Commenting per se doesn't burn me out, but the pace with which i have felt pressured (unintentionally) to write stories definitely has been having that effect on me. I've had to take a break because I've been feeling tired and I've had little feedback to my stories to encourage me to keep going unless I feel completely up to it.
This may be one reason why so many other good writers here are also much less active than they used to be. in fact, I know that this is the case with a few of them. It's hard to go on when one works hard to write stories here while feeling under-appreciated. Writing consistently can be hard work, and when one's readership doesn't respond it can be very discouraging.

(I posted a simple story for Christmas last year and no one responded making me feel very much blue. Not even so much as a Merry Christmas)

Has the numbers of users declined or is it just me imagining things??

A few days? According to the post times, it was less than an hour before I answered you. Anyway, I'm glad my simple suggestion has helped.

I know I'm not nearly the oldest one here (no offense anyone...) but I've reached the point I'm older than a lot of users here, and I'm now FIFTEEN years older than someone I saw who posted recently. But I still find it interesting enough I keep coming back.
