An evening of TUGs

Most of the times I do tie up games with my wife, but we have a family friend whom I have known for years I'll call Jay

I found out Jay might be interested in TUGs a few years ago. He was helping with security at a function and he bought a pair of handcuffs. It wasn't something he needed but he obviously liked them and he let me "try them on."

Anyway, last evening I had a little extra time and he did too, so he came over and I asked him if he wanted to try a TUG. When we do try this, I occasionally tie him up but more often we have a little contest that I can get out of a tie he puts me in. The last time we did this he tied me up 3 times and I got out all 3 times, albeit with great effort. He seems to increase his skill at tying each time.

Last night he seemed eager to try again since I was able to escape last time. He had me sit in a chair and I thought he was going to tie me to the chair but he did not. I crossed my wrists behind me and he proceeded to start wrapping rope around my wrists. In the past he's had a bad habit of getting too fancy and not tying knots often enough making it easy to escape. Of course, with my hands behind me I can't see exactly what he's doing. He wrapped rope in the horizontal and vertical, tying it off several times. He also would wrap rope around each wrist individually and tie that off as well. He used quite a lot of rope. I estimated when he was done that each wrist was wrapped with 6-8 strands.

When he was done, I immediately stood up since I was not tied to the chair and tested my bonds. I was tied tight and there was so much rope used my wrists were pretty well locked together. A very good tie but escapable? I had to see. I tried to reach for knots. I walked over to a mirror and was able to view the tie. Because my wrists were bound with so much rope, I could not move around enough to even get my fingers close to a knot, and there was no other way to excape. After about 10 minutes, I admitted defeat and he untied me. However, that was not the end...

Jay untied me which took a few minutes because of the elaborate nature of the tie. I told him I wanted to try again and he told me to sit down in the chair.

This time he tied my wrists similarly AND tied me to the chair. However, he had gotten a little too fancy and I immediately realized I could get away. So, he worked on it a bit more and when he was done I felt securely tied with my wrists crossed behind the back of the chair and my wrists lashed to the chair.

This time, I tested my bonds and I again felt securely tied. I enjoyed the helpless feeling and tried to find a way to reach a knot. The ropes were much too well tied to simply slip free of. Eventually, I was able to reach a knot and pull it loose. This seemed to start a chain reaction which ultimately loosen my one wrist a bit and I was eventually able to escape. But wait, there's more!

Since Jay had won the first round and lost the second, he seemed willing to try for a tie breaker (no pun intended), and so was I.

One of the ties he had put me in the last time was intriguing and I wanted to try again. He had tied my wrists palm to palm in front of me then pulled my arms up and tied me to a beam in the ceiling in the basement. This beam is about 2 feet over my head. However, despite the secure tie, the tie around the beam last time had been just loose enough that I had been able, after much effort, to reach the knots with my teeth and untie enough knots to escape.

This time, he tied my wrists in an X-pattern in front of me and about as well as the first tie of this evening, if not a bit tighter. He had trouble tying my wirsts to the beam and it was obvious his first attempt was too loose again, so he set to work on improving the tie. He wrapped the rope around my wrists again which seemed to both tighted the tie to the beam and tighten my wrists, although I couldn't see exactly what he was doing. When he was done, my wrists were tightly tied over my head and securely tied against the beam.

Being tied in this way is a very helpless feeling. The tie was really tight and hurt a little but I was impressed with how effective it was. The thought occurred to me that it was a good thing I trusted Jay to free me, and I do. The ropes were really tight against my wrists and I couldn't move them around because Jay had used so much rope and tied me securely to the beam. I told him I couldn't get out and, always being one to want to be helpful, Jay pointed out a knot I could not see which I could reach. I was able to undo that knot but I'm not certain exactly what its purpose was because it did no good that I could see to loosen it. I remained tied as tightly as before.

I tried in vain to find a way to free myself but it was impossible. Meanwhile, the tightness of the tie and having my arms suspended above me was getting uncomfortable. This was a lot of fun but, eventually, I had to admit defeat and ask to be let go, which once again took a while. 3rd times a charm! A fun evening!
