Arthritis

Anyone else seem to have an early onset of arthritis in the jaw due to having been gagged by having socks and clothes shoved in their mouth?

This might be a condition known as temporomandibular joint disorder, or TMJ. It is something that one can have naturally, although I suspect that having one's mouth forced open to the maximum would do it no favors. I suggest you consult with a doctor.

I would second the option of TMJ before arthritis. The first can be likened to a pinched or damaged nerve while the second one is like a degeneration of bone matter in a joint. In any case, see a doctor is very sound advice in any TMJ suspect problem. Let us know how it works out Alex. Good luck.

Alex -- go back to the Dr. especially a neurologist, as TMJ is a nerve damage issue. If it is getting worse, it needs medical care right away.

Let us know how you are doing later. We care about you.

Good luck. I have a bulged disk in my lower back and arthritis in my upper back, plus nerve damage in some areas but I was an Army Mechanic for quite a while to. I always wondered if it had anything to do with tugs since I never did much else that could affect it at such a young age. I was 27 when my problems started and I'm 34 now. I still do plenty of it though so hopefully everything goes ok for you.

hard to tell. Several different kinds / causes of Arthritis. Ruling out genetic, unless you spent a lot of time on the rack and grew 3 inches as a result or were hogtied tightly over a long period of time, I would bet more on the mechanic. It is repetitive motion that can aggravate arthritis (a calcification in the bone joints) and nerve damage can result from pressure and a physical damage to the nerve.

Maybe you can get the A to help out?
