Dirty sock gags - safety?

Postby lmaofail » Wed Jul 10, 2013 6:28 pm

Hi, I know there have been several threads similar to this one already, so I'm sorry for bringing this up again, but i felt that I needed to clarify this since I'm quite confused...

I enjoy using dirty sock gags in bondage (no bits or gravel, just thoroughly worn and sweaty socks - maybe an active day at the gym or one whole day of heavy walking at an amusement park, etc. - enough to see sweat stains nonetheless..), but recently several people have told me that the bacteria can be quite dangerous (at least enough to cause an infection...), but I want to confirm this information

How severe is the bacteria on dirty socks and how dirty should a sock be before its TOO dirty?

Also, assuming I keep using dirty socks as gags in self-bondage and other TUGs, what are the chances of catching an infection?

Advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

I can't begin to understand why you'd use dirty socks instead of clean ones, but considering they're against someone foot for a while and tend to pick up all kinds of things I can't imagine it's very sanitary, but I have no real idea.

You'd have to ask someone who uses that. I personally would never use the dirty sock thing.

I use it because of a fetish reason :P (like some others, i'm sure) - a clean one just doesn't have the feel to it

Also Kyle, I tend to flip the sock inside out so only the part touching your foot touches your tongue and inside of the mouth, so the OUTSIDE part is not really an issue, just curious about the bacteria on the inside (although i'm not even sure which side is safer, i don't really care about which side but i just assumed the inside was slightly cleaner idk)

People have given me a myriad of different opinions on this:

1. It is completely ok
2. Moderately dirty socks are ok
3. It is completely and fully not worth the risk

as a result I'm asking here, and as Wyatt said above, if anyone who USES a dirty sock gag could give me some advice here that'd be great

Well I ind the the dirty sock is better than a clean one just for the humiliation of it im guessing that's what your going for safety wise from what you wrote it should be fine with a bit of mouth wash but there should always be some one present whilst doing this, I would never try it during self bondage no matter how tempting you find it. What happens if you start choking on it and there's no one to help you?

Okay let's think this through for a minute. You have the sock in your mouth. No matter how you have it turned, the bacteria is already in your mouth. Not to mention all the dirt and other stuff it'll have picked up.

It is not hygienic in any sense of the word.

Some of the bacteria you can find on a human foot, which means they may well be on the socks as well:

I use worn, eg post gym socks, and worn tights for gags. Ads an extra bit of humiliTion as does forced foot worship. Problem with bacteria? Well no worse and probably better that other things we use out mouths fore too graphic fir this board.

Note I prefer the term worn. Dirty socks implies those worn outside without shoes. I'll lick domaines feet fresh from their shoes but not lick the floor. I use the sane rule for sock gags

I only studied the sciences up to college level however I'm quite sure it isn't a huge amount more risk than touching most surfaces in your home then touching your mouth. Bacteria are likely to grow is the moist warm environment of your shoe, however bacteria are everywhere day to day and your body will have mechanisms of defending against them.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, obviously try and make sure they are not ridiculously old and have been for a good hot wash at some stage before you dirty them up again, have fun!

Not really recommended.

First, calf-length athletic socks are not long enough to go around the head. Knee length socks, which are long enough, went out in the late 70's/early 80's.

Second, sweat is a bodily fluid, and there are many diseases that can be communicated through the transfer of bodily fluids. In someone's mouth, dried sweat, combined with the saliva present, can regain liquid form, and be absorbed, usually through the soft tissues under the tongue (sub-lingual). Sub lingual tissues absorb liquids, and even solids, very quickly. Perhaps that's why heart patients are instructed to "dissolve a nitroglycerin tablet under the tongue when experiencing chest pains."

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea, even if the "victim" is gagged with his own socks. The skin is a formidable barrier for bacteria to penetrate. Under the tongue, not so much.
