Comments?

Postby teachertied » Sat Oct 06, 2012 12:40 pm

Hiya!

This isn't anything particularly interesting, but I was wondering if this was a recurring theme with anyone else... I get very few comments. I mean, sure, I will get a few per post that I make, but I wish people would talk more on my posts, tell me more about what they think! I genuinely love receiving comments and messages!

Is there a way to increase commentivity? (That should definitely be a word!)

I agree. It can be disheatening when, in spite of hundreds of views following a post, it is uncommon to recieve more than two comments. I have taken to assuming that there is no interest if there are no comments and pming the concluding episosdes of stories to those who have been kind enough to comment on earlier ones.

For every 3 stories you view, you must leave at least one heartfelt comment.

It is a shame that people don't comment, maybe its because most people who read the posts are unregistered? I don't know. But I was wondering if there was a way to get people to write more comments? I will try to comment on your posts! :)

Maybe just my own perspective here, but a lot of the time when I read a story I might not really have anything specific to say. I could always just type the standard "good story thanks for sharing" after I read something, but is that what anybody wants?

Sometimes that is what I want... or maybe people could give me some ideas or suggestions. I really want to discuss what might happen next! For example in my teacher tied post, I love it when people give ideas as to who should be tied up next, or what should happen to them. I'm sure people must have some ideas or wishes. If you want something to happen, just tell me! :)

Fair enough then. I know if all I got constantly were non-thought out obligatory posts then eventually I'd get jaded about them. Maybe a happy medium is best then, I'll try and do my best to remember myself, can't promise for others though lol

I don't want suggestions as to how things should go because I will already have plotted the story but I enjoy appreciative comments and questions. I also appreciate having inconsistencies, typos and unclear passages gently pointed out. Honest!

Well, you know, I did comment on your teachertied posts and gave you those suggestions about all those tied up girls getting revenge. I am still eagerly awaiting your next post just so you know. In fact, I will go comment about that now (I was waiting until you posted the next part to comment. I didn't want to rush it).

Getting little comments for a story isn't really encouraging, especially if you putt a lot of work in your stories but it doesn't have to mean people don't think your story is good. I comment sometimes but generally i don't. Usually i just don't know what to write, it will just seem forced if i post a simple ''good story'' so i avoid doing that.

There is no way to force people to comment.

newbie here, but I am a frequenter on other message boards...

it seems to me that usually if the authors request feedback they get it. At the same time, though, if it's asked in such a way like "I won't keep posting until I get ___ replies" that would turn most people off from replying.

I usually comment on stories I really like, but at the same time I've gotten out of the habit of reading new stories altogether for a long while for lack of time. That should hopefully change soon though.
