Mike Elk is a self-described jewish ‘Labor Journalist’ (1) operating out of Pittsburgh in the United States who publishes his work in the left-wing British newspaper ‘The Guardian’ and for ‘Politico’ in the United States. (2)
In the wake of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting he sought to capitalize on the outrage that followed by locating gunman Robert Bowers’ – who he misidentified as ‘Richard Bowers’ – motivation in the form of ‘right-wing talk radio’ that randomly made him ‘hate immigrants’ to the United States.
To quote Elk himself:
‘The shooter, Richard Bowers, was a non-union long-haul truck driver, making very little money. And on the long truck drives, Bowers liked to listen to right-wing talk radio, in many areas, right-wing talk radio was the only news he could get.
And on those long truck rides, right-wing radio gave Bowers’ a culprit for his life’s hardships: immigrants.
As a labor reporter, I found myself thinking about Mr. Bower’s fascination with right-wing talk radio.
What if on those long truck rides, he had good labor reporting? What if Richard Bowers could have turned and how workers, who sounded like him, talking about economic issues with workers, whose voices sounded that nothing like him, maybe even talk through a translation?’ (3)
Now what Elk is up to here is create an explicitly jewish non-profit for funding an alternative to the powerful conservative talk-radio network in the United States that blue collar workers such as Bowers routinely listen to. In essence he wants people to fund him and other left-wing (and possibly also jewish) journalists in creating a rival to this near monopoly that would report on ‘labor issues’ (aka promote socialist talking points) to this same target audience.
Elk is clearly a self-promoting left-wing entrepreneurial jew, but it doesn’t make his – likely flawed given that few workers want to hear five hours of socialist theory and ritualistic ‘be nice to immigrants’ chanting - attempt to challenge conservative talk radio with a socialist alternative any less notable.
