Getting rid of the competition

For those of you unfamiliar with forensics, it's a speech and debate competition.

Part I
Charlotte grinned mischievously at her friend as she reapplied her lipstick. "Can you believe it, Elle? I seriously did not expect to break finals."
Elle just waggled her eyebrows. "Well considering you're not the only one who broke.."
Charlotte giggled. "I know! I'm so nervous about competing against Winston. He's so good, and he's such a sweet guy. Just the other day when we were tal-"
"Of course you were talking." Elle cut her off. "He so likes you!"
Charlotte just smiled. "Well, I better go. Finals start in five minutes, and they're on the other end of the building."
Elle straightened the collar of Charlotte's blouse, and brushed some of her dark hair out of her pale face. "You look lovely, dahling. Kick ass!"
Charlotte grinned and walked out of the bathroom.

The hallways of the high school were surprisingly quiet. One wouldn't normally expect a high school to be loud on a saturday, but it was the final forensics tournament of the year, and there were several hundred students competing. But as Charlotte rounded the corner, she was surprised to see Winston just staring vacantly at a poster.
"Aren't you supposed to be at finals?" She smiled. Charlotte had liked Winston for quite some time. They were very similar, both relatively geeky in their own ways, and he was an incredible romantic. They had competed against each other in finals at nearly every tournament for the past year.
Winston turned around, apparently shocked. "Char!" He exclaimed. "Hey... there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
"Yes..?" Charlotte walked a little closer to the taller boy. "What's up?"
"I.." Winston scratched his head embarassedly. "I really like you."
"I like you too, Winston." Charlotte said back, barely believing what she was hearing.
Winston leaned over, pushed her against the wall, and kissed her. Charlotte went so lightheaded at this unexpected response that she barely noticed Winston saying "Also, I can't let you beat me again." into her ear. Of course, she did notice when he started to wrap duct tape around her wrists.
"Winston? What are you do-" Charlotte's panicked cry was cut off by a clean, dark purple hankerchief being shoved into her mouth, and duct tape plastered over it. He paused momentarily to look at her. "I'm sorry, Char. I really do like you. But I also really like winning, and you're my biggest competition. Think of it as a compliment."
Charlotte mmphed helplessly as he proceeded to wind the duct tape around her ankles, and then right above her knees, over the skirt of her suit.
"You know.." Winston said, as he picked her up. "You look pretty cute like this. I might have to kidnap you more often." He carried her over to the closet in the hallway, and opened the door. He placed her gently down on the floor of the closet.
"It's okay. I'll be back after finals." He smiled lovingly at her and shut the door of the closet.
They used to tie you up!
It's a living
I didn't recognize you without the handcuffs
