Actually, you have to prove there was a good reason to feel threatened, not just say "I felt it." Otherwise, you can cover quite a lot by saying "I felt in danger."
Depending on what the guy was saying and/or how he was acting COULD potentially be considering threatening. Shouting at someone is not, in itself, a threat, even if it is done in anger. Continually harassing someone, acting as if you may legitimately attack, or of course, actually stating you are going to attack them means they are a threat. To be fair, I'm not sure exactly what Jay meant happened. I read it purely as it was written and only wrote a post based off that.
