When I was with my in-laws recently I was dragooned into re-watching the heavily fictionalized Alan Turing biopic, starring the generally excellent Benedict Cumberbatch, that was released to great acclaim last year called 'The Imitation Game'. To be perfectly honest I know little about the details of Turing's life and haven't even read (unusually for me I know) a single biography of the man. Although I have picked up bits here and there from more general works on the subject of the intelligence/code-breaking operations by both sides during the Second World War.
I have to say although I was predisposed not to like the film, because of its subject matter (after all I am unconditionally on the side of the Axis as to who were the 'good guys' of the Second World War) ; it is a well done bit of cinema. It has a good cast and even a fairly complicated plot if you don't know anything about the subject. Even if you do it is quite entertaining if only because Cumberbatch (who plays Turing like the man had a particularly severe form of Asperger's Syndrome [actually discovered by the evil Nazis in 1944]), Mark Strong and Charles Dance are just absolutely fabulous in it.
My main criticism of 'The Imitation Game' is less the history as (obviously) I don't know enough about Turing's life to pick holes other than the fact that Poles actually first broke Enigma not Turing, (1) but rather the fact that the film deliberately plays up the role of the breaking of enigma to the point of lunacy (the Germans were also reading large amounts of British radio traffic I might add [the British codes were notoriously 'boy's own' and easy for the Germans to crack]) and the fact that it deliberately places Turing's homosexuality front and centre.
Personally I don't know enough of Turing's background to really comment on whether Turing was actually a homosexual or just a misfit who couldn't get into relationships with women (or for any other reason such as prior sexual abuse, intellectual fashion [he did go to Cambridge] or because he felt it suited his personal needs more) thus turned to men. (2)
However I seriously object to the idea, which is currently fashionable (regardless of its obvious stupidity), that Turing's work on code-breaking and computers is somehow 'linked' to his homosexuality. There is no such link and nor is it a 'shame' or 'travesty' that he was punished for breaking the law at the time on the subject.
Indeed it is easy to see the fallacy of this argument in that if say Stephen Hawking had taken to having sex with assorted fauna on his days off. Then would it mean that it was a 'shame' or a 'travesty' that society would rightly punish Hawking for his act?
No: of course not.
There have been far more heterosexual geniuses over the years, but if one of them did anything bad (and I am sure many have) then does it discount their work or suggest their crime should be 'okay' just because of 'who' they are?
Nope; it is their personal life and as such it isn't anything to do with their academic work per se (unless you are talking about Alfred Kinsey or Sigmund Freud).
As such then we can see that this pushing of Turing's homosexuality is irrelevant to his work and as such means there is, in all probability, an agenda behind this. This is provided by acknowledging the broadly left-wing bias of Hollywood (Cumberbatch himself has been promoting homosexuality) (3) in general and realizing that the producers of 'The Imitation Game' (Nora Grossman, Ido Ostrowsky and Edward 'Teddy' Schwarzmann) are all jewish. (4) While the film's distributor 'The Weinstein Company' is equally run by eponymous - and now infamous - members of the tribe.
In spite of the fact that the director of 'The Imitation Game' is Norwegian and the actors/actresses are not jewish; it is obvious that this film is part of the generalized 'War on Whites' that has been going on for the last few decades. (5)
In essence we can see 'The Imitation Game' as part of the continual attempts to normalize homosexuality (which is an oxymoron in Darwinian terms I might add) among the population of the West.
One wonders sometimes just how jewish the homosexual lobby actually is.
