Courtesy of the ‘Australian Jewish News’ we have been treated to the ‘Holocaust Survivor’ account of one Yvonne Engelman who was warbling about her experiences at Auschwitz on Holocaust Memorial Day a few days ago.
She recalled:
‘The horrors of the camp, Engelman said, “We could hear children coughing, crying, choking from the gas and also the smelling of the human flesh and the great fear, what we experienced, is that maybe you will be the next victim.”
Aged just 15, Engelman narrowly escaped death when a gas chamber she was sent to malfunctioned.
“The gas didn’t work … How can you explain that? You can’t. I was meant to survive, maybe it’s a miracle but I did survive and I am here.”’ (1)
The problem with Engelman’s claim is obvious enough.
Why if Auschwitz’s gas chamber ‘didn’t work’ did the Germans not simply send her the other one next door?
I mean why allow jews who have experienced the reality of the ‘gas chambers’ behind the rather innocuous appearance of regular showers to live because one of the ‘gas chambers’ malfunctions?
Her claim doesn’t make much sense now: does it?
Add to that the fact that Engelman was allegedly 15 at the time, which means that - unless she was overtly sickly or weak – she would have been assigned to labouring duties rather than consigned to the ‘gas chambers’ of Auschwitz per the historical research of Holocaust historians.
This suggests that one of two things is probably true.
Either Engelman is simply making up her ‘experiences’ not knowing that Auschwitz had more than one gas chamber or the Third Reich’s selection policies or – as is more likely – she was sent to have a shower and be disinfected and has somehow morphed that experience of water not gas coming out of the shower heads into ‘the gas chamber malfunctioned’ so I was ‘saved’ by Yahweh himself.
Whatever the case; we can say with some certainty that Engelman is most decidedly deranged and in need of psychiatric help.
