Needed 2 lifelines in self bondage (hog tie)

I was doing some self bondage with a towel on a carpeted floor. A padlock and cuff key were in an ice cup suspended over a bowl with a washcloth over it while backup keys were on the far side of the bed. Before doing this I had emptied my pockets on the bed. With all lights off in the house and door to the bedroom closed, the room was almost pitch black. After stripping, I locked my feet together with 19 links of chain as an empty loop between them. After putting a cuff on my left wrist and double locking it with the point of a nail file, I turned off the light, got on my back, threaded the other cuff through the loop and locked it.

The first problem was when I thought I had double locked the right cuff. The Securi-tech cuffs I had are made in 4 layers with the double-lock plunger between layers. There are indentations around the double-lock plunger and it may take several tries before the double lock is on. I had rotated my hand and managed to ratchet down three times before I finally got the right cuff double locked. Sometime during the period I got a text message on my phone (on the bed) and with my eyes used to the dark, it practically lit up the room.

After about an hour I heard a loud plunk in the bowl instead of drip-drip-drip. After rolling over to the bowl, I didn't find anything. Time to use the backup plan. I got on my back to duck walk with my feet and rock on my shoulders to get to the other side of the bed. After much exertion I made it to the other side of the bed. I had been leading with my bare feet, but didn't find either key.

Panic Time. I made my way back to the bowl on the other side of the bed to try to find the keys originally in the ice cup. After pulling down the bed spread, my wallet, coins, and cell phone came down. After starting the white menu display, I saw where the cuff key had bounced out of the bowl and I was out of them very shortly.

The padlock key never went anywhere. Somehow it had stuck to the washcloth and fell out when I picked it up.

After that session, I was exhausted, and panicked and it took quite a while go get to sleep.
