Brandon's Quest

Postby Writer » Wed Nov 24, 2010 10:57 pm

Brandon was not the most stealthiest of adventurers. He was 5'10, had short black hair, and was fairly sized, but was loud when it came to sneaking. That's why he found himself wrapped up in ropes, hanging upside down in a secret factory hidden deep in the urban jungle of San Francisco. He was restrained from head to toe with foot upon foot of white rope. His mouth was covered shut by a thick slab of gorrila tape (unfortunately, the adhesive force of just a single strip was enough to silence Brandon's little mouth).

His eyes seemed, however, apathetic at his situation. The whole building was empty, save for himself and a stray rat. No, Brandon was stuck all right, and yet he didn't worry about anything. He was probably stuck for about a day and a half until a janitor found him hanging there and cut him down.

Brandon thanked the man and was on his way out of the building. He knew that he wouldn't have to exert any pressure if he just waited. He stepped outside into the chilly San Francisco air. He had on a plaid blue and black long-sleeved shirt, dark black skinnies, blue high top converse with black crew socks underneath, and a black scarf.

His mission was not yet over.

Brandon tried wriggling his fingers, but they were tightly encoiled in strings. He was lying on the floor, hogtied - well, in the process of being hogtied - by an elite group of agents from the Orzo Company, who deemed it necessary to incapacitate him while they raided his apartment.

They found him there, just in a white undershirt, black boxers, and black socks... vulnerable. They gagged him with a discarded sock on the floor, and multiple layers of duct tape.

"Now boy, we're not going to ask you where the stolen microchip is... ok men, bag him up!" Brandon kept his apathetic face as usual, even as the men in black trussed him up in a burlap sack. He was being carried to who knows where... he didn't even bother to yell. The men did the hogtie well, and the ropes were not only restrictive, but comfortable.

He felt himself being placed in what appeared to be a car, as it started and drove off. The car rolled on for hours, but Brandon didn't mind. It gave him an opportunity to think: he knew that he was always going to go through this because of his lack of finess. Sure, when it came to fighting and running, he was agile and strong, but catch him off-guard and he's as slow as a panda.

The car stopped, and the door opened. He was let out of the bag as he rolled onto a cold concrete floor that made the hairs on his body stand up.

There he was, the boss of Orzo... the man who had murdered his parents... Brandon was so close to getting revenge, and yet he couldn't move a muscle.

"Little boy," the Orzo man said, "did you really think that I could be lured out by stealing that microchip?" At this, Brandon started struggling, he WANTED to escape. He had no idea that he would be trussed up like this when he met the man...

"Boys, knock him out and take the chip. And...." he knelt down and raised Brandon's chin to face him, "make sure to keep special watch on this little guy from now on..."

Brandon yelled for the first time, but soon, all he knew was darkness...

When he woke up, he was back home, back where he started... but now, things would be a little harder.

It had been a week since Brandon's last "outing" and already he was starting to feel comfortable... what, with the armed forces keeping an eye on his every movement 24/7. Brandon was being watched... and this time it wasn't just by his crazy pedo stalkers or all of his crazy exes... but by the Orzo company's private guard.

As long as I don't do anything suspicious, Brandon thought, I should be fine. But unfortunately, not doing anything suspicious made him an easy target for another group of silent watchers.

Monday, after he turnedd a corner in his apartment complex, Brandon heard a slight rustling sound behind him. He turned around suddenly and saw nothing there. But before he could recall any more, multiple pairs of hands were on him, blinding his vision and gagging him with what appeared to be a spongy ball and layered with duct tape. His arms were tied to his side and his wrists were crossed behind his back. As his feet were tied, he was hoisted over someone's shoulder and taken away.

Brandon didn't scream, fight, or seem surprised. Actually, he was wondering why it took so long for this to happen. Brandon was thrown into a car as it sped off into an unknown direction. After what seemed like hours, Brandon fell asleep.

By the time he woke up, Brandon was retied in a chair, in a fashion where his legs were tied on separate pegs and his hands tied to the armrests. His chest was firmly roped to the back, and the gag had not changed. A lone light shone on him; the rest of the room was in darkness.

Then, a shadowy figure approaced: a man, dressed in blue, about in his early 30's. He smelled of incense and wine. Brandon moaned into the gag, apparently annoyed for the first time during this incident.

"What? Can't a Godfather have a little fun with his Godson?" the man ungagged Brandon, whos pit out the orange spongey ball from his mouth.

"Ugh, Uncle Dilan... why do you have to kidnap me every time you gotta talk to me?" Brandon seemed indifferent and calm, somewhat sarcastic. "You know," he said, "they've invented this fascinating device called an iPhone and mhhppp!!" Dilan replaced the ball inside his godson's mouth.

"Now that's better; don't interrupt me when I'm speaking. Alright, so you know your situation: ORzo's on your trail and apparently you're on their black list. You know what that means..."

Brandon spit out the ball. "Ptoh... Yeah, that they're thinking of killing me soon..." Brandon fought the ropes again. "Uncle Dilan, can't you untie me now?"

"I'm afraid not, my boy..." Dilan took out a small handkercheif and stuffed it quickly in Brandon's mouth. Brandon muffled confusedly. Dilan wrapped layers of tape upon each other.

"I'm sorry, Brandon, but under my superiors' command, we've been ordered to transport you out of the country... you're to be sent to America at out sister agency." Brandon was sccreaming now; he didn't want to leave Japan, there was too much unfinished business here. But he was being given no choice, the higher-ups deemed it so. All he could do was watch his uncle Dilan tape his eyes shut, as he was boxed up and shipped off overseas....

The presentation of this story is really unusual, but unusual in a really cool way. Well done.
There's a permanent tension in music isn't there? On one hand you have three chords, you know, four four and three chords. Then there's the people like me, who say "Well, why don't we add a fourth chord and put it in five four?" - Bill Bruford

It had been about 7 hours since Brandon last saw light... he had been tied to the same chair that his uncle interrogated him in. As far as he could tell, he was on a plane, and he was pretty sure that they were up in the air. Brandon screamed for help, but most likely, no one was in the cargo room.

It didn't matter, since his bindings were really effective, but Brandon tried to push the chair off kilter and escape. He couldn't break out though, even after making the box fall to the side. Unfortunately, Brandon's air quest ended about two hours later, when the plane landed in California...

He was on his way to the house of a former agent under Uncle Dilan. He had a son named Peter who was just a few years younger than him. Of course, Brandon didn't know this at that moment, he thought he was being trafficked off to a random agency...

The plane landed and Brandon was retied for transport. He was tied in a fashion that his arms were pinned to his sides. His gag was reapplied with a new "fresh" sock and duct tape. The blindfold never moved.

A few moments later, he was placed into a car, moving at record breaking speed. He thought that the car would crash but all that happened was an abrupt STOP. Quickly, he was shuffled out of the car and carried into a house. He was placed on what appeared to be a sofa as he overheard men talking.

"Here!? Of all places, that Dilan..."
"It's the only safe location he could think of-"
"But endangering my son! If the Orzo company were to track him..."
"Impossible, his restraints are made out of aluminite- it blocks out any kind of transmissions around a five mile radius."
"I see... why then why restrain him?"
"He would not comply if we didn't take precautionary measures..."

Brandon mmphed loudly into his gag. He MIGHT have gladly agreed to whatever was going on, IF he knew what was going on. He struggled and accidentaly rolled down onto the floor. He landed with a thud.

"Can't you untie him now? I'm pretty sure he's scared out of his wits."
"Wait, not now. We've been careful to keep the restraints on to avoid detection. Keep his restraints on for 24 hours, until we've left the country."
"What about the gag? He needs to eat."
"Fine."

Fine? Brandon thought. He needs to eat, of course. What sort of agency did his uncle run?

He heard the men talk a bit longer and soon the one who brought him here left. After a while, his blindfold was removed and his vision returned. He saw a middle-aged asian man, slender build and long black hair. "Are you ok?"

"mhmm." Brandon answered. He motioned to be ungagged.

"I know I can't untie you yet, but I'll feed you. I only have this to say: if you stay with us, my son cannot be endangered. You are to protect him in case of any emergency. Understand?"

Brandon nodded and his gag was removed. "thanks. Now would you mind telling me what the hell's going on??"

The aluminum restraints are a creative idea... I wonder if they exist. Nice and light, yet strong.

Do you know that orzo is tiny rice-shaped pasta?
