Best Type of Rope for Bondage?

Postby BoundSub » Sat Dec 17, 2016 6:52 pm

I recently went to Home Depot and picked up some new white Nylon rope but when using it for bondage it didn't seem that effective, knots kept coming undone or didn't hold securely and afterward I noticed it was already starting to fray after one use. I'm thinking of replacing it with a more sturdy type of rope like Paracord (used in parachutes) or climbing rope.

I like the look of Paracord but it seems to be about as wide as a shoelace... if I can find larger gauges of it I'd use it (although it must be strong despite its thin gauge) But I'm not sure.

Climbing rope used by rock climbers on the other hand seems to be a good rope for bondage since it holds knots well but would it be too strong? Is it comfortable on the skin, nothing worse than an abrasive rope.

What do you guys think is the best rope to use for bondage?

BS, First of all keep warm. You're in Chicago. I heard on the radio that Sundays Bears vs. Packers game may be the coldest in NFL history. At game time the temp. on the field is supposed to be 2 Fahrenheit (-17 C.) At least the Green Bay Packers will be used to that. Probably would have been a lot rougher for the visitors if the Bears hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or San Diego Chargers.

Anyway when shopping for rope I'm sure there are places in the Chicagoland area specializing in products for the Kink Community. There are adult entertainment stores, possibly specializing in kink equipment. The salespersons will probably be a lot more knowledgeable than those at Home Depot or Lowe's. Often you find someone selling rope at various rope workshops. The prices will be higher than a big box store but worth it for TUGs.

Rev up your search engines. :bound:

Play safe, T.T. :tied:

I like Paracord. It doesn't fray, and knots easily. It's pretty difficult for the prisoner to untie, but the captor can untie you when he's ready without having to cut the rope. I generally buy the 1/4" diameter at the local hardware or home improvement store. But I did buy a 100' length of 1" paracord from a sporting goods store. We use that when we are suspending our captor above the floor. It works very well, and is impossible to untie, until you release the strain on the rope. For safety reasons, we never suspend our prisoner more than a few inches above the floor, and we always have plenty of padding for a soft landing, just in case something should happen. But, yes, paracord works very well, and you should be able to find larger diameters in sporting goods stores.

Good to hear paracord works as well as I was hoping it would for bondage.
