Handcuffs

Postby bondageboy96 » Wed Dec 31, 2014 10:02 am

Where can I get metal handcuffs with the safety opening latch on that are not crap and fall apart. Bought 2 different types and they are terrible. Unless someone got some real cuffs they want to use on me

Sometimes you can find decent handcuffs and ankle cuffs on eBay. They are also available at Army-Navy stores, police supply stores, and magic shops.

I think the key is "WITH the safety latch". For the most part only toy handcuffs have the safety latch, and they're all poorly made--small and easy to break or bend. Any good cuffs like most of the ones in the responses do NOT have a safety latch. But I wouldn't even want to play with cuffs with safety latch, not nearly as much fun! Better to get good quality ones and practice getting out with the key. I've got several sets of handcuffs and leg cuffs to try on . . . Including some that you CANT get yourself out of even with they key, you have to have someone else release it!

These are the pair of cuffs that I used for several months before I was brave enough to attempt my real handcuffs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006GKB4S/ They do have a small safety catch on them for that extra safe feeling for those not so daring. I used them a lot and they never broke and I think they are even thicker than my real handcuffs haha. The latch is also smaller than what I have seen on some other toy handcuffs. If you have had issues with cuffs being too small for you, these might also be too small, but I have smaller wrists so I don't notice.

I do second what others are saying here though. Do get a set of real police handcuffs. You can find auctioned ex-police cuffs for sale on ebay (or gumtree) in your country quite often for around 10 quid at times. If you do get some, make sure they have fully functioning ratchets, some you will find don't operate properly anymore and that's why the police force auctioned them. You do get to practice opening up real handcuffs though and can practice that a lot; for those times when one of us ties you up (cuffs you up?) and you want to be devious and escape with that secret paperclip. Good to practice and learn how real cuffs feel and operate, even if you don't intend on putting them on yourself soon.
Cheers.

I only saw a good kind like that once, at a local Howard Johnson's years ago. They had a case where they sold "Spy Equipment". A bought a pair of handcuffs that I'm still using today. One key broke and the other got lost, but the release mechanism is terrific and they work great. I wish I could find another pair just like them myself.

When I was a kid every toy "policeman's kit" had a plastic gun, a plastic badge and METAL hand cuffs. They were quite sturdy, not like the cheap plastic ones that are available these days. I had several victims put up one heck of a struggle that would have broken plastic ones in seconds and they held; they did not open or bend. It's too bad that we can't find that quality any more.

I like collecting different styles of handcuffs, so I shop on ebay a lot to see what's out there. I've had some aluminum toy ones that were very light but could bend and break easy. But on ebay I've seen antique TOY handcuffs that are made of heavy metal and look a lot like what you described; they have a release button instead of a key, but look VERY sturdy. (And I've had the plastic ones too. Worthless.)

PS. I don't know if what I saw are the same thing, and I don't know how old you are, so I am NOT calling you an antique. :)

I'm pretty close to being an antique but I prefer the word vintage, it seems to be more acceptable these days. The ones I am familiar with had the release button but they also had keys. They were similar to the ones below but I remember them being a bit more rugged.

Not what I was thinking, I seen some a lot older than these, and my cousin had some like these years ago, but they turned out pretty flimsy and untrustworthy. One of them jammed closed!! But not while someone was wearing it thank God.
