Shouldering an Injury

Hello everybody, I know you’ve missed me (i wish). I apologise for my sudden absence, I have had the most hectic past 4 weeks in the history of man. A mixture of schoolwork, technical difficulties, exams and an infuriating shoulder injury have kept me away. Fortunately I have found a little bit of time to write a quick tale that happened within these weeks due to my injury. It’s quite short but it’s the best I have time for at the moment.

Shouldering an injury

It was my first day of school since my injury (I think it was the 14th of November) and it had been awful. I had managed to completely shear a muscle in my shoulder while playing football/soccer, because of the severity of the injury and the obscurity of its location I had my arm in a splint that meant my right hand was pulled across my chest and my elbow was pointing downwards. If the fact that this was my dominant hand wasn’t a big enough inconvenience, the nurse had taken it upon herself to wrap a sling around my upper arm in order to completely immobilise my right arm.
The hilarity of not being able to do any work and having it photocopied soon wore off and by the last lesson I was simply an irritable person. Annoyingly for me, the final lesson was football and as a result I would have to sit on the sideline twiddling my thumb as the others let off some steam. It would seem fate was not content with merely this, she had another punishment in store for me.
Before the lesson, my ginger friend, Ben (mentioned in my earlier posts) came up to me during break and asked how I was doing, frustrated I replied “I feel about as much use as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest”. Expecting a smile at my witty remark I was surprised when Ben just looked at me and asked “Seen what I found on the way to school”. He pulled a cable tie from out of his pocket.
“What are you gonna do with that?” I replied.
“Have some fun.” As he said this, he lunged towards me and grabbed hold of my left hand. Then, half sniggering at my helpless one armed struggles he forced my hand down into my pocket and held it there while catching a breather. Then as I began to complained he fiddled with the cable tie and hooked it round my wrist and through a nearby vacant belt loop just above the pocket (I never need a belt). I heard it click and I knew that I couldn’t escape; my splint needed my left hand to release it and surprisingly for a little belt loop it withstood all of my struggles. “I’m going to enjoy football” he said as he surveyed his work, “I think I’ll let you out when we get off the bus”. That was a good 2 hours away and there was nothing I could do. In terms of helplessness, the cable tie and my splint were as effective as tying my hands behind my back. The bell went and everyone scurried to their lessons, I peered over at my restraints and I thanked my lucky stars that my blazer covered the cable
tie and that the tie wasn’t a jagged type.

The last lesson of the day felt as long as the whole dreary day. One hand cemented in my pocket and the other across my chest. I cowered whenever anybody came nearby and had an unfortunate event where the ball came skimmed towards me, bounced off my foot and I was helpless as it floated towards and sunk itself into my face’s soft embrace. All of this to the delight of my classmates.

Eventually the day came to a close, me and Ben were walking to the bus when I suddenly realised that I couldn’t get the change out of my pocket for the bus. Of course Ben rushed to my rescue and instead of cutting my hand free, took it upon himself to root through my pocket, get the money and pay the bus driver for both of us. The 45 minute journey was a hilarious one, from the perspective of Ben. I couldn’t keep my balance through all the sudden stops, twists and swerves that come as a given on a bus traveling down Britain’s pot-hole infested roads. It was only when I was face down staring at a soggy newspaper on the floor that Ben decided to prop me up against him. Our stop came and I made my way down the still mobile bus to the exit via a few old lady’s laps and stepped off at my stop. I turned to Ben who already had a pair of scissors out and he cut my left hand free. Flexing it a little a noticed the red mark left by my pocket and the cable tie and gave him a politely warned him “If you ever f*****g do that again I’ll personally snap your arm across my knee. Ben smiled smugly and skipped on home.
My right arm was in a splint until Dec 2nd but eventually it became a routine and I found that I could stay up all night (of course I spent all of my time on this website :3) and sleep in some lessons where we worked all lesson and no-one would mind, all of this made it a little easier

I know it’s not brilliant and is probably as boring as hell but it’s all I have time for at the moment. I hope to start a new story by Saturday. I’m not sure when it will be out because I found I stretch my stories into the 1000s of words and I’d hate to leave a post on this site and forget about it, thus leaving an unfinished story.
You've seen the best and now your gonna see the rest!

Why not consider this story as flexing your muscles in preparation for your next?
Boxer shorts are cool,
but little speedos rule!
