Behind or in front?

With hands tied in front i guess you could untie yourself using your teeth. You cant do that with you hands behind you.
Always looking for new TUG buddies :)

A hands-behind-the-back tie is obviously more restrictive (e.g. you can’t use your teeth to get free, and it’s harder to make use of other implements) and renders you more helpless. However, it can be uncomfortable or even painful, especially if it’s anything but wrists crossed. I think a lot of TUGgers overestimate how flexible the arms and shoulders are, especially if they haven’t been on the receiving end.
(On the other hand, a strict BTB tie has aesthetic advantages for the image-conscious damsel in distress :o)

Hands behind makes it easier to keep someone from getting loose for more reasons than you just can't use your teeth. You also can't see behind you as well and your arms have more freedom of movement in front than behind, as Sarobah mentioned.

You can make someone helpless by tying their hands in front if you're a little creative, such as tying the hands to something or also tying their arms to their body. And if you use something like handcuffs or plastic ties your teeth aren't going to help you much anyway, as I can tell you from experience.

Having hands tied in front make harder to do things, but having hands tied in back make them generally impossible, or is a very difficult challenge.
Things impossible to do in both situations : wash hands, swim.
Things hard to do with hands in front and very arduos with hands in back : open a door, eat, make a phone call, write, loosen an other person's bonds etc.
Things possible to do with hands in front and quite impossible with hands in back : pull down the gag, pull up the blindfold, drink from a glass.
It is also very uncomfortable to sleep with hands tied in back.
In nearly all the tie-up games narrated in this site, the hands are tied in back.
In the movies, however, hands in back is little less frequent than hands in front; often the prisoner has even no ties.

And, of course, they often/usually get it wrong. It drives me crazy to see the victim tied with her/his hands in front, with a gag and/or blindfold, and I find myself shouting at the screen: “Why don’t you just pull the damn thing off! Your hands have been bound, not frigging amputated!!!” I must get some odd stares from the other people in the theatre, but it’s dark so what the heck?

Not so much if you're accustomed to sleeping on your belly. In that case hands in front would be worse ;)

The thing I like about hands in front is you can tie them above you that way. It also is a kind of more casual bondage that you can still function with (heck, with chained handcuffs you can even still type!) and takes longer to get uncomfortable because the elbows and shoulders aren't as restricted. The teeth problem can be solved with a gag that buckles behind the head, preferably one that locks shut, or just a nice pair of tape mittens.

Hmmmmm.... Hands in front really aren't my thing, several reasons really, too simple, easier to get out of (and by means of that, I mean easier than If hands were behind back) It doesn't have a restrictive feel to it, where as If you have them behind your back, you can feel the strain :).

Hands behind the back are so much better, its more restrictive and you can add more bondage to the arms, for say the elbows etc... :) where as in the front not so much! :)

Hnads infront are just too useful. and they can remove a gag then teeth can undo the hands. hands should either be behind the back or tied to something: bed head, arms of chair, overhead beam etc.

You probably need to be gagged in the cinema. and have your hands tied behind your back too so you can't pull the gag down

I quite like the idea of gagged cinema watching. :gag:

It would stop all the chattering and mobile phone use too if everyone was bound and gagged in their seats.

And it would make mediocre movies more interesting :D
The problem is good movies might have some mmphy background noise :\

Watching a silent movie while blindfolded may pose a challenge.

Now that's just being silly. You go to concerts tied up gagged AND blindfolded. Of course it ight help if it was a really bad film. If It was that bad earplugs too so you could just drift away.

Hey what the hell just don't bother going to the cinema at all, just pay someone to leave you tied gagged and blindfold for 2hrs.
