Happy Thanksgiving to all of you that celebrate!!
Something to think about....
A meteorology board that I have been a member of since my mid teens was suddenly terminated a week or so ago. This is a board with nearly five MILLION posts and tens of thousands of members. I've spent countless hours in that forum, especially in the winter when the snow flies, and I feel that I've lost dozens of friends that I've gotten to know quite well over the years. I am surprised at how much of a sense of loss I've experienced.
This has caused me to reflect on how much I appreciate THIS board.
Here, I can be myself. I can discuss my TRUE passion without fear of ridicule or judgment. I was a relative lurker for quite a while before becoming an active poster, though I feel as if I'm already beginning to develop friendships here, and that I "know" a lot of you already. It can be quite unfulfilling to write without an audience. As small as my audience may be, it makes writing worthwhile. Otherwise, what's the point? This board offers me a sense of community. A like-minded community that I'm truly thankful to be a part of.
Cheers!!!
