Exam Revision

On a dry and sunny Saturday morning, Paul was laid on the sofa watching television.
Paul was wearing a white-striped black ‘Adidas’ tee-shirt, which was not tucked into matching tracksuit trousers, and white socks with white-striped black leather trainers.
Lisa was in the kitchen stacking the dishwasher with their used breakfast pots.
Lisa wore a loose-fitting grey ‘Nike’ tee-shirt, which was not tucked into skin-tight faded blue cropped jeans with frayed edges, and white socks with Dunlop Green Flash white plimsolls.
Lisa closed the dishwasher and set it going. As she walked through the dining room and into the lounge, she paused in the doorway and paused at the sight of her brother in front. She didn’t really have any time to spend with her brother because she was busy studying for her final exams. With Paul’s best friend being away, he was at home and would probably get bored and become a pest. Lisa had an idea!
“Paul, I’m snowed under with uni work!” Lisa announced. “Would it be ok if I pegged you out for a little while?”
“I’m game!” Paul replied, switching the television off and getting up.
Lisa smiled mischievously as her brother went upstairs.
Spinning round, Lisa went out into the back yard and to the shed. She emerged a few seconds later carrying a mallet, four wooden stakes and four lengths of rope. Dropping the items on the ground by the shed, she hammered the stakes into the grass, forming a square of about two metres by two metres. Putting the mallet away in the shed, Lisa re-emerged and tied a length of rope to each of the four stakes.
“I’m ready, Flash!” Paul exclaimed, arriving as Lisa was tying the ropes to the stakes.
“Make yourself comfortable, bro!” Lisa exclaimed, gesturing the square. “I really appreciate this!”
Paul sat down in the square, facing the house. Laying full length on his back, he reached for the top two stakes with his hands.
Kneeling down on the grass, Lisa tied Paul’s ankles and wrists to the four stakes. When she had finished, her captive was stretched out in a spread-eagle position.
“How’s that?” Lisa asked, standing with her left foot on the grass and her right foot pressing firmly across Paul’s stomach, admiring her captive. “Tight enough?”
“Great!” Paul replied appreciatively, tugging experimentally at the unyieldingly tight ropes.
“See you in a bit!” Lisa exclaimed cheerfully.
Taking her foot off her brother’s stomach, Lisa walked into the conservatory and upstairs to her bedroom.

Lisa’s desk was under her bedroom window, and sitting at the desk, she had a clear view of Paul. Sparing him a quick glance, she opened her laptop and set it going. Lisa soon became so engrossed in her laptop and books that she forgot all about Paul.
Just under two hours later, Lisa stood up and stretched out. Catching sight of her brother as she did so, she giggled mischievously and left her room. She returned a few moments later with a glass of coke in her hand. Sparing her brother another quick look and a mischievous giggle, she sat down at the desk and resumed her studies.
About ninety minutes later, Lisa started feeling a bit hungry, and glanced over to the clock-radio on her bedside table.
“Thirteen twenty-six!” Lisa exclaimed incredulously. “I think its lunchtime!”
Picking up her empty glass, Lisa got up and went downstairs. Pausing in the kitchen to deposit the glass in the sink and put the jug on, she went outside to her brother.
“How ya doing, bro?” Lisa exclaimed cheerfully, standing with her left foot on the grass on Paul’s right side and her right foot pressing across his stomach.
“Just great, Flash!” Paul retorted. “How long?”
“Three hours and forty-two minutes!” Lisa replied, pressing a bit harder. “I’m getting a lot done. Are you ok for a little bit longer?”
“I could take all day!” Paul replied brashly.
“I might just take you up on that!” Lisa laughed mischievously.
Lisa lifted her foot off her brother’s stomach and went back into the house.

Lisa made herself a light lunch, and watched a music programme on television in the lounge while she ate it. Then she returned to her desk and her studies, sparing her brother a quick glance and giggle as she sat down at the desk.
“This day is just running away with me!” Lisa sighed looking up at her clock, which reported seventeen twelve.
Feeling hungry, she stood up and stretched out. Catching sight of her brother, Lisa laughed mischievously as she went to the bathroom, and then downstairs and out to her captive.
“Still with us?” Lisa asked cheerfully, standing with her left foot on the grass and her right foot pressing firmly across his stomach.
“Sorry to disappoint you, Flash!” Paul laughed teasingly. “Time?
“Twelve minutes past five!” Lisa replied, with a hint of admiration in her voice, as she pressed down harder on Paul’s stomach. “You’ve been there for exactly seven hours and twenty-five minutes!”
“I told you so!” Paul crowed triumphantly.
“OK, big shot!” Lisa challenged. “You said you could take all day. Here’s your chance. How about you staying there until midnight?”
“You’re on!” Paul replied instantly.
“Taking her foot off Paul’s stomach, Lisa laughed mischievously as she went back into the house.
Lisa made herself tea and enjoyed it. After such a hard but productive day studying, Lisa felt she had earned the night off. Making herself comfortable on the sofa, Lisa started watching television, completely forgetting all about her captive.
There was a half-hour gap between the end of a fashion documentary and a film Lisa wanted to watch, so she got up and went into the kitchen to get a drink and a snack. The kitchen clock reported twenty-one hundred hours.
“He’s a good sport!” Lisa giggled mischievously, standing in the conservatory doorway and looking out at her brother.
It was getting dark. Paul moved his head as he watched a squirrel.
“He’s ok!” Lisa exclaimed, giggling as she watched her captive.
Picking up her drink and snack, Lisa turned and went back into the lounge. Lisa watched the film and a serial, not giving her brother a second thought.

Lisa looked at the digital clock on the DVD player when the serial finished. It reported twenty-three fifty-seven.
“Time’s up!” Lisa exclaimed, picking up her pots and going into the kitchen.
After putting her pots in the dishwasher, Lisa loitered in the kitchen until the cooker clock read midnight. Switching the back porch light out, she went out into the garden and over to her brother.
“Time’s up, bro!” Lisa exclaimed cheerfully, kneeling down and untying Paul’s ankles. “Midnight!”
When Lisa had released Paul’s wrists, the boy sat up and gratefully rubbed the circulation back into his limbs. He was stiff and aching from being stretched out and tightly tied for so long.
“How long?” Paul asked, rubbing his wrists.
“Fourteen hours and twenty-eight minutes!” Lisa replied admiringly, helping her brother to stand up. “You’re certainly game!”
“I could take it till breakfast!” Paul boasted, as they walked back into the house.
“Would be interesting to try, but I’m not sure if I dare after that story from North Carolina!” Lisa replied reluctantly, in the kitchen making Paul his supper.
“He was stood up and in a heat wave!” Paul said. “You heard what the olds said. He was dehydrated, exhausted and suffered heat stroke. Besides, they’re Americans!”
“I know!” Lisa replied slowly. “We’ll think about it!”
Paul went upstairs to use the bathroom and get ready for bed. He came back downstairs and had his supper before going to bed.

What a FANTASTIC story!

Gemscot expressed concern to me that she didna do enough safety checks. He was in sight and sound of her at all times so I don't see any problem. What do others think?
