I really like how have your own unique writing style. Other people would use detail, imagary, and remotely understandable phrases that are, frankly, overrated.

I also love the realistic aspect of your story. I have no problem believing you were tied up for over a week with no explanation of how you ate, drank, went to the bathroom, ect.

Spelling is also overrated.

I think you should just be like me and only read the stories not write any.

So far the comments are more entertaining than the story - and (believe it or not) I really don't mean this as a put-down of the original writing.

This is the most entertaining thing I've read here for a long time.

I've known for a long time that this board is full of kids, but never before have I seen you all act so childish. It's pathetic.

Ahh, don't you just love it when someone desperately tries to take the moral high ground for the sole reason of trying to make themselves feel important, whilst completely missing everything that's going on around them?

That's childish, just like your clearly false assumption that English is a second language for him (which, again, your're just using for that moral high ground to make you feel like this guy's saviour).

Being "this guy's saviour" is much better then the pathetic behavior you guys have been showing.
If a guys grammar is below some standerts then you offer advise and dont make fun of him what most of you are doing is just too pathetic for words.

Actually it's not. You two know that there's nothing wrong with people's behaviour here, and we all know you know it. If you really must do that then at least wait until people are actually doing something wrong until you start mindlessly insulting them.

And what advice is there to give? I shall write a list of the most important advice I think should be given. Please feel free to add onto it:

1-You're not superhuman. You can't go for days without food or water trapped upside down.
2-Your friends aren't superhuman. You won't suddenly faint if they slap you. At worst you might get a sore face.
3-If you look back at your story and it's only one sentence long (it's true, go and look at the story and count the sentences) then you've gone very wrong somewhere.

I did not have to wait long untill someone did something wrong and i'm not mindlessly insulting people.
Most of you are acting like yerks and everyone knows it.

Listen guys, this is no reason to start fighting each other. The "insults" might have crossed some people's boundaries, but KeiranB doesn't need you defending him either. He knows how to reply, and so far he hasn't. He might even be taking an even higher road than you and ignoring all this  I agree this is close to going on for too long, but a good amount of this is going to bickering on the way people act and whether or not it is appropriate.

Now, my opinion about Dominik's examples: using extremely long sentences with throngs of "then" is not an uncommon error of new authors. On the other hand the unrealism (pretend that's a word), shortness and lack of detail of ALL of the stories is something else. For one thing, this section is for real stories. I wouldn't post my best most believable fiction in the true section, so I like to expect that kind of honesty from others. I think most of the board would appreciate it if this thread is just left to die.

Alright Chris and Val are both completely wrong. His story is physically impossible, his grammar and "formation" of the English language is gruesome at best, and he barley has enough detail to convey what happened in his story. If English isn't his first language then maybe he should actually learn it before he posts here. Making people suffer through jibberish is unfair to everyone. And while I back nuclearo's original statement he is being quite hypocritical
Dyin’ ain’t much of a living, boy

Re: Tied up

Postby binder » Sat Dec 19, 2009 1:14 am

Actually you did come to nonsensical assumptions, and you're doing nothing but hurling out insults.

No one was being insulted before you two entered the thread and there was none of this bullying you preach about, and now you're going about screaming insults at people for no reason other than wanting to make yourself feel important. You were wrong and now you're making an embarrassment of yourself, just get a grip and let it go.

Stop all yer bickering guys. Its a free site, its not like you have to pay for what you read, its open content for all and if someone wants to write a story, bad or good then let them, i do agree it should be in the fictional section tho, but I like everyone here is a member and not a story critic else we'd all have our quotes printed to publisise someones book. Keiron B at least contributed something unlike alot of people who are members and thats better than critising other peoples material when they dont share their own. I was a guest on here for a while reading other peoples' stories and thought it only proper to post my own and give something back to the site. Wish my stories had 20+ comments tho... Good on you Keiron.
