Chloro, that was some experience you had there.

I'm just glad that everyone came out of it safely!
Hmm, fears... Well, I don't have a fear of heights, but (interestingly) I
do have a fear of...how to put it...umm, "sudden vertical displacement" would probably be the best phrase to use. For example, I don't like roller-coasters, but not because most of 'em are way up high. It's the sudden drops that get me all panicky and distressed. Like, I'd gladly go on that coaster that goes around the Space Needle in Seattle, but I'd dread those that are even a few tens of feet off the ground, but with steep, fast drops. Another example is that I don't mind planes at all, but those sudden drops during turbulence makes me almost want off immediately.
I don't have a fear of most bugs, but some get me so riled up that I can't even sleep knowing one's in the same room with me. One such type are cockroaches, interestingly enough. Then again, the ones we have here are huge and have a tendancy of dive-bombing us from walls and ceilings when we least expect it. Another are centipedes...but again, the tropical type that we have are quite different than the "house centipedes" most of you are familiar with.
The last fear that I can think of that I feel comfortable sharing is my fear of needles. 'Til this day, I dread doctor appointments simply for this fact. I don't even think they hurt all that much, especially now that I'm 21, but...well, I guess childhood trauma keeps my heart racing whenever I hear the word "shot" mentioned in that context... *shudder*
