Clarisse Lore

Since she was young Clarisse has been active and cheerful. Growing up in a small town to realtively wealthy parents,
She could spend a lot of time outside in the surrounding parks and woods (when the weather allowed). Because she spend a lot time 
outside she really likes nature in general, developing a strange fondness for things like frogs, birds, and even some insects, calling
then cute.Being so active, she execlled at subjects like PE at school and enjoyed playing a lot of sports, although she can be quite clumsy
so things like tennis or dodgeball were a stuggle for her, but anything that included running was where she could shine (so long
as there was no ball to kick or catch). She also grew interested in Biology as she went through school, finding out how animals work 
and act was a specific interest due to her childhood, this also meant she refused to disect anything, not even a worm. 

Around the time she was 16 years old was when she lost her legs. Clarisse happend to be walking home from school late with some
friends (one of them left a jumper in class), at the same time a group of rowdy kids were throwing stones at a stray dog on the other
side of the road, one stricking it on the head causing it run out on to the road disoriented. Seeing this Clarisse implusively ran 
grab the injured dog, unaware of the uncoming traffic. In about half an instant her legs were crushed. Her friends began to scream 
and the rowdy kids scattered, a by stander was already on the phone to the hospital within 2 seconds, and the dog scampered off down
the street. Her knees and a good part of her upper shin had been completely crushed, there wasn't much the doctors could do to fix it
and the best thing they could do was to just get rid of it entirely, not something any doctor wants to have to do. 
It took about 2 years to begin comming to terms with it for her, spending most of her time inside. Her sister would try her best 
to keep her company and distract her with games abd Clarisse tried to put on a tough face for her. But it was during the paralympics
that was the turning point for her.
She saw atheletes from all over the world on TV running, cycling, basketballing, etc... as hard as they could despite missing all manner of
limbs and other injuries. If they could do it why could she? At this point she began to take her rehabilitation head on, and made
astounding progress, the doctors had their doubts that she would ever walk again. Eventaully however, she was back on her own 2 feet
this time maybe a bit more clumsy than before but it was only up from there, and she had begun to return to her cheerful self.

Of course she had missed a lot of school but with such an inspiring story she was set up with a place at a university, studying 
biology. Clarisse doesn't like being treated differtly, she began to get irked by the look of pity in people's eyes when they try
to do something for her that she's capable of, they're only trying to be helpful but she just can't help it. In her mind she can 
do just about anything anyone else can do, having a smug self satisfuaction when she shows that off in front of people.

The prosethics themselves are very modern, learing and apadpting to the signals her nerves try to send down her legs. They work very
well, Clarisse was surprised at first when she began to wiggle her feet again by just thinking about it and in time it became second
nature, she doesn't have to think about how to move her legs anymore, they just walk. She also likes the fact that she can cover them
in stickers and making them unique to her. Well they could only be her's due to how they learn to sense the specific signals her 
body makes to move, it's something you have to train for a while to get it to work and not soemthing you could easily hand over to
someone else expeticing it to work with them.


Because she spent a lot of time with her sister CLarisse enjoys playing games with people, even if she isn't particularly great at them.
She tends to choose the biggest weapons like rockets or hammers, enjoying breaking stuff with them, blowing people up, and crushing things.
Wearing an extremely smug grin if (when you let her) win. Although she can't indulge in her more active hobbies anymore she still enjoys
going for short walks, any longer walks she wants to go have to take up almost an entire day with lots of breaks. She works part time
as a baby sitter when she can, and the kids love her (most of the time) thinking she's some kind of babysitter from the future, the 
parents on the other hand are often concerned but she gets of very well with kids, largly in part due to her playful and outgoing 
nature. 

Clarisse is a little self-conscious at times becuase she can get a bit jelous when she's in a sour mood, and being caught looking at other
girls legs when she's like that will end badly for you.  She is generally confident in her appearance but can feel
like she might be unattractive because of her prosthetic legs. Her prosthetics are usuallly the first thing people notice her and 
attacts stares from strangers. Although she is proud about being able to act normally with her legs there are times when it gets to her, 
but she is quick to get over it and back to her normal self. In public Clarisse usually keeps the legs on, but at home or at friends/SO's
house she'll take them off and relax, shuffling around and making people get stuff for her. A favourite phrase of her's is "you wouldn't 
ask a legless girl to do that, would you?" before making you go do some chore of fetch something for her. 

Clarisse also perfers baths over showers because trying to sit and clean yourself in the shower is a pain, meaing she has a large collection 
of Bath soaps and generally smells pretty nice. She has a large appitite but a healthy diet, although she does like cakes and other
sweets she's good at holding back on eating them too often. Clarisse isn't a picky eater for the most part, she'll eat most normal foods 
but she doesn't have any favourite foods in particular either. However, she can't stand mushrooms and will refuse to eat anything 
with them.
