Self-Mummification

Hey all, I just wanted to share this method I had of self-mummification and see if anyone had perfected a better technique. Parts of this is common sense.

What you need:
1. 200+ ft roll of saran wrap (or more if you like) for someone under 6 feet. I am taller, so I use closer to 300 ft.
2. A gag (if you want it, which I assume you would)
3. Paper towel dispenser. (Like this one: Image)
4. Counter, table, or chair around waist high.
5. Some tape to fasten the paper towel dispenser down so you don't move it off the counter/table/chair.
6. Means of escape, like a knife (depends on how well a job of mummifying yourself you do, which I haver never needed one)

Process:
- First, I strip down to my speedos or jockstrap (it gets REALLY hot)
- Apply gag. For me, this is usually various layers of tape, often around the head and under the jaw to keep my mouth shut.
- Sit down and start wrapping your ankles up. The tighter you wrap the more inescapable. Even a little bit of wiggle room becomes a lot when you start sweating a lot.
- Once you get to your hip, I advise to start wrapping your lesser hand with your body TIGHTLY. Since I am right handed, this means my left hand gets wrapped to my side.
- Don't miss an inch, and you can do it tight enough where this one hand is completely immobile.
- Be sure to go over both shoulders in an "X" formation to limit shoulder movement.
- At this point, your entire body should mummified except your main hand (for most, that's your right hand.) This is where you stick the saran wrap on the paper towel roll. I advise starting at the shoulder and working your way down by simply slowly spinning yourself and spreading the saran wrap over you arm and connecting it to the rest of your mummified body.

The weakness in this process is definitely the last part. Despite my best efforts, I cannot manage to get it as tight and immobilizing as my left hand, and so while it gets covered in saran wrap and there is general immobility, after a few minutes of struggling and sweating, escape it not that difficult.

Anyone got any better methods?

The last times I tried it, I did what a my dear chat friend taught me.
I'm trying now to explain it, in despite of my very crappy English.

First of all, to save my bodyhair, I got a cheap disposable overall. Then I went ahead just as Mr.E did, wrapping myself until my chest and my arms still free.
Btw, to wrap up I used the brown tape because it's cheap though quite effective. I know... the duct tape looks better but to save money is equally important. :geek:
Anyway, the difference between our systems is how to wrap the arms.
Now comes the boring part of the matter, but I can assure you that a bit of bother's worth it. Before wrapping myself up, I prepared with the help of my kitchen table a "big sheet" of tape stripes, high as your chest and long... longer it is... and better it is (actually I made two sheets and then I stuck them together cause my table is not so long)
All what you have to do now is... to lay the big sheet on the floor, lay you down and wrap your upperbody in it, keeping your arms in place. I you keep your arms along the body you will need an higher sheet.... but if you keep your arms crossed on your chest (like Tutankhamon) you can make a not so high sheet and you can also spare bother making it.

This method it's quite effective I think and when you're totally wrapped up it's very difficult try to stand up, so my advice is.... if, during your game, you like also to stand up or jump around in your new suit.... you could lay the sheet down not onto the floor but on the bed (a double bed is better), so when you're wrapped you can stand up quite easily.

Last suggestion: this, how I said, is very effective and, if done well, don't hope to get out without help!! :tied:
So it's better if you set also an escape plan.... it could be a little knife in your hand or, if you like more the cliff-hanger scenes :worried: , something setted so that you can rub yourself against it, until the tape will be ripped.
That's all I think....
