Evaluating the Internet

How would you be able to know if sources on the Internet is valid or invalid?
For example, on a recent visit to a news site, I was unaware that onions news protray events in a sarcastic manner and that it's not real. If was only after my friend pointed out to me that it was fictious that I finally realized what I read was correct. Now, there are sources like Wikipedia that my professors frown upon students using because people can always edit materials on there which does not gurantee it to be correct.

So, the next time you are on the Internet, make sure you do the following things if you are doing research:

1. Check to make sure it's a credited site by using other references such as books and etc.
2. If something is too unbelievable, it probably is unless you are on a news site.
3. Before you take information from a website, make sure it's of facts and not really of opinions.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.
