This can be anything- from impossible to simply ask- depending on the involved persons.

This is a question I want to ask as well. How do you get new people into you games? Sorry FesellFan, but that post doesn't help much.

Of course it doesn't help you, he basically said "This question has no answer. It depends on the person you ask, and even mediocre results aren't guaranteed with any method"

Wouldn't it have been nice if human beings were even a tad more predictable?

You gotta just know when the moments right for the given situation. Kind of an intuition thing, like when you can tell it's time to show your lady the bedroom.
Some will react well to being tied up without being asked, others would rather be brought into it casually through a bet or conversation. Be smooth and confident and I think you will find it's less awkward and difficult as you think it may be now.

True. Humans are very different. If someone would know you well, and would know the person you want to ask, he could *perhaps* give you a good advice. However, without any knowledge of the involved person, a sound advice is near impossible. (My foreposters advices are not too bad).
There is always the possibility of failure, no matter what and how you do it.

In my experience, my friends who aren't in to it don't really care that I'm in to it. We just don't talk about it.

But the few friends who are in to it. Well I'm glad I brought it up.

I agree tho. Start with just joking around a little and feel it out. Being direct has worked in the past for me but generally after feeling a person out first.
