Heavy metal, power metal, thrash metal, death metal, nu metal.
I also like some classical and trance, but don't expect me to remember song names in that area :P
Also probably some other things that don't exactly fit in these specific categories (mainly other types of rock and metal. I love electric guitars XD)

Mostly classic rock and one hit wonders from the 70's and 80's. To me Aerosmith is the best rock band ever. I could list all the groups I like but it would be an ongong list.
Fav female singer is Jewel, love Stevie Nicks and the list goes on.
Treat others as you wish to be treated. Having said that I will not sit idly by while someone is disrespecting another just because they think they are better than everyone else.

I like the music you'll hear on skateboarding demos. I have a friend who's in a band tho, and he'll talk about music all day if you let him. I owe him big time, so here's his music myspace page. www.myspace.com/projectfreelancer. His music is awesome.

Music is my life, I play guitar in a metal band. I'm pretty much there with Nuclearo, thrash and melodic death metal being my favourite sub genres.

What are some of your fave bands Nuke?

Yeah. Let´s have a little cultural exchange. :)

I was born in the mid 60´s so you can probably guess my favorite type of music. My favorite saying is: "I grew up in the wake of Woodstock, so..."

I´m not American so I didn´t get to go though. :)

I dont have a favorite band or song. I´m not into hitlists because I dont care what my neighbor buys. Music is about how your heart and soul reacts not which group of people you want to belong to.

Apart from old American rock I like the music of my own country although you guys have infiltrated it so that it now sounds more American than It did before the invention of the net. A few examples:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA9BOZR1mfE This is from my country

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4Y95lWqbAY This one i a cover by somewoman from my country

This is what my native tongue sounds like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUGA88UANHs

finally one of the best pieces of fairlyy recent rock music to come from my neck of the woods:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eclMypNggQQ

Man, I love music.

TUG, you´re it. :)

Volbeat! Right on! I saw these guys open for Metallica a few months ago, they were rockin!

I think I like Volbeat! My friend was telling me about them before!

Can't beat a good few Indie type bands. The Smiths and Morrissey are utterly Godlike.

Metallica.

Have you heard this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjkL4nWXJyI

Doubt you like it. I do. In my opinion Metallica is more than a band. It´s almost a religion.

Metallica should have asked these guys instead of Volbeat though:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuRVVkqVqx0

Bet then they´d been outstaged though. :D

Those guys are from "my woods" as well.

What kind of bands do you have in your "woods"?

Big bands that came from my area (within an hour away):

CKY (Best Band Ever!)
Breaking Benjamin (all my friends love them)
Poison

and 2 local bands that kick @$$

Project Freelancer
Onset Of Demise

Re: Any Music Lovers Here?

Postby Nexus » Sat Feb 06, 2010 10:04 pm

CKY are great indeed.

My area is not home to any big music acts, there are plenty of great local acts though.

Sounds like their music is pretty good, but is there any chance of them recording the first one with proper equipment? Even without video. I just can't listen to it like this because to keep my speakers from drilling my head I have to bring it down to a level I can't make out the sounds :\

I think they're going to the studio soon, and they have a huge concert in 3 weeks in my hometown, so that should be good.

for jazz, i would recommend anything by sammie nestico like "rachael" which is james bond-esque
big band jazz, definitely gordon goodwin like "jazz police" very catchy

classic rock: the doors, the who, led zeppelin

i know most indie rock bands suck, but The Academy Is and This Providence are absolutely amazing.

i listen to almost everything but rap, so lemme know and we can talk music more

I dig everything from Woody Guthrie, Tchaikovsky, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Stooges, The Clash, Love, KIng Crimson, Chopin, George Harrison,.....

I could go on but I wouldn't want to bore anyone. My father and I own a vinyl collection that reaches nearly 4,500 pieces.
