How would you react if your child was into tie up games?

Postby SolidSnickerdoodle » Fri Jan 15, 2016 3:56 pm

This is something that I've often thought of. I assume everyone on this site is a fan of bondage, obviously. So, how would you react if you one day found out that your lovable little scamp was into playing tie up games? Would you humor their interests? Would you just sit back and let them do their thing? Would you take this as an opportunity to educate them?

I can say that my parents did not like us playing tie up games and nipped that trend in the butt pretty fast. If it wasn't for them I probably would have had a lot more tug partners today. On the off chance that I have a kid and he also likes tie ups, I would probably just let him do his thing.

I'd probably just take a bit of time to educate them on when and where it's actually appropriate to do bondage, how to do it safely and teach them about respecting their partner, but aside from that I'd just let them work out for themselves what they like and don't like. Let 'em do their thing :P

You nip things in the bud, not the butt.

My parents (and the parents of my friends) knew, but left us alone. I guess in that tumultuous time when we were growing up, they were just happy we were not going the way of other teens, and experimenting with drugs. Some of our "rules" were handed down by our parents, such as never tie a rope around anyone's neck, and never leave anyone tied up alone, even for a few minutes.

They also knew that we were all scouts, and that scouts have reputations for knowing how to tie knots; that practicing our knots on each other, was nothing to be concerned about. They were also aware that, as we hit our mid teens (15-16), other interests would take over. Often overheard was "It's just a phase. They'll grow out of it." We did, but I remember the times and games fondly.

There was never anything sexual about the games, and I'm sure, that if any of our parents thought for even a second that there was, they would have stopped it.

Hallo, I must speak now more from hypothetical point. I have non and would probably get no one. The other point is how I would find it out. I think I would at least ensure that get some rules, that play save and we would get no problems with neighbourhood, teacher, youth welfare office and police. My goal it would that not found in danger or that some even think we where bad parents.
The best would I find out that perhaps thought Internet the play after Rule even before I found them.

I'd be fine with it, provided only they showed more sense than I did when i was doing it.

Then I would know that I now had absolute proof---evidence---that the penchant for such activity, was truly biological, genetic. In other words, it had been inherited from me, one of the parents. Then, as others have made comment, I would be sure to have a discussion with them, to make sure that the games were safe and fun for all

I'd show them the ropes, (pun intended) with an EXTENSIVE safety lecture. When I'm satisfied that they will follow the rules and respect their partner, I'd let them do their thing.

I probably wouldn't get involved beyond just letting them know to be safe, to only tie up someone if they are okay with it, and to stop it immediately if the person wants out. Basically, the kind of things a parent should be telling their kids with most forms of play. Otherwise I'd stay out of it unless they asked.

I was never in scouts, other than that, that's exactly the way I'd describe the adults in my life at that time.

I love tugs but love my kids more. Lots of risk involved. I guess it depends of what they are doing but a safety talk would be a must. But if you make it taboo then they want to do it more.
