Obama's skills (F.Y.I. he's got none)

Postby lonewolfandfriends » Sun Mar 18, 2012 5:59 pm

I'm not sure if anyone else did, but I watched a short little special on ESPN in the morning a few days ago on Obama's 2012 NCAA men's basketball tournament picks, and here are my complains.

1. You have time to make brackets for basketball!! Have you even f***ing seen our economy?
2. Who cares?
3. Why isn't Obama focusing on the real things, like America's actual problems. I dunno 'bout you guys, but the last time that I checked, college basketball tourney pics aren't a national crisis.
4. While he was filling it out, his sports advisor was trying to help him, but he was either constantly interrupted, every single time was chosen against his advice, and most of all, mid-way through (usually) his first word, Obama was picking his team, probably wishing that he was back in Hawaii then in here doing this and listening to this guy!

Your thoughts?

Yes, how DARE he have any other interests in life!!!
Of course, the people who criticize Obama for things like this would be doing the very same if he shut himself away in the White House. We’d be hearing stuff like “Obama is an elitist who’s out of touch with the average American!”
Wait… we’ve already been hearing that. Remember the Dijon mustard nonsense? “Obama eats hotdogs! How uncouth! He uses fancy mustard! What an elitist!”
I am no fan of Obama (I would have supported Hillary!) but when people have to make up silly stuff like this to condemn him, they are obviously getting pretty desperate.

I'm not much of an Obama supporter, but I'm sick of people bitching and moaning about this. Everybody has to unwind every now and then. It's well known Obama has always been a fan of basketball. Let the man have some other interests.

Wah Wah Wah. Quit bitching. George W. Bush attended baseball games in office, this is no different.

The fact is Obama hasn't done anything wrong in office. Economy improving, pulling out of Afghanistan,
and it's a forgone conclusion the Dems are winning the 2012 elections.

My goodness.

Well, if you call sitting on his ass while gas prices doubled in a little over three years, and giving us an attorney general and a secretary of homeland security who won't do a damn thing about our porous southern border, and who are both up to their asses in the "Fast and Furious" scandal; and ramming a health care law down our throats that fully two thirds of the people neither want nor like, and whose performance in office was so weak and inept, that it cost the Democrats the House of Representatives, and seven seats in the Senate in the last election cycle, then no, he hasn't done anything wrong.

And if gasoline, which jumped 13 cents a gallon in the last three days, exceeds $4.00 a gallon as a national average, he can continue doing nothing wrong, sitting on his ass back in Chicago on January 21, 2013.

And you keep thinking the Democrats are winning. Did you miss the fact that, as a result of the last census, seats in the House of Representatives were re-apportioned, with states that lean Democrat/liberal, losing 30, and states that lean Republican/conservative gaining 30.

Man, you must be living in a shell if you do not know about Obama's skills.

1. For one thing, he planned and executed the death of Bin Laden
2. He is gradually improving the education system.
3. The economy is not as bad as before.

So, quit your judgments on him, he is a great president, but every person needs to have fun and there is nothing wrong about picking teams in a NCAA braket.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

1. No, Seal Team VI planned and carried out the raid that resulted in the death of bin Laden. (But to hear Obama tell it, he flew the helicopter in, and pulled the trigger on bin Laden himself.)

2. If the intelligence of the current crop of college spring breakers is any indication, I don't think so. These dolts can't name the current vice president, don't know that Thomas Jefferson presided over the Louisiana Purchase, and many of them are majoring in things like minority, gender, or ethnic studies, a degree in which would be about as useful as a degree in underwater basket weaving out in the real world.

3. The economy is not as bad as before what? What was the average price of gas when Obama took office ($1.79 a gallon). What is it now? (Drive by a gas station and look)

So, no, he is not a great president. He is a turkey, and should be sent packing on Election Day. But he was successful in surpassing Jimmy Carter as the worst president ever.

1.79 a gallon? Your insane.

No, it is a matter of record and a matter of fact, that gasoline was selling at an average of between $1.77 and $1.84 a gallon on inauguration day, January 20, 2009, depending on where you lived.

By the way, if you demonstrate a lack of knowledge of the language by using the wrong words, ie: "Your" instead of "You're," and demonstrate a weak argument by name calling ("Your insane"), rather than presenting facts, your credibility is going to take a hit, even with those that agree with you.

And, I'll give you three more reasons why Obama needs to go:

1. Attorney General Eric Holder, whose Department of Justice oversaw "Operation Fast and Furious," which resulted in the death of a border agent, and who thinks its perfectly fine to show up at your voting precinct and vote, without having to prove who you are (photo ID) and that you live in the precinct where you want to vote.

2. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napalitano, who has done little or nothing to stem the tide of illegal immigration over our southern border.

3. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, who once said that we needed to find a way to drive gas prices to European levels ($10 - $12 a gallon). He has since retracted the statement, but what did you expect in an election year?

Americans need to stop wasting petrol. Check the price in Britain then see if you have cause for complaint.

I told him in a different thread. It didn't seem to get through to him.
While it's true gas was selling for around $1.80 on Election Day, it was selling much higher than that for the previous three years, just as it has for the following three years. That steep drop was as brief as it was unusual, and directly had little to do with either Bush or Obama. If you want to compare prices now with the average price over the past several years (instead of just that several month period around Inauguration Day), the differences between the two are far less impressive.
Personally IMO drawscore is simply on the conservative bandwagon that trashes Obama for every little thing he does and can't give him credit for anything he does; refusing even before he took office to give him a decent chance to do his job. At the same time, they can't come up with anyone in their own party who is even remotely qualified to do the job themselves. Rick Perry? Ron Paul? Newt Gingrinch? I'd sooner vote for Obama - or even one of the Three Stooges - than for any of them!!!!!

Why ARE gas prices so expensive in Europe? I've known it for years but never heard an explanation.

And we definitely waste a lot here in the US, among many other things we waste, but the US is a much larger, less densely populated area than Britain, or pretty much any European country, so we will always use more gas than Europe.

One reason that gas prices have gone up that is often overlooked is the fact usage worldwide has gone up, especially in China and India. Gas and oil prices are not only influenced by one country.

The base price of gasoline is the same all over. What makes it more expensive for Europeans, are the taxes imposed by European governments which are about twice to three times what Americans pay. But go to one of the oil producing Arab states, or Venezuela, and gas is as low as 27 cents a gallon. No taxes, and government subsidized.

Drawscore is correct that the base price of gas is the same and that Europeans get taxed far more than we do, but that's not the only reason we pay less for gas at the pump (though it's a large one). Another important reason is that the USA and Canada have domestic sources of oil that reduce their dependency on foreign sources by about 40 - 50 %, which helps reduce the price... somewhat. Russia also has a sizable domestic production and gas prices there are actually slightly lower than in the US even though their tax rate is much higher. Europe, Japan, and many other industrial countries however have no domestic oil production at all and must import every barrel of oil they use, which contributes to higher prices. In major oil producing countries like Kuwait, gas is less than $1 a gallon. In Libya, It's about 55 cents a gallon. In Venezuela, it is only 11 cents a gallon!!! This is because these countries produce far more oil than they need for themselves.
Highest world price: In Turkey at over $11 a gallon.... about 100 times what it is in Venezuela!
