Most writers (that I know of, anyway) are perfectly fine with others reposting their work, just as long as you credit them. It's also a good courtesy to try asking for permission first, and waiting a reasonable time for them to send a reply. If no reply is givin, or if the author can't be reached for whatever reason, then go ahead and post it if the board rules allow it, but be prepared to take it down if the author finds out and wishes it. Also, if you do post it, you'll need to post it verbatim. Otherwise, you'll need to rewrite the whole thing in your own words (aka, an adaption).
That's the protocol I'm familiar with regarding online works, anyway. Might be different for this site.
