the last pope prophecy

Something I learned, anyone who predicts anything can be wrong.

Afterall we are only human and thus subject to human error.

From what little I just have read about it over the last few minutes, I can only find mentions "a sequence of cryptic phrases" that Malachy said described a set of visions of future popes. Also, it appears that the list was not in order either, as from where I read (the wikipedia article, so sorry) the first pope on the list turned out to be the 167th pope chronologically. If I've missed or misinterpreted anything about the topic, could you fill me in? I`m suddenly curious, so thank you.

And on a personal note, it also said that the end of this last pope is supposed to be accompanied with the destruction of Rome. While I have no love for the papal system, I would be very sad to hear that such an old city as Rome came to any harm, and hope that it is not true.

Ugh, Rome better not be destroyed before i have a chance to visit!

But remember that prophesy that said we would all die last year? Not much came of that either :D

Its a bit ironic the great supporter of tradition defief tradition by abdicating as the first pope in 500 years. I think Benedict made the right choice though. At his age being pope has bound to be a pretty big burden, especially with stories of abuse coming from every corner of Europe. A new possibly none European pope can be the symbol of a fresh start.

Wheter the new pope will be a black pope i doubt actually. It would be a huge step for the church and i don't think they are ready for that yet.

If he predicted the names, surely they were written down somewhere.

What's to say that the Vatican aren't just using that same list to hand out papal names?

The thought also crossed my mind, if this man was a saint, then the church has a vested interest in putting credence to what he might have said.

I first read about this in 1980, and recall the prediction about the next pope having something to do with the name Benedict 25 years before it actually occurred. The prediction for John Paul II indicated he'd have reign 400 times longer than John Paul I, because I was compared to the moon and II to the sun - which is both 400 times wider than the moon and 400 times further away from us. And I read this in 1980! And sure enough this actually happened!!!
It's not really logical, but I can't help but think there must be something to this particular sets of prophecies.

Don't think so - the communists have been out of the plot business for about twenty years now. And that Kim Jong whatever is just too stupid to produce a plot.(And btw: if that guy's a communist, then Louis XIV of France also was!)

As for plots, however, we should not forget the Free Masons, the Illuminati or the j ... the Mossad. Or some part of the U.S. "National Security" Mafia.

I can't speak for Drawscore, but he was probably joking - just as I was in the post before is and which presumably you are doing too.
In any case, what St Malacchy was a blow-blown destruction of the Catholic Church (which in his eyes was probably the same as the world ending). It seems to me that the Church is doing a good job destroying itself through its sheer irrelevancy. They're even now saying the Girl Scouts is a questionable organization due to the organization's ties with groups the Church does not approve of that teach safe sex. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!!!
