They are certainly fun, and can be effective, but there are a couple of things you should know.
1. They usually don't stay in without something else holding them in place - even the "butterfly" type. You still need something that goes around the head - tape, a ring gag on a buckling strap, or a hood with a small mouth hole. (You can remove the pump bulb, feed the air tube through the mouth hole, then reattach the pump bulb.) There are also some vendors that sell a pump gag pre-mounted in a buckling mouth strap or panel.
2. If very inflated (and you need a fair amount of inflation if you want them to be more mouth-filling than a sock), they can block the airway. Pump slowly and watch the victim's reaction, especially when using it on someone for the first time. The safety advice not to leave a bound and gagged person unattended goes double when using one of these.
