How did your parents react to your TUG's?

This thought occurred to me after having recently viewed some YouTube videos. A number of these videos I've seen have involved two siblings (brothers, sisters, what have you) engaging in a friendly TUG, only to be interrupted by an overly concerned parent. The parent usually proceeds to scold the kids or put a stop to the game altogether.

I can say that mine seemed on the fence about it until one particular time. My older brother tied me up in our bedroom, turned out the lights, and shut the door. I was about 8 at the time, so when he didn't come back I got worried and started yelling for him. My dad hears the commotion and enters to see me tied up on the floor. He cuts me loose, looks at the both of us, and flatly says "no more tying each other up".

It's definitely not the worst reaction, but after that day we ceased all of our TUG activity. Perhaps if they had humored us, while also stressing safety and perhaps setting some ground rules, then we could have continued on.

So, how did your parents react? Did they write it off as "boys being boys", or did they think it was just a phase? Did anybody's parents actively encourage them or take part? I'm curious because so far all the parents I've seen have actively tried to stamp out that sort of behavior.

They okay with the three of us- my younger sister, me, and my older brother tying each other up. But meeting complete strangers online for tugs in person, I had to hide it from them. All 8 of them I had during my college life.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

My own experience with my mom and dad finding out was rather similar to yours. When they found out - because of my brother's carelessness in leaving me tied up somewhere where a boy scout my brother's age found me - were they ever mad at my brother! They forbade any more tie-ups. He still did them however, though he had to bribe me with candy bars and comic books (two of my favorite things as a kid) and be much more careful about how he treated me while i was tied so that i wouldn't rat him out.
Years later some neighbor kids (three brothers) who got involved in tie-up games involving my cousins had parents who did know about our games and seemed cool with them as long as we didn't play too rough and abided by certain safety rules. I have recently come to wonder though if they kept that secret or whether they told my cousins' mother and my own (their father and mine both being deceased by then). If so I never found out about it, even though it all came out into the open eventually when my cousins made a mistake similar to the one my brother had (though this time they were with me), only this time it was a cop who spotted us. That was a really bad time with their mother and mine... in particular because the cop thought sodomy was also involved... but in the end all the fuss blew over.

Our parents knew and they were ok when I was little and it was cops and robbers. Actually my big cousin who always wanted to be a cop, decided he wanted some real police handcuffs, and his dad bought them for him !!

Actually, my parents were pretty cool about it. I wrote a story about one incident in particular: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=22108

Well dang, were everyone's parents okay with it except mine?!

I understand the concern of me getting hurt o that my brother was bullying me. Maybe if I had stepped up and said I volunteered or whatever then they would have been cool with it.

Mine thought there was something wrong with me, they talked about making me see a shrink but that never happened 'cause I pretended I "got over it".

I told my mum again this past Christmas Eve and she was much more understanding :)
