None. Soccer is for the weak.

I support the national team made famous in the book "Alive." You will never hear the survivors of that book be called weak after what they endured.
From whence I came and whence I went heaven said I was too evil and sent me to hell. Demons and devils succeeded in breaking my soul.

On the national i support my own country (Even though they suck).
Champions league i would go for either Barcelona or Liverpool.

Can't even begin to understand how soccer can be better than American football. Soccer is so boring

Oh man, all these people don't like soccer. But that's their opinions, not really my problem. I guess I support America as well, because of what Viking said, as I live in America, even though I'm not American in heritage.
This is where I'm supposed to put a signature. Hooray.

You know, real football is called football because the player is supposed to use his foot to move a ball.

And my team is and will ever be
Alemannia Aachen
(Germany,second division :annoy: )

I too am a hater of football as the most boring game in the world. However, followers of the American perversion of the game should probaly ask why the entire world follows football (as has been said, the game where a sphere is manoeuvred by foot) rather than their game in which, as soon as anything happens, the entire team changes and the ball is given to the other side. Christ, it's enough to turn me into a football fan!

Football is actually a term that was used to describe some of the more popular games played with balls on foot, as opposed to being played on horseback (such as polo). In most of the world, this is what is now known here in the US as soccer. In the US and Canada, it became two slightly different variations of what is roughly the same game known as American or Canadian football. Australia had their own version too. Calling it football has nothing to do with the ball being kicked by the feet.

Also, soccer was originally a British term. It is short for asSOCiation football. So everyone who takes offense to Americans and Canadians calling the game soccer should blame the British for coming up with the term.

And back to the actual topic here, I don't watch much soccer. I tried to watch the World Cup last time around but couldn't get into it. I generally find soccer to be boring to watch.

Hi Kyle. Try looking up "shrovetide football" to examine the roots of the sport. There is still a couple the real games being played. See also bottle kicking and "Haxey Hood".
There is at lest one historical precedence for limiting the number of players who may be on horseback!
The rules of one of the games stated that "No man shall bear fire-arms".
But akways rememeber the words of the Head Boggan: If tha' meets a man, knock'n dahn but don't hurt'n."

May I object to the comparison of Aussie Rules to A******* F*******?
The censored game involves one group of armoured rhinos clashing with another of the same. The "ball" seems to be incidental.
In Aussie Rules brave but ill-advised pre-frontal lobotomy patients, un-armoured, do unspeakable things to one another until someone blows a whistle. The whistle seems to indicate that a foul has been committed. However, no-one seems to have done anything to one-another that they had not been doing without interferance before the idiot referee blew his whistle. It makes for a MJUCH mor exciting game!

The fact that had to be made a rule really makes you wonder what led to that point.

While I am not a big fan of European football (called "soccer" here in the states), this thread does remind me of a rather unfortunate "blooper," made on live television on the game show "You Bet Your Life," hosted by Groucho Marx, back in television's early days, in the mid 50's."

During the host-contestant patter before the first question, the conversation involved baseball, and Groucho asked the contestant if he was a fan of the Yankees, or the Giants. The reply was "Oh, no! I'm an Athletics supporter."
