Introduction -

This is a fictional story that i thought of recently, but have only just now got around to writing.
Basically, it's about a contest between a boys' school and a girls' school.
The two schools are rivals, and one particular event kicks off a challenge.

Guess who wins?

Part 2 -

It was 11:20 on a Wednesday morning.
Class 9B was sitting, bored, in an English lesson.
Mrs. Mathers, an elderly woman who had little control over her class, had put them all into groups and told them to improvise a scene.

The group of girls by the windows, however, weren't concentrating on that.
Thirteen year old Natalia was sitting on a desk, her feet propped on the windowsill, as she stared over at the next school over.
She was looking through another window, where the boy she had a crush on sat.
His name was Aaron. He was sweet, kind and funny, and Natalia loved him.
Just a shame that their schools weren't mixed.

Natalia's friends were sitting around her.
Sara, as usual, wasn't saying much.
Nina was sitting on the same desk as Natalia, and was peeking out the window with a smirk.
Lily was sitting on the windowsill itself, trying to wave to get Aaron's attention.
When Natalia saw that, she blushed.
"Stop! He'll notice!"
Lily turned around, confused. "Yeah, but you want that, right?"
Natalia flushed even redder. "No! I'm not ready!"
"You'd better be," Nina said with a smile. "Because he's looking this way."

Natalia squeaked and ducked down.
"What's he doing?" she asked.
Lily smiled. "He's waving back at me. Come on up, Nat."
Together, Nina and Lily pulled Natalia up to the windowsill.
She looked over and there he was - sitting at the window, waving at her.
Natalia giggled slightly and waved back.
She tucked her brown hair behind her ear and smiled over at Aaron.
Then, to her delight, Aaron made a phone gesture with his hand.

She nodded eagerly and stifled a giddy squeal.
The excited faces of Nina and Lily indicated they were as pleased for her as she was for herself.
Even quiet Sara had stood up and was smiling.
Everything was perfect.

Then suddenly two other boys were on either side of Aaron.
One, a handsome, tall blonde boy, ruffled his hair.
The other pointed out the window and blew the girls a kiss.
Lily made a disgusted noise and pulled Natalia away.
Natalia was distraught that her little conversation with Aaron had been interrupted, but the other girls seemed angry.
"Those boys have been taking liberties for too long!" Nina said angrily.
"The catcalling was one thing," Lily said. "But now they do it every day. And they do it to the Year Sevens! How disgusting is that?"
Even Sara was venting her anger. "They don't see us as people, they see us as objects."

"The boys from that school are all the same," Nina snarled. Then she glanced at Natalia. "Ok, maybe not every boy, but the vast majority..."
Natalia sighed. "Poor Aaron. If those are his friends, he must feel very lonely."
Nina and Lily exchanged a look.
Natalia noticed. "What is it?"
Lily sighed. "Sara, tell her."

Natalia looked at the quiet girl.
Sara, uncharacteristically, flushed red. "I, uh...I was spying on Aaron for you, trying to see if he was single, you know. And...well, I saw him with a girl."
Natalia felt her heart leaden. It would be so unfair if he was taken already...
Sara saw her dismay and held up her hands. "You shouldn't worry, Nat. I studied their body language, and I'm almost certain they're just good friends. I just...I thought I should tell you, so you don't get your hopes up just to have them dashed."
Natalia took a deep breath. Ok, so Aaron was probably still available. That was good.
"Why is there a girl there anyway?" Lily asked. "It's a boys' school."
Sara smirked. "Headmaster's daughter. She's privately schooled there. Away from all the pervs."
The girls all laughed.
"Poor girl," Nina said. "Alone in a sea full of sharks."
An odd smile crossed Sara's face.
"Oh, I think she can handle herself," she said.

Part 3 -

Sara had good reason to be confident in the mystery girl's abilities.
After all, she had seen what happened the previous day...

Mia had come to school in her dad's car, as usual, but had got out around the corner in the hope of not being seen as a daddy's girl.
She received enough unwelcome attention already from her male classmates, and it would be even worse if they focused on her status as the headmaster's daughter.

It was there that she always met her best, and perhaps only, friend.
Aaron.

Mia had clicked with him immediately.
She had known he was different from the majority of her classmates, who either ignored her or stared at her.
Instead, Aaron had tried talking to her.
They had hit it off and now they spent every free moment they had together.
Mia often asked herself if she "liked" Aaron, but she wasn't sure.
She knew she loved him, but whether that meant she was "in" love with him, she didn't know.

Her confusions were swept from her head when she heard her name being called.
She turned and saw Aaron standing there, smiling.
She smiled back and hugged her friend.
"Hey, Aaron," she said warmly.
Aaron pulled back and brushed a hand through her recently-dyed hair.
"Green?" he asked. "Why green?"

Mia shrugged self-consciously.
"I don't know really. Just wanted to be different. Stand out."
Aaron put an arm round her. "You shouldn't worry so much. Similar or different, plain or random, you'll still be my friend."
Mia felt her cheeks flush. "Oh, shush," she said.
But she couldn't hide her smile.

Five minutes later, the two of them were sitting together in the school courtyard, waiting for school to start.
Aaron had been telling her about a girl he liked at the girls' school next door, and Mia had been giving him the best advice she could.
But then, they were rudely interrupted.

"Hey, you're the headmaster's bitch, ain't you?"

Mia's head snapped up and she looked at the speaker.
He was a big boy, tall and broad-shouldered.
A sneer was plastered on his face.

Aaron, brave idiot that he was, stood up.
"Shove off," Aaron said. "She doesn't want to talk to you."
The boy shrugged and for a moment Mia thought it was over.
But then he pulled back his fist and slugged Aaron in the stomach.

There was a collective gasp by the surrounding crowd.
Mia stared as her best friend fell to the ground, clutching his stomach.
The big boy moved in to finish the job, but Mia stepped forward so that she stood protectively over Aaron.
"Leave. Him. Alone."

The crowd fell silent, except for the big boy's laughs.
"What are you going to do, girly?" the boy mocked. "Give me some makeup tips?"
Mia smiled. "You certainly need them, but no."
She tensed her left leg and then brought her right leg around and caught the bully in the face.
He fell backwards, shocked and surprised.
Mia followed that with another kick between his legs, though she made sure it was hard enough to hurt, but soft enough as not to damage him.

As the boy scuttled off, trying not to cry, Mia knelt by her friend.
"Aaron!" she said, almost crying. "Aaron, can you hear me?"
"Mia," Aaron said. "Mia, that was freaking awesome."
Mia laughed through her tears. "Oh shut up. I'm getting you to the nurse. Come on."

She helped Aaron up and began leading him to the school's nurse.
In the meantime, her brain whirred.
She couldn't report their attacker because she had hurt him just as much as he had hurt Aaron.
So they would just have to maintain a silence.
But a small part of her was proud that her karate lessons had paid off.

Lessons that Aaron had encouraged her to take.
Lessons that she practiced on him in their free time.
Lessons that had saved him.

Part 4 -

Sara finished telling her friends what she had witnessed while spying that day.
There was a moment of shocked silence.
Then Lily smiled.
"Good for her! It's great that she can show those boys to respect her!"

Natalia nodded in agreement.
"I only wish we could do the same..." she said with a sigh.

A glint lit up Nina's eyes.
"Maybe...maybe we can!" she said.

The others stared at her, agog.
"How?" Natalia asked eagerly.

Nina smiled slightly.
"A boy's biggest flaw is his ego. Let's challenge them to some sort of contest. The losers become the winners' slaves."
Lily winced.
"I don't want to be any boy's slave!"
"You won't be," Nina assured her. "We'll win. Trust me. Now, I just have to get a message to the boys. A place where they can't withdraw."

Natalia's eyes lit up.
"I know! I'm going to try and meet Aaron after school. We could intercept them as they leave their school gates. Everyone will see."
"Genius!" Lily exclaimed. "This sounds like a plan!"
