Actually the book makes a good point; the way the Democratic party is today, there are no good reasons to vote democratic.
Conversely, there are equally no reasons to vote Republican either. A book changing the title to Republican would be equally valid.
Go Green instead. Get corporate money out of politics and get politicians to work for regular people like us instead of for millionaires.
Draft Bernie Sanders for President 2020.

Actually what that shows is the flip side of having a Democracy and freedom of speech.
But I'd rather even people like these can freely speak their minds (or whatever passes for minds in their case) than for such people to actually have their way and impose their close-minded, ignorant philosophies onto the rest of us. That might sound contradictory, but think about it. At least people who disagree with them can still make their voices heard. If either side could gag the other, where would the repression end? Repression of free speech is never the answer; educating the ignorant is.

I disagree. Education is why we're actually making social progress - however slowly it seems to us at times - as time goes on. For example, compare things now to 100 years ago, when WW I was raging (and people dying by the millions because of it), life expectancy was below 60, women and blacks could not vote, no one thought anything about the KKK lynching non-WASPs, inter-racial marriages (let alone gay ones) were felonies in most states, police brutality was actually far more common (and far less criticized by those not subjected to it), health care for the working poor was completely non-existent, social security and welfare did not exist, men were liable to military draft from the age of 18 all the way up to age 45, vagrancy and homelessness were treated as actual crimes (far worse so than even now), and if you were not an adult WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) male landowner or business owner you practically had no rights at all.
What changed this was that people were becoming more educated as to what life was life for the less fortunate and how easily they could find themselves among their number (particularly during the Great Depression). of course, not everyone is trainable - especially older adults - but with a decent system of public education in place (as opposed to the kinds of propaganda some conservatives prefer) this noxious system of bigotry and hatred can continue to be dealt with just as it has been. Even since my own childhood (only half the time i just discussed), there have been huge strides in this regard. If there is equal progress in the next 50 years as in the last 50, our grandchildren will live in a much kinder world, just as this world is much kinder now than it was when i was a child.

that's all well and good, but when you get to adulthood and you're calling for genocide or deportation based on race, religion, whatever, you deserve no better than a severe beating at the very least. period.

According to Wikipedia, "The Raw Story (also stylized as RawStory) is an American online news organization founded in 2004 by John Byrne. It covers current national and international political and economic news and publishes its own editorials and investigative pieces. The Raw Story describes itself as progressive, bringing attention to stories that it sees as downplayed or ignored by other media outlets. It is owned by Washington, D.C.-based Raw Story Media, Inc."

What they report might well be accurate, just as sometimes, you'll find a gem of truth in Newsmax. However, because they do self describe themselves as "progressive," it might be a wise idea to look for additional reports on this event, from other sources.

Also, the mainstream media has been beating up Trump since he won the election. Most reports on him and his activities, are negative. You would think an event where this occurred, would be "raw meat" for both the print, and electronic media, and would lead the national news shows. And yet, it has gone relatively uncovered by the MSM.

I won't come out and say the story is not true, but I will say it should be regarded with a healthy dose of skepticism. I'd look for coverage in the local papers. From what I hear, the Phoenix paper leans to the right, while the Tucson paper is left leaning. I think the Phoenix paper if "The Arizona Republic," while Tucson's paper is "The Daily Star." I could be wrong.

But regardless if the story is fake or real, anti-semitism should be roundly condemned, and I personally believe that Trump would distance himself from such a demonstration, and, more than that, denounce it.

Oh yes, because the new sources that self-describe themselves as 'conservative' are soooooooooo much more reliable!

Did you sort of skip over the fourth paragraph, where I suggested checking the Tucson and Phoenix newspapers, and identified one as "conservative," and the other, as "liberal?"

Would not the local reports provide better and more complete coverage?

Did you notice I quoted only your second paragraph? I did so for a reason; your implied disparagement that a progressive new-source is an inherently unreliable one. Unlike, say, Breibarts or Fox News. Also, I suppose, because i'm not particularly disputing any of the rest of what you said.

If that was true, why would I recommend checking a liberal news source, such as the Tucson paper?

Because living way over in Maine I never heard of the Tucson paper. Since that means I don't know a thing about it, including how liberal it actually is (your ideas of what constitutes 'liberal' being, imo, a tad strange to begin with), I have nothing at all to say about it. Unlike some people I don't venture opinions about matters I know nothing about.
