Jeremy Godfrey – the ‘Executive Chairman’ of the Ireland’s Media Commission (aka censorship’r’us) – (1) has been back in the news again after an Irish activist named Michael O’Keeffe pointed him out on X/Twitter as one of the principal villains in defending the Great Replacement of the Irish people by non-White migrants. (2)
Given how he looks a lot of people weren’t surprised when I confirmed that he was jewish:
However, let’s present the clear evidence that Godfrey is jewish: shall we?
Well, the first bit of evidence comes from the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ in February 2018 where Godfrey was part of an exclusively jewish panel – out of the twelve readers/writers of the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ if Godfrey were non-jewish he’d be the only one who wasn’t jewish – (3) to discuss their reaction to the Jeremy Newmark scandal at the ‘Jewish Leadership Council’ of which he had been the CEO as well as the chairman of the ‘Jewish Labour Movement’. (4)
Godfrey wrote as follows:
‘Too quick to criticize
While the Jewish Chronicle is to be congratulated on its reporting of the circumstances leading to the termination of Jeremy Newmark’s employment at the Jewish Leadership Council, you are too quick to criticize the JLC trustees and to accuse them of a cover-up.
Trustees are legally obliged to act in what they consider to be the best interests of the organisation they serve. Unlike the press, it is not their role to expose irregularities to the community at large. Nor, in this case, were there any victims other than the JLC itself to whom the trustees might have owed a duty of care.
You suggest that the trustees should have dismissed Mr Newmark, publicised the nature of their concerns about his conduct, and complained to the police. This would, at best, have led to a lengthy period where the staff and trustees were significantly distracted from delivery of the JLC’s mission. It could have led to a deterioration of morale and departures of other staff. It could have led to legal action, with the risk of damages if a procedural error was found in the JLC’s investigation and disciplinary process. Any damages could have been substantially in excess of the six months’ salary you report was paid to Mr Newmark.
Moreover it is unlikely that a police investigation would have led anywhere: it is notoriously difficult to establish dishonest intent beyond reasonable doubt.
The trustees had to weigh up the possible consequences of different options open to them in the light of their legal obligations. No doubt the decision to reach an agreement with Mr Newmark on the terms of his departure was not clear cut. But there is nothing to suggest that this was an unreasonable course to pursue or that the trustees acted in any way improperly or imprudently.

Note that Godfrey doesn’t state or make any reference to his not being jewish – which we would reasonably expect if that was so because he is discussing a purely internal jewish community in the leading jewish newspaper in Britain – thus it is taken as read that Godfrey like the other eleven writers was/is jewish.
Further we know it is the same Godfrey because of the fact he states lives in Dublin – which Godfrey does – and also is the only senior figure in Ireland I can find with that name; thus, it is the same Jeremy Godfrey.
Confirmatory evidence for this comes from the X/Twitter user @koekisland who managed to find an article from 2018 – the same year as Godfrey wrote as if he were a jew in the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ – from the website ‘Liberal Judaism’:
‘The community at Dublin Jewish Progressive Congregation (DJPC) celebrated a very special Passover service which included bat mitzvah celebrations for Orla Godfrey and Yasmin Abrahamson Schwartz.
A first in the congregation’s 72 year history, the combined Passover and bat mitzvah service was led by Rabbi Dr Charles Middleburgh.
Orla (pictured left), who was born in Hong Kong, has been a regular attender at services and cheder since her parents Jeremy and Julie moved to Dublin.
She was joined on the Bimah by Yasmin, who lives in Israel, and was visiting family in Dublin over Pesach.
Both families were enthusiastic about holding the events on the same day, and so it was that Orla and Yasmin celebrated their bat mitzvah on the first day of Pesach, making this a truly memorable occasion for everyone present.
To make the event even more unique, Yasmin was the fourth generation of her family to celebrate a bat mitzvah at DJPC, following her mother Tali Abrahamson Schwartz, grandmother Hilary Abrahamson and great-grandmother Jacqueline Solomon (all pictured right).
Dublin founder member Jacqueline celebrated her bat mitzvah 10 years ago at the age of 82, with the service also being led by Rabbi Dr Charles Middleburgh.’ (6)
Now note this passage:
‘Orla (pictured left), who was born in Hong Kong, has been a regular attender at services and cheder since her parents Jeremy and Julie moved to Dublin.’
Now this references Orla Godfrey’s bat mitzvah – a bar mitzvah for girls making their coming of age common in Reform Judaism – but we are also told that Orla was born in Hong Kong and guess who worked in Hong Kong before he returned to Dublin: Jeremy Godfrey.
For example, we read on the website of the ‘International Institute for Communications’ that:
‘Jeremy Godfrey
Executive Chairperson, Coimisiún na Meán, Ireland
Jeremy Godfrey has over 30 years of regulatory, government and business experience in the communications, technology and online sectors, in Ireland and Hong Kong.’ (7)
In addition to the fact that Godfrey also used to work for the British government (8) so put another way we have Jeremy Godfrey being invited to contribute opinions on internal scandals within the jewish community in the leading jewish periodical in the British Isles and we have Godfrey’s daughter Orla having her bat mitzvah at the local synagogue.
I am afraid that is pretty conclusive: Ireland’s censorship czar Jeremy Godfrey is indeed jewish.
You might as well call him Jeremy Goldberg.
