This Saturday was different. It was unusual to watch Paul casting lots on a normal day, but on his birthday, it was a whole different matter. It was a tradition running basically since Kate got old enough to be introduced to TUGs. On his birthday, Paul would cast lots, and the person who "won" the lot got to be part of something special:
Paul's "birthday tie"
This 'winner' gets to be the person Paul ties up on his birthday. This person gets lots of pleasures, like being with Paul when he gets his presents (of course not getting caught in the picture lest someone think something bad of the parents), or sitting next to him if he plays a video game. It's fun to do stuff with the birthday boy, really; you just... can't... do anything except helplessly grunt and try to escape. Oh, sure, some, like Anna two years ago, escape; James, last year, escaped in 10 minutes. Paul doesn't stop people from escaping, though he may decide you should be hogtied one minute and chairtied the next.
What a mess! Because there were seven siblings now with Eric being of age, Paul decided to roll a die. 1 was Anna, 2 was John, 3 was Kate, 4 was James, 5 was Rachel and/or Sara, and 6 was Eric. Paul rolled the die. Anna and John turned in fear, but alas, it was a 5.
"Yes!" Paul shouted, "Now I might get to have TWO of you!"
Paul rolled it again. 1 or 4 meant just Sarah got tied, 2 or 5 meant just Rachel, and 3 or 6 meant both got tied. It wouldn't be a story if Paul didn't get a 3 or a 6, now would it?
When Paul was rolling the die, Rachel was muttering, "Sarah, Sarah, Sarah..." and Sarah was muttering, "Rachel, Rachel, Rachel..."
"You're both right!" Anna said when the results were in.
"I love birthdays!" Paul said with a grin, "Now what to do with you. I need time to think."
"We're getting sent to the stocks, and he needs time to think!" a disappointed Rachel explained.
"Hey, now don't be an Indian giver," James prodded.
To help you visualize the bound victims, this Saturday (birthdays always got pushed to weekends) saw Sarah wearing brown shorts and a red polo, and Rachel was wearing an orange skirt, purple blouse, and orange bandana kerchief.
When Paul returned, he had rope, tape, and gags in hand.
"It's time," he said with solemnity, as if he were a bailiff leading in the defendant.
"Who's first?" Rachel asked.
"Ah! A volunteer!" Paul said looking at his first respondent.
"What? No! Jerk!" Rachel said putting her arms behind her back.
"You spoke first," Paul said as tied her wrists crossed over each other by about three inches, "See what it got you?"
"You're not being very friendly about this," she continued as Paul tied her elbows and upper arms as well, "Can't you lighten up?"
"I've been quite cordial; you've been a whiner," he said as tied her arms to her chest and waist, "You lighten up."
Paul proceeded to tie her thighs, knees, and ankles. He took out a sock.
"Open wide," he said as he shoved it in her mouth. He followed that with a black bandana cleave gag. He then tore off 7 4-inch strips of tape and pressed them onto her face.
"Mmmm," was her best response.
"Wait, aren't you going to hogtie her?" John asked.
"Nah, I want them to be able to hop or be carried into other rooms."
Paul proceeded to tie Sarah in the same way. Her legs were tied the same. The only difference was who he was tying. Paul gagged her with a sock and a brown bandana and applied tape in the same way. He had a reason for the crossed wrists.
"Stand over here, back to back," he said.
"Mmmm?" Sarah asked.
"You'll see."
Paul used rope to tie their wrist bindings to each other. He then tied them together at each elbow and arm binding. This was why he crossed their wrists, to prevent them from untying each other when they were like this.
He took out two short strips of tape, wadded them up, and stuck them over the captives mouths. He took two white bandanas and folded them into triangles. He tied the bandanas over their mouths, fastening it tightly behind their heads. The tape held the bandanas on.
"Gagged them cowboy!" came from some heckler, but Rachel and Sara could only communicate via a death glare that said "Someone will get tied if we get out of this."
Paul took two brown bandanas, folded them into bands, and blindfolded his sisters.
"Eh, I don't need them to move right now," Paul said as helped his sisters onto the floor, "May I remove your shoes?"
*some kind of nod from both*
Paul removed both pairs of shoes and put them in a safe place. He folded Rachel's bound legs in, and then Sarah's, making Rachel's feet touch the back of Sarah's calves and Sara's feet touch the front of Rachel's shins. Paul then tied their ankles together. When this was done, he took a long strip of rope and wound it through their ankles a bit. He took the majority of the length and ran it into their arms bindings. After winding through their wrist, elbow, and arm bindings, he brought the rope back, drawing their legs in so that one rope hogtied them both.
At this point, Paul declared his work done. He sat down to watch them to see what they did.
Which wasn't much.
Paul's work was so efficient that he painlessly made them helpless. One could not tell if they were even trying to squirm. The effect of essentially having the other's full weight on the bindings made motion difficult.
They struggled like this for about 30 minutes before Paul undid the double hogtie, but he kept them bound together. He also undid their leg bindings.
"If they need to walk, I want them to be able to," he reasoned. He left their other bindings.
What on earth was Paul up to?
