Kim Jong-Il, dead at 69... woohoo!

Postby staythirstymyfriends » Sun Dec 18, 2011 10:44 pm

Check it out on the wire, folks... the scourge of North Korea is dead. Great news, but his son is expected to take over, and he's inexperienced and spoiled. Let's hope stability remains on the peninsula while forces for democracy prevail against this 27-year-old kid and his cabal.

To a free North Korea... may Kim Il-Sung and Kim Jong-Il rot in Dante's pit of ice...
Is it any different to be tied up vs being tied down? One of the great things about English, its flexibility :p

So the ''Great leader who could walk at the moment he was born, singlehandedly won a war before he was even an adult and who has the biggest Donald cdunk collection in the world!'' could die after all, who would have thought

This could mean trouble since N Korea will now have a huge power vacum, For all we know some insane general will rebel against that son and will try to nuke the south.

The fictional book has already been written about these events. Now just time to watch and see if most come true or not. I myself believe that South Korea will infiltrate North Korea during one of its famine induced riots and demonstrations and cause an overthrow of their government. Don't think so? Read "Battle Born" by Dale Brown and judge for yourself.

I feel like the new regime taking over will be just as ruthless unfortunately.

Considering the crazy stuff it was claimed he did, I'm surprised they didn't say he opened the golden stairway to heaven and went on to be the Dear Leader of heaven. On an international scale, North Korea is a much more dangerous country than Iran or others that make the news. They already have nuclear weapons and, at least while under Kim Jong-Il, they (government) didn't give a damn about what anyone thought of them. People joke about Americans not knowing where other countries besides Canada and Mexico are, but they was the North Korean government acted, it was as if there weren't other countries, because North Korea apparently has a lot of 'world bests'.

Other North Korea craziness;

There is a propaganda town near the border with South Korea. It is uninhabited aside from some actors paid to walk around it all day to give it the look of life. All the buildings are hollow and loudspeakers constantly broadcast how much 'better' North Korea is.

Kim Jong-Il issued a campaign where leaflets were saying there was a cure to shortness and to contact a place. Anyone who did contact was shipped to an uninhabited island, so only 'superior' genes would exist. A similar thing was done for those with disabilities.

Not craziness, but the only reason North Korea exists today is because the Chinese got nervous that NATO would attack China after conquering North Korea during the Korean War. So the Chinese launched attacks on NATO troops and pushed them back south, to where the current borders exist. Wonder if they ever regretted that decision.

Also, Kim Jung-Il never needed to poop.

On a more serious note, since I have no idea about North Korean politics (does anyone really?) who knows what this time is like? Some have said it is like how the UK was when Princess Diana died. Except that was genuine grief for her while this is likely 'if I don't fake some tears quick I'll be shot' type grief.

Let's hope that north korea won't lick the US' ass. I hope China oder Russia help them if needed.

Just as China and Russia have failed to do for the past 66 years?
I have a feeling that the vast majority of destitute, oppressed citizens of North Korea would be quite happy to "lick the US's ass."

Uhhh yeah. Let's just keep in mind that the Cold War is most decidedly over. Russia and China are pretty much irrelevant in this situation. North Korea can best be described as a rogue state and unfortunately a nuclear armed rogue state. Kim Jong Il varied very little from the precedent set by his father and I can't say I expect anything different from Kim Jong-Un, that kid has been indoctrinated with his father's politics from the day he was born. In North Korea I expect more of the same.

As far as the Nuclear Weapons go, I'm not losing any sleep over it. I say this because Kim Il-Sung was a bit like NIkita Khruschev in the sense that he was a master of political bluffing. Dramatic gestures to frighten one's opponents into respecting them. North Korea going nuclear was probably a bluff like this. This dynasty may be crazy but they're not suicidal. If they so much as thought about using it, they would have ICBMS coming at them from every direction. It's a deterrent against South Korea not an offensive weapon. What does scare me is the possibility of the really crazy elements in North Korea seizing the Government and launching it into the South just out of spite.

You know I wouldn't have a problem with Nuclear Weapons if the trigger wasn't always in the hands of an idiot.
There's a permanent tension in music isn't there? On one hand you have three chords, you know, four four and three chords. Then there's the people like me, who say "Well, why don't we add a fourth chord and put it in five four?" - Bill Bruford

AMEN to that Sarah . What you all fail to realize is that technically we are STILL at war with North Korea sure there was a cease fire proclaimed back in 53 but the hostility still remains ask anyone who's done a tour over there. you go up along the border they WILL shoot at you. We've been known to fire back a time or two as well nothing more though than just small arms.
The North Koreans that's another story. They will and have tried to provoke us some times on a weekly basis you just dont hear about it because either its not news worthy or something bigger is happening like one of the Cardacians getting pregnant who knows . You know how the news media is.

All I know is that they have lived a certain way for so damn long its the only way they know, like Sarah said. Given the chance, they'd love to be able to go do what they want, be able to speak their mind without having to worry if they will see the next sunrise.
