Roxas and Sora headed out into the edge of town, where the hole in the city wall led into the forest. They passed through the tranquil streets and even bought ice cream before coming upon the hole.
Roxas was very suspicious of Sora's go lucky attitude today but decided to play along as he followed his friend into the lush green forest.
Actually, he needed some time to relax, ever since he almost fell off the clock tower last week.
Roxas was pretending that the ledge of the clock tower was a balancing beam, and was showing off to his friends the handstands he could do. Despite their warnings, Roxas continued to show off and before long he lost his footing and slipped from the ledge.
"Crap!" Roxas thought, "I really wish I could fly!" And all of a sudden, as if some gust of wind blew upwards on poor Roxas, he found himself bounded towards the ledge. It was a short distance, but once he did, he grabbed hold of the ledge with his hand. His friends immediately brought him back up and no one spoke of it ever again.
Now, Roxas was at peace in nature, marveling at the tall trees and the relaxing sounds of...
"Wait... the forest is... quiet today, don't you feel it Sora?" Roxas said wondering.
"It's probably nothing," Sora said, "hurry up... you don't want that bear to catch up with you."
Roxas picked up the pace and before long they arrived at the mansion's gates.
"Ok," Roxas said, "we're gonna jump the fence on three... 1... 2...-"
"Or..." Sora said, "we could just slide through that huge hole in the fence." And so they did just that. Roxas found it surprising that Sora knew where that was, since it was hidden so well. Sora and Roxas continued up through the deserted front yard and went up the front steps.
At that moment, Sora pushed a doorbell.
"Hey! How'd you know where that was? And I don't think anyone's-" Roxas couldn't finish as the door opened up to a slim young man dressed in a white lab coat.
"Ahh, Master Sora, how nice to see you again. Please, come into the parlour with your friend" the mystery man said. "How do you do?" he held out his hand to Roxas, "my name is Terra."
The interior of the mansion was very dusty, Roxas couldn't believe that anyone could live in it. Also, how did Sora know Terra at all? As the boys entered the main chamber, the door closed behind them. Terra led them into the parlour, which was surprisingly not as dusty as the main chamber. Inside were two chairs with ornately carved legs and hand rests. "Please sit down," Terra said, "Master Xehanort will be meeting with you shortly."
Terra left the room as soon as the two sat down. "Ok Sora, " Roxas faced his friend, "what's going on?? You're hiding something from me."
"Ok, I'll tell you. It's amazing because-" but at that moment Sora was cut off when strange metal coils sprouted from the chairs they sat in and bound their wrists to their armrests and their legs to the legs of the chairs.
"What the-??" Roxas exclaimed. He tried moving but he couldn't budge from his bindings. "Sora, what's going on?"
"I don't know!" Sora shouted. "HELP!!"
Terra came back inside, along with another slim young man with white hair. He looked just a few years older than Terra and also wore a white lab coat. "Don't bother yelling," Xehanort said, "your voices are the only ones in this forest." He gestured to Terra. Terra walked over to behind Roxas' chair. He produced a piece of cloth and forcefully stuck it into Roxas' mouth. He then used a long bandana to keep it in place. He did the same thing to Sora. "That's so you don't interrupt me. Now like I said, don't bother: those coils are made on adamantoise skin and your mouths are suffed with a splash of Siren's water." (For those unaccustomed with Final Fantasy, adamantoise skin is one of the hardest substances in existance and Siren uses a spell that "silences" her enemies: basically, the boys are bound and gagged properly and cannot escape or talk).
"Terra," Xehanort said, and as he did, wheels sprouted at the legs of the boys' chairs, "let's bring them to the basement level."
"Yes sir." Terra said. And with neither boy able to resist, the two were placed in an elevator that sprouted in the corner of the parlour. As soon as they entered the basement level, the two were wheeled to a room near the elevator. As soon as both boys were placed, the room was shut.
For about a minute, the boys tried fruitlessly to escape, but to no avail. Then, all of a sudden, the coils retracted back into their chairs and Roxas and Sora jumped out of their seats and removed their gags.
"What happened?" Roxas said.
A telescreen turned on behind them and Terra and Xehanort were displayed. "Relax, Roxas," Xehanort said. "You're free to go anytime; these doors aren't locked, we just didn't want you two to hurt us as soon as we were down here."
"Then why abduct us?" Sora said. "You dudes came to me two days ago and told me to bring me and Roxas to the mansions because we had special powers!"
"What?" Roxas thought to himself, "What powers?"
"Well," Xehanort continued, "we needed your FULL cooperation in order for these experiments to work. Roxas, I'm sure you too are interested in why you didn't die two days ago..."
Roxas looked up at the screen.
"Xehanort, if we agree to help you in your experiments, are you going to use our 'powers'- so you say we have- for your own benefit?"
"Please, call me X, " Xehanort said, " and no. Your powers are yours to use; we just want to observe them to understand them more, as you want to also."
"Ok, "Roxas looked at Sora, "how about it? You're the one who dragged me here in the first place."
"I'm all for it!" Sora said with a smile, "so, what do you want us to do, X?"
X spoke, "Go into the room right across from you for our first experiment."
The telescreen turned off and Roxas and Sora exited the room they were in and crossed the hall to the opposite room. Inside, it was pitch-black, and as soon as they had both steppedd in, the doors shut and the lights switched on, revealing ten strange blue monkeys. They had yellow eyes and a crossedout heart on their chests. They were playing around with the things they had in their hands until they saw their guests. One monkey raised the rope he was holding, another his duct tape, and another her bandanas and clothespins... They all rushed towards the boys, five for each one.
"AHH!!!" the boys yelled as they were pounced to the ground by their primate captors. The monkeys took off their shirts and shoes and quickly stuffed one of each boys socks in each one's mouths (Actually, Sora came in sandals, so Roxas' socks were used for both boys). Their mouths were sealed with duct tape as the other monkeys continued to tie each boy's arems to their torsos and their wrists together. One monkey sat on Roxas' legs as another tied them together. Just for fun, the monkey holding Roxas down tickled Roxas' bare feet. Roxas wriggled around but the other monkeys held Roxas down so they could finish their tyingg. Then, one monkey brought Roxas' legs and arms together to form a hogtie, which wasn't exactly tight, but was still secure. Once the five monkeys were done with Roxas, they went over to help the monkeys hogtying Sora, who was putting up more of a fight than Roxas. Finally, once the ten monkeys were finished securing Sora, they gave him something to wriggle about since they caused them so much effort: the ten monkeys found a position and began tickling Sora in his exposed stomach, naval, armpits, feet, neck, and anywhere they could get their monkey fingers on.
Roxas started laughing at Sora's predicament when one monkey saw Roxas and took out her clothespins. Roxas began shaking his head back and forth signaling "no" and tried inching away, but two other monkeys came to help and held Roxas while the female monkey applied clothespins to each of Roxas' nipples. They gave a slight pinch, but were overall just a slight nuisance and not a giant pain. The three monkeys tickled Roxas more while the other seven monkeys played with Sora, applying and taking off clothespins that they put on him. At last, they just left them on as the door opened as X and Terra entered.
"Leave, please," X said, and the monkeys scampered away leaving the two boys exhausted. "I hope my servants didn't tire you out too much, "X smiled, "Terra, blindfolds." Terra walked over to each boy and placed a bandana over each one's eyes. Then Terra picked up Sora as X picked up Roxas. "Now," X said, "this is a test of both endurance and cunning. We are placing you in random areas in the room. Your objective is to escape -both of you - in the time limit. Don't worry if you fail, we'll release you after four hours... but then, I'm pretty positive that you'd want to get out quicker than that..." And with that, X placed Roxas on the floor as Terra put Sora down. "these clothespins are an extra 'pain' incentive to escape quicker, but your shoes were taken off so you wouldn't hurt my monkeys. Your shirts were taken off too so that the rope would stick more to your bodies as you sweat. Everything has a reason boys. Good luck, and we'll see you in four hours or less!" Terra and X exited the room and left the two boys to their predicament.
At first, Roxas attempted to escape his own bonds without help by reaching for a knot he thought would loosen his hogtie. However... when he pulled the last knot and pulled the rope, his hogtie became irrevocably tighter, causing Roxas to fall on his side. His hands almost reached the soles of his feet, and the hogtie became so tight that Roxas dared not to move in case it would tighten more.
Sora was in no better position. However, he decided to help Roxas by following his winces of pain to his body. Sora inched his way towards Roxas -which wasn't that far, about 2 meters - and mmpphed to signal that he was there. Roxas couldn't move or tell Sora about his predicament, so communication was limited as Sora tried to untie Roxas' wrists. Once again, Roxas' hogtie tightened, which persuaded Sora to stop trying to help. Roxas lay immobile as Sora rocked back and forth trying to loosen anything. X was right, the sweat they created was sticking the ropes to their body... and even worse: Sora had to pee.
About two hours passed where Sora and Roxas resigned to their fate and just waited for the four hours to be up. Sora was still holding it and noticed the strange sensation coming from his boxers. Roxas noticed it too, even when he was bounded to the chair earlier. Sora couldn't hold it, and soon enough, Roxas felt a wet spot creep up along his back. If he could have killed Sora at that moment, he probably would have.
Another hour passed without any progress. Sora had fallen asleep and Roxas was using most of his will power to try not to stretch out his muscles. However, for a moment, he forgot about his situation and stretched, causing pain to erupt in his arms.
'OUCH!" he thought, " why couldn't they leave us something sharp to free us??" But at that instant, a bright light shone in the room and Roxas felt something materialize in his hands. it felt small... he was amazed... He wondered what had happened and thought that it was unbelieveable... but then again, most of the day was unbelievable...
Roxas prayed and hoped and started using whatever was in his hands to cut his ropes... SNAP! Success!! His hogtie was broken! Roxas stretched his body out in relief. he subsequently freed his whole body and finally stretcched his arms wider than he thought possible. He took off his gag and took out his sock. he then took off his blindfold to see what had saved him: it was a small daggar-like item, but it had the shape of a key at its end. But in amazement, Roxas forgot to hear Sora's muffles and moans. Roxas snapped out of it and worked hard on freeing his friend. Finally, Sora was free and he spit out Roxas' sock and handed it to him. "Sorry for the droll..." he said. Roxas threw it aside and looked for his shoes and shirt. They were discarded in a corner of the room they were in. Once both boys were fully dressed (Roxas kep his wet socks in his pocket and just wore his shoes), the door opened revealing X and Terra, who were clapping at their success.
"Congradulations, boys, " X said, "it's been a long day, so you two just head on home for the night."
"Oh yeah..." Terra said, "by the way, we kind of fell asleep waiting so we forgot to free you after four hours... you were acually tied up for five hours instead... haha" Terra looked embarassed while Roxas and Sora eyed him with hatred.
"Calm down, boys," X said, "just go home and think about tonight's progress. Roxas, " he pointed at the daggar he held, "wonderful keyblade..."
