And, that phrase is "Pitching a Tent." Oh, I know what it means now---as an adult. But, way back in 1969, I didn't know the "double meaning" that such a phrase might have. As mentioned, this harkens back to 1969. My Dad and I were taking a camping trip, and we had pulled into a campground in Central Oregon. After getting our own tent---a literal Coleman tent set up, we saw and heard a young woman, standing outside the campground restroom, waiting for her "significant other". It could've been her husband, it could have been her boyfriend...who knows! But, apparently her significant other was taking way too much time to leave the rest facilities. So, she started to yell, "What are you doing in there? Pitching a tent?" "What?" came his reply. "I said, what are you doing in there, pitching a tent?" "Oh, no, I'll be out in a few minutes." My Dad and I looked at each other, and kind of smiled and chuckled at each other. Now, you have to remember, this WAS at a literal campground, where literal camping tents are set up inside a campground---in other words---"pitched." But little did I know then, as a 15-year-old kid at the time, how much of a "double meaning" that the phrase had! I wonder to this day, what did she REALLY mean?
