Hello ! What's the difference between duct tape and gaffer tape ? I live in Europe.

Gaffer tape is usually used in film and theater productions as a floor marker or to keep cables taped down to the floor and stuff. The only real difference is that it comes in more colors to blend with the stage (and usually isn't shiny like duct tape) and it's not really meant as a strong adhesive and doesn't hold as well as regular duct tape.

How can I make the difference in Europe ? In my country, the grey tape is never called duct tape.
