Time for the truth:

Postby Ducttapestar » Fri Jan 07, 2011 3:08 pm

I think its time to tell you guys something thats been bugging me for quite a while now. I'm really ashamed of myself for this, so please don't be hard on me.

My name is not Troy Tanner. To my knowledge, there is no Troy Tanner, at least, none that I know. My real name is Tim. Orriginally, I came up with the name Troy to use as a psydonymn to "mask my true identity" just in case somebody I knew in real life ever found this site and found me out. I realize now that that was a stupid idea, as anybody I know who would go to the trouble of registering and using this site, would know my interest in TUGS, and we could played a few. Pretty dumb, huh? In fact, all of the names I've used in my stories are fake, to protect everybody's identity.

But as I kept using the name, it began doing something to me. More and more, I wanted to engage in the TUGs world, without being found out, so I went so far as to register a faux facbook account. One that I could dedicate wholly to TUGs. But I wanted REAL situations. And I know now that I'll never get those situations under a false name.

So I want to appologize to everybody for leading you on. It was not my intention. In fact, apart from my name, I really am like I've described. Everything I've said regarding TUGs has been true. I am more a tier who doesn't mind switching. So how about we start this over?
My name's Tim. I'm 20 years old. I do live in South east PA. 30 mins south of Alentown, an hour north of Philadelphia. I skate once in a while, although I'm realy out of practice. I'm known to snowboard. I live 5 mins away from Bear Creek Mountain Resort. If you're ever in PA, let me reccommend it. (unless you're from someplace in the Rocky mountains or Europe, in which case it's just a glorified bunny slope. lol.) I'm a die-hard music fan. I pretty much live for making music. I own 5 guitars, 2 basses, and big amplifiers for both of them. And I can hold my own in a blues jam session, which I've done before. Footage does exist on the tube of you. Ask me, and I'll send them to you. I've been in 5 or 6 bands already, and I'm working on my solo project. I keep a roll of red duct tape in my car just in case a tie-up situation presents itself.

So that's the REAL me. I hope you guys don't mind, and will accept me as I am.

Smart move. I just don't think I have any excuse anymore. I mean, I'm techically an adult, and I'm hot at all times, so theres no need for me to be afraid of predators.

Even so, it was a wise and cautious move to use fake names to protect yourself and anyone ele you wrote about. here's nothing wrong with that; it was only sensible of you. After all, I doubt Boundgal, Nuclearo, Naughtynats, or Suestruggles were given those names by their parents either. And my real name is not Jason Toddman either; all names in my Truetugs stories are of course made up to protect the privacy of those people I've mentioned in them; as well as my own. Being 54 and overweight, I have no fear of sexual predators myself :P but I have other reasons to remain anonymous. For one thing, using your real name on sites like this can affect your ability to find and keep a job!

Like i said elsewhere, the name i use here is in fact one of my real middle names. some people here even know my full name i have nothing to hide. I do see why some would not want to tell such things and that is all there choice. i assume every one uses a made up name tell im told otherwise.
Let's use all the colors.

Doesn't matter to anyone really, I mean, don't we much of the time use fake names and false information? It was not harming anyone, so i see no reason to feel hurt.

Re: Time for the truth:

Postby BoundTight1 » Fri Jan 21, 2011 7:41 am

I'm pretty sure Everyone or at least 90% have not used there real name on here... Think about it... If you write about things you liked and used fake names your friends can't get mad at you unless they know it's you, and strangers have less chance to find you... So it's all good...

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet" =P

Seriously, I'm sure that the majority of people on here don't use their real names. I use my middle name myself! As long as you're the same person that you've always been on here, who's really going to care if your name is different? xD

Giving out your real name can be dangerous.
I'm not really Jay Feely in real life.
I use this to protect myself and people around me.
It is normal to do this.
You will have to subdue me to restrain me. I been a bad boy so make sure you torture me too with anything but pain.

Yeh and nobody believes a word you say. In fact Jay and Jason would be enlightened to know you think they are pricks along with many other choice words. Along with Nuclearo. You said so in a message to me on this site. Talk about some truth here.

Please can we not have ANOTHER thread turned into a needless bitchfest?!

It clearly took a lot of courage for ducttapestar to make this post and I think it's massively insensitive for you to disregard the original point of such a thread. Leave your petty arguments for PM's.

I agre with Samanthaboundx. Lately there has been too much of this kind of in-fighting, and sadly I have contributed my share myself.
I would much prefer this to stop; not just here but everywhere on this site. It's getting kind of toxic and is discouraging me from writing here anymore.

You seem to be in good company here, ducttapestar. I like how scottstud put it.... tell enough to be truthful, keep back enough to stay safe.

What sometimes happens to folks in our situation is that we reach a day when we're sick of hiding in the shadows because of our shared passion. You seem to have reached that day.... as I think haloguy did when he stopped posting here. I am finding myself giving up more and more information to members here as I get to know folks better, especially through PMs. I'm finding it liberating to do so.

Unfortunately, I coun't myself among those that need to remain in the shadows..... at least to a degree. My job requires it, and I'm always considering a career change because of it. It sucks having a dual existence... and it wears on you. Pile homosexuality onto the facade, and it's like a full time job just keeping tabs on keeping your activities secret. Blows.

Anyway ducttape..... thanks for sharing. I think this sort of conversation is important for us to have. Helps keep things in perspective.

BTW.... Hunter is a nickname of mine- even in real life- though not my real name, of course. You're more courageous than I.

Why didn't you start your own topic for this question? You're likely to get noticed and helped by a lot more people that way.
I may hav misunderstood, but it sounds like you mentionedbras and woman's clothing because you think sch things are exoected of you for some reason rather than being something you genuinely wish to use. Bras and woman's clothing are just for woman and for guys who WANT to wear them. They're not a 'requirement'.
Thee's a different topic somewhere in Tugs Talk that discusses getting our own bondage supplies. Many, like clothesline rope, can be bought at any hardware store and many supermarkets and pharmacies. Gags you can make out of your own clothing. I used to get my mouth stuffed with a sock and a T-shirt used as a gag. Not teribly effectively compared to professionally-made gags but it's something.
For more detailed help from others I suggest you repost in a new topic of your own. You'll get noticed more.

Postby Jake » Mon Apr 25, 2011 12:57 am

Very brave to admit stuff like that, well done :)

One of the reasons i removed all my stories was because i thought maybe i'd released too much information, but also because i hadn't told the entire truth and wasn't happy to keep them up and keep telling a lie.

For first names, i'm not worried about releasing that to people.
My name really is Jake, my bio on here is perfectly true, i'm gay, i'm musical, i am 15 etc.

On sites like this i get closer to people the more i talk. i decide how much i trust them then release a little more information about myself should i need to.

If i were as brave as you, ducttapestar, i'd tell the whole truth to everyone right now. In time, perhaps.
I'm all yours. Use any method of tying me up and I'll welcome it. Gag me however you wish. Blindfold me if you need to. Just don't hurt me! :D

For many reasons I really enjoy giving out false information online. Privacy is not even at the top of the list anymore. I mean, someone will have to go to lots of trouble finding me because I have many different email accounts and all but one of them have fake info created for the rp character I based the account on. On here I am not shy about those who have known me awhile calling me "Chase."

Now this is really an experience that actually happened to me online that leads me to post here. Last year while I was having fun here, on another site an old enemy decided to cause me mischief on Facebook. They simply created an account with almost all their information stolen from my own profile there. I found out that last part too late but I am getting ahead of myself here. They only made two errors in impersonating me that led me to get them banned there once. However they returned and did it all over again in such away I was not able to report them a second time. A lot of my old high school classmates were taken in and fooled to the point they actually thought the impersonater was really me and I was the impersonator!

Needless to say I am still not close to finding out who my enemy really is. But I did learn a valuable lesson: Never accept a friend request from someone using your actual first and last name as theirs on Facebook.
From whence I came and whence I went heaven said I was too evil and sent me to hell. Demons and devils succeeded in breaking my soul.
