According to Vianella Burns over at ‘Patch’ there has been yet another ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ claim that occurred on 13th May 2024 in New York’s upmarket Upper East Side.
She writes how:
‘An Upper East Side restaurant specializing in kosher food was the latest target of vandals, who smashed the eatery's windows on Wednesday morning, according to reports.
On Wednesday, NYC Council Member Julie Menin stated that Rothschild TLV, located on Lexington Avenue and 78th Street, was one of two Upper East Side businesses vandalized in the last 24 hours.
Photos posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, show that the restaurant's front window was smashed.
"TLV Rothschild is still under investigation and there is no indication of a hate crime at this time," Menin said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the NYPD could not offer any more information on the incident.
"The window happened last night," restaurant chef Guy Kairi told The New York Post. "There were people passing by yesterday saying bad things, things like, 'No wonder this place is empty, free Palestine.'"
The restaurant's name was inspired by Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv. "Our luxurious, upscale restaurant is on New York's Lexington Avenue but will give you a feeling that you are indeed in Tel Aviv with an extra added dash of Manhattan," the restaurant's website states.
An NYPD spokesperson reported that two more Upper East Side businesses fell victim to burglaries earlier this week.
Police apprehended Darryl Simmons, 40, after he attempted to use a vacuum to break into the Nuts Factory on Third Avenue and 74th Street. Simmons had also broken into the neighboring Breads Bakery on the same day and stolen a piece of cake, according to the police.
New York City court records indicate that Simmons has been charged with two counts of burglary and criminal mischief following the incidents.’ (1)
From the above report; the restaurant’s jewish chef Guy Kairi is claiming that the smashing of ‘Rothschild TLV’s’ window is an ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ driven by ‘anti-Israel sentiment’ – hence his completely speculative mention of ‘Free Palestine’ as the ‘motive’ – with ‘Jewish Link’ reporting Kairi’s claims in detail showing he explicitly claims this was an ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ ‘targeting jews’ because of ‘anti-Israel sentiment’ (2) with one Rabbi Aaron Frank echoing Kairi’s claim (once again with no evidence). (3)
The ‘New York Post’ repeats these claims without further qualification. (4) Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz seems to be saying something similar as reported by the ‘Jerusalem Post’. (5)
Meanwhile ‘Arutz Sheva’ (Israeli Channel 7) claimed it was in effect an ‘anti-Semitic conspiracy’ (6) by non-jewish ‘jew haters’ as did ‘Stop Antisemitism’. (7)
Only ‘Kosher Squared’ takes a more nuanced approach preferring to sensibly remain agnostic as to the motivation behind the vandalism. (8)
The problem is that the NYPD – per Burns’ article for ‘Patch’ - have already fingered and arrested the likely culprit - one Darryl Simmons - who broke into the nearby ‘Breads Bakery’ the same day and stole some cake as well as also attempting to break into the nearby ‘Nuts Factory’ some time after (where he was caught).
NYC Council Member Julie Menin has also pointed out that this was not a ‘hate crime’ at all and just in effect a regular attempted burglary which has just ended up with jews and their assorted periodicals and media outlets sitting there with rotten egg all over their faces as they jumped the gun and screeched about so-called ‘anti-Semitism’, ‘anti-Israel hate’ and an ‘anti-Semitic conspiracy’ as the motive only to find out it was actually a regular hungry burglar trying to steal food and any money they had on the premises.
Scratch another ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ hoax!
