Rope length for a set

Postby ChloĆ© The Librarian Extraordinaire » Tue Oct 21, 2014 3:23 am

Bonjour
Considering building me a nice real bondage only set of real rope (hemp, jute or nice and soft cotton) for future tugs.
How many ropes (I guess around 10 would be great) should i put in and how long should they be ?
I love a lot of rope on my captives feet, ankles above and below knees, mid and upper thighs, elbows, breast harness and wrists... And sometimes if she asks nicely throug her gag, a lovely Y rope.

Merci !
cheers

I would think you'd need somewhere around 10 ft of rope to tie limbs up, maybe somewhere closer to 15-20 ft to tie around someone's body.

So for what you have listed, I'd guess something like this:

7 10-ft lengths
2 20-ft lengths

The only thing is I don't know what you mean by a y-rope so I'm not sure what to say about that one.

And probably two or three extras of lengths shorter than 10 ft or in between 10 and 20 ft if you find they work better for different uses. A shorter length would be good to connect some of the other ropes such as a hogtie if you want to do that. If you really like a LOT of rope, or you like to tie some really intricate knots, you might want to go slightly longer on the lengths.

If you use the metric system, I know 10 feet is just over 3 meters.

In any case, you should probably just have one or two lengths to start with and test it out in different ways to see if it's long enough for what you want to do before starting the whole set. If you find that 10 ft is too short for tying someone's hands you'll know to go a little bit longer.

I'm guessing that Chloe is using Y-rope as a romantic term for a crotch rope, although I'm probably wrong.

Personally, I don't use different lengths of rope. See, I don't like to think :big: and when all ropes have the same length, I don't need to worry which one I fetch. My preferred lenght is 8m. If I need a greater length, I simple connect more of them.
A "usual" set for me consists of 10 such ropes, but that depends on circumstances. As they say- the more the merrier.

Use 6-7 feet of 1/4 inch cotton clothesline to tie the hands. Use 10-12 feet for the ankles, and 15-18 feet around the upper arms, and above the knees. If hog tying your 'captive,' use another 6-7 foot length, but a piece 3-5 feet long can be adequate.
