Hey everyone, I've been working on a project and wanted to share.
I've been spending a lot of time with my sewing machine lately, and after a couple of trips to hardware and fabric stores I've made my first pair of velcro handcuffs. They are very soft, while still being rigid enough to keep their shape and secure a wrist well. if your in them it is possible with a little contorting to get yourself out. Although I've used a removable chain link in the middle, so you can for example, tie someones hands to bedposts, making them escape proof (as long as hands are tied away from each other I've not found it possible to get out). But if hands and feet are cuffed together and your stretched out and tied down it is next to impossible to move enough to get out.
I have also made a pair of matching ankle cuffs, and after buying four adjustable straps to go around corners of the bed, there's less than a minute or two between wanting to play a TUG and having someone in all the cuffs tightly secured down.
I do have some plans for improvement, I've bought much sturdier D rings, I feel the ones I'm using now will eventually break, and depending on how testing of the next version of the cuffs goes I may take them to a metalworking shop and have them welded so there are no breaks in the ring. I have bought super strong and thick polyester thread, and I've been working on making better stitches with my sewing machine (and different thicker stitching for high strain points), all this will enable me to make some that will be quite indestructible, and last a very long time.
This picture is just of my version 1 handcuffs, I'm starting version 2 in the next few days, and if I can get them up to my standards I'm considering making a third pair to put up on ebay or etsy.com and seeing if there's any interest from anyone that wants a pair (or a pair of handcuffs and ankle cuffs).
I'd love to know what you all think, if you have any questions I would be happy to answer, I could also post some other pictures of my handcuffs or ankle cuffs if there is interest.
