Why not to use zip ties for bondage

Postby Fesselfan » Mon Mar 02, 2015 12:22 am

Hi folks,

especially with the advent of the shades of grey novels, a lot of people again think that zip ties are a smart idea for bondage. They are not.
One of my bondage vitctims&me decided to show you why. We are both experienced in bondage...she consented to it, so we knew what we did...

This is the bondage position I placed her into:

And this is how her arms looked like after just 5 minutes in this position. As you can see, the zip ties already dug deep into her wrists.

The marks at the wrists lasted for three days.
So, better think thrice before acutally doing this....and read stories who feature the zips with a grain of salt...

Cheers

Once again, 50 Shades of Grey proves just how awful it is.

Zipties are ok for non strenuous positions, not good for hogties for example.

I've used them for simple bondage but not too tight as they dig in.

No harm trying them for something a bit different.

I agree that zip ties should not be used as handcuffs etc. - that is, they should not be around any part of your body.

They are perfect, however, to pull ropes tight (especially if you can use one hand only  ).

The stronger versions can even be used for a hogtie.

Btw they can quite easily be cut open by a good pair of scissors.

I say you can use them for a hogtie only if you are using wrist cuffs, can be used as a stricter method for hogtie if you don't want to use any rope or just want to quickly hogtie someone

I mean they are jagged pieces of plastic, unless you plan on playing a TUG where you do absolutely no struggling and just sit there like a lump its pretty clear what the end result of jagged plastic will be.

Zip ties hurt a lot, and I know this from practicing escaping from them, which is the only time I'd use them. You can somewhat lessen the marks if you wrap what you're binding with something like tape beforehand, although you'll probably still notice some imprinting in the skin for a few hours.

I would never recommend using them for any kind of bondage games, whether innocent or...adult.

With all of the work put into making a better fetish tape, you'd think security and police firms would make use of gentler technology for restraining people. Enough layers and it's just as effective as cuffs or zip ties.

Plastic cuffs police use are a little different from zip ties you buy at Home Depot or Lowe's. They don't have the "teeth" on the inside like zip ties do. They're probably still not comfortable to wear but the comfort of the person who's arrested is a secondary concern to the cops.

Did not know, good point. Safety should encompass the suspect's health and well-being though, because they are not yet guilty of any crime. Samurai would actually not fully tie suspects up in Feudal Japan, they would instead only wrap their prisoners enough to control them. They did not feel comfortable giving someone who was potentially innocent the "full treatment."

Nice to know we're just a small step behind feudalism.
