Ocarina of Time was the best in the Zelda series. Again, another N64 game. It was certainly one of my favorite systems of all time!

My best zelda's would be Majora's mask and wind waker. Majora's mask took what was great about Ocarina and added its own unique flavor, the most unique one of any Zelda. Wind waker just had so much charm i gladly overlooked any wrongs it had and its HD remake is gorgeous
I have a lot of fond memories of the N64. The two Zelda's, Lylat wars, DK 64, goldeneye, the original smash bros, Mario kart, Goeman and Banjo Tooie all gave me some wonderfull childhood memories. I do think that particular gen aged worse then the ones before or after.

New super mario bros WII-u and DK tropical freeze are games still with the same rock solid quality you expect from a Nintendo game. Its everything else that's causing trouble. Mostly their marketing which is kinda shit and their relationship with third parties is messed up.
They also can't compete with Sony and Microsoft in the long run. Those two are behemoth organisations dealing in all sorts of stuff. Nintendo just has games. I think that is the reason they do their own thing rather then partake in the graphic race, because they know they can only lose.
Chris12 wrote:Well, the third parties aren't blameless either. There's a consistent rumor going on that EA has a grudge against Nintendo because they didn't want their shitty origin service on the WII-U. I'd say EA has a bad enough reputation to make it pretty likely.
I also got the distinct feeling they didn't even try to support the WII-U and then blames Nintendo for their games not selling on it.
I was hesitant to buy the Wii-u as well until it got things that i wanted but always knew i would buy it eventually. Even if its just for Nintendo's own games because i wouldn't want to miss those games. Not buying a Nintendo console would cutt me off from to many series i like very much. Perhaps it would be better for them to go third party so people don't have to buy a console just for them...although maybe that would make it harder to keep focusing on niche stuff like fire emblem.
Luckily the 3ds is doing much better and also has plenty of gems on it. Most or my top 10 of 2013 came from the 3ds
They also have a habit of buying out successful studios and then kicking out the developers/etc. that made the studio successful
