Trussed up Thanksgiving

Postby Ranlar » Sun Nov 24, 2013 6:21 am

This story begins as do most of my holidays out on the farm with my parents and various cousins. A gaggle of uncontrollable bored and over energetic kids. But every year the adults would brave the gathering hoping no kids got to badly injured lost or otherwise maimed in the adventures.
This year there six total kids. Three males Scott (me) 12 Steve (cousin) 13 AJ 10 (cousin) and three girls Darla (11) Aunt Fawn (9) cousin and Farah (10) cousin. We had played all the games in the book to entertain ourselves over the years at Thanksgiving. So this year I decided to go very cliché and said pilgrim's and Indians. I got the generalized groans and moans, I shot back with to you have a better idea? Which now that one was posed they didn't.
So we set out to the barn to get our normal gear. The adults knew about our games after finding out about them 3 years ago and after the initial shock they figured it was better to accept it then not and have us do it anyway somewhere they couldn't keep an eye on us. I went to the trunk in the back and found someone had stocked the trunk for us. Instead of old scratchy rope there was new cotton rope of varying lengths an diameter. Along with silver duct tape and about 20 bandanas of different colors.
"Wow! Someone left us a care package" Steve says looking over my shoulder.
"Yes it would appear so..." I say picking up the big roll of duct tape. It was clumsy and hard to work with sometimes but I just loved the stuff.
"Great who is ready to loose some skin?" Darla groaned good naturedly. I start to stalk toward her, I am bigger then her in height and weight but she is much faster in the trade off.
"Hold it! Before anyone gets attacked lets pick sides" AJ says. "And if we are doing pilgrims and Indians you are loosing the tape....they didn't have it back then"
My turn to groan this time as I am logically stripped of my favorite material.
"Ok fine I will spare them this time." I say tossing the new roll into the box.
"We want to be the Indians" Fawn and Farah both side at the same time. The two sisters smiling, they where both the shortest of the group but did fully love to be the damsels in distress.
"And what would a group of Indians be without a Chief?" AJ, their brother says. We all look at each other and answer in unison.
"A group of Indians!" We all laugh.
"All right so the siblings are the Indians, leaving me Steve and Darla as the pilgrims. So here is the plan...the girls go foraging and are captured by us out on patrol. And Darla is captured by the Chief because she is the girl and is independent and wanted to out on her own yada yada." I say.
"Well first off, the men usually did the hunting and foraging in the tribe, and second of all why would pilgrims be patrolling?" Darla asks.
"All right fine he goes out hunting we capture you and he captures her. We don't need a reason for us to be out and about little miss smarty pants." I say. They all laugh as I go to the chest and grab several coils of rope 3 or 4 bandanas. Steve does the same followed by AJ.
We all head out to field where we play. The grass is tall and ray making that raspy sound when the gentle wind blows through it. The field is complete with a stand of trees in the far corners which we use as bases, and a pond near one of the bases. The Indians take the far corner base. We all wait for about 10 minutes before we start out.
Me and Steve leave for the pond and slowly work are way around the dam side of it keep our eyes peeled. We see the chief slowly making is way through the grass going the opposite way we were. We drop down under the grass and start to crawl along the ground. No cows or horses to spook just had to be careful of slow moving cold blooded reptiles. The Chief dissappears behind the damn and we pop up out the grass and pick up speed headed twoard the other base where we assume the other 'indians' are hiding.
We traverse the 5oo yards or so to the oppisite side of the feild and carefully enter the stand of trees. In the clearning we see the two sisters. Making a fire pit and stocking it with wood. I wave Steve off to the other side of the clearing and I wait. About a minute later he bursts out of the trees making a racket making a grab for Farah who makes a token attempt at escape. Fawn plays the scared girl role much better running away. Which is when I jump out of the bushes and grab her. They are screaming thier heads off calling for help and struggle like wild cats. Steve and me pin them to the ground and bind thier hands quickly. Then bandanas are tied tightly between there teeth muffling a bunch of the protests.
"Looks like we caught ourselves some savages" Steve says.
"They said they are all over the place what do we do with them?" I ask.
"Lets take them back to camp can always use a few more hands." Steve says as we both pick the girls up to thier feet. At this point they start to kick at us. Back to the ground they go as I sit on Fawn. Good thing we are all wearing old clothes or our partents would have been mad.
"They are fiesty arent they?" I laugh.
"Yes they are more rope it is" Steve says as we both tie thier ankles leaving about 5 inches of rope between the ankles hobbling the effectively. We get them back to thier feet and using the last of the rope we tie a loop around thier waist and lead them pulling and screaming and moaning into the gags. About half there they really start to fight and for thier struggles they get blindfolded as well to further make things hard for them.
We get to pond and walk them around the pond to find our 'camp' ransacked. The backpacks are emptied and all over the place and it looks like a struggle took place.
"Dang what happened here?" I ask as we sit the girls down cross legged and tie the waist rope around the ankles to keep them from standing up. We search the campsite and find a note telling us that our woman had been taken and if we want her back to meet the Cheif on the dam and we could by her back.
"Buy her back with what?" I ask laughing the girls giggle being the gags.
"Oh about beads?" Steve says pulling out a strand of bright plastic beads the kind you get for marty gra celebrations.
"I dont want to know why you are carrying around a necklace." I say laughing. Steve glares at me. I just grin.
"Good bring the beads and we will bring the girls" I say as we move to untie thier legs and help them up. As we trudge up the one side of the dam we can see the Chief with his captive in the middle.
Darla tied with rope around wrists in back and around her body just under her chest. A bright red bananda in her mouth and rope around her waist as well.
"White man you come on to my land and steal it and my people." AJ says in a very corny deep voice and accent.
"Oh geez drop the accent at least I would be able to this with a straight face" I say.
"You must pay homage return my people if you wish your woman returned to you and not start a war between our people." AJ says. 'Very good' I think to myself.
"Chief we are sorry to have intruded and insulted your tribe." I say.
"We offer your women back and these vaulabe beads to use in trade with our people and for the peice of land we want." Steve says. The girls groan this was gettingn to corny for them too.
"That is accectable." We pull our captives to the middle of the damn and exchange our captives and beads but before we can go any futher we hear a shrill whistle and the call of 'Dinnnnerrrr!!" Called out on the wind.
"Dang already?" I say as each of us boys takes a captive and heads back in. Darla able to move faster then the sisters we take our time till we get to the lawn and then we all move a bit faster.
We get to the house and see my mom standing on the porch looking us over and shaking her head.
"For goodness sakes kids. Boys get the girls loose and get changed for dinner now!" SHe say strenly. We boys grin like cats that ate teh carney but do as we are told. The girls are untied blind folds and gags removed. The boys coil up the rope and fold the banandas and run to the barn to replace them adn then run back to the house to change.
All the game was short sweet and to the point it does kill time and it was a blast.
