Carol's Kidnapping

Postby bdbraaten » Wed Dec 29, 2010 9:40 am

Carol was relaxing in the lounge chair soaking up some sun. Her red bandeau top string bikini clung to her curves leaving little to the imagination of the other resort guests on the beach. She'd come a few days early and her husband would be joining her later today.

She was started when a resort worker walked up beside her. “Excuse me Miss, I'm sorry for disturbing you but may I have a moment of your time?”

“Yes, what can I do for you?”

He handed her an envelope, “this was delivered for you a few minutes ago.”

“Thank you,” Carol replied as she took the envelope.

The worker didn't reply, he just turned and walked away.

Carol opened the envelope, inside was a small note and what looked like an in-ear hearing aid. The note read:

Important message, place aid in right ear to hear more

“That's rather cryptic,” Carol thought as she looked around for the person who'd delivered it. She couldn't find them so she laid back and stared at it for a minute, her curiosity continuing to grow so she inserted the aid and sat back.

As she lowered her hands back to her lap a voice came through the earpiece, “Very good, you follow instructions well. Let's start with the basics, you're being watched. If you speak or try to remove the ear wig will result in you being shot. If you think this is a joke, look down at your bikini top.”

Carol slowly lowered her head and saw three red dots on her otherwise plain black top.

She laid her head back and the voice continued, “Those are the laser indicators from 3 sniper rifles trained on you. Fail to follow any of our instructions and they'll shoot, as well as killing the three people closest to you. Nod if you understand.”

Carol nervously nodded her head.

“Very good,” the voice continued. “Now in a few moments you're going to get up and go for a swim. You'll swim out until I tell you to stop. At which time you will tread water and await further instructions. Leave your stuff behind, one of our associates will collect it after you're in the water. Understand?”

Carol nodded again, trying not to stay calm and not draw attention to herself.

“Very good, go now.”

Carol slowly got up and made her way to the water, she waded out until the water was knee deep and dove in. She surfaced and started swimming straight out.

“Very good,” came the voice in her ear again. She'd swam out about 200 feet when she heard, “Stop, tread water here.”

She shifted to a treading position, wondering how long she'd have to wait.

“You’re doing very well, if you look down you’ll see a light under the water, nod if you see it.”

“He’s got to be kidding,” Carol thought as she tried to look under the water, but she did see a flicker coming from the deep somewhere.

When she nodded the voice continued, “there is a scuba tank waiting for you down there, you need to free dive down to it. You’ll receive further instructions once you’re there, the area around the light is being monitored.”

Carol took a few deep breaths to fill her lungs as much as possible then went under and started swimming toward the light. She reached it easily and found the tank, she purged the valve and stuck the regulator in her mouth. After taking a few breaths to calm herself from the dive she looked around. She was the only person in the area. Besides the light and the scuba tank, the only other man-made objects in the area were a dive mask and what looked like some kind of stretcher. She was about to check them out when the voice returned.

"Very good, your disappearance didn't attract attention so we can continue. Move to the stretcher and sit down."

Carol moved over to the stretcher and examined it. There were three straps attached to it, two at the one end of it and on at the other.

Carol hesitated hoping they didn't want her to do what she was expecting but her hope was short lived as the voice started up again.

"Secure your neck and ankles, I'm sure you can figure put which go where."

Carol sat down and set her ankles in on the end with two straps and buckled them down. She laid back and, being careful not to catch the air hose or her hair, fastened the strap around her neck.

"Very good, you follow instructions well."

"Like I really have a choice," Carol thought so she laid there.

"Reach under the right edge of the stretcher, you'll find a pair of blacked out swim goggles. Put them on and place your hands down at your sides, somebody will be along to collect you."

"Collect me, what the heck does that mean?" Carol wondered as she reached over the edge and found the goggles. She pulled them on they covered her eyes and her nose, and laid her hands at her sides and tried to remain calm. She didn't have to wait long as she heard someone, our someones, approaching. Whomever approached cuffed her hands to the sides of the stretcher. She was left alone again for a few moments, then she felt herself being lifted off the ocean floor. Something was attached to the sides of her stretcher.

"You have been a good sport my dear, all will be explained to you soon enough. But for now I'm afraid it's lights out.”

"What does that mean?” Carol thought as the smell of her oxygen change, she passed out shortly thereafter.

Glad to hear people like it. I don't know if there will be a follow up to it, or if I'll just leave it hanging for readers to decide what happens to her on their own.

No teasing intended, just not sure where to go with it. Have a couple thoughts but can't pick one. Kind of threw myself a curveball with that ending, didn't originally plan to knock her out but it just kind of flowed so I ran with it.

I'll see what I can do.

Nope, I'm still stuck. Kind of reaching a point where I'm going to give up on it and move onto a different story.
