How Explicit Should Stories Be. . ?

Postby SamanthaBoundx » Wed Feb 16, 2011 4:56 am

I've just been writing up one of my experiences to post on the board and I've had real trouble trying to phrase things in a way that aren't too sexually explicit. And it just made me wonder what people's opinions on explicit stories are. . .

Do you like the stories you read on this site to have sexual content or do you prefer them to be just for fun?

And what do you think the appropriate level of sexual content to include in a story? Is it too much to even suggest sexual activity or do you not even bat an eye lid when someone describes their positions in full pornographic detail??

That helps a lot thanks!

Reading through that, I'm pretty happy that my own stories are fairly tame now, haha xD

I use "bust" instead of breasts, undressed rather than naked. I was looking at an old comic the other day and the pictures of a girl tied up were quite suprising for the time. The girl had her legs tied so that they were open, rope over her bust etc. In A la villa rose by AEW Mason, there is a lot of bondage scenes and one paragraph that says the girls in question was stripped off and she must have been tied afterwards. We read this in class at age 14!
Oh yes there was a picture in the Beezer of a women tied and the ropes under her bust did make a bust stand out- the arist myst have done that for effect.
So in effect the barriers have been pushed for years. In fact there was more bondage scenes in say "School Freind"(aimed at young teenage girls) than anywhere else!!

Meh, the way I see it, thats why there's a seperate forum for "INTIMATE" stories, they're supposed to be sexually involved to a degree. Just how graphic you want to get is up to you. There's plenty of stories on here that end in heavy petting, oral sex, and intercourse. Fine by me :D

As long as the emphasis is on the "being tied up" aspect, and that all parties involved are consenting to what's happening, there is no torture involved, etc, expliciteness is ok.

Hope this helps.

I just read your story about your one GF Sarah and think it is well within the parameters of acceptability here.
If you ever read any of my stories, you'd realize that you have quite a bit of unused leeway with how far you can go with the details!
You're not the first writer to express such concerns anyway. Other writers, including myself and Snobound when we started, were also concerned about how far was too far.
Eventually I grew raher bolder and decided to find out for myself what the limits here are; hence my signature.
Haven't hit the zone of outraged reactions yet and go into LOTS more detail than you have so far, so I think *you're* pretty safe!!!
Please keep on writing; IMHO you're doing great!

I dont think you offended anyone!

I was personally just in awe of how tame my own story was after comparing it to your own fantastic one :)

I think that so long as what goes on is implied rather than given in full detail, I don't see a problem.

Plus, it leaves more to the imagination.

Personally, I don't need that much explicism in a story. I prefer indirect hints. I don't come here to read soft- (or hard-) core p00rn.
It's like with high quality erotic photography- the catch is not to show everything but to get the viewers imagination started.

Yes, that's pretty much what I do as well - or what I try to do anyway. Use of corny metaphors instead of blatantly minute descriptions for example. "Willy rises to the occasion" or "Old Faithful exploded into spray" when describing... well, you get the idea. So far no one has complained about such things in my stories yet - at least, not directy to me they haven't - and I've done it quite a lot. I try to avoid graphic language if dry humor will do; letting, as Fesselfan said, the reader's imagination conjure what images they like best or pass over it as they prefer.
