Werewolf and Hunter

The wind rushing into her face and pushing back her hair as she barreled down the hill caused a dog grin to split apart her lips. As her large paws pushed her toward the village at top speed, she could see the softly glowing lights growing, the shady outlines of houses following suit. It was a simple enough concept-- the village housed the largest amount of hunters in the whole area if Canada, and their pack saw them as both a threat and challengers. Her mission was to wipe them out and take their children as both a trophy and to convert to the greatest hunters of all. Of course, she wasn't doing this alone--no, though she had rather. Two Omegas galloped alongside her, eyes large with innocence and excitement. She knew from experience after experience that one of those things would soon turn to blood lust.

The wolf maiden was pulled out of her thoughts as she heard the first cry of alarm from one of the few guards posted outside, who looked as though he might faint as he barreled to the first door, waking the half the unprepared village with his vicious banging.

The grin widened as adrenaline pumped through her veins, making her heart beat at a pace that would have been dangerous for a human. She raised her head and let out a shrill howl, the novices at her flank following suit. Three more howls echoed in the distance on the other side of the town, and she could almost taste the fear in the air as she pounced on the first guard--the first kill of the night. He was dead in a matter of seconds, and she was moving on to the next one before she heard the first gunshot, whizzing by the ear of one of her accomplices, who yelped and took no time in turning to retreat back into the woods. Damned new bloods... her mind growled along with her throat. A true predator of the wild would've never retreated! As she launched at the woman who'd fired the shot, she saw the other novice go down out of the corner of her eye, hearing his whine as his leg collapsed under him, broken in two. Before she had a chance to finish off the woman, she saw a large gun held by two of the villagers aimed at her. It launched something into the air that hit her square in the face, knocking her off the terrified woman. She felt a terrible burning pain on her pelt and thrashed about, but the net, as it appeared to be, held her down well with iron weights at the end of each of its four corners. For inexplicable reasons, she felt her strength draining rapidly as the burning slowly eased. For the life of her, the powerful wolf was unable to lift the net or break through the fine webbing that created it.

She watched with helpless fury as the remaining wolf was shoved into a cage like a common animal. The cage must have been made of the same material as the net because the trapped things whimpers increased as it curled up into a ball in defeat, which once again caused her anger to rise as she watched him admit losing so easily, and began to fight harder, as the pain had increased once again. Her back strained up as far as it could go, her fingers grabbing the webbing as she tried to rip it apart...but then something mildly terrifying and abnormal occurred to her. fingers? She froze, realizing that when the pain had increased, it must have been her body readjusting. To confirm her suspicions, she looked toward the cage and saw a teenage boy curled up inside trying to hide his private parts and the bullet in his leg instead of a wolf. But this was impossible--she hadn't willingly transformed at all! What was this?! Suddenly, the cold of the night hit her bare body and a shiver ran down her spine, spilling dark brown hair into her face, but instead of fear, she just experienced anger, like any other confused and defeated animal would. She bared her teeth at the people standing about them and gave a menacing growl that caused some of the women to squeal. Though she won't admit it, when she thinks back on this, she realized it hadn't been her best idea, as the next thing that happened was the sound of a gunshot and the sharp pain of something thin and pointy piercing one of the cheeks of her posterior, causing her to let out a very wolffish yelp and jump a bit. Darkness seeped into her vision mere seconds later and she was soon unconscious.

(Thanks Jamie ^^)

The smell of herbs were what woke her from the less-than-peaceful sleep, the pounding in her head causing her to subconsciously groan as her head was raised with difficulty, as it was much heavier than she remembered it being. Like any waking person, she stretched--well, attempted to. She was stopped by cold cylinders that refused to allow her wrists, ankles, and upper thighs to move more than a wiggle. This new realization caused her to snap to attention, her head turning agonizingly slowly to look at her surroundings. The first thing she observed was the fact that wherever she was, it was dark. Pitch black, in fact, which made her heartbeat pick up at double the speed. She allowed a small whine to escape her lips. She wasn't afraid of the dark. No, not even close. It was the fact that usually, she would be able to see anyway that scared her. She'd never been able to see anything darker than grey, because her wolf blood would usually allow her to have night vision of sorts. Of course, she could still see a bit, but not nearly as much as usual. The fact that she didn't know what was around her made her fight the strange metal cuffs more, causing the cloth on her body to rub against her skin and making her come to another conclusion.

They'd put clothes on her. Actual clothes. Normally, someone in her position would be glad for this, but it just caused her to let out a long scream of utter fury and indignation that they had dared to put such humbling things on her and thrash harder, feeling extremely weak, derived of the strength she naturally possessed as well of the strength that accompanied being a demon wolf. The effects of the humans' net must have still been affecting her.

Her temper tantrum must have woken whatever was in the room with her, as she heard the startled grunt of something nearby, then frightened whining and sniffling, as if whatever it was was crying. It didn't take her long to realize what--who it was, as even without the abilities of her huntress blood, she could recognize any of her pack members; it was the newbie. What was his name...she never really bothered to learn--once you become one with your pack, they know you by scent, not by name. The oldest had forgotten their names, in fact.

Next, she heard the rattling of bars, bringing her to the deduction that he must've still been in his cage. She wasn't able to draw anything else from her surroundings, however, as she was distracted by the sound of footsteps above and a door being pushed open, causing her to struggle even more frantically and push against the stone thing she was trapped against. There was no way she was going to get out in time, though, and the helplessness was overwhelming as the footsteps entered the room and a torch was lit directly across from her, causing her to cringe away from the light.

The glow cast a soft orange across the room, showing that they were in a dungeon or basement of sorts, with poles sticking out from the ground and shackles on the walls. It made her shudder and withdraw into the thing that was keeping her up, which appeared to be an X of stone. If she looked around the room, she would see other structures that looked about the same, differing between Y, X, and I. Next to her sat the cage that contained the boy, who's leg was dressed and patched up, which explained the herbal smell that reached her nostrils. He, also, was covered by a tunic of sorts.

She noticed the person who'd entered last. His figure was outlined against the light, making it hard to distinguish the features on his face, causing her to squint at him. His body type was easy to see, however. He had lean muscles, and was very tall, with shaggy hair that reached the middle of his ears, seeming to be a younger man, as his shoulders weren't stooped at all. Maybe in his mid twenties.

"I see you are awake." His deep tone held the sarcasm that usually accompanied a human's voice, though it was in stronger amounts that made her realize that it was being directed towards her.

In response, she let out a growl through clenched teeth and jerked at the metal that encircled her wrists, which just caused him to laugh lightly as he moved to check on the boy in the cage, who shrank away from him with a frightened whimper, though the man simply responded by grabbing him by his good leg and dragging him closer for better inspection.

The werewolf observed this carefully, forgetting about the cuffs for a moment as she watched his strange gentleness. Why didn't these humans just kill them? A real hunter would, after all. This man was obviously a wimp, she decided, and sniffed disdainfully, which drew his attention to her.

"Something you would like to say, wolf-dame?" He asked, knowing full well she would not answer. The villagers were somewhat knowledgeable of the werewolves, knowing that even the ones who knew the human tongue considered it something disgusting and demeaning to speak. Not even the lowest would dare.

So since she was quiet, he slowly walked closer. He'd never touched a werewolf before--he hadn't even seen one before this night. But as he reached out and ran a finger down her cheek, practically mesmerized, her head snapped to the side and her teeth closed on his finger. Her being a carnivore, of course her teeth were sharp, and drew blood immediately, causing him to shout in alarm and snatch his hand away.

A smirk grew on her face at this tiny triumph, watching as his temper rose until he was at the point where you could almost see the steam spurting out of his ears. At the sight of her smugness, it kind of just poured over the top and he ran over to a table, grabbing something from it and walking back over to her. She caught a glimpse of it and noticed that it was made of the same material as the clasps before he raised it and forced it between her teeth. It was shaped as a cylinder, and was placed in sideways. He held it in with a finger as she tried to shake her head back and forth to get it out and circled around back of her, securing the rope attached to it at the back of her neck, not bothering to pull her hair out of the way first.

Immediately, she noticed that it pinched at the corners of her mouth, and let out a whine of indignation, which seemed to satisfy him. "Teach you to bite," he growled, mostly to himself, as he gave her hair a sharp tug to act like a period to his point. After having done this, he basically stormed back up, slamming the door behind him. She heard a key turning in the lock and let out a sound of distress, not really realizing that she could be far worse off than her current predicament.

As if to remind her he was there, the boy in the cage said aloud, "You probably should not have done that, ma'am. He was very nice before."

This didn't exactly help, though, as she growled at him through the metal. When she escaped--because she would escape--that idiotic teenager was not welcome back to the pack.

(Sorry if its choppy. I'm just writing this as I go so I'm not doing any editing :x )
