So who gets to decide what's offensive?

Some cabal of politically correct bubble-headed bureaucrats who would get bent out of shape over an airline counter attendant putting a tag that read "FAT" on a stout person's suitcase, without bothering to learn that "FAT" is the airport code for Fresno, California.

Anyway you look at it, it's another example of government bureaucracy getting out of hand; no better than banning super-sized soft drinks in New York. You can't legislate morality; if you try, then sooner or later you'll have something like Sharia law to put up with. We used to have blasphemy laws on the books here too, but eventually even the Christians who founded our country decided that they wouldn't put up with *that*!

At least the people of Brussels can no longer insult Islam and Muhammad legally. Any speech that results in rioting and burning down buildings is surely offensive.

That's your idea of progress, is it?
Good thing *I* don't live there; I'd give the authorities a &#$@&#@*!! earful!!!

Actually I was being sarcastic. I believe that freedom of speech is a natural right, and that you can never please everybody by what you say.

Actually I figured as much, :big: but generally find it safer to take what someone says at face value. In my experience people usually mind admitting being sarcastic when they were far less than they mind denying being sarcastic when they weren't.

What Brussel are we talking about anyway? Belgium Brussel or Euro Brussel.

And don't be a smartass and say they are the same city :big:

Can I be the smart ass that I am and say they are the same city anyway?

'Brussels, Belgium, wants everyone to be nice. And if not, it's going to cost you.'

I know many who are offensive inadvertently all of the time. Also, does this mean the Muslim religion is going to be banned from discussing Sharia law as it is offensive to women?
