Please Prune Announcements

Postby Valimure » Wed Jun 14, 2017 1:38 pm

Title. I have to scroll past ten+ posts that are listed under announcements every time I want to view a forum on my phone. Limit it to maybe 4 or 5, please?

Suggest you chose "New posts".

That's a great temporary fix (albeit one that requires an extra pageload every time I do it), but it's on you guys to simply take care of the older announcements. There's one about a downtime from early last year, a short story contest winner from 2015, etc. that simply aren't needed and can be archived elsewhere.

Everything here shows up in every single forum I view. The only ones really needed right now are:

2017 Donations
Story Catalogue
Don't Email Us
Rules / Suspensions (Combine them into one post)

Second this! It's not a huge deal, but it does make the site a little difficult to use, especially on mobile.
Hey there! If you want to roleplay with me, your PM should be at least three sentences and describe what you're looking for. I'd also recommend reading my directory post ( ./viewtopic.php?f=6&t=29299#p229232 ).

I am going to disagree here. I just go to new posts. It's a great feature. Doesn't bother me one bit. :)

Here's another thought - with so many announcements, would another one even be noticed?

Maybe it's just my browser, but when I sign on, the newer posts (or subjects with new posts) are at the top, and usually have a little blue arrow next to them.

Naomi probaly has a point.
However, I still recommend starting at "New Posts"

Oh, and may I suggest that those who are complaining first visit the "2017 Donations" thread an get their hands in their pockets? Yes, I have been drinking!
