Part 2 -
I was relaxing in front of my friend's TV when Lulu came to say hi.
I was lying on the sofa, and I heard the living room door open.
Lulu padded in, wearing a cute pink summer dress and knee socks.
She smiled shyly at me.
"Hi, Jon," she said.
I smiled and said hi back.
I had always liked Lulu, and we were quite close.
She was sweet and shy and I really liked her.
I suspected at times that she had a little bit of a crush on me, but it might just have been that she was very shy anyway.
Even if she did have a crush on me, she had never acted on it.
Lulu padded over to the sofa and sat next to me.
She tucked her feet up underneath her and leant her head on my shoulder without a word.
I could tell something was wrong.
I switched the TV off and looked at the young girl.
"What's wrong?" I asked gently.
Lulu sniffled.
"I...I'm having some relationship trouble. I got in a big argument with my boyfriend."
I looked at her, pleasantly surprised.
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend, Lulu."
She looked at me with red eyes.
"Well, I don't anymore."
She began to cry and I put my arm around her.
I just held her until she had got it all out.
"What was the argument about?" I asked eventually, when she had recovered.
Lulu sniffled again.
"He said something stupid about girls being pathetic and bad at sports. That's all he really cared about - sports, sports, sports!"
I got off the sofa and knelt on the floor in front of Lulu.
I took her hand and looked into her eyes.
"Lulu, listen to me. He didn't deserve you. He sounds like a jerk. You are a beautiful, sweet, amazing girl. You could do so much better."
Lulu smiled at that, which made me feel so much better.
"Do you mean it?" she asked, hopefully.
I squeezed her hand.
"Of course I do."
Lulu uncurled one of her legs and poked me in the nose with her big toe.
"You're a nice guy, Jon," she said, giggling. "You're my favourite of my brother's friends."
I blushed slightly.
"I'm honoured to hear that, Lulu. You going to be ok?"
Lulu nodded.
"You've given me a lot to think about," she said. Then she hesitated, before wrapping me in such a powerful hug that I fell over.
Lulu let go of me and giggled.
"You're the best, Jon," she gushed.
With a smile, she stood up and walked out of the room, humming a tune.
Happy as can be, I sat back down on the sofa and turned the TV back on.
I had no idea what I'd started however...
