Videogame

Postby Jay Feely » Tue Oct 09, 2012 8:45 am

The purpose of a videogame is to have fun,
but lately, people had made it their mission to personally attack my gaming skills by saying things such as "you suck", or "you shouldn't be playing this game" and its really hurting my feelings. We play games to have fun through the good and bad because every gamer will tell you that they cannot win all the time. So a message to gamers out there, play to have fun to get better to learn from losses and not personally attack people for their weaknesses, you need to play with respect, honor, and most of all with great sportsmanship carried on in every single game you play with your friends.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

That's horrible, I hate all the screaming gamers online. If I'm doing good and a teammate isn't , it just makes more sense to encourage him/her to be a better gamer. That way I have a stronger team. Not belittle them and try to get them all upset just because (gasp!) we lost a round of some random game.

Why I stopped using a mic a LONG time ago. But that's online gaming unfortunately. It's always either screaming kids who're probably too young to even be playing the game or lifeless nerds who take the game WAY too seriously (if you hear anyone 'bragging' about how much they get laid or how rich they are, then you know who they are). Remember, the block button is your friend, and don't feed the trolls.

I'm not quite to the point of stopping using a mic yet, although most of the time I'm gaming with people off my friends list anyways, so it's rarely an issue in my case.

Sure is. What games do you play lately? Always room for one more on a friend list :)

I'll PM you, don't want to bombard Jay's post with my online gaming info.

Tf2 community logic- say the f word once, entire server loses respect for you regardless of your ability level.

Don't mind those people and just ignore them.

I've got a feeling the people you mentioned are those 12 year old trolls that swarm Xbox live. Just do as i do, enjoy shooting them a little more

Ok as a hardcore player of moba games I can understand where the community is coming from in this specific genre. If you're bad at a moba your not only losing for your team you are effectively helping the enemy team win (by giving them gold, experience, etc) so it can get frustrating. But on the other hand if you don't take the time to help someone out they'll never learn to be better. So it's a toss up different genres different communities.
Personally though I am always kind in games I play, though I still secretly loathe the terrible players but I don't get angry at them over the internet.
