It was the age of the "Bernese War of Aggression" in the Continent of Elibe, where King Zephiel of Bern invaded the Confederacies of Lycia and Illia and the Dominion of Sacae, we start at a point where after Lycia received aid from the Kingdom of Etruria, the continent-wide war that Bern had started had entered a weird phase, as Bern didn't attack any other countries anymore and the Eturians were already starting to collect the massive debt Lycia owed them. As such, they ordered the Lycian Alliance Army to march to the Western Islands, a colony that Etruria owned, that was plagued by bandits and pirates.

It was the night before the first great battle against one of the larger bandit clans. As always before a major battle, a fifteen year old scout and spy scouted the battlefield until well into the enemy camp near the main castle. That boy was the thief Chad. His short height and youthful features made him look younger then he actually was, and he was clad in a burnt orange cloak, a blue-green jerkin, a pair of black leather gloves, a black belt, grey trousers and a pair of blue ankle boots. After picking the lock of the gate, Chad snuck into the camp.

Once there, Chad looked at the enemy's battle plan, stole their food and relieved the sleeping bandits of their weapons. Everything of use disappeared in a large sack Chad carried over his shoulder. His thievery was cut short however when he felt a strong hand grab him by his neck. "Huh? Who you?", a utterly massive Brigand by the name of Gonzales said as he lifted Chad up by his jerkin. "Lady! Me find strange person!", he said, as his fellow patrol member, a young wandering swordswoman by the name of Fir came near. Sacaen by birth, the young swordswomen was dressed in a traditional grab of a white silk waistcoat, a blue-green tunic, a pair of black leather gauntlets, a brown sash and a pair of dark blue Sacaen-style boots. "Now, who is this fellow?", she asked, curiously. ''L-let go!'', Chad said, as considering the massive height difference between the two, Chad was way up in the air. ''It's Chad! Now let me go!'', he ordered as the thief started to kick with his legs but Gonzales didn't seem to notice.

"You shouldn't shout. I don't think waking up these men after what you did would be a good idea", Fir advised. She was really only with these forces, because she was lost and they provided room and board, but she didn't like most of them besides the leader, Scott. "Lady, should we take strange one to Castle of Boss?", Gonzales asked. The giant wasn't that bad of a person, either, just very unintelligent and easy to manipulate. ''Who are you calling a strange one and nggghhhh! Can you let go, you brute?!?'', Chad grumbled. Gonzales didn't mean it but the way he held Chad hurt really much. While they took him away, Chad gave the two a nasty glare. This whole mess would probably be resolved if Chad just told them they were working with bandits but he thought they knew that fully well and thus didn't say it. It also didn't help that Scott told Fir the Lycians were the bandits.

As the three made it to the castle, Fir caught Chad's glare. "You know I'm saving your life, right?", she said. "If those men woke up there right then, they would have ripped you apart for that you did". ''No, I don't know that'', Chad said. ''For all I know you are taking me here so you friends can beat information out of me'', he added. Gonzales then saw the guard to the castle gates, a Sacaean horse archer named Shin. Like Fir, he too was lost and fell in with a wrong crowd. "Ah. Horseman, me and Lady found this little guy! We bring him here, that good?", Gonzales asked. ''I wouldn't exactly say dragging a child to this place is good but...Scott is the one who decide these things, so take it to him'', he said. Unlike the other two, Shin knew he was working for a complete monster, but he knew he has no other choice in the manner. "Okay then. Come on, little guy!", Gonzales said to Chad, blissfully unaware. As they entered, Fir, who was having a strange thought about what Chad said decided to do something. "Actually, Gonzales, can we take him straight to the dungeon? I want to ask him something", she said.

''Okay, little one straight to dungeon'' Gonzales complied. ''Grrr, the army is ready, don't think you people will get away with this!'', Chad growled as he was taken away. "That's what I wanted to ask you. You don't look like a local here, and obviously you are a Thief. Who really are you?", Fir said, as Gonzales cheerfully starting manacling Chad's hands and feet to the wall of the insides of a cell. ''I'm Chad from the Lycia League and I'm currently a member of Lord Roy's army'', Chad said. ''We were send to wipe out your bandits friends'', he elaborated. "Huh? What a Lycia?", Gonzales asked. "Wait...Bandits?", Fir said in confusion. "You can't be referring to Lord Scott, can you?".

''You know, I don't really like insulting people because they aren't smart but have you two even looked around this place?!?'', Chad asked angrily. ''I've only seen this castle and a camp and I can already tell these people are scum!'', he further said. "Me try not to judge people on looks", Gonzales said, in reference to his own thuggish appearance. "So, this Lord Roy then, is he supposed to be better?", Fir asked. If she had one flaw, Fir was very, very naive. ''Most people won't answer that question honestly. you know''. Chad said. ''But, yes. As far as I can tell Roy is an honest man'', he told Fir. Meanwhile, Scott had an uneasy feeling and was making his way to the dungeon with some goons. "Ah. Hey, boss! We found little guy trying to steal things at camp! So, he here. He part of some thing called a Lycia. Don't know what that means. Sounds like some thing you eat!", Gonzales explained in his usual eloquent manner to Scott. Fir was a bit quiet. She was wondering about what Chad said.

Scott wasn't happy about this. The two people with morals were talking with some brat that was send to destroy them. The thought of Chad having told them the truth enraged Scott. He still need Fir for her Sacaen blade known as a "Wo Dao", however so he sugarcoated his anger for now. ''Ah, yes. I heard some bandits had fled from Lycia to our islands'', Scott slyly said, ''Those monsters! They even force young adults to fight for them! I'm sure they threatened him'', he continued to lie. ''Listen creep, I'm NOT a bandit and I'm not being forced to do anything!'', as Chad turned to Fir. ''Listen lady, you are making a big mistammphh!'', as one of Scott's guards quickly covered Chad's mouth to shut him up. ''Fir, can I ask of you to destroy those Lycian bandits?'', Scott asked. ''For the boy's sake?''. The grin of his guards made it clear Chad's fate would be bad if she refused. As naive as Fir could be, Lycia wasn't really that close to the Western Isles, so the claim of them being bandits was dubious. On the other hand, she did want to see them to discover the truth. "Okay, I'll go find them", Fir said. "Gonzales, you stay and guard the prisoner", she added. "Okay, Lady", Gonzales said.

''I'll have some of my men help you out Gonzales, my friend!'' Scott said friendly. ''It would be such a shame if something happened to the kid!'', he added, but needless to say that wasn't the reason at all. To prevent Chad from giving Gonzales any funny information, the guards tied a large cloth over his mouth. ''Mmphhhhhhh!'', Chad groaned and glared at his captors. "Er...Okay? Little guy seems secure enough. Me hope he don't choke on cloth, though", Gonzales said, with a concerned tone. Meanwhile, Fir has set out from the castle in pursuit if the Lycian Alliance Army. She needed to know the truth as quickly as possible. It wasn't too long before them and the bandit horde were in combat. Arriving at a secluded edge of the battle, Fir saw a young lady mage, another male mage and a knight in blue on a horse arrive near her. Were they members? The bandits were forced to retreat on all fronts. The Lycian Alliance Army was just too strong and the locals were all too happy to provide any information that would be useful against their oppressors. ''You there! Miss!'', Liliana said. ''You don't seem like a bandit but you are armed, so please drop your weapon and tell us which side you are on'', she asked.

"Sorry, this Wo Dao stays in my hand. But, I am a traveler who has been hired on by Scott, local Lord of this region. Are you three among the Lycian Alliance Army?", Fir asked. ''Mphhhhh! nghhhh!'', as Chad used all his skills as a thief to escape this but to no avail. "That brutish one that keeps calling me 'little guy' seems to be being tricked by the bandits, if only he could be told! Why did these jerks have to gag me!'', Chad thought. ''Yes, I'm Liliana of Ostia'', she said. ''We were send here to help the people who are being terrorized by bandits'', she added as the green-haired mage rushed past the other two toward Fir. Gonzales observed Chad's struggling. "Uh. Is he okay? He seems to be moving around all weird and making funny noises", he asked his two fellow guards. "Bandits?", Fir choked out. It was like an echo came back right then. The mage then spoke. "Miss! Have you seen a young guy about my height, with messy, brown hair and a cloak who calls himself Chad?", Lugh asked in a panic. "He went missing last night, and we can't find him anywhere! Do you know where he is?", he asked.

''He's just an odd one, nothing to worry about'' The guard said. 'ngghhhh!'' Chad growled. ''Yes, we have send him to scout the terrain but he hasn't gone back'' Liliana said. ''Which means your those bandits are probably involved Fin'' Noah said.
Gonzales accepted it, but he was still worried that Chad wasn't okay. Most people didn't make such odd nosies if they weren't, he reasoned. A knot grew in Fir's stomach. There was no way these people could be bandits, especially the green-haired one. "By Father Sky and Mother Earth, I've made a terrible mistake", Fir lamented. "He's in the castle. If you can believe me, I will escort you there".

''MMPHHHHHHH!'', Chad screamed, urging Gonzales to make up his own mind. Unfortunately for him. Gonzales trusted these people way too much which they exploited for all it was worth. ''Thank you, miss'', Liliana said. ''May we have your name? I'm sorry if I presume to much but you look Saceanen'', she added. Noah cast a worried glance toward Lugh. He was already extremely worried when Chad was missing but knowing his location was in the bandits fortress may just have stressed him out even more. "Hold on, I'm going to shut that brat up", one brigand said, finally annoyed with Chad's struggle. As he opened the door and came in with his axe held in hand, Gonzales saw the obvious intent. He then punched the guard in the back of the head and then smashed the other's into a wall. "No need to hurt the little guy", Gonzales said. "My apologies. I am Fir of the Djute, daughter of the 'Sword Princess', Karla", Fir introduced herself. "Please there are two other among their forces, a fellow Sacaean and horse archer named Shin and a 7-foot tall brute called Gonzales. They aren't such bad people", she added. "Now we must hurry!". Chad's eyes had gone wide open from shock when he saw the axe and while he was glad Gonzales stopped them, he had to blink a few times to realize it actually happened.

The four marched to the castle. ''Joining the enemy, huh Fir?'', Shin watched them from a hill. ''Good for you, you are too good for this place,....still'', as he pulled four arrows from his back and strung all four of them to his bow. ''This does mean we are on opposite sides now'' He shot the arrows aiming at the heads of the four. "Me not sure what to do now", Gonzales said. "This not last group me be part of. Still, me think I wait for Lady to see what she thinks", he said to Chad. "She smart". Noah spied the arrows coming. "Look out!", he shouted as Lillina quickly destroyed them with a fireball. "Uh...that's probably Shin", Fir said, sheepishly. "Hang back", she said as Fir began to charge at Shin. Chad couldn't help but get extremely annoyed at the giant now. Yes, he was thankful he saved him but he had enough reasons to free him already! ''Hey looking good there, Fir'', Shin said impressed by her speed. He made his horse circle around her while aiming for her legs. Suddenly, another brigand came in to investigate the sounds. "Gonzales, you bastard traitor!", he shouted as he went off to get some backup after seeing the out cold ones laying on the floor. "Uh-oh. Me in trouble. Well, guess time with Scott is up", Gonzales said. He then used his axe to snap the chain holding Chad's hands up, snapped the chain around Chad's feet with his bare hands then crushed the manacles with his grip, and then put him on his shoulders. "Guess me go find Lady now", he said.

As Shin circled Fir, Noah charged and knocked Shin off his horse with the blunt end of his lance. Fir then pounced. "Hey Shin, what are you doing?!? Why die for these people! Don't you still need to find your Chieftain's daughter?", she chided him. Chad pulled the gag from his mouth. ''Thank you for getting me out", he thanked Gonzales. "Finally'', he silently added. ''But you really don't have to carry me, I'm not a child'', he said. ''I could ask you the same'', Shin asked deflecting the question. ''Won't that boy lose his head if you don't fight for Scott?'', he asked. ''WHAT!'', Lugh yelled horrified. "But you no have weapon. Me do. Plus, me tough. It be safer for you until we out", Gonzales said. "No, Gonzales is with him, Shin", Fir said. "You know him, he wouldn't. Besides, we are almost at the gates. we can get him before Scott does if you just let us pass", she reasoned.

''Well...All right then'', Chad said, as Gonzales did have a point. ''I might but if you guys win, I could get executed you know, and so can you Fir'', Shin said. ''I promise we won't'', Liliana said. ''I'll talk to Roy and tell us you two helped us out'', she added. Thankfully, the castle defenders were mostly inside, so the paltry resistance Gonzales and Chad saw didn't offer much. "Huh. Gate is open. That good", Gonzales said as both exited the castle as quickly as Gonzales could run. "Hmm. Wonder where Horseman is?", he asked out loud. "I'm prepared to face the consequences no matter what happens, Shin", Fir said. ''Hey, what's that I see?'', Chad asked as he could see people with oddly-colored hair in the distance. ''Green hair? That HAS to be Lugh! Then that blue haired girl is Lady Liliana and...I think that other lady is with them'', he said. ''Well, I'm not'', Shin said. 'Like you said, I still have a job to do''. "Oh? Okay. Me run real fast then", Gonzales said. As Fir was about to say something, Noah pointed in the distance. "Woah, who is that guy? He looks like he's coming right at us", he noted. ''B-bandit!'', Lugh yelled and took out his fire tome. ''Wait! Lugh!'', Liliana quickly stopped him. ''I know he looks rough, but I think he wants to help'', she told him. "HEY! Lady! Horseman! Why you two fight?", Gonzales asked. "Is that....Chad?!?", Lugh asked as he noticed him holding onto the brigand. "I think it is", Noah said. Chad jumped off Gonzales' shoulder. ''Yeah, it's me Lugh so you can stop looking so worried now'', as he patted his adopted younger brother on the shoulder. ''Because we are on different sides, why else?'', Shin asked. ''But we are about to reach an understanding...right Fir?'', he said. "Chad! I was so worried!", Lugh said, gratefully. "It looks to be so, Shin", Fir said. "Say Gonzales, what happened?", she asked. "Er...Me got in fight with others. Me don't think me welcome anymore. So, I took little guy with me", he explained.

''I was just as worried about you, as I knew you'd feel terrible about it'', as Chad turned to Fir. ''So I see you ditched those guys, that's good'', he said. "So, are we all in an agreement then", Fir asked. "If you with these people, they must be nice. I go", Gonzales said to them. "Very well", Shin replied. ''Well...you don't seem like bad people so I'll talk to Roy on your behalf'', Chad said. "Now, onto Scott", Fir said. ''Yeah! I can't wait to get my hands on that guy!'', Chad said. ''....But I don't have any weapons. Great", he said although admitting he lost his daggers was to be a bit awkward for the young thief, he also was slightly intimidated by Merlinus so asking him was a big no. The group waited a bit until the main forced led by Marquiss Roy arrived. "There it is, Master Roy", Marcus said. "What's left of these brigands are inside that castle", he told him. "I see....Hang on, is that Lillina down there?", Roy asked.

''Roy! Over here!'', Liliana cheerfully ran toward her childhood friend. "Ah, Lillina. Glad to see you", Roy said. "Oh, it looks like Chad has been found. But, who are the other three?", he asked. ''These are Fir, Gonzales and....uh sorry?'', Chad introduced them. ''It's Shin from the Kutolah Tribe of Sacae'', the nomad introduced himself. ''Yes, what he said. Uh sorry about not reporting in time'', Chad said. ''I ran into some trouble, sir'', he explained. "It's all right. I'm glad you are safe and we have some new people", Roy said. The siege then started not too long after. It didn't last too long after Roy slew Scott, and seized the castle. ''Good moves sir'' Chad said ''Here, I nabbed this from the bastards during your fight'', as he tosses a knight' seal at Roy's quartermaster, Merlinus. ''Oh, and Lady?", as he also took a recently stolen sword from his sack. ''Seems like you could use this'', he said. "What is it?", Fir asked. ''It's a runesword'', Chad said. ''You can use it to attack people from a distance with the dark magic entombed within'', he explained. "Thank you very much, Chad", Fir said as the two began to walk off from the rest of the army inside the castle. "I'm sorry for what happened to you. I was a fool", she said. ''Nah, don't feel bad about it'', Chad said. ''Being caught is a risk thieves should take and, my rudeness didn't exactly help either'', he further said. "Well then, I guess we should become friends then", Fir said. "And get to know eachother a little bit better".

''Yeah that sounds good'', Chad said. ''I guess this makes you the first girl I befriended then'', he said. "Huh, a nice-looking guy never made friends with a girl before?", Fin asked. ''Nice looking?'', as Chad looked around to see if there was someone else in the room. ''Oh, so you DO mean me then...I don't think that I am good-looking'', he said. "Well, combing your hair more then every two years wouldn't hurt", Fir teased. ''Hey, I like this style!'', Chad said. ''Besides, why spend time on your hair when you can use that time to collect food?'', he asked. "A man of simple interests. I like that", Fir said as both found an empty room in the castle. "Hmm, looks like this one wasn't used too much during Scott's reign. Wonder what it was for?", she asked. ''You know I'm not exactly a man right? I'm still 15", Chad said. ''About this room, beats me'', he further said. "I just turned 16 like two weeks ago, so I'm not much of a woman either", Fir said. "Hmm", she said as she checked the room. "It's weird. It looks like a bedroom, yet there's a bunch of rope and cloth around", she reported. ''Maybe the bandits were into weird things'', Chad shrugged. ''My father said people like that existed'', he hastily added. "I don't think so, as this room was mostly locked all the time. Part of the reason why I wanted to come here and check it out", Fir said. ''A more comfortable dungeon then?'', Chad asked. ''Could have kept me here'', he added. "Sorry, I guess those chains weren't probably very comfortable", Fir said. ''No, they were not'', Chad said. ''But I don't blame you, as it would be stupid not to lock up a spy'', he told her. "Well, it's all in the past now, Chad", Fir said. She checked outside. "So, looks like the army is staying the night here", she said. "I guess we got this one early".

''Yeah'', as Chad went to lay on the bed. ''This is a nice room, I guess I'll claim it then!'', he said. There's a second bed over here", Fir pointed out. "You don't have a problem with me here, do you?", she asked. ''Nah, I don't, we are friends right?'' Chad yawned. "Yeah", as Fir also yawned. It was just the start of the night, but the fighting made Fir a bit sleepy. "Why don't we both go to sleep?", she suggested, as she layed on the bed, not even bothering to take off her scabbard. ''Yeah, that sounds quite nice...zzzzz'', Chad pretended to sleep. When he was sure she was asleep, he got up. ''Now let's look in those drawers'', as he walked to were the rope was. Fir was then asleep, but she was a heavy sleeper and she couldn't hear the sounds of drawers opening. But, she was then-kind of mostly-asleep, somewhat-awake mode.

Chad quickly and stealthily tied Fir's hands, ankles, thighs and arms and waited for her to wake up. Fir quickly noticed something was wrong. "Huh? What the?", she began to say. ''I used some of that creep's ropes'', a smiling Chad told her. "Chad, may I ask why you have decided to do this?", Fir asked, still composed. ''Don't get me wrong its not that reason'', Chad quickly made clear. ''I just thought it would be funny", he explained. "I don't think amused is the emotion I feel right now", Fir said. ''Well, it wasn't done to amuse you but me'', Chad said. "How nice of you", Fir said as she tried to edge her way to her sword. Chad noticed but allowed it figuring it would take some time. ''So, can I tie that scarf over your mouth?'', he asked. "You are going to do it anyways, aren't you Chad?", Fir asked. ''Yep, but I thought I'd ask first'', as Chad tied a black cloth over Fir's mouth. "Mmmpgh", Fir groaned. She wasn't sure if this made her dislike Chad...or perhaps more so. Chad looked at Fir's sword to see how far she had gotten. Unfortunately, she wasn't getting very far. Chad looking at it wasn't helping either. ''Um, tickling you now would be a bit too much, right?'', Chad asked. ''We just met and all'', he said. Fir couldn't really respond, but she was wondering if he was going to do it anyways. ''Yeah, I thought so'', as Chad wasn't going to do it without permission. Fir tried to say "Thank you" as best she could through the scarf gagging her.

'''Hahaha, you are welcome, now free yourself so I can hear your opinion about it'', Chad said. It took a while, but finally Fir unsheathed the Wo Dao and cut herself free. "I'm surprised you didn't try and tickle me when I was helpless", Fir said. ''Like I said it's a bit too soon for me'', Chad said. "So, you aren't completly mischievous then", Fir said with a smile. ''Hahaha, I didn't know I was mischievous in the first place!'', Chad laughed. "You don't call faking a nap just so you could tie me up mischievous?", Fir asked. ''Well....maybe'', Chad said. ''Curious is more like it!'', he reasoned. "Hmm, maybe I should keep you around, if you want to keep doing that, as a test of my wits", Fir said. ''Oh, so you are okay with that?'', Chad asked. ''Well its been a while since I had someone I tied up often'', he said. "Let me guess: That green-haired mage?", Fir asked. ''You mean Lugh? Well sometimes for fun but not often, he's too nice'', Chad said. ''His twin brother, Ray, on the other hand has quite a mouth on him so I sometimes had to...put him into his place'', he explained. "Hmm, I see", Fir said. ''Quite fun actually'', Chad smiled. ''It forced him to be a bit nicer that way'', he said. "So, it seems you like to tie people up then", Fir teased. ''N-no that's not true'', as a faint blush appeared on Chad's cheeks. ''That guy just deserved it...and so do you if you keep saying that!'', he said angrily. "Ah, for a second there, I was wondering if I wasn't someone special to earn the treatment", Fir continued to poke fun at Chad.

''Grrrr stop making fun of me!'', Chad yelled. ''Or else.....'', but considering he was younger, smaller and weaker then Fir, he didn't quite know how to enforce that threat. "Or else...what?", Fir said with a smile as she rested her hand on the hilt of her Wo Dao. She really wouldn't use it, but did Chad know that? ''Grrr n-never mind'', as despite his usually serious attitude, Chad was now childishly pouting. "Aww, don't be so mad", Fir said. "You tied me up in my sleep, and yet, I'm still your friend", she said. ''I guess you have a point'', Chad said. ''You are free to do it to me too, if you can'', he further said. "Oh. Okay", Fir said as she quick-drawed her Wo Dao and pointed it at Chad. "Is that enough?", she asked. ''Uh, y-yeah but also unfair!'', Chad complained with wide eyes. "Oh, and ambushing, a poor, defenseless, sweet, innocent girl in her sleep is fair?", Fir cheekily said. She liked teasing poor Chad. ''I wouldn't call you....owwwgh! Have it your way!'', as Chad gave up and surrendered. "Good boy", Fir said as she grabbed his arms and escorted him to his bed. "Now, how would my little thief like to be tied?", she asked. ''I really don't care'', Chad said. ''Just tie me up however you want'', he further said. "As you wish", Fir said as she then roped Chad into a hogtie, and grabbed another scarf and tied it over his mouth. ''Nghmmmh!'', he groaned. It was hard to say what Chad was thinking. On one hand he glared at Fir but then again the glare seemed a natural part of his face. "Oh, okay, okay", Fir said as she put a pillow under his head, and grabbed a blanket for him. "There, at least you can be a little comfortable", he said. ''Grrrmhphhhh!'', Chad growled and his glare grew fiercer. "Well, make up your mind!", Fir said. Now it felt like Chad who was the one teasing her. ''Mmphh hhhph nghhph!'', Chad muffledly explained that covering him with a blanked made look like a little kid."Well, I am going to bed. If you can't free yourself by the time I wake up, I'll untie you. If you can, then we are even. Deal?", Fir offered. ''Mpppphhhhh!'', Chad yelled after her.

"Chad?", Lugh asked out loud, some time later. "Where did he get to?", he wondered to himself. After a while, Chad still hadn't freed himself. "Chad? Where did he get to?", as then Chad froze when he heard that! This was not happening. Fir stirred a bit in her sleep. However, while her sword rested next to her, she kinda...forgot to lock the door. "Hmm, this room seems alone", Lugh said, getting close. The first thing Chad saw when the door opened was a bush of green hair, this was gonna be so embarrassing! ''Mmphhhhh!'', Chad made some desperate whines when Lugh entered. Lugh saw the sleeping Fir on the far bed, but noticed a blanket covering a wriggling mass and some brown hair poking out. Chad was trying to hide himself under the blanket. "What the...", Lugh said to himself. ''Don't come closer! don't come closer! don't come closer!'' Chad thought to himself in a mantra.

Lugh pulled off the blanket and saw poor Chad hogtied and gagged. "Chad! Are you all right? Did she do this to you?", Lugh asked. On the other bed, Fir was starting to stir. ''Mmphhhhh nhpp MMPHHHH!'', the embarrassed Chad fiercely nodded. Lugh quickly used his pocket knife he kept to untie Chad. "Keep it down, Chad. I'm trying to sleep", Fir said all sleepily. ''Will do Fir!'', Chad said cheerfully. ''Thanks Lugh. I....Uh, t-this was...please forget it!'', he tried to explain. "All right, what's going on?", Lugh said. "Did you and her get into some mischief?", he asked. "Thanks, Chad", Fir said as she began to doze off. Wait a second. Wasn't Chad gagged, she though in her sleep limbo. ''Firstly, don't put it like that, it seems wrong'', Chad said. ''I merely thought it was funny to do what I sometimes did to you and Ray and when I was done she pointed her sword at me and then tied me up'', he explained. "Yeah, imagine that happening to someone who doesn't know you all that well", Lugh said sarcastically. ''Did you suddenly turn into your brother?'', Chad said playfully. ''Because sarcasm isn't your thing Lugh'', he then said. "Well, here I am, worried about where you went and then you and your mischief gets you into trouble *again* and I'm worried over nothing!", Lugh replied. Fir began to wake up and walk to both. "Did I...forget....to lock the door?", she slurred out of sleepiness. ''Hey, I'm not the one that always gets into trouble! I'm the one who looks after you so you don't!'', Chad protested. ''Huh...Oh, you are awake Fir! Alright Lugh! Will you help me deal with her?'', he asked. "Yes, I think I can help", Lugh said as he pulled out a sleep staff and aimed it at both, putting them to sleep. ''Huh? L-Lugh what are you do..zzzz'', as Chad started to doze off. ''W-what...you are too nice to...huh?'', and the last feeling the thief remembered when blacking out was utter confusion. Lugh dragged both into one bed, and put them face-to-face. He then tied eachother's hands behind the other's back, and took two coils of rope and tied it around both of their stomachs and thighs to make them close. He then took more rope and tied their feet together, and gagged both with scarves. "There, I'll let you and your new girlfriend bond together now", he said as he closed the door and left in a huff. Normally, he was quite sweet, but Chad's mischief made him worry so much he wanted to teach him a lesson.

'MMMPHHHHHH!'', as Chad eventually woke up and began to protest. "What the hell happened to my friend!", Chad thought angrily. "The boy that wouldn't even hurt a fly did this to his best friend! That's it, army life is corrupting him!" as Chad's screaming eventually woke up Fir. Fir quickly came to and was startled at the sight of Chad's gagged face right in her own and blushed in shock, as she had never been this close to a boy before. Seeing this Chad started blushing as well ''Nomph mfhy mmaumpht!'', he tried to say. "Hmmph?", Fir asked. She tried struggling, but that just made her rub up against Chad, and it made things worse. ''Nnhhmm hhhhmph!'', Chad asked if she could please stop that. With both in that state and with struggling being very awkward, it seemed they would stay that way until someone freed them. "Mhmmmph! Swwwmph!", Fir tried to say that they could try wiggling off the bed and to Fir's sword. She hoped Chad would understand. He did, as he bean wriggling to the other side of the room..slowly. Since at least both were on their sides, mutual scooting off the bed was possible, albeit very slow. They gently made sure to fall off the bed at once. "Mmmpgh kkkampg?", Fir asked Chad if he was okay so far. ''Nhmphh!'', Chad nodded and pointed with his head toward Fir's sword meaning he wanted to start crawling again. Slowly, both wriggled to Fir's sword. Thankfully, it was partially drawn. Fir positioned herself and began to rub her bonds against the blade. Chad did the same and within moments he had freed himself of his bonds. ''That was unexpected',' he said as he pulled off his gag. "It certainly wasn't something I expected to happen", Fir said as she pulled her's off. "Are you all right, Chad?", she asked. ''Yeah just...how dare he do that to me!'', Chad yelled. "Well, it's late and I'm tired", Fir said. "We know where he sleeps, so we can deal with him later, so let's just get back to bed", she further said. ''Yeah, I'll promise no tricks'', Chad said honestly and went to lay in his bed again. Fir took off her boots, gloves and waist coast and slipped into bed. "Good night, Chad", she said. 'Night Fir...zzzzzz'',as this time Chad fell to sleep for real.

The next day, Fir woke up and started to put her gear back on as Chad was still asleep. 'Zzzzzzzz....zzzzzzzz....hhhmzzzzzz'', Chad looked quite peaceful if you ignored the snoring. "Hmm, he looks much nicer when he's smiling. Too bad it's when he's asleep", Fir thought to herself as she let Chad go on sleeping, while she got ready for the day. After a while, Chad woke up too. "Welcome back to the land of the living, sleepyhead", Fir said. Chad made out a long yawn ''Thanks. Well, now that I'm awake I ca.......'', as his stomach made a loud noise. "Hah, go get ready for the day before you even think about revenge, Chad", Fir said to him. ''Yeah, let's go eat first'', Chad said making his way to the kitchen. "I'll catch up with you", Fir said, as she on the other hand, got a new, but identical set of clothes, and headed to the washing area. At the kitchen, Chad happily stuffed himself until he was full and went looking for Fir. Fir eventually washed up and went back to the room to wait for Chad after meeting with Dieck to hear what Roy was planning on his campaign in the Western Isles. "So what did Dieck tell you?'', Chad asked when he walked in. "Apparently, Lord Roy's next move is to past the Castle near Mt. Ebkrakhm, only problem is the supply convoy is in disarray. Merlinus is on that, but we aren't moving until it's fixed", Fir said. ''Okay then, so it will take some time until the next battle'', Chad said. "At least half a day", Fir replied. "Dieck told me to keep sharp, but we have a little bit of relax time", she added. That's nice, it's been a while since that Merlinus guy gave me a day off'', Chad said. "All of us", Fir corrected. "That said, we should enjoy the time. Some sword training, us walking around the castle to scope out the defenses in case of an surprise attack, things like that".

''.....Pardon me but you said enjoyment right?'', Chad raised his eyebrows. "Yes. Why?, Fir asked. ''Those things...aren't really enjoyable'', Chad answered. "Hmm, I can only guess what your opinions on enjoyable activities are", Fir started to tease Chad again. ''C-could you stop making jokes about it already!'', Chad blushed. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry", Fir said. "I just know you are going to try doing it again today, though", she added. ''Hehe, I might'', Chad laughed. "I guess you just can't get enough of me", Fir teased him again. ''Okay, you REALLY need to stop doing that lady!'', Chad said angrily. "Ah, okay. Sorry. It's just I often don't get to be so relaxed at around other people my age. Most of the time, it's traveling in between arenas to fighting there so I can become a better swordswoman. And good luck talking to those guys", Fir said. ''Just beat them senseless and force them to talk'', Chad said ''But gee, you where complimenting me right?", he asked. "No, I meant, the Arena owners and some of the fighters are older, and some are kinda ugly, and they have these weird odors...But uh, yeah, I guess I am complimenting you there", Fir said. Was she being counter-teased?

''But...since we are friends i could delve into your hobby a little'', Chad said. "My hobby?", Fir asked. "I'm only going to let you do this to get it out of your system for the day!", as she then just realized what she said. Now, she could see why Chad was annoyed by it, teasing *is* grating on the nerves. ''I meant swordplay actually'', Chad said. ''But tying you up is fine too'', he said with a cheeky smile. "Why is it that you are so good at tricking me, Chad?", Fir asked. ''I wasn't..I'm not...I'm not a trickster!'', Chad protested, he really hadn't meant it this way. "All right, all right. Since we don't know we we have to move out, might as well do it first, then our duties. Agreed?", Fir asked. ''Yeah agreed, so who will go first?'', Chad asked. "Well, to make up for making you mad, I guess I will", Fir said. "But, remember, I get my own", she added. ''Yeah, yeah you will'', Chad said.

All right, Mr. Captor", Fir said. "What will you do to your defenseless, cute prisoner?", she added with a slight smile. Chad sighed and rolled his eyes, why did she have to act like this? ''You see that bedpost over there right? I'll tie your arms to it'', he said. "All right then, I suppose I'll lay down then", Fir said as she did so. Chad raised Fir's arm up and held them to the bedpost, wrapping some rope around it. "Hmm, you are pretty good at this, Chad", Fir said. "It's hard to move them now". ''Yeah that was what i was aiming for'' Chad said while working to tie Fir's feet together. ''Say, would you mind a gag?'', he asked. "After all the grief I've been putting you through, I think you'd probably want to", Fir said. ''Believe me that's true!'', Chad laughed as he gagged her. "Hmmph", Fir said, turning her nose up, poutingly. ''What? you do have a bit of a mouth after all'', Chad smiled and started to tickle her sides.

Fir would have replied Chad had one as well, if it wasn't for the cloth tightly tied over her's, and the sudden, involuntary laughter that came from the sudden tickle of her ribs. Chad kept tickling at the same speed for now, preferring to go faster when Fir least expected it. Fir giggled into the gag as Chad continued to tickle her. This was the first time she's ever been tickled by someone, least of all a boy. Come to think of it, Chad was also the first person ever to tie her up and gag her, too. Seeing Fir lost in thought for a moment Chad suddenly tickled a lot faster. "MMMMMMGPH! NNNMPGH! MMMMGPHM!", Fir laughed and giggled and wriggled and writhed into her bonds. Chad started smiling, seeing other people like that was kinda funny. Fir wondered what her parents would think of her right now as she continued to helplessly laugh as Chad's prisoner.

Chad ungagged her. ''So, what do you think lady?'', he asked. Fir took in a breath to calm herself down. "You know how to treat a girl, Chad", she slyfully said. She figured she might as well take time for one last tease as she had no clue when she would be released. ''Okay you can stop talking now'', as an annoyed Chad regagged her. Fir figured that would probably happen. Still, she wished Chad wasn't such a stick in the mud, as she prepared herself for another tickle assault. Chad tickled her again for a while before stopping. Thankfully, Round 2 wasn't as long as the first, and then Fir looked up quizzically at Chad as if to say what next. Chad took some time to think, doing thinks to a girl was much harder then to guys. As Chad pondered, Fir took some time to catch her breath from the tickling. With no other idea coming to mind, Chad carefully began to tickle her bare thighs. Fir was very ticklish there and she began to struggle and groan anew.

''I'll give you a chance to use that mouth again'', Chad smirked as he ungagged Fir, but he still kept tickling though. Ungagged, Fir kept trying to say "Put my" and "down", but sudden gasps of laughter made it impossible to guess what she was trying to ask. She hoped no one was around and could hear this. 'Huh? Put you what down?'', Chad asked. ''I guess it doesn't really matter as your in no state to make commands!'', he added. "My t-t-t-t-t-t-t-u-u, oh forget it!", Fir tried to say as she succumbed to the tickling once more. ''I think you got enough'' Chad said after a while ''Do you agree lady?'', he asked. "I think so!", Fir managed to say fully. ''Okay then'', as Chad took his knife and cut her loose. Now free, Fir took some time to stretch out her limbs and pull down her Sacaen-style tunic down. "Now then, I believed you offered a turn to me?", she said to Chad. ''Did I? I don't remember'', Chad lied. ''See you around Fir'', as he quickly tried to leave. "You have to do it the hard way don't you?", Fir asked as she pounced onto Chad and began to wrestle his hands together. ''H-hey what are you doing Fir?!?'', Chad yelled as she easily overpowered him. It wasn't long before Fir had completely subdued the young thief. "So Chad, the way I see it, you have two options. The first is to submit willingly, in which I get to tie and tease you with what you want in mind, and the second is where you don't, and that's where I don't heed what you want. Which one sounds good?", she asked. Chad hadn't even listened. ''L-listen lady, you should really get off me!'', he struggled fiercely to shake Fir off. Fir sighed. "Why do you have to be so difficult, Chad?", she asked, as she used her free hand to grab some rope and started binding his hands and ankles together.

Chad's struggles proved completely meaningless as Fir tied him up. ''Tied by a girl...Damm it!'', he growled a bit embarrassed. "Well Chad, if it means anything to you, there's been times where a Brigand or two has accosted me on my travels and the end result was them tied to trees and waiting for the authorities", Fir said as she lifted Chad up with surprising strength and placed him onto her bed. ''Well...it really doesn't'' Chad said. "Oh well. That said, I think you have a problem, Chad. You are too tightly wound up. You need to learn how to loosen up, you know laugh once in a while, Fir said as she began to tickle his armpits. "I had to learn that too, and I made a friend out of the deal", she added. ''Nononoaaaahahahahahaha!'', Chad started laughing ''I already hahaha l-laugh enouuuuugh!'', he tried to say. "Then why is it you always seem so flustered when talking to me?", Fir asked as she began to tickle his ribs. ''Hahahaha o-only if you tease me about this!'', Chad laughed, as he was fine with her otherwise. "Well, when I tease you, it's my way of being a friend. Otherwise, I have to be pretty reserved otherwise, as part of my profession", Fir said as one hand stayed on Chad's ribs, while another went into his shirt to tickle his stomach. ''Haaahahahahaaha o-okay I get it!'', Chad screamed. ''N-now can you pleas-hahahaha oh, noooooo!'', he tried to ask.

"Sure, I can tickle you some more", Fir said. She then kept one hand on his stomach, the the other started at the back of his knee and lower thigh. ''Y-you know that wasn't what I asked!'', Chad yelled. "I know, but you still might want to keep your voice down as you never know who's next to the door", Fir said as she continued to tickle him. ''Haahahahahaha h-how can you ask me that!'', Chad screamed with slight tears in his eyes. ''That's not possible like this!'', he added. "Well, my apologies, but I will have to gag you then", Fir said as she then tied a cloth in between his teeth. ''Nggmmmm!',' Chad growled and hardened his ever-present glare. "Oh, don't give me that look. I asked nicely, you couldn't do it, what else could I do?", Fir asked as she went back to tickling him. ''Hhhmmmphhh!'', Chad yelled before bursting in muffled laughter again. "Ah, much better. You even look happier", Fir said. As she then briefly tickled his chest before going to his back. ''Ngggghh MMPHHHHHH!'', Chad protested. He even tried to maintain his glare for more effect...which didn't exactly work. Fir continued to tickle him. "Hmm, what else should I do to you?", she wandered out loud. ''Mmphhhhh ngh mgnoh!'', Chad mumbled something like ''How about letting me go'?'. "Give you a pink belly? No, that seems a bit rude", Fir said. ''Nghhhhhh'', Chad simply growled at his captor. "Okay, one last thing and I'll set you free. Are you ready?", Fir asked. ''Mmmph'', Chad grumpily nodded.

Fir gently lifted Chad to a seated position. She then softly ran her hand through his hair...and then suddenly started to give him a noogie. ''Mmmphh?....NGHHHHMPHHHHHHHH!'', Chad yelled once he realized what she was doing. Fir continued for a while, then stopped and then ungagged Chad. "Well, I think you suffered enough", she said. ''Yeah I think so too! My hair must be a mess!'', but to be fair it always was. Fir then began to untie Chad. "So, was it as fun for you as it was for me?", she asked genuinely. ''Yeah, I guess it was'', Chad said. "A bit unorthodox way to make a friendship, but I'm happy it had made one, none the less", Fir said. ''Technically we already made our friendship before this, but you are right, it is a bit of a weird way'', Chad said. "Well, I'm sure we will have many more sessions ahead of us, but alas, duty comes first. Come on, let's pull our weight", Fir said. ''Yes, to battle, right?'', Chad said. "Pretty much. We took too much time having fun, I think", Fir said. Both then walked out and to the main keep.

Soon, the Lycian Alliance Army passed near a castle owned by a Etruian noble named Nord, but something odd was in the air. ''Why is it taking so long!'', Chad complained. Nord had refused to let the army pass trough his domain ''Wasn't this guy one of the people that asked us to come here!'', he asked. "I do not know", Fir said. "Though I have heard of some bandit activity around this area, perhaps that is what is the concern". As Chad, Fir and several other soldiers waited for a sign, Marcus, Roy's deputy, rode in. "All right, it seems we need to send an envoy to the castle. Any volunteers?", he asked. "I will aid in any way I can, sir", Fir said. As a stark contrast to her teasing persona with Chad, here, Fir was all business. ''I wouldn't do that if I were you'', Chad said. ''These Eturian nobles are not to be trusted''. Marcus gave Chad a stern look for that comment, but Fir waved him off. "It's okay, someone needs to do it regardless, and I still feel bad about that whole Scott thing. I'll be okay, Chad", she said.

''Well if you say so'', Chad said not convinced at all. ''....Could you stop looking at me like that sir, you know as well as I do what utter scum the nobles here are. The Eturians didn't even try to convince the Lycians they were good rulers", he added. "Be that as it may, we need to follow protocol", Marcus said. "Okay, Fir. If you volunteer, I'll get you with the messenger and send you to the castle", he added. "I am ready, Sir", Fir said. She gave Chad a farewell look and headed off to help with the envoy. Soon Fir entered Castle Armagh with Roy's letter. It immediately became clear just how arrogant the Eturians were, proudly displaying all the wealth they had stolen from the island. Nord was especially bad, he was only a duke from a backwater province but by the way she slouched on his throne you'd think he was king of the world.

"Hail, Duke Nord of Armagh. I am a representative of Marquis Roy of Pherae, General of the Lycian Alliance Army. We seek your permission to cross your lands in our task of ridding these Islands of the criminal investigation", Fir said. She thought she did that pretty well. ''Permission denied'', Nord said, as he was still waiting for orders to destroy Roy's army. ''You are here because we demand it and so you will do your job with a speed Etruria sees fit'', he added. "But is not the job Etruria has asked of Lycia the same I just described of dealing with the pirate hordes?", Fir asked. ''Yes, but you will do so at the proper time'', Nord answered. ''We can't have troops from some lesser nation just march around our lands like it's nothing''. A new messenger entered the castle, one who carried permission for Nord to engage Roy's army. Fir chuckled inside at that barb, as he seemed too dim to even notice she was from Sacae. "All right, is there any other info I should tell General Roy before I leave to go do so?", Fir asked.

''Yes tell him to...move it girl!'', Nord yelled as the other messenger entered the throne room. ''Lord Nord! Lord Alcard has given you his blessing'', the soldier spoke, ''You are free to wipe out the Lycian Alliance Army!'', he added. ''Hehehehe! Excellent!'', Nord laughed. Fir's eyes opened up at that. What was going on? As her hand moved to her sword, a dozen soldiers pointed their lances at her throat at once. After taking away her sword, two soldiers took hold of Fir's arms and forced her on her knees. Nord grabbed Fir's's chin and forced her to look him in the eyes so he could examine her face ''This one is quite the beauty, she'll make a fine....gift for Lord Alcard''. Fir made a groan of disgust at that. Like the Four Winds she let some sleazy crook make a wife our of her. ''Lock this wench in the dungeon'', Nord ordered. ''We'll ship her off to Lord Alcard once we are done with the Lycian Alliance Army'', as the soldiers took Fir away.

Chad sighed, there where no signs of things speeding up at all. Once in the dungeons, Fir was put into a cell and her hands were placed into two manacles attached to a chain in the wall, and lifted above her head. Then, her feet were put into two similar manacles below, and a soldier gagged her with a cloth. She also noticed a red-haired girl dressed in the garb of a dancer, bound hand and foot with rope and also gagged with a cloth lying on the floor on the opposite side of the cell. As Thany, one of the Pegasus Knights, was scouting in the air, a large force coming out of the castle, she reported what she saw to Roy. With this, and Fir's absence, the intent was obvious. "Everybody, arm themselves, and mobilize!", he commanded. The girl was struggling and mmppph'ing like crazy, as her friends were in danger, so she had too. ''I knew it!'', as Chad took out his daggers. ''I knew these nobles were rotten to the core!''.

As the soldiers taunted Fir, and left the two in distress, Fir quickly surmised the strength of the bonds. The chains were well-made, and difficult to try and pull free from the wall. As much as she hated to admit, she was stuck until the main force took the castle. With that in mind, she turned her attention to the other prisoner. ""Wmmmpgh ammmpgh yppppmh?", she tried to ask. The Armies met soon. It was a fierce battle, but interestingly enough, a third part made of a band of pirates with a grudge against Nord led by a man named Geese got involved and soon joined forces with Roy after a quick talk. ''Mmppp?'', as Lalum was so busy she just noticed Fir. ''Mmphhhh nhhphh mhhhhh mphhhhh!'', as the girl mmmmphph'ed helplessly. Lalum was a member of the resistance army but had walked into a trap and gotten captured. Chad wasn't exactly sure what to do, aside from sticking his dagger into the soldiers that charged at him. He wanted to save Fir if she was still alive but he wasn't a fighter and with the scouting not needed in this fight there wasn't much he could do alone. The girl talked a bit too quickly for Fir to understand. Well, she'd ask again after they got free. As Chad set out among a small band, he ran into an Armored Lanceman, but as he thrust his lance at Chad, a large axe chopped the lance head off, and pushed him away after hacking his neck. "Hey. Little Guy. Me here bad news about Lady. You want help from me?", Gonzales asked.

''Yeah that would be appreciated'', Chad said. ''Thanks, Gonzales''. "Sure, little guy. Let's go", Gonzales replied. The battle went on, and soon the people who approached the castle gates first were Roy, Chad, Gonzales, Geese and Thany. "All right, Geese. You want revenge on Nord, you can have him. Gonzales, you aid Geese if need be. Thany, you keep an eye in the sky, Chad, assist me in raiding the dungeons", Roy ordered. ''Yes sir!'', Chad said and followed Roy. ''So...you made it here? Die!'', Nord unleashed the powerful Nosferatu spell once Geese and Gonzales charged the throne room. "Nord! I'll have your head for what you did to my crewmates!", Geese yelled while Gonzales just avoided the spell and both charged at Nord, axes raised. Thany collaborated with the other forces, and soon Nord's troops were routed. As for Roy and Chad, surprisingly enough, the dungeons were mostly empty. But, muffled shouts soon were heard.

''Ha! I only did my duty to clear the land from bandits!'', Nord yelled, conveniently forgetting he only enslaved then because they didn't want to work with him. The two axemen wounded Nord but he casted Nosferatu on his own soldiers to heal himself. ''Yeah that's definitely Fir!'', Chad said. ''Allow me, my lord!'', as he quickly started picking the lock. "Scum to the very end!", Geese said as he saw Nord's cowardly act. Gonzales then threw a hand axe at Nord and clipped his leg. Both Fir and Lalum began to shout as they saw the two come close. ''Grrr! Damn, I won't go like this!'', as Nord tried to drain Geese of his life force to fix his leg. ''Mmphhhhhhhh!'', as Lalum's eyes went wide from joy when she saw Roy, as she could tell he was a prince! ''Here let me get that'', Chad instantly picked the locks on Fir's chains. ''I told you that guy was up to no good''.

Geese dodged just at the last possible second, and planted one of his hatchets right into Nord's neck. As Fir ungagged herself, she then gave a small hug to Chad in gratitude. "Well, yes you were right, but someone still had to go anyways. Glad to see you, though, Chad", Fir said. Roy knelt down and untied Lalum. "Are you all right, miss?", he asked, thinking she was a civilian. This was enough to kill Nord...really messily. ''W-wow you are Roy right? The one here to rid the bandits?'', Lalum asked and when Roy confirmed it, Lalum let out a fangirlish squeak and hugged him, but then turned serious again. ''Please! You have to save my friends!'', she asked, ''H-hey, get off of him!'', an angry Merlinus tried to pull her away. ''Well, don't feel bad about it'', Chad said. ''If you hadn't gone this would have happened to someone else'', he consoled Fir. "Ooh. He not getting up", Gonzales said as Geese said a farewell to his friends Nord had worked to death. "Yeah, at least you were the one to come. I guess the battle is over then if you are here, though", Fir said. Roy blushed profusely at Lalum's antics. "Er....yes. Um, about your friends. Who are they?", he asked, trying to compose himself.

''Not really'',. Chad said ''Etruria will be pretty mad we killed their local duke so the fight is just starting''. ''Yes, my friends are in the rebel army against Eturia! But a villager gave away our location so we have to save them quickly!'', Lalum said. Hearing that, Fir knelt before Roy to deliver a message. "Lord Roy, before I was taken prisoner, apparently Nord was given orders by a Lord Alcard to ambush us here", she told him. "Hmm, it seems there is a conspiracy here", Roy said. "We need some time to restore up, but I assume you will give us all the info we need about this new crisis, yes, Miss Lalum?", he asked. ''So does thing mean you'll help?'', Lalum asked. ''Thanks, Master Roy!'', as she hugged him again. ''Hey I said get off him!'', Merlinus whined. Roy nervously stammered at Lalum. "N-n-n-n-no problem", he managed to blurt out. "I think we should leave these two lovebirds alone", Fir very quietly whispered to Chad. ''See you later sir'', Chad said. ''Okay Roy! Let's go prepare!'', as Lalum pushily took Roy's arm.

Somewhere in the north, a young man that was clearly a noble had been taken captive and was taken away by a bunch of corrupt soldiers. The young noble, his hands tied in front of him, with a rope tied around his bindings and the other end in the leader's hands, his thighs tied and gagged with a cloth was forced to march. They took him by surprise and with his bow out of his reach, and he payed for it. As both left to go find Fir's Wo Dao, Fir then talked to Chad. "What happened to Nord anyways?", she asked. ''A pirate named Geese killed him'', Chad said. ''I heard the two had some unfinished business together'', he added. ''You just had to go snooping around, hadn't you little boy'', the leader sneered condescendingly and gave a quick yank to the rope on his hand making Klein fall to the ground. ''Mmpphhhh!'', Klein groaned. He was among the few Eturians of the island that wasn't corrupt and had decided to track the corruption to it's source..needless to say, the other nobles arranged for him to be kidnapped. They had ambushed him in the middle of a war council were weapons weren't allowed. "Well, that's oddly fitting", Fir said. As they checked the armory, she found her sword.

As Klein got up, he dusted himself off as best he could. Even as a captive, he wanted to show that he still had the grace and sense of refinement that these scum did not have. Still he was worried about Thite, who had managed to escape. What friendly forces were here? ''Ah, there it was'', Chad said happily she found it. ''So did that rebel girl tell you anything?'', but since they where both gagged probably not. ''What's with that look?'', the bandit asked teasingly. ''You should feel happy to help your fellow man! After all. your daddy is gonna make us filthy rich!'', as the whole group laughed. ''Not that it will help! Because your gonna spent the rest of your life in the mines!'', he taunted, showing that he didn't really know much about how ransoms work. ''Nghhhhhhmhp!'', Klein growled. He didn't fear these men in the slightest but still the fact he didn't only fail the people here but also his father unsettled him a bit. "No, I'm afraid our conversation was mostly muffled. Not that it stopped her from talking a lot anyways", Fir said. As the group marched Klein to their camp, they briefly untied him, only to re-tie him to a pole hands behind his back, and then tied his ankles firmly as well. Meanwhile, a Pegasus Knight was fleeing in fast direction. She only just escaped, but she had no clue where to go. Her name was Thite. "Come on, think!", she psyched herself. "Come on, come on, come on, AH!", as she remembered hearing something about a Lycian Alliance Army. It was a long shot, but it was something. Were they at...Armagh Castle, maybe?

''Knowing you it probably didn't'', as this time it was Chad's turn to tease. ''Nghh'', Klein looked around, he recognized this area. It was the land under the control of Bishop Oro who oversaw Ebrakhm Mine fittingly known as the Mine of Death after the corrupt Bishop took over. ''So he's behind my kidnapping'', Klein thought. The Eturians were good customers of Illia's famed mercenary pegasus knights so Thite's arrival was met without suspicion. Fir then messed up his hair a little with a slight chuckle of her own in a joking way. "But still, I'm glad you were among the first to come", Fir said. Thite's Pegasus flew as hard as she could to the castle. It was her only hope. Meanwhile, on top of the castle, two archers, Wolt and Dorothy were on guard. "Hey Dorothy", Wolt said. Flying unit at 6:00 o'clock", he noted. ''It as Roy's orders'', Chad said a bit embarrassed by the hair ruffling. ''But, I was ready to save you even without that'', he added. Klein wriggled around in his bonds wondering when the evil Bishop would come to gloat at his ''prize'', like the worm he was. ''Should we shoot it?'', Dorothy asked. Fir gave him a warm smile after hearing that. "You really are a nice guy, Chad. I'm happy to have you as a friend", Fir said. Wolt scanned the Pegasus Knight, but saw she was waving both her hands. "She seems to be unarmed", Wolt said. "Hmm, how odd", Dorothy replied. Meanwhile, Oro decided to wait for Klein to be gawked at by the miner-slaves there before he would "grace" him with his presence.

''Uh...yeah. You are really special to me too'', Chad said a bit awkwardly. ''Is that....sis!'', Thany, who was still scouting around, as before the two archers knew it, a second pegasus appeared into the sky and flew toward Thite. The slavers were horrible people who shamelessly gloated about how they would work such a ''pretty boy'' like Klein to the bone, still....they were so much better company then their master, Oro. "Come, let us leave this place and go see the rest of the army", Fir said. "From the sounds of things, we are going to be pretty busy soon", he added. As Wolt and Dorothy saw Thany flew up, they lowered their bows. "SIS!", Thany shouted. "Is that...Thany?", Thite asked herself. ''Yeah let's see what plans Lord Roy has'', Chad said. ''Sis what are you doing here?'', Thany asked. ''In your letter you said you were hired by a dashing noble far away!'', she said. "I was", Thite said. "And the Etruian high command here has captured him because he knows too much about their dirty secrets! Please, even if I have to be dragged to him in chains, please allow me to see the leader here so I can plead my case", she asked. ''In chains?!? Nothing of the sort!'', Thany firmly said. ''Don't worry, I'll get you an audience with Roy!''. And she did. Thite's info and then Lalum's, just so happened to be in the same place, and the result of what to do next was obvious.

'Wait, you'', the mercenary Dieck said to the pegasus knight. ''The noble? What was his name?'', he asked. "His name is Klein, sir", Thite said. "He's the son of the former Mage General of Etruria, Duke Pent of Reglay". Dieck flinched when he heard those names. ''Roy, I want to lead the charge against this bishop'', alhough it sounded more like an order then a request. ''Wow, is it me or does Dieck seems a bit angry?'', Chad noticed Dieck was holding a lot of anger back. "Yeah", Fir whispered back. Although it wasn't said, Dieck once served Klein's family and was like a big brother figure to him when he was young. ''This battle will be a tough one'', Chad said. ''Not only do we have to help the captured rebel forces but we also have to free a noble from captivity, so any plans sir?'', he asked. Roy. "I do", Roy said. "Divide and conquer. Dieck will lead the front-line assault, with Fir on the sword units, Bors on the Lance units, Geese on the axe units, Marcus for the cavalry, Wolt for the archers and Lugh for the magic users. Chad, can I trust you to infiltrate and rescue Klein?", he asked.

Yes, my lord'', Chad said. ''Lady, I need a description on how that guy looks like'', he said to Thite. "Uh, he was in a blue tunic with hand and feet armor, blonde, really quite handsome", Thite explained. ''Okay I'll look out for him'' Chad said and disappeared. a hour or two later, back at the enemy camp Klein noticed that the soldiers were all preparing for battle, had Thite succeeded in getting help? He wondered if he would be moved away into the mines during the battle since it was easier to hold him there. "Ugh, this is all your fault for not shooting down that dumb girl when you had the chance", a Brigand told a Hunter. "Because you know she got those Lycians here". "Bite me, I'd like you to try hitting a target that far", the Hunter replied. It seems that in their confusion and hurry, they left Klein still tied to the pole in the middle of one of their camps. "Well, at least I'm alone now", he though.

'Ah, they are coming out I see'', as Chad waited behind a rock for a chance and saw the bandit army leaving the camp to march toward the Lycian army. ''The camp can't be completely empty yet but this is as good as its gonna get'', then the thief came out from hiding and sneakily made his way to the camp. Feeling like he was alone, or close to, Klein tried struggling against his bonds as much as he could. "Mmmmpgh, nnnmpgh mmmmff!", he groaned into his gag, depressed and alone, but the bonds would hold firm. ''Okay, here they come!'' Dieck said. In fact however, he was the one coming to them, charging straight into their lines and holding them occupied so the rest had an opening. Thankfully, since the majority of the army that Dieck clashed with was Axe-users, and he and the back-up unit led by Fir were swordsmen, they had the advantage early on. Oro was watching the battle unfold from within his fortress above the mine. ''Damn it, my men are losing ground! You there! Order the poison brigade to move it'', he commanded. Chad climbed over the wall and jumped down into the camp. It wasn't long before he saw the bound Klein. ''Yeah, you are definitely a noble'', he noted. ''And let's see; Blond, blue outfit, fairly handsome I guess, you are Klein right?'', thogh Chad hadn't untied or ungagged him yyet.

"Yes, sir", a goon ordered. Suddenly, a band of thugs with poisoned weapons set out to the front lines. Klein nodded his head at this. "Ommmpfh thhmg hoooumgh oooogh Rrreggmmmpgh", he tried to explain, though not very well. Dieck recognized those weapons instantly. ''We need mages and archers over here! Shoot them before they get too close!'', he ordered. ''Here let me take out that ga-wow!'', Chad narrowly dodged a lance, as an armor knight had been sent to the camp to guard their prisoner and had arrived just in time. Lugh's mage brigade quickly came and unleashed a torrent of fireballs, thunderbolts and razor winds at the poison-wielders. As Chad evaded the Knight, Klein noticed that the neck piece of the armor was poorly put-on and hence, vulnerable. "Nmmmgph! Nmmpgmph!", he tried warning Chad as he put his head on his shoulder to illustrate the weak point. With the magic barrage and a new infantry charge, the bandits scattered freeing the way to Oro's fortress. Chad kept worriedly dodging, this wasn't going well! There was no way his tiny daggers could scratch that armor. "Hey what was that noble doing? Ah, I get it!'', Chad smiled. Fir finished off the leader of the Poison Squad, a Berserker, with one, clean stroke of her sword. "I think the front lines are crumbling, Dieck!", she said. Klein hoped that the thief had understood what he meant, or the only other way he'd win was for the knight to keel over from exhaustion.

''Yes, you should go help that boy save the noble'', Dieck said. ''I will settle things with that bishop'', he told her. Chad made a jump in the air and stabbed the armor knight in his exposed neck, killing him. ''Thanks for the hint'', Chad said as he pulled the cloth from Klein's mouth. ''You are General Klein right?'', he asked. "All right, if you insist", Fir said as she took her squadron with her. "Yes, I am. Thank you very much for your assistance. As I think it's fair to assume you are with them, I am in debt to the Lycian Alliance Army", Klein said. Dieck meanwhile took his men to face Bishop Oro. ''Good, then you can repay that debt right now'', as after cutting Klein's bonds, Chad opened his sack and took a bow out. ''It would be unwise to stay here, we should join up with my army but for that we need to cross the battlefield but I'm a thief so I need some help getting from one side to the other", he told him.

"BAH! Useless fools! All of them!", Oro said as he begun to mentally break down. Taking his staff and tome in hand, he prepared to meet the enemy forces. "Still, scum like them are a dime a dozen, I on the other hand, bring the light of the Gods against vile sinners! I shall prevail!", he told himself. "Ah, I am glad you knew I was an archer", Klein said as he took the bow in hand. "Yes, young sir, I will help you get there". Meanwhile, Dieck had confronted Oro. ''Bishop Oro, you were always a thorn in Lord Pent's side but this time you've gone too far'', as Dieck aimed his sword at the man ''Prepare to meet your gods'', he warned him. ''Yeah, well I didn't, I just didn't have anything else'', Chad said. ''Hope you got a good aim''. The thief and archer left the camp and entered the battlefield. "Well, well, well, if it isn't that old goat's mad dog. I'm surprised you haven't died fighting in arenas yet. Oh well, to die against me is a dignity you don't deserve, but is it not a Shepard's duty to bring his flock to where they belong? A pity yours is six feet under", Oro sneered. Meanwhile, Fir and her squadron had run up against a band of magic users. "All right, everyone split up! No grouping in bunches!", she said. "Oujay, take the shaman, I will aim for the sage", she said to her second-in-command. Elsewhere, Klein and Chad made their way in past what remained of the axemen. Dieck jumped into the air and dived toward Oro with his sword aimed at his heart. ''Hmmmm this isn't good'', Chad said as the axemen detected them. ''Hey, I don't know how well you can fight but if we don't join up with the others soon we'll lose and you'll be captured again'', as the two weren't going as fast as Chad hoped.

Oro fired off a blast of light magic at Dieck, but since he leaped in sync with where the sun was at, it made aiming at him difficult. "My apologies", Klein said as he was shooting down the axeman. "Perhaps you could guide me to your front lines?", he asked while shooting a fighter in the chest with an arrow. As a result, the attack missed Dieck and the mercenary inflicted a hit on the bishop. ''You are a pitiful fighter Oro'', Dieck said. ''...Hey wait is that?'', Chad saw Fir and some soldiers fighting with a group of mages ''Hey! Fir!'', Chad yelled. "Kyaaaaahhhh!", Oro screamed like a little girl as he wasn't used to that much pain before. "VILE CUR!", he yelled. Fir was locked in combat with the leader of the magic users. Concentrating, she stopped for one second to allow the Sage to get a bead on her, then rolled sideways as he fired off his Elfire tome, dashed forward, slid backwards, and thrust her sword behind her into the Sage's chest. The rest of the mages fell shortly afterwords. "Hmm, is that Chad?", Fir said out loud. "Hello? Chad! Over here!", she shouted.

''That's rich coming from a being as lowly as you'', Dieck said as he aimed his sword as Oro's throat. ''Normally I'd just arrest you and leave your execution to the law but, well you know what happens to those who endanger the House of Reglay'', he told the corrupt Bishop. ''Go to the loud voice'', Chad instruced Klein. ''Fir, have your men stand by! We have axeman on our tails!'', he shouted back. "No! You can't do this! I am a Bishop of the Church of St. Elimine!", Oro started to plead. "All right, but are you not coming?", Klein asked as he shot one more brigand down and prepared to head there. Fir heard what Chad said. "Reform!", she shouted and prepared for their assault. Dieck ignored it and coldly beheaded Oro. ''Yeah, I'm right behind you!'', as Chad ran toward Fir's's group and took his daggers out, With these numbers, he could fight. ''All right dogs! Show these Lycians what your made off!'', The axe commander yelled at his men. ''Otherwise, none of you is getting paid!'', he warned. "Ah, welcome back, Chad", Fir said. "I assume this fellow is General Klein?", she asked. "I am, but I think introductions can wait", he said. As they assembled, they heard the Commander's call. "Hmm, not much of a reason to fight", Fir said. "Shall we, miss and sir?", Klein asked as the horde charged.

Chad ran between the enemy lines. Because he was so much smaller then them, it was easy for him to deliver a cut to the legs that made the axeman unable to stand anymore. The rest of the Axeman were cut down by the swordsmen. Roy and Marcus' cavalry forced finished off the remainder of the enemy forces. Chad approached Roy ''Lord Roy, I got him!'', Chad said and pointed toward Klein. "Ah, well done Chad", Roy said. "So, you are indeed General Klein then?", he asked. "Yes, I am Klein. I won't bore you with my other titles, but if my and Thite's forces are still intact, I'd like to pledge their services to you and your army, Sir Roy", he said. "Oh, speaking, of, where is Thite?", he asked. ''It was nothing sir'' Chad said looking to the ground.

"KLEIN!", Thite said as she came running. ''Ah, there you are'', as Klein walked toward Thite and went to one knee, grabbed Thite's hand and kissed it as a gentleman. ''I'm so sorry for having gotten you involved in this, but I trust you are all right?'', he asked. "Yes. I am glad you are safe and sound, Klein", Thite said with a smile. "Good, I wouldn't want to cause you any worry-born wrinkles to that beautiful face of yours", he said. Fir then retrieved Chad. As for the mines, Klein and Thite's forces, plus Lalum's fellow resistance fighters were held prisoner there, but quickly freed. ''Huh?...I...well thank you'', Thite laughed as she was a bit embarrassed.

''And here I was thinking you would be swooning all over this guy'', Chad smiled to Fir. Fir gave Chad a gentle dope slap upside the head. "Yeah, he's quite pretty, but too much of a charmer for me", she said, also smiling. ''Ouch! But, he doesn't seem all that flaunting about his looks though'', as Chad rubbed his head. "Besides, it looks like he's already taken", Fir said. "Oh, and sorry if that hurt more then it was supposed to", she added. ''Nah don't worry about it'', Chad said. ''Excuse me Lord Roy, but I have something I want to give you'', as Klein handed Roy a map. "Ah, what is it Klein?", Roy asked. ''It's a military map of the area'', Klein explained. ''On it are quick roads to the capital only known to the Etruriam military'', he said. "Thank you very much, Klein. This will help immensely", Roy said.

After all the slaves were free and sent on their way back to their homes, Roy's troops decided on using the now-empty castle as a rest stop for the night. ''Well I guess we'll march to the capital tomorrow',' Chad said as he entered Fir's room. "It looks to be", Fir said back. "Nice job today, Chad. You showed some good skill there". ''Nah it was nothing, just regular thief's work'', Chad said. ''But you did a fine work on the battlefield'', he told her. "Thank you very much, Chad", Fir smiled. "So, do you need a room tonight?", she asked. "Or just wanted to stop by and chat?". ''I'm sharing the room with Lugh tonight'', Chad answered. ''So I thought I'd just come to chat'', he said. "Oh, okay", Fir said as she began to stretch out on her bed. ''Yup.....'' Chad said a bit awkwardly, he didn't really know what to say.

"Hey, did you see when we got back and Lalum practically wrapped herself around poor Roy?", Fir said. "I think Merlinus had to separate the two with a piece of wood". ''Yeah, I don't think it worked though'', Chad smiled. ''Weird girl'', he added. "Yes, I think Sir Roy's face was as red as his hair then", Fir said. ''Uh yeah, let's keep it down a bit'', Chad said. ''If that Merlinus guy hears we were laughing about it, he'll come after us'', he said more. "Yes, he seems especially flustered ever since she joined with us", Fir said. ''Well, she jumps on Roy every chance she gets so that doesn't surprise me''. "Yeah, that is true", Fir said.

''Say Fir, you know I said about sleeping with Lugh for the night right?'', Chad asked. ''Well I just thought of a...thing I need to do tonight'', as he seemed nervous, ''So tell him I'll be... back a little later''. Fir raised an eyebrow. "All right, I'll go tell him then", she said. ''If I go tell him, I have to hide the secret'', Chad said. ''Which is a problem cause I can't keep secrets from him'', he added. "So what should we do then?", Fir asked. 'Gee, I don't know'', Chad laughed nervously. Well, maybe you could tell me what the secret is, and then we can figure something out", Fir said. ''Well I told you Lugh had a twin brother named Ray right? Mouthy little bastard and very unlikeable'', Chad said. ''Still we grew up together and Lugh adores him so I like him to join us again...which is a problem'', as Chad's face darkened. ''I found out he's working with the Eturians for god knows what reason so...I decided to nab him from there and reunite him with Lugh''.

"I see. So, basically, you want to sneak off in the middle of the night, without orders, infiltrate the entire capital by yourself, nab this guy, and bring him back here", Fir asked. "Why not just let me capture him during the battle?", she asked. ''Because that would mean he would join in the battle'', Chad said. ''I really don't think Lugh would like it if we fought against him and..I wouldn't too actually, besides if I nab him before the battle, O can get some info out of him'', he explained. "Okay, but you do know the risks of what you plan to do, right?", Fir asked. ''Yeah, I do'', Chad said. ''Although I'm hoping Ray will pull some strings should things go wrong'', he hoped. "Okay, but remember, since we are going to battle there tomorrow, if you get overwhelmed, surrender. But, when we take the city, and I find you in the dungeons, the second you are out of harm's way, I am going to give you such an asskicking", Fir said. ''Uh y-yeah I'll keep that in mind!'', Chad stammered. ''Gee, I certainly can't fail now!''.

"It's only because I worry. Now go, I'll go tell Lugh you are bunking with me tonight. And don't get caught by our forces either!", Fir said and giving him a small hug for luck, she sent him off. ''Y-yeah I'll do that'', Chad said and left for Lugh's room. ''Sorry Lugh but I'll be sleeping with Fir tonight'', Chad said. ''But I promise I'll make it up to you! I have a..present I want to give you later'', he said. "No, it's all right. I'm just glad you are making more friends", Lugh said. "Plus, more room for me!", he cheerfully said. He did wonder what Chad meant about a gift, but he decided not to press it. Hahaha! You are great Lugh!'', Chad said happily in it didn't offend him. ''Later!'', as he ran out of the room. Lugh shook his head at Chad. He hoped he wasn't going to get into any more funny business with his new friend who just happened to be a girl.

Chad kept running until he was out of the castle and made his way to the capital the Western Islands, Djuto, guided by Klein's maps. Meanwhile, a young Shaman was up and sneaking around in the city alleys. It was Ray. "Hmm...Finding that so-called 'Man who isn't a Man' here is more tougher then I expected". Ray had heard of this new creature and was curious on what exactly it was. So, he joined their army as a mercenary to find out. Chad was sneaking around the roof tops as he made his way to the library. He reasoned that if Ray would be anywhere it would be there. He was pleasantly surprised when he saw the young Shaman earlier then he expected , as he seemed to be sneaking ''Hahaha! He's not really good at this'', Chad smiled as he disappeared into the shadows to follow his friend. "All right, this creature is not in any barracks nor in any of the storage rooms. The only place left is the HQ", Ray thought to himself. He started his way there, blissfully unaware of Chad being on his tail. Before Ray could make it any further, he felt himself being grabbed around his arms and a hand being forced firmly over his mouth. ''Shh it's me'', Chad whispered to the startled boy, which probably wasn't something he wanted to hear.

"Mmmpgh nnnmgph kkkmpgh!", Ray struggled as Chad began dragging him into an alley. He was trying to cast Flux, to no avail. 'H-hey I said shhhhhh!'', Chad hissed, as he made Ray bent over against a barrel while sitll holding his arms down. ''Okay Ray I'm gonna remove my hand but don't scream'', he warned. Hmm, just what I needed", Ray snarked. "Chad once again messing up my magical studies. Let me guess, come here to rob the palace?", he asked. ''Okay if it wasn't so long since we've seen one another, I would have shut your mouth already'', Chad said. ''And I'm not here to rob the place but to drag you back to Lugh, now what are you doing here!'', he demanded. "There's a strange creature among these forces here. I wanted to see what it was, so I showed these fools a bit of magic and they let me in as a mercenary or whatever term they used. As soon as I capture it, I couldn't care less about them", Ray said. Then, he processed all of what Chad said. "Wait...Lugh? What is Lugh doing here? He should be back in Lycia!". ''So should I, Lugh's here for the same reason as me, to crush Bern!'', Chad said. ''Those monsters killed the Father! So please join us too'', he said. "Father Lucius is dead?", Ray asked. While he hated that orphanage, the Father was one of the few workers there who truly cared for the children there. He gave him a mental farewell.

"But still, I need to find out what this creature is first, Chad. Tell Lugh I'll meet up with him after I found it", Ray said, hoping he could trick Chad. ''That won't do'', Chad said. ''Last time you disappeared without a word and I'm sure you will again once you get your information, so you just have to come with me'', further said. "Lugh would have followed me like a lost puppy if I didn't!", Ray protested. While he did love his twin brother, Ray was a Dark Magic practitioner, while Lugh was an Anima Magic one, and he needed to learn in his own ways. "Come on, let me go!", he pleaded. ''No! You will join us in our fight against Bern, that way you can grow in power, avenge Father Lucius and be with us'', as Chad knew Ray would refuse in which case he would just kidnap the Shaman. "Okay, I will, I promise. I just need to find out what this creature is, then I'll come join", Ray said. He did want to see Lugh, but knowing he was safe, he could wait just a while longer for a family reunion as something like what he heard about isn't quite as common. ''Family is more important then magic but if it makes you feel any better, I will talk to Roy so you can engage that...thing in combat'', Chad said. ''And that's the final thing I'll say about it, so you are coming!'', he told Ray firmly.

"Grr, you always have to be the big brother, don't you, Chad?", Ray asked, who was trying to squirm out of Chad's grip. He knew was about to happen. ''Yeah, and you always have to be the troublesome little brother'', as Chad took out a dark red cloth from under his cloak and tied it between Ray's teeth. "Grrmpgh mmmpgh!", Ray groaned as he felt Chad get out some rope, too. ''Stay still would you?'', Chad told the struggling boy as he tied his hands and feet together. When he was done, he lifted Ray over his shoulder. Even though this wasn't the first time he was tied up by Chad, Ray felt humiliated by this, but resigned himself to his fate as Chad stated his trek back to home base. As much as he could dislike him at times, he did feel like Chad was a brother to him and he didn't want to get him caught now. Chad was pleased with Ray's silence as he knew it meant Ray still cared about him and while Chad kept saying he was doing this for Lugh, he was quite happy to have meet his friend again. ''Okay we are outside the city limits'', Chad said in a relieved tone. ''You can start yelling again now'', but actually Ray couldn''t with that gag on. Ray kept silent as he knew it wouldn't do anything but give Chad the pleasure of knowing he was right, and that Ray should have just gone back to his brothers willingly.

''Oh? A Ray that keeps him mouth shut for once? That's new'', Chad laughed. Ray was very tempted to say something just then, but he decided that Chad would win even moreso if he gave in. So, he just sighed and hoped no one else could see him like this right now. When reaching the castle, he snuck past the Lycian army was stationed at he went back in the interior. Before giving Lugh his present, though Chad thought a introduction was in order and took Ray to Fir. ''Told you I'd be careful!'', Chad said proudly as he ruffled the captive Ray's hair. "I'm glad to see you back safe, Chad", Fir said. "Uh, sorry if this embarrasses you", she said to Ray. "My name is Fir and a member of the Lycian Alliance Army. I hope this experience doesn't sour you on us". Ray could only blush in shame. "Whhhmpg armpgh yoummmpgh shmmmping meooogmph ooofmpgh tommmmpgh yoummmmpgh ggggirllllgphnnnd?", he tried to ask. ''Nah! Ray is okay with this!'', Chad laughed. ''Feel free to ruffle his hair or pinch his cheeks!'', he offered. "No, I'd think it would be a bit rude", Fir said while Chad was happily doing what he offered. Ray's face could not have been any more redder.

''Hehe, suit yourself'', as Chad's giggle actually seemed pretty childish for once. ''Okay, let's go show you to Lugh!'', a laughing Chad walked to Lugh's room with Ray still over his shoulder. Fir could only shake her head at this. "Come back when you are done", she said. Ray glared at Chad as he was carried to his brother. "You know I'll get you for this, right?", he tried to say through his cleave-gag. ''Hahaha, that has never happened before!'', Chad laughed. Father Lucius had forbidden Ray from using magic against the others and physically he was very weak. "It will soon", Ray threatened through his gag, albeit not very well. It wasn't much longer till the two were at Lugh's room. Chad proudly entered without even knocking. ''Hey Lugh! Look what I found on my little stroll!'', he said proudly. Lugh was about to go ready to sleep when he heard that. "Chad! Knock next time!", Lugh said. Though he saw Chad had a young man bound over his shoulders, he couldn't see the head yet. "All right, who'd you tie up this time?", he asked. Ray was so embarrassed, he'd wonder if he'd faint from the shame alone.

''Same boy as always'', Chad smiled as placed Ray on the floor. ''It's Ray! I found Ray for you'', he said happily. "Ray?", Lugh asked. "Ray! It's you!", Lugh said as he dashed from bed and bear-hugged Ray, actually knocking both to the ground. "Ray! I'm so glad you are safe and sound! When the war broke out, I was worried something happened to you!". "Here, let me get that", as he ungagged his twin brother and started to untie him. Although Ray couldn't respond from the shock of impact, deep down, he was worried about the same thing for Chad and Lugh, too. ''Hahahaha! I totally saw that coming'', Chad laughed having expected Ray to receive a bear-hug. ''Hey, don't go doing that now, it makes him so much easier to deal with!', as the whole reunion had made Chad unnaturally cheerful, even his always present glare was gone for the moment. Lugh ignored Chad's request and unbound Ray. Shortly after, Ray, even to his surprise, gave the hug back to Lugh. "...I...I'm glad to see you too, Lugh", he said. He might be a bit naive, and touchy-feely, but they were still brothers, and Ray missed him a lot, too. ''Wow Ray I'm pretty moved by this'', Chad said completely genuine. He felt really happy for the twins. Ray summoned all his strength to say the next words. "Thank you, Chad, for bringing me here to see the two of you, though I wished the methods were different". "By the way, why did Chad tie you up, Ray?", Lugh asked.

''Well, as always, Ray was lost in his studies'', Chad said. ''He insisted he would come and see us after he was done but family goes before magic so I uh..forced him to come with me'', as he left out Ray working for the corrupt government during his study.
"Oh, it's always the same, huh Ray?", Lugh asked. "...Yeah. S-sorry", Ray mumbled. He gave a passing glance at Chad as if to say thanks for leaving out the part about Bern. Fir, who was quietly listening outside the door, felt very warm and fuzzy at hearing Chad's brothers meet up again. She never would have guessed that Chad was that much of a softie inside. ''Hahahaha! Just like old times yeah'', Chad laughed. He then heard something, as if someone was listening in. Realizing she accidentally made some noise, Fir sneaked back as softly as the soles of her boots would allow, then pretended to wander out loud: "Hmm, I can't believe I forgot where the wash room is", she faked. "Is that the lady we met earlier?", Ray asked. ''Yeah that is Fir, a swordmaster from Sacae'', Chad said.

Hearing her name dropped, Fir hurried back her room. She hated to be so nosy, but she did want to hear that. "By the way, since Ray's back and with us now, how will the room situation be?", Lugh asked. ''I'd love to crash with you guys but sadly only two people are allowed to share a room here'', Chad said. ''I think you two would be most comfortable with each other so I'll share my room with Fir'', he further said. "Okay, thanks Chad. See you tomorrow!", Lugh said happily. Ray offered a nod as acknowledgment. Fir was back in her room now, waiting for Chad to show up. "Come on, Ray, let's get ready for bed", Lugh said to his twin. "...Okay. That sounds....nice", Ray said. In the end, he was happy that Lugh's kind-hearted nature didn't have to deal with them being on opposite sides of the battlefield, and that his brother was still as nice as ever.

When he was back at Fir's place, Chad's face was still glowing with pride and he looked very happy. "I'm glad you are safe", Fir said. "How did Lugh take it?", she asked. ''He was really happy!'', Chad said. ''So it was totally worth the dangerous trip'', he added. "Good, I'm glad everything worked out", Fir said. "So, I guess with them reunited, you have to bunk with me now?", Fir asked. ''Yeah, I hope your fine with it'', Chad said. "No problem at all", Fir replied back. ''That's good'', Chad nodded ''Although...I'm not sleepy at all'', he said. In fact the whole trip to the capital and back had filled Chad with energy. "I see", Fir said as she knew where this was going. ''So could one of us...you know'', Chad said. "Yeah yeah, how do you want to be tied and what do you want done to you?", Fir asked. ''Hogtied and you can decide yourself what you'll do to me'', Chad said. "Okay, on the bed, Chad", Fir said.

Chad lied on the bed. Fir grabbed some rope and tightly bound Chad into a hogtie. She grabbed a cloth and tied it over his mouth. "So, since Mr. Hero still feels antsy, I think a tickle-massage is just the thing to calm you down", she said. ''Nghhh hhhmph!'', Chad raised his eyebrows at being called mister hero. Fir then began to rickle then rub his shoulders together firmly, yet gently at the same time. ''Nghwmmph ymphh dmming?'', Chad made some muffled sounds. "Shh", Fir said. "Just lie back and enjoy", as she continued to tickle, thenmassage his arms. She wanted see if he could relax him to the point where he could dose off by himself. Chad was indeed getting a little sleepy. This was the first time Fir had ever massaged anybody, least of all a boy, but she could tell it was working, and Chad was enjoying it. She tickled, then massaged his legs to make sure every body part was relaxed. ''Ghghhh..zzz..mphhhhh'', Chad struggled to stay awake from it all. The tickle-massage combo was working. Fir's left hand started on his neck while her right on the back of his knee, and both moved up and down to meet together, working on almost his entire body in one fell swoop. ''Mmm ngmph! mmhhh.....mpzzzzzzzzzzz'', as after a last attempt to stay awake, Chad's felt his eyes close and he drifted off. Fir continued to just massage him for a little while longer. Checking he was now asleep, Fir gently untied and ungagged him, took off his boots and gloves, flipped him over, put a pillow under his head, covered him with a blanket, and then she gave him a light kiss on the forehead. "Goodnight, Chad", Fir said with a smile as she herself went to bed shortly after. After what he did for the twins, Fir didn't want to treat him too badly tonight.

In the morning, preparations were made for the assault on Djuto where the corrupt lord Alcard resided. Alcard's army had managed to defeat the rebel army a few days earlier and one it's leaders was held there as well. With Ray's information, the Lycian Alliance Army discovered that beside the elite guard, there also was a ''man that wasn't a man'' a being that surely held much power. As Roy's army began to mobilize for the final battle in their campaign on the Western Islands, a small force led by a tough-looking woman by the name of Echidna came before them. She told them everything, of her position as a member of the resistance, of the size of their forces, that the strategist was captured, of the strange shapeshifter, everything. ''Ray said something about that too'', Chad said. ''But no one is able to tell what that thing changes into'', he added. "Hmm. It seems magical in origin, so we must fight fire with fire", Roy reasoned. Ray liked the sounds of that. Echinda also explained there was a local Warrior around who liked to frequent Djuto's bars named Bartre around that might be of use. Fir's eyes opened wide when she heard that, as that was her father. Elsewhere, a young female Thief named Cath was scouting out Djuto. She knew a conflict was coming, and she wanted to raid the palace of goods.

''Are you feeling all right girl?'', Chad asked. ''Because you look a bit...shocked'', he asked as everybody began to prepare. ''Hey! you! You are joining my squad, boy!'', Dieck yelled toward Klein. ''And no slacking off! Just because you are a noble doesn't mean you get to slack off!'', as Dieck couldn't resist seeing with his own eyes how his ''little master'' Klein had grown but Klein recognizing him might be a problem, so Dieck's solution was to act in such a way Klein would not link back to his old friend.
"Erm...no. I'm...I'm fine, thanks", Fir lied. "Of course, after that humiliating affair last time, I am eager to aid this cause", Klein said. He wondered if Dieck didn't recognize him, as it had been a few years since they last met, but he diceded not to press it, as he wanted to prove his worth to his old master before saying anything.

"Hehehe, I can see the Lycians are starting to move. Time to make mine!", Cath said. She began to find a roof entrance to the capital palace. ''You are bad at lying'', Chad said. ''But I won't press it, so just lead me to the gate and I can pick the lock so the rest of us can enter the castle'', he said. ''Yeah, that's right you got a lot to make up for'', Dieck said. ''Hope you can keep up'', he added. Unfortunately for Cath, soldiers were stationed everywhere, and there wasn't an inch of Djuto that wasn't guarded.

"All right", Fir said. Today, Chad was with Fir's swordsmen and they would be part of the vanguard. Elsewhere, Klein did not say anything, he would ask this man later after the battle. "Sheesh! They are just getting here! I need to hurry so I can get all the good stuff before the Lycians do!", Cath thought to herself. She spyed an open window on the top floor. "Bingo!". ''Okay men! While Roy and his men go kill that cloaked freak, we will fight our way to the dungeon!'', as Dieck raised his sword. ''To me, men!''. At a bar near the castle gate, a large man wielding an Axe was creating quite a commotion for the Eturians there. The soldiers hadn't noticed the thief....yet. Fir and her group served as a back-up force for Roy, while Chad joined the one going to the dungeons, as he would be a good lockpicker. "So, it looks like battle is calling my name once again", Bartre said to himself. Grabbing a huge mug of beer, he waited for some troops to come his way before he would decide to fight against which force. "Hehe! These morons won't even notice a thing!", Cath though to herself as she headed to the treasury.

''Dieck! Klein!'' I'm coming with you'', Chad rushed toward them. ''It should save you the difficulty of getting your hands on some keys'', he said. As soon as Cath entered the treasury. soldiers were ready to ambush her. They had expected Roy to sent his Thief here. ''Got you!'', a soldier yelled as he suddenly appeared and firmly locked his hand over Cath's mouth. Elsewhere, Fir and her squad was fighting sporadic forces in the city streets. "Fine. You, blondie. Protect him when he does his work", Dieck said to Klein. "Mmmpgh nnmpgh!", Cath shrieked, accidentally dropping her knife. ''Yo, Fir! The battle called you as well, I see'', as Bartre greeted his daughter while beheading an enemy once her squad got close to the bar. ''Once this is done, your old man has something to discuss with you'', as Fir's journey wasn't exactly approved of by Bartre, or rather that she went on the journey without even telling him. ''Wow! Dieck sounds a bit grumpy! What's with him all of a sudden?'', Chad asked Klein. ''He's normally so nic-y-yikes! Okay I'll stop talking'', as Dieck had given him quite the glare. ''You! Lock this Lycian scum in the dungeon!'', the soldier that caught Cath ordered two others. "D-Daddy?!?", Fir exclaimed in shock. "What are you doing here?!?", she asked. Klein was assisting in shooting down soldiers, so he couldn't really hear what Chad asked him. The two soldiers bound Cath's wrists and ankles with rope and began carrying her off into the dungeon. ''Looking for you, of course!'', Bartee said. ''I've been searching these whole islands for you'', he told his wayward daughter. ''Inside!'', as Cath was roughly kicked inside the cell. She tried testing her bonds, but htye were quite tight. ''A young girl?'', a calm voice at the end of the room asked in surprise. ''How odd'', it added. ''Hey Klein! Dieck!'', Chad said as hestabbed a soldier in the gut. ''Do we know who we are looking for?'', he asked.

"Uh....g-great!", Fir said as she was starting to wonder if desertion was an option. She loved her father, but he was a bit too overprotective. "Yeah, some bard who works as a strategist", Dieck answered ."Who's that?", Cath asked as best she could. The voice came from a andrygenous, golden-haired man whose hands were chained above him and a ball-and-chained bound his feet together. His name was Elphin. "Hey! What's that look?'', Bartre asked. ''Just because you want to get stronger on your own doesn't mean I can't help you in tough situations", he advised Fir. ''Not exactly a combo you see every day'', Chad said. ''I am Elphin, a resident of these islands'', the bard answered. ''I'm surprised, I didn't expect Lord Alcard to go so far as to imprison younglings'', he said. Fir gave up on it and prepared to continue the fight. "Er...yeah! Sheesh, what a jerk!", Cath lied. With Bartre's help, Roy's army managed to fight their way to the throne room were their mysterious opponent was waiting, as Lord Alcard fled back to Etruria before the battle even began in cowardice. ''....I may have judged too hastyily'', as somehow Elphin got the feeling there was more to the girl then this.

"...Die...", the cloaked figure said as within a flash, he turned into a Fire Dragon. "That's....That's no good", Fir stated the obvious. "Huh? What do you mean?!? Obviously, I'm a sweet, young women captured for no good reason at all!", Cath pouted. ''This one isn't so big as that one from the past''. Bartre said, comparing the manakute with the huge dragon he fought at the Dragon's Gate twenty years ago. ''Still this will be a tough one'', he added. Elphin smiled gently at her. ''The jewels in your pocket tell a different tale'', he said. Fir remembered hearing the tales her father told him of his time with Marquiss Eliwood twenty years ago. "Okay, he must breathe fire, so let's stab him in the ribs!", she suggested boisterously, not unlike Bartre himself. "Geh!", Cath exclaimed in surprise. "Er...what's so strange about a girl with jewle...okay fine, yes I am a thief. You happy?", she crabbily asked Elphin. This proved to be very difficult to fight the Manakete since most couldn't even get close to the dragon without being hit by his flames. ''A young girl stealing doesn't make anyone happy but I'm satisfied for the moment'', Elphin said. ''Now I believe I hear fighting above us'', he said. "Allow me", Ray said as he began to charge up a dark magic spell, causing him to be surrounded by an aura in the shape of a demonic wolf. It was the Fenrir spell. "Oh yeah, there is. It is Bern's Eturian puppets vs the Lycian Alliance Army", Cath explained. "I was hoping to profit from their carnage, but apparently not. So, what's your story? What's a nice, looking lady like yourself doing here?", she asked, unaware that Elphin was actually a boy, despite his looks.

''See, Ray? I told you we'd be on time'', Lugh said cheerfully, despite the situation. ''Hey guys, me and Ray are gonna help you hold that thing off!'', as the young mage shot a lightning bolt at the dragon. ''We just need to keep the thing busy until Roy comes with our secret weapon'', he said . ''..........'', as Elphin thought his voice made it clear enough he was a man. ''I'm just a humble bard traveling these isles'', he said. ''But when I saw the people's plight, I could not help but get involved'', as now that he thought about it, Elphin was very lucky Alcard thought himself above looking at the prisoners, he would surely have recognized him otherwise. "All right, protect the magic users!", Fir ordered. "Huh, it sounds like you didn't do anything really wrong", Cath said. "So, anyways, how far can you move your hands?", she asked wondering if she could free herself with his aid. Bartre stood before the two kids to catch any hit that came in their way while the twins unleashed all the magic they had on the beast. ''Not very far'', Elphin apologized. ''But I predict a Lycian victory, which means we will soon be free...unless the Eturians feel there is trouble in us walking out of this'', the bard didn't exclude the possibility that they would be executed by the losing Eturians.

Meanwhile, Roy came riding out, armed, with a very large sword. None other then the "Blazing Blade", Durandal. "Too bad. I guess we are stuck, and I can't find the knot on this", Cath said. "But uh, I mean, if the Lycians win, I mean we are both common people right? We should stick together until we get out of this mess", she added, as the bard's calm, rational manner could help her talk their way out of if questioned. ''Is that.....ah, the memories make by blood boil in excitement'', as Bartre had a look of pure excitement on his face. ''I must say the thing suited the father a lot better'', as the Durandal was a huge blade which seemed a bit off when wielded by the 16 year old Roy, despite Eliwood being not that much older when he wielded it. ''I'm sorry but that really wouldn't do you any good'', Elphin said, as he avoided ''sticking'' with people in fear they might find out his secret. ''But, are you okay? You seem like you are thrashing around with great vigor, despite no results", he asked. The girl looked postively tired from trying to get free. "Thank you all for weakening the creature", Roy said. "I don't think I like to use this power too often", as he prepared and dashed forth and killed the Manakete with one fearsome, fire-enhanced swing. "Father was right, this weapon is powerful", he said to himself.

"Bah, I've had worse!", Cath said, which actually was true, but she was struggling as best she could. "But, thanks. Okay, so instead, just a bygones be bygones. I leave, you leave, no questions asked, none answered. Deal?", she asked. "Okay, I will", Elhpin said to her. ''If only Lord Eliwood were here to see this'', Bartre smiled. ''Nice job kid'', he told Roy with a look of pride on his face. ''Uh....Ray? What are you doing?'', Lugh asked when he saw his twin with such a happy smile it bordered on creepy. Ray found both the sword and the dead manakete so impressive he didn't know what to examine first. ''Ah, this seems to be the dungeon guys'', Chad said. ''Just stand back while I pick the lock'', he said. ''Stunning image of your father you are lad'', Bartre gave the young lord a small nod. ''I traveled with his company a while ago when he was young'', he said. ''Ray don't go touching dead things!'', as Lugh shook his head at Ray's antics. The prison door opened and the group entered. ''A girl?'', Chad asked surprised when he saw Cath. ''No, a thief!'', as he instantly recognized her profession from her cloak. ''Hey, you all right?'', Chad asked as he began to untie her. Elphin was a bit shocked when the door opened as Klein was the first person he saw which he feared gave him some explaining to do...or just like Dieck going into extreme denial. "Oh, are you one of the two axefighters that joined with him when he started his quest, Bartre the Brave?", Roy asked. "Er, yeah", as Cath could see he too was a Thief. "....No, it couldn't be", Klein said. "Prince...Prince Mildain?!?", he said in shock as he went to free the so-called bard.

''Yeah that's me'', Bartre said. ''And you already know my kid of course'', he said as he drew Fir close and patted her head affectionetly, which made Fir smile a bit, as she hugged her father. ''Here, let me get that'', as Chad helped her up. ''Aren't you a little young to break into castles?'', but since Chad was the same age he wasn't one to talk about that. ''Prince? You must be mistaken, I am but a humble bard'', Elphin said. ''You have my thanks for freeing me, though'', he added as Klein had it rough with all his old friends pretending not to know him. Roy looked happy, but also a little confused when Bartre brought Fir next to him. "It's a long story", Fir said, knowing he was wondering how the two could be related, as Fir looked nothing like Bartre, moreso like her mother Karla. Cath whispered into Chad's ear. "Thieves' honor. I let you have all the stuff here, you let me go. Deal?", she asked. "But...you are a spitting image of him, even though he died a year ago", Klein said. As he unchained him, Klein noticed a scar on his shoulder. "This...This is!", referring the the same wound Mildain recvieved in his fatal wounding a year ago. ''No chance girl'', Chad said a bit unsettled about her mention of thieves honor. ''You can't just buy me off like that, as I happen to be an honest thief!'', he told her. ''You know, the history of the House of Reglay has always been of interest amongst us bards'', Elpin said. ''May I be so bold as to ask if I can sing it for you tonight?'', he asked. ''I would be honored if a Reglay listened to my work'', but the bard's words could be translated as ''Not now Klein, let's talk in private later'', as a code. "Aw, come on!", Cath pouted. Klien understood what Mil...Elphin meant and helped him out of the cell, while Chad pinned Cath's arms and marched her out. ''Listen, you are a thief and you aren't on our side!'', Chad said. ''Why would I release you?'', he asked her.

"Because I'm cute, of course!", Cath said, as Dieck, Klein, Elphin and the other troops and prisoners went to Roy's force while Chad took Cath to the side. ''You are nothing special and could you stop moving so much?'', as tt was quite a chore for Chad to move this girl. ''Roy, this man would like to speak to you'', Dieck said as he presented Elphin. "You pig! And what are you going to do to me anyways?!?", Cath asked angrily. "Thank you", Roy said. "I hear you were a prisoner. May I ask if you were one of the resistance leaders? The main one, Echidna, is here, mopping up the remnants of the enemy forces", he further said. ''You are not an important prisoner, so I'll just keep you in a room until Roy has time for you'', Chad said as Cath's struggling seemed to lessen somewhat. But Chad didn't realized it was because she was skillfully reaching for his dagger. ''I do not hold any official rank but my strategies made me a valued member'', Elphin said as he was half the reason they weren't wiped out yet. ''Thanks to you however, my service's are no longer needed here'', he added. "By the way", Cath said as she then grabbed the knife, broke free and then pointed his dagger at a very...sensitive place. "Nice dagger. Now, hands up", she added. "I see", Roy said. Fir was wondering where did Chad run off to. ''What! you!...grrrr!'', Chad growled but did as she said. ''Now, I'm sure you and your men need some rest'', Elphin took his leave. ''Tomorrow, I will present you with some information you might find useful'', he told him.

Cath then guided Chad into a storeroom, and bound his hands behind a support pole, tied his ankles, and gagged him with a cloth. "You should have just let me go, but nooooooo, and now look at you!", Cath said. "Okay, we are about to enter the castle, so please find Echnida and get some rest", Roy told him. ''Nggg ghmmmm! hhhphhhhhh!'', Chad angrily screamed at her while making his most intense glare yet. Chad's anger was worse when he felt Cath pinch his cheeks, apparently she found him cute this way. "Bye bye, baby!", Cath cheerfully said as she began to leave. Suddenly, she heard heavy footsteps approaching. Running, she saw a open window on the second floor, and jumped...right into the castle grounds where Roy was walking to the entrance. "Aw....crap", she thought to herself. ''Huh? Who are you?'', Roy asked surprised. ''Mmphhhhh! ghhhhh HHMPHHHH!'', Chad struggled like crazy and screamed his lungs out. "Damm that girl!", he thought to himself. Cath was grateful that Roy hadn't recognized her yet. "It is I, Cath, known as the Silent Flash! Once I was a Thief of incredible skill, but after a heart-to-heart meeting with a golden-haired bard, I decided this was the path of evil, so I wanted to help my rescuers anyway I could!", Cath lied her feet off. "So, as a way to show my skills, I bound another Thief in a storage room!". It was probably a good thing Fir was having a conversation with her father, as she probably would have throttled Cath right there otherwise after hearing that. ''That's a...weird way of showing your skills'', Roy said a bit confused. ''About the thief, was he a boy with brown hair and a brown cape?'', he asked. "Yes, he was. Such an awful brute!", Cath said. "He called me an ugly hag!", she pouted. ''Such a thing doesn't sound like something Chad would say'', Roy said. ''Er, could you bring me to him?'', he asked. This was about the last thing she wanted to do, but what else could she do? So, she did. "There he is", pointing to the bound thief.

''MMMPHHHHHHHHHH!'', A horrified Chad became very red as his commander saw him like this. The fact he most likely knew some crazy girl did this made it worse. The soldiers accompanying Roy quickly untied Chad. "So, what do you think? As you could see, completely helpless!", Cath said. "I'd say I'm a pretty good thief!".''Since when is that something to be proud off!''. Chad yelled. ''And what was that all about, are you crazy?!?''. Since she was undoubtedly the better thief Chad was a bit intimidated by her, mostly because she had just used those skills to tie him up. "Crazy like a fox!", Cath replied back. "All right, all right. You do seem to have some skills. Chad sometimes can't do all the stealth work here, so when we need you, you are up. so, shake hands and report to the barracks", Roy said. He wasn't quite sure if he was being conned, but he would play along for now. He just had to remember to tell the resident assassin Astohl to watch her for a while. ''Shake hands.....?'', Chad asked in disgust. He had the feeling that if he did Cath would just pull him in a tight grip with a dagger at his throat or something. He did think she was crazy after all. Cath, on the other hand, did just what Roy asked and left to go see the quartermaster. "Well, this isn't the worst thing that could happen", she thought to herself. "At least I get room and board!", she smiled. ''Ugh! This really need to be kept a secret!'', Chad growled and as he went back into the main keep of the castle. As Roy shook his head, Fir finally managed to sneak off from Bartre.

''Hey Fir! What's up?'', Chad asked, seeing she acted a bit differently. "Hello, Chad. Why is your mouth red?", Fir asked. ''N-n-no r-reason!'', Chad stammered with his cheeks turning red. Having Fir find out about this would be embarrassing'. Fir decided not to press it. "Do you want to sneak into a room together? I have to hide quickly", she said. ''Uh yeah, all right'', Chad said. ''Who do you need to escape from?'', he asked. "Do you remember seeing that tall, mustached guy with the axe?", Fir asked. "That's my dad, Bartre", she said. ''Huh? You have a dad?'', Chad asked surprised. ''Not sure why that's a reason to hide, but all right'', as he took Fir to the storeroom Cath had left him tied up in earlier. "You don't understand, he's very overprotective, and he might join up with us", Fir said. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I love him and all, but my mother had to do the same thing my age", she added. ''You are not your mother but that guy's daughter'', Chad said. ''Of course he would be worried about a young girl traveling alone to fight'', he chastized her. "You seem to forget me subduing you bare-handed the first time we tied eachother up", Fir said. ''T-that's different! I'm younger and really skinny'', Chad said. There was never all that much food back at the orphanage. While Fir was kinda skinny also, she had those kind of wiry muscles befitting a swordswomen. "So, how long should we wait in here?", she asked.

''Hey, you are the one who wants to hide'', Chad said ''So that's totally up to you'', he told her. "Should we just stop beating around the bush and just do what we are going to do soon anyways?", Fir asked. ''Uh, yeah all right'', Chad said. Some of the rope and cloth Cath tied Chad with where still in the room. "Just a fair warning, make sure that door is locked as tight as it can be", Fir said. ''It is'', Chad said. ''Any special wishes?'', he asked. "Some tickling, some massaging, maybe a little teasing", Fir said. ''I meant how to tie you up'', Chad said ''And...you know I'm not one to tease'', he added. "That's a joke, right?, Fir asked. "Anyways, hands over head and behind the pole, feet tied, gagged with a cloth", she answered. ''No, it isn't'', as Chad was in general was, a few exceptions aside, a bit too serious to actively tease people that weren't the twins or Fir sometimes. ''But yeah, I'll tie you up like that'', he said doing exactly that.

''Okay done!'', Chad said as he made the final knot to Fir's gag. Fir made a struggle to test Chad's bonds and they held quite nicely. "Nmmgph", she groaned. ''Seems like I did well'', Chad said as he began to adjust Fir's tunic to keep her modesty. Fir shook her head vigorously at this, to show disapproval. She was too ticklish in her thighs to endure one of Chad's tickle tortures there. Chad thought Fir was just being difficult and thus started tickling her there. While the tightly-knotted gag made Fir's muffled groans heard to hear, she was still laughing enough and struggling to separate Chad's hands from her bare thighs. "Gee, you are really letting me work for this'', Chad said as he switched to her ribs. Thankfully, Fir was more used to that, so it wasn't quite as bad. ''You are coping better when I tickle that place, I see'', Chad said. ''So that's where I'm gonna do it from now on then'', as he increased his speed. Fir wriggled, although she wished Chad could pull her tunic down as the cold, stone room was quite chilly against her bare skin. Chad saw it and was nice enough to pull it down all the way. ''Okay, let's try your armpits for now'', Chad said and started tickling there. Fir began to laugh and writhe at this new assault. ''Phew! Okay you got enough'', Chad said and stopped tickling.

Fir started to calm down from the tickling. ''Wanna switch now?'', Chad asked. Fir nodded her head. Chad untied and ungagged her. ''Okay, your turn Fir'', he said. Fir then put Chad face-first in front of the pole, tied his hands above him, then his ankles, and gagged him with a cloth. ''Mphhhhhhh!'', as this opposite tie...wasn't really comfortable. Fir then began to tickle the back of Chad's ribs. ''Nghhhhhhhhm!'', Chad started making muffled laughter and after not so long whines of protest. Fir then began to lightly spank Chad, but not too hard to actually hurt him. ''Hhhpmh? MMPHHHHHHHHH!'', Chad was very surprised by this. Fir made sure Chad wasn't hurt too much by the spanking, and tickles his thighs afterwords. ''Mpphhhh...phhh'', Chad was starting to get a bit exhausted by all the muffled screaming. Soon after finishing tickling, caressing and spanking her poor captive, Fir untied and ungagged Chad.

''Thanks for untying me'', Chad said as he stretched out a little. "No problem. Also, sorry if I hurt you", Fir said. ''Nah, don't worry you didn't'', Chad said. "So, would a tough guy like you want a few more rounds?", Fir teased. ''Yeah, yeah stop your teasing Lady'', as Chad rolled his eyes. "Okay, I will", Fir said with a smile. "I'm glad you are my friend, Chad", she said. ''Same here Fir'', Chad said ''Let's promise to stay in touch when all this is over''.

And so, with the capture of Djuto, the Lycian Alliance Army had defeated all the major bandit/pirate clans and the corrupt, Bern-controlled Etrurian faction that controlled the Western Islands.

The war would continue, with Roy and his forces freeing Etruria from the civil war/rebellion it faced, then freeing Illa and Sacae from Bern's influence, then directly invading Bern itself, defeating King Zephiel and the dragon forces he hoped to unleash upon Elibe.

With the war over, many of the army went their separate ways. Chad gave up thievery and traveled Elibe, helping the war orphans and those who suffered any way he could. Fir went back to her job as a prizefighter and gladiator. But, a couple years after the war ended, Chad and Fir met up once more, now all grown up. And then, their friendship began to become a bit more serious. Soon, both traveled Elibe together getting into all sorts of misadventures and eventually, with the blessing of Bartre, the two wed and a few years after that were blessed with a baby boy, who had his mother's looks, but his father's temperament.

And so would a new generation of heroes be ready for the day when Elibe would be thrown into chaos by the whims of madmen like King Zephiel, or the dark druid Nergal before him and would restore the natural balance of order.

The end.
