To Connie Brown,
First of all, congratulations for your nuptials to Mr Brown. I wish you have a happy marriage, and many wonderful children!!
And congratulations on that article that exposed some of the doings of the Pearl of Great Price! I’m sure today, you’re more famous for it than before.
My first question, is Connie a nickname, and if so, what is your real first name? Is it Constance?
Your brother said that he tied you and your sister when he was ten, which would make you six. Do you remember the first time he tied you up, or does it seem that he’s been tying you up ever since you can remember? And have you tied up your older sister, and your mother, and conversely, have they tied you up too? I gather that the events of the last few weeks brought back a lot of memories!
Anyway, I guess you’ve got an idea of what your brother’s family did after your wedding.
Were you surprised that you and your long lost sister Cassie happened to be working against the same organization?
How surprised was Mr Brown when he learned about your family’s predilection for tie up games? He seems to disbelieve when Cassie began to talk about what they did after the wedding, and John seemed to have to teach a few tricks in order to participate in that last day of summer. What was his reaction when Mr Craig first asked him to participate in that activity? I imagine he couldn’t believe his ears at first before agreeing.
Were you surprised that your nieces seemed to carry on the proud Craig tradition of being tied up? And what was your reaction to Cassie and her friends making fun of the men during that Thursday night, sliding into the room, planting themselves at your mother’s feet, easily ejecting their gag in front of the goons, and telling them that they need to tie them up and gag them better?
And finally, were you surprised at the kidnapping during the dawn of that last day of summer, or were you expecting it?
Thank you.

Hello Tony - and thanks for your letter. No, Connie is my real name - not Constance or anything fancy, just Connie Elaine Craig Brown now.
I vaguely remember that first time - it was a family party, and I was wearing a sleeveless dress when I was grabbed from behind and made to come into John’s room. I remember seeing Cassie there, smiling but unable to talk, and then he tied me to a little chair in the room. After that - well, I don’t remember too much, but I liked the idea of been helpless.
There were a few occasions, when I was eleven or twelve, when I’d tie up Cassie and Mum when John and Dad were away. We’d take turns, either tying each other up on our own or two of us together. As I got older, however, and first John and then Cassie left home, I just had to contend myself with reading books on the subject - until recently.
When John told me about Jenny and Cassie, and that they had started playing, it brought all those memories back. He told me the plans he, Jennifer and Mum had made for after the wedding and I wished, really wished I could have been there with them. I didn’t tell Dave - at that point I hadn’t even told him of the games I had played - but then when we came back, rather earlier than expected, and we got caught up in the Pearl of Great Price attempt, he got a very quick, very detailed awareness.
To say he was surprised was an understatement - especially when I told him about what Cassie and little Suzie did. I only saw them hopping in, but I heard the rest, especially the way the older girls responded when they were asked if they had any last words. I had to stop myself from laughing - and I heard a bit of my father’s voice in her as well.
For the record, I have no idea if my sister had set things up that night. I knew these were dangerous people, however, which is why Dave and I had a dual password security system set up. He sat there as I told him everything that had happened, and just shook his head before saying, and I quote “Been a little firebrand runs in your family, doesn’t it?”
He had never done anything like this before, but I know he and John spent a few evenings together, so when he woke me up that morning and bound my hands behind my back I knew he had done a great job learning. Then we drove to Mum’s house, picked up her and Cassie, and - well, you know the rest. I knew what was coming, at least in part, but I was surprised at Dave’s role.
Thanks again for your letter.
Connie Brown.
