How common is it?

Postby The Black Falcon » Sat Mar 03, 2012 9:02 pm

Now, I know I'm relatively new to this forum, so forgive me if there's a thread already dealing with this.
That being said, I was wondering, just how common do you think this interest in bondage is? The more I think about it, the more there's got to be some kind of statistic for how many people enjoy bondage in the bedroom and otherwise. I wouldn't think about this so much if I wasn't convinced that so many more people like bondage than they let on. So has anybody got ideas/theories/comments?

The one overriding thought in my head is that not a soul on this earth except myself knows that i am in love with brondage. If the subject is brought up in conversation i just agree with the viewpoint of the person im talking to. Fer example if they say bondage is weird im like "yeah lol who on earth would enjoy that?". Now, that begs the question of what if everybody who likes bondage behaves like me? The majority of the population could like it and we wouldn't even know! I heard somewhere that 40% of people have tried it, but i wouldn't quote me on that haha!

Very stimulating question, thanks for the post!

Im pretty sure its one of the most common things people enjoy. Ive never met a girl who didnt at least like the idea of being tied up and when I think about it, every one I know has probably been tied up at least once in there life.

IDK about adults, but when I was a teenager it seemed like every boy I was friends with loved tying me up or getting tied up themselves! :big:

I know a girl, and she kind of hates even seeing it. Of course, seeing how she was my sister, I can't do TUGs at home.
This is where I'm supposed to put a signature. Hooray.

I think most people are interested in bondage, but a lot daren't admit to it because they think its kinky, cruel, perverted and/or dangerous?

I am asthmatic and I enjoy playing football for my school team. Football is more "socially accepted" than TUGs and most would consider it safer? I've had asthma attacks playing football and 2 years ago I fractured my ankle. I've never had an asthma attack while tied up, and never experienced any serious injuries. So which is the more dangerous?

Gemma and I are amazed how many of our siblings and friends enjoy TUGs, and we often indulge in a wide range of TUGs. Gemma and I have always been close, and TUGS are just one of many things we do together that make us close.

I think that most people will give some form of a bondage a go at some point in their lives - especially once they've become sexually active. I can't think of a single one of my friends who hasn't tried out something that would qualify as bondage - even if it's just the use of blindfolds, fluffy handcuffs, or whatever. It certainly seems to be something that intrigues a lot of people even if they don't have an active interest in it.

I'm not sure how many people out there would class it as a true "fetish" though. I would imagine that the proportion of people who are really into it is fairly low in comparison. That being said, I'm sure that it's one of the most common fantasies out there.

As Paul says, most of our siblings and friends enjoy bondage games to varying degrees and we've been happily and safely playing them from about the age of 6 or 7.

The one exception is my wussy bratty brother.

There's so many ways to look at this, because, let's face it, bad people do bad things when they restrain someone.

Putting that influence on bondage aside, I think Samantha wrapped it up pretty tightly, in that part of sexual exploration leads you there eventually. Also, on another note, just about every TV sitcom has an episode where there's some tie-up eventually, and considering you can go into a novelty store like Spencer's in the US and buy fluffy handcuffs and even hogtie straps, then it's a fair bet that there's decent size chunk of the population that "gets it!"

I think teenagers take the piss when they talk about it, but a few who legitimately enjoy it, but it's one of the most common fetishes, same as feet.
I'm all yours. Use any method of tying me up and I'll welcome it. Gag me however you wish. Blindfold me if you need to. Just don't hurt me! :D

We have a large circle of siblings and friends who enjoy bondage games to varying degrees.

If its done properly as it should, bondage is safe, good, clean, harmless fun than brings people to together.
