Shadowron: Prologue Life in Neo One Han City was simple — almost too simple. Play mahjong in the Soul Shrines, earn Jade, use Jade to bring a touch of luxury to your daily life. But you never were one to really complain or to even care about it, really. The city was stable and safe. And all one had to do to get a little something more was to play mahjong. Play it the way NAGA intended, it's what everyone was told ever since they were born. Just like you were taught to play it. Beats whatever shit the people had to suffer through right after the incident occurred, or at least what you were told of those times. A perfectly mundane but stable existence, but it was more than enough for you. So, when an explosion suddenly knocked you out cold and left you at the mercy of an unfamiliar group of people, who also took your unconscious body into unknown territory with them, that stability was quite literally blown away in one fell swoop. Your eyes open slowly, coupled with the worst headache you've ever had. You look around in a daze, seeing strange-looking people wearing stranger-looking clothes but strangest of all, some of them are playing mahjong. Not Soul Shrine, NAGA-centric mahjong, but human mahjong, with actual, physical tiles. Something that you, as an obedient citizen of the city, easily recognized as one of the most heinous crimes of all. Something you thought was only featured in stories intended to scare little kids into obedience. And it's happening right under your slightly blurry eyes. However, your awakening does not go unnoticed, as a cat-eared girl swiftly calls out to you from behind you. Your aching head turns swiftly as the call-out gives you a slight jumpscare. "Morning. Sorry for having to drag you with us, but with their spectacular failure of a raid on our little tournament, that unconscious body of yours was looking like a prime scapegoat for them to prosecute. And we don't intend to give them an inch, not anymore." She stares at you bluntly as she speaks in a monotone voice, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. "No need to thank us. Silence speaks volumes here." She moves her gaze towards the illegal games taking place right next to your little sleeping spot. She begins to move past you, grabbing a small gun from a nearby table and spinning it around her finger as she walks towards the exit. "The same goes for out there. No questions, no answers. Just forget you saw anything and leave once your legs let you." She disappears from the room, leaving behind a confused outsider under the supervision of the almost-watchful eyes of the four mahjong players leisurely enjoying their illegal game around a square table. You observe the game silently for a moment, noticing an unusual amount of excitement amidst the players even though their playstyles seem almost nonsensical to you at times. The only thing hurting is your head, so you're more than capable of moving and leaving as instructed. However, the irregularity of the situation has left you with more questions than your pounding head would like to process right now, but your curiosity burns with an unprecedented flame. You decide to: >A: Demand answers from the mahjong players in the room. >B: Do as the cat-eared girl told you and leave quietly. >C: Lie down and attempt to rest and recover for a while longer.
