. ''Which means we'll have to show him our trump card, don't we?'', he mocked Lyn.

"So, you truly have forsaken your son, Darin? You are more vile then I thought", Lyn said. ''I'm still young, and I can easily make a new heir!'', Darin repeated something Ephidel said to him. ''As for you, you are going to help me get the throne! Because if Eliwood doesn't surrender, you will lose your head!''. Ephidel gave Darin a "We still need her to control Hausten, you imbecile" look after hearing that. Lyn knew Darin didn't have the stones to do that, but she wondered who this cloaked puppetmaster was. Darin turned to his soldiers. ''Gag this wench and take her outside!'', he yelled. ''Make sure she's clearly visible to the approaching army!''. The soldiers tied cloths over Lyn, Sain and Kent's mouths (as Florina was still gagged already), and marched them to a couple poles outside. They quickly untied the four's wrists, only to put them behind the poles and retied them, and then bound their ankles, for good measure. With the hostages put on display, Darin waited for Eliwood to arrive.

Wil scouted ahead. He saw the main force was guarding the castle, and near the gates, four prisoners were tied to poles, and so he went back to report to Eliwood. ''What!? That's horrible!'', Eliwood yelled when he heard it. ''What now? This will make it all a lot harder'', Hector said. "It will be difficult to reach them", Marcus commented. "If someone can spare me a swift-footed warrior to assist me, I can try sneaking around and coming behind them to rescue them", Wil said. ''I'm fairly fast'', Erk said. ''And I do want to help save Lady Lyndis'', he added. "Well, I meant maybe a swordsman or a lancer, but all right, we can try that", Wil said. ''If you want a swordsman, I can join you two'', a new recruit, a Sacaean nomad warrior, named Guy said. "All right, you three will lead the mission to rescue Lady Lyndis", Eliwood said. "But please, be very careful for all of our sakes". ''Yes my lord'', Erk nodded. ''We should move quickly, you two. I expect Laus' messengers that will ride to this camp to say the demands will set off at any moment, and we can't be seen by them'', he added. "Agreed", Guy said. So, they sent out as Wil for the pointman, Guy to guard their backs and Erk being in the middle. Like the last time they attacked Caelin, Erk blasted down a tree that created a bridge over the river. ''I don't think they have guarded the river very well'', Erk said. ''So we should have little problem getting to the castle''. "Let's hope they didn't notice a freak lightning bolt hitting down then", Wil said as all three crossed. ''Hahaha, he got you there Erk'', Guy laughed which Erk ignored.

Soon the three where near the castle wall, hiding in a bunch of bushes. "Okay, I can see them. Looks like the immediate threat to the hostages are some Soldiers, though I expect more resistance soon. we should also try arming them once we free them. Lyn works swords, Florina with lances, Kent and Sain can use either", Wil said. ''I know that, remember'', Erk said. ''Any plans to quickly take out those soldiers?'' Wil scouted the area more. "Okay, the guards over near the hostages are small, but spread-out, so I'll take them. You see those bunch grouped up over there? Erk, hit them with lightning magic after I started my assault. Guy will be between us to serve as our eyes and ears, as well as cut down any who approaches him", he said. ''Yes sir!'' Guy said. ''Agreed'', as Erk took his tome and waited for Wil to fire.

Wil began to sneak. "All right, this is going to take crackerjack timing", he thought to himself as he loaded multiple arrows onto his bow. Slowly, he approached the guards, who were concentrating on pointing their lances at the four, and as such, unaware of Wil coming. The guards were talking amongst themselves. ''What's our lord thinking? Killing the hostages even if the enemy agree!'', a guard complained. ''It's really none of our...look out!'', another guard yelled too late. ''That's the signal, which means its my turn!'', as Erk shot a lightning bolt at the other group of guards. As Erk let loose the thunder, Wil shot his arrows in the back of the neck of the guards in front of them, and they dropped down. Wil quickly jogged then rolled up and put his back to the prisoners to check for more guards coming. A pity he was literally right up on the very shy Florina, though. Guy easily defeated his group of soldiers and the two ran toward Wil and the prisoners. ''This is all..for now'', Erk said. ''But more soldiers will surely come from the castle''.

"Yup, let's get these four back to safety as soon as possible", Wil said as he began to untie Florina. Erk untied and ungagged Lyn. ''It's good to see you safe Lyndis'', he said. "Thanks to all three of you for saving us", Lyn said as Guy started to untie Sain and Kent. "Y-y-yeah, t-t-thanks Wil", Florina added with a blush. ''You should pick up the weapons of these soldiers'', Erk suggested. ''With the whole territory crawling with soldiers, I don't think escaping is much of an option, we could hold out here until Eliwood arrives''. The group found some horses, and Florina's pegasus after getting some swords and lances for the four. "All right, Florina and Lyn take the pegasus, Sain and Erk and Kent and Guy take two of the horses, while I take one, and we all hurry back to the camp. Agreed?", Wil asked. ''There is a....small problem with that'', Erk said a now a bit nervous. ''I never learned to ride''. "No problem, you just let me handle the reigns, and you hold on tight", Sain said. Actually Erk very much preferred Kent as his rider but knowing how ridiculous it was to make a problem out of that, he kept still as he climbed on Sain's horse. Soon, guards started to rush over. "Time to move!", Wil said as they began to vamoose.

As they rode off, Erk shot a fireball at the pursuing forces to slow them down. Blocking their way to meet up with Eliwood was the commander Bauker and his guard. "He looks big", Kent said. "We've had bigger!", Sain replied back as both prepared their weapons. Meanwhile, Wil was trying to shoot at the knight's legs to slow him down. ''For the glory of Laus, I won't let you pass!'', as Bauker's large armor made it hard to damage him. ''Prepare to die!'', he shouted as the knight grabbed a javelin and threw it in the sky toward the pegasus that was carrying Florina and Lyn. Thankfully, Florina dodged it, but his forces were gaining. "Hey Erk a little fire, if you would?", Guy asked. ''All right here it co-what!'', Erk only narrowly avoided another javelin, but in doing so fell from Sain's horse. ''Ah, a mage, I need to take him out quickly'', as Bauker charged at Erk with his Lance but was blocked by Kent. "Sheesh! When is the main army going to attack?!", Sain grumbled as he began to drive off Bauker. ''Soon, there are a lot of soldiers so that's why it's taking so long'', Erk said as he shot a lightning bolt at Bauker. As Bauker fell down from the bolt, Sain scooped Erk back onto his horse and the group hurried away.

Not very far away, Eliwood's army was fighting the forces of Laus. "No rest for the weary", Wil said as they drew close to Eliwood's army. "That is fine", Lyn said. "I wouldn't have it any other way", she said. ''Kent! Sain! Flank them!'', Lyn ordered ''Florina! Fly above them and dive down when I make an opening'', as Lyn took out her sword and charged at the Laus solders. ''Well, time to see how Lady Priscilla is doing'' as Erk too attacked the Laus forces in the hopes of reaching her. Wil and Guy then joined in the assault. Thankfully, Priscilla was in the back, healing others. ''Huh? Who are those guys?'', as while destroying everything that looked at him, Hector noticed the Caelin soldiers. ''Must be the lady of the castle, I'd better help her out a bit'', Hector started fighting his way toward them. ''Lady Priscilla are you all right?'', Erk asked. ''I trust no harm has been done to you while I was gone?'', he asked. Lyn noticed a strapping young man in armor and a axe coming towards her. "His armor doesn't look like Laus", she noted. "No, I am fine, but thank you for checking on me Erk", Priscilla said. Meanwhile, while Wil was fighting, he saw something out of the corner of his eye: A young, green-haired girl with a bow. "It...it couldn't be", he thought to himself.

''Probably because I'm from Ostia'', Hector said. ''My name is Hector and O'm helping out Eliwood for a bit, I take it your name is Ly-beat it!'', as he roughly Axed an interrupted enemy. ''That's good to hear'', Erk said. ''I don't really like to put you in danger but we need a healer a bit closer to the front line, just say the word and I'll lead you there'', he suggested. ''Take this!'', Rebecca yelled as she shot the enemy. ''And this! And you too!''. "We'll introduce ourselves later then", Lyn said. "Well, if you want to protect me, I will do so at once", Priscilla said. As Wil continued to fight, he wondered if that girl was his old childhood friend. ''Yeah that's for the best'', Hector said ''Ah, the commander I see! Cover me Lyn!'', as Hector ran toward Bauker.

''Hey you watch out!'', as Rebecca skillfully shot an enemy arrow away that was this close to hit Wil's throat. Lyn checked around as Hector charged the Armor Knight. But as Rebecca did this, Wil fired an arrow and she felt it whizz past her ear....and right into a Fighter was about to ambush her. "Same!", Wil replied back. With his heavy armor and great axe, Hector was every bit Bauker's equal. ''Hey, nice on handsome!'', Rebecca winked. She truly didn't recognise him. As the fight started, the advantaged proved to be in Hector's favour, due to their choice of weapons. "Thanks!", Wil said as both he and Rebecca went back-to-back and continued the fight, guarding eachother. He'd ask once everything was done.

''You are good Bauker, I'll give you that'', Hector said. ''Your peerless might would have made you a General if you were born in Ostia'', he noted. Erk smiled a bit when he saw it from a distance but afterwords focused on guarding Priscilla. ''Phew! That's it, I'm out of arrows'', Rebecca said. ''And out of enemies too, it seems'', she added. "Gah! Must...Stay...Strong!", Bauker croaked as he was losing. "Well, we could always go retrieve them out of the bodies", Wil said. This was a test to see if the girl really was Rebecca, as the old hunter that lived in their village that helped teach both archery told them something about this in the past. ''But, I guess that also makes you a threat'', Hector said as he raised his axe. ''So, I must finish you!'', he threatened. ''Don't be silly! Those arrows are all messed up if you take them out of the bodies!'', Rebecca said. "Do your worst!", Baucker said as he charged...then Hector did indeed do so with one powerful swing of his Axe. She passed the test. "Indeed", Wil said as the auxiliary force cleaned up. "By the way, is your name Rebecca?", he asked.

''And that's pretty much the end of them'', Hector said ''Damn, my brother will never let me hear the end of me not forcefully recruiting this man'', he noted. ''Yup, Rebecca of Pherae'', she answered. Lyn finished the forces around Bauker as the battle concluded. "Er...this will sound strange, but I don't suppose you have an older brother named Dan, do you?", Wil asked. ''And that's that'', Hector said. ''Hey Eliwood! You are not hurt right?'', he asked. ''It's over'', Erk said. ''You did a good job, Lady Priscilla''. ''Huh how do you know?'' Rebecca answered "I am fine", Eliwood replied as he came to Lyn. "Lady Lyndis, are you all right?", he asked. "Thank you, Erk", Priscilla replied. "Come on, I couldn't have become that much more handsome since then", Wil said as he fluffed his hairstyle in a way he used to have when he was younger. ''Yes, thanks to you'', Lyn answered. ''But my grandfather and our soldiers.....'', she trailed off. ''Wait....Will? That small, geeky kid that always followed Dan around?'', Rebecca asked. ''Wauw! You've grown!''. "...Are still inside", Eliwood finished. "Yes, this part of the battle is over, but another is coming", he noted."Yup, and so have you Rebecca!", Wil said with a happy grin. "You were so short, I wondered if you were ever going to spring up". ''Hold on grandfather'', Lyn quietly said to herself. ''Grrrr! Wil, that's not true!'', Rebecca pouted.

"Okay, okay, still I'm glad to see you've become a fine young woman and archer", Wil said. ''Well...your no slouch either'', Rebecca blushed. "Why...thank you", Wil said, also with a slight blush. Back then, Rebecca was like his little sister too, but she really had grown up, and Wil was starting to wonder about things now. ''It's good meeting you here! Let's have each others backs from now on!'', Rebecca said cheerfully. "Sounds good, Rebecca", Wil said as everybody began to prepare for the siege.

In the Caelin throne room, Darin was freaking out. ''Ephidel! How could this happen?! You told me Laus was invincible! That I was invincible!'', he yelled. ''And now this boy came along and I'm trapped in this castle! Explain yourself!'', as with his success decreasing so did Ephidel's hold on him. "You yourself still are invincible, Lord Darin. It's just Bauker was not, and he paid the price for his weakness", Ephidel said, starting to spin his web. "And Eliwood's troops have not completely surrounded the castle, as noted for the gate used for delivery of goods is still empty of their presence. Take what is needed from the castle, and we shall meet with Lord Nergal, so he can assist you in what way he can".

''Yes...Bauker...was weak'', Darin relaxed somewhat. ''But what about Laus? My land and my troops? Who will protect me if I sacrifice them here?!'', he ranted. "If Eliwood is here, Laus is probably lightly held, but if you are worried about men, this is not a problem. With a wave of Lord Nergal's hands, a sizable portion of his troops can be yours to command", Ephidel said, as the Black Fang had become more then just a band of assassins, as hordes of mercenaries and brigands answered his call now, among others. ''B-but my men...are mine, mine alone'', as even Darin didn't felt completely at ease with abandoning his men, again. ''Darin, don't be a fool! He's deceiving you!'', Hausten said sharply. ''For what you have done you may never be forgiven...but it's never too late to try. I will talk to Eliwood and the Lycian League at your behalf! I know your situation'', as Hausten had seen more then enough to see this was all Ephidel's doing. ''You will be punished but there is no reason to throw away your life or your lands! Let me help you!'', but this of course didn't sit well with Ephidel. Suddenly, the cloaked monster stabbed Hausten with a dagger. "Ah, my apologies, Lord Darin, it seemed my dagger slipped there", Ephidel said with pure malice. "Anyways, please don't be worried, Lord Nergal still favors you, and what he has is yours as well. So, if he has men for you, he will easily turn them over into your complete service, Lord Darin", he sleazily manipulated him.

''Hey, Wil? Who was that girl?'' Erk asked. Er....um....uh...j-j-just a girl", Wil said nervously. ''Rather young don't you think?'', Erk said. ''At least too young for you to be blushing like that'', he chastized Wil. "Uh...she's....older then she looks. I'd say maybe a year younger then me", Wil said. "All right, fine, she's that girl I grew up with I told you last night", he broke down. ''Ah yes the..uh stray horse'' Erk said referring to his lie ''Right?''. "Yeah. Enough said", Wil replied. ''As you wish'', Erk said. "Thanks", Wil said as he now was painfully aware of his Rebecca-made blush. ''Now lets get the the siege at the gates'' Erk said. "Right!", Wil said.

''Y-your.......'', Darin seemed genuinely horrified at Ephidel stabbing Hausten. ''This is....you trapped me!'', as Hausten dying during his invasion would surely doom Darin. ''I have...I must..must!'', he stammered. "Doomed? Lord Darin, you must be mistaken, not a single peep of anything you have done has left Lycia. In fact, you can thank Marquiss Uther of Ostia for that. With how new he is, and with recent troubles with the Bernese Royal Family, he can't afford to show any weaknesses, so he has covered up everything that's been happening in Lycia as of late, which means, you are still safe, Lord Darin", Ephidel explained. ''Not from Ostia'', Darin answered. ''Not without the black fang....without you'', as with about every Lycian house wanting his head and with his army gone, Darin had no choice but to go along with Ephidel which would slowly destroy his last pieces of sanity. "Ah yes, the Fang. Before I came into the chambers, I sent an envoy to one of my...contacts, and a force is coming here to escort you to safety, Lord Darin", Ephidel said.

''Yes let us be...off'', and with one last look at Hausten, Darin left the room. Ephidel however went to the dungeon. "Imbecile", Ephidel thought to himself. He then came onto Bernard, a powerful General. "You. You are in charge of guarding this castle until Lord Darin escapes", he told the knight. ''E-escapes?'', Bernard asked. ''But the battle is still going! What about us?...no, never mind. It will be done my lord'', the general sighed. As the terror slinked away, Bernard knew he was doomed to die now, but he would at least defy Eliwood's troops if nothing else.

Lucius was still shackled to the wall of his cell he shared with Raven. He hoped Lyn was all right. Their cell door opened and Ephidel walked in, followed by a soldier. ''Free the mercenary, gag the boy'', he ordered. He wanted to corrupt Raven to their side and didn't need Lucius playing the mercenary's conscious. "What's this about?", Raven asked tersely as a soldier tied a cloth tightly over Lucius' mouth. ''At the invasion of Cealin, you displayed great skill'', Ephidel said in a honeyed tone. ''In fact if we hadn't taken your friend hostage, the invasion would have been a difficult task'', he said. ''Mmphhh!'', Lucius made a shameful noise. ''I have contacted my master and he has agreed you are perfect for the Fang'', Ephidel said. ''You'll be respected and rewarded as a noble as Cornwall deserves''. Raven cocked an eyebrow at this. How could this figure know his past so well? But, Raven was no idiot, as he knew if he refused right now, Lucius' life was forfeit. "Who do you need dead?", he asked.

''Ah, so you realized about your friend'', Ephidel showed a monstrous smile, he would never respect humans but those with a brain were humans he despised slightly less. ''I want you to join the defense of this castle, the whole army of that troublesome noble Eliwood is your enemy'', he said. ''MPPHHHHHHHH!'', Lucius screamed horrified, as they had a debt to Lord Hausten. ''I assure you the Fang is very good for their members'', Ephidel went on. ''As proof of our friendship, I'll hand you this gift; Marquiss Ostia's younger brother is amongst the enemy''. And Lucius' eyes went wide from shock. ''Mmmphhhhhh!'', as he shook his head, there was no way he could hold Raven back now, especially with that gag on. "Is he now?", Raven asked, as it was Ostia that was responsible for the fall of the House of Cromwell. "All right, give me a blade and I'll do it", he said. Although he was lying about this, there was a part of Raven that wanted to see this Ostian nobleman for his own eyes. ''Nomphhhhhhhh!'', Lucius yelled trying to break free from his chains. ''Very good, I'll inform my master of your cooperation'', but actually Ephidel planned to leave Raven to die as a distraction. ''Guard the hostage'', he ordered the soldier. As Raven was tossed a sword and Ephidel left, Raven turned to the guard. "Hey, you. See him? That's my healer. I don't find many as good as him, so if I see he's hurt, you lose a hand", he told him as he set out. He would hang back until the invaders came in. Lucius muffledly yelled after him trying to make him stop this.

"Hey Erk, there are these two figures still imprisoned in the castle. Some angry mercenary guy, and that nice, pretty blonde lady with the light magic who we met a year prior. Back me up, I'll go find them", Wil said. ''Wil that was a...a man'', Erk said. ''Well, all their conversations must have been awkward'', he thought as he followed Wil. "No way!", Wil said. "Well, I mean Lucius is a odd name for a girl, but, I mean, he's so dainty and everything!", as Wil shot down a few guards while saying that.

Elsewhere, Raven could hear some footsteps approaching as the guards were being defeated. ''You! Release the two prisoners, you cur!'', Erk demanded when he saw Raven, unaware who he was. ''Refuse and we shall be forced to eliminate you!'', he threatened. Unlike Erk, Wil recognized Raven. "Oh hey, you got out! Say, where's Lucius?", he asked. "So, I guess you two are with that Eliwood guy's forces, right?", Raven asked.

''Yes we are'', as since Raven held his sword in their direction, Erk didn't relax just yet. ''Drop your weapon and we will get you to safety'', yhe young mage did recognize Raven somewhat but as far as he knew, he never met him, maybe he knew someone that looked a bit like him. "They have Lucius", Raven said. "And I want to see the Ostian nobleman among you. Stand aside", he added. "What's up?", Wil said. "We are here, and can help him!", he told Raven.

''I don't think he wants our help'', Erk said. ''I suspect he wants to kill Lord Hector'', "You aren't wrong there", Raven said. As such, all three assumed a combat position, but Wil was conflicted as he was the one who wanted to get Lucius to safety, as he didn't know much about Raven, and maybe he could talk some sense into him. Erk wasn't conflicted at all. Everyone who was an enemy just had to be defeated, problem solved. ''I'm afraid we can't allow that'', as a lightning bolt appeared before Raven's feet. "So be it", Raven said as he began to charge. Meanwhile, Wil was trying to find a way to subdue Raven, when he had an idea. "Erk! Guide him to the wall!".

''That's! A bit! Hard! Like this!'', as Erk had his hands full with dodging leaving him unable to do that or even attack. Indeed, it was rather hard for both to do so, but after a while, they did and Wil shot an arrow and pinned the cloth of Raven's shirt to the wall via the arrow. Now he had to do some more. ''Good move Wil!''. Erk said ''Lightning!'', as he pulled a critical hit. As the lighting disarmed Raven of his sword, Wil planted three more arrows that pinned Raven completely to the wall. "...And here I thought you were just an idiot", Raven said to Wil. "All right, you won, finish me off", he said. ''With pleasure'', Erk said as he prepared for the final blow, but Priscilla was near however.

"Erk! Are you okay?", Priscilla asked as she came close....then she noticed Raven. As Will saw her, he noticed the two looked rather similar. "....You?!?", Raven said suddenly.

''Lady Priscilla get back!''m Erk mistood Raven's surprise for hatred and quickly stood between them. ''I would appreciate it if you didn't snarl at my employee like that'', he said coldly. "....Raymond? Is that you?", Priscilla asked. "I....I once was", Raven replied back. Seeing on how confusing everything was getting now, Wil hung back and guarded them all while they sorted it out. ''Lady Priscilla?'', Erk asked confused. ''Whats the matter?''. "I think this man is my brother, Erk", Priscilla said. Both Wil and Erk gave her a look of bewilderment. Raven slumped into his arrows, as this wasn't exactly the greatest look for him right now. ''He is? But this man is so....rough'', as aside from appearance Erk couldn't believe these two were possibly related. "She had her own way, I had mine", Raven said as he wasn't so lucky as to have found adoptive parents like her's. "Uh, hey, not to ruin the family reunion, but there is still a battle going on", Wil said. "What are we going to do?".

''If Priscilla trust this man then I have no choice'', as Erk removed the arrows. ''Lady Priscilla, please keep him in check'', he asked. "If you don't trust me, tie me up", Raven said. "By the way, Lucius is down the corridor in the dungeons", he added. "I'll make sure you are safe, Raymond", Priscilla reassured him. "Raven", he corrected her. ''Wil, could you free Lucius?'', Erk asked. ''Should I tie up your brother, Lady Priscilla?'', he then turned to his protectee. "On it!", Wil said as he dashed off. "....I am unsure", Priscilla said. "But, I leave it to you".

''Okay, I'll do it then'', Erk said. ''Come with me''m he said to Raven and lead him to Merlinus, their newly gained supply depot. ''Mphhhhhhh! Hhhmhp!'', in his cell Lucius was still desperately struggling. He had to convince Raymond to stop all of this. Although he remained unbound still, Raven complied, while not saying a word. The area where Lucius was heard a knock on the door. "Hey! We won! They are fleeing! Come out, we need some help!", a voice said. As the door opened and the two guards came out, arrows welcomed them. "Well, I didn't say it was you guys who won, did I?", Wil said slyfully. ''Hhhhmumph!'', Lucius made a surprised yelp, as he surely didn't expect this! He wasn't sure if he approved of Wil doing it like this though. ''Mmphhh hhmph mmhph!'', Lucius yelled in a muffled voice at the archer. Wil got the keys and unlocked Lucius' shackled and ungagged him. "Hello, Lucius, long time no see. Are you OK?", Wil asked. ''I thank you'', Lucius said. Truthfully he was anything but okay, as he was worried sick about what Raven was doing and he had stayed in this cell for days which wasn't good for his frail health, but he couldn't bare to actually tell that to his savior though. ''Yes, I am fine Wil, and it's so good to see you again'', he said.

''Okay, now don't move to much'', as Erk bound Raven's hands and feet together and tied a large amount of rope around his arms, chest and legs. Raven did so without much complaining. "Great. Well, the battle is still going, as far as I can tell, but don't worry, Raven is safe and sound. So, would you like an escort to safety?", Wil asked. ''Raven is safe? That's a relief'', Lucius sighted happily. ''Thank you Wil, I don't have any light magic tomes and I'm feeling a bit drained by my stay here so I'll gladly accept you as an escort'', he said politely.

''After the battle is over you have to explain yourself to Lord Eliwood'', Erk said. ''Lady Priscilla might speak on your behalf but you did fight for Laus so things could get rough for you'', he scolded Raven. "Okay, follow me", Wil said. As they traversed the castle, Wil said this: "By the way, you know that mage from a year ago? Erk, right? He wanted me to ask you if you were a boy or a girl", he lied. "Fine", Raven said. "By the way, you are Priscilla's guard, right?", he asked. ''Erk always struck me as a wise young man, he still does'', Lucius said. ''I find it difficult to believe he would ask such a thing but yes, I am a boy'', as he was used to the question so he answered without a hint of annoyance.

''Yes, I'm Lady Priscilla's escort until my contract ends'', Erk answered. ''I received great trust from my master by receiving this contract'', he said. "Well, you know, he's such a bookworm he sometimes doesn't notice such things about people", Wil continued to lie his pants off. "All right. Remember, if you cause her to be hurt or steal her heart, then break it, I will track you down and break both your arms. Fair enough?", Raven said.

''Ah yes, he always did seemed a bit detached from people'', Lucius naively believed it. "Well, you know...", Wil trailed off as he got Lucius outside the castle. ''I know.....'' Lucius answered.

''W-what!? Hold your tongue, cur!'', Erk said extremely offended. "Good. Glad we agree. Okay, the battle is still going, I see, so you can go back to it and leave the mustached man here to guard me", Raven said, also referring to Merlinus. ''Great. Lady Priscilla's brother is a jerk'', Erk said to himself as he went back to the battle. Wil scouted the area. "Hmm, is that him over there?", he said, pointing to the caravan that belonged to Merlinus. "Another time, Hector", Raven thought to himself. ''Lord Raymond!'', Lucius rushed to his side. "Ah, Lucius, you are safe", Raven said. "Hey, you. Archer. Good job for saving him", he said to Wil. "Thanks, I guess?", Wil replied. ''Yes how about you?'', Lucius asked worriedly. ''You are captured but you don't seem to have any wounds'', he said. "I am fine", Raven said. "Stay. Rest up and keep me company", he told Lucius. ''I'l do that'', the monk said. ''I want to repay this debt but for now I'll just get in the way if I join the fight''. "Hmm", Raven said. He couldn't show much emotion, but he was happy both Priscilla and Lucius were around him and safe on the inside.

Erk had made it to the throne room where the three lord where fighting Bernard, but Bernard's thick armor held him up well. ''I never used my magic against someone like that before'', Erk said to himself. ''Still, he's got a lot of armor so magic has to be effective'', as he took out his lighning tome against him. ''You there! See if you can match me'', he boasted. Wil ran as fast as he could, as the elite forces finally began to chip Bernard down to size. Erk launched a magic barrage at Bernard, giving Hector an opening to strike. The general only barely blocked his axe with his own. With Bernard's needing his Axe to fend off Hector, Lyn could attack without fear of being hit with her Sacaean blade, the Mani Katti. She charged at the general and inflicted a critical hit.

"HAH!", Wil said as he jumped in, Crossbow in hand...only to see Barnard fall. "Oh. Ah, well, at least it's over", he said. ''Are you for real?'', Erk asked a bit annoyed .''Ah well, you can kill the enemy leader next time'', he said off-hand. "Well, at least we won", Wil said. "Indeed", Eliwood replied. As the castle was taken, a call was sent out to find Marquiss Hausten, which he was found, wounded, but still alive. He was then healed, and then sent to bed to recover. Lyn called a meeting then to thank Eliwood and his troops. ''Blast, that snake Darin got away'', Hector growled. ''But it's good to know Caelin is safe for the moment'', he said. "Yes. We will rest tonight here with the blessing of Lady Lyndis and then we set out on his trail", Eliwood told everybody.

Afterwords, Wil wandered around a bit. He was very happy Lyn was safe, although he was still a bit red when Lyn gave him a kiss as a show of thanks during the ceremony. Suddenly, he accidentally bumped into Rebecca. "Er...Hi, Rebecca. Long time no see", Wil said. ''If by long you mean not a few minutes ago'', Rebecca smiled cheekily. "Yeah. Anyways, how are you? It's been so long we really should catch up now that we have a little time", Wil said. ''I'm fine but I miss home a bit'', Rebecca said. ''Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be here but it's home ya know.'' "Yeah. It's been a few years since I last was in Pherae...", Wil trailed off as the two found a spare bedroom. Rebecca got an idea and made bit of a bratty smile. She could use this room for a nice ambush against Wil. Wil was lost in thought. He was wondering whatever happened to Dan, and so he turned around to ask Rebecca. ''Huh? Is there something on your mind Wil?'', Rebecca asked. "Yeah, but I'm not sure how to say it. Give me some time and I'll come back to ask, okay?", Wil said. ''Sure thing Will. Say can we wait with the old memories for a bit?'', Rebecca asked. ''I have something else I want to show you when you come in again'', she said. "If you wish", Wil said as he bowed, then left. Normally, he would suspect something, but not tonight.

''I wonder if Wil still remembers our hunting lessons'', Rebecca smiled. ''Probably not!'', she laughed as she prepared the trap. About thirty minutes later, Wil knocked on the door. ''You can come in Wil!'', Rebecca yelled cheerfully. A net was placed above the door that would fall down on Will as soon as he entered. Wil opened the door and a net fell on him. "Rebecca, run! We are under attack!", he ironically said. ''No, I think we aren't'', Rebecca smiled. ''You and Dan where always so mean to me so I thought I'd return the favor'', she said. "Mean? I was always a nice guy!", Wil said as Rebecca dragged the net more in and locked the door.

''You and Dan tied me to trees...let's see, about once a week?'', Rebecca said. ''And I remember being tied to the back of that cow too!'', she added. "...I don't remember the cow", Wil said. ''Well I do!'', Rebecca pouted. ''So, I thought I'd get you back for once, sounds good?'', she asked. "You could have just asked nicely, you know?", Wil said. "Women are something of a weakness of mine." ''Hahahaha, you pervert'', Rebecca laughed and took out some rope. She planned to tie Will in a way she had seen Dan do to him once. "Oh, and tell me you aren't going to enjoy this just for revenge", Wil replied back. ''Nope, I'm not'', Rebecca smiled. ''You'll find out the reason one day, promise'', she lied. Rebecca took off Wil's jacket, then bound Will's hands and feet, then adding another rope to make in into a hogtie.

''Does this let loose any memories of Dan?'', Rebecca asked as she pushed Wil on his side and took an apple out of her pocket. "Actually, that's what I was worried about", Wil said. "He's not here with you, is he?" ''Of course not'', Rebecca said. ''He's still on that journey of you two remember!'', she added. "I haven't seen him in little over a year after parting ways in Badon", Wil said. "I thought he went back to Pherae".

''.....''', Rebecca looked really worried but soon suppressed it. ''Ah well, he'll be back'', she laughed a bit fakely. ''Well if you remember Dan you'll remember this'', as she stuffed the apple in Will's mouth. Once after an argument, Dan had tied Wil up this way and used him to attract wild animals he could capture. After Rebecca tied a rope around Wil's jaw so he just couldn't spit out the apple, he tested her bonds and deduced they worked quite well.

''Hahahahaha! Awwwww, it's just like before!'', Rebecca laughed. ''You are no longer that scrawny little kid but otherwise it looks the same as then!'', she said. Wil wanted to say "And you aren't that little dwarf girl anymore", but good luck with the apple. ''Hey! I got an idea Wil!'', Rebecca said. ''Just like Dan, I could use you to bait the animals around here'', though the most dangerous animal in Caelin was the ''dreaded'' goat so Wil should be fine. Wil wondered how Rebecca was going to cart him through the castle unnoticed. Plus, he'd rather this be kept a secret. So, he unleashed "Operation: Puppy Dog Eyes" upon Rebecca. ''You are too old for that Wil'', Rebecca sighed. ''And it's supposed to be like this'', as the girl gave a perfect example of how puppy eyes should be. "Damn, she's good!", Wil thought to herself, as that usually worked in the past on her. ''So! Let's go make friends with the animals, pleaaaase!'', as Rebecca teasingly used a little girl's voice and her puppy eyes. Wil deeply regretted using the ol' soft eyes, as Rebecca's superior style was winning him over. But how could she sneak him out unnoticed?

Rebecca realized what he was thinking. ''Oh, don't underestimate me Wil! I got it'', as she took out a large sack which she covered Wil with. "St. Elimne, please don't let anyone see me like this", Wil thought to himself. ''Nghhh! Oof! Aaaaaah! You are heavy, Will!'', Rebecca complained as she dragged the sack outside. "You are weak!", Wil tried to say back. ''Weak?! Maybe you are just fat!'', Rebecca said as she dragged the sack through the castle gates. "Your hair is stupid!", Wil childishly replied back, as best he could. ''Okay out with you!''. Rebecca roughly opened the sack amd took Will out of it. ''Let's see if the animals like that attitude!'', she said. As Rebecca hid behind a tree, the night was fairly calm and peaceful. ''Oh, wait a minute!'', Rebecca untied Wil's feet and undid Wil of his boots, then retying them, hoping the approaching animals would lick it. ''Could you make some noise Wil?'', she asked. Although Wil protested the removal of his boots, as that pair did feel rather nice, he decided not to just to be mean to Rebecca. After a while, some goats did appear and like Rebecca hoped started licking Wil's feet. Wil got the shivers at their tongues on their feet, although one helpful, if not for being hungry, goat did snatch the apple out of Wil's mouth and began to eat it. ''Hmph! He didn't have to do that!'', Rebecca pouted.

Much to Wil's probable horror, Erk had left the castle for a stroll. "I can hear someone coming! Quick, hide me!", Wil said to Rebecca. ''Okay just stay still while I do it!'', but sadly Rebecca had the same problem as before. Wil was just too heavy for her! "Maybe if you would just freakin' untie me, this could go a whole lot smoother", Wil suggested. ''But that would...'', as Rebecca got interrupted. ''Excuse me but..what are you two doing?'', Erk asked when he saw them. "Ah, hello Erk. Me and Rebecca were out for a stroll when I fell down and hurt my back, and she's massaging it to make it feel better", Wil quickly lied. Thankfully, Rebecca was in front of him to obscure the ropes. Erk was a smart boy however and noticed how nervous the two were. ''You know, I don't care enough to judge you two for it'', he said. ''So you can tell me'', Erk told them. "All right, she threw a net over me when I wanted to say Hello, dragged me here, tied me up, and made me King of the Goats", Wil explained with a sigh. "Way to go there, Becky", he said. ''Wil!'', Rebecca yelled in panic. ''It's really none of my business'', Erk sighed. ''I'm leavi-wow! H-hey, unhand me!'', as in panic Rebecca had attacked Erk and wrestled him to the ground. Normally Erk would be able to fight her off but he was so surprised, she quickly overpowered him.

Rebecca quickly bound Erk's hands and feet together. Wil only shook his head. "You really are cute, but crazy, Becky. Oh yeah, and sorry Erk", he added. ''R-release me girl!'', an embarrassed Erk shouted. ''Wil get your friend in line!", he asked Wil. ''You know Wil...your friend is pretty handsome'', Rebecca smiled. ''What! You are jesting right?!'', Erk yelled. "Might as well roll with it, Erk, as once she's in this mood, there's no stopping her. Oh yes, while I still can speak, could you put my boots back on, Rebecca? The goats seem to be eating the grass now to get the taste of my feet out of their mouths", Wil said. ''R-roll with it! This is embarrassing!'', Erk hissed as Rebecca put Wil's boots on after untying then retying his feet again. ''I'm not even supposed to be in this state!'', he said. ''He complaints too much'', Rebecca said.

"Thanks, Becky", Wil said. He wanted to say thanks to Erk too, as now that she was focused on him, Wil could now use this time to get the knife hidden in his boot to escape. "Listen Rebecca, I still have a lot of work to do so unt-aaaahhh! Knock it off! W-what are you! Stooop!'', Erk yelled as Rebecca lifted up his cloak and started spanking him on his bottom. ''I said you complain too much! And that goat just ate my gag'', she said. As Rebecca started to spank Erk, Wil, thanks to being hog tied, slid his fingers inside his left boot, and grab the knife hilt and began sliding it out. ''I aaaaah! Y-you cann't do owowowowowow! F-fine I'l hold my tongue! I'll hold my tongue!'', Erk screamed. As Erk pleaded, Wil cut the rope tying his wrists and ankles together, and started cutting his hands free. Rebecca hadn't noticed. ''Good! Now just keep still until I untie you, okay handsome?'', as Erk simply growled.

Wil managed to cut his hands free and then his feet. He then sneaked up on Rebecca, hooked one of her arms with his, and hand-gagged her. "Did you forget me, Becky?", he asked. ''Mhhhph? MMPHHHHHHHHH!'', Rebecca screamed, struggling and kicking fiercely but she was no match for Wil. It could have been such a nice night together", Wil said as he wrestled Rebecca to the ground. "Catching up, having a couple of laughs together", as her wrists were bound. "Maybe a more consensual tie-up", as her ankles were next. "But noooooooo, you had to go all crazy on me", as Wil then hogtied her. "And you had to drag poor Erk into this", he added. ''Aaaaaaah! Wil this isn't funny!'', Rebecca screamed. ''It wasn't supposed to go like this! Untie me right noooooow!'', she screeched. ''Uh can you please free me now?'', Erk said. "Yeah", Wil said as he cut Erk free. "Now, I could leave you to the goats, but I will not to prove I'm the better man. That, and you wouldn't be that cute if you smelled like a goat's mouth. But, what should I do now?".

Rebecca loudly made it clear he should untie her. ''Ow my ears'', Erk said annoyed. ''Find her a gag please!'', he asked Wil. Wil then took Rebecca's head scarf off and tied it around her mouth. ''No! Wil! Don't you dare! Dommphhh'', as Rebecca's protest was cut off by the gag. ''MPHHHHHH!'', she screamed at the two. ''Much better'', Erk said relieved. "I'm kind of conflicted. One one hand, she did this because she wanted revenge on the times me and her bro picked on her, and I realized we were in the wrong. On the other, she dragged me out her and let goats lick my bare feet. What should we do with her, Erk?", Wil asked. ''Let the goats lick her as a lesson until she promises to never do this again'', Erk said. ''MMPHHHHHHHH!'', Rebecca shook her head at that. "Hmmm....no. Two wrongs don't make a right. Help me into the sack, I'll bring her back into the castle and figure something out. Agree never to speak about this again?", Wil asked. Erk would never admit that Rebecca wrestled him down and tied him up ''Y-yeah. if you two do the same'', he said. "Agreed", Wil said as Rebecca was slid into the sack. "All right, I'll take her back into the castle". ''I'l go back to my stroll'', Erk said. Rebecca wisely decided not to make any sound as Will returned her.

Wil snuck back in and brought Rebecca into the room where this all started. He then gently removed her from the sack. "Welcome back", he said. ''Nggghhhhh!'', Rebecca growled. Wil then removed the head scarf from Rebecca's mouth. "What do you want done to you?", he asked. ''Come on Wil! This isn't fair! Please untie me'', as Rebecca played the puppy eyes again. "I will...just after I tickle you", Wil said as he started to tickle Rebecca's stomach. ''N-no! Will nohahahahahahaha!'', Rebecca laughed. Wil smiled as one hand stayed on Rebecca's stomach, while another moved to her armpit. ''Hihihihahahaha! Nooooo!'', Rebecca laughed. It was just like old times. ''Okay, I'm soooory!'', she pleaded. Wil wanted to keep going, but he did feel bad, so he stopped. "And I'm sorry all the times me and Dan picked on you in our youth. Call it even?", Wil said as he ruffled Rebecca's hair in a friendly way. ''Gee, you got a biiiig headstart and you talk about being even?'', Rebecca joked. ''Fine, fine'', she accepted. Wil smiled and started to untie Rebecca.

''Look at my wrists! They are all red!'', Rebecca complained. "Then wear gloves like me!", Wil said back. ''Those don't suit me Wil'', Rebecca said. "Then you are just going to have to live with it!", Wil replied back. ''Humph! Meany!'', as Rebecca stuck her tongue out toward her friend. Wil chuckled and gave Rebecca a small hug. "You've grown up only physically, it would seem", he teased her. '''I could say the same about you!'', Rebecca said, offended. ''In fact you've aged backwards in maturity!'', she declared. "What?!? I was the one who could have let goats lick your feet, face and stomach! But, I wanted to be the better one, morally!", he replied back in a very childish, argutive tone. ''If that's so then why did you tie me up in the first place?!'', Rebecca yelled. "I dunno, because you're cute, all indignant and struggling like that?", Wil accidentally confessed. ''Huh!? What are you....HUH?!'', a blushing Rebecca said surprised. "I just...said that out loud, didn't I?", Wil asked, also blushingly. ''Yeah...Yeah you did'', Rebecca said. "Well...is the feeling mutual?", Wil asked with a cheesy grin. ''I..uh need some time to think about it'', Rebecca said shyly. ''But I do agree you are cute too'', she told him. "Hey, that's good enough for me", Wil said also kind of shyly.

Meanwhile, Erk was wandering the countryside. ''Do I hear voices?'', he thought. ''I thought the citizens would stay inside after what happened'', Erk noted. "Hey, look at him. We need more people to sell to the pirates, think he'll do?", a Brigand asked another. ''Hmmm, good looks, nice clothes, must be a noble boy'', a bandit said. ''Yeah, he'll do''. Five brigands leaped from the bushes and surrounded Erk. "Give up and save yourself some pain, boy!", one of them told Erk. Where did they come from! They were obviously bandits. ''So you thought you could use the chaos here to your advantage?'', Erk asked. ''Disgusting pigs, here is my answer!'', as he shot a fireball at the leader. Of course, Erk hadn't quite noticed he was completely surrounded, so one of the bandits clocked him on the back of the head. ''N-no!'', Erk collapsed. "Tie him up", the new leader said. The bandits bound Erk's hands and his upper body. They tied a cloth over his mouth and placed him into a cage-like wagon.

"All right, to Badon!", the brigands said as they rode off. ''Mphhh'', Erk awoke with a muffled sound. What happened? 'MPHHHH!'', he reacted in shock when he found he himself in a riding cage, completely immobilized. ''Hey, the kid's awake'', a bandit said. "Who cares? Not much he can do!", another one said. ''Mphhh nghhhh mphhhh!'', Erk demanded to know where they would take him. "Might as well get it out of your system. Fargus will not like a cabin boy who gives him lip", another brigand said. ''Cabin boy!'', Erk thought shocked, as considering the circumstances that was just another term for slavery. He wouldn't end up like that! ''Mmphhhh nhhhhh!'', the young mage protested, but the brigands just laughed off Erk's struggle. ''Ghhhmph!'', Erk groaned. Sadly being bound and caged like this meant he couldn't do anything to escape his sorry fate.

It wasn't too long before the bandits reached Badon. Erk could see the cheerful port town of Badon. As the bandit-driven wagon rode trough the streets, the citizens all hid in fear. ''No one here is coming to my aid it seems'', Erk thought bitterly. It wasn't too long before the brigands had came to a massive ship in port. ''Hahaha! Look, your new home boy!'', a bandit laughed. Erk just glared at his captors. An old, but still quite big Pirate approached them. "So, what's this you have here?", he asked. ''Just look in the cage'', a bandit said. ''Some noble kid we nabbed near Caelin'', he told him. ''Nghhh!'', Erk groaned at the group, as the fact that they keep referring to him as a noble annoyed him. "I see. And I presume you want to hand him over to me?", the old Pirate asked. ''Yeah! We heard you're a famous pirate'', a bandit said. ''And all pirates needs slaves to work on their ship!'', he added. "Hmm, I have a price for you then", he said as suddenly he took his axe out and cut down the brigands, lightning-quick. "Criminals these days have forgotten what Fargus the Black Shark is if they think I'm some two-bit slaver", he declared. ''B-but your a pirate!'', the last remaining bandit yelled. ''Oh, I-i get it! You don't agree with the price!'', he said desperate, forgetting they hadn't even offered him one. ''O-okay! I'll give you a special bargain!'', he pleaded for his life. ''Idiot!'', Erk said muffled. It was clear this man was no slaver.

Fargus's axe answered for him. "Dart, throw these morons into the sea. Maybe the fish can profit from them", he commanded to a young man next to him. He actually had a bit of a resemblance to Rebecca. ''Mphhh nhmhhhhh!'', Erk struggled against his bonds, signaling he wanted to be released. "Hey Captain, what about bound boy over there?", the one called Dart asked. "Eh, I dunno. Even if we freed him, and invited him onto our crew, he's way too scrawny to be a sailor", Fargus commented. ''Nghmmmm! Hhmph!'', Erk protested as he felt rather insulted at that. After Dart finished with his task, he cut the cage with his axes and started to untie Erk. "All right, there you are", he commented. ''Much obliged'', Erk made a short bow with his head. ''I must say this is somewhat unexpected'', he said. "Why's that?", Dart asked. ''When I heard I would be sold to pirates, I expected...different people'', Erk said. "Well, we aren't softies, but we aren't monsters either", Dart said. ''I'm thankful for that'', Erk said.

''Do you know where I can get a ride back to Caelin?'', he asked. "People here are scared of their own shadows", Dart said. "You might have to wait to see about that. Might as well go check inside the Inn over there", he advised. ''I....don't have any money on me'', Erk answered. "There's some kooky Shaman type running around here", Dart said. "See him, maybe he can do something for you", he told Erk. ''I'll do that, thank you sir'', Erk bowed and went to the inn. "Yeah, it's all good", Dart said as Erk went off to the inn.

At the inn, Erk saw a purple-haired man sitting at the bar. He seemed unconcerned by the singing, the ale and the other guests as he was lost deeply in his books. ''Now that's a welcome sight'', Erk said pleased as he saw the reading man. The Shaman, Canas, must have been an odd sight for a pirate port like Badon, yet he seemed unconcerned. ''Excuse me, but you are a shaman right?'', Erk asked. ''I need to ask you...Excuse me!'', as the shaman didn't appear to have noticed him at all. "Hmmm....Oh, hello?", Canas asked. ''Excuse me but I got taken...out of my way a bit'', Erk said. ''A pirate said I should seek your help to get back to Caelin'', he told him. "Ah yes, I have foreseen your arrival", Canas said. "Just last night, you were in the company of three great heroes, were you not?", he asked. ''I wouldn't exactly say heroes but the three are noble, respectable and able persons'', Erk answered. ''And I assume you saw that with elder magic?'', he asked.

"No, just with a divination", Canas admitted. "But, it seems it was right. Now, if that is true, then the other part might be right. So, you want to get back to Caelin? Well, don't worry, they will be soon coming this way", he told him. ''Ah yes, this is a port town'', Erk said. ''Lord Eliwood will surely need a ship'', though that they could come for him too only occurred to Erk a little later. ''What other part are you talking about?'', he asked. "Much has transpired since your meeting with the archers and your trip here", Canas started. "The Three have learned much thanks to the info of a well-placed spy about the true nature of Marquiss Darin and the shadowy hand strangling Lycia's neck right now. And so, they know the truth lies on Valor, the Dread Isle, and so they will come here for a ship to arrive", he said. "That was Elder Magic. And it's good for me too, as I actually have been needing to arrive there myself, so it works out for everybody", Canas explained.

Erk seemed a bit disappointed of having missed that information. ''The lords would be happy to add you to the army, as I can feel your magic is quite powerful'', Erk said. ''Valor, huh...'', he trailed off in thought, as his mentor had always talked about investigating the place. "That sounds fine", Canas said. "So, you might as well get some rest, young man and wait for them", he advised Erk. ''I don't have money to rent a room here'', Erk said. ''So I'll go sleep by the door, and I'll see you tomorrow'', as he stood up and prepared to leave. "Ah, if you don't object, you can stay in mine", Canas offered. ''That would be...I don't know if..'', Erk said hesitant but went along with it. ''All right, thank you'', he said to Canas. "It's quite all right", Canas said. "Besides, I have this book here, so I imagine it will keep me going until they come", he told him.

''Read from it'', Erk requested rather greedily. ''....Please'', as while Erk was not a dark mage himself, he intensely studied the theory. "Oh, sorry, this is an actual book kind of book", Canas said. "A tale of a man who fell in love with a dragon, but when separates from his wife and children fell into the path of madness", he explained. ''Oh'', Erk said disappointed. ''Carry on then, I'll be in your room...don't hesitate to tell me if you want to use it'', he added. "Of course, master mage", Canas said. A slightly guilty Erk went to bed waiting until the next morning when Eliwood would arrive.

As Canas foretold, Eliwood, Hector and Lyn would meet with an Ostian spy who infiltrated the Black Fang named Leila who told them everything she knew. After making sure Marquiss Hausten and Caelin were safe, the army moved to Badon, although both Rebecca and Wil felt guilty when Erk was reported missing, and a search proved unfruitful. Erk was in the inn, waiting for the group to arrive. In the meantime, he spent time by going through Canas' small library. It was another couple of hours before Eliwood''s troops came into Badon. They scoured the docks for a crew crazy enough to take them to Valor. As expected of a island referred to as the dreaded isle, no one wanted to take them to Valor. Erk had already expected this and thought the only one that would want to take them was that pirate that saved him. As the troops spread out, Wil and Rebecca saw a familiar figure running up them. "Is that....", Wil trailed off.

''Yeah, that's Erk'', Rebecca said. ''It's good to see you two again'', Erk said. ''My apologies for disappearing, I was...careless'', he said. Wil and Rebecca brought Erk to Eliwood and Co, where he explained what happened to him last night, how he was saved by a band of pirates, and about Canas. ''Yes, so I think those pirates might be eccentric enough to take you to Valor'', Erk told them. "It's worth a shot. Thank you Erk, nice to see you back and all right", Eliwood said as he and some others went to see Fargus while Erk went to go see Canas. ''Lord Eliwood said you are free to join us Canas'', Erk said. ''He did however ask you to realize its a dangerous journey and that you must be fully prepared for the worst'', he added. "Of course, of course, it's no picnic to reach Valor, and the Black Fang", Canas said. "But, I still will come none the less". Erk couldn't really object. Eccentric as Canas was, it was good to have another scholarly mage join, especially one that was a walking Library.

Meanwhile, as Erk left, Wil and Rebecca came up to him. "Rebecca here has something she wants to say to you", Wil said as he stood behind her. ''Wil, I think Erk getting kidnapped is a greater deal then me attacking him'', she said. "That's her way of saying sorry for assaulting, tying up and spanking you", Wil explained. "Still, when you didn't come back, we were both rather worried, especially poor Priscilla", he said. ''Apologies accepted'', Erk said. ''So Lady Priscilla was worried? That's....unfortunate'', he said, ashamed of himself. "Yeah, but hearing the whole story has made her a lot more better", Wil said. ''That's good to hear, but when I see her, I must apologize for this'', Erk said. ''Don't bother! That's not necessary'', Rebecca said. ''You being safe has already made it up'', she told him.

Suddenly, Marcus rode in with two quivers and handed them to Wil and Rebecca. "Here, take these", he said. However, the arrowheads were soft. "Er....Thanks, sir, but what's this all about?", Wil asked. ''This does not seem usefull Marcus'', Erk said. ''Taking a weapon that cannot kill to the battlefield is nothing short of foolish'', he added. "That's the idea. Captain Fargus of the Black Shark Corsairs has agreed to ferry us to Valor. However, his sole condition is a test of strength, and so we must best his pirates. To make sure none of us die, we are trying to to hold back or use blunt weapons. Erk, in your case, try not to be a walking thunderstorm, okay?", Marcus explained. ''This is going to be bothersome'', Erk sighed, as he really didn't see the point of this test. "All right, it won't be hard to miss them, and to win, someone has to reach Fargus at the port, and that's it", Marcus said. ''I've spend the night at the tavern here and according to everyone, aprauching Fargus with a weapon is suicide'', as Fargus was quite possibly stronger then any fighter in their army. "I said approach, not fight", Marcus said. "All right, that's it. Move out!", and with that he rode off. "Well, nothing to it but do it", Wil said. "Race you to Fargus!", Rebecca said as she tested out her arrow on a approaching Pirate. "Y'arr! I hate to be the first one dead!", he complained.

''Don't worry the rest will soon acompaney you to the not-so-afterlife'', Erk said and took out his thunder tome. Erk made sure he made the ligtning bolt landed just before the pirate's feet. "I already lost, you jerk!", the Pirate complained as the rubber arrow was stuck in his longcoat. "Okay, okay, let's move on", Wil said, bow and soft-headed arrows in tow. While the whole thing seemed ridicules to Erk, Rebecca on the other hand found it fun. ''Okay, you are dead!'', Rebecca laughed cheerfully as she shot some pirates. ''The afterlife is at the tavern so be nice gents and go their or I'll make you walk the plank! Yarrr!'', she said. ''Dead people can't hear you Rebecca'', Erk said annoyed. Wil only smilled as he cleared the town with Rebecca. She hadn't changed a bit. As they got close to port, and a local fighting arena, Wil saw a Pirate that looked...oddly familliar. "Hey, Becky, look at that guy", he said. ''That guy looks like Dan if he would have zero fashion sense'', Rebecca smilled. That the pirate could actually BE Dan didn't cross her mind. ''That's Dart'', Erk said. ''He seemed like a nice man before, if a bit impolite.''Wil didn't say anything, but he remembered when Dan and he went their seperate ways, it was at Badon, because he wanted to sail the seas....it couldn't possibly. "Hey! Wil! Snap out of it!", Rebecca told him as she dragged him away.

Erk stepped toward Dart. ''I know I owe you guys a debt for saving me but that won't stop me from sending you to an imaginary afterlife!'', as he readied his tome. ''Hey! I said snap out of it!'', Rebecca said. ''We gotta join the fight'', she chaztized him. "So, I see your punyness was because you are a fancy-pants magic user then", Dart said. "Well, these axes are dull, but my fighting spirit still is as sharp as my wits!", he said. It wasn't too much further for Wil and Rebecca as they made their way to Fargus. ''Who are you calling puny?!'', Erk said offended. ''I could easily argue you are a brute because all your braincells go to feeding the muscles needed to lift that axe!'', he said back to Dart. ''Yarr they are gonna make it to the boss!'', a pirate yelled in panic. ''....Not! Release the trap, you cowardly deckapes!'', he yelled to his troops. "And such mighty muscles they are!", Dart said. "Now come on, laddie, show me some fire!", as he charged forth. "Oh, there's a trap coming", Wil said to Rebecca. "Hey, thanks for warning us!", he taunted the one who yelled it as clear as day. "Should I trigger it, or should you?", Rebecca asked. Erk honestly didn't like being referred to as ''laddie'' and created a fireball large enough to get that point across.

''Grrr! Hey don't act like that!'', the pirate yelled. ''The whole crew pulled their minds togheter to come up with this!'', he added. ''What an impresive result that must have been'', Rebecca laughed. ''Enough! Take this!'', as against the streetwall, a large number of crates where stappled up. The pirates kicked the crates down breaking them. ''Yarharharhar! Try crossing now matties!'', as out of the crates came all kind of fish, rotten fish to be precise, which created a huge stank troughout the alley. "Woah!", Dart said as he rolled out of the way. "Practice battle, you dummy!", he shouted. "Oh, that's just wrong", Rebecca said. "Can I borrow your head scarf?", Wil asked her. ''I know which is why the flames aren't that hot'', Erk said. ''And if you are allowed to hit me with that blunt thing, wouldn't I be at a disadvantages if I can only miss?'', he epxlained.

''Gladly Wil!'' as Rebecca untied the scarf over her head and handed it to Will. ''Huh! H-hey wait, you can't do that yar'l ruin it!'', one pirate whined. "It's not the temperture, it's the magnitude of it!", Dart complained. Wil then tied the scarf around his nose, took a breath in and began to cross the rotting fish. ''Just hold your tounge and fight'', as another fireball flew in Dart's direction. ''Yar! He'll ruin it! Stop him you deckapes!'', but no pirate however dared to charge into the stench to subdue Will. "Ya'arg, what happened to that 'yes, please, thank you sir' one of you I saw earlier?", Dart said as the fight continued. "Well, that sucked", Wil said as he crossed it. "Now, to Fergus!", he commented. ''I already said I'd show no mercy because right now, you are my enemy, imagionary or not'', Erk said. ''Back then you were not'', he explained. ''Garharhar! He's out of the stench get him no-ugh damm!'', as Rebecca had shot some arrows from a distance on them. ''I believe they where the only ones standing in your way'', she said to Wil.

"Man, you are colder then the Northern Seas!", Dart said as the fight continued to be a draw. "Thanks, Becky!", Wil said as he ran up to Fargus. "Hi there!", he said to him. ''When you consider it's a pirate saying this, it does come off a bit laugheble don't you think?'', Erk said coldly after his newest spell missed. ''Aha! You made it, whelp!'', Fargus said. ''Shame the little lordlings haven't reached me themselves'', he added. "Hey, I may be a reaver and a slayer, but I still am nice, just not to certain people!", Dart said back. "Is that them over there?", Wil asked as Eliwood and Lyndis came up from the west. ''It's a good thing I'm not one of those people right!'', Erk said. The young mage was thinking of unleashing a more powerfull spell, but the thing that prevented him was that he had yet to succesfully cast it. ''Yarr! That's something you should know boy!'', Fargus laughed. ''They're YOUR lords right?'', he chastized Wil. "Well, since you are that much of a jerk, I guess so!", Dart replied back as he charged. "Captain Fargus, we are here. Did we pass your test?", Eliwood asked. ''How am I a jerk? This is a battle right?'', Erk asked. ''Argh this annoys me!'', as he took out a red golden book from under his robe. ''You did whelp, you reached me'', Fargus said. ''Fargus of the black sharks is a man of the sea, and a man of his word'', as he then blew on a very sharp whistle that echoed throughout Badon. "Oh, looks like someone made it to Captain Fargus", Dart said. "The test is over".

'Then I'll drop my arms'', Erk said dissapointed. He really wanted to test if he was capable of using the Elfire tome and this mock battle was the perfect oppertunity. "All right, laddie, let's go over to the ship then", Dart said. ''Dart, could you stop calling me laddie?'', Erk asked irritated. ''16 is considered adult in some part of Elibe''. Well, Lycia for that matter, but Eturia just wheren't one of them, though. "Well, I am 19, so there!", Dart said back. Although Erk didn't make the connection quite yet, he and Rebecca also were somewhat alike in personality at times. ''I don't see why that give you the right to talk down on my youth'' Erk said.

Will and Rebecca as well as many other where on the ship were the pirates cheerfully gave them their meals. ''Come laddie! Eat up!'', a pirate affectionately pulled his arm around Wil's shoulder. It was one of the pirates who made the trap. He had given Wil a different kind of food then the rest, fish brought from a certain alley, an idea made by Rebecca. "Thanks, but the slight smell and discoloring gives it away", Wil said in a friendly tone. ''Really? So? Eat up!'', the pirate laughed. ''Yeah Wil, eat up!'', Rebecca laughed, finding it funny, as she knew exactly what it was. Wil took a piece off with the fork, swirled it around....and stuck in Rebecca's mouth. "As you wish", he said slyfully. ''Nghhm! Aaaaaaaaah!'', Rebecca screamed in disgust. ''Okay, that's it! Hold him!'', as the pirates grabbed Wil and pushed his face to his plate with food. They were pirates but at least they were chivalrous ones, plus they hated that their plan was found out. "I regret nothing!", were Wil's last words before the horrid stench and taste of the food knocked him out.

"What an odd, odd bunch", Canas said to himself. "Oh well, at least they are energetic!", he noted with a smile. ''A bit too much I'd say'', Erk sat down next to him. ''But the fish seemed to have knocked Wil out'', he noted. "Yes, it is a rather pungent odor", Canas said as Rebecca dragged Wil off. ''Pardon?'', as even the formal Erk didn't know the word pungent. ''What are you reading?'', he asked. "A term for a strong smell, Master Erk", Canas said. ''Ah,...odd'', Erk said. ''So? what are you reading again?'', he asked. "Oh, this is just a light novel about the Eight Heroes, but I remember you wanted to know a little about elder magic, so I found this Flux tome for you", Canas said as he handed it over. ''Many thanks Canas!'', Erk said. ''I won't be able to cast it but it will keep me busy for at least a few nights'', he added happily. "It is no problem at all", Canas said.

Rebecca dragged Wil to the brig, but as Rebecca did so, Dart followed the two knuckleheads. ''It would be funner if you were awake'', Rebecca said. ''Oh well'', as she opened the brig, dragged Wil inside and started tying Wil's arms and legs to the bars. Dart snuck up behind Rebecca as she did so, waiting for her to finish. ''Awww, I don't have a gag'', Rebecca pouted. ''Ah well, I'm sure one of these gents is willing to help this cute girl out'', she said to herself. As Rebecca turned around, she bounced off Dart. "Hmm, seems like you having a little fun, yeah?", he asked. ''Uh....yeah,'' Rebecca blushed ''Uh, c-can you..This isn't your business!'', she said embarrassed. "Seems a bit odd you tying up this dork", Dart said. "Imagine the shame on Red's face if he caught you two in this position", he told her. ''But he's a dork, maybe that's why I tied him up'', Rebecca said. ''And who's red?'', she asked. "That Eliwood guy", Dart said. "Hmm, can't imagine that would go over too well", he implied. ''Well, maybe I should tie him up to-no wait he's my lord'', Rebecca said. ''Who's not gonna hear of this, you hear me!'', she tried to threaten. "I'm the one in charge of the brig, little lady", Dart said. "Get the hint?", he asked.

''No, no I don't, big guy'', Rebecca replied. "It means he won't be alone", Dart said as he gathered some rope. ''What!'', Rebecca yelled. ''Look Dan..uh Dart! I know I'm cute but that doesn't give you a right to-eeeek! L-let go of me!'', she yelled. "Dan?", Dart asked as he brought her into the cell, and began tying her wrists. ''Just forget it'', Rebecca said. ''And ouch! This is too tight!'', she whined. "Well, these are naval ropes, they have to be thick", Dart explained. Still, this seemed...oddly familiar somehow. ''Stop it Dan...ahhhh why do I keep saying that!'', Rebecca yelled. ''I mean stop it, you brute!'', she told her amnesiatic brother. "What's the magic word?", Dart asked as he tied Rebecca's ankles together. ''Or this sweet helpless girl will call the authorities?'' Rebecca asked with an attitude. "And how will you explain why you tied up your friend here?", Dart asked. "I mean, besides blaming me, of course". Why did this girl seem so...familiar? ''Wil is Wil'', Rebecca said. ''And he shoved fish in my mouth'', she answered, forgoing that she was playing a trick on him."Wil....That name....I remember hearing in old flashbacks...", Dart said.

While he lost most of his memory in a fight due to blood loss, occasionally, he would get flashbacks of himself when he was younger, a little, scrawny, auburn-haired boy and a small, green-haired girl. ''Hmmm, are you all right Dan, er...Dart?'', Rebecca asked. "Yeah, thanks little lady", Dart said as he recovered. Rebecca felt somewhat safe with the man because of him looking and acting like her brother and so stopped complaining...after a while. Wil also woke up. "All right, I'll leave you here for about an hour as punishment, then I'll come back if you haven't freed yourself by that time", Dart said.

Wil yawned and noticed he was tied up. "You know, there's easier ways to ask, Rebecca", he said. ''You were being a big sleepyhead, so I couldn't'', Rebecca said. "Oh. So, let's bygones be bygones, and let's try to free eachother", Wil suggested. He didn't bother asking why Rebecca was tied up. ''Your hands are tied to the bars so I have to do all the work huh?'', Rebecca asked. "Well, you see my left boot? There's a knife in there. Can you wriggle it out?", Wil asked. ''Almost...almoooost...no not really'', Rebecca tried her hardest but just couldn''t get the knife out of Will's boots. Wil sighed, then held the heel of his foot that had the boot holding his knife down with his other heel, then began applying pressure as he tried lifting it up to remove it from the bindings. "Now try", he suggested as the bonds became a little looser and the knife slid out of his boot. Since Rebecca was bound, she had to use her feet to pull the knife toward her. Once it was close enough she shoved it toward her hands.

"Good job, Becky!", Wil encouraged her on. Rebecca managed to cut her ropes loose. 'H'mmmm, should I free you?'', she smiled. "Well, seeing on how a big, mean pirate is coming soon, please?", Wil asked. ''Fine, fine I'll do it'', Rebecca moved the daggers across the ropes that tied Wil to the bars. "Thanks, Becky", Wil said. "Now, come on, let's get out of here and in public so he can't make a move on us", he told her. ''Or we could tell his captain what he did to this cute girl!'', Rebecca said. ''He'll be on deck swabbing duty for a long time!'', she grinned. "Yeah, but then he could tell on you what you did to me", Wil said. "And I'd rather keep this a secret", he added. ''Fine we won't tell'', Rebecca sighed .''Just know you are wasting a chance to see that guy as a swabbie'', she said. "Come on, let's get out of here", Wil said.

At the other end of the ocean on Valor, a mercenary unit of pegasus knights who where investigating the island had been ambushed and defeated. Only one of the knights, their commander Fiora, survived, was bound and gagged as a prisoner. The tied up Fiora was carried over a warrior's shoulder. Because of the pitiful resistance her squad offered, Nergal had decided she was unworthy of his attention and had given the black fang an order to ship to prisoner to Bern. There she would either be removed or kept for ''comfort'' depending on Sonia Reed's mood. Fiora felt completely ashamed of her failure, she didn't care what happened to her now as she was lashed to the mast on a ship. ''Don't worry darling, we'll talk to Lady Sonia on your behalf'', a black fang soldier said. ''It would be a shame to let such a beauty go to waste'', he lecherously said. Fiora could just stare into the sky in a melancholy mood. She hoped her sisters were all right. ''So, you are ignoring me aren't you'', the fang soldier said annoyed. ''Let's see how long you hold that up if we stop feeding you!'', he threatened. Fiora merely sighed at this. She didn't really feel like saying much as the defeat of her comrades still weighed heavy on her heart.

At the upper deck, most of the army and crew were tense as the ship entered a thick mist. The whole situation was eerie, but for a few hours, peaceful. Unlike most people who save for the lookouts, who where in the crew quarters, Erk was at the upper deck, as he liked the calming mist but also know it was a good place to hide in so he kept his eyes open for any surprises. As the ship traversed, Wil checked around the ship, too. ''Keep your eyes open Will'', Erk said. ''Enemy ambushes could be hiding anywhere now", he told him. "Of course, Erk", Wil said, bow in hand, also much more serious in demeanour. ''Wil....do you see that?'', Erk asked. He could see lights shining through the mist. "I do. We should probably sound the alarm", Wil said. ''Don't rush it'', Erk said. ''If we act hastily, that ship may detect us, if we do not there is a chance we can avoid a fight altogether'', he noted. As the Black Fang ship passed through the mist, Fiora, still bound and gagged, noticed another one near. ''They don't seem to notice us'', Erk said relieved. The black fang indeed didn't seem to notice them, except one man on the ship wasn't part of the black fang though but a servant of Nergal, a man with pale skin, black hair and golden eyes. ''Take your weapons, as I...feel something'', the morph said. The black fangs began to prepare their assault on the pirate ship.

''You can return to what you where doing men'', Erk said to the pirates Wil had gathered. ''It seems the danger is past'', but as Erk said that, a large rock only barely missed him. The emeny ship was shooting at them with a catapult. "Or not!", Wil shouted as he sounded the alarm. ''Who in the blazes has the nerve to attack the black shark pirates!'', Fargus barked. ''Boys! Show them who rules the sea!'', he barked. ''Men! Protect the ship and it's crew at all cost!'', Eliwood commanded his own troops. And so, a vicious sea battle began to take place.

''Vile curs, feel the power of my magic!'', Erk unleashed lightning against any black fang soldier in his way which considering everyone was at least a bit wet thanks to the mist, worked really well. Wil spied a pegasus rider (due to the similar uniform she wore as Florina did) tied to a pole on the enemy ship. But, he would wait until the gangplanks were put down before he would try and rescue her. The black fang steered their ship closer and started employing their gangplanks to gain entrance to the pirate ship. A second ship appeared and did the same, trapping Eliwood's force between two armies. "Hey, Raven! Can you cover my back as I go rescue that girl?", Wil asked. "Yes'', Raven said. ''If an enemy comes near you, I'll take care of it'', he told Wil. Erk defended the ship from the other fang force. ''Dart if this keeps up we'll be squashed between them! Can you provide some aid?", he asked. Taking a breath in, Wil dashed forward onto the ship, firing at Fiora's guards. "Sure, laddie", Dart said. And then the pirate jumped off the ship, and using water combat techniques taught him by Fargus, he managed to get to the other ship, and started attacking the force behind them.

Raven blocked the gangplanks so no fang soldier could attack Wil up close. ''Those two...are bothersome'', as the morph commander took out a black book from under his robe. ''You are skilled Dart I'll give you that'', Erk said as he shot fire on multiple places of the ship, creating a fire in the process. Wil rolled forth, knife in hand, and started to cut Fiora' bindings. "Hi there!", he said. "Ah, I feel the presence of Elder Magic", Canas said. "I believe there is an Light Magic user among us. I should go fetch him".

''Mmphh!'', the still-gagged Fiora made a muffled sound. She knew there was a battle going on but thought surely no one would spot her in this mist. With the fire spreading over the second ship, Erk focused on the first. ''What's...What is she doing here?'', he thought out loud when he saw the mercenary. Since Pent often hired her, Erk had met her a few times. Sadly, this kind of combat was not ideal for Lucius. His light magic gave him right away even in this thick mist and being at sea didn't help his health at all. The monk fought bravely though and showed no signs of retreating just yet. Wil finished cutting Fiora free and ungagged her and handed her a lance. "Care for a little payback?", he asked her. "Hello, young monk", Canas said to Lucius. "You see that figure in the black robe? I highly believe he is a Elder Magic user. If I cast a shroud of darkness over you to disguise you to get close to him, care to defeat him?", he asked. ''As a sworn knight of Illia, I should be above such a thing'', Fiora said, as these weren't' even the black fangs that had captured her. ''But you since you have saved me, I will repay you'', she said. ''I'm afraid I'm only just a novice in magic'', Lucius said humbly. ''But I will do my best'', he answered.

''Your Quintessence is impure'', as a circle of purple flames surrounded Wil. ''Lord Nergal has no use for you. Fenrir'', the creature said. Wil knew enough about magic to know that a bunch of purple fire coming out of nowhere wasn't a good thing, so he grabbed Fiora and got out of the way. As the darkness surrounded Lucius, he came close to the Morph and began preparing a spell of his own. ''Resistance is useless, human'', the morph said calmly and took out another book. ''Eclipse'', it said as a dark sphere of energy surrounded Wil. Before the spell could detonate however, Lucius intervened. ''You are unnatural, and I can not let you leave this place. Shine!'', as an explosion of light was unleashed on the morph. Wil then shot an arrow at the horrid creature right in the neck, and it gurgled an awful sound and fell off the boat.

The loss of their very creepy leader both demoralized and strangely relieved the remaining Black Fang soldiers. Lady Fiora!'', Erk ran toward the two. ''What on Elibe are you doing here?'', he asked. "Erk? The young student of Pent, correct?", Fiora asked. "She was tied to the mast by those thugs", Wil said. ''Yes, I'm aware of that Wil, but I was meaning to ask how that happened'', Erk said annoyed at Wil stating the obvious. ''And indeed I am Erk, as I'm glad you recognized me'', he said. Fiora then explained the story of her troops seeing strange activity in Valor, the battle that destroyed them, and her capture.''So, Lord Pent is on to the situation, then there is nothing to worry about'', as Erk said this, he was partly right on this. His teacher wouldn't be able to take on Nergal but that was about the only thing he could not do. ''My apologies, this was insensitive! I'm sorry for your squad!'', he quickly added. "It is all right", Fiora said. "It's no use to mope, but rather, better to avenge them. I will join your army", she said. ''Yes, that's a fine idea'', Erk said. ''To pay you for the good work you'll surely deliver, I'll talk to Lord Pent in order to ensure no small amount of payment for you and the fallen'', he assured her. "Thank you very much, Erk", Fiora said.

The remaining black fang where slowly but surely pushed back into the sea. ''It seems that was the last of it'', Erk said. "Indeed", Wil replied. As always after a battle, Erk went to check on Priscilla. ''Lady Priscilla? Are you all right? The battle hasn't worn you out to much right?'', he asked. "No, I am fine, but thank you for always checking up on me", Priscilla said with a smile. ''You really shouldn't tha-...thanks, Lady Priscilla'', Erk said. "No, you've always taken such good care of me, going above and beyond your duties, so I must really thank you", Priscilla said. ''Well, i..it...wasn't a big deal'', Erk was actually blushing. Priscilla gently led Erk by the hand to her cabin on the ship. "This is large enough for two people, would you care to stay with me? I'm not very familiar with ships, I am afraid, so maybe having a cabin-mate will be better", she said.

''Yes, of course I'll stay here with you'', Erk said. ''But I was under the impression you preferred to sleep alone, I'm quite relieved I was wrong'', Erk accidentally admitted. "Well, generally, yes, but I think tonight I can do this, as it is with you, after all", Priscilla said. ''I'm glad you think so'', Erk said. Lately, he found that he was feeling closer to Priscilla then his humble job as escort would permit. "But, I actually wanted to ask you a question, Erk", Priscilla started. "You know, the co-leaders of our archers? Those quirky two called Wil and Rebecca?", she asked. ''Yes, I do and truthfully the more I get to know them, the more faith I lose in the archers they lead'', Erk joked. "Oh, that's mean, Erk", Priscilla said. "But, yes, it does seem you know them. Now, please take note, this is only rumor, but there's these little things that pop up once or twice, that those two like....tying eachother up, and I mean, you like to hang around with them, and....", she trailed off. ''Yes they do seem to do that to each other'', Erk confirmed. ''Is that what you wanted to know?'', he asked. "Sort of. My real question is if you ever....well, you know...", Priscilla trailed off again. ''I truly wish I didn't, but I know what you mean'', Erk said uncomfortably. ''It's true that those two have dragged me into that at least once, against my will I must add!'', Erk said.

"So", Priscilla started as her face began to become as red as her hair. "Um...would you like to...well, do that, together?", she shyly asked. ''Huh? P-Priscilla? Are you feeling all right?'', Erk asked flustered ''Well, if that's what you command'', he said. "I haven't had much experience with it, so I think it's best if you lead", Priscilla offered. She then pointed to a closet filled with the materials needed. Erk took the materials out of the closet, wondering what he was getting himself into. "Oh, and I think this should be a private manner. Agreed?", Priscilla said as she sat on the bed, with her hands behind her back. ''Of course, that speaks for itself'', Erk said as he bound Priscilla's hands. Her dad would probably kill Erk if he found out about this. Thankfully, Erk was skilled enough not to hurt Priscilla's hands, but enough to stay firm. Erk gently continued to bind Priscilla's legs and ankles together ''Is it too tight?'', he asked concerned. "No, it doesn't hurt, thank you", Priscilla told him. ''All right, now please tell me how much further I can go'', Erk asked. ''Or rather how far I can't go'', he said. "Well, nothing too intimate, of course", Priscilla said. "But, you know, maybe a gag, some tickling, things of that nature, that's fine. Just, I'd rather you keep my feet alone, as I'm very ticklish there, and may giggle too loudly", she said.

''As you wish'', as at this point Erk started remembering Serra and bitterly concluded the wrong client was asking for a gag! Erk tied a dark purple cloth over Priscilla's mouth. "Mmmpgh nnmpg", Priscilla sort-of said, testing out the gag, and to tell Erk it didn't hurt and she was fine. ''Now you wanted to be tickled right? And no feet?'', Erk summed up. ''Yeah, I can do that'', as Erk rubbed his fingers along Priscilla's sides. "Nnmmmpgh, JJMPGH", she giggled involuntarily. Erk fastened his pace but remained careful to not provide Priscilla any discomfort. Priscilla continued to laugh and wriggle around, as she was kind of enjoying this. ''Please don't mind me'', Erk said as he went to sit down on the bed too, taking place behind Priscilla to take the tickling easier for him. "Mmmgpgh nnnnnngphk MMMMMMKGH!", Priscilla moaned as she accidentally got closer to Erk. ''W-wow! Careful, my lady'', Erk said and slowed down a bit. "Sommpgh!", she tried to apologize. Only one other had ever done this to her, and this was many years ago, and Raymond was not as good as Erk was, so it was making her a bit more sensitive to the tickling. ''I wonder...your feet are truly off limits right?'', Erk asked. Priscilla nodded her head yes. Erk wanted to go for the feet but since Priscilla made it clear she didn't want it he didn't and just went on tickling her sides. The tickling went on for some time, and Priscilla's jaw began to ache from laughing so hard and so much.

''Are you all right Priscilla? I can stop if you want?'', Erk asked worriedly. Another thing Priscilla liked more about Erk as a captor, was he was a lot more gentle. She just shrugged as if to say do "what you will". ''Wait, let me get this'', as Erk ungagged her. "Ahh....Thank you, Erk", Priscilla said as she breathed in from her mouth again. ''So? What will it be, Lady Priscilla?'', Erk asked. "Well, I think you are a bit worried, so if you wish to unbind me now, that is fine", Priscilla said. Erk did so and once Priscilla was free, he immediately checked if the rope hadn't left any marks. "Again, thank you Erk, as I am sure if I asked others, they would have looked at me like I was crazy or something", Priscilla said. ''If they did that, I would have blasted them from the ship'', Erk assured her. "Well, I wouldn't go that far", Priscilla said as she herself still did feel a bit odd about this. "Umm....by the way, I uh, I don't want to pry, but", she shyly stammered. ''But?'', Erk asked. ''Ah, you want to if something like this happened before?'', he asked. "Well, very, very long ago, with me and my brother Raymond, but I prefer you as a captor", Priscilla said. "No, I wanted to ask...if I could try my hand at this, if you don't mind", she said.

''I'm at your service, Lady Priscilla, you know this'', Erk said. In others words she could do whatever she wanted. "Still, it would be unfair to not listen how you would like to be treated, so please, tell me what you would like to happen to you", Priscilla said. ''I'm fine with anything as long as it doesn't get..you know'', Erk said. "Of course", Priscilla answered. "Er, would you like to be tied to the bed?", she asked. ''Yes, if that's what you wish'', Erk said as he started to lay down. Priscilla took four coils of rope and tied each of Erk's limbs to the corners of the bed, making sure not to hurt him, but also not to be too loose. "And maybe a gag?", she asked. ''If that's what you desire'', Erk said. Priscilla took a red scarf and tied it firmly over Erk's mouth. "Would you liked to be tickled now. Nod your head yes or no, please", she asked.

''Nghhhm'', Erk made a small nod. Priscilla then began to tickle Erk's armpits. "Oh, and please nod your head one, then shake twice to say when you want to be released", she told him. ''Hhhhhmp! Nghm!'', Erk said he understood it. Priscilla's left hand stays on Erk's left armpit while her right starts tickling the ride side of his ribs. ''Mphhhhhh!'', as Erk couldn't help himself but try to force himself from the bed which didn't work thanks to the ropes. "Sorry, I'll try a different way", Priscilla said as she began to tickle his stomach. ''Mmphhhh....'', as this made Erk relax only ever so slightly, it was an improvement though. As Priscilla continued to work over Erk's stomach, she would, if only for a moment, move her hands up and tickle his chest, before going back down. ''Mmphhh! nghhhph!'', as much to Erk's embarrassmentm his muffled voice began to sound very high pitched. Although she knew it was mean, Priscilla couldn't help herself as she began to move to the chest, armpits, and back and worked on Erk there.

''MMPHHHHHH NHHHMMMMMMM!''m Erk started nodding frantically for the signal. Priscilla stopped tickling Erk and pulled down his gag. "I'm sorry, was that too much?", she asked. ''Uh, y-yeah a bit, sorry'', Erk said. "No, it's quite all right", Priscilla said as she began to untie Erk. ''You handled this all a lot better then I expected, Lady Priscilla''. Erk said/ ''No offense'', he added. "I too am surprised on how well I did", Priscilla admitted. She then gave Erk a small kiss on the forehead. "Thank you Erk, but I think we should go to rest now", she said. Erk couldn't respond as his face was as red as Priscilla's hair and he was go gobstrucked, he could only stammer. Priscilla gently giggled and helped him to bed.

With the aid of the Black Shark Corsairs, Eliwood and company managed to reach the shores of the dreaded isle of Valor, where the mad Marquess, Darin, and the sinister Nergal awaited them. While we must cut the details of the adventure short, eventually Eliwood of Pherae's forces would eventually defeat Nergal and his scheme, and while most of Elibe would never know of this war, most of the army would go back to their regular lives. When Hector of Ostia and Lyndis of Caelin married, the Principality of Caelin would eventually be unified with others, most notably Pherae. Wil would leave Lyn's service to go back to Pherae and joined up with the Royal Knights, most notably serving with Rebecca. After a few years, the two would marry, and their son Wolt, would be a pivotal figure twenty years later, assisting Eliwood's son Roy much like his parents did before, although ironically, he was much more mature then either of his parents.

Thanks to his connections as the main pupil of Duke Pent of Reglay, the Mage General of Etruria, Erk was able to marry Priscilla several years later. Unfortunately, while their daughter Beatrice would not serve with Roy's forces in the war, as she was a mage knight in the direct service of Etruria, but her story was a notable one in her own right in the direct fight with Bern's main army during the war. Of course, others would find happiness. As like Sain and Kent following Wil to Pherae, where Kent would marry the pegasus rider Fiora while Sain found a beautiful local maiden, Dart eventually reconciling with his family, but preferring a life at sea, or Raven and Lucius traveling the continent righting wrongs as they went, and others had such other tales.

The end.

And the last two:

Dart: http://images.wikia.com/fireemblem/images/2/21/Dart.jpg

Fiora: http://images.wikia.com/fireemblem/images/7/75/Fiora.jpg

And that's all folks. Yes, we both know these are more stories that happen to have tie-up games in them then just tie-up games, but hey, we still like them and we both hope you all do to.

A very well told story yet again. But will it be able to best a future one soon to be posted here that I helped cowrite? Best just to judge for yourselves. "Vanishes to continue writing a story offsite."
