Shot My First Turkey

Shot my first turkey yesterday!
When that double barreled shotgun went off, it scared the crap out of everyone in the frozen food section.

It was awesome!
Gettin' old is so much fun.

Have you tried asking the help desk where they keep the tranquilisers and the sharp knives?

Double barreled shotgun? Psh, a real man attacks that turkey with his bare fists. As well as anybody trying to stop him.

Even if it was frozen, I wouldn't imagine there would be much left of that turkey fit for human consumption. :big:

I've never yet met a turkey that was fit for human consumption. The turkey is an American joke. It's just that we Brits haven't got it yet!

You should talk! Remember, I've been to England. I've seen some of the things you Brits eat!
I was served eggs with bloody embryos inside them with bacon that looked still half raw and bleeding!
(Shudder!!!) :worried:

Serve you right for eating as McDonald's!
I know, I know, an anachronism, just couldn't resist it.
Besides: being cured, bacon already counts as having been cooked. One can, in extremis eat it raw. I've not yet found a curer who can provide bleeding bacon but I live in hope.

Talking of which, how do you like your kidneys? (just to show you that I DO remember some things) May I recommend removing the cores then frying them lightly so that the blood seeps into the devil sauce. They should still be dark red on the concave side. Believe me: I’ve had requests for this breakfast dish from people who’ve already eaten it once!

Wasn't at Macdonalds but a British place near Big Ben itself!!

So I found out!!! :worried:

Had them in a pie, once, without knowing what it was. By coincidence I almost mentioned this incident too but deleted it.
You Brits have crazy notions of what constitutes food. Don't even get me started on blood sausage, blood pudding, et al!!!

In the words of Ash Latham, the "Squire" of Gorton Morris (they're from the rough end of Manchester in the hairy-arsed north of Englamd) when he saw Pilgrim Morris Men ( their friends from Guildford in the soft south) when he saw them dancing in the north-west style, complete with stereotypical northern symbols, including rounds of black-pudding (blood sausage): OK, you bastards can dance, but you can't make black pudding, though. He then ate an entire one raw.
