A PROPER SECONDARY SCHOOL

Postby xtc » Tue Sep 07, 2010 10:50 am

JUST AN IDEA

A PROPER SECONDARY SCHOOL

The First Day Of School

You could tell it was the first day of a new school year by looking at the Year Seven students. Not because they were wearing only little white cotton shorts and underpants, that's the normal school uniform in the boys' secondary school, but by the school uniform gags and the way their wrists were tied behind them. Each one also had a collar and lead the other end of which was in the hand of an older boy. Of course, they were only wearing the normal, everyday gags upon which the teachers could insist if they wanted silence in class, not the more uncomfortable official punishment gags.

The first day was always a bit different for the Year Sevens.

DO YOU THINK IT HAS LEGS?

Hi Jay,
The question means, "Do you think the story is worth pursuing?"

Thank you for the query. As you know, I'm a professor of vernacular English.

I think Mr Professor sir that the proper term (also antiquated) is: Does it have LEGS?
At least it was the proper way to say it in the US. Not used in recent years however.
Anyway, IMHO the proper answer to this question is: YES SIR!!!
Just please do not neglect the Sea Sailors and Land Farmers - and most of the fun loving JT  - either please! Sir! :big:

Excellent student, even the professor makes mistakes!

Yes, Jason you are absolutely correct; I should have written, "Do you think it has legs?"

Damn, damn, damn . . . Unmasked as a fraud!

I hadn't intended to expand this story but I keep receiving letters like these:

Dear Sir,

When I sent my lad to your school, he had the uniform, the gag and even the collar with his ID engraved on it. I was disappointed to find out that, instead of being locked into the latest type of handcuffs, his hands had been simply tied behind him between lessons. I would have thought that a school that can afford an electronic system that clamps students in their places by their ankles during lessons could have also provided a more high-tech approach to keeping the lads out of trouble at break-time.

Yours faithfully,
X.X. Montezuma (Mrs.)
(Parent)

Dear Mrs. Montezuma,

I'm afraid we don't tie students as a matter of course, other than the Year Seven students during their first day. Other than that, the only students who are routinely bound are those who are in default in some matter. As you are aware, if your son is one such student, he will be bound between lessons wearing only a three centimetre Speedo swimming costume.

If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,
J. J. Bagwash, M Ed, BSc
(Head Teacher)

Dear Sir,

I notice that my son spent less than two hours on his homework last night. This is completely unacceptable so I have sent him to school gagged and wearing just his black swim briefs with his hands tied behind him today. I shall expect him to be detained overnight on Friday and not to be released until at least midday Saturday. Should you decide to punish him in addition for being out of uniform, you will, of course, enjoy my total support.

Yours Sincerely,
B. B. Jehosophat
(Father of chidren)

Dear Mr. Jehosophat,

Although it is not the school's policy to be unduly harsh on our students, we do try to support our parents' decisions. I agree that it is totally unacceptable for a Year Seven student to spend less than three hours a night on his homework and will, of course, punish him appropriately.

Please may I refer you to page 27 of our prospectus where you will find the range of sanctions from which you may choose. I would ask you to complete and sign the enclosed form consigning your son to the care of the school's Corporals for the forthcoming weekend.

Please also consult the list on page 29 detailing the (minimal) clothing and other requisites that your son will have to bring with him on Friday. If he has not done so, I would be pleased if you would deliver them to the school before mid-day. If that is not possible, please contact the school so that we may re-schedule your son's detention for a future date.

Yours Sincerely,
J. J. Bagwash, M Ed, BSc

Mr Bagwash, I presume. :-) Anyway, it just reminds me of the Screwtape letters, except of couse it's an exchange of correspondance between different people whereas in the Screwtape Letters you only read Screwtape's side of the story. It's not an exact analogy.

Dear Parents,

As we start this especially exciting new school year, I write a rather different Head Teacher's letter.

I am delighted that the Governors and the Parents overwhelmingly voted for the school to become an independent, residential boys' school. This has various implications of which you will already be well aware but, in order to ensure a smooth start to our first year as St. Herod the Great's School for Boys, I thought it would be helpful to remind you of various transitional arrangements

Uniform
As previously, everyday uniform during lessons (other than PE) will consist of white cotton shorts that shall be no longer than one sixth of the standing height of the wearer. Underwear shall be white briefs that shall not show either above, below nor through the shorts. (Such clothing is available as standard issue through the school.) Each boy shall also bring a bit gag (also available from the school) for routine use in class. Punishment gags will, as previously, be provided by the school when necessary. Each boy also needs to bring a one metre length of 8 millimetre white nylon rope to so that his wrists may be fastened behind him between lessons if he is in default in any way. I ask parents to ensure that their sons' names are clearly engraved on their collars and that their leads are at least 60 cms long.

In previous years only Year Seven pupils were required to present themselves bound and gagged for their first day. However, as we are now a new school, the Governors have decided that all pupils must present themselves in such fashion. We have arranged for Sixth Formers to meet your sons as they mount the special busses and to adjust their bondage as necessary. Needless to say, they will report any uniform and binding infringements which will result in appropriate disciplinary measures being taken. I ask parents to ensure perfect compliance to ensure a peaceful start to our initial year.

P. E. Kit
Parents who do not want their offspring to use the school's pool of kit will need to provide their sons with two pairs of black swim briefs. The garments should have at most a ten centimetre side seam and should have any logos removed. No other garment is acceptable.

Other Clothing
Other than "whites" for lessons and "blacks" for PE, pupils are responsible for providing their own clothing.

When not in lessons, pupils will wear only shorts and any necessary underwear. Shorts shall be no longer than one fifth of the standing height of the wearer and choice of underwear shall be their own.

Night Attire
No pupil shall sleep naked. Night attire shall consist of one layer and may be either shorts or briefs. Shorts shall be no longer than one fifth of the standing height of the wearer.

Pupils are also required to bring two duvet covers and two pillow cases to allow fo laundering. If any pupil chooses to use two pillows, he will be responsible for supplying both of them and for laundering his own bedclothes each week.

Closing Remarks

The school's updated Code of Conduct (including the revised sanctions list) has been agreed by the Governors and the PTA and should be printed ready for distribution to parents within the next week.

Once more, I thank parents for their support over the change in the nature of the school and I have been extremely gratified by the consequent increase in the numbers on the waiting list for admission to our school.

In the event of your having any questions, may I refer you in the first place to our prospectus. If you still require clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

This was originally a contribution from the supportive Dominik.
His account for some unexplained reason disappeared along with all his posts.
He has allowed me to reinstate the post.
===============

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your information letter. It answers most of the questions that were still open. There are, however, some minor issues that need some clarification.

Firstly, the collar: your request that the boy’s name is to be engraved on the collar makes it clear that you expect the boys to be collared already when they arrive at St. Herod, but unfortunately you don’t give any specifications for the collar:
- Is it to be made of leather or iron? (The term ‘engraved’ suggests the latter.)
- What colour should it be: black or natural (leather or iron) colour? Or any other colour?
- What are the required dimensions (width, thickness etc.)?
- Is it to be removable or permanent?

Secondly, you didn’t give any informations referring to footwear. Does that mean it is the boys’ choice what shoes & socks they wear, or are they required to be barefoot?

I must admit that I am quite surprised to learn that you use just ropes to restrain the boys. Of course I agree that boys should learn how to use ropes properly, especially since games like ‘Capture the Flag’ play a major part in your P.E. curriculum, and learning what it feels like when ropes are used on them is an important part of it. As a means to enforce discipline, however, wouldn’t lockable leather or iron cuffs – connected by a short chain – be better? After all, they are easier to apply and more secure.

An even greater surprise to me, however, are the arrangements you made for the night. Firstly, a look at the temperatures will tell you that covers – let alone duvet covers – are absolutely unnecessary; they will only make the boys hot and sweaty.

Secondly, an experienced educationist like you will know how horny boys that age are, and I don’t have to tell you what will inevitably happen in the dorms during the nights if you don’t take any precautions.

The best way to prevent what zealous christians would call ‘sinful activities’ is to secure their wrists and ankles to the bed posts. Thus, the boys are not only effectively hindered to play with themselves, but also to ‘visit’ other boys in their beds.
If the boys are secured like that, any clothes are unnecessary, but gags will be useful; without them, those who cannot sleep yet will inevitably start to talk, thus keeping the whole dorm awake.

Some boys might complain at first that they cannot sleep like that, but they will get used to it very soon; my sons have spent the nights for more than a year now, and there were never any problems.

Please do not understand this as an attempt to tell you how to run your school, but maybe it could be somewhat helpful to avoid possible problems.

Yours sincerely
Frank Linke-Crawford

===========================

This is back to Xtc now:

Dear Mr. Linke Crawford,

Thank you for your enquiries. May I refer you to page ten of our prospectus where you will find a photograph of a pupil immaculately attired in his uniform. You will notice that the collar is, indeed, formed of a double layer of 25 mm natural leather with three D-rings sandwiched between the layers and a stainless steel name plate riveted on to it. We leave it to parents to decide whether they will retain all the keys to the padlocks that hold their sons' collars in place or whether they would prefer the Pupil Welfare Officer to retain one.

As will be clearly seen from the aforementioned photograph, pupils are required to be barefoot at all times. All areas of the school may be accessed without the need to venture outside. We do find, however, that, regardless of the time of year, most boys do choose to go outside at lunch- and break-times. Boys are sturdy beings and, as long as they have about ten minutes to warm up, they even enjoy their early morning winter cross-country runs.

As you say, it is important for boys to learn the appropriate use of ropes for Physical Education and, indeed, for social purposes and we like them to be involved with the day-to-day discipline in the classroom. We find that such involvement increases their skills significantly as well as increasing their feelings of "ownership" of the school ethos. The imposition of leather cuffs is reserved for the worst infringements against the Code of Conduct and, when needed, they will be supplied by the school. I should point out, however that any boy who has been required to wear cuffs (a punishment that usually lasts a week) is unlikely to be allowed to remain in school following a further infraction.

Whilst I agree that the carefully regulated temperatures throughout our school could allow our pupils to sleep without bed-covers, boys of that age appreciate the privacy that a duvet cover provides and we don't like to be unreasonable in our treatment of what is usually a splendid body of boys. Very few boys have ever found the need to use a duvet itself. Sleepwear is important to us. Even the best behaved of boys does not always conduct himself as perfectly as we would like and we sometimes need to turn out a dormitory of five boys to stand on the grass and do press-ups and other exercises for about half an hour until they have dissipated their excess energies. Whilst I understand that it would be a case of "all boys together", I am sure you would agree that it would be better if they were not naked in the circumstances.

As for the "night visits", I am certain that one from such a distinguished military family as yours will understand the need for us to develop self discipline in the boys. If, however, such behaviour is encountered, as you say, the substantial bed frames do have their uses. Very few boys do actually complain of being unable to sleep while loosely spread-eagled after the first two nights. At Saint Herod The Great's School for Boys we realise that certain night manoeuvres are an inevitable part of growing up and, in the words of the old saying, "It never did us any harm." Dormitories of five boys do, however, provide a rather public stage for such activities which the boys consequently try to confine to other locations.

Thank you for your considerate suggestion with regards to gagging boys at night to enable everyone to enjoy a peaceful night, but I'm afraid that Health and Safety considerations make such a practice impossible. We do, however, have other measures that we do not hesitate to use to ensure a peaceful night's sleep for all our pupils.

I hope that I have satisfactorily addressed your concerns but please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Yours sincerely,

Oh yes, Lord protect us from the overwrought imaginations of British writers of fiction. They should be tied to their desk and write "I will not tell lies that get people drooling with envy" 100,000 times; getting switched whenever their writing speed slackens too much. :bondage:

Dear Dr. Said,

Further to our telephone conversation of yesterday, I regret that I herby confirm that I shall have to ask you to take your son, Hanif, back into your care until you can attend the school with him to discuss his future at King Herod the Great's School for Boys.

You will notice that he will be sent home in the school's defaulter's uniform. You will be aware of the requirement for defaulters to wear just bright red 3 cm swim briefs, two extra pairs of which will be sent with him as you have expressed a desire to keep him in uniform during his exclusion. You will also be familiar with the punishment gag that he will be wearing, the key for which will be sent to you by courier. May I suggest that, should you insist upon his retaining it for the duration of his exclusion, it is recommended that wearers be allowed relief from being gagged for at least half an hour in every four hours. Being pierced, a quality ball gag of the type is easy to breathe through but a boy's jaws are generally much in need of relief after even so short a time.

Thank you for agreeing to trial the new form of punishment restraint upon your son during his exclusion. As you will be aware, following representations from a number of parents, we are endeavoring to find a more elegant substitute for the customary binding of a defaulter's wrists during his idle moments. Upon receiving your son into your custody, may I suggest that you examine the strap and notice the manner in which it has been doubled before being used to trap his wrists securely behind him. As you have requested that the strap be padlocked, the appropriate key will also be forwarded to you by courier.

As arranged, Hanif will be given into the custody of your older son, Ali, when he departs for his pre-arranged home visit. I am sure that it will be in order to blindfold Hanif as you requested before dispatching him but I am sure that you realise that blindfolds (except the ones sometimes worn for games) are not a normal part of our uniform. Ali has, however, offered to blindfold him with adhesive tape that he has agreed to supply at his own expense. You are indeed fortunate to have such a dutiful son.

A full programme of study that Hanif should follow during his exclusion will be e-mailed to you this evening. May I recommend that you instruct your son to complete a diary of his academic and physical activities for the entirety of his exclusion? He can bring it with him when you both come to meet with the Headteacher.

I regret the need for the exclusion which, I am sure, will only be temporary and I look forward to meeting with you both at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely,

My Exclusion Diary
by Hanif Said

My Dad has told me to complete a diary for every day until I am allowed back to school.

I'm sorry, Father, I'll do my best to be allowed back and I certainly won't behave like that again.

Friday
½ past 5 - finished pe, Ali came 4 me. I showered + he gave me those red Speedos 2 wear. He dint even let me dry myself. He ad been told how 2 belt my wrists bhind me. He did it tightly. I dint no he wud padlock it 2. It was OK all the time I kep my rists hi. I relaxed + the belt started 2 bite in. I new about that gag +, wen that was locked 2, he told me that he didn't ave the keys. 1ce he had rapped all that tape round my I's, I just oped he wud take me ome as kwik as possible. He dint!

Ali put a lead on my collar an led me out the changing room. They laffed at me. At least he told em it want on and they could just as easy have bin in my position. I thort perhaps he want that bad after all. Wrong! e took me 2 the dining hall and made me neel beside him while he 8 his dinner. BRstud cud have w8ed til we got ome to eat.

Ali finished eating and talking to his frends. I must of been neeling for over ½ an our. He pulled on my lead so that I ad to stand up and led me outside. I heard him speaking to some 1. It was Dad's showfer. At least I wud get a comftable ride home even with my arms behind me. I was rong again. Ali told the showfer 2 dump me in the boot + I felt myself lifted from the ground. At least he put me in gently. The jurny was uncomftable.

We got ome + Ali took me to Dad. He unlocked me + told me to go to the seller and told me to start my diary and show it to him
.

Dad told me to re-write this properly. Sorry, Father, I'll try to do better in future.

Friday
Half past five - finished Physical Education, Ali came for me. I showered and he gave me those red Speedos to wear. He didn't even let me dry myself. He had been told how to belt my wrists behind me. He did it tightly. I didn't know he would padlock it as well. It was OK all the time I kept my wrists high. When I relaxed, the belt started to bite in. I knew about that gag and, when that was locked as well, he told me that he didn't have the keys. Once he had wrapped all that tape round my eyes, I just hoped he would take me home as quickly as possible. He didn't!

Ali attached my lead to my collar and led me out of the changing room. Everybody else laughed at me. At least he told them that wasn't on and that they could just as easily have been in my position. I thought perhaps he wasn't that bad after all. I was wrong: he took me to the dining hall and made me kneel beside him while he ate his dinner. He could have waited 'til we got home to eat.

Ali finished eating and talking to his friends. I must have been kneeling for over half an hour. He pulled on my lead so that I had to stand up and led me outside. I heard him speaking to someone. It was Dad's chauffeur. At least I would get a comfortable ride home even with my arms behind me. I was wrong again. Ali told the chauffeur to dump me in the boot and I felt myself lifted from the ground. At least he put me in gently. The journey was uncomfortable.

We got home and Ali took me to Dad. He unlocked me and told me to go to the cellar and told me to start my diary and show it to him.

Dear Mr. Prime,

It is with regret that I must inform you that Saint Herod The Great's School For Boys currently offers no courses above "A"-Level and equivalent. We have noticed, however, that, In spite of their successes at that level, certain "recidivists" have enrolled to return to the school to undertake further study when other students would be taking a "gap year" prior to university. This has occasioned us to provide a V1-3 facility for the forthcoming academic year. Such is the quality of the education that our pupils and students enjoy that loyalties run deep amongst them.

I regret that we shall probably be unable to accommodate you. I do, however, include the contact details for our Burser, who has seldom been known to turn away paying students all the while the school has vacancies.
