The longest I've been tied with rope was eight hours spread eagle between four trees. A friend and I were wrestling each other. Winner was to tie the loser. Even though he is 25 years younger than me, and was a wrestler in high school, since I am five inches taller and fifty pounds heavier, and somewhat stronger, I win ALMOST as many matches as I lose. This time I lost. He tied me spread eagle between four trees in the middle of nowhere. Sat and talked to me for a while, while he ate breakfast and had a cup of coffee. Then he decided that since he had worked night shift and hadn't gotten to sleep yet, he would "take a nap." He assured me he would only sleep a half hour, MAYBE an hour. Then he would wake up and untie me, then go home to sleep for six or eight hours. Sadly, he fell asleep there and slept for eight hours. Since he had me blindfolded, gagged, and tied helplessly, I had no way of waking him, and no way of getting loose. Yes, my phone did ring about a dozen times while I was tied, but I wasn't able to answer it and he slept through the music it played.
The longest I've been held prisoner is ten days. Several years ago I had a young man as a roommate. He lived with me for almost a year. Great guy. Had a wife and two kids but he didn't live with them (long story). But, I saw them frequently and often baby sat for him, while he and his wife went out for the evening. All in all, a great guy, perfect roommate, and really good friend. Sadly, after living with me for ten months, one of his "friends" introduced him to drugs. I came home from work one day to find that he had broken in to my room, stolen my TV, and broken in to my safe, and stolen $500 and a hand gun. I called the police and turned him in. He was detained a few days then released till his trial date. He called me, in tears, full of remorse, promising me that he would give me $2500 (far more than he had stolen if I would drop the charges). Since we had known each other so long, and he seemed so sincere I agreed to meet up with him, get the money, and after I had gotten the money, I would drop the charges. I'm a much better fighter than he is and he knows it. In fact, he's afraid of me. However, he IS 20 years younger than me and a MUCH better wrestler. While he was living with me, we would wrestle quite frequently. Even though I'm no match for him, every once in a while he would allow me to beat him so I could tie him up. However, he could easily beat me in wrestling whenever he wanted. When I got to the place (VERY secluded) where he was staying. He met me at the door and invited me in. Very friendly. We sat and talked for a while and he offered me a glass of iced tea. As I followed him to the kitchen to get the drink, he suddenly turned around and tackled me. It didn't take long for me to lose the wrestling match and get tied up. Then he picked me up and carried me to the bedroom. He had chains bolted to the floor, at the four corners of the bed. He chained me hand and foot spread eagle. Then he told me that he was waiting for his income tax refund. As soon as it got there, probably in a day or two, he'd release me, give me the money, and he would leave the state. He knew I would beat him up if he turned me loose so he kept me chained spread eagle and only allowed me Gatorade. No solid food. He allowed me to urinate in a bottle, which he would dump in the toilet. Took ten days (NOT a day or two) for his income tax refund to get there. When it finally did, he came in and told me that since he had kept me prisoner for so long, he was afraid he would get arrested for kidnapping (that was CERTAINLY MY plan). So, instead of giving me the $2500 and releasing me and leaving the state. He was keeping ALL the money, and KEEPING ME CHAINED and leaving the state. When he first chained me, I discovered a screwdriver on the bed. I kept it hidden, planning on stabbing him, if the opportunity arose. When he came to tell me he was leaving me there to die, unless someone happened to find me, he had just finished nailing boards over the windows. He laid the hammer down while he was telling me he was leaving me there. When he left, he forgot the hammer. I struggled for quite a while, but finally manage to reach the hammer. I put the chain in the claws of the hammer, and twisted the chain with the screwdriver till I finally managed to break the chains. I walked to the nearest gas station and called the police. I was taken to a hospital and admitted for a few days. My captor left the state. If he ever returns to that state, he WILL be spending a long time in jail. Sadly, they did NOT charge him with kidnap. (we never crossed state lines). Instead, he was charged with unlawful restraint. So, the seven year statute of limitation applies and will expire in December. Looks like I have all the scars and nightmares and he is living a good life somewhere. Beginning to wonder if he is sadistic enough to contact me in January once his warrant expires, or if I'll never hear from him again. I check with his wife and two kids occasionally. They do hear from him, every month or so, and promise them, he'll see them SOON. I think it's time I move to a different state.
