Bondage fraternity?

Postby TUfriend » Sun Sep 11, 2011 1:41 pm

Are there any fraternities that specifically are for bondage? Because I'm looking at colleges and if I have to make a choice between 2 that I like equally then that would be something to take into consideration.

I doubt that any of them openly admit it to outsiders; otherwise you could google the information. It's probably oneof those things that are kept secret unless you're already a member.

I am not aware of any completely dedicated to bondage but in any given house there are most likely a few guys into it. Good luck!

Most if not all colleges have anti-hazing rules these days. In all but six states, it's a matter of law, although some only activities that result in or are likely to result in physical injury. Others, however, go so far as to prohibit things that are likely to cause embarrassment.

It does still happen - see for example http://cornellsun.com/section/news/cont ... s-13-death - but even back when it was more acceptable I doubt it was openly advertised.

A fraternity is a group of guys at a college who form a brotherhood. It's like a secret club.

It's a group of college students who hang out almost as if they're brothers. Often times require initiatin with hazing and have many parties.

I think the closest equivalent is an Oxford dining club. But American fraternities (and sororities) also frequently provide a residence, not just a dinner gathering.

Fraternities and sororities (also known as Greek letter organizations) are pretty much a part of the culture of many 4 year universities and colleges throughout the U.S. and Canada. They are generally not found at 2 year community colleges. Those outside of North America interested might consider purchasing or renting DVDs of National Lampoon's Animal House or Revenge of the Nerds. Both comedies were huge hits. Animal House features hazing which was common when it took place in 1962 but today outlawed in 44 of the 50 States. There's no bondage but a famous scene features the initiation of pledge Chip Diller (played by Kevin Bacon in his first major role) where he's told to "Assume the position!" The paddle comes down hard on the posterior followed by the dialogue "Thank you sir, may I have another?" Whack! "thank you sir, may I have another?", each time his voice rising an octave higher. Both flicks are comedy classics.

I had trouble making a second paragraph so I thought I'd thought I'd start a new thread. Why go the the bother of joining a secret society when some American colleges now have Bondage Clubs. These extracurricular clubs meet in the open so don't expect anything intimate. You'd think these clubs would start at the elite Ivy League schools or mega-universities such as NYU, the University of Miami, UCLA or UC Berkeley, but no, they started about a decade ago in America's Heartland. Look up Kinky U at the University of Minnesota or CUFFS at Iowa State University. Let's hope the idea spreads.
