Postby jonson000001 » Mon Apr 07, 2014 11:24 am

Does anyone here follow football (the european one, you may know it as soccer)?

I follow football, (the American one).

I lied playing soccer when I was a kid, but don't like watching it much. It is too often games are so slow paced that their is nothing fun to watch for most of the game, and their is more action off the field than on it.

Anyone know that soccer (football) is the most deadly sport due to the riots which have happened...

England for the world cup, but it depends mainly on whether rooney can actually perform, as well as whether the young guns such as sturridge, barkley and wilshere can keep up and perform at the highest level. Tactically, we need to play attacking possession football to take the game to oponents (unless your spain or brazil, then park the bus haha :) )

I hate soccer. I do follow American football, baseball and UFC though.

I've tried to watch soccer, but can't do it. Football, baseball, and NASCAR are the sports I really keep up with. I watch basketball some too, usually watch some of the big golf tournaments (the 4 men's majors and the women's US Open). I'll watch softball and volleyball if I'm not doing anything else but I don't go out of my way to watch them at all. And if the Olympics are on I'll watch things I never watch any other time (Summer only, I don't care about Winter Olympics at all).

Given FIFA's track record and how they LITERALLY make out like bandits and the Brazilian Government won't be seeing a penny of the proceeds and spent $10 billion that it didn't have to build a stadium that will only be used ONCE I refuse to follow though I did play soccer when I was a kid.

Seriously though, fuck FIFA.

Never mind the f******* let alone that American nonsense:
England first innings 585 -9 declared. Joe Root 200 not out at Lord's. Over three days to play.

Even after you lost to italy you have good chance to advance to the next round. I belive you played with to much strikers (Sturridge, Rooney, Welbeck and Sterling)

True, i see your point, but imo, rooney should be dropped for barkley v uruguay as he never peforms in major tournaments. Use rooney as a bench player tbh if i was manager. Sterling is a great prospect

I've been watching the College World Series on ESPN, who likes to really push their World Cup coverage, so I couldn't help but notice the US actually managed to slip up and beat somebody. And apparently Chile's fans are completely insane vandals.

World champion Spain got eliminated already. That's kinda weird, but also very neat.

really ashamed and disappointed England are out of the world cup already, fair play too costa rica though as everyone thought theyd be cannon fodder. im backing Columbia, Equador and Ghana for this world cup now, if they all make it through :D

I don't know who "everyone" who thought CR would be cannon fodder is, but you seem to lack any sort of knowledge about football.

Never speak for "everyone", speak for yourself.

Erm ive been involved in quite high up football for most of my life, i probably know more about football than a lot of people having the friends i have.

And i meant in the fact that costa rica wouldnt have been expected to lead a group of Italy, England and Uruguay and go through to the next round, on paper before the tournament.

And ok if you're going to be pedantic, 'everyone who i know'

With the England manager and captain going off on some witch-hunt right now, because it has been suggested that some players didn't want to play on the team, England don't deserve to get anywhere in international championships.

Re: football followers?

Postby skybird137 » Mon Jun 23, 2014 3:58 am

That is a more precise comment about the original situation, than mine.

However, this does not change the situation with the captain and manager. Are they really such a level of intelligence that they expect Harry Rednapp to name anyone for a start? The could be the potential for lawsuits if people's names get linked to this situation.

Addon: It appears that other players and an Ex-England manager are making comments as well, and they don't seem to surprised by Harry Rednapp's comment.

They should be named and shamed, if they're gonna kop out from serving their country in the best way they can then we deserve to know who they are.

Named and shamed? Good grief, we are talking about a sport where people kick a ball around, and refusing to do this for 'Football Fundamentalists' is nothing to be ashamed about. Serving their country? We are talking about a game, not World War One or Two.

Your comment really shows the Fanatic in fan.
