School starts tomorrow

Postby NemesisPrime » Wed Sep 03, 2014 7:30 am

Ahhh the post-summer vacation blues. I know the feeling.

Actually why not call some members of the board to "make it offical"? ;)

As a retired teacher, I thought I'd just go and sit in the bus-stop looking smug. Serve the little b****** right!

Some of us wish we had a summer

Every time I go past my old school I feel an incredible sense of relief that I'm in my 20's and therefore no longer legally obliged to spend a second of my time within that grim compound.

I realise that doesn't help. Man I hated school.

It's always tough, to go back to school/work, after a long break. :(

But, once you have been back for a few days, it's like you've never been away. :)

Thank you, Kimmi, but over the Pond is a long way to go for hot cocoa.
Break a leg for the new school year (if that translates into American).

I hear ya bro. I drive past my old high school constantly and I'm glad that I never have to go back there since I graduated in 2010 except to pick up my brothers who now attend there.

Wimps. Before global warming, on the first day of school I had to trudge thru snow up to my knees....and that was in Florida.

The greatest change when you finish college and enter the workplace is this lack of "difference" when summer hits. It's still work everyday, except it's hotter.

So enjoy the feeling of having to "return" to something!

I taught also. Think there is room for 2.
I have great empathy for these young'ens and am constantly thinking of them --- as i make my way to the beach here in Hawaii to recline on the sand near the gently lapping waves. Awwww. Sniff, Chortle.

You should find someone in public school that love tugs and annoy them to a point where they want to tie you up and torture you. That would make your day.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

i'm in the UK and i'm in year 12 (post16) and doing A levels now. i want a job with computers, the subjects i chose were computing, maths, physics, and geography. im finding computing and geography quite easy but the other 2 are kind of hard. doesn't help that i haven't done maths since end of 2013 (long story).

i got a B at GCSE maths but i was 1 mark off an A so i know i can be good at maths. in physics at gcse i got a B. in computing i got an A. in geography i got a C. i really want to do well cause if i don't i can't go to university. my older brother messed up his a levels, and let's just say i'd hate to be him. so i really want to do well.

what's good though is that since i'm in post16 we don't have to wear uniform (yes the UK has uniform at schools, i know its really stupid), and we get free periods so i can go to the park or the shops.

but yeah some stuff i'm finding difficult :(. hopefully i do well otherwise my life from now on is basically ruined. so yeah that's how schools going for me.
i'm 17, male, a bit of a computer geek, and love to be tied up :D

Just because your exams preclude you from university there, you can still attend university in the USA. Our medical graduates are still called "Doctor." Don't EVER give up. Always look for another way and you will find it. I did.

I hated maths and science. Got enough to enter a uni and studied English Literature.
