That's why I rooted for Bernie Sanders. His only fault was that he lacked the drive and foresight to see his campaign through.
I was skeptical of Bernie, mostly because he was a self-proclaimed socialist, and I see in the news almost every day, the results of having a socialist leader, in Venezuela. Everywhere socialism has been tried, it fails, but the socialists say "That's because the right people weren't in charge."
If Arkansas State Troopers, assigned to the Clintons' protective detail, and Secret Service agents are to be believed, Hillary was a foul-mouthed harridan, contemptuous of them, and of the military. I felt that under a Hillary Clinton presidency, disabled vets and the military, would be ignored, get shafted, or both, Since there is a large number of my extended family that are vets, and a few military retirees, I felt a Clinton presidency would not be in their (or my) best interests.
Hillary also came across as a scheming, dishonest candidate, from the way she (and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz) screwed Bernie during the primaries, and how she conspired with Donna Brazille (sp), (at the time employed by CNN), to get advance copies of debate questions for her debates with Trump in the period between the nominations, and the election.
I was not particularly enamored of Trump, either. It was like an old "South Park" episode, where the school had to choose a new mascot, and the choices were a "giant douche," and a "turd sandwich." I held my nose, and voted fro Trump, as the lesser of two evils. (But the lesser of two evils, is still evil.)
Now that Trump has been in office for six months, I feel that the vets and military have fared better under him, than they would have, under Clinton. I think she would have ignored the VA scandal, and come up with rules of engagement that would get our people killed in the Middle East. I think she would have opened the border to a horde of illegal aliens, and I suspect that her Supreme Court appointments would include Obama, and Loretta Lynch. She was quoted as saying that appointing Obama to the Supreme Court "Would be a great idea." The mere thought of Obama and Lynch being on the Supreme Court, scares the hell out of me, and makes me fear for my country. The steady drumbeat of negativity from the mainstream media, doesn't help, either.
The media reports remind me of the old joke about the two horse race, where the Clinton horse finished second, while the Trump horse came in next to last.
