So, the usual chant by some (usually anti-aid activists) is that the famine in Africa will not be solved by aid and that it is the fault of overpopulation--"they don't do birth control!"

Saying that its the fault of overpopulation is rubish especially if you consider half of that population dies so its necessary to have lots of kids

I don't think this famine will lead to much donations. The avarage citizen of the west probably won't even get its that serious because in their eyes Africa is always hungry(which to be fair is kinda true) and there is a very deep distrust toward the goverment of those countries, with good reasons
