It looks like Donna Brazille is on her way out as chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. Many moderates are being pushed aside, in favor of more "liberal" politicians. Muslim representative Keith Ellison is being touted as the next DNC chairman, and Howard Dean says he wouldn't mind getting his old job back.
Moving to the left is probably a natural consequence of the Trump election, but if the Democrats' positions go too far to the left, they will be rejected by the voters, and in greater numbers and percentages than in 1994, 2010, and 2014.
And racist as it might sound, would the Democrats really be wise in choosing a Muslim as chairman of the DNC, when there is a lot of animosity toward Muslims? (And while some might consider that racist, I consider the rhetorical question, a reflection on reality. Justified or not, Muslims are not the most popular group of people in the US. That is a fact.)
