Duct Tape restraint

You like to be restrained soley with duct tape?
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

Sounds fairly appealing so long as i am wearing some sort of clothing that keeps skin to tape contact low.

Not needlessly restrained, but I quite possibly would use strictly duct tape to tie someone up.

Duct tape is rather easy to escape, and pulls hair too much on its way off. That being said, it works pretty well for quick tie-ups, or I guess, tape-ups, if you don't mind the pain or wear something to cover your skin. I'd prefer rope though.

DT had a built in incentive for us years ago. It was usually used as a result of a house rule screwup. consequently it was applied direct. The worst was first a DT Jockstrap and then a wide spiral going down each leg and then up to and including the armpits. Then a t-shirt was applied, pulled down and a lock placed through pre made holes in the front til and back til under the crotch. Then tight fitting jeans with a chain instead of a belt which was locked in front and to the zipper pull as well. The worst was yet to come:
Depending on the "crime" (like not washing your dishes right away) you and your buddies went to a movie or out to dinner, etc.
The longer it was on, the tighter it got. Every move of the waist or the leg pulled on the skin or hair and because of your public location now, you had to fake it.
The punishment really began when all gathered after handing you the keys and watched you pull the tape off (with an appropriate amount of screaming and groaning of course). If they were going to be nice at this point, the let you into the hot shower first to take it off in there.
Very seldom was a "house rule" overlooked after that....
Have fun all....

There are clear pros and cons. It's good because it's tight, easy and fairly fast to apply and can allow for some more unorthodox techniques but is let down by residue, being single-use and being very bad if it gets on the wrong parts of the body.

I never seemed to have a big problem with having it removed, even though i usually wore little more than undershorts when taped up like a mummy. Either we used some cheapass tape or I simply sweat too much when confined, and usually it'd come off of me with little bother. The fact that I had little body hair as a teenager (in part because i am part Native American, I suppose) probably helped too.

normal duct tape doesn't really hurt that much coming off but gorilla duct tape hurts a lot and takes hair off with it. i really like using gorilla tape cause its very effective at restraining you (better than normal duct tape) but i regret it when i take it off. i also use normal duct tape a lot though, but you have to use a lot of it for it to become effective. i really like using tape cause it makes me feel like im kidnapped xD.
i'm 17, male, a bit of a computer geek, and love to be tied up :D

Do you use the Gtape instead of shaving too? :big:

I'd never even heard of gorilla tape when i was young, and probably neither did my Tugs partners of the time. It sounds like it was just as well.
This might sound like an offbeat idea to most of the males here, but I wonder if wearing pantyhose might not solve the problem of duct-taping the legs without worrying about body hair removal the hard way; or perhaps a set of leotards or something. I've never tried that myself but seems to me it'd serve as a lightweight way to avoid a 'sticky' situation when bound with gorilla tape.

I liked it more when I was younger, but as some others noted it can be fairly harsh on both the skin or any clothing it's used on. I still like it as a gag, but I've lost enough socks/jeans to it that I'd rather use other restraints I've gotten over the years.

You didn't know about it when you were younger because it's a fairly new thing.

Is it? Okay, that would certainly explain it... but the way guys like xtc talk it sounded like it's been around forever in some places and maybe was a British invention.
But you're right; I just Googled it and discover it's only been around since 2005; and it is manufactured in Ohio! :geek:

Join the ongoing discussion on the validity of duct tape as a restraint device;
http://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/com ... duct_tape/

Unlike the "it's as easy as raising your hands up and slamming them down" portrayals that have been floating around on youtube and even fox news," many of these redditors seem to know what it's like to be actually bound with tape, and not just "cosmetically" tied.

You actually got the impression these people knew what they were talking about? This is Reddit we're talking about, after all.

Yeah, though like all places, reddit has some intelligent contributors (maybe 5% of them). Some good points. Seems like the amount of passes the tape makes determines it's effectiveness.

Just a random meditation, is duct tape (in all of it's forms) the only material that can effectively tie AND gag by itself?

EDIT: btw, Andrea Canning from Dateline has taken another shot at escape techniques. Unfortunately they will mainly only work if your kidnapper learned his trade from Law and Order. They do show how most movie loosies would be countered.
