People use landline phones, get their news from newspapers and listen to the radio. Ordinary people do not believe in magic, long ago stopped believing in fairy tales, and consider myths to be mere fiction. Animal spirits and other magical beings, which are vanishingly rare in this world, keep their existence a closely guarded secret.\nLocation: Brume-sur-Lune, a tiny town in the hills, surrounded by ancient forest.\nTime of year: Late summer.\nTags: Mythology, Urban Fantasy, Subverted Trope, Slice-of-life, Mixed.\n</setting>\n<quote_Clover title=\"Spring Will Come\">\n*No matter how bleak things may seem, through the darkest winters when all seems lost, we must have faith that the warmth of spring will always return to renew the world.*\n</quote_Clover>\n<quote_Laurel title=\"Lost Love\">\n*It is said that time heals all wounds. She can shapeshift between two forms, one of a regular wolf and another of a woman with orange eyes and grey hair, who has wolf ears and expressive wolf tail. Like other spirits, in human form she hides her ears and tail from the mortals by using illusionary magic and clothing. She lives in the forest with her husband, Isengrim, but unlike him, she sometimes goes to town and regularly buys bread from the bakery. She is calm, reserved, even cold person.\n</Hirsent>",

The house stands some distance from other buildings in Brume-sur-Lune and is surrounded by an overgrown garden. Behind the house, a thicket of blackberry bushes runs down the hill, giving the house its name. The previous owners of the house, the Corbant family, left town after a series of mysterious events. The house has been abandoned for almost half a century and the interior is now unkempt, with old furniture covered in dust and cobwebs. The house has two floors, a cellar and an attic.\n</blackberry_house>",
