You know...I enjoy a good TUG story, true or fictional...but I gotta voice a gripe...
It annoys me when the kidnapper or captor tries to be...the nice guy in the situation. The one who goes to the trouble of making sure the hostage is comfortable, reassuring them that their welfare is well in hand, blah blah blah...
In my mind...if you honestly gave a [censored] and were guilty enough about it to try and be nice and accommodating in a hostage situation, you probably should be doing it...
The "I'm sorry, nothing personal" angle is really one sided, and has always rubbed me the wrong way. I mean...You're a kidnapper, you're playing a role, you just ruin it by trying to be the nice guy.
Yeah yeah, I know it's just silly stories and memories of kids screwing around but, it grinds my gears a little.
