who cares, he is our president, and that is how we will have to work for the next 2 years, with him as our leader. I don't care what people call him, in my opinion, any president that does more good than bad is (to my eyes) generally considered a success, and in my opinion, obama has been pretty successful on many things he set out to do, not all, but many

nearly every president out there has not been everyones favorite. Somehow George W. Bush just got constantly ridiculed. Being the President of the United States of America is the hardest position in our country. We as the people need to respect him and let him do the job he is capable of.

Obama is different than Bush, but different doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as better. That might have been something the people who thought change was good enough to think about before, but many people had a huge knee-jerk reaction and didn't think things through.

Supposedly jobs are being created. I don't really see much evidence of this myself.

And as for Medicare, that's been around since the 1960s.

You're talking about the whole health insurance thing that was passed. It doesn't take full effect until 2014, if I remember correctly. I know it's a few years down the road. Right now everyone's health insurance rates have just skyrocketed because of it.

Well, I probably shouldn't say everyone's but anyone I know with halfway decent coverage who I've heard discuss the issue has seen their rates shoot up at least 20% since all of that passed. It's pretty universal. There are already talks of companies waiting to drop their health coverage as soon as this thing goes into effect. No one wants to be the first to do it because it will bring a lot of negative publicity and make people mad, but as soon as one company decides to do it the dominoes will fall and they'll all start dropping it and pretty soon we'll all be on government-run health insurance, except for those who can afford private health insurance, which is pretty expensive and so it won't be a lot of people.

I'm a fairly conservative guy and Bush wasn't this evil son of Satan everyone made him out to be. He was just the target of the media that has turned into utter garbage. Plus an international community that is fed all the negative and none of the positive (I have yet to find 1 person out of the US that knew Bush tripled the amount of support for combating AIDS or poverty in Africa... embarrassingly enough I'm blanking on which).

The thing I love is all the liberals I know are seeing the media bludgeon Obama just as unfairly as they did with Bush and they're like "WTF MATE? Why isn't The One making the world perfect? Why does everyone hate Obama? Why aren't people overseas in love with the US?". All the media cares about is getting better ratings and as they've always said, good news doesn't sell. People around the world care about the US as much as Americans care about *random European nation*. No matter who our leader is, we're America just as no matter who the leader of France is, they'll always be France to the average person.

And by the way, to the non-Americans here, do you love America yet? Because Americans were promised you all would if we elected Obama. So do you? Can we add each other to our facebooks yet? <3

Just WHO are THEY saying this and what precisely did they say?
I haven't heard of nor found any such references to Obama anywhere but this thread (thiough I admit I don't watch the TV news anymore), and a Google search for Obama third Bush turns up nothing at all except Jeb Bush as being the third Bush.

Pardon MY Bad English, but THAT is the stupidest Goddamn thing I've read all day. Besides the idea of advocating killing *anyone* let alone the President of the United States, comparing Bush to Obama in any way is like comparing Woody Allen and Arnold Swartzenegger!

I haven't heard that term specifically, but I have heard comments of "this is Bush's 3rd term" mainly from liberals or especially moderates who voted for Obama thinking he was going to revolutionize the country, from what I can tell.

I agree that GB Jr. was hated more, thiugh perhaps not for the accent. The smarmy know-it-all attitide and that damned smirk of his didn't help either.
One major consequence of 911 that few people think of is the probability that, had it never happened, Bush Jr would probably have been just another mediocre and easily forgotten president by now and his legacy might have been a much less negative one. 911 is what gave Bush the opportunity to send us to Iraq and Afghanistan, inflict Homeland Security on us, and so on.
