Twas the Night before Christmas

Postby LordNelson » Sun Dec 01, 2013 2:18 pm

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The parents were hung by the chimney with care
a pair of rotten children had put them up there.

The children were certainly in a bad mood
‘More gifts’ they cried ‘more candy, more food!’
They set up an ambush, mom and dad were trapped
and like a pair of gifts the two of them were wrapped.

The first to be caught was poor little mother
Surprised in the bedroom by sister and brother.
Dad was jumped next, he put up a fight
but resistance was futile, they tied him up tight.

Using red festive ribbon they tied hands and feet
Scotch tape over mouths made the capture complete.
They checked the bonds, it all was done quite tight
the stockings came down, and parents up for the night.

Mom and dad struggled with a shake and a kick
the kids left them there to be found by St Nick.
Milk and cookies for Santa, then they went in a hurry
to their beds to sleep like babies, with nary a worry.

And then, in a twinkling, they heard on the roof
the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
The kids were asleep, mom and dad heard the sound
down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot
and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back
and he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow
and the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

When he saw the pair dangling he knew there was trouble
and using his magic he fixed it on the double.
He didn’t need a list to know who was naughty and nice
He saved Christmas Eve by blinking just twice!

The tied up couple floated down from the wall
the ribbons and tape drifted off down the hall!
Another wink of his eye and a twist of his head
the children were next to be bound in their bed.

The ribbons and tape tied the kids up quite tight
but did it so gently they slept through the night.
When morning came they cried and complained
but no one could hear them, they were well restrained!

Little Sally was hogtied, her hands and feet bound
the layers of sticky tape prevented a sound.
Timmy was tied, stretched spread eagle to bed
with more of that gift tape wrapped round his head!

Poor Sally she struggled but came to realize
her efforts were useless and tears filled her eyes.
Timmy was a fighter, he fought back the most
but he was secure with a limb to each post!

Mom and Dad finally woke up some time around ten.
They made Christmas love and then slept again.
They woke once more at eleven and looked at the hour.
It was time to get up and together to shower.

He shaved his chin and she shaved her legs.
Then they had a nice breakfast of bacon and eggs.
Dad said 'Now mother?', but mom said ‘Too soon’
and they left them tied up in their beds until noon!

Amazing! Probably the best tale I have ever read! Loved the narrative, the rhyme, everything. I'd love to read more tales written that way. Congratulations

Thanks for your kind comments. I find it amazing that you found this almost five months after Christmas but it gives me hope that others like you are taking the time to go through some of the older stories. Those who only read recent postings are missing out on a lot of great tales.
