Part 1 -
For the last week before the disco, there had been a lot of hype. Girls travelled in packs, giggling whenever a boy dared to venture into their midst to ask a girl to go to the disco with him.
The girls were definately more into the idea than the guys. Definately.
Unfortunately, my current girlfriend, Allison, was away on the day of the disco, so she told me to go with a friend.
Eventually, I plucked up my courage and decided to ask my old flame Evie to the disco with me.
As I said before, the girls travelled in packs, so I wasn't looking forward to that. Eventually, however, I found Evie's little gang, among whom were her cousin Natalie, who had helped Evie tie me up many times in the past and who had recently moved to London to live with Evie.
I smiled and gently pushed my way through the mob of girls and said hi to Evie.
"Jon!" she cried, and wrapped me in a huge hug. "What's up?"
"Well," I was immensely conscious of the huge crowd of girls watching me. I began again. "Well, Allison can't make it to the disco, so she told me to go with a friend. Considering our past, I can't think of a closer friend than you!"
Evie's face lit up. "Aww! That's so sweet! Sure, I'll go with you! We can catch up - it's been far too long since we've talked."
I smiled. "Great!"
The attention moved away from me, thankfully, but I was glad to see girls shooting Evie jealous looks and remarking on how cute I was int he way I asked her.
Before I could leave, however, I was stopped. "Hey, you. Don't think you can leave without saying hi to me!"
I smiled and turned round. "Hey Natalie."
We hugged. "Is that it?" Natalie said in a mock stern voice, one hand on her hip in mock indignation. "Don't I get a kiss?"
I smiled and pecked her on the cheek.
"Oh no, I emant more like this." She grabbed me and pulled me into a three second kiss on the lips.
No one was suprised by this though - she wasn't coming on to me, she was just flirting like she always did.
I smiled again. "So have you got a date Natalie?"
She scoffed. "Oh, please. The boys at this school are either jerks, players of just too damn shy to ask me." She smiled at me. "Present company excluded, of course."
I touched her arm gently. "You'll find someone eventually."
She smiled. "Don't patronise me, Jon. I was hoping to snare you, but Evie managed to get you first. Nah, I'll just find some cute guy who's not too rude of too shy and seduce him."
I laughed. "Yep, you have not changed."
She blew me a kiss. "Love you too!"
I was about to go, but Evie called after me, "Meet me at my place, half an hour before the disco, ok?"
I acknowledged her with a wave and headed off.
